This is one of the newer Tijuana Flat locations. I've been going to Tijuana Flats in general since the late 90's, starting at their first location in Winter Park. They've expanded all over the place, as far away as North Carolina. What's great is the owner went to UCF. I should really eat here more often, since it is a "local" chain, even though I just mentioned the NC bit (hopefully all the NC money is coming back to Orlando...*evil smile*). This location is about 1/2 mile from my office. I don't think any other restaurant could have done well in this location and right across the street from Chipotle too, which neither seems to take away business from the other. I guess people really love their pseudo Mexican food. There used to be a car stereo place here called "something" in the box. Next door is Plato's Closet, a second hard women's clothing store, which looks to get a lot of business too. The workers are very friendly and will always ask to make sure you want all the toppings your order comes with. When the line is long, someone will take your drink order beforehand and bring it out to you as you're waiting on line. Super Cool! The long lines also go quick too, especially on their Taco Tuesdays. When I get flour tacos, I opt for the whole wheat. I enjoy their corn tacos over Chipotle. I had their un-burrito last time, which was good, but I think I like Chipotle's burrito bowl a little better. I guess It would depend on my mood more. You also get a bunch of options as fillings, such as ground beef, steak, chicken, black beans and refried beans. For dinner, I will usually get a Dos Equis amber as a drink. Nice combination!

I went here for Taco Tuesdays and found out I'm not a huge fan of their tacos. Something is just weird to me. It doesn't hit the yummy spot. What I do love is the flautas. The flautas are in a tex-mex style and comes with queso dip, sour cream and guacamole for your dipping pleasure. These just make me happy. Good grub to fill the belly. I just learned T-Flats no longer sells olives which is fine to me but olive lovers may want to bring their own if they want them. Flautas 4 stars, Tacos 2 stars so a solid 3 stars for this visit.

My favorite Tijuana Flats overall. Just great bubbly happy servers, excellent food. Very casual and beer is offered. You cannot go wrong here. Tuesdays can be extremely busy, but Taco Tuesday is obviously the best deal in town. You will love the hot sauce bar, something for every taste. I really love the sweet ones and the curry. I love the trio for the appetizer, but let's face it, I love everything here from the salads to the tostadas to the nachos to the burritos. I could go on and on. The tortilla chips are amazing.

Good service, the employees are friendly. The food is a little salty for me. But it's a good place for a quick bite.

Our favorite location for this chain, close to the house and the food and service are consistently excellent. We have been going here a lot lately and everything is delishapalooza! Burritos, tacos, enchiladas, you really can't go wrong.

I love Tijuana flats and taco tuesday :) the only reason I can not give this location 4 or 5 stars is because of the parking situation as well as the length of time it takes to get food. The parking at this location is terrible. The main parking area is in the back and there is no where near enough parking spots for any day that they have a special going on. I have also found that the food takes a bit longer to be ready at this location than others. The food is good and consistent though.

The services was on point. Very efficient!!!! Like I don't even wait for the food. Definitely, I will return and the refill is a plus!

Excellent service. I didn't like something I ordered and nice lady changed it out for me no questions asked. Good service.

This is the best Tijuana Flats around. The best service, food is outstanding- you can't go wrong at this place. Beware, Tuesdays have specials so it can be busy. Love it.

I'm obsessed with the chicken flautas. I like that they don't use corn tortillas, and even convince myself that the wheat tortillas are a healthier option (I usually get them with wheat every other visit - lol). :) I love their queso as well.

Try a burrito. Excellent. I agree with the Yelpers who say grilling it is a good idea. Grilling it is a good idea. Tried this place for the first time and I was impressed. It was cheap and delicious. Also spotted a few healthy options of which I did not partake. Was surprised to learn it is a chain, and a fairly big one at that. And now, I'm going to be that asshole who reminisces about the burrito joint he used to frequent in California/Texas/Mexico/etc. Mine was in California, and every day for three very happy hours, you could get a strong 99cent margarita. Its name was El Ranchero, it was in Claremont, and I shall not forget it. That said, and I'm sorry to have said it, Tijuana Flats could really use a happy margarita hour. If anyone can direct me toward one, I'll give you a dollar.

