I discovered The Hideaway over 10 years ago. It was summer 2004, the year Florida had three hurricanes pass through. I think this was around the time Charlie hit. We were looking for place to chill and the Hideaway was open, much to our pleasant surprise. Since then we've been returning every so often to this little sports bar tucked away near Virginia and Orange. For years we would take our golden retriever Missy and hang out in the front patio. For awhile we were known as the "Missy" party. We would join friends and have beers, wings, burgers, philly cheese steaks. We would hit trivia night on Tuesdays, attend patio birthday parties, or just chill with a drink. Inside, you know the drill: divey atmosphere, pool table, tvs behind the bar, friendly bartenders, pinball machine, jukebox. They still don't take credit cards, but there is an ATM available. Check out the big murals from local artist Andrew Spear. Park on a side street (on the other side of Virginia) if their small lot is full. Magic and Dolphin fans are welcome. Note: smoking is allowed here, but their filtration system is pretty good. This is a real bar with no pretension. It's a constant in the area, like gravity.

A nice place to enjoy some sunshine in Orlando with great drinks and snacks. The jack Apple slush was indeed a good one, and you can get a cheaper price for refilling the cup.

The Hideaway is one of my favorite Orlando bars. Most of the people who come here are locals from all walks of life and every one of the bartenders is awesome. They also have pretty decent burgers and certainly hold their own against places like Graffiti Junktion. It is cash only bu there is an ATM there. There is also outdoor seating which is another reason to choose Hideaway over the other places around.

I went here recently with a friend who wanted to check out a beer they had on tap. I was excited because on Facebook it said they had a Cigar City Peach Cider. Unfortunately they were out of it, but the bartender made me a great peach drink to make up for it. It totally did! So just be careful of their specials and beer lists on the FB page as they may not be up to date or accurate. This is definitely a dive bar - jukebox, pool table, smoking (yup, its allowed inside), loud people, and tvs with all sorts of sports and trashy shows on. They do serve food and my friend enjoyed the patty melt that she ordered. In fact most of the food that made its way by us looked and smelled good. If I hadnt eaten beforehand I probably would have tried something out. Parking is a bit of a pain due to the location and the small "one way in and out" lot behind the bar. Definitely look for side street parking if you can.

Great place to lay low, grab a cheap drink, and enjoy the fresh Florida air. I would only recommend sitting outdoors as the inside is tres smoky. We attempted to come here when it was cool out and didn't last very long indoors - due to the aforementioned smoke. Parking can be a bit of a pickle, especially if you are a questionable driver with backing up issues. Not that I know anyone like that, just saying.

Too much smoke. Too small. Sports bar with small TVs. Beer price was fair. Great fan base though. Go Fins.

Great neighborhood dive bar, just what I was looking for. Had the Blue Moon draft & husband had a Mickeys, and we sat with the bartender trying to solve the riddle on the beer cap. They were playing good music too, I couldnt help but dance in my barstool a little. This place is on my rotation of local watering holes now.

Best hamburgers in town. There, I said it. (OK, others may have said it already, but I wholeheartedly agree!) No frills, nothing fancy about it, just a juicy burger on a perfect bun. (The hot dogs are good, too.) I've been coming here for a few years now. Whether for dinner or just drinks, the staff is very attentive and friendly. The inside is fun but sometimes smokey and loud; the outside patio, however, is always great with a good amount of seating, fans, TVs, and people watching. It's kind of an all-ages place, where you can bring friends or your dive-bar-loving dad. Parking out back is a little tight, but I usually find a spot weeknights before 7:00pm. Otherwise, you can easily find a space in one of the quaint side streets in this great little neighborhood. The only con is that they don't accept credit cards, but there's an ATM inside.

