Oh my! Where do I begin? I haven't been to Tijuana Flats in so long. Four stars for the parking! Trying to parallel park on Edgewater Drive during lunch time is definitely a challenge. I came here with some coworkers for lunch. The location is great; just a few blocks from my office. It can get pretty crowded here during lunch time; especially on Taco Tuesday! We called in our order in advance so when we got there all we needed to do was sit down and enjoy it. And enjoy we did. I had the special of two tacos with chips and a drink $5.99. My tacos were so yummy, I had them with blackened chicken, all the toppings, no olives. They also have a salsa bar with a variety of salsas from very mild to HOT, HOT, HOT. The service is always good. The prices are very reasonable and I love the atmosphere. I must say I truly enjoyed my lunch today. I'm sorry for neglecting you Tijuana Flats. I promise I'll make it up to you. See you next time!

Love taco Tuesday! Can't beat the deal $6.00 for two tacos, chips and a drink. If you are in a hurry the only advise due too them always being busy during lunch place and order ahead. Also the queso is amazing. Waitress and waiters are always available around asking if everything is okay . If we need anything or if we need a refill which I love.

Fast and friendly location. You can place your order online which makes it even better since some days can be pretty busy. I like to place my order online but then eat there outside. They have a fabulous outside area. Any issues are quickly addressed and fixed. Always on top of drink refills. Parking at this location can be a little hectic but worth it for the yummy food. Always fun to go for Tacos on Tuesday and the huge burritos and Thursdays. Chips and queso are delicious.

This is my quick go-to for lunch when I am working at Downtown Credo. I just hop across the street and get it to go. I have never waited longer than 10 minutes even when they are slammed. The women's bathroom is really funny cause it has a huge saying painted on the wall" It only burns for a little bit. You need a sense of humor for it, which I have, but it does make me shiver a little just thinking about it. HA! I always go for the Tostadas - Eight lightly fried, individual corn tortillas with refried beans & melted cheese. Your choice of meat and I go for the Pork, mmmmmm & loaded with whatever you want. I usually keep it simple with tomato, onion and lettuce. It's also served with a side of salsa & sour cream. They are really salty which I love. It's really delicious. My second choice are the Flautas - Two lightly fried tortillas, tightly rolled & loaded with your choice of filling plus cheese & all the toppings. Also served with a side of queso, guacamole & sour cream. These are a little bit heavier than the Tostadas but just as tasty! They have a nice outside area situated right on the corner if you want to pull up a chair outside and enjoy the weather!

So glad Tijuana Flats is in College Park now! The food here is always a pleaser, and the prices are amazing (Taco Tuesday anyone?). Only complaint is the seating - especially on Taco Tuesdays, you have to stand around to wait for a spot to sit. Noticing a lot more families here too recently, kids have caught on that TJ Flats is good too ;-) I like TJ Flats because it's easy to order vegetarian entrees, low-fat dairy, whole wheat tortillas, etc. Will keep returning to this place as long as it's in business. The servers are great too, very prompt with filling your drinks (they aren't really servers, more just helpers since it's counter service but still great girls).

Stopped by on a Thursday for the Throwback Thursdaze. Since this was my first visit, I decided to try the Throwback Thursdaze burrito with chips and drink. It is ok for the price but other places have better burritos.

I've just been able to make my first visit to this new Tijuana Flats at the corner of Edgewater and Princeton, in downtown College Park. It was great just as I expected. An added advantage Tuesday is Taco Day $4.99 for two taco's and a drink. It was really nice on the patio.

As a fairly recent resident of Orlando, I have been getting my fix at Tijuana Flats regularly. I have visited several of their locations and for the most part they are pretty much the same. Good food, good service at a good price; a winning combination. This review is specifically for their College Park location. Here's the one thing that I really appreciate from any establishment - consistency. Tijuana Flats delivers in a huge way. No matter what day of the week, what item I order, what time of the day I visit; service is always outstanding and the food is good. There is no rocket science here, just plain good food, at a good price with pleasant service. Bonus star for having the option to make just about every item in the menu a vegetarian meal. For what it's worth, except for Taco Tuesdaze when the taco deals are amazing and too good to pass, I usually order the black bean quesadilla with no dairy and it is not just good, but totally guilt free.

Yummy food, excellent service and relaxed atmosphere. Everything is good try it all you won't be disappointed.

The tacos are oversized and predictable. If you enjoy what white people think Mexican food tastes like, this place is for you. If you are someone who enjoys flavor, don't come here. The reason why they have so much sauce is so you can soak the boring in something palatable.

