Every now & then, I give myself permission to stop by the Dog House Deli for lunch. It's my guilty pleasure - I'm a sucker for hot dogs. Dog House Deli just makes me smile. The place is stuck in 1970. You would swear they haven't changed a thing since the day they opened. Which is what makes it so endearing. It's historical charm, and "lunch counter" style of service make is a perfect addition to downtown Pensacola. They have some awesome hotdogs too! Try the Mexican Dog if you want to live dangerously. Until next time!!!

Lots of options. But no fries?......how am I going to make a frog dog. Other then that when I'm craving a Chicago dog or chilly cheese. Then I'm heading here. Note to owners: can u get poppy buns for the Chicago dogs? Thanks

My family loves hot dogs and we are always looking for new places to try. The staff here is very friendly and is willing to take the time to explain everything. They have four basic hot dogs that you build the way that you want. They have enough toppings to make everyone happy. I had a two basic dogs one with mustard, onions and sweet relish and one I added kraut, mustard and onions. They were great tasting. So much so I almost ordered a third dog, but didn't want to pop from being so full. I'm a fan and will come here again next time I'm in Pensacola.

You could pick-up a hot dog at any gas station convenience store, but why would you with a place like Dog House Deli? They make any ballpark hotdog jealous with items like their foot-long, All-The-Way-Around Hound or Hebrew National Zoe Dog. I workout and stay committed, but the Dog House Deli would make anyone break their diet. Select a special combination of toppings from their menu or build your own and enjoy a bit of history while you eat. This location has been open since 1977 and still pushing strong. I was extremely satisfied with with the pricing, you can't snag a Hebrew National Hotdog for $3.25 and anything you choose to slather atop it. Your Rabbi may not approve but it tastes so good, while being so bad for you. The tasty Coney Island Dawg caught my eye with chili, onions and mustard. All that's missing was Broadway! Be careful for the $2 chip up-sell, I thought it was included until I payed. Unlike other hot dog vendors, Dog House is legit and won't skimp on the toppings. Be prepared to have unreasonable amounts of chilli and cheese slathered onto your dog (dirty, right?).

WOW! Stopped in for breakfast and was amazed how great it was. It's a small fast paced shop with limited seating, but the food is fantastic. If you're looking for a casual local diner/deli type meal, do not pass this place up! Can't wait to try a dog.

This hole in the wall place has some awesome breakfasts, especially the Sweet Potato Pancakes. These pancakes were just mind blowing. I ordered the Cajun Grit's with two fried eggs, they were good, but the pancakes are awesome! Don't expect much, like real knives and forks, you can expect plastic, and styrofoam plates. But, you can expect great service, from a friendly owner. Apparently they rave about the hotdogs here, that will be my next try. As for breakfast, I stopped eating pancakes years ago, now I want more.

Visting from NC, and we decided to hit up the Dog House for lunch. I love the decor and music. The feel and vibe is great. Amazing variety for the different dogs available. I felt my dog personally lacked flavor. I also heard the same sentiments from the other members of my group. The bun isn't your traditional bun, and my guess is that if I ate here a couple of times I would become acustom to the taste and bun. It was good for us, but not great. I would eat here again.

Expensive for hot dogs! Dog was smallish, tasty, lots of toppings, but nothing special though. Rice and beans were very good, lots of sausage, and well seasoned.

Oh my...where have you been all my life? This place caught our attention due to the line wrapping the building and it was 1030AM! I had to see what the big deal was and I am so happy I did. These aren't your everyday hotdogs, like Forrest Gump and his shoes, these are magic hot dogs! This may sound like a soft core porn but I have to go in to detail... their hot dogs are plump, juicy, thick and every bite is a new flavor in my mouth. There, now where is my $2.99 a minute?! We each got a different topping and ended up sharing and going back for more. Chili, slaw, beans, ketchup, mustard and onion, we had to try everything we could and the staff joked that we would be asked to leave! I love this little hotdog palace!

The best hog dogs on the coast! I wish I was awake when they served breakfast! Their lunch service is wonderful. No frills. No fuss. Just yum!

Love the hot dogs and the staff. The downside is during lunch. People come for a hotdog and then sit there on their laptops or cell phones, taking up tables, long after they finish eating. Don't be a jerk....go elsewhere to BS or do business. I took my grandson for a hot dog and not a single seat was available. At least HALF were occupied by people who should have had the courtesy to depart. There's no accounting for taste.

This ain't your average backyard hotdog. These Godiva come in an array of styles. Custom, plain, spicy, covered in cheese. You name it and they got it when it comes to hotdogs, 2locations downtown and the beach. Other yummy treats too. Chicken salad, banana pudding Even some special breakfast items. Check them out!!

I never had their hot dogs, but have had their breakfast..really good especially their cajun grits.. The only bad thing about this place is that if you spend more than 5 minutes in the place, you end up smelling like Spicy Mustard the whole day.

I am a total hotdog fan and I absolutely love this place. I went there at least twice a week while I was living in Penscola for 7 months. I always got the footlong with nacho cheese on it. Yummy. If you are in Pensacola you MUST check out this little gem.

We ate here twice in 2 days! It was awesome. My wife doesn't even like hot dogs, and she even loved it!

This place totally rocks. Sometimes you just want a hot dog and this is the place to get it. Dog House is locally owned and it always amazes me at the range of people I see while in there.

These dogs are the best i have had next to Pete's in downtown Birmingham. The service is extra speedy for diners on their lunch hour. Very cool atmosphere. Love it!

The food was very tasty, pretty much what you would expect from a place that serves hotdogs. We were served very quickly and the staff were very friendly. This place lost stars due to the gross bathrooms in the back and the pricing. We purchased 4 hotdogs and a couple of drinks, it totaled over $20. Might pass it in the future.

I liked that we were greeted right away when we came in but the food was just okay. Nothing special, luke warm food and actually kind of expensive for what it was. I would try this place again and maybe try something different.