This place is the definition of dive bar: smoky, loud folks getting a little too sloshed, sassy servers keeping everyone in line. Oh, and it's filled with Miami Dolphins fans, so it really doesn't get much better than that! I stopped in while on a bike ride in the area with a friend to grab a drink, and catch up on some scores before heading back out. Decent selection of beer, and the food that passed by looked really good. I can't wait to come back for some Dolphins football and to try out the food.

Just like all other reviews this place is fun. The burgers will surprise you. They don't look big at first but you will keep on eating. The drinks are made with a loving and heavy hand. They have a weekly pool league with one of the fastest table I have experienced. Now if your not big on smoke you will want to be out side. It's a smokers paradise....

Love this place! The food is pretty good (had a basket of wings and bf had the plain cheeseburger). Beer is beer. It's kinda small and the bar is kinda tight. So if you go on a busy night expect to bump elbows with a stranger. The only downfall is that the place is cash only... Come on now, really? Went to go watch the Super Bowl and everyone was really friendly. Lots of regulars. The service is great. Will be going back often!

Nice staff friendly people. Like family atmosphere. Best bar food in town in my opinion. Try the Marino.

    (5)
  • Lita G.

Probably the last dive bar in the area. Fair prices and chill atmosphere. Just beware, it's allowed to smoke inside so even if you don't smoke you'll go home smelling as if you did. In spite of that it's actually a neat place to go to occasionally when you're tired of all the pretentious and hipster bars.

This is my favorite dive bar. Ever. My wife and I have been Hideaway regulars for a number of years now. It's usually the first stop on our bar hopping trail through Lake Ivanhoe and downtown Orlando, or a place to bring some of our closest friends and out-of-towners. Its bartenders (Rhi, Lynn, Shonette, Chelsea) are super-friendly, fun, and make a concerted effort to remember our drink and food favorites. Boy, can they mix a mean cocktail. And for only $6 for a double... goodness, who can beat that!? The buffalo hot and terriyaki merlot chicken wings are always bursting with flavor, and the burgers are oh so juicy. And did I mention the wings are only five bucks on Sundays!?! Even though we're not smokers, we still enjoy our time there. We rarely go when it's too crowded anyway. It's so budget-conscious and unpretentious at The Hideaway, that it feels like home. We simply cannot get enough. TIP FOR NEWBIES... They don't take credit or check cards, so bring cash. You'll be glad you did.

I wish this place was closer to where I live. So I do not get out here that often. When I am in the neighborhood, however, I try to get in here when I get a chance. Stopped in here yesterday and had a pint of Blue Moon ($4.00). A good price, considering some places charge $5.00 or more for a pint. I did not have anything to eat, but everyone I talk to tells me about how good the hamburger and wings are. I did buy a nice t-shirt for $12.00. Nice to find a place that has a 2XL. Usually, I have to go to Omar the Tent Maker to get some clothes that fit, but anyway..... Two ladies sitting next to me at the bar shared a basket of cheese fries. The french fries, smothered in cheese, looked appetizing. One of these days, I will have to make it in for lunch. One problem with the Hideaway is that it is dark and dimly lit. It makes reading a menu a task. I was able to make out a few draft beer selections on the menu for the beer selections, and there are a few beers on draft (Bud Light, Yuengling, Blue Moon), and several bottled beers. There is also a full liquor bar. And drinks are reasonably priced. As for draft beer, there are pints, half pitcher, and full pitchers available. There is a big bulletin board promoting any drink/kitchen specials if that helps. There is a pool table, and several televisions playing sports. On the weekend, this is a good place to go and check out a game. There are televisions on the patio as well. On the weekend, seating on the front patio is usually taken up. But it is a great place to sit, have a drink, and watch the world go by if you can find a seat. A few problems I have with the Hideaway. One is the parking lot. A rather small parking lot. There are times I continue to drive by when I see that the lot is full. If you can hit it at the right time, however, there is usually parking. I quit smoking a long time ago. But for some reason, the cigarette smoke does not bother me. But I know that it would bother other patrons. If the smoke does bother you, then it is best to go on the patio. As I said earlier, I bought a t-shirt here. And when I went to put it on, it had that nightclub/dive bar cigarette smoke odor to it. Right into the wash it went. I will admit, the doors to the Hideaway are usually propped open to allow a breeze in and air the bar out, so that helps. Other than the problems mentioned above, I really like this place. The service is prompt and friendly, and I never had any problem with anyone. It seems like everyone there is looking to relax and have a good time. The prices on both food and drink are reasonable. And if I see that the doors are open, that not only tells me that the staff is airing out the bar, but it tells me that everyone who enters is welcome. Before you enter though, make sure you have cash. No credit cards are accepted here. Now I am thinking about cheese fries!

