My husband and I can be considered "regulars" at this restaurant, the staff there, they all know our names and what we usually order. The reasons we became regulars are many! Friendly staff, quick service, great food, excellent value ... What more can you ask for?! I am the director of a local nonprofit organization and once a year we hold a volunteer appreciation dinner - guess where? We schedule it in the late afternoon to avoid the mealtime crowds and the owners go way above and beyond to ensure that everyone in our party is happy. I would (and have many times!) fully recommend the Chatterbox Restaurant.

I had two eggs sunny up, home fries, bacon and wheat toast. Toast was toasted hours before and had some strange wanna be butter, gelatinous stuff on it. Bacon was fine, eggs and home fries had no flavor. I dont use ketchup but I had to on this dish. Will try one more time, maybe get a lunch item next time. It was clean and the waitress was sweet :)

Basic but thorough menu, All-American fare, Friendly staff unchanged for years, and a pleasant (new) location a block from where they used to be. A favored spot for breakfast, where I always order a cup of chili to complement my scrambled eggs and spuds. Seldom disappointed and happy they reopened after a lengthy hiatus.

We enjoy Chatterbox for a quick breakfast. Typical greasy spoon type place... Eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes. My boys love the cheeseburgers and fries... I love the grits!

We went for breakfast on a recent Sunday morning, there was 5 people in our group. We were sat almost immediately, which was a pleasant surprise, as we expected any breakfast place we went to to be packed. The server was nice and took our drink orders right away. The food took *forever* to come out, I'm thinking they must have a small kitchen or maybe were understaffed that day. I ordered the Mexican burrito, with chorizo, eggs, salsa, cheese and jalapenos. It was tasty and gets 2 thumbs up from me. Overall, the prices of the food were very reasonable and everyone in the group was satisfied with their meal. I would go back again soon.

I've driven past Chatterbox many times so my wife and I finally decided to stop in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. My first impression was that it was very clean, which is always good. We wanted to sit at a booth but they were all taken, except for one but it hadn't been cleared yet. We ordered our coffee, and I had the 3-egg veggie omelette with hash browns and rye toast. It came out quickly, hot, and cooked perfectly. Best of all it was only $5.99. My wife had the special with 2 eggs, hash browns and toast, and it was only $3.95. Great prices, quality food, clean, and quick and friendly service.

Good food great prices. Most expensive item is steak and eggs for $7. Many items under $5. Good solid American breakfast. Clean. A lot of locals eat here which is always a good sign. Nothing fancy but lots of choices. They even have breakfast burritos.

I found Chatterbox with a Yelp search for a good breakfast, so I stopped by this morning to check it out. Chatterbox is located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Alderman and Alt 19 in Palm Harbor. Another landmark is that it's just across the street from another excellent restaurant, Gyro King. It's inside a nice standalone building, with a basic, very clean decor, and a expansive 2 story open ceiling over the main dining area which sets it apart from most other restaurants of this type. When I pulled into the lot, I recognized the universal sign that usually marks a good, well-priced meal......a police car! I've almost always found that if the dining room has any first responder in it, I'll end up liking my meal. Chatterbox is what I'd call a classic family restaurant or diner, featuring a huge selection of breakfast options and specials at great prices, all served up to 3pm. And as good as I found the breakfast this morning, from 11am to close they have a very complete menu of classic entrees and daily specials. Most all of the daily specials are priced at $6-7, and include potato, salad/cole slaw and bread. The choices in the specials include a number of things I know I'll check out, like Cajun fish and turkey and dressing....especially since they have Amberbock/Bud/Bud Light drafts for $1.35 daily. But we were here for breakfast, so after considering the huge list of options (including breakfast burritos) I decided on the Mexican Omelette. Turned out to be a good choice, as it arrived stuffed with chorizo sausage, cheese, red onions, jalapenos, with salsa and a choice of home fries or hash browns. Mr. Big Spender decided nothing was to good for him today, so he went all out and upgraded the standard toast to a biscuit for $.35. Service was quick, attentive and friendly with our orders taken quickly, and the meals arriving just a few minutes later. The omelette was quite good, with all of those flavors blending well. The home fries (fresh potatoes sliced thin and pan fried) were ok, but just too plain tasting....which is what I usually find when ordering them. They were not oily (as I often find them), they just weren't seasoned well, and simple salt & pepper didn't raise them much. They could have used something like onion or garlic with herbs to hit the mark. Next time I'd order hash browns, as since they're frozen and fried, they should end up having a taste close to french fries. The biscuit was A-OK, though, so it was a nice finish to a very filling meal. All in all, for what I recall was about $5.35, it was a very good meal, especially considering I could have easily spent that on a breakfast at a fast food place. What can I say....once again, it was the police car/fire truck/ambulance test for the win. On the diner scale, I'd rate it: Atmosphere: 4 Service: 4 Food: 4 Value: 5

I cannot believe no one has written a review for this little lovely little corner. I used to come here EVERY MORNING when I worked in Palm Harbour, some times I come here twice a day. I don't know, maybe because I was away from home, this place give me a little bit of what I was lacking at the time. Whenever I am down or I miss home, I will come here because there isn't a good Taiwanese places I can go to XD. Also because their food taste the same all the time, no matter how my life has changed, its like I needed something that doesn't change at the time. Before I moved to Florida I was not familiar with American Family style restaurant, there isn't such thing like this in Los Angeles. This place is nothing fancy at all but I just love it! Before I moved to Florida I rarely have American style breakfast and I dislike it, because Asian cooking is so readily available in LA. I've had some real basic "first-time" experience here, such as home fries, Belgium waffle, eggs for breakfast (I didn't eat eggs for breakfast because they made me sick), ground steak, grits, biscuits and gravy... etc. Can you see what a American food ignorant I was before I moved to FL? I always order Vegetarian Omelette with Whole wheat toast and grits, or Belgium waffle with scramble egg scrambled light. The whole meal would be under 5 bucks, I cannot find places like this in LA. It's cheap, delicious, and they are super friendly all the time. The first month I came back to LA I went to the super market and bought everything I need to duplicate that breakfast, I made it but it wasn't the same. I wasn't eating at work, and I didn't miss home because I was home already. However til this day I'd always get that breakfast whenever I can. I hope the owner is still the same couple, I think the owner is Hispanic and his wife is Greek. They make awesome salsa, and pretty descent Greek salad! I love almost everything they have, for dinner I usually go for the Grouper and rice. They always give you half of a lemon to go with the grouper, and also string beans fried with bacon. I even went back to this restaurant when I visited Tampa a few years ago to see my friends, and they all thought I was weird, and just like I expected, they tasted the same! This restaurant is what "home" tasted like throughout the time I was in Florida. I will never forget it :).

I was excited when I came across them, however I regret my decision very quickly. It was horrible!!! I can assure you I will never come back! The waitress wasn't the friendliest, the fastest, or attentive. The meal sucked it was without flavor and it was just overall bad. It took forever.

Let me begin with a note for all the parents out there- the high chairs were all spotless! Now, that said: Very friendly staff who went out of their way to give us ideas of where to take the kids- local parks, aquarium, etc. Food was very good and the price was a bargain considering the portions, brought out quickly. We really enjoyed the food and friendly staff. Great spot to take the family for breakfast. When they tell you the pancakes are big, trust them. A last note to parents: clean bathrooms!

I've visited this place twice on a Sunday for breakfast. Both times, I ran into my regulars from Old Town Cafe during the week. They obviously love it. In fact, they told me about it. The food is good, service is excellent, and the place has the atmosphere of locals. That's a good thing. I'll be back soon.
