When we first arrived on the shores of this strange and distant land, known as "Orlando" to its inhabitants, the beer scene was as empty and unsatisfying as an American Idol contestant covering Justin Bieber. At that time, only Redlight Redlight -- a brash little beer parlor perched above a bakery -- stood stalwart against the threat of AB Inbev's and MillerCoors' evil machinations aimed at owning the palate of every beer drinker in the City Beautiful. Since that time, we have witnessed an explosion of local breweries across Florida serving handmade drinkstuffs to their beer loving patrons. We were thrilled to see another opening (well re-opening) in the up and coming East End Market area of Winter Park. So, we loaded up the car and headed over to 1809 East Winter Park Road to experience opening day for ourselves. Not only is WPBC a nice space for hanging out, they make darned good beer too. They have a rotating line-up of their own beer made on premisses as well as a few selections from the Evil Empire. Everyone in our party picked something different so we could sample all of their handmade offerings. The crowd's favorites were Dave's Pale Ale, refreshing and moderately hopped, along with the Rollins' Rye, named for the nearby Rollins College. Overall, we enjoyed our first time enough to head on out that way again soon, hope to see you there!

I wouldn't consider anything they serve beer. It may have been fermented with beer yeast but it was far from beer. I got two flights which was eight different "beers." They were all terrible. The staff was friendly hence the two stars. Would avoid at all costs.

Taps From Scratch is now Winter Park Beer Company! And with the name change comes a legit stamp that all licenses are up to date! The location is both good and bad. It is directly across from the Audubon Park Community Market on Mondays (next to ABC Liquor), but that also means that it is across from Stardust and a hop, skip, and a jump away from Redlight Redlight- Both of which have been cultivating a loyal fan-base for quite some time... Walking in, the place looks MUCH more legit now. The interior is full of twinkle lights, small rooms for groups, and glitter ceiling tiles. It looks like what I imagine an acid trip might look like. Somehow, this comes off as charming and not creepy. I got a home-brewed beer at the bar, where the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. Though it felt like I was an outsider (given the shocked glanced of the other patrons), she was very welcoming! My friends and I chose a room and played some chess (it was the game room, apparently!) while sipping on our beers. The room next door had a piano in it, and all of the rooms were decorated with artwork for sale by local artists. Should you feel like a night of overstimulation (in a good way!) and beer after the Monday night market, take a stroll and land at the Winter Park Beer Co. Worst case scenario, you'll have a good story to tell!

Love this place. It's a small bar but very eccentric. A lot of the people there are really nice and they have a really good selection of beers. They also have a free pool table and a food truck out back. What's not to love!

We stopped by WPBC after a quick visit to Redlight, Redlight around the corner. I love the artsy vibe and the attached gallery; very unique and very cool. We made our way over to the bar area and ordered a flight to share. I love the little fridges that hold the kegs (logs?) and was cracking up at the little mason jars that the flights come in. We shared the chocolate porter (fabulous), the cream soda (dangerously soda-like, I could have had so much more than a tasting), the wheat retreat (my sister's favorite, my least favorite), and the jalapeno hefe (by far my favorite). The beers are distinct and original, as is the location. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we had stopped by on trivia night and found a team of two willing to let us play with them -- and then we won the first round! This place was a happy find - I see some negative reviews here but I had nothing bad to say except I wish there were more tables (it did get pretty crowded once trivia was up and running) and I wish I could get the jalapeno hefe closer to home!

Well, I was going to send a letter to the owner, but the picture of "David" here sure looks like the guy who abused us on our visit. I'll post my letter here and decide whether to send it or not. However, it is unbelievable to me that the person who "served" us was the owner. Here it is: On Saturday afternoon, August 1, I and 3 others came into your establishment to try it out for the first time. Three of us live in Orlando and I was visiting. Three of us are in our 60's and looked forward to our "pub crawl" trying places out. When we got there, 2 of us ordered from the person there and one person asked for a sip of 2 draught beers because we were unfamiliar with your beers, although all of us consider ourselves connoisseurs, as two of us brew our own at home. Upon asking for the 2nd taste, the bartender, a young Black man in perhaps his early 20's, said to her "are you going to taste ALL our beers??" with a snide expression. If I had heard that, we would have left. As it was, he was rude and unfriendly the rest of our time there. In fact, during our single beer, he just left the bar and strolled across the street to grab a bottle of something to drink. After that, he went out and skate-boarded outside the bar. This was unconscionable behavior. You should know about it, because he single handedly will be driving people OUT of your establishment. We visited 3 more breweries/taprooms after our time at Winter Park and, asking for tastes at those places, we were met with only politeness and eagerness to please.

Lol we don't what the hell this place is about but it sure isn't "beer" or atmosphere, honestly save your money and attend any of the near surrounding bars or "craft" beer brewery's. Place.is .a.joke.

