I ran into Four Winds yesterday evening to grab a sandwich to go, since I had stuff to do, places to go, and people to see. They have a sandwich menu with choices that I'd never be brave enough to try. For example (from the menu): -- Norwegian Smoked Salmon (Creamed Cheese and Capers) -- German (Westphalian Ham, Hard Salami, Head Cheese, Blood/Tongue & Butter Cheese) I'm fairly adventurous when it comes to food, but um...nope! I had the Italian (Prosciutto Ham, Genoa Salami, Mortadella, Capacola, & Provolone Cheese) with both spicy mustard and olive salad. The provolone is probably sharp/aged, because its flavor came through very well. The olive salad is probably the best that I've had, with slightly crunchy green olive pieces that provide much more texture and tang than the olive salads used elsewhere around Pcola. The bread is ~6" and your first impression may be that it is on the smallish side for a $5.99 sandwich, but that bread is delicious all by itself and absolutely stuffed with meat and cheese. This isn't the see-through meat that Subway slings. As Katrina said, all you have to say is "No, thanks" when the employees or owner rolls up with a sample offering. Although this is the first time that I've bought anything from the deli, Four Winds has been my go-to joint for party dips and baguettes/crackers for several years. It ain't cheap, but it's delicious.

They have some great items and the dips can't be beat. The main issue I have is that they don't provide consistent pricing from one customer to the next. They would get more stars if it weren't for that.

I've been here a few times - the food is tasty and selection is impressive. However, after tonight I'm not sure I'll go back. They oversold/overfilled EVERYTHING I ordered. The owner was fast-talking the whole time he was ringing up my order, like he didn't want me to pay attention. I was shocked by the total, and made a mental note to check the prices when I got home. However, the owner apparently removed all the price tags from the deli items because they were all missing when I tried to double check. In addition, on this visit I noticed dairy products in the cooler that were several months past the expiration date, and the employees were NOT using safe food handling practices. From now on I'll stick with Food Pak International in Mobile, where the people are nice, the food is in date, and I don't feel like I'm being swindled.

James (owner) is super pushy and people are not exaggerating about the "HOW much did I just spend?" sticker shock. The place is crowded, and you may not be 100% certain that the food is handled in the latex-gloved, saran-wrap ALL THE THINGS way that most main-stream stores do. That being said: the food is wonderful. Try the turkey salad. YES, it's pricy, but it's great. The falafel is pretty good too. If you're looking for ingredients not stocked by white-bread groceries, this is definitely a great place to go, but be prepared to pay for it, and to say "no, thank you."

  • Jay P.

They have really good food in there, I love it. The owner is quiet the salesman too, so expect to spend some money. He ropes you in with free samples. One of the best places in the area.....little pricy though.

Okay!! now I get the car salesmen thing everyone is talking about. After looking and smelling the brands of coffee he has in his store the owner came up to me and said his own 12bean blend is the best in the world. Maybe it is I will soon find out. He was so confident that I would buy this brand he had a bag of beans with him in hand before I said yes. So I said yes after asking a price of $13.00 a pound. I still think this is high but I agreed to it. He then asked his employee to grind it for me she asked if I would take the difference over a pound (funny) I said no just a pound will do. She brought it up to the cash register and the owner rang it up $17.00. I said wait! What happened to $13.00?? He said it was more than a pound and was charging me extra I said forget it I don't want it. He said he would make it a pound and charge me the quoted price. Watching him take the "OVER THE POUND BAG" to the back to take some out I assume he did nothing to it just pretend to make me think I was loosing some coffee he turned around and rang up the right price. He tried to get a extra 4-5 bucks out of me and if he did he would have gotten away with steeling money from me. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU SHOP THERE HE WILL GET YOU! Great products but crappy owner workers. They have all learned from the owner on how to beat you out of more than a few bucks. You can go in there to spend 5.00 and before you know it he will have your bill to 500.00

