i am so glad that the hammered lamb has replaced ethos at this location! mostly bc i think that it is better suited to be a bar. but the compliments don't stop there. the atmosphere is great--live music, great drinks, NOT HOT in their outdoor space even in july, and...they give you free shots when a train passes. the service is great, even when there is a crowd, professional and friendly. came here for a birthday and they happily stored the cake all day until our party arrived and even helped to light the candles and present the cake to the birthday boy. they offer lots of parking for bikes out front and the view of lake ivanhoe is nice. perfect addition to the blossoming neighborhood scene!

Would give a zero but can't. Went here last night to try it out as a new place, we have been trying to get around to as many places on the Orlando Weekly restaurant week list as possible this month. My wife and I were there for about 20 minutes and no one said a word to us, absolutely no service. When we got there, there was only one table (of about 6) available outside and it was dirty, so bussed it ourselves and sat down. We were going to originally sit inside but it felt weird because there was literally no one in there, no staff, bartender or guest. We looked over the drink menu and there was really nothing special. Anyways, we wanted to eat, some of the appetizers sounded really good, after 20 minutes we got up and walked out leaving the still dirty table for the enjoyment or not of anyone else. Bottom line, this place needs to get its act together or it won't make it to 2014. I won't be returning or recommending it to anyone.

I ended up coming to The Hammered Lamb on a rainy Sunday . I sat outside under the canopy and had a few drinks and a meal. Needless to say I will def. be back . . . and soon. The place is very new but took over the place of a previous restaurant that moved, so the place flows well. They have your average domestics as well as a few craft beers (I think it's good to have some of each to cater to all possible patrons). As well, they have liquor and wine. And . . . like a few places in Orlando, they over free shots (nothing fancy) when a train goes by. The train tracks are out back (and there is a wall built to block as much noise as possible) and the front of the restaurant faces Lake Ivanhoe. The service was pretty darn good; we had one of the owners as the server so I'm sure that was why; but it's very refreshing to know the owners are that involved/hands on. I had a 312 beer which is a somewhat craft beer out of Goose Island/Chicago. And I also had a Jack and Coke, which was minimal in it's Coke. (c: For my meal I had the grilled cheese which had a few types of cheese in it, some apple (trust me) and I opted to add the pecan crusted bacon. This sandwich was a good sized sandwich and served with better than average potato chips and some berry jam for either the sandwich or chips. This sandwich is something I crave now. It was delicious! I would say that I'd like to see more bacon on the sandwich (it came with two slices). Our table had the hummus dip that comes with crustini style chips. I'm very anxious to when they will start serving their buffalo wings . . . Pros: Good selection of drinks and food. Price is decent. Cons: Since Orlando is starting to see a LARGE trend of craft beers offered, I would suggest more (but don't get rid of domestics either). All in all, I was impressed upon my first visit and will def. be back!

So this place is pretty cool. The location is really close to my house, which I love and it seems like a great place to just go hang out with some friends. There is indoor seating and an outdoor patio but be careful what time of day you go. Afternoon on the patio is HOT with a black roof over it. They had a full service bar and specials as well. As for food, I had the fruit and veggie focaccia ... pears, apples, spinach, booseberry jam, and machego cheese... YUM! It was really tasty but I was kind of disappointed with the size compared to the price. Parking is never pleasant in this area but if you get there early or at a weird time you might luck out. Overall, I like this place. Not sure I'd come back for food but I'd definitely come back for some drinks on the patio.

SO glad we came here for Sunday Brunch. Reserved tables were available before 1pm so that worked for us arriving at 11a. Typical pricing on food for that area but GREAT menu items. Very diverse and not your usual fare. Bloody Mary bar was plentiful with a variety of mixes to choose from. Mimosa's were $3 or $5 for a double. Grilled cheese sandwich made me want to get up and dance. But I was too busy wolfing it down. Fontina cheese, goat cheese, spinach and more. Side of pesto pasta salad and a blackberry jam. If I had a bigger stomach and a dark closet to secretly eat a second sandwich in, I would have! Our table of 5 also had a sunrise flatbread and the biscuits and gravy. No one left hungry. PLUS...they give out free shots every time a train goes by on the tracks right behind the restaurant! The only draw-back was the high volume of the music. Both inside and out; way too loud. Could not easily converse with our party. Service was spread too thin....making it a slow meal but it wasn't her fault for being essentially alone to wait tables and tend bar. Comfortable seating outside on the patio with TV's and fans. Would easily come here again.

