This place always has amazing beers on tap and always a variety. The scenery is very comfortable with soft/dim lighting and their signature "garage" door as their entrance which has its benefits in the cooler months of the year. It's a very "date" worthy spot. I also love the service and have met both owners who are often behind the bar serving next to their employees. That says a lot about the home grown feel of this business. Hands down my favorite bar to hang out and chill, alone or with a crew. Xo's for The Thirsty Topher!

Great craft beer and wine selection, check. Atmosphere, check. Great company, check. Amazing food truck, check. I'm new to Orlando and this place is great for a few good beers and a handmade pizza. It's off the beaten path so make sure you don't miss it. Only thing that would make it better is if it was downstairs in my building. All walks of life in this place so there's really no dress code, plus they allow dogs. Ask the food truck for a "fancy pants" pizza. Best one on the menu.

Loving The Thirsty Topher! I came here with a group of ladies who enjoy getting together once a month and drinking and trying craft beer. We have been to several different places, and I think The Thirsty Topher has been the most accommodating. They even basically let us rearrange their furniture to accommodate our large group. Ron our bartender/server was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took time to explain the different styles of beers offered and to answer any questions anyone had. I love the atmosphere inside. The table tops and built in benches are gorgeous. The lighting is dim and welcoming. There is a nice outside patio with heaters too. There is a fantastic selection of both beer and wine. Almost everyone should find something to drink. I also felt the prices were very reasonable. Make sure you pick something up to eat before you come in. They currently aren't serving food. I did hear they have a cheese plate though. When we were there they did Sushi & Seoul On the Roll food truck there. I think they are there every Thursday. The Thirsty Topher is a great addition to the Orland craft beer scene. I can't wait to visit again.

Here is how it is. I am telling you it is good... not just good, it is great, however I do not want it to get too crazy there. It is perfect the way it is so this is what we are going to do. It is a secret between YOU and ME. Don't tell anyone, let us keep it to ourselves. OK not really, because it is super cool. It is a beer and wine bar, no more, no less. They have great wines and craft beers, a great spot, albeit small. The decor is simple, classy and I must find out how to get one of those amazing wood tables. So beautiful. Prices are great, ambiance fun. A great place to hang out with a group of friends and chat. Now they don't have food so eat before you get there. 'Nuff said. See you there.

Romantic bar with fabulous selection of craft beer and wine. Huge bar seating area. The occasional food truck outside is always an added bonus. Soft lighting and warm woods. I love you, Thirsty Topher. Never change.

Such a cool place. Ron, one of the owners, took care of us. I went with the Orlando Lady Crafters for an evening of craft beer. I got a sampler platter - 5 drafts of your choosing only $8. Sold! No food but Seoul Sushi Truck was outside. The furniture was large wooden benches and tables made from tree trunks. It gave the place a nice feel. There is a little outside patio area. They were kind enough to have heat lamps too which made a chillier FL evening tolerable outside. Bathrooms were well taken care of. I hope people find out about this place. It's just off the main part of Ivanhoe but in a good spot. Check it out!

I am so glad that I was verbally introduced to the Thirsty Topher!! I decided to check it out one Sunday afternoon after getting the recommendation from a co-worker. The whole bar has a rustic feel to it, with beautiful natural wooden tables, plants hanging from the walls, and lights hanging from the ceiling. The bartenders were all very nice and pleasant to talk to. Many craft beers to choose from, a lot of them are on draft! Thumbs up! Can't wait to go here again!

Really enjoyed this place. Have driven past it all the time and finally opted in after a movie was sold out and I refused to go home. Enter, The Thirsty Topher. Always enjoyed BART for the bartender Joe just because he's the spitting image of what bartenders should be, well-versed on beer/wine/etc and conversational. He's here as well now, so fantastic. Its a 50/50 toss of the dice as to whether a bartender will be any or all of these when you go somewhere. So there's my plug for him, lol. The scenery in here is chill, the furniture in the place was made by the guys running it, so bravo, it really is gorgeous in there, and spacious. You really can be a wallflower, grab a seat at the bar, or go to a table inside or out front. The selection was perfect in a way that you can come here with non-beer drinkers and they can have cider or wine, or beer drinkers and just throw down. I had a friend from out of town that couldn't have gluten and they even have selections on the beer menu for that. There's music playing, and no TVs (which I really found to be a great twist, talk to the people you're with dammit!). Will definitely be back here, its nice to have places like this so close to my neighborhood.

Let me just say that I have visited a few microbreweries and beer bars of the like. I figured this place would also be hip and cool so I wanted to check it out. I made small talk when I walked in; I do every time I visit a new place. It's good to get the vibe. Everything was cool I ordered a beer, it was put down in front of me, and as I went to reach for another bartender that works there felt it as her right to walk over and ask for my ID. I said not a problem, pulled it out and showed her. I also let her know that I work in the service industry and the proper way to ID someone is to ask for it when they order there beer not after the pour. You could tell she didn't like being told that she was wrong. Well letting bygones be bygones I had a couple more with my buddy as the mood had appeared to lighten and a couple hours passed. When we ordered our third round after already being there for a couple hours; they said ok acted like they went to get the beer; and brought us back WATER! Thanks for the water we said and when we asked for the beer they said just drink that. It was at that point that I realized the bartender that intruded SAM only had bad intentions for our visit from the beginning. We asked for our check , we still left a 20% tip, and quietly left. I have never been so disrespected at a beer garden and will never return, thanks to SAM and her not so awesome service. We proceeded to Redlight Redlight right down the road; "A Real Beer Place", and even had a collaboration they did with Cigar City. Don't waste your time here @ The Thirsty Topher and go somewhere else.

Local beer and wine...large bar and friendly bartenders. Near the Ivanhoe Village area. A nice place if you like to lounge, drink, and hang out with others.