what a dive bar ought to be. Good food, great drinks, cold beer and super friendly crew...a very eclectic and changing clientele makes for free entertainment...I go often and have never been disappointed

Another great yelp discovery for us. We were staying at the doubletree down the road and were starving for a late night dinner. Fortunately the yelp app steered us to the hideaway. The drinks flow freely, and the food is largely portioned and absolutely delicious. Depending on what you eat and drink, you can come out for under $10 / person, which is also great. Hilarious idea to have chalk and a board to write on above the urinal. There was a really funny (and dirty) joke written on it from a previous customer.

They do not accept credit cads which just doesn't work for me. There's an ATM on-site but I rather not pay the $5 transaction fee. I took off 1 star because of it. Food is greasy and tasty. I had the steak sandwich which was delicious. It had the white fat on it, which I didn't mind but some people might. My buddy had a burger which he said was good. The prices are very reasonable. It is what it is, a very smokey bar inside with a nice seating area outside, greasy food, and a decent beer selection, and very friendly service.

O hai, quintessential dive bar. Like all good dive bars, EVERYONE comes here, so whether you're a hipster looking for a cheap PBR or a Miami Dolphins fan looking for a place to watch a game (though I'm not a Dolphins fan, still +1 for the dope Andrew Spear murals outside) you'll feel comfortable and like you've been hanging out there forever. I first encountered The Hideaway during that horrible summer of '04 when we got hit with no less than three hurricanes, and I was desperate for cold beer, hot food and air conditioning. At the time, dogs wandered around the bar and it was no biggie (not sure if that was official policy at the time or they made exceptions for pooches given the Stormageddon conditions) - now, the patio is canine-friendly. I've been back over the years for Worst Music Parties, trivia, birthday parties for people and a dog (Jake - a chocolate Lab I'm pretty sure everyone at The Hideaway knows), a breast cancer awareness event and who remembers what else - and lots of beer, wings and fries. They have had full liquor for a couple years and make strong drinks, as well. The food isn't healthy but they'll crank out anything you might ask for - including cheesy bacon fries :) If you don't live close enough to walk, yeah, their parking lot is tiny but parking abounds on nearby streets.

Family owned. Staple local bar in Orlando. Best group of ladies serving and tending the bar! Best wings in town! Cash only!

  • John K.

Came in for a Coke and a burger. Its a quaint spot thats cash only and if you are smoker you will be stoked, if you are not its tough even outside. Burger wad good, not great, and the mushroom soup needed salt and pepper ( good amount of it ) Katie my server was great and very welcoming , sexy girl too :) hey im a guy what do you want from me? Id come back to see her but thats probably it.

Nice local spot where you can get a good drink for a great price and an awesome handmade burger

Divey Dive bar goodness. Friendly staff that treated you just like a regular. Some great beers on tap and in bottle. Neat artwork and murals thanks to the talented Mr. Andrew Spears and really good burgers. The burgers are really good because they are perfect when you are craving just a regular size burger with the standard ingredients. My mushroom Swiss burger was really good and my husbands Bacon Cheddar burger hit the spot. I really dig how early/late they are open. and the mix of people that frequent the bar. Cons - Cash Only but they have an ATM - Smoking inside so you must be okay with that. - Small bathrooms, Women's bathroom stall doesn't lock well Must love dives.

