Simply, my local hang. Cool people. Cool bartenders. Great vibe. Outdoors. Sunset over lake Ivanhoe. If you are sociable, there's always someone to talk with. Usually a food truck nearby.

Amazing location, cheap beer, and a great atmosphere make the Lure one of my favorite bars to bike to. It has it all: great view of Lake Ivanhoe, dogs allowed, and cheap drinks (a good mix from $2.50 PBR tall boys to $5 craft canned beer). They also have liquor. Patrons are a good mix of locals and the bartenders are super friendly. They have a couple of tvs showing surf videos or sports games, depending on what's on. I've been here during rain storms, perfect fall weather, and dead of summer and it's never been unbearable (they've recently put in spray fans). Plus, they'll let you bring food over from the Greek Corner--what more could you want?!

This place is just badass. No other word to describe it. Great bartenders. Dog friendly. It has character for a little dive bar. They serve liquor. (I don't know why I always thought it was beer & wine only.. But alas, plenty of hooch to be had!) AND it's a great place to admire the incredible Lake Ivanhoe sunsets. What's not to like? This is absolutely my favorite happy hour spot. It's all outside so the summer months may get a little tricky but FL has amazing weather 9 out of the 12 months so you'll know where to find me. My dogs love it too. The staff are always quick to serve up a bowl of water and some treats for the little furballs. Dog lovers are inherently good people, so that immediately won me over on my first visit. Also- the crowd always has been great. Everyone just hanging out enjoying their days/evenings. I like that.

This is a great spot for an happy hour beer and a little pool. It's a very laid back atmosphere with large open windows looking onto the street side. Friendly bartenders and no dress code or AC.

This is a pretty cool little dive bar to grab a drink or two. Strong cocktails, beers in cans only. I consider this somewhere that you would just pop into when you are walking either to or from somewhere else...but I couldn't see this being my destination, more like an afterthought. For what it is, it's cool - and somewhere that you can get a nice view of the sunset/lake at the right time. Beer selection is decent, but no rhyme or reason it seems so you'll have to figure out what a particular beer is like via the almighty Google. Service is decent...they might forget about you, but this is the kind of place where you just throw something at the bartender if they do.

I did not dig this place at all. Candidly really for no other reason than it just doesn't have much of a personality or vibe that would leave me longing to come back again. Stopped in recently on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I live nearby and had been wanting to check the place out for quite some time. Fairly ok beer selection but the staff wasn't overly friendly, and the crowd I feel the venue caters to just isn't one that appeals to me. All-in-all there are many, many other places in the area I'd rather frequent for a refreshing beverage or place to catch-up with some friends.

I really wanted to love this place. it has so much going for it! the location is great, the ambiance is divey and cool. And any bar with a popcorn machine automatically gets my thumbs-up. I'm not sure why they don't offer draft beer, but they have a very wide selection of craft cans. they also have more styles and flavors of liquor than a bar of it's size has any right to, but I guess I was just feeling overwhelmed by choice. Love the atmosphere, but the service was not great. We were ignored quite a bit and even when we spoke directly to our bartender he would look up and then walk away. hearing problem? Judging our selections? ancient blood feud I don't know about? Maybe a different guy on a different night would have made all the difference.

I met a friend the other day at the Lucky Luer and had a couple of cold beers and sat on the sidewalk and enjoyed the world going by on a beautiful breezy day in Orlando Florida. The atmosphere was adorable I love the way they've got it laid out and the feel of the place and my beer was course good ice cold beer with a friend or could be better than that this is a place that should be visited often when you're in Orlando auricular ear it should be your hangout we will definitely recommend this to all our friends.

The best time to visit The Lucky Lure is around sunset, when the golden rays bounce off of Lake Ivanhoe, giving this pub a lovely glow. The open space always makes for a pleasant drinking experience, and it's perfect if you're not a fan of smoke. Tony (owner) and his bartenders are very friendly (Jared and Brandon are cool cats) and their cocktails are mixed quite well. You can tell they love what they do, and they seem to enjoy hanging out there themselves even on their days off. The drink prices here generally fall between The Hideaway (less expensive) and The Hammered Lamb (more expensive). My only (very minor) caveat is that they don't offer food. That's not really a deal breaker since you can find food within walking distance on either side of the bar. It can, depending on the night, get a little too loud. But that's to be expected from a tight space. All in all, Lucky Lure's a great place to add to your Lake Ivanhoe bar hopping trail.