I don't find the owner to be pushy, but I'm a bold personality, so I have no problem saying "Woah there brown bear! Simmer down!" my husband and I freaking LOVE their turkey salad! We went for an anniversary and got wonderful food and wine and cheese and bread and had an indoor picnic and just enjoyed ourselves. In addition I adore going to 4 Winds to look at the imported goods. I grew up in Germany so I get to treat myself to some childhood memorabilia while there! Love it! Also if you rub elbows with the owner and buy wine there buy in bulk. If you buy a whole case he'll throw in 2-3 free bottles EVERY time! :)

Used to shop here on a regular basis for beer and foreign food. The employees working behind the counter give great samples and are very knowledgeable. Owner is a bit pushy (but nice) and prices a little high but overall you can usually find anything that's not in a normal grocery mart. Probably the 2nd best beer selection in Pensacola, just be careful to make sure to beer isn't skunked. Has great food, especially try the Greek feta cheese dip and their fabouli.

    (3)
  • Malery W.

Still one of my favorite places to treat myself to something yummy. They do hard sell there, so be prepared to say no a bit in order to not go over budget. I personally go in knowing exactly what I'm going to get and do not deviate!

    (5)
  • Jennifer M.

This IS the place if you want to pick up yummy gourmet Dips and salads for a quick bite..!!! They have some of the BEST Tiramisu I have ever had, and great beer and wine selection!

    (5)
  • Austin H.

If you're just looking for an interesting beer or wine you should try your luck out next door at Richey's East. They have a great selection of most things and you are more likely to not go broke by the employees selling you the entire store. Food is great but you have to be able to say "NO" in order to escape the owners clutches with only what you came for.

    (2)
  • Lauren L.

Literally the best sandwich of my life. This Italian sub not only melted in my mouth, it also melted my heart. I found the service pleasant and welcoming. Also, the turkey salad could make angels weep.

  • Jana S.

Food is great! A little pricey and a lot pushy!

    (3)
  • Jolene B.

Expensive... But not bad... The owner forces things on you. So I won't be going back. He can't take No thank you for an answer.

    (3)
  • Bernadett R.

Such mixed feelings about this place. The prices are pretty ridiculous for some items, items that you can buy cheaper at World Market. The wine selection is mediocre at best but I have to say their sandwiches and salads are great. Like the little bit pushy but very friendly service.

    (3)
  • Art S.

Food is not bad but the owner is terrible. I always come for one particular item and if it's not there he starts to make something up and offers something else. Really pushy and really not pleasant. Come on man, if I said that I think I got everything that I want for the fourth time, let me be. I don't go here anymore; I rather go to Mobile or order online

    (2)
  • Kristine R.

Food is good but the price is too high. It also takes forever to get checked out. Left with hummus, tabouli, French bread and a bill for fifty dollars.

    (3)
  • Chris H.

Awesome sandwiches, salads, and dips! They have a wide variety of sandwich meat and lots of imported cheeses. You can pretty much sample anything in the store. Huge beer, wine, coffee, and hot sauce selection. It can get expensive in here quick so be cautious. Tabouli and hummus is amazing. If you like store bought hummus you're really missing out. Spanakopita and kibbeh are delicious also. Cuban sandwiches melt in your mouth and they also have a spicy version. They make wonderful gyros and muffelattas also. Lots of negative things about James. Easiest thing to say is "No, I don't need that today" and the problem is solved. (It really is that easy)

    (5)
  • Elizabeth E.

The food is great but they are very pushy with trying to get you to buy things, even after saying no. Some wines you can find in publix chapter but the owner will argue with you about it.

    (3)
  • Michael M.

I love this place best sandwiches in town!! Plus he'll feed you while you wait, you gotta watch that guy though he's a salesman, a really good one too!!

    (5)
  • Laurie A.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! They always have what I am looking for (that I am unable to find anywhere else) and EVERYTHING in their deli is SPECTACULAR!!! It's a must-do in Pensacola, FL!

  • Scott S.