Dankest wings in Orlando. The bar is whatever. If you are into smokey, dim lit bars- then this place will be like heaven for you. My 5 star rating is purely on the fact they have the best wings in Orlando. Tip: Mix the sauces, try the honey mustard. Seriously, no better wings.

  • Anthony R.

Almost missed it driving by. Went on a recommendation from a friend, as I'm an out of towner. Staff was very friendly. Had the Hideaway burger along with some cheese sticks. Burger was very nice, fresh toppings, supremely tasty. Mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce were quite tasty. Very laid back vibe with three or four nice screens behind the bar to watch sports. I love places like this. And I'll be back. Need to check out the wings.

  • Ciara H.

Dive bar. The parking is scarce. If you are smoker this is definitely a place you can light up right at an inside table, if you are not a smoker and unaware of this it can really kill your appetite. Although the food is graciously priced and tasty.

The greatest bar to ever exist. That's not even a hyperbole. We've been going to Hideaway for a number of years now. Even when my husband and I were vegetarians, the staff at Hideaway (we miss you, Shelby!) would take incredible care of us in terms us giving us some awesome food. From Rhi to Katie to Lynn to Shonette....they're all great. The staff has lovingly renamed my husband Dave and he is more than happy to answer to that name. But seriously, this isn't your typical bar food...it's legitimately the tastiest stuff you will eat. My husband swears there isn't an item on the menu that he has disliked. I go for the wings and tots, though. Don't be deterred by the loud road.... this place is one Orlando's best gems.

  • Vaughn B.

Best burger in town. I could probably just end this review with that statement. Service is really good and the patio seating is fantastic. Parking can be tricky and I wish they took plastic. This place is a super secret so only tell your cool friends ok? Shhh...thanks.

    (4)
  • David D.

I'm a huge dolphins fan and the Hideaway is a hidden gem. It's a little smokey inside but other than that the wings are great and they come out fast. Overall great place to drink on their porch and watch football.

location location location...... and thats pretty much all they have going for them. "Cash only sir" what?!?! I have never been to a restaurant that dosent accept card. Your choice of miller, bud and bud light........ Not much for options.... Burger was good nothing amazing. Are you even allowed to smoke inside when you have food service????

Love this place! Recently discovered it when I happened to be in the area and was hungry. Cool little spot with an interesting crowd. The wings were amazing!!!! We had the extra hot garlic wings, YUM! And the drinks were great. The bartenders were super nice and everyone was having a great time. If I lived closer to this area, I would definitely be a regular!

  • Nikki M.

I like this bar but one bartender was great the other, sanette was not great. I was at the bar for about 15 min before I got my drinks. If a good looking guy for to the bar after I ordered, they would get their drinks before I would

Nice dive bar between Orange Ave. (Ivanhoe area) and Mills/17-92. The staff is fun, the patio is nice (the inside is too smoky for me), and the beer is present. They have your standard offerings for decent prices. I drive past The Hideaway Bar and its Andrew Spear mural when commuting to work and became curious enough to try it. I went with one of my roommates on St. Patrick's Day earlier this year (yes, the review is late). I ordered a pint of Guinness and my roommate ordered a Magner's Cider. Both were good. The food was okay, but it felt a little over-priced. I ordered the chili cheese burger and my roommate got chicken strips with onion rings. Pretty standard and not that memorable. The woman behind the bar was friendly and funny, and all the other staff seemed relaxed and chill, so props for that. The environment was very laid back, which is another positive. If you're looking for a bar to relax at (preferably outside) with a beer in hand, this is a good spot for that.

  • Morgan M.