I love Mexican food and I love the fast casual concept. I want to love TF's but the food quality and quantity are lacking. Taco Tuesday is a gimmick yet seems to be working. Two Tacos, chips and a drink for under $6 sounds great but I left hungry. That same $6 could be a filling burrito across the street at Chipotle. The chips don't come with salsa...this is obviously to drive cheese dip sales....another gimmick. The chicken and beef are low quality. The refried beans are mush without any actual beans. The ordering system is goofy. I hate restaurants that scream out names. It is completely unprofessional. The only positive thing you have going is the service. Always nice, quick and uniform with other locations. Don't make this a national chain....you will fail.

How can you screw up Mexican food? I think this place is only popular because of the hot sauce bar and the cool ambience so it gets an extra star for that but the food is horrible , I have tried a couple different locations over past couple of years and I am always very disappointed. Today I ordered a chicken burrito and it was a few pieces of diced band chicken, tomatoes and onions with 2 slices of jalapeño on a HUGE tortilla. I had to rip off half of the tortilla to get a bite with anything other than flour tortilla. Put this burrito next to a chipotle burrito and it will run away crying from the shame.

Love TF no matter where I go but really like this location. Nice people!! And they always seems to have Georgia peach at the hot sauce bar which is my favoriteee

Went back a few weeks ago, courtesy of the manager and got the same meal. Was excellent! Could have been an off night the other time, but it was really good and it was really professional of the manager to reach out to us. Will return!

I am all for anything that means more burritos in the general downtown area, so I was happy to see another Tijuana Flats crop up in the strip mall across the street from the East Colonial Target. It's surprisingly larger on the inside than it appears from the exterior and has several tables in front, as well (though you'll get much better people watching at the Thornton Park or College Park locations - this pretty much offers a view of incoming/outgoing Plato's Closet shoppers and the Lynx bus stop). The food and service are on par with other Tijuanas, and this chain deserves some credit for its consistency. Tijuana also continually add fiery new things to their hot sauce bar, which I appreciate. As for our order, we ordered a norrito (a burrito with no tortilla) and the flautas, and if you haven't had the latter, they're one of the better things on the Tijuana Flats menu - small fried tortillas stuffed with your choice of meat, with queso, guacamole and sour cream for dipping. Service was friendly and the wait was reasonable. They also do take-out.

It's huge! Not Fun Spot huge but for a TFlats... huge. You wouldn't think so from outside but it is. There is an entrance and additional parking in the back. There is a ton of seating inside and some outside. I didn't have the best customer service experience at this location but the delicious food was on point. I went in for a to-go order and was in the mood for tostadas, so delicious here. My other go to here are the nachos, chicken and cheese weakness. While I am waiting for togo orders, I totally dig checking out all the murals all over and the humorous bumper stickers. Love the personality of each location. One of my favorite chains that originated in Winter Park, FL!

I probably come to this location the most now. My friend and I often go when we're out shopping on the weekends. The front parking lot is small, but a quick hint is that there's a big lot behind the building. They have a back door that leads right to the ordering counter. Because it's busy, ordering usually takes a little bit. But they often have someone offering us drinks while we wait.

I love Tijuana Flats! I am new to the Orlando area and am so happy that I was introduced to Tijuana Flats. I come to this location because it is the closet to my house. I have never had anything on the menu that I did not like. The chicken quesadilla with beans is my favorite but I also enjoy the fish tacos and taco salad. I have heard the nachos are excellent. There are so many options to choose from, they even have a "power light" option; you can have whole wheat taco shells, low fat cheese and sour cream. Usually, I do not use hot sauce, but the hot sauce bar here is awesome; they have a sauce for everyone! The service is always excellent and very accommodating.