Koozie friendly type place with an eclectic crowd the times I have been there. Nice to have a view of the lake and yes they have Tv's.

This place is pretty cool. A nice relaxing time with friends spent here. 5 TVs, great bartenders, pool table, beer and liquor specials. Not sure on the parking situation as we used uber but overall a great fun time enjoying Florida weather (ie: the only AC involved are fans for this outdoor bar). Prepare to sweat a little and drink up!

So tasty! This is a great place to drink beers and look out on the lake. A good selection of craft beers and a full liquor bar. One of the best college park drink spots

This would have been a good experience if it weren't for a condescending prick of a bartender. Getting a beer was a real ordeal. I asked for a couple specific beers, not particularly uncommon ones. The bartender replied with one of those rapid nostril exhalation that mostly says, "I'm too good for this line of questioning." Asking then what was on tap, I learned that nothing was on tap. Interesting tactic for a bar. This also came in a sneering answer, as if every patron ought to be entirely familiar with this bar's offerings, this bar which is one of several in an indistinguishable row. Another patron, a woman who came up just after me, received similar attitude, which didn't really make a ton of sense: something about how the cocktail list is only for tourists. Dear assclown bartender; there are bars for people like you, the kind that uses aromatic bitters, where you expect to be abused for your money a la Tony Clifton. Lucky Lure has a fucking beach bar motif, so stop shitting where you eat and act like it. Eventually resorting to a standard beer and mixed drink, I finally got some goddamn alcohol. Intending to tip anyway but turning to my friend for cash, I heard a sarcastic "thank you," which of course led to no tip, which is what the guy earned in the first place. Things have a way of working themselves out.

Discovered this bar on Yelp. Walked here from the Hideaway bar. Glad I came here! The view from the bar is the street and Lake Ivanhoe. It had a beach theme to it, which is perfect because you see the water of the lake. My mind tricked me into thinking it was the actual beach. Very casual outside bar. It is covered so you can still go here when it's raining. There are high powered fans to keep you not dying from the heat. The have foozeball and pool tables as well. I was impressed they carried a wide variety of good beer. Crafts beers but they also had a full bar. The owner was behind the bar, and was welcoming and very chill. As soon as my friend approached the bar to order, he introduced himself with a handshake. We had a lot of conversations and he is pretty personable. He had good beer knowledge, and what beers to recommend. You get to use a koozie when you order a canned beer, which adds to the beach theme. Had a good time. Will be back!

The Lucky Lure has a pretty good canned selection and some pretty good specials. It is a mix of a dive bar and a hipster spot. Not too shabby but far from my favorite either.

Walked over from Thirsty Topher to check out this bar for a quick drink with a friend. It's an extremely casual bar for locals & hipsters-jeans & chucks lol. Thankfully, I'm the kind of person that can adapt to any social setting. They have a full liquor bar & mainly domestic beers- very few craft & rare beers. Beer snobs need not bother lol. BUT if you're looking to kick back and chilax at a neighborhood bar- then this is the place to go. I found this place very cool- I didn't find the bartenders to be over serving at all. The patrons seemed very friendly- I didn't experience any alienation whatsoever. Heh we were even given control over the remote. I'll definitely be returning to this place once it gets warmer outside.

A great to best bar in Lake Ivanhood area! Nice big TV screens for sports watching or the occasional surfing videos although they will gladly change the channel to your choice. Nice pour and mostly eclectic gathering of easy to talk to patrons. Great beer choices and outstanding Lk Ivanhoe view day or nite. This qaint little place is great for a first date or a Rugby team (UCF's women's team) and it will be in your rotation, guaranteed. Hope u enjoy!

Outside covered bar with a great can selection and a decent view of the sun setting over Lake Ivanhoe, the non-stop traffic going up and down Orange Ave, and the stopped traffic on I4, always making you happy your commute is over.