I found this place by accident yesterday. The staff was really personable and friendly. I went around 4:00pm, the place was packed and they greeted almost everyone that came in by name. The inside is cool and they also have a large porch outside. Guests can smoke inside and out. Bring cash or be prepared to go to the ATM. There's one pool table and a couple arcade style games. I got the mushroom Swiss burger and opted for the potato salad side (it's either that or potato chips). The burger was great! I wish they would have asked how I wanted it cooked but the favors were awesome and the bun was fantastic. The potato salad wasn't to my liking but that's my own fault (don't really like potato chips or potato salad). All in all this place was great. Definite dive bar scene, and I will for sure be back to try the wings.

  • Colleen B.

Strongbow is their cider of choice, I can live with that. The casual setting is where it's at. This place is bumpin' during weekdays on the patio. Grab a drink, have a meeting, just relax and take in the lovely surrounding of Ivanhoe Village. The dope artwork of Andrew Spear cascades across the outdoor walls and the detail and creativeness is impeccable. I have yet to be inside but who needs indoors when you have a dope outdoor loungy area in Orlando =) My only two complaints are it's a bit loud outside when bikes drive by. Also, the parking lot is TINY!

    (4)
  • Brandon S.

Best burgers in town! Cheap drinks, Great neighborhood bar and friendly staff!! Love it.

    (5)
  • M J.

Their burgers are the best! Juicy, flavorful, cooked just right. My favorite is the mushroom swiss with sauteed onions. The patio is great especially in the evenings with the breeze but the indoors could use a strong breeze now and then. The smoke is intense for those of us who don't smoke. Don't forget to bring cash unless you're okay with using the ATM, cash only plesae! The staff is super friendly and attentive as long as they aren't short handed. A great place to kick back with a beer and burger for sure.

    (4)
  • Chris D.

#1) it's a smoking bar and 2) cash only. We have been several times and the food is great. Last night we split a patty melt but in the past we have tried the hot dog, the Marino sub, the Reuben, ham/cheese Sammy. All are great!! I would give it a 5 but due to the smoke factor, I am giving it a 4.

    (4)
  • Sue J.

Super smoky. Atmosphere is odd, too bright to be really divey, kind of a like a ratty pool hall. Great if you're into that kind of thing I guess. I'm not. Decent outdoor seating.

  • Bunny N.

Good stuff! After driving past the Hideaway two times a day for two years,I finally was able to check it out. I sat at the front patio, where you have a view of the street and passing cars. It was sunny that day I went, so it was very relaxing. They had a good deal going on with drinks... $2.25 for a 7 and 7. Bought the Alfredo french fries that were actually pretty good. Servers were extremely attentive and were very nice. I felt very welcomed, and as though I've been a patron of years! Just be warned, this place is cash only. They do have an ATM inside though. Loved it!

  • Scott T.

For BAR FOOD, this place is a great choice. Start with the wings, which they are known for, and work your way down the menu from there. I'm not as familiar with the alcohol choices at Hideaway, but I think I recall they are beer and wine only? The beer is ice cold and spot on, just not sure the selection is real deep beyond there. I don't give out 4 stars lightly, but for BAR FOOD, I think Hideaway warrants the high marks. My biggest reason for not frequenting the place more often is the smoking...seems to be everywhere, indoor and out. And the loyal patrons are all big smokers, so you get smoked out sometimes. The parking situation is crazy too, be careful even pulling into the lot in a large SUV, because getting back out can be a real challenge. If you drive a bike, or an electric or pedal power tiny car, you like smoke, and enjoy good food...you may have found your new home.

    (4)

Don't be deceived by the fact that it's a cash bar. Awesome wings and drink specials! Bartenders (and Rob, the Cook) are friendly and welcoming!). Great neighborhood bar.

    (5)
  • Kelly K.

Dog friendly :) Good food and drink specials. Inside allows smoking which gets intense on a busy night. I suggest sitting outside, only downfall about outside is the tiny, old TV sets. But definitely not a deal breaker. This is one of my favorite hangouts. Love my Lynn... she's the best server there! CASH ONLY!