I've been to this place a couple of times. Great beer selection and very knowledgeable staff. Haven't eaten the food yet. Can get really crowded and loud but that's usually after 8pm on the weekends. I think this will be a regular stop for me.

Yes, this place rocks. First of all, the bartenders/owners are unpretentious beer lovers. They welcomed our group which encompassed the full range of beer snobbery: from "All I drink is Miller Lite" to "Which hops is this IPA brewed with?" - and the bartenders here helped everyone find their perfect beer for the night. Their selection is definitely crafty, and they often get those rare beers that you can't really get your hands on unless you know the right people. The outdoor area is dog-friendly, and the inside is cool with an awesome, unconventionally-shaped wooden bar. It's small enough to feel cozy, but big enough for large groups. They do not serve food, but they do have food trucks outside on certain days. Definitely check this place out! It's hard to find, but it's tucked back behind the parking lot, so just be persistent. You won't be disappointed.

My first time at The Thirsty Topher was at a Yelp event. I should have known right then that The Thirsty Topher was going to be a hit. A good sized selection of draft craft beer, a great selection of bottled beers and ciders, the friendliest bartenders who are very knowledgable and patient, casual atmosphere... A hidden gem in the antique district. P.S. Dog friendly

Cute bar that's kind of hidden unless you know your way around the area. Great selection of beer, nice staff, and chill crowd. Would definitely come back for a relaxing night out.

Brand spanking new bar off of Virginia in one of the best neighborhoods in Orlando. We arrived after a Critical Mass bike ride to see how the progress was going. We were stoked that they were open! As we were greeted by one of the owners, Jason, he told us they just opened on Tuesday. That being said, this review will be more of an encouragement for Yelpers to go check out their space. It is beautiful. The outdoor seating area is open and comfy, with great lighting. The bar inside is one of the best bar tops I have every seen. They had 3 beers on tap, but are adding more daily. They are only serving beer and wine, but the wine and beer list is top notch. A few domestics, but other than that, craft beer is the winner here. Go support Orlando's newest bar, you won't regret it.

Love this place. The antithesis of every crappy bar in downtown Orlando which is all of them. Great staff, great beer, great atmosphere. About twenty really good rotating taps.

I have been here a few times now, and all I can say is, service is nothing short than the best! As weird as this may sound, I was super happy to walk into the restroom and it was super clean!!!!! Not too many bars can say that. You can always expect to see a great aristo of beers & wine with always new features. Love to see the different crowd and be able to talk with people versus screaming to get a work heard. Can't wait to go back.

  • Jessica M.

Brand new watering hole focused on tasty beers with a large tap line (we were there on day 2 of opening and they only had 1 draft going but it looks like they've got the whole line in now). They took their time putting this place together over the past year and it has turned out beautifully. The bartop is absolutely gorgeous!! No TVs, just lots of candles and tikis and beautiful vibe. Nice addition to a great neighborhood.

Good old Ivanhoe Village. What used to be my hometown has grown into a super yelpy town, burgeoning with craft beer, good food, and more than just The Mouse. Speaking of which, The Thirsty Topher is something that should be emulated in every city. Small interior, places to sit, craft beer, cool people. The staff here are "dudes." Not preferential, pretentious, and opinionated "dudes," but the kind of guys who you feel like you've known for years. They don't dangle the carrot of "service and friendliness" in hopes for a high tip, but rather welcome you in with open arms. They want you to feel like you're in your own living room. Sat at the bar, which is a brilliantly cured counter made out of an entire tree trunk, and a coaster is flown directly in front of me. Guys looks at me and says "You like you're in the mood for a beer." Nice. Told him I'm happy with anything hoppy with a punch and he slid a few short pours my way. The selection was pretty impressive and included several draught selections as well as bottles and cans I was happy with. Went with a trusty Jai Alai IPA and was happy as a clam. I'd imagine this place won't stay a secret for long and that's a good thing. Long live The Thirsty Topher.

My husband and I love going here!! A very unique and cool place, we are so happy we stumbled upon it. Everyone who works here is really nice and down to earth, you can go as casual or dressed up as you want, the whole atmosphere is very laid back. And having the food trucks outside is such a good idea!! We have never been disappointed. Great wine & beer selection. We will definitely keep coming back! :)

Amazing decor and atmosphere. Beautiful irregular cut wooden tables and barrels as tables. Pillows on wooden benches to make you feel comfy. Local Florida beer on draft. Wine also available. Food trucks on certain nights. Need I say more?

  • Aaron H.

For a wide selection of tasty craft beers in a completely casual atmosphere, this is the place to be. I have tried so many new crafts here that I can't even begin to remember. One of my fondest discoveries was the Alltech Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. For the life of me, I never thought I'd ever drink a whiskey-infused beer. The bar's overall design and interior decor could almost pass for that of an island home in the Caribbean. It's easy on the eyes. The bartenders are always excited to answer any beer-related questions, and they do it with a smile. It's no wonder this hangout is always so packed. Can't wait to go back.

Great service. Bar tenders are knowledgeable and patient when sampling the beers. Cool little hideaway tucked among wear houses. Bonus that there are no TVs, but would have liked some type of game option to get people interacting more. Makes it a great place to go with a group of old friends to have some drinks and good convo.

Wow, I really hate giving this place any more 5 star reviews as I'm afraid it will become over run with more folks. I know, selfish, but when you find a gold mine, you really don't want the secret to get out. This was my first time there, meeting some friends who were locals. First, the lady behind the bar was super friendly and suggested several of their craft beers according to my preferences for beer, typically dark. She gladly let me try a couple before I selected my choice. The selection of craft beers is written in chalk up on a board as I suspect they are changed out regularly. The bar top is made from a cypress tree that probably predated the dinosaurs, it was awesome and unique along with the furnishing and tables in the place. The music wasn't blaring and conversation was easy for our group. If you want, you can sit outside as the place has an open air - hole in the wall vibe. Several patrons had brought their poodles and the dogs were having a good time. The dress as you suspect was super casual and laid back. I don't think they serve food there, but IF your lucky, the Daydream Pizza food truck will be outside. OMG, the best pizza ever and they will bring it to you after you order. All in all, we'll be back and mum's the word!