Only stopped by once, and was overdressed compared to the flip flop crowd. It seemed like everyone knew each other, and we were like fish out of water at a divey beach-less beach bar. The place is covered but outdoor-only and overlooks Lake Ivanhoe, so the location is great. I would return to grab a casual drink on a nice day with a group of friends. If you're the type who like neighborhood bars and your beer with a coozy, this is the place for you. Did I spell coozy wrong? Do I sound snooty?

After the Elite event at Oblivion Taproom yesterday, I stopped by here since I was nearby. The Lucky Lure appears to have opened recently, maybe even on July 3 (according to its Facebook page at facebook.com/pages/The-L… ). I didn't stay for very long, but I enjoyed the little bit of time that I was here. There are stools/seats along the bar's outer wall that allow for some good open-air views of Lake Ivanhoe. I liked that a lot. The bar wasn't crowded when I first arrived, but it seemed to be picking up a little bit just as I was preparing to leave. It seemed to be a fun place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon/evening. The bar doesn't offer anything extravagant in its beer selection, with the most appealing choices being Magic Hat # 9 and Red Hook. It also offers many of the basics (Bud Light, PBR, etc.). As far as I can tell, liquor is served here, though I'm unsure if it truly is a full bar. My can of Magic Hat # 9 cost $4, which is a decent deal for one of the better beers the bar is offering. There are many places around town that I really like and probably always will prefer to The Lucky Lure, but some future visits definitely are in order. It seems like a low-key place to relax and enjoy some decent beers. I'm not sure when I'll be back, but hope to try it at least once more in the next month or two. The bar probably deserves somewhere around a 3.5 rating, but I'm rounding up for now. If my perception of it changes during/after future visits, I'll update the rating accordingly.

They had a lot of beers but when I asked the bartender a question, her response was "I don't know, they're all up there" and pointed to the cans on the top shelf that you can't even read. If you don't even know what you serve, you shouldn't be behind the bar. The other bartender was nicer but still didn't know much. Oh well, won't be coming back here.

The Lucky Lure is a great patio style bar, with a pretty good beer selection (no draft beer though), and full liquor selection. Beer orders come with a koozie too, which is a pretty unique idea, or many people bring their own. I'm not sure if they have food, as I've only been here for drinks. The bartenders are cool though, and actually let my friends and I park our bikes on the patio so we didn't need to worry about locking them up outside. Nestled right in the heart of the Lake Ivanhoe district, its worth checking out for sure.

Now this is a great way to use an odd space! Stop two in our biker tour of Orlando, this place served up cold beer (cans) and ice cold water; desperately needed in the Florida heat. Misters helped alleviate the oppressive heat, and there was plenty of eye candy to stare at. Add a couple of TVs and a pool table, a nice view of the lake, some random decorations...and throw in a pretty, smiling bartender and you've got a great afternoon chill spot. Parking was a pain, but only because there was some small event happening. Otherwise there's generally space up and down the block.

If you're in search of a cold beer, good people watching .. This is the place! I love that the bar is entirely open (meaning it's like a porch?) .. But even on a sweltering day .. The misters and fans keep you Casablanca cool! There is a wide selection of beers, cocktails and frozen drinks as well. Feel free to saddle up to the bar .. Or the counter that faces the sidewalk .. There is an awesome view of the lake ... Plenty of restaurants around if you need a nibble! There are a couple of tvs that play surf/skate videos .. Pool tables etc. The crowd is eclectic .. But not so "hipper than hip" that anyone would be made to feel an outsider. It's just like hanging out at your friend's house .. A friend that has incredible taste in music (my opinion .. It's a diverse selection of Indy, punk, new wave and some classics), and a friend that makes an excellent hostess. The bartenders are quick, honest, polite and friendly! You'll want to leave that 20-25% gratuity .. Trust me. The bathroom .. I don't know how they manage to keep it so stocked and tidy .. But they do! For me, that's always a perk! I don't want to call this a dive bar .. I like dive bars .. But to some that has a negative connotation .. Let's just say .. Go with a group, a date .. Or go solo! You'll meet great people, have an epic time and bonus .. You're supporting a local business! Park on the street, not hard to do and walking past the other shops and restaurants is a pleasant experience .. One last thing .. No need to break your piggy bank .. This place is reasonably priced .. One of my favorites!