Great little neighborhood spot in a great neighborhood, hidden away on Virginia just off Ivanhoe row. Small and dimly lit with pool tables inside, quite a few tables crowded in on the front patio for a lively happy hour spot. Seems like typical bar food from what I saw, the only thing we tried were the wings and they were good.

    (4)
  • Jenna W.

This place is awesome....especially if your a Miami Dolphins fan such as myself. It's definitely a little hole in the wall kind of place that doesn't necessarily "look" very fancy. But they have the best wings, great service, and good prices. This is definitely our new hang out on football Sundays. I definitely recommend this place if your into beer, wings, football, and fun!

    (5)
  • Cliff F.

This is my kind of shit hole and I mean that in the most respectable way. What's not to love about this place.. Friendly bartenders and wait staff at least on the occasions I've been, an assortment of local eclectic characters which adds to the personality of this place. Chalk boards above the pisser's, so you can catch up on useless facts and the ever changing art that is drawn on a whim. You can have a smoke without some whimpering ass bitching about how your killing them and society. The grub coming out of the tiny kitchen is every bit on par with all the other more desirable bars in the area plus you have some what of a chefs table or in this case it would be more like a cooks table, nonetheless it's Entertainment! Note: **Parking can be a real bitch so you best have good driving skills sober and drunk if you plan on using their lot. ** Be respectful of the pool table patrons it dots the center of the bar.

Great spot for us nightshift health care workers to grab a drink after a long shift at 7am. smoking permitted inside which is the only downfall, but the drinks and strong and the food is good!

  • Joey D.

Love this place. No frills, no pretention. Exactly what a dive should be! Just people from all walks of life leaving their egos at the door to relax and have a good time. Food is deep fried deliciousness. Staff is very friendly. Not a huge craft beer selection, but at least more than your average bar. Cash only!

    (5)
  • Juan U.

It's a smokey, somewhat noisy dive bar. And I love it! If you want to hang out in a casual environment, eat some wings, enjoy a beer (they now serve craft beers!), and watch sports, then this place is for you. Plus, if you are a Miami Dolphins fan, this is great place to watch NFL games, since Miami fans come to the Hideaway, to cheer (and cry on their beers) for their beloved Fins!

  • Jason A.

Great dive bar! Gotta get the Hideaway Burger. Wings are great too. One of my favorite bars in Orlando, especially when the Dolphins are playing.

  • Mike Z.

I was here a few times this past week (most recently, last night) and, as always, had an awesome time. The staff is so personable, funny and friendly. The prices can't be beat, either - there's a special right now ... $2.50 for mixed Bacardi drinks ... all flavors. What a deal! Last night, I asked to have The Hideaway Special burger but with the grilled rye toast from the patty melt instead of just a regular hamburger bun. Of course, they were more than happy to do it ... and it came out so, so good. I probably will be here pretty often in the coming months for football and whatnot, so look for me! I love this place.

  • Frances F.

Good place to bike to on a lazy weekend and grab a drink. The outside area is really nice but the inside looked a little scary.. Good prices, good service, and such a cute location. Oh, and apparently everyone in there is a Miami Dolphins fan.

  • Doug T.

I've been here once and can't wait to go back. This is the kind of bar where the staff always knows you by name and usually has your favorite drink poured for you before you even sit down. They are extremely personable and fun. The Burgers are awesome. The drinks are awesome. And everything is well priced. I don't believe they accept plastic but there is an ATM inside, and come early if you want a good parking spot. The lot is little.

    (5)
  • Gordon S.

Great neighborhood bar in the Ivanhoe Village district, but remember the Hideaway is CASH ONLY and the fees at the cash machine are steep. Cheap drinks, with a varied beer menu and drink specials almost all of the time. Good food: burgers, quesadillas, wings, and the Hot Marino sandwich (I recommend this one pressed Cuban-style). On any given night there is likely to be some stiff competition on the pool table. Parking is tight, but many patrons walk or bike to the Hideaway.