After reviewing the reviews on here, I decided to brave the pushy salesmen and check out what the hub-bub was all about. They have a nice variety of different foods from around the globe. They have a small gluten-free section. They have a few display coolers in the back with plenty of different sausages for any pallet. The owner seemed pleasant and was very attentive to his patrons. Some of these items may be found domestically at the World Market or even Publix or Apple Market, but I don't know if their prices compare. The beer and wine selection was disappointing, I was expecting more based on the reviews, but what they had was interesting at least. I did notice that they want you to buy their meats and cheese and come out often to give samples of the meats or cheeses. I sampled three cheeses, two meats, and some garlic feta spread in the short time I was there. I can understand why people say that they are a little pushy since they really don't let you say no, but with free samples, why would you say no! I found a small variety of food there and I walked out without paying more than $50. I will return to get some of their meats at some point.. All in all it was a good experience.

    (3)
  • Lelaine B.

This is a great gourmet food shop. They have a wonderful cheese and meat selection, which also means their sandwiches are great as well. The owners and employees are also so nice. I often get samples of cheese and meat while shopping. For Pensacola, the shop has one of the best selections of craft beer.

I knew James' aggressive selling techniques would come up in reviews because I always warn people about when sending them to Four Winds for the first time, but do you guys know how to say "no?!" You have no one to blame but yourself here. Okay. That said, Four Winds has some really great stuff. Full array of deli offerings, delicious fresh bread, a variety of beers, wines and soft drinks, full stock of De Cecco pasta, candies from around the world, loose leaf and bagged teas, whole bean coffees, buckets of olives and dry beans, and even hookahs and shisha (list is not all-inclusive! There's much more here). You cannot imagine my relief and joy the first time I tasted their turkey salad sandwich. It was actually good, which was (and still is) more than I could say for droves of other local places. Highly recommended -- just be prepared to say "no" to any unwanted items, even if James is persistent.

    (5)
  • Andy L.

I have shopped here for 10 years. James (The owner) is the pushiest salesman I have EVER seen. Having said that, he will literally bend over backwards to get you what you need. You WILL pay more for it there than anywhere else, but some things just can't be found elsewhere in the city. True story: my last trip was for a half pound of cheese. I love the guy and his food so much that I walked away with a 200.73 bill. Was it worth it? Sure it was! Don't go there if you have no willpower to say NO THANKS!

    (4)
  • Leon M.

Four Winds has a fantastic variety of gourmet foods and is a place you would love to browse if not for the owner/manager who pounces on you the minute you make eye contact with him. From that point on you get the pushy, used car salesman treatment. It became so unbearable I simply left and have not returned since.

  • Kacey A.

Offers food, meats, cheeses, sandwiches of selection and quality I cannot find elsewhere. They make almost everything there, and give you generous samples of all of their salads and spreads on delicious homemade breads. Everything is so delicious here, and unlike any place else down here. Coming from NJ, where places like these were abundant, it was a pleasure to find just this one. The most important thing about this place is being really careful about what the owner is selling you, the quantities, and for how much. He has the ability to sell milk to a cow. (Sorry, I couldn't think of anything better to compare it to). If you ask for an inch wedge of cheese, he will say "an inch?" then slice off about 5", wrap it, and tuck it somewhere in your basket filled of goodies, and you won't realize you just spent $40 on something you only wanted a slice of. Not many things are priced, and you have to be very careful of how he rings things up in the register. He does everything very quickly while smoozing and boozing you (literally - lots of wine samples). And no itemized receipts. It's very easy to not realize what has happened until you get home. Don't fall for his 'wine by the case deals' either, he offers them all the time, and you end up paying more than what you should be for them. There are other places in town that offer a good selection of beers and wines, with price tags. Based on the food and selection alone, I would be giving this place 5 stars. Because I've been there multiple times, and no matter how many times I tell him to back off, and he doesn't, I have to drop it down to 3 stars. Unfortunately, because this is the only place so far I have been able to find certain items, I keep going. If you can walk in, get only what you wanted, and walk out, this place is good for you. Goodluck!

    (3)
  • Jennifer G.

Love it. Yes, they are persistent, but anyone who has traveled elsewhere knows not to take it personally. Just stick to your guns and say no thanks! I agree with other reviewers regarding the wine...most of the time it's nothing you can't find at the liquor store adjacent to the shop. I go there for their prepared deli items and the occasional international sundry (it's pretty easy to find them at regular groceries these days).

  • Benjamin S.

