A cool and quirky bar in the Orange Avenue scene. The log walls and stuff on the walls are really cozy. The Christmas lights on the ceiling are a cool touch. Service was great and the drinks were good and priced well. The music was enjoyable also. We like it

Very cool! Since I went in July, they had the place decked out for Christmas in July. Christmas lights were everywhere, on the railing over the bars, hanging from the antlers on the walls. It was just a really cool environment. There is a bar upstairs and one downstairs, but no matter which one you go to, you'll have a friendly bartender and a well made drink in hand. This is just an all around good bar to hang out with friends. Good music, fun decor, cool bartenders.

The Lodge always seems to save the night! This is always the last stop of our bar hopping around downtown, but it really needs to be the first. Good music, decent beverage selection, and a fun crowd. You can't really ask for much more. Depending on our mood, our group will either hang upstairs and people watch, or if the music is right, dance it up downstairs. The Lodge can get loud, but still caters to whatever kind of mood you are in.

I'm not much of a bar person, but I feel comfortable enough to come here alone even, which is a shocker. Its well...like a lodge..small and comfortable. Cool patrons, tables out front to people watch or get fresh air, couches and booths to hang with friends and the BEST bar staff fast knowledgeable and friendly. I like that they have a few tv's for entertainment but you don't feel like your in a sports bar. A good selection of beer and spirits, I personally like the fact they have more can and bottle beer over draft. It can get packed and loud, but it adds to the energy.

I've never been here when it's crowded, so perhaps I've been lucky (I haven't tried to come here during "peak" hours). As a mostly-empty bar, it's pretty nice. The decoration is pretty cool, the bartender was friendly, and the drinks were pretty strong. I doubt I'd be into it if it were packed, but when there's 8 people in the whole place, it's worth checking out. Oh, the bathrooms are bad. Like, horror movie bathrooms bad.

I like The Lodge because it reminds me of little bars I used to hangout in while living in a small town in Michigan. The atmosphere is great here. There are Christmas tree lights up around the bar, a fake fire place, animal heads on the walls, and an upstairs lounge area. They have a decent drink menu and the prices are reasonable. The crowd here is more relaxed than other places downtown. It isn't huge inside and it does tend to get busy on the weekends. So keep that in mind if you plan on stopping in on a Saturday night.

Love the Lodge. It has been my stomping ground for years. The crowd tends to be younger and semi-beligerent but it is def a good time. Come in and grab a PBR for $2 and enjoy the 80's soundtrack. Make sure you go see Lucky up in the Crow's Nest and leave him a nice tip...that's my brother ;)

Music alone is worth five stars, regardless of any other problems people have. Well worth the time, plus the drinks are cold and not over priced. For sure will recommend to most

Love coming here. The music is always great and the drinks are always fair priced. I come here as often as I can. Cozy atmosphere.

Nice enough place to hang out and have a few beers or cocktails when downtown. I do like the ski lodge atmosphere and would be even more likely to drop in around the holidays just for the decor.

Amazing and friendly staff. We love to visit marybeth she is such a sweetheart. This is definitely a favorite weekly stop of ours. Fairly calm enviroment similair to a pub, not some crazy nightclub. I will continue to stop by! :D

Yes, a winter ski lodge setting in Orlando. I adore the festive light decor all year round. I usually stop in here for a drink or two, bust a move, do the photobooth and I am out. Love the vibe but never really make an entire evening out of it. Score that they have cider! I also once grabbed a six pack of cider here and headed to gringos, double score. The staff has always been nice. I wish the upstairs was a bit bigger but it makes for a relaxed, intimate (sometimes crazy) setting!

Went here on a whim while checking out Orlando night life. The staff, patrons and music were all fun and made my evening pleasant but was also very impressed with the manager, I think his name was Mike, as he was all over the place making sure things were running smoothly and everyone was having fun. Great night with lots of good fun and people.