    (5)
  • tiffany w.

A great place to go if you don't feel like putting on makeup and you just want to hang out with good friends. The chicken wings are great. The outdoor seating is pretty good. The place does tend to get very busy and parking can be a challenge more often then not. It's also a little pricer then one would expect, but still a good place to go for beer, wings, and good company.

  • Juan P.

Nice and friendly place. Service is very fast, food is to die for. First time there and I know that I will be back soon. We ate the teriyaki hot chicken wings with garlic sauce and a BBQ pork sandwich. We don't know which was better. Bartenders know their business and are always checking up on everybody. My glass was never empty. If you like friendly loud places that you can smoke in,definitely you have to try it.

Nice local dive bar. Miami Dolphins and a side of Nascar decor all over the place. One pool table. Nice friendly staff and i got captain and coke for $2.50 during happy hour. Nice vibe and plenty of T.V.s. People allowed to smoke inside so you have been warned.

This place has the BEST burgers. Sooooo good. I always sit outside because it gets tres smokey indoors. They have a nice outdoor area. The staff are always nice. Perfect little "hidden" place in O-town!

The Hideaway definitely falls into the dive category, but has some character and quirks that makes it a fun stop on a bar crawl of Orlando bars. They have a limited menu of food but the kitchen stays open until 1am each night. It's not a terribly large space but it's open enough for a big group with a pool table, a juke box and patio seating. Overall- fun atmosphere with the right crowd, a bit smokey, and parking may be tough.

The best thing about this place is that it is a Miami Dolphins bar! I went every Sunday to watch my team this year and had a blast doing it. It's small, but on certain games they open up the back and you can sit outside. You can also sit out front too. The drinks are cheap and you can smoke in the bar. I don't smoke, but if you have a problem with smoking than go somewhere that you won't bother anyone with your complaining. Good food too, I tried almost everything and was never disappointed. Try the Hot Marino Sub, the wings (when we played Baltimore, they blackened them, which I think should be an ultimate stay on the menu), Roast Beef sandwich, and the Fajitas. And just like Johnny, it's CASH ONLY.

Great local 'dive' bar, but bring your cash or use the ATM. Some of the best burgers in town. Good beer prices (and food prices, actually-a lot of people call in lunch orders). Interesting crowd.

This bar has the basic ingredients to be my favorite divey-local place: an obscure location off the beaten track, outdoor seating, dark ambiance. We went on a Saturday night to grab a burger and wings, and had an ok experience--nothing to write home about (but something to write Yelp about). The good: cool location, decent local bar atmosphere, good chili cheeseburger, good selection of bers The bad: awful service. It took over half an hour to get an order of wings! And the place was half-empty. Granted, it seemed like only one person was working there and I'm sure it was hard to keep up....but this sucks when you're hungry and just looking for a fast bite of greasy food. The burger, as said above, was pretty good (though we weren't asked how we wanted it cooked...it came out medium-well), but the wings were mediocre and too saucy for my taste. I'd try this place again--maybe during a Dolphins game for the full effect.

No doubt. What a great bar. Local, mellow, and good pinball. The food is A+, and the prices are cheap! I'm not sure I have anything bad to say. You can smoke, it rocks, and PINBALL!!!!!

  • Doron R.

This place is definitely growing on me more and more. I am still not a fan of the excessive smoke inside, but everyone (staff especially) is super friendly, the food is really solid bar food (they don't stray from what they know). And with the upcoming addition of liquor, I have a feeling I will be here even more.

Ended up here on a whim ... I had never been before. I had the hideaway special (Burger with A1 sauce) and 10 wings (speical 10 wings for $5.00). GREAT BURGER and GREAT WINGS !! Def. glad we stumbled upon this place and will return.

A great place to stop in for a drink. Friendly and unassuming. The (new!) full liquor bar takes the Hideaway to a whole new level! And the fourth star is for having my favorite cider, Strongbow.