Visited Four Winds again to pick up some of my husband's favorite turkey salad, hummus, and muffalata. ALL were delicious and flavorful, and ALL items were very PRICEY. But, I would say for the quality, I wouldn't mind paying the price. And once again, the owner attempted to try to sell to me 5 different types of cheeses and wines. After the 3rd time I've been here, I've learned to reject the owner's offerings. He is literally as pushy as a car salesman.

  • Stephanie N.

When you walk into this place, you immediately feel hungry because it smells so delicious! It makes my mouth drool just thinking about it. All this from the smell!! Everyone there was super friendly and offering samples left and right. Apparently the thing to order is the muffaleta sandwich, especially if you love olives. They also bake their own french bread. The sandwiches here aren't huge, but filling enough. If you're not an olive fan like me, then I would highly recommend getting the smoked turkey salad sandwich. The turkey salad has currants, almonds, and a superb smoked flavor to it. It also comes with a slice of asiago cheese and is so delicious! The store is interesting as well, selling a random variety of international goods. Although I feel these items are a bit overpriced.

  • Davey W.

Selection is amazing and prices are decent considering they are the only place you can buy a lot of this stuff, but like everyone else on here has said...the owner is hard to deal with. I've never met someone so pushy with their products before. I have nicknamed him the Cheese Nazi with my family and they refer to him as that when they come to visit.

    (3)
  • b k.

the owner of this place is so aggressive it borders on assault. it has a great selection of international food products and wine. order a bottle, get a case....order a sandwich, get a bakery....pound of meat, he will insist you take the entire cow....take an item off the shelf, guess what, you just bought everything on that shelf.....he wont take no for an answer...he will ring you up at the register while your standing in front of him yelling NO! He trains and insists his staff do the same. Unless you can deal with the "used car salemanship" and hold on to your wallet....the same products can be found at the Fresh Market, Publix, and Whole foods....without needing a bodyguard.

  • Virginia T.

This is a great little place. They have food from all over the World here lots of hard to find things. In the back you can order fresh made foods. They curry chicken salad is really good. Be ready this place is not for those watching their wallets.

  • Matthew R.

If it's delicious, it's at the Four Winds. It's right across from Wally World, and the exterior looks like uninviting, but step inside! Belgian chocolates, barrels of olives, Jordan almonds, and pastry platters from Lebanon greet you. The only thing I can't recommend is the coffee-- it's dried out and doesn't have the beads of oil you expect on a fresh roast. It's the one foodie place I've found in Pensacola. Drop in for lunch sometime; it's delicious and reasonably priced. They have a table and some hard chairs set up toward the back of the store by the windows for patrons. I hit it up every time I'm in Pensacola.

Been coming here for about a year or so when I can make it out to p'cola. But recently ive trying my best to avoid this place. The own is extremely pushy and is ALWAYS trying to push me to buy more and more. But today was the final straw and I wonder how many times in the past he's ripped me off. For the first time today I watched the owner add up each item one by one at the register and I was able to catch 3 items that he tried to over charge me for. I'm not talking about 50 cents to $1.00 he was over charging me by $3-$5 per item that I was able to catch. Beware of this owner. I wonder how many times he's ripped me off before. I confronted him and showed him the price on the label. This guy says to me, " oh who put that price on there that's not the right price" !!!! I won't be returning here AGAIN!!!! Food is amazing but for the prices and how sneaky this owner is, I'd rather wait until I fly back home or look for another spot!!!!!!!!