This is a tiny outdoor bar right on Ivanhoe across from Gargi's Lakeside and the Greek place. Friendly staff, comfy stools for people watching, and a great can beer selection (bring your coozy, or if you forgot, borrow one from them!) make this a great spot to stop in to for happy hour, late night, etc.

Stopped in here earlier this afternoon after going for a walk along Lake Ivanhoe. I had driven by this place a few times before, so being in the area, I decided to stop in. The Lucky Lure reminds me of some of the roadside bars that dotted U.S. 1 in Marathon Key and some of the smaller Keys. It's a shack of a place, a patio bar decorated with nautical objects and signs. There is seating at the bar, and there is seating along the windows that overlook Lake Ivanhoe. Which would be nice to watch the sun set over the lake. At the bar, there is full liquor and canned beer. No draft beer. No kitchen. So there is no food available. Basically a place to have drinks after shopping for antiques or taking a walk along the lake. There is a pool table, and three televisions are behind the bar. Which is good for sports on the evening and weekends. The afternoon had a full crowd. Dress is very casual. Shorts, shirts, and tank tops. And it is dog friendly, too. At the time I was there, there were two people with their dogs. I had two Dale's Pale Ale, which came up to $8.00. There is a good selection of craft beer, as well as the old school beers. If I lived nearby, I would probably stop in more often. But it would be better with a cold draft beer on the patio on a Saturday afternoon.

After an awesome sunset kayak paddle on Lake Ivanhoe my friends and I noticed the new semi-outdoor bar on the corner of Ivanhoe and Orange Ave. It was a fantastic lucky find. The beer was ice cold and reasonably priced. The crowd was laid back, casually dressed, and flirtatious. Most of the folks looked outdoorsy like they just finished a great bike ride, paddle boarded on the lake, or spent the day wake boarding. It was a nice break from the up-tight trendy yuppie bars all to common downtown. There was only one TV and it was playing big wave surfing videos, so much better than sports that invol So I highly recommend playing hard outdoors all day and winding up at this great new addition to Ivanhoe Row.

Great place to meet friends after work for an ice cold beer. This time of year is perfect for the outside venue. If I lived downtown, I would be here all the time.

This place reminded me of Key West. Or maybe just any beach-side community. With fruity all-day drink specials, cheap bottled beers, an open atmosphere, and a body of water just across the street... the only thing missing is the sand. This is a perfect day-drinking spot. It certainly poses a different feel than most bars in Orlando and for that, I loved it. Place this bar in Cocoa Beach, however, and I'd just think it was average. Regardless, I'll be back!

Normally love this place but tonight had encounter with rude bartender we normally enjoy the place but walked in it was their one year anniversary and noticed now that they served liquor, had heard they had some specialty drinks but when I asked the bartender he had a specialty drink menu he sarcastedly said " we have a full bar and walked away" they did have a grill set up and we tasted this awesome bacon pastrami wrap but once we walked away from bar I heard the same bartender tell the people behind us " hey it's free kona long board beers tonight and then as we walked out I noticed they had a 3 dollar special rum drink... Very dissapointed tonight it used to feel like a friendly welcoming come as you are place but this trip was not impressive and the bartender ( short guy with no smile) was rude enough to make me never want to go back too bad lucky lute you have lost our business! Get a drink menu and educate your bar staff on what your specialtys are because I know you have them! This Orlando local will move on to more friendlier creative pastures!!

Fist fights and over serving are apparently the norm. This place is a total hole. Stay away. Guy celebrated his birthday. I watched as the bartenders served this guy and his girl till he was unconscious and she couldn't sit in a chair, then they had bar patrons drag him to a cab and literally threw him in the backseat like a sack of potatoes. I watched as someone threw cash at the driver and he took off to who knows where with this unconscious couple across his backseat. I was there one night and two friends were screaming at each other and fist fighting underneath the tables and knocking things over. I won't be back and neither should you.

great use of an unused building... a unique spot between Matador. Hammered Lamb, Imperial and more - they have built a scene of their own. Very good addition to Orlando.