I've been remiss in writing this review, but from what I see, this review will just be a reiteration of the others. Pretty much go here almost every Saturday night with a close friend. To say that we both like this place is understatement - We LOVE it!! We've been coming here for at least several months now. This is how it all began.... We used to go to Redlight and enjoyed that place with their great selection, but it was never very personable. One Sunday we went to East End Market, which in another story all together. I'd recently seen a post on FB that mentioned someone checking in at Thirsty Topher. Well after East End, I decided to stop by and check it out! And basically that's the beginning of the end.... The place is a little tucked away in what one may consider a converted garage, but... It is just the friendliest and most welcoming place to enjoy some killer craft beers. The place is very comfortable and extends beyond the garage to an outside seating area. The owners Jason and Ron are just really nice down-to-earth people! And that's a major part of the charm of this place. I could go on telling you how great this place and about the wonderful craft beers that they offer, but then I'd only be gushing! You need to stop by here and find out for yourself. I highly doubt you will be disappointed. Oh yeah, pets are welcome also! Dang, I just may have to stop by there today!

I was here last week for the very first time, as soon as I walked in I could tell that this is my kind of place. Excellent variety of craft beer. The bar top is beautiful, service was okay, but again they were super busy. I had a great time and planning on going back tonight!

We were in Orlando for a few days so we wanted to check out some of the local spots, and glad we found The Thirsty Topher. What a unique location, and an amazing selection of craft beers that the friendly bartenders knew all about. They had a Pizza food truck the night we stopped by, and it was great. The decor and bar was very cool. If we are in the area again, we are definitely stopping by.

Love this place! A great bar with a local feeling and such knowledgable staff. They always have an amazing beer selection, it's a rotating draft (as with most craft brew bars) so come in regularly and enjoy the selection

I'm really not much of a beer drinker however upon the advice from friends hubby and I stopped by one night recently to check it out. So glad we did!! It's in this warehouse/industrial section near downtown. It was like a little oasis hidden within. Soft strands of lights a strung along beams and what feels like a large tent covering. Some greenery tucked in further softens the effect. Hard to explain. Yet it felt instantly comfortable and inviting. No loud music blasting over the speakers meant you could enjoy a nice conversation with friends. We sat at the bar. A big beautiful wood bar. Ask the bartender about the history of it. It's pretty cool! We were approached by a woman behind the bar who helped us narrow down to our selections. Hubby and I have vastly different tastes when it comes to beer. She found something for each of us and we were both very happy. So we sat and gabbed and drank our beer. We chatted with the bartenders. We had a couple more rounds. We chatted with the people sitting near us. Next thing we knew it was getting late and a work night for us. Reluctantly we paid our tab and headed home. Would love to come back when there is a food truck around. I think we would stay all night. It's hard sometimes to find a place that's not too trendy or not too young or not too alternative where you can sit and chat, have a couple drinks and feel comfortable. This place fits the bill for us!! I'm more of a wine drinker myself so next time I'll check out their wine list. Either way, we'll definitely be back!!

We checked out this venue after a magic show (yes a magic show!) at the venue. What a great little hideaway location with some really tasty bear! At first, we were going to head out as there was work the next day, ugh. But wants I saw banana nut bread beer on the menu, I just couldn't leave without it! Talk about good! I have never had beer taste that yummy and delicious. The staff was really nice, too! Very friendly atmosphere and a great view of the downtown area. Will be going back soon!

Great selection of beer with friendly knowledgeable bartenders. Loved the openness of the bar and the simple clean decor. This would be a great spot for a fun casual happy hour or an after-dinner drink.

My favorite bar in town to bring a book, take a date, or just enjoy a craft beer. Nestled in the industrial area of Ivanhood, this place really is a little neighbourhood gem. Great selection or rotating taps. They do a great job of having local breweries stocked. The interior is thoughtfully designed, with lots of natural elements (the bar is a massive tree trunk, plants hanging everywhere, etc etc) that are a nod to Florida's beauty. Love this place, and I hope it's a staple in the neighbourhood for years to come.

We have been to this place twice- once on a Wednesday shortly after opening and had a great time. The bartender was kind and knowledgeable about the vast draft beer selection. I love that there is no wifi, no tv's and the music is a wonderful background sound that doesn't over power your conversation. Then we went again last night around 10 and as you can imagine the crowd was way different - a bunch of hipsters and a bartender who seemed less than enthusiastic about a group of 40 somethings walking in. The beer was still great and the server was still helpful- just a but smug. I will go back but will make it a point to go earlier to enjoy the laid back feel of the place minus the hipsters!

what a great addition to the scene blossoming in ivanhoe/mills50. the bar is a serious piece of wood! in fact, all of the warm wood pieces here really lend themselves to the warm and welcoming feel of the place. they did a great job bringing the outdoors in with plants and their outside seating is a perfect little alcove. the people behind the bar are friendly and sweet without pretense. i am by no means a craft beer enthusiast, and they are more than keen to advise on selection without seeming snobby or pushy. this spot is for sure worth a go, even on a sunday afternoon.

Just moved here and in the chaos of settling in, this was a great find! -- a place to stop everything and spend a few hours trying some new craft beers, chatting away in an easy going environment, with just enough music, eclectic friendly crowd, super nice owners...and we got great fresh pizza. A down to earth cool place -- it opens up totally to a small outdoor sitting area which also feels great, especially now! Can see a bit of the Orlando skyline, and hear an occasional train going by which adds to the feel. I recommend it! Stop by -- I think you'll love it. We did and will go back for more!