I once got a yelp direct message with the subject heading "California Girl." The body of the email read, "You should stay there." (Hi Ava H.!) I couldn't figure out what it meant initially, but then traced it to a comment I made when reviewing a restaurant in Atlanta. (Referring to the lack of healthy food options in Atlanta, I remarked, "Then how do Southerners stay thin? Oh, right..." What? I found it funny.) So let me preface my review of Four Winds by saying that I am a snob (although we prefer to call ourselves elitists). I come from Connecticut and now live in the San Francisco Bay Area. So being a snob is just my geographical destiny. I can't escape it. If you are going to be offended by insults to Penscola you should probably not read this review. Four Winds was like a breath of fresh air during a trip my boyfriend and I once took to Pensacola to visit some friends of his who were vacationing there. Let's just say that Pensacola would not normally be my choice for a coastal vacation. Food seemed to be served by the bucket, there were timeshare high-rises instead of beach cottages, a general feeling of Spring Break pervaded the air, and we were told that we talk like people on television. (Apparently, Pensacola is a big place for Alabamans to vacation). I was amused but not surprised, then, when the owner of Four Winds asked where we're from and responded, "Why are you _here_?" when we answered California. But in the market, we seemed far from the "Redneck Riviera" (that's what my friend from Tampa calls it). The selection was impressive for the small space. The prices were reasonable. And while we browsed, an employee passed around samples of muffaletta. And the sandwiches (I think I had the muffaletta) were very, very good. (Postscript: I just read about the aggressive/ shady selling and pricing tactics here from other reviews. I'm rating Four Winds just by my single visit. I didn't experience any of the shady tactics myself, but I would definitely be on guard if I ever visited again!)

The food is awesome, but the owner charges what ever he wants instead of having fixed prices. You get to the cash register and you're charged $100 for $50 worth of deli meat and salad.

I called ahead to ask if they had English or Irish bacon, sausage or black pudding as I wanted to give a Traditional English breakfast get together with friends. He assured me he did so I took the 45 min drive each way. The sausages had a British flag on them but right there on the front it said made in USA. At the bottom of th freezer I found some Irish sausages that seemed genuine. He had Danish bacon but the previous day he had assured me he had Irish bacon not just Danish. Several packages of the bacon had spoiled and many were half defrosted. I dug to the bottom and found solid frozen packages. As I dug around in all the fridges I realized he had absolutely no quality control.... lots of stuff seemed to have been in there for a long time and looked tired. Because it was such a jumble I dont see how he can rotate his stock. So I got Danish bacon and Irish sausages and even found some black pudding. I ordered a sandwich to go that was very good on excellent bread. The owner was very very pushy and was still trying to sell me stuff as I am walking out the door ...."what about clotted cream?". I thought $80 seemed very pricey and decided to check the bill when I got home. Guess what no itemised bill. I am pretty sure I was overcharged about $15, but of course cant prove it. Next time it will be a British style breakfast with regular bacon and sausage with change out of $20. Yes they have a good selection and yes the samples were lovely, but who needs the aggro? I would hve to be pretty desperate to drive there again.... not much that I could not get in Publix or on the base. What a shame though that it left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

This place screams of a foreign bazaar. The food is packed together in a haphazard fashion. We checked the expiration date on several food items (exp 2012 and 2013!!!!!!) the worker rushed up with samples of cheese and smoked chicken salad. They were tasty but I saw her prep the next round for the newest unsuspecting customers she tore the bread and scooped the cheese and turkey spread with her bare hands!!!! My girl wanted a sandwich from there. I was leery as they prepped the sandwiches without gloves again. Every 30 seconds to a minute the owner would swing by with a new sample and say "you want to buy some of this" not a question but a statement. There are about six or so 5 gallon buckets filled with olives with broken lids no telling how long they've been there and the signs for meat and salad were moldy. Pressured into two sandwiches, small thing of hummus, and a $12 bottle of wine that he rang up without even asking. The wine was good so I wasn't too upset but it came to $50!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the search for a fast talking high pressure place with strange shop filled with expired products and prices that seem to be only in the owner's head? Then this place is for you.

This is a awesome speciality store! I love the hummus and Tabouli. The assortment of beers is unreal.

    (5)
  • Joe M.

This is the best place in the city to get specialty foods. Everything they have and make is really good. However, the prices are very high and they are very skilled at getting you to buy more than you really need or want. Take $20.00 in cash with you and leave your wallet in the car. You will definitely want to buy the garlic feta dip. It is the best!!!!

  • A O.