Awesome, fun little place. Stopped in on a Saturday night after bar-hopping with my friends. I usually hate clubs, but we all had a great time here. DJ was awesome, playing a lot of great tracks, the crowd was having a GREAT time- no drama, just everyone having fun. Bartenders were cool, poured good drinks, and drinks were decently priced. Decor was different, never seen a lodge type atmosphere in a club before. They even made it snow towards the end of the night. Definitely a fun, chill place to be. Can be difficult to find a place to sit down, so just find an open spot near the wall to hang out, or get out on the dance floor! Place isn't overly big, so be prepared to be a bit cramped. Also, line for the bathrooms can take a while, as can your wait at the bar for a drink. Worth it, though, definitely one of the more fun clubs I've ever been to. Great times, great folks.

I've only been to The Lodge once and it was pretty neat. I love the interior! It looks like a dive bar from the outside, but turns into a rustic lodge on the inside. There is an upstairs area with a separate bar that is a little too small, but the downstairs area has a nice sized dance floor and leather couches to enjoy. I wasn't a huge fan of the crowd... lots of college guys doubling up on their Polo shirts and wearing sunglasses on the back of their heads, and lots of girls in too-short skirts and too-high heels. I feel like the environment would attract a more laid back crowd, but it doesn't seem to (at least on the night that I went). Drinks were a bit expensive for my taste, but they seem to have a great selection. Overall, it is a unique atmosphere compared to some other bars Downtown.

Kind of a cool place. There is an upstairs and a downstairs. The upstairs is small but quaint. The downstairs was packed when I went. I just grabbed one drink. But enjoyed myself. Would go back to spend more time in the future.

This is a really cool bar located right in the heart of downtown Orlando. I went here on Halloween after losing any hope of getting into Wall Street at a decent time... My friends and I were a little dejected, so we continued walking down Orange Ave and ran into this place. I'd never visited before, so we figured what the heck? The first thing that appealed to me was the decor. I felt like I was in some pimped-out cabin. It even had moose and deer heads on the walls. The walls are all wooden and the bar is tucked in the corner. I can't help but describe it as feeling... cozy. Yes, not a typical way to describe a bar, but it was definitely cozy. The music was awesome. I'm not into the whole popular club music right now... I mean how many times can you hear the same stuff without being completely sick of it? There was no DJ, but they were playing Classic Rock and 80s music and the crowd was loving it. There's nothing better than belting out Boston's, "More than a Feeling" while holding an ice cold can of PBR in your hand. That brings me to my next point... Good drink specials! Cans of PBR were only $2 this particular night. Not the classiest beer, but somehow fitting with the surroundings. This place was mostly filled with people in their mid-to-late 20s... definitely a little bit of an older crowd than you'd find at other downtown bars and clubs. If you're tired of the same ol', same ol' than definitely check out the Lodge.

Great place to come if you want a relaxed but still upbeat atmosphere. I don't think I have ever paid cover here. Bartenders are attentive and drink prices are decent. Usually play good dance music, a lot of 80's which I love. Generally a good crowd with happy people just having fun. I don't normally stay the whole night- usually either start or finish here. Try the cinnamon toast crunch shot- it's amazing!

    (4)
  • Elizabeth S.

Eh. This place can only be described as awkward. I'm never really sure what to do with myself when I'm here. Do I sit...where? Do I dance...um no. Do I stand at the bar, crunched together with 1 million other people...gross, no. So it's a good place to stop and get a drink (even with the 1 million people at the bar, they seem to have pretty quick service here), but other than that, it's just kind of weird to see a huge room with a bunch of people just standing around like it's an awkward high school dance that no one wants to dance at. Grab a few drinks and out yourself from this place before you get stuck in the monotony.

  • Roy H.

Very fun place to go with friends!! The DJ played a wide range of top40 and older tunes. This is listed as a dive, and I can understand that to an extent, but its really a bit nicer than a dive IMO. It can get very crowded since its a bit on the smaller side. So get ready to wait for drinks and be bumped into sometimes. It reminds me of some of my favorite college bars, thats a great thing!

  • Travis B.

Always enjoy stopping by here when I can in downtown Orlando. It reminds me of the equivalent of partying in a basement or hunting lodge in Wisconsin or Idaho. I mean that in a good way though. Great beer selection and good prices for the area. I always have a fun time here. Definitely my preferred hangout spot before concerts in downtown.

  • Melly M.

This place is all right. Crowded on Saturdays, random guys would pop into our pictures and telling me they're extremely fun.

  • Justina N.

