Have been here twice. The first time had the coconut and it was awesome, tasted it the second time and not as good as I remember so I went with the raspberry white chocolate and it was very good.

Dulce. Oh the promise of real Italian Gelato!! We rushed right down Cute little location in historic Pensacola ..tables outside with a nice view. AND an inviting sign repleat with a rendering of the Coliseum! So ..we step inside and find a broken expresso machine...."Gellato" at nearly $4 for a small sized portion that tastes just like the Publix brand of chocolate ice cream and the tiramisu flavor tasted like ??? Well it had no taste..... and a piping hot cup of old coffee from hours earlier .. Add the inability to break a $20 bill for a $14 purchase. And Yes !!! Its a taste of Italy alright... Like the Napels ghetto of Scampia. :-(

I would love to give it an actual review seeing as how I love frozen treats but we arrived at 8 PM on a Friday night in downtown historic pensacola and this place was closed. Google and yelp both told me it was open until 10 PM. To boot no hours listed on the front door or anything to verify when they are ACTUALLY open. Pretty poor business practice. I'd love to go back and give them a second chance but I have no idea when they are actually open....so I guess I can't. Who knows maybe it's one of those pretentious places that are only open 2-3pm every third Tuesday of the month.

Love going to small local coffee/bakeries but when we stopped by this place they told us that the espresso machine was broken, they only had what looked like a few ice cream options and THATS IT! You could hear a pin drop in the place because we were the only people In it! The girl working there was super nice, I just have no idea how they stay in business though

Dolce is LOCALLY MADE deliciously flavored gelato. Yesterday I went for coffee and a group meeting and everyone was happy with their coffee and gelato. I overheard the server speaking to another customer and he said that their gelato sells out so fast they replenish every other day so you know this is fresh! They serve locally roasted coffee and the ambiance is really cheerful. It is also right next door to Pensacola Bay Brewery so you can meet friends in the courtyard from afternoon to evening. This is a great spot.

Half melted gelato. Tested the birthday cake and was NOT good. Ended up getting the cookie dough and was still not good. Sour taste. Not good gelato

Very small place. We had the cookies and cream, Cabernet chocolate and tiramisu gelato. All 3 were delicious :)

This is a great little shop in a great historic neighborhood. They make their gelato with fresh ingredients daily! They do not have a freezer in the back to go get more. What you see in the display freezer is all they have and it is made fresh in small batches. Coffee was also very good but the gelato is where its at. So many great choices to choose from. I tried all they had that day which was like 15 different varieties and there was not one that was bad. I had about 5 favorites so it was hard to narrow it down to what I wanted to get. We are from Tennessee but every time we are in the area we make a visit to Dolce. The neighborhood is great too with lots of historical houses, stores, and churches that are available for tours during the day. There is also a little park close by. It is a great place to grab some gelato and go for a walk.

Went here with high expectations due to reviews, was disappointed. Wish I would have bought couple quarts of Bryers instead. Did not have the rich creamy taste of true gelato and left a sour taste in our mouth. Won't go again.

Local. Quaint. Homemade. Delicious. What more can you ask for? Interesting flavors, different choices every couple of days (if not every day) and dairy free options. Great part of downtown Pensacola. (Cash only!)

Wonderful chocolate gelato the last time I visited. Was looking forward to it tonight. Unfortunately they were closed before 9pm on Gallery Night, even though hours said open until 10pm. ;-(

Coffee, gelato - yummy! The best part? It's located downtown! If you get tired of shopping in downtown Pensacola, be sure to swing by Dolce for a quick break.

Not the southern hospitality you expect but good gelato I wanted to like this place so bad but just not feeling it. The young girl behind the counter was not polite and being treated like crap just isn't worth the $4.00 gelato.

Been here 3-4 times now.... I stop in every time I'm in Pensacola. The gelato is so good, and the flavors are creative. I haven't tried any of the food or pastries, but it looks like business is going well so they must be good.

    Great gelato, worth the extra$$$

The person behind the counter was extremely helpful and really energetic. The taste of the gelato is amazing, you can really tell the different flavors apart. The grapefruit tastes like grapefruit. And the strawberry is refreshing after a large meal. They are always making new flavors if they run out of one during the day. The prices are a tab high, maybe because of it's location in historical downtown.

Amazing gelato! A bit pricey- $2 for a kids size, $5ish for a med (a really small medium) but WORTH EVERY PENNY! So amazingly delicious ! Fun flavors- they had pink grapefruit and vanilla honey fig (I tried it, yum) but their hazelnut was phenomenal !!!! and the cappuccino chip was great too! The woman who helped me was so kind and friendly. Two thumbs up. I didn't try the chocolates but they looked like works of art. We were at a conference in the downtown historic district and this was right in the middle of it... easy access and quick.. there was outdoor and indoor seating too.

Great gelato in old historic pensacola. Worth the walk off the main streets.