This has been my go-to happy hour spot lately! (6 times this month - can you say obsessed?!) We noticed them renovating months ago and couldn't wait for them to open. They have a great indoor-outdoor space that has been perfect though all this beautiful weather - although I'm a little nervous for them once summer gets here. They also have a great beer list with several taps and usually a few great Florida choices. The bartenders are awesome and will help you pick something if you can't decide. The goldfish are a nice touch (I'm a sucker for snacking while drinking) and the pork sliders they serve on Friday nights are delicious. I love their decor - minimalist-lodgey with great rustic wood furniture, hanging wall plants, large bulb string lights overhead and a huuuuuge bartop made from a giant tree (and they decorated for Christmas - LOVE). We (as well as several other regulars) frequently bike, so it's about time they got a bike rack (hint hint). Love that this place is in my neighborhood!

Earlier this week I spent some time at The Thirsty Tropher to meet the new Yelp Community Manager, Andi P.! I was a bit nervous about going to a location that serves delicious beers because I'm not a beer girl at all! I figured at the very least I'd have a small wine selection. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised! On tap they had a Woodchuck bourbon cider and that was aaammmmaazziiinnggg! Who knew?! The service was great, attentive and quick! Once the bartender learned my drink of choice he had a few recommendations. I didn't even know hard cider had options (but then, maybe I live under a rock!). I will definitely come back with friends. This place is a true gem with a great look and location!

Since they don't offer food , I gave this off the beaten path craft beer/ wine bar a four star rating but there's nothing inferior about this new kid on the beer block, Lovely, quiet , space with an attractive patio for smokers , in a secluded rather hard to find area between Princeton and Virginia Streets.( note: need an illuminated sign!) The hospitable owners, Ron and Jason, were attentive and knowledgable while offering a large selection of craft taps , bottles and wines all reasonably priced .

The Thirsty Topher is a weeknight regular dream-come-true. It's completely laid back but the service is quick and friendly. I've been here several times for super late nightcaps, after-party drinks or just an after-work glass of beer and the bartenders make you feel welcome, like old friends. Conversation seems to flow easily here among bartenders and patrons alike. The furniture is gorgeous and seems to work well with the DIY feel of the rest of the place. Prices seem pretty average for a craft beer place. If Imperial seems too froo-froo, Redlight too crowded and Oblivion too alternative - then the Thirsty Topher is juuuuuuuust right.

My new favorite craft beer bar. I've only been a handful of times and each time is better than the one before. The staff are so great here. The beers are always delicious and rotating. This is what all craft beer bars need to be.

This is a great neighborhood bar with a fantastic choice of craft beers. The staff is really knowledgeable about their products and always deliver a beer with a smile. The crowd and ambiance is one of a kind! Also love the goldfish snacks they serve!

This bar is a hidden gem. Great selection of wine and beer. If you need recommendations, the bartenders are more than willing to offer you great suggestions. Sam the bartender was very knowledgable of the wine selection and is definitely the nicest bartender who has ever served me

I read good things on Yelp and went to check this place out yesterday. I thought it had a cool atmosphere and a nice selection of drafts on tap. Unfortunately, the experience turned sour for me after I paid the bill. We visited during happy hour and had three draft beers. According to the menu prices and with the $1 off draft happy hour prices the total should have been no more than $12. When the bill came I didn't look at it and I just put my credit card down. After paying, I noticed I was charged $18. I was charged more for the beers than what the menu read they cost and there was no discount for happy hour. I figured it was my fault for not looking at the bill prior to paying and that it was an honest mistake, so I let it go. Prior to leaving, I went to the restroom leaving my friend at the bar. At that time, she saw the bartenders looking at my paid bill and heard them congratulating each other on what they got away with charging me leading me to believe the mistakes on my bill were made intentionally. Won't be going back.

This is my favorite bar in Orlando. It's off the beaten path, with a nice chunk of wood for the bar, well designed and a great selection of craft beers. They always find the special rare beers too. You don't have to deal with crowds or parking to get here which is a big plus as you can easily stop in for a quick beer or two since they have their own parking out front.

Cool little place. Went with a group of friends on a Friday night, looking for a nice quiet place to enjoy some pints and relax. The Thirsty Topher is pretty much ideal for this. Located slightly off the beaten path in the Lake Ivanhoe area, in a quite industrial area, you wouldn't have any idea it was there if you weren't looking for it. Plenty of parking out front, so that was a nice perk that so many bars wish they had. Once inside, the ambiance is nice. Its a fairly small place, but not cramped by any means, plus there is a little patio area as well. Most, if not all, of the furniture seems to be constructed of high gloss wood and looks pretty cool. The large wooden bar is probably the highlight of the interior. Pretty cool piece. However, apart from the furniture, its fairly plain looking inside. This is my only real complaint about the place, to me the look of the inside was fairly uninspired. It is worth mentioning that others in my group didn't agree with that sentiment though. They do also have the seemingly requisite string lights hung as well, which the ladies seem to love. (Leaves computer, hangs strings lights in bedroom). Music is cool, and quite subdued, which is nice as in too many bars its hard to even hear someone sitting next to you. On to the important stuff (Hangs second set of string lights in bedroom)....The beer selection and service. Staff was knowledgeable and gave very reasonable recommendations to my very indecisive girlfriend, which is always nice. The staff was great, very attentive and helpful. Can't complain. Plus they give you free goldfish to snack on, hard to argue with that. Most of the employees seem to be owners, so that would obviously explain a lot, and i'm pretty sure I recognize many of them as Lodge transplants. (The Lodge is bar downtown on Orange ave. in case you were wondering, a ridiculously crowded and popular place at around 2 am) Beer selection is quite good, healthy amount of draft selections, probably around 15. Many more selections by bottle as well obviously. Draft selections are quite diverse, some popular craft selections as well as interesting lesser knowns. All reasonably priced. There is also some wine served as well, if that's more of your bag, baby. All in all, the Thirsty Topher is a nice little place to stop in and enjoy a low key night out. If you are looking for a place to have a couple of good beers and conversation, this would be as good a choice as any in the area.