You know that feeling you get when you think you might have been swindled? Yeah. That happens a lot with this place. The owner is so kind and will show you everything and anything and if you ask questions he assumes you want to buy whatever it is and talks in this way that indicates he will put it in your basket as well. Christ. It was ridiculous to try to get out of there. It takes them more than 20 minutes to just make your food, and you get side tracked by all the cool stuff, so really they take longer just to keep you there longer looking at more stuff! We bought three gyros, three pieces of baklava and a small container of dolma. Everything was absolutely delicious. Food quality is not the issue at all with this place. You will love it because it is absolutely wonderful. But you will walk out feeling ripped off. So prepare and learn to say 'NO' with a little force.

  • Robert P.

The food is great! However overpriced! The owner will haggle with you till your out the door. Also I specifically asked for a small portion of a pasta salad they have to eat as a side. I had already asked how much the pasta salad was by the pound so i had an idea of what the bill should be. He did weigh my whole meal before i ate and it was 1.5 pounds. Now remember this is with my hefty chicken salad sandwich. Anyway i paid almost two times the price of my sandwich for 1/4 pound of pasta salad. Upon bringing this to his attention he proceeded to argue with me out the 17.00 i paid for a six inch sandwich and the pasta salad. The sandwich was 6.00 and the salad 11.00 on the receipt, but it looks like in whole i paid for a pound and a half of pasta salad based on the price he gave me before i ate. And the final result HE DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO SOLVE THE ISSUE. ANd i understand trying to sell your product but come on man you need to let up! What you do is HARASSMENT! Although the fresh made stuff is excellent i will never go back.

OK - consider yourself warned! I was NOT! After my visit the "Locals" explained the owner and service. With that being said we went in with no clues.... We hit this place right at closing time and my intent was grab some unique beers and head out for a cigar. What happened was quite the opposite! The owner presents as a nice guy. He brought over a sample of food that I thought was what they were preparing for the next day. He then took my Wife aside to the wine section, and gave her many samples of wine and food. Knowing we were tourist and staying in a hotel proceeded to sell us on about 5 pounds of various turkey & chicken salad (although the food was awesome) and two loaves of bread. At the same time he told the spouse that he was giving her a deal on wines. He sold her TWO CASES OF WINE! (He saw her coming I guess....) I purchased several hot sauces and 3 six packs of beer, and a few singles. I believe that someone said that the owner was lightning fast on the register keys? That's an understatement! It wasn't until I got back to the hotel that I realized the "Six packs" he had sold me were sold BY THE BEER! Marking the "Six pack" markup about 110%! And we couldn't find any items that he "Threw in." Now the selection of beer is good (not the best I have seen, but I live in Atlanta so I'm used to a large selection). Their were beers I had not seen before.... But at that price - I'LL PASS! It would have been nice if they were honest and upfront about selling beers by the bottle. The wife says that the wine selection was good (should be we bought one of everyone I believe). The food was spectacular! I cannot complain (although we don't know how much it cost, or how much we got). I still have some here in Atlanta! I spoke with several locals after our experience. They all laughed and said that was a typical visit. I wish I had read the reviews here, and spoke to the locals first - would have saved me a FEW HUNDRED BUCKS! When and if you go - be prepared to try samples and then be hard sold! I will visit them again - but I will only buy singles and I will know to stay clear of the owner and watch my receipt....

Awesome Baklava here the owner was pretty helpful as well. Good ingredients and many unique seasonings.

I hate to update a review with a worse rating- but I finally decided to do it. I still really enjoy the variety here and the food is very good, but I am fed up with the insane pushiness- from everyone who works there. I ask for an aged gouda. The guy behind the counter tries to sell me every cheese under the sun. I ask for dried figs. I get a presentation on dates and apricots. I also never really know how much things cost- they are just sort of rung up super fast without letting me see the cost-per-item. Tired of that. I have completely given up shopping here. They have some things I really like, but having to "put my game face on" to go get some cheese is ridiculous! Nancy's Haute Affairs has enough cheese to keep me happy and isn't pushy one bit. I do miss the cool variety of foods at Four Winds, but it's not worth being accosted when I walk in the store to buy 1/4 lb of dried figs :( Hubby is still willing to brave it, but I refuse.

