Another lunch time favorite! Plenty of options for everyone from sushi to steak. There are plenty of options including bento boxes and of course stir fry. It is quite popular with my co-workers and we come quite often. There are many lunch specials to choose from so everyone is usually happy. I had a bento box with veggies and it was tasty, I really loved the miso soup. Note - lunch will cost about $10. I haven't been for dinner though.

This was our 2nd visit. First time would have been 5 stars, phenomenal server (don't recall her name) great steak skewers, pomegranate tea was on point, and the sushi we had in an appetizer and also for our meal was as expected, neither amazing or awful but we eat sushi often. Today we had a family member in town who likes Japanese cuisine and this place came to mind over others we've tried recently. We repeated our order of steak skewers, fantastically medium as ordered, and pomegranate tea all around. I ordered a new type of sushi to try it, nice bit of spice and flavor. However, our server, Linda, neglected to realize the 2 orders of Medium Steak & noodle Hibachi dinners that had been sitting "in the window" more like sitting on top of a shelf above the grill. They should have had a food-runner assist Linda to bring our hot food on time, to make it worse, the cook simply re-dropped the steak, cooking it again which makes it taste like left-over steak. My Fiancé couldn't stomach the reheated food and when we told the server, Linda, what happended she simply stood there like we told her our puppy died earlier that day, she started to walk away then affirmed that at least we liked the tea... And that it was "a plus" with a double thumbs up. I sat in complete shock. I've waited tables at Denny's & Cracker Barrel with more class. Linda tried to be a goof ball and play it off. Worst server ever. Didn't offer to cook it fresh, didn't offer to take it off the bill. I want to say: "Avoid Linda" but there were many missed opportunities by the cooks re-dropping meat beyond the ordered style and no other server helping drop her food. Let's say we won't go back for a while and will ask for a different server if she's still there.

When one thinks of a Hibachi restaurant, one thinks of those Japanese Steakhouses where a group of diners sit around a large flat top grill and watch a Chef prepare their meal. The Hibachi Chef spins an egg on a spatula and breaks it open, as the table erupts in applause. The food is in abundance and includes rice, noodles, vegetables and some type of protein be it chicken, steak or shrimp. The meal is a big spectacle, it is more about the entertainment than the meal itself. Salmon and rice However, sometimes one wants all the tastings of a Hibachi grill without the onion volcanoes and the shrimp toss. Sometimes you just want to go for the food. Urban Hibachi, with two locations in the Orlando, does just that. They simply just cook the food and bring it out for you without all the show. Usually lunch is time you just want to get in and eat. The menu at Urban Hibachi consists of sushi and Hibachi grilled fare. My companion Chad ordered the Salmon Hibachi lunch with vegetables and white rice. You don't quite get as much as a traditional American-Japanese Hibachi house, then again we were there for lunch as well. You have a choice of rice or noodles here, soup or salad. His salmon came out as one large piece instead of chopped up like other Hibachi places. I had the Scallop Hibachi luncheon with vegetables and noodles. The scallops were quite large but cooked well. I was not a fan of the noodles. They were quite oily and barely edible. Either the noodles were old and had been sitting in oil a while or the Chef just used too much oil in the cooking. Thankfully, the large scallops and the vegetables were enough to fill me up. Both our meals also came with a choice of soup or salad, of which we both choose the latter. Nothing more than a typical salad with ginger dressing. Other than the over-oiled noodles, no complaints on the taste of the food. It was all tasty and served little bowls of Japanese white sauce and soy sauces.

The customer service is good and the staff are friendly. I tried the Mexican roll and the eel roll - both were actually quite delish! The cheese cake tempura ice cream was very good -- I thought I was getting tempura ice cream but the cheese cake is the fried portion. I like that they have outdoor seating (about 4 tables), a bonus for enjoying a meal when the weather is perfect. If nothing else, I'm sure that the happy hour specials will bring me back. Happy Hour is 4pm-6pm and they offer $2-$3 beers, $3 appetizers, regular rolls are $3.95, specialty rolls are $6.95 and $1 sushi/sashimi.

This might be a bit pricey when you can get Kobe, but I am never disappointed! When I want a quick hibachi dinner or lunch, this is my go to. (I do not really eat sushi so I can not give feedback about that) The food is always hot and fresh and the staff is always kind and willing to help.

