Nearly all the reviews say "there's never any cars in the lot, but don't let that scare you, etc". YES, LET IT SCARE YOU. There definitely IS a reason no one goes here, and it's because the food is terrible. Consistently just BAD. Pensacola has turned into a very restaurant-heavy city in the last few years, and most places are packed, or they don't survive. It should speak volumes that this place never has any diners. Without a doubt, Cazadores is some of the worst Mexican food I've ever put in my mouth. I love Mexican food (infatuated, some might say) and understand that I'm not going to get "authentic" Mexican food in Pensacola. But this place is the pits regardless of what we've "settled' for here in the Panhandle as Mexican food. I've been here 4 or 5 times and I always hope that the next time it will be worth it, and it never is. Every chip and hard shell tortilla is DAYS old and tastes like it. I could literally bend my taco shells today in half without breaking them. And that's gross. The beef... DEAR LORD, WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO THE BEEF??? It has a very off flavor and texture for beef. I'm not really sure how one makes ground beef tough to chew, but these guys are great at it. And the spice combination is unlike anything I've ever had in Mexican cooking. While that COULD possibly be a great thing, its far from it. The flavor is just.... ODD. And every dining partner I've ever eaten there with says it after their first bite... "WOW... The beef tastes WEIRD." And boy does it ever. The owner is super nice, the service is acceptable and the place is clean, but I just CANNOT get over the food. I am utterly bewildered how this place gets 3- and 4-star reviews. I talk about food to friends a lot, and I've never encountered a single person who has anything positive to say about Cazadores, until I read these Yelp reviews. In short: YES, THERE IS A REASON THE PARKING LOT IS EMPTY! You can't say you haven't been warned!!

Our office wanted to try this place out. The consensus was that the main entrees were good but the rice and refried beans were tasteless. The beans even had a watery taste to them. I don't think we will order out from there again.

The food is good, service is good and the prices are right. It's usually not crowded, so no rushing to get there before the crowds. They have a great a la carte menu, and their rice is really good!

Found this place while driving around Cervantes street. Looks a little low-rent but don't let that fool you. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was nearky deserted. There appeared to only be one server but he ran his butt off for the 2 or 3 occupied tables. The food was terrific. I had a chicken chimichanga and my dining companions had a veggie chimichanga and a taco saoad respectively. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The chicken was well seasoned and tender and the veggies were fresh and tasty. The complimentary salsa was very good too...a little hot but not too hot to bother wimps. Only less than stellar item was the rice which was a tad bland and seemed overcooked. I've still had worse. Overall I was very impressed. Not a triple A joint exaxtly but a very respectable traditional Mexican place in a city with very few options for that kind of food. Lastly, they had a very reasonable lunch menu from which we ordered that is available till 5pm(! ) every day. Highly recommended.

Cazadores has a pleasant atmosphere. The wait staff are courteous. I have never ordered anything there I did not like. I especailly enjoy the Fajita Taco Salad and Nachos San Diego. I would encourage others to give this restaurant a try. There is plenty of seating for groups of maybe up to 12-14 people as well as booth and table seating for others. They also serve a housse wine and variety of beers. Specials nearly every night.

An awesome Mexican Restaurant. Its not very fancy, but you can get good food at a reasonable price. Monday nights are great because you get tacos for a dollar plus unlimited chips and salsa.

I hate leaving these kind of reviews. I gave them 2 stars based on their service they were very nice & attentive. Food on the other hand was pretty bad. Way to salty, my husbands dish as well. The best was the chips & salsa, but even that was just ok. The search continues for the best Mexican food in FL.

Drove by this place and wanted to try them out. Salsa is average. Horchata was so good. It was delicious. I got a chicken chimichanga and chicken fluta. Both were beyond good. They were in a cheese sauce that was delicious and unique. Never had a sauce like that before but I want more of it. My husband loved the retried beans. Reminded him of the beans his mom made him. He got enchiladas and he was happy they cooked the tortilla in the sauce and he was very pleased. Got my son the cheese enchilada and he ate it all up. I will go to this place again

We had a really nice server, Victor. The place was empty like everyone says, so we were nervous to try it, but the food was good. My boyfriend had a burrito and I had a dos equis and the carne asada. The meat is a little tougher, but all the food we had was really good. I give three stars because I only ate there once and obviously couldn't try everything, but I wanted people to know it's good even though it's empty.

Cazadores opened a new location on Cervantes in Pensacola Height a couple of years ago. We love the new location & as far as lunch specials go, this place is hard to beat! Two people can eat for about $12. So if your'e looking for cheap mexican eats, this is a great place to visit!

Very bad experience overall. It took 10 minutes for us to even get the attention of a server and then it only went downhill from there. "Margaritas" were made with some kind of awful pseudo-liquor and were a complete waste of $8. Server danced around the question of which "top-shelf" liquor was used and ignored an requests for shots. It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't even have a liquor license. As food the food, I've had better quesadillas from Taco Bell and it literally tasted like someone microwaved a dry tortilla while some chunked chicken and cheese inside. Refried beans appeared to have been re-warmed via microwave three or four times.

Worst Mexican food I have had and the portions for the price is not worth it. The beans tasted and rice tasted like they came out of a pre made microwave dinner.

Not good, everything tastes like it came out of a can or the freezer. There has to be better places in Pensacola to eat then here. Its cheap, but the likelihood of getting food poisoning is pretty high. Oh and they didn't even have any lights on while we ate, cool.

Our family calls this "the place that no one is ever at" so it makes parking and service pretty easy. There should be more people eating here. They have great daily specials, they leap over pinatas to make my dish as vegan as possible and the ice tea is served in a giant glass something a faux southerner like myself appreciates. My meat eating family members leave happy also. We have never had a bad experience or dish served to us.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