I have heard a lot about Tijuana Flats since moving to Orlando, and of course I see them everywhere! Someone brought their delicious chips and salsa to my house when we hosted a barbecue. Perhaps because we waited a while to eat there and had heard only high regards for the place, our expectations were a little too high. I liked it, but I really wanted to love it. I had the chips and queso, which were quite delicious in that Tex-Mex, generic kind of way. The chips here are perfect. And salsa is fresh and delicious too. I had the chicken chimichanga, which was good, but not amazing. I love the sauces though! I had the curry and the georgia peach, which were both excellent. I think i made a mistake by not having a margarita, as they get good reviews all over Yelp. I'll try one next time. The service was efficient and friendly. I love the outdoor seating. i look forward to trying it again and lingering a bit outside over a margarita.

Love this location in College Park. Perfect location and the staff is always friendly and accommodating.

I really like this restaurant but they just can't seem to get to-go orders right. It really shouldn't be that complicated especially since there is an employee's initials on the ticket noting they've checked the order before it goes out. We'll just stick with dine in. We frequently order the kids quesadilla for our boys and my husband and I usually order tacos or burritos. The salsa is fantastic!

I am a huge skeptic when it comes to Americanized Mexican or generic Tex Mex. Without having visited this place that is what my impression of it was. When my hubby ranted about this place I came just to indulge him. Am I glad we did! First things first. The service is impeccable. Sure my sensibilities are askew since I lived in a city with the worst customer service ever. So when I come somewhere where the service is good I am confused "Me? Are you being nice to ME? Do you want to be my bff?? Please?" But here they still go above and beyond. As for the food, I was in love the second I realized that I could order anything with black beans instead of meat/chix/pork. YAY! Then the portions? Perfect. Once my hubby guided me to the hot sauce bar I knew I was always going to love this spot. On Tuesdays there is a taco special so the place is packed, yet service remains totally cool. The tacos are a great size, I kind of expected size to suffer but it didn't and mine was chock full of beans!! Yes, I did try the Ghost Pepper sauce. Yes, I loved it. Last but not least, I adore the funky and colorful decor. TF is my new go to spot.

Patio seating with piped music. This is what I want when I visit a restaurant. Tasty tacos with Taco Tuesday specials are something to enjoy. Love the sauce!! The most popular sauce I chose--the sweet chili? Seriously needed a spring roll with that one.

Living right up Edgewater from Tijuana Flats is both convenient and dangerous! Whether taking it to go, eating outside or hiding in my corner, the food has always tasted fresh and delicious. The girls at the front and the guys dropping off the food are always friendly and outgoing. This is in my queue of places to take out of town guests when I want to share some tasty burritos or nachos.

I like the atmosphere and the service at this location. I've actually enjoyed the service at any of their locations I've tried. I like the company culture and the idea of fresh to order no microwave food. My husband prefers this place to Chipotle when I offer that as a dinner option. I wouldn't rave about it being an authentic Mexican joint though. It's just good fresh enjoyable food with a Mexican twist to it.

I've been a fan of Tijuana Flats since they first opened years ago that by this point, all I have left to judge each restaurant by is their location, lol. The food is exactly what I've come to expect after all these years: delicious tex-mex with countless ways to customize it to you liking. Whether it's adding queso, salsa, or one of their several dozen hot sauces, you're sure to find a combo that you like. The College Park location is nice, with a decent sized patio area. Unfortunately, the patio are is right next to the street, so exhaust fumes and road noise can be an issue during the middle of the day. Aside from that, there isn't much to complain about. TF rocks!

Great place, the burrito was truly among the best I have ever had. If you want some Mexican which is pretty close to authentic this is the place. Outdoor seating is a big plus ! Well done !

I am slightly ashamed to admit that I actually kind of like the food at Tijuana Flats, and their hot sauces are a great treat. Has anyone tried the ghost ones? They'll clean your nasal passages right up! Here's the thing about this location though: 90.56145% of the time, this place smells like really bad B.O. Not just regular B.O. Really bad B.O. And I am not entirely sure why. Is it the people that eat there? I'd like to think not. Is it the people that work there? I certainly hope not. Is it whatever they use to clean the place? Possibly. I am no Sherlock so I really have no idea what is causing the smell, but I hope they fix it soon 'cos it is a good way to ruin people's appetites. Aside from that, the food and service is pretty typical and standard. Thank goodness!