Visited this place on a weekday. I ordered chicken teriyaki with brown rice. Chicken had no tepanyaki flavor and brown rice tasted old. It tasted like it was reheated from long time cold storage. Looked like the restaurant was not carrying out well the sanitary practice ...

My initial reaction: hopeful and excited considering the modern and trendy decor. Sadly things were put into a damper. The server was lackluster and the rolls were just the same. I split the ninja, inferno, spicy tuna, and bonsai rolls. The last three came out on the same plate and we had to guess that much--the server just noted the ninja was on the way and bolted (which I could understand if it was busy but maybe they). The food wasn't bad but there was slightly too much rice on the rolls and it tasted off; it was dry. The chef does know what they are doing though as the spicy tuna was good (simpler rolls execute quality of ingredients and proportioning). The inferno was really good but text it wise in thought a little crunch to go with the Krab would take it to another level since it's a fairly soft roll. The bonsai left me underwhelmed as all the fish actually lacked flavor--signs of low quality cuts, as I think it was supposed to have yellowtail which is both a light and flavorful fish--couldn't distinguish it from the tuna. The ninja was good, the ponzu accentuated the delicate flavors of the fish. Only real complaint is the INACCURATE pricing of rolls on the menu to what rang up on our bill. An $11.50 bonsai roll is really $12.50 (which for the quality I'd actually have paid that price for a ninja not bonsai; ninja rang up $10.50). So be wary of the potential to be paying more than you expected. I would have just told the server myself except she seemed to be avoiding us after we paid. And in retrospect a posh atmosphere and fresh fish do come with a price tag--although I prefer it being accurately reflected right from the initial order menu. I'll give this place another try next time I'm in town. Maybe. So in short: Pros: atmosphere, food Cons: service, pricing

Oh how I love this place. Went there for a quick dinner at the bar. Ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box for the first time because I wanted a little bit of everything and I did the trick. You really can't go wrong with this place. Service is quick and it's very good commercial sushi and Hibatchi cuisine. The prices are unbeatable. I am so happy I live down the street!

It's a good fast alternative lunch if you don't want to go to Kobe but the food is nothing super special. I tend to get the steak hibachi and it comes at a decent price, they fill up the plate with noodles which is very filling. A good lunch spot!

  • Carolina M.

Their sushi is great! The hibachi is good but I have had better. It isn't typical hibachi where they cook at your table. The kitchen is open and you can sit around it or at a table in which you can view them cooking, but not hibachi in the traditional sense. It's a small place with only a few tables. I'd say just go for the sushi, it's awesome!

  • Megan M.

I've done take out here a few times but I'm giving up on Urban because they always screw something up. Ordered steak medium rare and it was well done, put mushrooms in food when asked specifically for them to be left out, forgot a side salad, the list goes on...also charge extra for white sauce when they don't give you enough in the first place. It's overpriced already. Good food but take your money to Kobes.

I was a little disappointed when I walked in here and realized that the only hibachi table was one you couldn't sit at. It's a very small place with tables scattered around and a cold atmosphere. I though the prices were pretty reasonable until I noticed you had to choose soup OR salad and rice OR noodles for your meal. I was hoping to get all of it like at most hibachi restaurants. I also asked for only zucchini for my vegetables and they said it would be a $2.00 up charge for that, which is absolutely ridiculous. The service was poor, water glasses remained empty for a while, and our food also took a very long time to come out. The table next to us got their food before us and they came in about 20 minutes after we did. So not sure what kind of system they have going on. The food was decent, although the fried rice was a bit crunchy and you did not get very many shrimp for the dinner like other places I've been to. I don't think I'll be giving Urban Hibachi another shot or recommend it to my friends.

This is such an awesome place to go to. I feel like it is very low-key. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is awesome, and the customer service is excellent. For anyone who loves hibachi food that is quick, this is the place to go. It's also helpful that the prices are very budget friendly.

Small. But very good. Freshness and overall quality of the sushi was a surprise. Not expensive. Quick and attentive waiters.