The Topher has become one of my favorite bars in Orlando. It's in an odd enough spot that it's unique. The bar and tables- which are the focus of the bar- are fantastic. They've got a wide variety of beers. They have some of my favorite beers on tap. They've also got a large outdoor area that's above and beyond.

I often have meetings next door to the Thirsty Topher. A great place to get a beer or a glass of wine. The guys who owned it put a lot of love in the the decor which is a whole lot of gorgeous. When it's cooler outside, try sitting outside in the patio.

This is a sort of upscale Hideaway (which is within walking distance) with fancier beers, laid back vibe, awesome service, and cool decor. There is inside and outside seating and although dark, the decor is nice. The beer selection had a little something for everyone.

Cool little hole in the wall type bar. Indoor and outdoor seating. There's a large selection of wines and beers (craft on draft or bottles). Some of the beers are unique and won't find elsewhere. They even had a French toast beer. It was surprisingly delicious. You can ask to sample a beer on tap. I'd definitely return. Cool hangout place. It's def easy to miss though so drive slowly.

Located on Alden Road, near Lake Ivanhoe in the Mills 50 district, back by the antique warehouses. This tidy space was pouring a massive volume of craft beers on my stop in later on Friday night. Even with a packed house there was plenty of seating inside and out, helpful staff that will let you know when kegs are running low and what is coming up next on the taps. Pretty cool selection of bottled craft beers, if you don't see something on the taps. If Daydream Pizza is there, order a pizza!!

Awesome awesome awesome location. Stellar beer selection, most of which you won't find throughout Orlando. We truly enjoyed the vibe and the tent, candle lit atmosphere. The food truck option is always a favorite and daydream pizza was the one on our evening out. The beer selection is ever rotating and there's always something special there. The bar itself is beautiful and I hope they get to keep that element when they are forced to move to a new location.

So...a friend of ours told us about this place being the hidden little gem that it is and they could not have been more correct. The location is almost speakeasy like in the sense that it makes you feel like you are in on a wonderful secret that the privileged few may know and you don't need any stupid password to get in. The beer selection is like...well...you remember your first trip to Disney as a child? Yep, its like that. With a small but super awesome staff that you can chat away the night with, the unexpected beautiful décor and its unique location amongst industrial warehouses The Thirsty Topher is certainly a diamond in the rough. Plus you get a nice mixture of patrons from the neighborhood without all the hipster jerk offs. Go there today!!

I think I'll be echoing popular option by saying how awesome this little hole-in-the-wall is. The first thing you notice is the beautiful wooden bar and the little wooden tables against the walls. The draft list is ever-changing and it's like a beer nerd hand-picked the best offerings from all the styles (which is exactly what happened since Ron, one of the owners, picks all the beer). This is basically the Cheers of Orlando, the regulars are known by name, not many non-Orlandoans know about it, and with the stellar beer and great food trucks that are usually parked outside- you can't ask for a better bar!

Perhaps it's an odd word to describe a bar, but the adjective I would use over and over to describe The Thirsty Topher is "beautiful"...think Imperial vibes with plants and Christmas lights. It's a cool, low-key place with a great craft beer/wine selection, friendly/down to earth staff, perfect lighting and decór, and a pizza food truck on Wednesday nights. :) Last night I had Two Henry's blueberry wheat and Swamp Head's pumpkin spice latte which I'm not at all ashamed to admit because they were DERICIOUS.

The Thirsty Topher is awesome. I've been about 10 times and each visit has been a lot of fun. The place has great décor, an awesome staff and excellent beers. The people who work here are very cool. One of the bartenders, Alex, always remembers me from previous visits (even though my last few visits have had a lot of time in between them), knows a lot about beer and is great at making conversation. Great guy to talk to! The other employees I've met also have been very friendly. The beers here are very good - never had a bad one. The bar does a great job of keeping lots of different styles (IPAs, stouts, ales, sours) on draft, so there should be something here for every different style on any given night. There also is a decent selection of bottled beer, if I remember correctly. There may even be some aged/vintage stuff available. The design of the inside of the bar is really nice. It's hard to explain how it is, though. I'm going to T.T. tonight so I will take a few pictures of it then and post them here later. On many nights, there is a food truck just outside of the entrance. That's a nice bonus. Most of the time, it's Sushi & Seoul On The Roll or a pizza food truck. I've tried food from both and everything has been great. I recently heard a rumor that T.T. may have to move soon due to the development that may be constructed in the area. That would make me very sad, but hopefully that is not for a long time. If you're in the area, check this place out. It's very close to downtown and I-4. Also be sure to check them out on Facebook ( facebook.com/thethirstyt… ), where the current list of available beers on tap usually can be found. The bar gets plenty of Florida beers, including lots of great stuff from Cigar City. If you love C.C., stop by tonight - the bar is going to have a few different varieties of both Jai Alai and Maduro Brown. Looking forward to it!

Love this place! Cute and tucked in a small little warehouse, this little bar garden has a great ambiance. With a wide selection of beers and wines, you can sit and chat. This is my go-to spot when wanting a night out. Must go!

The Thirsty Topher was everything I hoped it'd be and more. As a craft beer lover, it had enough variety to keep me interested. Their Highland event was a lot of fun. All in all, I could see myself returning here many times with friends.