I eat here about twice a month and can never decide on my favorite lunch item. Everything I've had is delicious! The french dip is high on the list as well as the tangy chicken sandwich and all of the pita flat breads. Love them all and will continue to keep coming back.

Awesome addition to Ivanhoe Village. We've been coming here since it opened & we've noticed little changes here and there for the better. The beer selection has gotten better, I dont think they have space for much more tap selection. The food is decent bar food. The buffalo chicken dip, lamb quesadilla & grilled cheese are the best things on the menu. Everyone is polite & it's a great place to hang out with friends - inside or on the patio.

LOVE this bars atmosphere! The outdoor bar is great, can't wait to enjoy it in cooler weather. The wings are grilled to perfection! Go and find out what happens when a train goes by.

Awesome drink prices, fun location (there's an indoor and outdoor), and friendly people. If you live in Winter Park, College Park, or even Downtown Orlando this spot is ideal! Can't wait to see how it grows :-)

We love this place! The vibe is super cool! Brunch is a must! Love the Brunch Bowl! Sooo good. We love the drinks specials and especially love the shots when a train goes by! The only thing I dislike and my five friends agree is the singer sunshines voice

Went here for brunch on a Sunday. Loved the food! My friend and I split the french toast and I had a flat bread with eggs, garlic and goat cheese. Can't beat the $5 DOUBLE MIMOSA! Staff was very friendly. I'll be back for brunch without a doubt.

I attended a trivia event at Hammered Lamb recently, so as expected, it was really crowded, and I wasn't expecting much for service. You know how it goes, there are a ton of tables all ordering at once, so then there is a looooooooong wait for drinks, and another looooong wait for food, and then chaos at the end of the evening trying to figure out who ordered what so the server can split up everyone's checks, and the server being annoyed and overwhelmed by all the patrons pulling him in all directions. Well, none of the above happened. And there were a lot of us. Our server took very good care of us, ensuring that our drinks were never empty, and our food came out hot and quick. And he seemed genuinely happy to be there. I wish I had gotten his name, so I could give him a shout out. It's hard-workers like him that put the "service" in the service industry. Hammered Lamb is perfect for happy hour, grabbing a spot on their patio when the weather is nice, or even inside, where there are some high tops and tables. I enjoyed the beer menu, ordering a Bold City's Killer Whale Cream Ale (from Jacksonville and on tap!), and an order of the hot seafood dip. The dip comes out hot and creamy with pieces of toast for dipping. I kept eyeing my friend's roasted lamb flatbread, but didn't get to sneak a bite. Maybe next time! Their menu also features some sandwiches, salads and other appetizer-type dishes, so if you are looking for a full on meat and potatoes entree you are out of luck. Just order a beer and some apps and sit back and enjoy the friendly atmosphere!

Cool place, but nothing to write home about... Drinks are good. Food is okay. Free shots are an excellent bonus.

So they do this thing where they pass out shots every time the train speeds by. I suppose people may or may not care for that.... it's nice of them, but the train is not that bad really. I can't comment on food because we did not feel like hunting down our server to place our order... That was really the only downfall to my experience here. The service left a lot to be desired. Happy hour specials at good prices if you like bottled domestic beer. They had basic wine selections included in the HR special as well as some cocktails.

I was pretty bummed when Ethos moved a few years back so got excited when this place said they were opening up at this location (I actually followed them through the renovations and couldn't wait for them to open). But I was disappointed. Big time. The outside is still pretty great but that's the only reason I'd come here again. The beer selection is decent but overpriced and the food was average. Everyone here on Yelp is pretty excited about the train shots, but they're all sugar and no booze. Happy hour is $2 shitty beer, if you're into that thing. I didn't go back until this past Friday to watch the Orlando City game. They are an official City Pub through OCSC which means they definitely play the game with sound! Except NOT. We showed up at 5:45 for 7pm kickoff and the patio was packed. I expected this as the happy hour crowd is pretty huge here, but two large tables were reserved for 7:30. Seriously?! Then I noticed a band setting up so I asked if they'd be playing the game sound or if the band was slated for the same time. They said no game sound outside. Huge strike one. Obviously if this wasn't one of four downtown Orlando City pubs, this wouldn't have been a big deal. I can see how regulars would be disappointed to see a bunch of City fans taking over and no band as usual. But this is the only reason we decided to come here. They need to decide which they want to be. So we tried to get a seat inside. If you've never been, the inside is no fun (unless maybe you're at the bar up front but I've never been able to get a seat there). The back where the tables are is a windowless room with tacky beer signs and a ping pong table. They do not use their space well so the last open table had no view of the tv. We asked the server if we could move it over a little and she though that would be fine but then another guy came over and was pretty rude about it. I get it if we'd be blocking aisles, causing a fire hazard or generally making the servers job more difficult, but where we wanted to move the table was none of those things. The guy just kept saying we could see fine, but only half the table could see anything. So we left and went to the Lucky Lure who were much nicer and accommodating about it! When we came back to get our bikes after the game I overheard a guy saying he'll never be back for another City game. Ditto.