Came to this little trendy spot because we absolutely LOVE hibachi and I am a sucker for a good, fresh California roll. And to my luck, they had the California rolls on sale for 3.50$ Score. My husband and I ordered the "hibachi combo" which included fried rice, grilled broccoli, carrots and onions and some of the juiciest steak, chicken and shrimp I've ever had. For real. The rice was more creamy and soft than I am used to, but it was absolutely delicious and a nice change and improvement. We had two kids with us and since they did not have a kid menu and the kids were absolutely not interested in sushi or anything with vegetables, they offered to make us just noodles with a side of chicken, which the children enjoyed thoroughly. My only complaint was how small this place was. And because it is so small, you are sitting almost on top of the other guests. Don't even bother talking about anything remotely juicy or gossipy, because your neighbors WILL hear. Trendy spot where all of the waitresses and cooks have piercings, gauges or tattoos, so I definitely felt comfortable amidst the delicious food. WILL be back.

So After the Cheesesteaks At Briantos in Avalon Park, After All the Fun in Barnett Park for DJs In the Park & A Quick Pit Stop to the After Party on the West Side We Got Really Hungry Again & Sushi Was Already On Our Minds So Remembered This Great Place (in another strip mall) was nearby so paid another visit & was just as good as the previous times except we saved room for dessert & what a great meal & feast we enjoyed start to finish!

This is some of the best quality simple Asian food in Florida. The chicken in the hibachi is great quality (no little bones or fatty bits). Their green tea came with one free refill and a decent size, so I was never without a beverage. Their seaweed salad is good but has a lot of cucumber in the bottom which o avoided. I would say all the food was good but not extraordinary.

Was not impressed at all!! I entered, and decided to sit at the sushi bar. They were blaring some kind of booty music which would have made any kind of discussion quite difficult. The guy preparing sushi clearly had an expression of utter disgust on his face. I smiled at him (smiles are contagious)- uhhh not in this case however. I then took a look at the LACK OF RAW FISH in the cooler- I asked if this was all they had left, and one of the waitresses was like yeeeeah. I walked out, texted my friend and decided to eat sushi elsewhere. As of now I don't have any reservation on returning to this place any time soon....

Always eat here a few times a month for lunch and dinner. Great prices and great service. I've never had a bad experience, very consistent with food. I bring people here all the time and they get hooked.

Don't order the steak, too dry and waitress says they keep in bowl of water. The shrimp was good.

We used to frequent this place when it first opened because food was really good and affordable compared to other hibachi places. However, our last visits have all been bad experiences especially the last one, when we decided to not come back anymore. I ordered the chicken and steak hibachi with fried rice and i specified i wanted the chicken with no teriyaki sauce, my boyfriend got a bento box. When the food came, the waitress only came with my boyfriend's bento box and she left. We turned back to see what was going on and the waitress was arguing with the chef because he put teriyaki on the chicken. So she came back to tell me the chef was going to fix it, so I thought he was going to cook the chicken again BUT NO! He put the chicken on a different plate and took it back to the kitchen and in less than a minute he was back with a happy face and put the chicken on the plate with the rice and the vegetables and gave it to the waitress. Since I dont know what he did with the chicken and I don't believe he cooked it back in just one minute, I refused to eat it. And this is how they lost a customer!

I wanted to try this place since it was right where I was running errands but the doors were locked. It is 3:30 in the afternoon on Thursday and their hours say they are open until 10:00 pm. Oh well. Sale lost I suppose.

I was craving tempura-fried sushi like crazy since having some with my BF, and Urban Hibachi is not only very close to our apartment, but has a special section of the menu dedicated to various tempura-fried sushi rolls. Jackpot! Okay, I should start with saying that I've had a very long-standing aversion to seafood and most of the other things that make up sushi rolls. But I love food and want to expand my culinary horizons, so I've been trying to eat it every so often. And although the taste and texture still gets to me a bit I have cravings for sushi once in awhile...my appetite is a mystery to me. Anyway, I've been bugging my BF to go with me here. We finally had a good opportunity to when we planned to go to dinner with a friend of mine whose only requirement for dinner that night was that "they serve wine". Alrighty, Urban Hibachi serves alcohol, yay! Off we went! We got there and it was decently crowded. A pretty small restaurant actually, but the interior was very nice and trendy. It put the "urban" in Urban Hibachi. There was some wait for a table as multiple servers and a manager seemed unsure of where we were going to be put. Service isn't the strong point of the restaurant, although they were all fairly friendly. We sat and immediately some glasses of wine were ordered. So, I'm not a wine person at all. I enjoy mixed drinks and liquor much more than beer or wine. But my BF ordered Plum Wine and OMG that is the stuff. I can't say whether this wine was any more special than wine from anywhere else, but it was quite tasty. We ordered some appetizers: fried calamari and tempura veggies. Both were average and we could have done without them. I had never had calamari either and I was a little worried; fortunately, it was a painless experience. Just an odd, chewy texture. Not for me really, but not horrible. My BF and I split the Hawaiian Roll, which comes with coconut shrimp, cream cheese, asparagus, and is wrapped in mango and avocado. It was definitely my favorite of the night. The mango is a great complement to the rest of the flavors being a mild, tropical fruit. I ordered the Rock and Roll for myself even though it had spicy tuna and I'm not much for spicy (I was going all outside the box for myself that night lol). Besides the tuna, it has scallions and masago and comes with a "cajun mayo" on the side. Very interesting. I was getting a bit full at that point though. My BF ordered the chicken and steak hibachi dinner and I enjoyed what I sampled off his plate. The meat tasted good and moist, and the noodles he had with it were yummy as well. All of our main platters that night had ingredients that tasted fresh and I enjoyed all the flavors. Overall, the food was really wonderful even though the service was just OK. I will definitely be back again probably during their happy hour.