This is my kind of spot! If I lived in ORL, I'd come here...a lot. It's a little off the beaten path, not too big, not too crowded and they serve up some good beers. Including Funky Buddha (so I had to represent for the home team!) We sat outside and it was a beautiful Orlando night. There was a breeze, it wasn't humid......it wasn't South Florida weather for sure. We grabbed a table and chatted away while sippin' on beers & ciders. There were some interesting folks there and we made some small chit chat with a woman about how to get a dog to release it's grip when it bites down - I won't go into details....it's pretty sick. We also encountered someone who brought a baby in a stroller. Yea...to a bar....I know right? They sat outside and gazed into each others eyes as the baby snoozed away. And there were dogs. A few of them actually....the Topher is dog friendly, I dig that! All in all this was a great stop to grab a drink with some friends - and apperantly with your newborn and pup as well.

I had the opportunity to check this place out last night and boy am I glad I did. I'm not even a huge beer fan and I still loved it. It is tucked away in Ivanhoe Village between Princeton and Virginia. Just a heads up - this place isn't easy to find. It is in between two other businesses and it is easy to just drive by. But believe me when I tell you that it is worth the hunt. They have a pretty good beer selection and from what I've been told they actually have some pretty good craft beer choices. They had a nice sized list of bottled beers along with a draft beer selection that is constantly changing. I tried the Woodchuck Barrel Select and loved it! They do have a short list of wine available if that is your thing. And they have some fancy gourmet sodas that are pretty awesome as well. They don't have food but on some nights they do have a food truck parked out front. So you can totally order from them and bring it to your table. The atmosphere is pretty chill and you can actually have a conversation with the people you go with. No screaming over horrible music played by some DJ hiding in a booth. This was a big plus for me. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. They even had some heaters for those rare cool Florida nights.

There are many reasons I love this establishment. Starting first with the roll-up door that brings the outside in and keeps it airy. The decor is really pretty cool as well, very rustic. The lighting is awesome - not too bright but not too dark. The beverages are on point. That I must say. Hands down, some of the best beers I've tasted are at Thirsty Topher. However, that wouldn't be possible if it weren't for the best bartenders in town. These guys know their beer, enjoy the chemistry of it, and make great suggestions. Every single time I've walked in and they ask what I'm having, I say, "whatever is your favorite." I have yet to be disappointed.

What is a topher you ask? Hell if I know..so I googled it and came up with: urbandictionary.com/defi… What the? Anyway, this place is awesome!! Think of giant garage with a sweet ass bar and a nice view of downtown Orlando. The atmosphere is great with a nice mix of all ages. The decor can used an update, but still pretty cool. They have a really good craft beer selection and the bartenders are very helpful. This is a must check location while getting away from the busy downtown scene. Can't wait to go back!

LOVE! In the middle of Ivanhood and within the industrial area so it's nice and quiet. A little urban getaway. Topher via urbandictionary.com : The sweetest, sexiest, most perfect guy on this planet who will make you laugh harder than you knew you could. Time spent with Topher is never wasted and never forgotten; it is never enough. I mean, it's true. The men working here are just that, sexy and sweet! They accommodated a large group of about 18 of us ladies (Yes, The Orlando Lady Crafters facebook.com/OrlandoLady… ... craft beer ::and cider::) with smiles. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and helped make more room when other ladies arrived. They went into detail about each beer and you could really tell it was their passion. They also had two ciders so that was a very nice addition for myself who is not a beer drinker. They also have wine and sangria. Their beer flight is only $8 and give you 5 samples and they are huge! I wish they had enough to do a cider on tap to do a flight! They also had goldfish to snack on at the tables which I think is key - add that salty snack and you will drink more, don't mind if I do! It was a bit nippy out so we took a large portion of their inside. Next time, I want to hang outside, it's an awesome location. It basically a shed turned into a kick-a beer bar. The decor is amazing from the, what seem to be, hand made tree tables to the air plants on the wall. It's really a welcoming, comfy spot that you want to head to every night to hang out with friends. Also, they did amazing accommodating our huge group and handled separate checks with ease, that was mucho appreciated! Also, their prices are amazing for what they offer. Great deals. Sushi & Seoul On the Roll was in the parking lot on a Thursday and it was a perfect pairing for the evening. You must stop by this amazing local spot and see for yourself.

The Thirsty Topher is a great place for a quiet evening of drinks amongst friends. Its small, intimate, and tucked in the back of a few warehouses. While it can get crowded on some nights, service from the excellent amd friendly bartenders is always on point. They have a great craft beer selection, and are always rotating fresh brands from time to time. They also have wine for those not interested in beer. From time to time, they have a local food truck parked outside for those coming with an appetite. Topher is a great location for those who are bar hopping, sandwiched right in between Ivanhoe Row and Virginia. Might I recommend starting off at Imperial, then Redlight, and night capping at Thirsty Topher?

Stopped here with a friend Sunday eve for the first time. Located behind the antique district on Alden. Interior- not impressed. Its dark inside, art just and restroom was gross. I will say the seating outside and near outside was nice..really the only good place to sit in this bar. Now, I've liked many a bar and decor is one thing but really for me it's more about the service. Bartender had the personality of a brick wall and looked like he was in pain serving the clientele. No hello, no manners. The beer list is good, but I found it typical, nothing much that moved either me or my friend. We decided and after a few sips my girlfriend commented on the carbonation on the beer seemed light. Add up the rude bartender and the general scene, don't think I'll be going back. There's lots of choices Orlando for watering holes, I recommend against this one.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this awesome, intimate little bar!!! You can't just stop at 5 stars- this place is that awesome!! It's not at all as I expected, but I'm glad that I'm not the kind of person that bases everything on high expectations. If my friends say this place is the bomb- then it is. lol They have an impressive selection of beers & wine. I selected the red sangria (I'm off beer for the month of Jan). I found the sangria exceptionally refreshing. I so wanted another glass!!! I'm truly looking forward to returning to Thirsty Topher ASAP!!! The staff is amazing, and more importantly, they know what they're talking about when it comes to all things beer & cider. Kudos boys

I really love the atmosphere of this beer & wine bar in the cute Ivanhoe antique district! I have been here twice now. First time was for a yelp event and then yesterday I stopped by for a beer with my husband. Thursday nights the amazing Sushi & Seoul food truck is there serving up delicious sushi and other delicious items! I also overheard the bartender telling a couple of girls that arrived at the bar and sat nearby that bottles of wine were half off that night. The bar is dimly lit, very clean and really beautiful. Service is attentive and friendly! They have a few large chalk boards around the bar listing the daily beers on draft.