My wife loves this place. I like it too but I also LOVE the traditional Mexican restaurant. And I think that I used to like it a lot more but I'm not really sure why I changed. If you're looking to get a burrito and if you want control of what's going in it, I would far rather go to TF's than one of the larger and more homogenized burrito places. Let's all remember that these are UCF guys that have done well so if you're local you should try this place before all other mega-corp owned chains. Personally I prefer to sit down and get a margarita and beans and rice with my meal while there's either soccer or a spicy hap playing in the background but that's just because I love the traditional Mexican restaurant. TF's is really good at what they do and you really can't beat their deal on Taco Tuesday. Just be prepared to wait and just like a similar rant that I had about Jason's Deli, be prepared to have a tornado of dirty handed children swirl around you in a sea of spilled drinks and tortilla crumbs. If you in your 30's like I am, you'll love the fact that there seems to be a magnet for hot, young girls in these restaurants and your food will be bought out to you by what I like to call a "young sweetie." DO NOT MAKE EYE CONTACT. Your wife will see this and she (your wife) will immediately attempt to ruin your dinner. You'll love the hot sauce bar and you'll curse yourself in the morning for trying to impress said "sweetie" by pouring and entire tiny cup of "Endorphin Rush" into your salsa. Tears will stream down your face as you choke through the meal that you ruined due to "hot sauce ego" and you will have to excuse yourself to the bathroom to wash your tongue in the sink. Great tacos. Great wait staff. Draft beer that's cheap. Dos Tacos. It's a win. Now get your tounge out of the sink and remember...NEVER make eye contact with the "sweeties."

Probably my favorite place to get tacos. Gotta go on Tijuana Tuesday: 2 Tacos, chips and a drink for only $5.49! Tons of different hot sauces to choose from that rotate regularly so there's always something new to try. And, I especially love that it's so close to my work!

My son and I go here just about every Tuesday. The food is consistently good. We have been to a few different TF locations, this is our fave. The staff is always friendly, and the manager, Matt, is great!

Like with most chains, at the end of the day most Tijuana Flats are very similar--same hip, whacky colorful Tex Mex vibe, same delicious food, same great customer service. But the one thing that I do enjoy about this particular T Flats located right off of Colonial Drive is the fact that the actual dining area itself is slightly more expansive compared to other Tijuana Flats that I have frequented. This does seem to make things easier during lunch hour, which seems to be a prime time for more or less all of the restaurants in this area. Part of that may have to do with the fact that this stretch of Colonial is really just outside of downtown and the Mills 50 district. Either way, it is nice to have a larger dining area, even though it does of course mean that there is more or less no patio space at this location. Speaking of location, the tiny plaza that this Tijuana Flats is located in definitely has parking issues. Pay attention to the fact that there is additional parking in the rear of the building (because I didn't--lol). There is also a back entrance, so the rear parking isn't as much of an inconvenience. All in all, I enjoyed my experience at this Tijuana Flats and the food was delicious. Probably my only complaint would be the crappy parking situation, which is really out of the restaurant's control.

Went in for my first time yesterday so I was very excited about eating here. I like the way the place is set up. You order and buy your food first, then you sit down and wait for your name to be called and have the food served right at your table. It really dismisses the awkward "who's going to pay?" situation. The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. The cashier recommended the "Smack my sweet ass & call me sally" sauce, which was sweet with a little bit of heat (I think would go great with eggrolls). There was a special promotion of texting something to receive free chips and salsa, and the cashier allowed me to do it right then and there without pressuring me to hurry up. Our waitress was also very friendly, helpful, and attentive to our table (I went with 7 of my co-workers). I got the beef tostada with everything on it and OMG, I am hooked for life. They also gave a side of sour cream and salsa which I loved. I did order a side of rice and beans but I was too full after eating the tostada that I barely had any (my eyes were much bigger than my stomach). Would I come here again? You bet your sweet ass I will!

Have always been a fan on TF's. So happy to see the new low cal "GOLO" offerings on the menu. Lunch for 2 off the GOLO was under $10!