Cheap rolls, outdoor seating, friendly service, great lemonade and good rolls and variety. Super cheap hibachi and good tasting food. I wish they used better sushi rice for their rolls because they kind of fall apart and don't taste as good but the other ingredients in the rolls are yummy. If they perfected their sushi rice they'd get 5 stars. And I was happy they have mochi ice cream, but wish they had red bean flavor!

  • Sabrina H.

I love Urban Hibachi for lunch. They have a $10 special that is fried rice, choice of a sushi roll and 2 chicken skewers. Hard to top that deal. Love the Las Vegas roll - snow crab and asparagus. If I lived over here, I am sure that I would try them for dinner. Their rolls are yummy and fresh. Drawbacks are that parking is difficult - the lot is small and shared by a lot of businesses and their service is slow. If you are a quiet person, it might not appeal to you because Urban Hibachi is constantly moving and rather noisy inside. There is a little bit of wait usually because it is so packed at lunch so allow plenty of time.

  • James H.

Not bad at all. Sushi was decently prepared. Very wide variety of rolls. Typical hibachi menu at a fair price, but it's definitely better than most in quality. The only negative thing I have to say is how some of the sushi rolls were cut; they were presented nicely but because they were cut so thin, it made for a tough time trying to pick them up with chopsticks. I will be back here.

I was really disappointed with the level of service especially having great service prior. Food came out late.... Had to flag down our server just to refill drinks and to top it off there was a hair in my food... I just don't understand what happened the food used to be so great now it's not even worth what you pay

The good....The sushi happy hour specials are very reasonable and tasty..They also have a restaurant.com gift certificate available (can not be combined with happy hour). Also, the service is excellent and very friendly. The bad.... It took a looong time to get the food and the tina appetizer and spicy edamame were fried and tasted like burnt oil.... I will certainly come back to try them out for happy hour and hopefully right a better follow up review.

I was in town for a conference and came to this restaurant for lunch. Although the interior was nice, my co worker and I experienced the worst service EVER!!! We waited over 45 min for an order of hibachi steak and an order of hibachi chicken. We watched a larger party receive their hibachi orders BEFORE we did despite the fact that we ordered at least 10 min prior to them. Their server checked on them, refilled drinks etc. We even had to go to the counter to get our drinks refilled. When we asked to speak to a manager, our server said she would check to see if she was there and later said she wasn't. Great food but HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Yajaira was the name of our server. She gave no apologies for her service when we brought it to her attention. So very disappointed.

We heard a lot of great things about this place so we decided to try it. After going, I will never go back. We waited a long time for our waitress to come over, a long time for our water, and about an hour for our food. When my food did come out, it had meat on it (I'm a vegetarian and ordered vegetables and tofu), and our waitress asked if I had to have it remade. She was very sarcastic and rude, and the food wasn't worth it. I wish I could remember our waitress' name, but I don't. I almost felt like we were on a hidden camera show because she was so awful. Very disappointed with this place.