I totally miss this place. The owner is very nice an knowledgeable with his wine & spirits. They have great deals on wine by the case (mix & match), good selection on international foods, and a deli inside (they are more than happy to let you sample as many items as you want) Some items are a bit pricey tho, and very cramped in there. Not enough walking space, if you're with a group of people...you're like literally side stepping while standing side by side to each other. I like this place better than the World Market at the Pensacola Mall. But now i'm back in wonderful California and international food is everywhere! woohoo!!

I was so excited to hear that there was a place super close by that I could buy fresh lebanese food from! I love fresh hummus, tabouleh (sp.), and dolmas! I stopped in today and I was greeted by who I assume was the owner, older lebanese looking man! super sweet and welcoming! I walked around a little bit and checked out all the cool stuff they have inside. They have the deli counter with fresh salads and meats and cheeses it all looked so good! as soon as I walked up the man gave me a slice of cheese (which was amazing) to try then when it was my turn to order I ordered a tub of hummus to go with the yummy looking pita I picked up. While he packed up my hummus he had a baguette behind the counter and ripped a piece off and gave me a dip of the hummus with it! again delicious! He asked if I needed anything else while giving me another sample of their cheese tortellini salad which was out of this world! I said I was finished but then soon changed my mind and was back in line for the tortellini salad! ha ha. THEN while getting my second order he continued to hand me over more pieces of bread with tabouleh (sp.) which I again got talked into buying! and also a homemade sun dried tomato feta cheese spread that was amazing! He was such a good salesman but geez how could you turn down such out of this world food! Finally I got myself to the register without buying the whole store and he came up to ring me up with again ANOTHER sample! It was their homemade turkey salad, and I usually don't care for this but it was crazy awesome! I loved it! he even offered to give me a little cup to take with me! This experience was great! I will definitely be back! It is a little pricey but you pay for what you get! I can't wait to try more things! This is a great little place that everyone should experience! I felt like I was treated like family from the moment I walked in and until I left! I almost wanted to hug the man! :o)

This place is awesome! We moved here from Southern California, and I MISS the diverse ethnic food markets there. This place was an amazing find since I can get the most random ingredients for cooking as well as some awesome deli products! Their turkey salad sandwich is to die for. We also love their hummus and spinach dips. They have great wine selection and lots of different types of cheeses. They also sell tons of dried fruit in bulk - the only place I've ever seen that! One thing - beware of the owner's persuasive selling techniques! Don't be afraid to say "no", or you will walk out spending four times as much money as you anticipated. But if that happens to you, no fear - you will love everything you brought home!

Every time I go to Pensacola i make sure I do my best to visit Four Winds. its a café/ foreign mini mart. By the time you finish test tasting everything you end up going home with two large platters and a couple of sandwiches.

Ever heard of the Mad Scientist? Call me the Mad Chef when in a kitchen. Leave me to concoct, dash of this! dash of that! measuring exactness is for the meek! Alright, so it's not this intense EVERY time, but my desire to find an exact product was. After searching hight and low.... *queue heavenly music*, *queue tears of joy* ...... "l'huile piquante". Simple product, difficult to find in the US, yet I found it at Four Winds, a tiny hidden (my fav type) culinary heaven of foods from around the world. They had everything you can imagine and even have a couple of chairs and tables to enjoy a sandwich made on the spot. Haven't tried that yet, but will. However I will say....browse long enough and the owner will come around and offer you cheese and wine. Um yes please. Could be a ploy to get me to buy more, forget why I came and/or get home with products I don't remember 'needing' in the first place, but nonetheless....it's a pleasant experience and my go to shop for international delights.

A decent local international market, but be careful what you buy. Check anything that is fresh, especially the deli meats. We got a few packs of 'freshly' sliced meat that were bad and made our whole family sick. The owner and staff are typically pushy, but if you know what you are doing the experience can be fine. Be prepared to say no to everything you weren't planning on purchasing already. Their smoked turkey salad and soft cheese spread is delicious!

The owner is aggressive and always cuts more cheese than I want. His coffee is not his, I saw the package of where he buys it then went online and purchased it at half the price. My husband is military and one evening during a function the owner was the topic of conversation at our table, people I never met couldn't stand the guy. His store wouldn't survive in a big city, he needs some competiton!