The food was delicious! I had the biscuits and gravy. Its the best biscuits and gravy I've had in years besides homemade. The free shot when the train passed was awesome and I was so surprised that a train passed at all on a Sunday. We sat out in the patio which was super hot and not by choice because we had a large party but at least they left us pitchers of water from which to pour ourselves some h3o to stay hydrated. The double mimosas are huge and more than worth the price. Parking was lucky because it's limited parallel parking. I'd come again though!

Well hello there free-shots-every-time-the-train-passes-by -- talk about happy hour! Right across from Lake Ivanhoe, The Hammered Lamb is the perfect place to enjoy post work drinks with friends. With discounted beers, wines & cocktails, as well as free shots, The Hammered Lamb will definitely take care of you when you stop by. Enjoy the drinks on their patio, enjoy the people watching as they walk across Orange, work off the drinks you consumed by walking around the lake afterwards. Casual atmosphere, games to play, The Hammered Lamb makes it easy to enjoy your afternoons. Go check it out!

It is possible for a place to be cool, but average. To like it, but not love it. That is the Hammered Lamb for me. Overall, it was a good time in a good atmosphere - although definitely more of a Downtown Orlando vibe here than in the surrounding area. They had a really good beer selection, both in bottles and draft....and the bartenders seemed to like big glasses and heavy pours. The food seemed better than your average bar...I had a really good chicken sandwich, and my friend liked the lamb quesadilla. Although, I could've skipped the side of pasta salad. Frilly, artistic, food presentation it is not - but with a line of people 3 deep at the bar, and a DJ cranking 90's throwback rap tunes, I don't expect it. I saw a few things on the menu that I'd try on a couple of return visits though. The big patio is awesome, and seems to have a lot of regulars - the ping pong tables are a nice gimmick. My biggest complaint though would be the service. They seemed extremely understaffed, and while I was lucky enough to grab a bar seat, I could visibly see and feel the frustration of customers hoping to flag down the bartender. Even seated at the bar, I had an empty drink for a solid 15+ minutes. It was a busy Saturday night though...and they were trying. Still though, it was an interesting place...with good drinks, better-than-average bar food, and a fun crowd. Just bring with you a giant sign to hold up that says "I need a drink!" Update: I've stopped in twice since my first visit, and the service was friendly and attentive so I changed from 3 stars to 4. Just go to the female bartenders and you should be OK. :)

I came here on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. Some local DJs were playing, and the music was very smooth and chic. I felt like I was in Miami for a minute. I ordered the Brekkie Burrito, and I had a few mimosas. I enjoyed my burrito, and I thought it was really cool how they passed out free shots whenever the train went by. I would've given this place four stars, but the service wasn't all that great. I wasn't greeted when I walked in (I wasn't sure where I was at first!), and the servers weren't very friendly nor were they attentive. I'll give this place another try.. Maybe for dinner.

Free train shots every time a train passes by and great ambiance. Their food is good too! Make sure you try their seafood dip!

There's so much to like here. They always have drink specials, their servers are FAST and friendly. And the food is excellent. Get the Lamb quesadilla- you will not be disappointed. Early evening I prefer inside, but the patio is huge and so much fun late night when they have a DJ. Plenty of TVs around. the do partner with some local stores to provide parking, but sometimes that can fluctuate.

Free shots when a train passes by? How can you not enjoy a bar like this? Very fun atmosphere: loud music, ping pong, and pool. Add all of that with good drinks and a great staff, it's definitely a fun spot in Ivanhoe Village.