Hmmmm, nice try is what I have to say about this joint. Some jive turkey was trying to get creative and wound up with a fast-food sushi experience at best. Call me old fashioned, but when you eat sushi traditional Japanese music in the background is appropriate. Someone had the house music blaring so loud I found myself looking around for some jive turkey DJ with his lid cocked side ways. Why was I looking for a DJ? So I could smack him upside the head with his turntable. This is more of a typical habachi joint and average at that. I had a couple pieces of your typical sushi rolls but I will say the smokey flavor of Inferno Roll is noteworthy. This spot will probably impress the younger locals who are living in sin in their first apartment, but not the sushi connoisseur with a discriminating palate. If you are a young hipster, living nearby, you can placate your sushi urge while getting your drink on in this joint.Youngsters these days think screaming over loud music is acceptable for casual dining. This place is OK, but nothing that will compel me to drive across town.

Great Sushi! Really a fan of their Sushi, and their Hibachi is amazing too! Totally worthy giving it a try.

Not sure why this place doesn't have 5 stars... I love sushi and hibachi but this is by far the freshest I have ever tried. All the vegetables, seafood and meat are amazing. The shrimp was huge and not fishy, steak melted in my mouth unlike many other hibachi restaurants. Service was great too. Recommend to anyone! Unfortunately they didnt have any coconut but I hear the rolls with coconut are amazing! Can't wait to try next time

Upon first glance, I wasn't sure what to think about Urban Hibachi. Yes, I do enjoy Japanese food, especially hibachi as well as sushi. However, I wasn't sure whether or not Urban Hibachi would be up to the caliber of a higher priced sit-down style hibachi restaurant. I do have to say that for the price, Urban Hibachi isn't bad. As a few other reviewers have noted, the portions are definitely huge. We decided to get sushi as an appetizer and then each ordered hibachi dinners and it was certainly more than enough food for two people. That being said, my food tasted fresh and delicious, and for some reason I distinctly remembered the oil that they cooked the vegetables and noodles in tasting incredible. The sushi that we ordered was tasty as well, but in all fairness I also have to note that the roll we ordered was pretty basic, and in the future I would love to try out some of their specialty rolls. As far as the atmosphere is concerned, the bright colorful lights and modern furniture give Urban Hibachi an enjoyable feel. My one complaint would probably be that the restaurant itself is small, and the tables definitely seem packed in tight. If you go to Urban Hibachi for dinner, I would suggest arriving early due to this. Also, I do distinctly remember that the night we tried out Urban Hibachi, our waitress was difficult to get ahold of...it seemed as if she was serving almost every table in the restaurant, which for a Friday night is definitely a deal breaker. Because of this bad service, I am giving Urban Hibachi 3 stars for the moment rather than 4. But at the same time I did enjoy the quality of the food, and so I will probably be back in the future to update this review as well.

Would like this place a lot more if it were cleaner. The Mosquitos every where are very nasty to me. Additionally the server I had one time would come to the table to check on me. She would turn around and put her phone back on her ear. If she were on hold for something is one thing but she was only gossiping in the phone. I don't think work is the most appropriate place for that.

They REALLY need to change this AWFUL policy!!! I come here for lunch a few times a month - it's close to my office. Sometimes service is slow, so to have a more relaxed experience, & not have to take most to go, I called in my lunch order but was told they would add 18% to my bill for this! WHAT?!?!? They're going to CHARGE ME for having slow service at lunch?! NOPE! EPIC FAIL. I hope they change this fast, otherwise they'll lose me as a customer.

I went here with my wife on her recommendation and also because they serve their rolls with brown rice upon request, additional fee of about $1 per roll. The rolls were super yummy and artistically prepared. Would you go here for atmosphere? No! Are you going to hear quaint Asian music in the background? No! It's called URBAN Hibachi for a reason. Service was prompt and friendly and the rolls were fresh.

Just tried this tonight on a Living Social coupon and i loved it. The choices are plentiful between Hibatchi platters and sushi. Ihad the bento box and even though i gulped a bit at the prices, i was plenty! I received a big section of rice, 2 piece california roll, 6 piece sushi and salad and miso and 2 shumai pieces. It all tastewonderful. The ambiance is hip and modern and the hibatchi guy can chop up shrimp WHILE being on his cell phone, i was impressed. I live a bit far but when im in the neighborhood i will most certainly stop by

Overpriced. They nickel and dime you for every little add on, including the white sauces. Placed a $64 pickup order. They forgot to include the salads. Not worth a return trip in my opinion. For the price you may as well go to Kobe.

Husband said the sushi is great & hibachi chicken with fried rice is awesome. I am a vegetarian & I got the vegetable & tofu. A suggestion, make sure you tell them not to mix your tofu in with the meat juices on the grill. Wasn't happy with that so I set my tofu aside cause it bothers my stomach. Other than that the fried rice was excellent. The grill was cleaned for that & the veggies.