I'd been watching this place slooooowly get built out in the Ivanhood for the last year every time I went down Alden, and assumed from the effort going into the build-out that it was someone's labor of love. After visiting, I'm convinced of that. They've converted warehouse space into a warm and cozy beer and wine bar with rustic elements - check out the exposed beams and the bar top! - and a cute outdoor patio. The space would lend itself well to a cozy date or to hanging out with friends, and the music is at a conversational volume. Excellent beer list and fairly priced (and thanks for including the ABV!) - I enjoyed the Harpoon UFO white ale quite a bit. Friendly bartenders and they serve a little dish of Goldfish with your beer! Hooray for bar snacks. All in all, will definitely come back here.

There is so much to Love here. the ancient bar, the great wide ranging selection... the ambiance is great. an inside/outside feel is one of my favorite parts of living in Florida. I've been a couple times and prefer it when they have live music, otherwise it can seem a bit dead. the only reason they lost a star was the rude bartender. he was doing so well, and we were eager for suggestions. When he asked my husband what his favorite beer was- to help us find something new. his reaction was disgust, judgment and a general "ugh- well if you like that sort of thing...". He left us on our own after that and we had to ask another bartender to get out checks so we could leave. it was odd and off putting. thank god the beer is so yummy! And I am glad that neighborhood is supporting small locals like this.

Having been here a few times now, I realized that I have grown to love it more and more with each visit. They have a great craft beer selection on tap with knowledgeable bartenders/servers. So, feel free to ask questions if you're unfamiliar with what they're currently offering, or would like ideas on new ones to try. I love the decor inside and the whole atmosphere is very chill, unpretentious, and really allows you to just relax with your beer while having a good conversation with your fellow people. It is also surprisingly cool indoors even though the entire place is practically open to the outside (extremely hot and humid) elements. They occasionally have a food truck in their parking lot in case you need some grub to soak up the alcohol. PS: They offer Goldfish crackers. Maybe that's why I love 'em so much. Just kidding. Maybe.

This is a cool place. Tucked away in what seems like a more industrial area. Turning down what seems like an alley way of a street you find this lilttle slice of heaven. Their drink selections range from the beers on tap to some choice bottles and wines. It also looks to be a great place for locals in the area to unwind and grab a few. The people there all seem geninue ( Staff and patrons). If you're in the area check it out, hey you might even come across the best pizza food truck in Orlando while you're there.

A hidden gem! Ron and Jason are great owners/bartenders and know their stuff. Great selection of beer and a wealth of knowledge to share. They have food trucks come out 2-3 times a week which adds to the experience. Chill vibe, cold beers; a perfect retreat!

The decor is great relaxed and very inviting but the place is a little hidden so keep an eye out. The servers/bartenders were very friendly and knowledgeable and helped with selecting the perfect beer. Went with 4 other people and we all got a beer we liked, and multiple rounds after of other beers. They also have a nitrous oxide tank which I definitely recommend. Didn't get to taste the food but next time I will.

Very chill place tucked away in the Ivanhood. It's quiet and unassuming, disguised as a garage on the outside. Inside the bar is large and beautiful with a respectful selection of some very unique beers. They have a small but satisfying wine selection, but only one or two spirits, sold as shots. (Keep in mind they don't have a wunderbar system, so doing mixed drinks from cans would be a pain). The staff is always nice and helpful. One girl, I think Sam was her name was one of the most adorably Sassy things I have ever met. Her wit was as delicious as the beers I recommended. They occasionally offer light bites such as a charcuterie tray (seemingly inexpensive for a cheese plate at only $10, and the meats on it were great, but I would have rather paid another buck or two for slightly more unique cheeses) and a slider special, but I have found the food availability to be a little inconsistent. I'm not sure if there's a pattern I've missed out on. The only real minus for me personally at this place is that there is no wi-fi. It's nice when I'm with a group and no one can get good enough service to Facebook or text through the entire time, but it really cramps my Yelp style! Seriously though, it's the kind of nice chill vibe I'd love to go into with my laptop and just keep ordering beers while doing work I don't want to be at my desk for. Overall a nice, unpretentious gem for a neighborhood that is slowly becoming the "in" place for people who don't want to be in the Downtown Craziness, but are not quite ready to hang it up in one of the parks.

I waited patiently for this place to open but for some reason it took me until last week to make my first visit. This is one of my new favorites. It is in biking distance to home. The atmosphere/decor is fantastic. The bar staff is not only knowledgeable, they are also friendly and personable. So great to see a place with good customer service. Oh, did I mention they have a great beer selection? I would like to go back and try the wines and well. Great addition to the area.

I had heard nothing but good things about thirsty topher since their recent opening and finally made it out for a CMYE this week! Tucked away between the warehouses of the Ivanhoe district, this place is the epitome of a hidden gem. Since the front is a garage door, it feels like you are walking into a party at your neighbor's house and the staff is just as welcoming. Inside feels like you're hanging out in a super chic tent in the forest, as the roof is all billowed canvas with lots of Christmas lights and wooden beams. And the bar!! It's one continuous piece of gorgeous polished wood that wraps around. The only downside is some of the bar stools are already wibbly wobbly, so make sure and check for a good one before you sit! They have 10 rotating beers on tap, plus a page list of bottles, bombers and wine. Their craft beers cover a wide variety of tastes, and they had two of my favorites I hadn't seen for a while- pranqster and merry monk! Another plus was finding out one of my favorite bartenders from Bart works a few shifts here too. Just a side note- besides the bar there are a bunch of high tops, picnic tables and a patio area and they are totally dog friendly! Check their Facebook page for their regularly scheduled food trucks and specials.