I had such a great experience today at Tijuana Flats. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to order so I asked the cashier what her favorite was. She recommended the blackened chicken tacos w/ bean. What a great choice. Overall EXCELLENT experience. Friendly and attentive staff, great food, and a fun upbeat environment. I highly recommend this particular location. It certainly reflects proper management and great staff.

Tijuana Flats is a great chain and both my best friend and I enjoyed our visit here. We came for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't bust at all which was nice. We shared a plate of their nachos and had two sangrias each. The nachos were fantastic and were had fun trying out the different sauces and salsas. The sangria was very good for the price and the perfect compliment to our spicy snack! I'd come here again for sure!

Love Taco Tuesday!! Went late afternoon for an early dinner. Great inviting friendly atmosphere. Our server was awesome and attentive; wish I remembered to get his name. Will be back again soon!!

Tijuana Flats is awesome. Some coworkers of mine took me here during lunch. At this location, it's best to park in the back. I like the way it's decorated here. The custom mural painted all around the dining room gives the restaurant a distinct personality and in-your-face attitude. There are celebrity photos in the back of the restaurant. Orders are taken at the counter and the food is brought to your table after being prepared. They have a salsa/hot sauce bar with a ton to choose from. Each salsa/hot sauce has a heat rating. I order a chimichanga and it was delicious. I was very happy with the food and the service. If there was one in Nashville, I'd be hitting it up often.

I've always been a fan of Tijuana Flats, but am even happier now that there is a location so close to home. This location is much larger than most of the other ones I have been to, leaving plenty of space to always find a seat. The staff at this location always seems to be super friendly and willing to go out of their way to make sure your meal is good. We went in recently and I ordered a steak salad but received chicken. It wasn't a huge deal, but when they realized a mistake had been made they immediately brought me a side of steak. We will definitely be back!

Ya know, what more can be said about Tijuana Flats that hasn't already been said for the 20 or so we already have in Orlando? How about, this place just opened and it's down the street from my house! Thank the food fates they finally brought one to fill the black hole of non-Tijuana Flats that was Colonial Town. I was really getting tired of driving to downtown, Winter Park or University to satisfy my cravings! For those of you that don't know TFs, it's a Tex Mex college student sort of place. Nothing too horribly fancy, but the food is fresh, and there is always a big row of hot sauces to tickle your taste buds, including the very famous "Smack My Ass" line of hot sauces. They even give you a helpful sticker on each sauce to let you know the level of pain you're going to be enduring. The little black sticker with the death face? Yeah, don't try it. Trust me. (Damn you Ghost Chile sauce!) Fairly reasonably priced, this place won't really break your wallet. They also have beer to sooth the fires and put away the Tex Mex tastee. A good place on a Saturday, and good for a fast lunch. They even have ways to make it a little healthier for you such as wheat tortillas, low fat cheese, low cal sour cream, and other ways. They just opened, so make sure you give them a little patience, but so far, they haven't made mistakes. It appears that they did something that many businesses don't do, which is bring in a trained staff at opening! Now excuse me while I eat these tacos...

The first time I came in I ordered a burrito, and I thought "nothing special." But my friends all raved about their queso and their tacos, so I gave it a second try. Now I'm a total "flathead" convert! Check it out on Taco Tuesdays, two tacos, chips and a drink for FIVE BUCKS! Also the staff are great, always friendly and always checking on you to see if you need a drink refilled. My favorite sauce is "Don't Be a Chicken..." Also the flautas are tasty if you like a deep fried treat!