This is always stop when we drink downtown. Good Mix of music that will please anyone your with. The decor is a log cabin at Christmas time. PBRs by the case you can't go wrong with this place.

Entertaining place for a good crowd! The Lodge is a great place to go whether it is a small group or a huge crowd. Of course the huge crowd is the better choice :) The Lodge on a Saturday night is a great place, where in the beginning of the night they play 80s mix, and then later on it is more Top 40 mixed in with 80s. I would suggest being in a good state of mind if you go later in the night, because it can get crowded. It can get annoying at times, so pick your battles! Go upstairs to get away from the crowd downstairs! Drinks are good prices, and there is a pretty schweet photo booth to take some crazy pics. Bar staff is pretty awesome too :)

  • Marcie G.

This place was middle of the road for me. I really liked the throw back music and the bartender knew what he was doing. The Christmas decor threw me off a little, but when it started snowing I started cracking up. It's a great first date kind of place because you don't have that awkward pressure to dance up on them or talk about awkward things in a restaurant. The music is a great conversation starter. Only thing is: the bathroom situation is a little ridiculous. I mean I was about to pee myself at one point. And, the place isn't that big; meaning it got extremely crowded. Other than that, it was cool. I'll probably go back.

I'd almost classify this place as a dive bar, but it's on Orange avenue, so that doesn't quite make it a dive bar. Inside, it's just about like every other place on Orange ave, loud, pounding hip hop dj mixed music, and crammed full of people. The best part is going upstairs where you can actually make it to the bar and get a drink. I have to admit, I like the interior look, it's about as close as I can get to Colorado style kitsch bars in Florida. The staff is really cool here, and make some good drinks, which also are very reasonably priced. Honestly, this place is 3 star quality, but every time I go here, there seems to be jackassery of several types. Fights seem to live here on the weekends, and there seems to be more broken glass and spilled alcohol on the floor than there is floor. However any other night of the week, it's a good place to come to, and I would recommend it other nights. Truthfully, I would rather hit somewhere on Pine street or off Orange if I'm in the mood for a divey sort of bar without all the Orange ave jackasses. A fight breaking out every 5 minutes because someone is an amateur drinker really doesn't make my night good. However, I give props to the staff again here, because they were on top of things when those fights did happen.

It all depends on how you look at it but these bars just aren't part of my scene anymore so take my review for what its worth. No cover charge is definitely a plus but the hoards of people pushing by you to get anywhere in the bar is a little much. A bro bar through and through, the ratio of males to females was definitely disproportionately tipped towards dude-ville. I guess if your wasted, it could be a fun spot but the fact that there were multiple guys without shirts on in a bar about 60 miles from the beach sent up some red flags.

  • Jessica V.

Definitely a place to go if you're in the mood to feel like you're back in college! Really fun atmosphere, but not a place to have a drink and chat it up. Can get pretty crowded so if you've got a friend that can hardly stand up, take her somewhere else! All-in-all very chill place, wonderful to go have a few drinks, meet people, and have a good night. NOTE: There is a high percentage of 'dudebros' at this place, but they tend to keep to themselves.. haha.

...shot through the heart.... I always hear that Bon Jovi song when I walk into this place. They play the same early 90s rock songs. Must be stuck on repeat. Drinks are cheap, they sell PBRs which is my usual drink of choice. CHEAP! The decor is awesome. I love the woodsy feel and the deer heads hanging from the walls. They have a high tech photo booth and plenty of space. If you come here after midnight its usually super packed and its hard to walk through. There is also an upstairs area, but you will definitely have a hard time getting past the crowded front area. I come in here to find trouble... and usually leave with it too. ....you give love a bad name...

  • Drew M.

I've been to the Lodge at night when it's wall to wall people & the music is loud. When with a group bar hopping, it's still a cool place to go. I've also been to the Lodge during happy hour when it's not packed...and when you can actually look and move around easily, you actually see what a cool place it is. It's like walking into a hunting lodge in the middle of downtown Orlando. The Lodge is not a regular stop for me, but I've aways had fun when there. I would definitely say that I prefer the happy hour visits versus the late night crowds.