  • Many times have I brought friends and family to the Hideaway to prove that Orlando is not all Mickey Mouse and chain restarants. On the contrary--hidden gems are just waiting to be discovered, and The Hideaway Bar and Grille is one of the best. Upon introducing said friends, never have these lucky ducks failed to express enthusiastic enjoyment for this quaint little dive. The Hideaway has been in the same location for over 60 years, and one could imagine the same characters sitting in the same stools every day since then. Even so, this is NOT an old man pub. Its trademark seems to be that every type of person--from younglings to old war vets to hipsters to bikers--simply everyone fits in and finds something to love at the Hideaway. I heartily recommend lounging on the patio and burying your face in the humungous hand-shaped burgers, but only if you love a big juicy burger that drips down your arms and makes you moan. Personally, I go for the Hideaway Special--the combination of crispy bacon and A1 sauce just hits that YUMMM burger spot. You know the one I mean. Other food is good too--big and meaty hot wings, silly-big quesadillas, and a cheesesteak sub that is too good for words. Not to be overlooked, The Hideaway has been voted CHEAPEST BEER IN ORLANDO by Calendar magazine. The cheapness is not outdone by the selection, which is impressive for such a tiny sports-pub establishment. The bar service is efficient as well--often the affable owner, Chip, will wait on you himself and always makes pleasant conversation. Go there. Do it. You'll love it. I brought my rugby team in for one social event and now they won't leave (as Shannon, the ever-smiling barmaid informs me). The reasons for such loyalty will become obvious after one visit. Have I perhaps gone overboard with praise? Well, so be it. After living in Orlando my whole life, I can easily say this bar is my favorite. Whether you're looking for a casual spot that's good for lazy afternoon rendezvous or beer-fueled late-night dancing on the pool table, The Hideaway just can't be beat.

Great little hangout. Burgers are pretty good, but if your there just to eat you might want to outside, it is pretty smokey inside.

Nice neighborhood dive bar. Kinda sorta off the beaten path, so you have to look closely if you don't live in the area, or you'll drive right by it - several times. Parking is tighter than other Yelp reviews indicated. Not as smoky as we feared. Great jukebox. Friendly beer-tenders who know all the regulars. Who all know each other. And this place is definitely a "regulars" kind of bar. We ordered tots to go along with our beer. Crispy-fried, just the way we like our dive bar food. Nice portion served in a large, oval plastic basket. Ketchup as a condiment + toothpicks for utensils makes our 'meal' complete. We were making our way south into Orlando for a concert @ the Amway, and The Hideaway was an exactly-perfect fit as a locals-only dive bar stop along our all-day pub crawl. We liked everything about it, and will make sure we remember where it is and how we got there the next time we find ourselves in this area of Orlando.

  • Patti M.

  • Jayson H.

  • Jullie C.

    (4)

  • Pam H.

  • Nikki M.

I like this bar but one bartender was great the other, sanette was not great. I was at the bar for about 15 min before I got my drinks. If a good looking guy for to the bar after I ordered, they would get their drinks before I would

  • David D.

I'm a huge dolphins fan and the Hideaway is a hidden gem. It's a little smokey inside but other than that the wings are great and they come out fast. Overall great place to drink on their porch and watch football.

  • Sue J.

Super smoky. Atmosphere is odd, too bright to be really divey, kind of a like a ratty pool hall. Great if you're into that kind of thing I guess. I'm not. Decent outdoor seating.

Loved it!

Don't be deceived by the fact that it's a cash bar. Awesome wings and drink specials! Bartenders (and Rob, the Cook) are friendly and welcoming!). Great neighborhood bar.

CASH ONLY!

Dive nirvana pre, during, or post game. Fun, friendly staff, good beer, and great bar food!

Great dive bar! Gotta get the Hideaway Burger. Wings are great too. One of my favorite bars in Orlando, especially when the Dolphins are playing.