I visited the Urban Hibachi on Kirkman road for lunch today. I have not been back to this location for quite a while and wanted to give it a try again. I was extremely unhappy with my visit and I will not be back again. First, the restaurant was way too hot. I was told by the server that that's is the way the manager likes it, but it was way too hot. The manager did turn down the AC but it shouldn't take me to ask especially with a kitchen practically in the dining room. Furthermore, I ordered a shrimp tempura bento box but wanted to get the hibachi shrimp instead of fried shrimp. I was told it would be an extra 2 dollars to switch out shrimp for shrimp. Plus, I wanted fried rice instead of the steamed rice...yet another dollar. I ended up paying almost 14 - 15 dollars for one bento box....just felt really nickel and dimed. Additionally, I purchased steamed goyza for an appetizer. The dish did not arrive to the table until the end of the meal. I ate two of the five and didn't really like the dish. They were really mushy and felt microwaved. I sent them back and asked that the are taken off the bill. The manger, Harley, came out and basically accused me of eating too many gozya to send back. She asked me if she could pan fry the goyza instead and I agreed but I still felt this was extremely inappropriate. She told me that if i didn't like it I should have only eaten one. I will never return to this restaurant again and not encourage anyone to eat there as well. Horrible customer service!

I've noticed this sleek spot on Arnold Palmer Drive in MetroWest, but never thought about giving it a try until today, as I was jonesing for some sushi. I walked in the door and was greeted by the sounds of Lady Gaga singing "Born this Way," (followed shortly afterward by Beyonce and Madonna). I thought I had stumbled into Pulse. My waitress was Caucasian. Don't get me wrong -- some of my best friends are white, but it takes me aback to be served by a non-Asian in an Asian restaurant. But that seems to sum up my feelings about Urban Hibachi -- the name of the place, the music, the staff all seemed kind of corporate. But on to the food: the eel and Yellowtail sashimi were quite good. The smoked salmon sushi, however, tasted as if it might have been delivered by Sysco. I also had two rolls, a vegetarian and the Urban Roll, presented nicely and nice to the taste buds. Though the experience was pretty pleasant, I'm more of a traditionalist. Still I'm glad MetroWest has a few ethnic offerings. As I was paying my bill and preparing to leave, "Born this Way" was playing again.

Absolutely love eating here! One of my favorite spots for sushi ever since moving out to Orlando. It's honestly a great place to go grab a quick lunch with a friend and for dinner the place becomes more relaxed. Great atmosphere. But what makes the restaurant even better is the service. Every time I have gone to eat, the waitresses have always been outstanding! My favorite dish is the Hawaiian Sushi Roll! Delicious! And their cheesecake bites are to die for! This place is definitely worth a visit!

The name says it all! There are a lot of new hibachi places in the area, but this one has that new modern feel. Prices are reasonable with different types of meat, including lobster! Food is good, prepared quickly as well, for those on their lunch breaks or in between classes. Place is kept clean and has a mellow setting. They also have another location on Sand Lake.

Great good and good attentive service. However for the size of the place the food took longer than expected. The parking situation is a mess, but that goes for the shopping center overall. Pretty upset they stopped taking Restaurant.com certificates.

When it comes to hibachi, there are a few basic requirements and "must haves": - Solid meat and seafood selection (Steak, chicken, shrimp, scallops, salmon and calamari) - Vegetables that are not overcooked with a balanced tender-to-firm ratio (broccoli, mushrooms, onions, zucchini) - Variety in selecting side dishes (noodles, white rice, fried rice) - White Sauce!!! Lucky for any of us stepping into Urban Hibachi, we not only get the basic requirements of a quality hibachi grill, but we also get the bonus of some healthier (or vegan) alternatives such as: - Tofu - Brown Rice (insert woot here!!) In addition to their Hibachi selections, they offer sushi, special rolls, robatayaki (skewers) as well as soups, salads and appetizers. I've enjoyed just about everything on their menu and I haven't had a bad item yet!! (That's gotta be a great sign!!) And I have to admit, once I found this place, I became quickly addicted. (I mean like, seriously addicted. I have been to a few places seeking tofu hibachi and they either cooked it wrong or didn't even offer it on their menu. What gives?!? And after eating at several different places, I've always either ended up back here for the tofu or regretted the fact that I wasted my taste buds energy on tasting something else) Needless to say, after frequenting Urban Hibachi, I have become a self-proclaimed hibachi snob!! :P hehe But of all the things you should walk away with here: - A full stomach from all of the delicious food you have just consumed - A wallet and bank account that has just thanked you (Their lunch specials are phenomenal. Seriously, $8.50 for a shrimp hibachi and noodles....where else are you going to get this price for the quality of dishes they offer???) The service staff is always very friendly and they sincerely try to personalize the service they provide as well as your experience. In fact, I'm already looking forward to lunching there tomorrow.....tonight, the sheep have a break and I'll be counting white sauce bowls in their place....mmmmmm