4 Stars for a punch of color, personality, and flavor- that originated in Winter Park! This location of TFlats is pretty large. The parking out front looks inadequate, until you realize there's parking behind the building as well. I dig the brand and have to say I've gone through phases where I would get their 2 taco meal no less than once a week. This means I've got some tips! Tip 1- ask for to-go containers for the sauces. The sauce bar has teeny tiny containers and I used to fill 10 of them and still be lacking sauce at the end of my meal. They have larger containers behind the counter if you ask for them! Tip 2- Check your meal! I've had a few occasions where I've arrived home with something missing (nothing major, but still a bit annoying). Tip 3- Order the guac. You get a small tub full (more than most places) and it has nice chunks of avo that make it clear it's made in-house. Tip 4- Try the power-lite cheese option! It tastes the same as the regular cheese. I've tricked my partner into eating it without him noticing... Finally, though not really a tip it's still worth mentioning that this location has always impressed me in terms of service. Everyone seems to be happy and this last time I was greeted 3 times with smiles! Overall, this is a good location that retains the charm of the brand. (As a note- I love the funny bumper stickers but could do without the political stickers... They're especially odd since I would think their demo leans liberal...)

We really like Tijuana Flats for a simple meal with the family. The girls love Taco Tuesdays and I love the price. The food is about 3.5 stars, but the service brings this place down a little. I don't recommend sitting outside if you want a drink refill or need anything with your meal. I will say that we were also a bit spoiled by the friendly staff at the (now closed) Thornton Park location, where they were always around and happy to help.

I keep forgetting there's a Tijuana Flats here. But I may be the only one. It was 8:00pm on a Tuesday and this place was SLAMMED! I had a coupon for a free trio but didn't quite understand what a trio was, ordered another burrito. Soo.. they got what the needed from me. Menus were hard to find and after I placed my to-go order I uncomfortably stood around with sauces in my hand. No empty tables. Cramped. I'd avoid this place and go to College or Thornton Park next time. It's the same food but a more enjoyable atmosphere.

Included chips don't come with salsa. Food was okay. You have to actually walk away like a dick when the cashier wants to charge you an extra buck, when it should be included at no extra cost.

I've been going to Taco Tuesday for years! $5.49 for two tacos, chips & a drink, SUCH A DEAL! I believe I've eaten more tacos than I should have, they're finally growing old on me. I've been getting a burrito lately, & it's still good... The issue I have is with their hot sauce bar. I'd rather just have good old taco sauce, but they don't even carry taco sauce. If you want salsa, you have to pay extra for it. So, I've been bringing taco sauce packets from Taco Bell. At least it makes happy :-D

This is my local Tijuana Flats so we try to hit it up a few times a month. Its big inside and plenty of space for friends/family that visit. They also have some seating outside which is great on a nice day. There is parking up front and in the back but it can get a bit cramped depending on how busy it is. The food here and honestly at any Tijuana Flats I've been to is consistently good, which I really appreciate. I also recommend Tibby's New Orleans Kitchen by the same owners as Tijuana if you want to try a totally different style of food that is equally good. At Tijuana my hubby always picks up something different, my mom, sisters and I always, I mean ALWAYS get the flautas. My god, these things are so good, they're like little self-contained harbingers of happiness...THAT YOU CAN EAT. If you've never had a flauta, it's basically a lightly fried flour or wheat tortilla stuffed with cheese and whatever other filling you want. You get a ton and on the side you get that yummy queso, guacamole, sour cream, diced onions, diced tomatoes, and shredded lettuce. We also get black beans and rice on the side too-hey we're Hispanic, no faintly Spanish meal goes alone without a bean and rice companion...its just not done. There is also a hot sauce bar. I can't do spicy but there one sweet mild sauce is amazing!

Love this place! Taco Tuesday is where it's at. For $5.99 you get two huge tacos, chips and salsa, and a fountain drink. The place is lively and draws very eclectic crowd. Everything from cops to crossdressers show up here. The servers are extremely nice and go out of their way to talk to you. This won't be my last time coming here when I'm in Florida.

I really like Tijuana Flats - It's a-Ok to me. i think I really liked it when it first came out, and now it's just okay. It definitely satisfies any mexican cravings. I feel like every menu item tastes the same, it's filled with the same ingredients, they just assemble and present it in a different way. Their claim to fame is their hot sauce bar. But they only give you a teeny tiny plastic cup for that. How am I going to dip my chip or taco in that? It's tiny, y'all... I'm a dipper. That being said, the food is decent and I've not gotten sick. Favorites are: Mexican Pizza Quesadilla The queso and chips are good and so is the black beans and rice. I like this location and there is plenty of parking in the back.