If it is Tuesday, then this must be Tijuana Flats. Those in the know are aware that you can't beat their Taco Tuesdaze deal of two tacos, chips, and a drink for $4.99. Beware that a LOT of people ARE in the know, so this place gets packed for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. However, their staff does a great job of getting things done efficiently and quickly.

On a recent visit to Orlando, I stopped by T.F. with a pretty large group, about 7 or 8. I didn't know what to expect, except that it was Tex mex and I figured it'd be like chipotle or moe's or something generic. I'm glad to say it was definitely a little different. There's seating outside (a few tables) and some inside. We walked in and were able to order pretty quickly. I decided to get the flautas, because when the girl was giving us a rundown on the menu, I heard "wrapped in.. and fried.." and I'd made up my mind. All of our food came out very fast. The variety of hot sauces was exciting but overwhelming at the same time. I'm a big fan of hot sauce so I tried to grab as many as I could. I'd have to say I liked almost all of them but it's really hard to keep track of which one you got if you don't have the best memory. My steak flautas were piping hot and fried quite nicely, with some lettuce, tomatoes, guac, jalapenos, and sour cream on the side. I was quite full after this meal! They seem to have your basic domestic beverages but I didn't see a margarita on the menu, and forgot to ask. That would've been nice! Overall good food and prompt service (although they seemed to get all of our names wrong for some reason). They definitely exceeded my admittedly low expectations of tex mex. p.s. interesting to note that it's in an area called College Park. In Atlanta, our College Park is a bit different, so this was a bit of an interesting twist for me.

I like Tijuana Flats in general, but I wasn't too happy with the meal I got today. The lettuce tasted like it had been under the heat lamp. Also, it bothers me that cheese is never listed as one of the toppings, but unless you ask for it to be taken off, it always comes on your meal. Not everyone eats cheese! Today I ordered a taco without cheese and black beans and rice on the side. The taco came as ordered but they put cheese on the beans! ugh

This Tijuana Flats location is the one closest to my house (it's within walking distance!), so it's the one I usually go to. It's one of the best I've been to, as well. It's definitely up there, in my opinion, with the likes of the store in Lake Mary and the one on S.R. 434 & near Publix and Mulligan's. The service here is always outstanding and the food is, of course, great. I give this location bonus points for offering online ordering, which I recently did. It made the experience much better, especially considering that if I'd not ordered online I likely would've been waiting a while since the store was jam-packed during my most recent visit. By ordering online, I was able to just walk up the counter, give my name and order & pay. When I did that, I was in and out of there in a matter of minutes. Very convenient! I'd only tried T.F.'s online ordering when I picked food up at the location in Lake Mary, and had a few weird experiences there. Not that there was anything wrong with the food - I guess maybe when I ordered online for the Lake Mary store, that's when the company was first using online ordering, so there were a few snags. For whatever reason, on my most recent visit here I did not order anything to drink, so I missed out on that otherworldly crushed ice T.F. has. Sometimes I think it's almost worth it to head over to T.F. for just a soft drink or Hi-C because their ice is so good. I have been trying to go to T.F. a little less lately as I'm really into the food trucks around town and have yet to check out a few privately-owned Tex-Mex and Mexican restaurants, but this T.F. and all of the others will do just fine from time-to-time. I'm very happy that this location opened up & so close to where I live. It's clean and it's convenient, and I've always been very happy with the friendly service and the quality of the food. To me, this location is worth at least 4 stars.

This place is on top of their service! I've been impressed by them during each of my visits. I would come here more often to eat if they had WiFi.

Food was good and service friendly enough, but ordered salsa on the side which was brought out well after table of five received our food. I use it on my burrito, so wasn't able to start eating my meal until two in our group had already finished theirs. It's annoying to give a good tip based on past positive experience, only to wolf down a cold burrito while my friends wait for me.

Wonderful chicken and black bean tacos! Great selection of hot sauces. Average salsa, which is sad for a Mexican place :( good service and atmosphere!!

Yay I am a super fan. Fairly close to my work place, I enjoy coming to here after the lunch rush hour. Great service and nice outside sitting, it's the place where you can disconnect from work and enjoy the tasting yummy food! Taco Tuesday the best!

It's fine. It is what it is. it's gloppy, fast mexican food. But if you're going to have a salsa bar, why not have decent salsa? Just saying. College Park loves it and who doesn't like melty cheese over meat and carbs. But come on! You have a salsa bar--get some decent some salsa.