I've been to The Hammered Lamb several times and while it's not my favorite spot it's just good enough that we keep going back. I have found the inside bar to typically be much less crowded than the outside. Of course, being Florida this depends on the weather. We usually hang out inside and play darts. I have a tiny gripe with the arrangement of this area. They have two ping-pong tables and the dart board in a pretty tight space. It seems like they could move the dart board to make more room. As it is now if someone is at the ping-pong table there's not really enough room to play darts. For the most part this doesn't matter because everyone is outside, but as soon as it starts raining there will be ten people crammed in that little game area, and it's ridiculous. I don't think the bartenders actually leave the bar. So if you want drinks you have to go up there and get them. They don't seem to clear glasses often either. So, that's something. We usually order beers here and are happy with the selection. There is always something good on tap. In general, it's a good place. Service isn't so hot, but it's a good spot to hang out, play some games, and drink some beer.

  • Amanda W.

Not my favorite brunch location. I'm not sure that I would go again, unless I made a reservation outside. The hightops, tvs, and ping pong tables inside aren't really a good Sunday morning atmosphere. The mimosa bar was impressive (11 juices to mix!), but the rest of the menu was limited. Our entrees (french toast and lamb omelette burrito) were good, but we choice from a short list. It is a good place for a liquid brunch, but there are much better places to enjoy a Sunday morning or some good food.

Greasy food and not a cool place to trendy. The swamp dip was just oil and cheese not good. Disappointed in what people thing is good the Bloody Mary bar was cheap and dirty.

  • Randolph Z.

Honestly, it would have been a two or possibly three star experience if it weren't for all the free alcohol. The waitress messed something up, just a little mind you, so I got a free beer. She was so overworked with the train shots and all, that Aw, what the hell. Take four stars. About those train shots, the Sunrail goes right by this place and makes quite the racket. So, they make lemonade by giving free shots (little ones) each time it passes. Not sure if they're still doing this. But yeah, there was live music which just wasn't right somehow... levels or treble or some shit... Yeah, it wasn't that good, but I got free drinks.

Second time going last night really cool vibe and the best throwback jams. Love to get drunk here!

There are some good young(!) hard working staff here (from downtown), but the overall experience was disappointing. First, the concept seems to be more trash bar than pub. They would do better further south on Orange ave, like in the heart of downtown. Feels like the whole place wondered Orange Ave too far north landing in the otherwise more mature Ivanhoe district. Ivanhoe isn't to stuffy (Lucky Lure isn't highbrow, does a great job and us rewarded for executing as advertised). Hammered Lamb just markets something it is not. There is a big emphasis on selling shots. There are dozens of bottles of cheap store brand mixers on the bar. Small shots of something sweet (think Spring Break) are handed out free when a train passes, but the gesture seems more to lube the spending then a buyback. The bar and fixtures are cold and unappealing. If the name and soccer affiliation has you thinking Pub or Gastro-pub...Hammered Lamb isn't either of those. Too bad, great location. PS. The screaming trivia guy and prevalent smoking also leave much to be desired.

  • FrancesMarie S.

We visited for brunch and very much enjoyed our meal. The service staff was friendly and chatty and the food tasted fresh. My only regret is that they would make the mimosas with real juice, not the concentrates.

  • Rachel C.

Hammered lamb brunch is where it's at. The Bloody Mary bar is like a meal in itself. Seriously every Bloody Mary garnish/snack you could think of. And they give you FREE train shots every time the train goes by! They also have a great selection of food for brunch that isn't overpriced like a lot of places in Orlando. And it happens Saturday AND Sunday. Not sure what else you could ask for. It is awesome.

Arranged a going away party for a coworker at the Hammered Lamb.. I hosted around 20 people. Pros: Lots of space out on the (GORGEOUS) patio! Drinks for any discerning taste Good selection of appetizers to share Very willing to work with large groups and accepted a reservation Cons: Parking is very limited - if you have 20 people coming in 20 cars, expect them to run into issues Service is slow - perhaps not enough staff for busy nights? Food was okay - nothing particularly memorable. All in all, I'd take a group back for drinks but probably not eat there.