I stopped in for Lunch and half expected the reigning Dutchess Sharon W, " I love to point at my food" to be there. Sadly disapointed she wasn't, I ventured on. Based on her reviews and several others, I ordered the Salmon Hibachi with Brown Rice. I loved it and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size of the Salmon. Finally I can dine out eat a genuinely healthy and absolutely delicious and stay on budget. I see a bunch more visits in my future!

Great new addition to Kirkman Road. Their curries are out of this world, and while I'm not a sushi aficionado, what I had tonight was excellent. It's close to my office, so I will be a frequent guest. They also have a location on Sand Lake Road. Tip -- WiFi password is the phone number: 4072957777

I am a regular customer at Urban hibachi on Sandlake/John Young. Once they opened the one in Metrowest i was super excited because it is closer to home. The first time I went, I was with a larger party (6 people). The waitress forgot to bring 3 different side items for our orders, AND my food order did not come out until the other 5 in my party received their checks! She claimed the cook 'Did not get her order right', so i had to box my order to-go and eat it at home. It is obvious the staff is new and at times can not handle the larger parties. I went back a few weeks later and did see great improvements on the staff skill level. The food is always excellent. I love the ginger sauce!

I had a wonderful experience after trying the restaurant for the first time. I love what they've done with the limited amount of space that they had, and ate there with my wife for our anniversary. We had a great conversation and service from the Sushi Chef there (I forgot to get a name, unforunately). There was a bit of time where my soda cup was empty, but that's mostly because I drink like a fish. The sushi I had was off the tempura roll menus and was delicious, if not a little difficult to handle with chopsticks because of the size of the rolls. My wife ordered a bento box with the bbq short ribs, and everything in that was delicious as well. The miso soup we each had was also enjoyable, as was the hot sake that my wife decided to try. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience in japanese cuisine that goes far beyond the realm of merely hibachi or sushi dining. I look forward to returning to sample some of the hibachi menu's fare.

The food was very good - and a very good value. Servings were generous enough to share, and we all enjoyed the food. However, the service was absolutely horrible. The waitress was slow; she did not check back with us ever - we had to flag her down. She brought all the food out at once (appetizers and entree) and threw them on the table in front of 1 person for us to sort out among the 5 of us. When 3 of us asked for tea refills, she took all the mugs back at once and brought them all out - to the wrong person. We asked for boxes and bags to take home leftovers. After the service we'd experienced, we asked her to bring the boxes to us to box ourselves. She mixed up orders among the checks (2 parties - 2 checks). We asked for bags for our boxes. She brought the bags out and put them on the table and walked off - no offer to put our boxes in the bags. There seemed to be no manager onsite. I guess that explains the indifference of the wait staff.

    (3)
  • Carolina M.

Their sushi is great! The hibachi is good but I have had better. It isn't typical hibachi where they cook at your table. The kitchen is open and you can sit around it or at a table in which you can view them cooking, but not hibachi in the traditional sense. It's a small place with only a few tables. I'd say just go for the sushi, it's awesome!

    (4)

    (2)
  • Kelly H.

I really enjoy this restaurant. The sushi and the hibachi is great. Unfortunately the service is lacking and they never answer the phone!!! Aside from that the food is very yummy

Excellent sashimi, generously served. $21 for a platter at lunch that serves two. Attentive service and an upbeat urban ambiance.

Great sushi and hibachi was great. They have reasonable pricing on sushi and have a large variety of rolls. I highly recommend.

We ordered bonsai and Alaskan rolls and calamari noodle bowl. They were all very good, yet not extra ordinary. Miso soup was delicious and served hot. Excellent service.