We were greeted by David (the Owner/Brewer,) as soon as we walked in and he was awesome! He hung out with us and told us all about the beers. I certainly had expectations of the beer coming from Colorado and this place did not disappoint. Great vibe and beers! Cheers.

Things that I loved about my visit to the Winter Park Beer Company this evening: - The location is great... the bermuda triangle of awesome is completed with Redlght Redlight, Stardust, and BB&B (and this spot lies right within the goldilocks zone for booze establishment success). - The artwork and layout is on point... funky feel, cool lighting, different themed rooms, games, and dollar bills hung from a decorated ceiling like wannabe Tibetan prayer flags. - (some of) The beer was good! I did a flight and loved two of the choices very much. Things I did not love about my visit to the Winter Park Beer Company this evening: - 3/4 of the beers I had in the flight were served warm. I am into trying new things when it comes to craft beers but a warm brew is no bueno and it definitely had an effect on the taste. - The bartender was kind of a jerk. I got a snotty retort when I asked if the Kool-Aide Red Ale tasted anything like Kool-Aide (how dare I?) and the attitude felt like he was too cool to be a bartender but would do us the favor because he lost a bet. Not a welcoming vibe at all. I will probably check this place out again next time I am tipping one or two back in the area because I love to support local breweries, but if you only have the time for one or two places be sure to hit the trifecta first!

Even though I can't drink any longer, this place has a cool factor that is off the charts! My wife was happy with the beer and wine choices. There were some cool people to socialize with and the band that was playing was great. I am pretty sure my wife and I will be back to this place...

This place gets 2 stars because the staff was very friendly. I went here with a good friend of mine and we were both surprised at how bad the beers were at this place. It was bad! When we arrived we were both excited to try the different beers on tap, so we ordered 2 flights with different beers in each. They were all terrible! It seemed as if they tried to ferment sodas and make them into beer. I can say without a doubt I will not be returning and will not recommend this place to any of my friends!

They're always out of beer and the few they have left are terrible. Awful service and it's usually empty so it's not that they're too busy to help. The bands that play are actually pretty good but it doesn't merit a second star.

Completing my recent tour of Audubon Park, we stopped in here for a night cap. Hello sparkly ceilings. They are hand painted by one for the owners. We grabbed some drinks and cheese balls and then headed into one of the back rooms to play some games. We played sequence which I had never played before but luckily others in the group had. I'm glad this place is getting back on track.

Too small of an area for trivia. If they want people to participate, they need to make it bigger. Not enough seating. The sliders were nothing to write home about and not worth ten dollars. Curtis Earth needs to request more seating. Parking was inadequate. Had to park at ABC Liquor and chance getting towed. Thanks, Earth.

Decided to check this place out on a Friday night at 9pm. First I will say I love the concept. The upside: Lots of "Home-brewed" beers and the two we tried were wonderful. The downside: everything else. There was trivia going on when we walked in. The MC had the sound uncomfortably loud. After ordering the beer we tried to get away from the noise but there were speakers in the back of the bar so the farther we got from the trivia the louder it got. We ended up going outside to sit so we could carry on a conversation without yelling but this turned out to be the smoking area so we tried back inside but it was just to loud. I would love to find a place to have a good craft beer where you can carry on a conversation without having to scream over the music or other "entertainment".

This place is so cool! Awesome environment, games in the back, really cool rooms to walk into, paintings, food beer, local music some nights, and bartenders are very friendly.

What a cute little place! I kind of felt like I was relaxing in someone's house, but someone who also has very good taste in beer. There was a nice selection of their own beer and some guest taps. I love the building. There are a couple rooms with tables, chairs, and games to relax in. Walk around the place and look at all the local art on the wall. My friends and I took out a board game and played it at the bar. We also ordered pizza and brought it in. Great place to relax with a group of friends.

This place is pretty cool. It has a lot of small rooms that give you the feel of privacy. Each room is colorfully decorated with local artists' works. One room has a piano in it. Another room has plastic dinosaurs to play with. The atmosphere is really nice. My only complaint is that I don't want to spend $5 for domestic beer. I got an Irish creme which was really good but I could only have one drink because they were out of ingredients.

Great, fun spot. Kinda divey, kinda hipster, lot of attitude. They brew their own beer & they paint their own art, and with a lot of little rooms, its easy for a group to have a little bit of privacy to relax and enjoy a nice brew. The only knock against them, is they don't have a ton of beers on tap.

So disappointed in this place. We were excited to have a new craft beer place in Winter Park but the cigarette smell was so strong we had one beer and left. Less craft beer atmosphere... more dive bar.

This place is the best!!! A local bar with local people!! The art is amazing and the beer is delicious! There are private rooms that are great for groups and also awesome for just a couple of friends!! I would recommend this place to anyone!