Thirsty Topher is really unique, definitely not your average bar. Love the outdoor patio seating arrangement they have set up complete with candles on the table, actually quite a romantic spot for a quick drink. What impressed me too was the layout. t's actually quite roomy, and I didn't feel at all like I have in the past at other bars where you have a drink and quickly want to leave because you can't even turn around without running into someone. Speaking of their drinks, what a great selection of craft beers, ciders and soft drinks! They were incredibly tasty. One of my friends let me try her soft drink and it was incredible!! Like drinking an orange creamcicle! Bartenders were very friendly, if you're not sure about something on draft, ask for a sample and they'll happily oblige. Will definitely be back.

I've been to The Thirsty Topher a few times now and consider it the next big craft beer bar (Move over Redlight! Not really, I love you too...). It's location is the first bright spot. It's tucked away among warehouses in Ivanhoe (which I swear is positioned to be the next Milk District), situated between the Fringe offices and a ballet studio AND note that you probably will have to drive by a few times before you find it. As of now they have very limited signage but, having talked to one of the owners (Ron), this is intentional. They are trying to grow in an intentional way, versus growth for the sake of growth. Once you find this bar (which has a garage door as an opening) prepare to be shocked. You'll know right away that this bar is special. They have the most amazing bar top which is from one giant tree and holds the record for being the oldest bar top at over 2,500 years old! It's fantastic! the rest of the furniture is custom-made out of equally cool wood and the decor is very minimal/rustic. My favorite thing? No TVs. I can't stress this enough. Ron let me know that this is also intentional. This should be a place for real conversation, he explained. His bartenders are told to really talk to the patrons and help them find the perfect beer. This leads me to my next point: The drank. Mmmmmm, this place has the hook-up! The last time I was there they had the rare Cigar City Cafe Con Leche on tap. I was shocked that this hadn't been plastered all over FB, and Twitter, but once again, Rob told me that he wants everyone to get a chance to try the unique beer and if he put it out all over social media he'd sell out in a day or two. Are you starting to suspect that I bugged this guy with questions for a couple of hour? If so, you're right. And he was so gracious and cool about this beer newb pestering him about his new bar. Come here for the beer- return for the fantastic service. This place is going to be around for a long time. P.S. Try the Banana Bread Beer (it has an actual name, but I was a few beers in and only know it as that...)

A nice beer garden set back inside a quiet neighborhood. The beer selection is solid, with a dozen on draft, and several dozen more bottles from around the world. Given the small footprint of the venue, there are plenty of seats to be found. If the weather is nice, the outdoor seating is nice, although there isn't much of a view aside from the parking lot. The bartenders are friendly, and quick to offer any tips on what to drink next. There is no food menu, although they might have a single special available, or a food truck nearby. A nice addition to the rising Ivanhoe Village bar scene.

I just realized I still haven't written a review for this place, even though I've been here a bunch of times, especially recently. I would say the Topher is a place that you'll probably find either by word of mouth, or by doing a search for a good craft beer bar. It's not a place that necessarily stands out from the road, and that's what makes it great. I actually first went there on a first date, and as awkward as first dates can be, the Topher helped lessen the blow with its super chill atmosphere and great craft beer. I may not have seen the guy again, but my relationship with the Topher remained. If you're a craft beer drinker, then this is the right spot for you. They have a rotating number of beers on draft, and also some in bottle I believe, along with wine and mead, though personally I only stick to draft beer/cider. The staff is great, and more often than not you'll see one (or both) of the owners working behind the bar. Go ahead and ask them what "Topher" means, they'll give you the actual definition :) In all, this is a great neighborhood bar, with a very chill atmosphere, the kind of place where I feel comfortable going for a beer by myself without feeling judged or having anyone bug me.

I will 100% be back... Love the idea of the food truck outside. The selection of beer and wine was outstanding and the style of the whole place is perfect. If I could say anything to improve, get some air conditioning... But on the scale this was low... Great time

I was looking for a specific beer and The Thirsty Topher was the only one that I could find carrying it on draft. Exploring we went. It's tucked back on a warehouse type street right near Florida Hospital's South campus. Two of us were easily able to find seats at the bar and were immediately greeted by both bartenders. After reviewing their selection of beers on tap, we both placed our orders. I received my drink right away, but then "friends" of one of the bartenders came up to get a drink and another and another...then finally after they were served, she poured my husband's drink. I'm all for treating your regulars and friends well, but when you have a new customer (or any customer) that placed their order first and you proceed to serve someone else first...meh...that is bad customer service to me. If I'm the regular, I understand waiting my turn and wouldn't expect it any other way. The inside was a bit hot, but they had their big door (garage?) open to the outside, so that would be why. Also, that means all of the smokers outside were filling up the inside with their smoke. I am not a smoker and don't like smelling like it or getting sick because of it (allergies), so I prefer non-smoking areas. Outside was a food cart selling empanadas. We didn't have any but a couple at the bar next to us did and they smelled really good, it was hard to resist I'd give this bar another try, hoping for on point customer service and less smoke smell inside..

Again our bill was wrong. I did not know until the next day. I paid an extra $20 for beers I did not order. Buyer: beware, and pay very close attention to your tab or pay as you go. To the staff: please ask us who we are. Try and remember our faces at least for one night. Ask me if the beer is on my tab or my friend's. Please ask over and over again. I don't mind being asked. I really mind a lot to have to pay for beers I did not drink.
