Went today with the family and thought it might be a bad experience. When we walked in there was only 1 server. But within a few minutes of being seated we were greeted nicely, drinks, chips, and salsa quickly arrived. I had the Carnitas in salsa verde...amazing! Wife had (sp) Chilaquiles Mexicanos. Chicken had great flavor. Another person had the Vegetarian Chimichanga and the vegetables were perfect. The portion size is incredible and worth it. Not to expensive. Service was spot on and friendly. I will be back.

Horrible service! First they seated 4 of us at a table for 2, then took forever to take our order. Food came out wrong, drinks never refilled, etc. The worst part was the waiters attitude - sort of "I don't care if you ever come back" attitude. This was one of the worst service experiences I've had in a while. The food - average, run of the mill, mass produced food. We are never going back!

We have never had a bad meal at this traditional Mexican restaurant. My husband only complained about the refried beans having too much garlic. The food was served hot, quickly and cheerfully. Definitely a repeater.

Underwhelming. The salsa and margaritas are below average. Our service was poor and these were our chips. (See picture)

Always a good place for good food. They are always busy and in the restaurant biz that only means one thing... This is a good place to eat. Drinks are always large and well done. Beer is cold. We just can't say anything but this is a good deal. Thanks Salsas we will be back.

I have always had pretty good experiences here. Only once that I remember I got the food home and it was a bit cold; and I'm only 5 mins drive from here, so it shouldn't be cold. Other than that, I usually get the burrito loco, a huge burrito on a 14" tortilla. In my opinion, that's how all burritos should be. It comes with a bag of chips and salsa which makes it enough for 2 meals easily. It isn't super authentic mexican taqueria style, but it is some good tex-mex.

My initial review what have been three stars, for food and service (our second waiter added a star - first waiter left us to go on break 5 minutes into service and did not let anyone know). Food was tasty and seemed fresh, but that was a cover-up for the after math - bloating and discomfort. It's been a couple hours now and in between the bloating and headaches, we will not forget Salsas

Absolutely love Salsas in Port Orange. So when we moved to Palm Coast and found a Salsas here we were thrilled! Been there a few times since moving and the food is good but the place is so small that there is almost always at least a half hour wait. The booths and chairs are coming apart and the whole place is filled with an inch of dust on the wall hangings, window sills and ceiling fans. The food and prices are good enough to keep us going back but a good cleaning, some new furniture and well more room to serve more people would be a good thing to consider!

We had the molcajete which was very good. A lot of meat, chicken and shrimp. The shrimp were very big and good. The service was below par. The waiter seemed to have and attituded problem. Will give it another chance.

Today was the last time I will ever walk in that building. Taste is ok, nothing spectacular, but this food leaves you suffering. I have felt aweful the last two times. No thanks, I prefer my meals to make me feel better not sitting with a stomach ache all afternoon/night. ( last 2 meals, Chipotle chicken and some taco salad) I'll make my own Mexican from here own out.

Certainly not the best I have been to, but hands down best nearest St. Augustine. It's really about 3 stars, but I am giving it 5 to make up for this unnecessary 1's. We have been here 3 times now, and we will be back.

We stopped by here, a group of 9, and had a very good experience. Food was excellent and arrived quickly. No complaints from the group.

My husband and I were visiting Palm Coast for the weekend and tried this place the wait was not long for a table but after being seated, it took 15 minutes before the hostess came back to see if anyone had taken our order and no one had been there to ask for drinks or if we were ready. After finally getting someone we ordered drinks and asked for a minute to look over the menu she again disappeared. The food was we got it was very good but will not go back because of service.

The previous negative reviews do not match our experience at this restaurant in Palm Coast. We have been there several times since they opened with several different people and everyone has loved the food. The service has almost always been very good.

With such a large hispanic population in the US, it's no surprise that Mexican fare is pretty much everywhere these days - it's also awesome for those of us who love rich, flavorful, ethnic foods (myself being one of those.) Growing up in Southern California gave me an even greater appreciation for Mexican food - one of my favorite cuisines; but perhaps it made me a bit of a "mexican food snob" as well. Thankfully, this review is just as much about the abhorrant service as it is the bland, albeit exceptionally salty fare at this establishment. The short of it: It took waaaay too long. Our waiter didn't speak enough english to answer questions about the food, nor to take our order properly. As soon as we entered we ordered chicken fingers for our daughter (who's a bit of a slow eater.) to be brought out ASAP - from then until the time we left we saw neither hide nor hair of those chicken fingers - they forgot them - and after our ~45 minute wait for food we weren't willing to gamble and wait for the fingers - my daughter just shared my wifes enchiladas. I had the burrito - and I've heard that salt is often used as a food preservative - which made we wonder why they needed to cure the chicken in the burrito. It was waay too salty, but I suppose that's the only spice that went into my dish. In short, management doesn't seem to care about the food, the staff doesn't seem to care about serving it, and the kitchen apparently knows little about cooking. I'd give this a big two "thumbs down" and recommend you stay away from this place. PS. I mentioned to management the slow service (about 40 minutes after we ordered) and the lack of chicken fingers, his response was "let me look into that", but then I never heard from him again. Perhaps he's the reason why our food came out 5 minutes later, but I'd at least expect some sort of "I'm sorry, despite our dining room being less than half full and our patio being empty, our kitchen is incredibly busy" Also, the margerita mix is apparently made from a large quantity of Sprite (or at least that's what they tasted like.)

I'm surprised by all the negative reviews. I came here with a group of 8 and we were all happy with the price, proportions, and most importantly, taste of our food! Drinks and food (we went at lunch time) were priced really well. I recommend it!

Good Palm Coast Mexican restaurant. I like coming here once in a while for a good Mexican meal. Service has always been good to me here. My favorite thing to order is the Super Burrito Loco a huge burrito that takes up an entire plate for around $10. Their flan is also a great way to finish the meal.

I've only been here one time and it was for lunch. I had the shrimp enchiladas and thought they were good. The Mexican/Spanish rice was actually the best I've ever had in a restaurant and the Margarita was good!

It is the worth so called Mexican food. Food is bland, waitress did not even know the menu items when asked a question followed by poor service and 30 minutes wait for our order. Will not go again.

Three stars for food. Substract one star for service. The manager was kind enough to take our order when the waiter disappeared. The manager brought our food too. The waiter showed up once mid-meal to ask if the food was good. Then he disappeared again so finally we went to the front desk and asked for our bill and paid there. We left a small tip which we haven't done in 20 years. Food was good but service negates it.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