We love this chain and all its locations. We made it a point to go two times in six days during our visit - so we obviously miss them! I always get the two tacos with beef and refried beans and a side of queso for the chips. The tacos are filled up to the perfect level and the toppings always taste fresh. The queso just perfect for the chips (note: if you are with someone and want to both get sides of queso - just do the queso appetizer since it's cheaper). Normally we also get some of the cookie dough flautas to finish off our meal, and they are amazing. Fingers crossed this chain starts opening locations towards the west coast soon! Overall: A+ Always friendly service, quirky environment, hot sauce bar, fresh food. Perfection!

I'm been a big fan of Tijuana Flats since I moved down to Florida. I like that they grill there burritos after they are wrapped to give them a little crunch and help hold everything together without the wrap getting soggy. Tuesday is taco Tuesday also(2 for 1 prices on tacos). They also have a huge assortment of different hot sauces to choose from.

Glad to see this location open up near my work. My bud was visiting from Atlanta and we both love good mexican and a beer in the middle of the afternoon - hell who doesn't? So, we hit this spot up since it was 1/4 of a mile away. Probably one of the least impressive Tijuana Flats I've seen from the outside, but the inside is really open and airy and inviting. Typical badass TF murals on the walls, place was super clean because it's so new. Customer service, as it is at EVERY Tijuana Flats, was spot on. I don't know what mojo they put into the training manuals but for a "chain" TF really has service down to a science. I've never been to one where I wasn't treated with a smile, a friendly attitude and prompt service. Same goes for this location. I had one of my faves, black-bean chimi, flour tortilla, everything minus jalapenos, power-lite. I've been to TF enough times I like to see if they can keep up with my order speed (I spit it out quick) they ALWAYS can. I got it wet, with queso. Yummy gooey goodness. Look, this isn't Mexican food, this is Tex-Mex, but when I compare them to say Chipotle, Baja, Moe's, or (ugh) Qdoba, they always win out for me. The ingredients seem fresher, the tastes more bold, and the hot bar is king. I love to splay out 8-10 cups of varied hot sauces in front of the wife and I and we just dig in and try all of them. Peach and vidalia onion sauce, chipotle, jalapeno, datil pepper, hot sauces of death that will make your ears steam, even asian inspired hot sauces. Shit, it's a hot sauce *fiesta* and I dig it. And our tab is usually about $12-14. Seriously? That's good value for the money. This isn't "amazing" food, this is pretty damn good fast food. Yeah... I'm partial to Tijuana Flats for my Tex-Mex fast food fix, and this location doesn't disappoint. Outside seating for us smokers, lots of light for a spot that seems like a cave from the road. I approve, and I'll be back.

If we lived in a world without gringos locos, chipotle, Moes, Baja fresh, and qdoba, then I guess I would've given them 3 stars, but since we do have those nice places, it gets 2. The food is so generic, it is almost as bad as Taco Bell, and at least they have those cinnamon twist things.

Dos tacos, Dos tacos...that is all i have to say. this place wins me over time and time again. the key to any meal here though is obviously the sauce bar. yes, thats right, the hot sauce bar is the signature item of tflats. ranging from sweet and mild to crazy kick my ass spicy, they have any flavor for anyone. i kind of prefer the regular mild and sweet ones myself, but there are some days when i find a hot one that just tastes so delicious. oh also, taco tuesday is a great deal for a dos tacos and a drink for like 4.99 i think. great deal and makes me want to come here every tuesday.

Another great Tijuana Flats location! TIP: There is parking and an entrance in the back of the building. The front parking lot fills up fast! Love the salsa, so fresh. I always get the flautas and I am never disappointed. Friendly service, that is also quick. I am a TJF addict! :)