I give The Lodge 4 stars. I'd give it 4.5 but that doesn't exist on here. It's one of the few places I've found in Orlando or anywhere for that matter that consistently plays great 80s rock all the time. I love going on Fridays and Saturdays with a group of people. When Wall St. is really packed, it seems that The Lodge maintains a good crowd. It never seems too packed. I think it's the only bar I've ever gone to where you can also go up to the bar and order 4 beers, then they hand you a 4 pack still with the plastic rings on it. It's such a dive bar. But sometimes you just need to go out and be completely casual and rock out. I agree with Suzanne's previous review for the most part. The Lodge doesn't try to be anymore than what it is. Now go grab some cheap beer, belt out some Journey or some Twisted Sister and enjoy!

The Lodge is a great place for cheap drinks, and an entertaining crowd. For some reason, all the crazy pub crawl spillovers end up at the Lodge at the end of the night, possibly for the photo booth. While they could use a few more bars, or at least bartenders, they pour a strong drink and always have a decent crowd. They also have an upstairs area which is usually less crowded than the main floor, which on the slowest nights, you're lucky if you have room to move your arm without bumping into someone. The decor is interesting- obviously a place called the lodge has several animal heads and trophies placed throughout. For some strange reason, there's also a giant Santa on the ceiling year round. I haven't quite figured that out, but then again, I haven't asked. Their seating could use a re-vamp. Last visit, there weren't any cushions in the booths, and the couch was so old I think it was growing vegetation, but you don't really go to the Lodge for a good napping spot, do you?

  • Melissa P.

I always have to stop in when I'm downtown! It's a very fun atmosphere. They are always playing music that almost anyone can sing and or dance to. The PBRs are very cheap and with the decor of the bar it just feels right drinking one. The bar is covered in deer heads and Christmas lights. It makes you feel like you're not in downtown Orlando anymore. Sometimes it can get very crowded but when it does make your way up to the upper deck and try to snag a seat. Beware of the couch because there's usually a lot of PDA there.. Unless you're into that.

This is by far Orlando's best kept secret for cheap drinks and a fun place to hang out any night of the week -- as long as it's Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday night!!!!! It gets crowded as 1am-2am(closing) approaches, but if you can stand the crowds, and like to make new friends......in the most random, awkward possible situations, then this place is DEFINITELY for you. Great $2.00PBR specials (what indie bar doesn't have that special nowadays, though) as well as liquor specials for the ladies...... 5 stars....hands down.

The Lodge is unpretentious, rustic, and a place that looks like it never quite gets completely cleaned. About as far away from Blue Martini as you are gonna get. Personally, I hate Blue Martini and its snotty staff and patrons. Ergo, The Lodge is a great place to not worry about how you're dressed and who you're seen with. I've been downtown a few times wearing jeans, Vans sneakers (gasp!), and a shirt with "I am not a nugget" emblazoned on it; a far cry from most chicks there, who seems to think wearing anything less than a tube top and 4-inch spike heels is blasphemy. But once I walked in to The Lodge, I suddenly wasn't so out of place (at least I kind of matched the guys). No techno-y dance fusion remixed rap ever played (gets old, sorry)...just good ol', well-known favorites. Price aren't too bad and the upstairs area is usually less crowded/more comfortable. A fun, casual atmosphere...good place to relax.

  • Joshua J.

The couple of times I have been here it has been crazy packed. That aside, they play fun 80's music and if you like PBR you can order it by the 12 pack. The photo booth is a fun touch as well.

  • Justin I.

We are fans of the Lodge. It's a pretty casual bar and they play good music. Cheap drinks, and a fun little spot upstairs to hang with a small group and/or people watch are the main reasons why we come here. We always see people we know too. Good vibe and fun atmosphere. You've gotta check out the Lodge if you are in downtown Orlando.

Best bar downtown. Not too big and not too small. Good staff and a good crowd most nights.

    (5)
  • Leanne B.

This place reminds me of college...and it's fun to just be visiting and know I can leave it behind when I walk out the door :) It's definitely a great place to people watch, especially from upstairs. If you can claim a couch up there, it's perfect. I only recall drinking things like Miller High Life there, so I can't speak for what they really have to offer.

    (4)
  • Erik E.

Strongly suggest avoiding. They might laugh at you if you don't order their shitty beer. Selection is really small. It's all bros and douchebags inside the two times I've been here.