Ok so I am a taco fanatic of sorts, have tasted and made every imaginable taco in my life and this place is not so great. Tried the fish tacos, said it was "loaded" with fish on menu, I got one small piece in each of my tacos. Yea, NOT HAPPY! I don't like to be lied to. Service was below par. I get that we are in a college town here and most are getting minimum wage so they don't want to be there...but doesn't mean you have to be rude and give a stare like "hurry up and order already"! It's my first time here, so at least be nice so that I will be back. I can look past rude service if the food is really good, but won't be back to this joint. Better off going to Chipolte. Now you know it's bad when you can't do better than a chain!

  • Callie L.

My husband and I frequent T-Flats often! We have tried most of their menu and have no complaints! I love the Flautas myself, usually get the chicken and it comes with delicious queso and guacomole and chips! They have a huge selection of house made salsas. Also for dessert the churros are awesome!

Thank goodness Tijuana Flats finally found its way to College Park! Edgewater Drive is seriously lacking tasty Cal-Mex options (I'm looking at you, Paxia!), and its central location on Edgewater between Princeton and Smith is very accessible for both pedestrians and drivers alike. The food is, of course, exactly like any other TF you may frequent. This location was having some rice problems when they first opened- as in, it often wasn't cooked thoroughly- but that problem seems to be remedied. The main differentiator between this location and others is this one has loads of outdoor seating. If the weather's nice, grab yourself a bucket of beer, have a seat under the canopy of oaks and enjoy some fabulous people-in-their-cars watching (since you're practically sitting in the middle of Smith Street as you dine.) There's a private parking lot directly behind the TF/CVS building, but you can also usually find parking on Edgewater.

Tijuana Flats is as good as it gets. Wherever you go, they provide the same great customer service and really good tex-mex to go with it. The decor is awesome and they bring out your food really fast. The hot sauce bar is great and they always play good music. The concept started here by a local kid out of UCF, and is now a regional phenomenon. It's hard to go wrong on the menu. They have all kinds of good choices. Everything from tacos & quesadillas, to burritos & queso. If you haven't tried Tijuana Flats yet, please find one near you and go.

You can't go wrong with Tijuana Flats! This particular location opened not too long ago, and has been a welcomed addition to College Park! I always receive fast and friendly service here. On occasion, the line is out the door, which sucks when you're hungry, but obviously tells you the masses are going, right? I'm a fan of their burritos, but have enjoyed everything else I've ever tried there too! I'll be back!

A great fast-casual spot. I love the outdoor seating here, right at the intersection so there is never a dull moment. The staff is nice and helpful and has lots of energy. I would recommend going at off hours as this location is small and fills up very fast. great floutas!!

Good vegetarian options. Stay clear of the fish tacos. Had them 3 times and they are fishy and salty as hell!!! Nasty.

This location is super clean and has lots of outside seating. My friend can only eat gluten-free and they made a special enchilada for her with separate utensils and a different fryer. There was a couple of girls working there with stink face but the manager was super nice. Get the queso!!

What a refreshing experience!!! My visit to the T-Flats in College Park went down like every restaurant visit should! For starters as soon as I walked in was greeted by a staff member, authentically, I will add, not like the forced "Welcome to Moe's" greeting you get at... where else... Moe's. I also like that they have menus to look at while standing in line instead of reading off of a board behind the counter. Makes it much easier to know what you want. At the counter the cashier person was very helpful, made some suggestions on my order, and then clued me in on the hot sauce bar, which is one of the things T-Flats is famous for. She then told me to grab a seat that a server would bring my order, get me refills, and even clean up when I was done. This left me plenty of time to peruse the sauces! They were all really well described on the little cards next to each dispenser so I grabbed a couple of samples and waited for my salad. I ordered the "Fresh Salad" with carnitas and this tasty avocado ranch dressing in a ... get this.... whole wheat tortilla shell! nice right! This was seriously a great salad! The greens were super fresh, the carnitas was tasty and the first timer salad dressing was perfect. In between stuffing my face I had my root beer refilled twice!!! Another thing that earns 5 stars is the cleanliness. This was a busy afternoon and I did not see a table left dirty for more than two minutes before someone swooped in, cleared it and gave it a wipedown. There is lots of parking in the back, they have a nice shaded outdoor seating also, food was fresh and tasty, place was clean, and the staff was genuinely helpful and courteous!! Seriously can you ask for more... other than for it to be free??? Go there and spend your money!! Eat and be happy!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