I'm nice, and grateful, and sweet and really, really, appreciative of gifts in general. But when it comes to chocolate, if I'm gifted with Hershey's, I'll be thankful for the thought, but - ack - unless I'm PMSing and it's an emergency, I'll pass it on to someone whose taste buds were perhaps damaged by smoke inhalation, or maybe they just don't give a damn what kind of chocolate they use. That's right, I said 'use'. It's a ritual, and I don't take it lightly. I am hating myself for damaging the lovely art embellished on each Dolce chocolate when I take a bite, but the rapture that ensues is devilish and almost worth making the visual aesthetic disappear. I can't decide. I keep wanting to save them so I saw off a little bit, show my friends and then we debate on the flavour. Some are an enigma. I tasted one a few moments ago that I'm certain was infused with crack and I immediately had to stop before I started whoring myself for rides to Dolce to give description of the 'rhombus shaped one with the gold speckles and pale green truffle'. Seriously. It has this light springy taste, like it imports you to field in Provence, almost like a teaberry, but fresher, and then it punches you with a high is if you were mainlining it from a drip to your vein. Then it screeches to a halt and you are back on Earth again, wanting to curl up in fetal position, wavering between skulking a wide perimeter around the area where you last set the white box of Dolce chocolates, lest you fall under its spell again, or guarding it, coveting it like the Precious. Frankly, I'm terrified of the powers of the ones I have not yet tasted and perhaps of the seemingly great knowledge of the person who gave them to me. [Confoundedly, ironically, he masquerades as a very 'vanilla' person, but clearly at some point was initiated to the cioccoloto. We have one more who has joined the Dark Side. Gotcha!] I could be charmed like a snake into doing illegal and dangerous activities on the promise of a Dolce. I recommend these confections only under the strict supervision of someone you have known for a very long time, and who does not have a life insurance policy on you. They are that beautiful and powerful. Be warned. Addendum: I had to travel to Las Vegas to pick up my six year old daughter from her grandparents. Like any good mother, one of my first priorities in life is teaching the nuances between very good chocolate and ho-hum chocolate. To that end, I gingerly wrapped a Dolce chocolate in parchment paper and tucked it into an unused Helzberg Diamond jewelry box [who knows what happened to that trinket? I found out it wasn't a real diamond anyway - cheap bastard!] and packed it on my carry on so that it would not get crushed or melt. It was a lovely shell molded morsel airbrushed with gold leaf, and I knew little daughter would love it. She did. Of course, being 6, her unrefined palate is still won over by waxy Hershey's Kisses and anything with high fructose corn syrup. This is simple rebellion and I'm taking it in stride. When she hits rock bottom after and M and M's binge and can't distinguish cocoa from sugar, she'll come crawling back for a Dolce and proper rehab.

Until now, I was really sad to find that there was nowhere in Pensacola to get delicious gelato from people who actually know what they're doing! This is the real deal and SO delicious. This is my new favorite place. Ditch Baskin Robbins, Bruesters & Coldstone (they smash every concoction all to hell anyway)... go to Dolce! You'll be so glad you did.

Dolce is a small gelato shop located in downtown Pensacola. They are in a small, historical cottage type house. The lady behind the counter was super friendly and energetic, which is always appreciated. The quality of the gelato was pretty good. It was actually better than a lot of the gelato I had in Italy, because a lot of the Italians now use artificial ingredients to offset the cost of real cream. The gelato was so creamy and flavorful, so it shows that use REAL cream. The only complaint that I have is the prices. For a local business, the price tag was extremely hefty. $4 for a small cup of gelato is a bit on the expensive side. Oh and yes, I do agree with Rebecca R. Get some espresso with your ice cream, they go together like chocolate and peanut butter.

I would honestly move to Pensacola to be closer to this place! If I did not have any money I would save til I was able to get a small cup. We were on vacation in the area and wanted a sweet treat. The name caught my eye while searching online and made it there 10 mins to spare. Met the owner, found out she use to work on the coast is Mississippi. We talked about how it seems like we have met before but no clue where. Walked out with two pints of gelatos and some truffles. Hubby picked two types of chocolate (one was made with beer from the brewery next door), I picked salted caramel and pistachio. Super creamy and just yummy. It helped with our sweet tooth. We went back 2 days later for dessert after shopping at the mall and eating out. Thank you Dolce!

The best place to get a variety of flavorful, dairy free desserts!

Outstanding customer service and AMAZINGLY good/unique ice creams. There are other ice creams in town, but I never go to them because they sell what you can buy from the grocery story. The owner makes all of her ice creams fresh and is always trying out new flavors and creations. Yummy! I'm craving some now. This shop makes ice cream shops fun again. Oh, and if you get a shot of espresso to drink with your ice cream, it truly adds to the experience!

I really, really wanted to like this place because it's local and the location is great - right in the charming historical district, in a cute historical cottage with nice outdoor seating. But I have to be honest with myself. Unfortunately the Gelato was not good. The prices were as high as some beachy-vacation-y Gelato places I'm used to, but the quality was vastly inferior. The flavors were not labeled and several of the tubs were near empty, which just looked tacky. The lack of labels is simply poor management. Only a couple of the flavors I considered to be interesting - "Elvis" which of course was a banana peanut butter - and a Candy Apple. Exotic flavors to me are the hallmark of quality Gelato, and Dolce's just did not deliver on this aspect. The flavors I chose had almost no flavor at all. Sweet cold mush was the experience. If you've never had Gelato before, maybe you'd like this place. But as someone who's used to REAL, GOOD Gelato, I was significantly disappointed, especially after dropping close to 20 bucks on 4 smalls.