I came here recently for a trivia event benefitting a charitable organization. Because of this, it was probably much more crowded than it normally is. I'm sure the location was at its maximum capacity! There's an outdoor bar area with all sorts of games (darts, ping pong) but we were mainly inside (thank goodness because it was humid as usual). Our team of 6 squeezed around a hightop table and I will say that our server was great about bouncing between tables, taking orders and checking back to make sure we were all good to go. We did learn that every time a train passes, free shots are passed around. We experienced this once . If you are a cheapskate, Fridays may be more your speed - they say that's when it's the busiest between trains, Sunrail, etc! But for goodness sake, please tip too! My friend and I ordered the hot seafood dip to split which was pretty tasty as it came with pieces of crisp toast to slather the dip onto. I did notice that our server somehow took our dish away before we were finished so probably a good idea for them to ask before assuming patrons are finished. It wasn't that big of a deal but still. They also have a pretty lengthy beer menu- I ordered a Stella Artois Cidre which isn't seen very often and got a high 5 from the server. Must be one of his faves! Overall, this seems like a pretty chill spot to hang out after work and even grab a bite to eat (you are limited to sandwiches, salads, flatbread type foods). Parking can be a bit of a pain as it is mainly first come, first serve on the street or if you happen to be lucky enough to snag a spot in any of the lots that are tucked away.

My last experience at the Hammered Lamb was not very good.. actually..it was very disappointing. There were two men working behind the bar wearing regular street clothes. You know, shorts, and a Billabong shirt. My friend and I sat there while we waited to get the bartender's attention. It wasn't even busy that night so I was surprised I actually had to flag someone down. I ordered the Lambdilla which is a quesodilla with lamb in it. Once it came out, I wasn't impressed by the way it looked at all. There was absolutely no presentation. Next to it was tzatiki sauce in a small cup... that had water in it. I mixed it up to make it better (I'm not really picky and I hate sending things back). I don't know if these guys were the B-crew on a Friday night but come on. Service wasn't very pleasant. Some guy started waiting on us towards the end of our visit who was much nicer and friendly- he actually smiles! Come on Hammered Lamb, where are your friendly staff at on a Friday night?

The Hammered Lamb is one of my all time favorite spots to happy hour (yes, I made it a verb.) It faces west and the sunset over Ivanhoe Lake (that's probably not the name of that body of water, but work with me lol) is very beautiful! The drinks are good, the atmosphere is fun and casual and we LOVE playing ping pong here. We've eaten appetizers at HL one time and everything was delicious! I've only got good things to say :)

A fun place to get a drink and watch the sunset. The bar food is actually very good. The veggie quesadilla is great. Try the buffalo chicken dip and you won't be disappointed. Sunday is especially fun. Don't miss Trivia with Scottie.

I live by Lake Highland High School so I am pretty close to the hammered lamb. It is by far my favorite bar in that area. The bartenders are well aware and I never go without a drink. If you're looking for a fun new spot with a great lake view then you found it. enjoy. P.S- they give away free shots EVERY TIME a train goes by

In the spirit of full disclosure, I have a weekly trivia night at The Hammered Lamb, but I've been a fan since before that arrangement. Also, since I'm making the disclosure "full" I should mention that is a volunteer gig -- we raise money for charity -- so I have not financial stake in my review. Situated in a lovely row of white buildings that live Lake Ivanhoe, The Hammered Lamb is a casual, neighborhood bar where friendly faces greet you to help you get your drink on. If you like your cocktails, I'd say you shouldn't miss The Lambert, lite and fruity complete with floating blue berries. I usually go for the brews and I simply ask a bartender to give me something Florida they recommend. I will say, if you haven't tried the Swamp Ape, you should go for that. The food is on the casual side. The "can't miss" item, in my opinion is the Swamp Dip. It does have the forementioned Swamp Ape in it, but I actually didn't connect that until after stuffing my face with it on many visits. They also have some of Orlando's best wings. I hope you'll join us for Trivia Night on Tuesdays around 6pm. It's free. We raise money for Florida Little Dog Rescue -- Hammered Lamb gives the cause a percentage of the bar. Oh, almost forgot: there are FREE trainshots each time the train (usually SunRail) goes by.

The Hammered Lamb defies easy description. It's definitely a dive bar, but it's hard to say where it fits in to the Orlando dive bar scene. Johnny's Fillin' Station attracts an older, white, blue-collar sports-bar crowd. Oblivion Taproom has younger, hipper, tattooed, rockabilly feel. The Hammered Lamb is something else. The craft beer selection is pretty good, although it's not a powerhouse like The Thirsty Topher. The Bud Light crowd definitely drinks here, too. I didn't try the cocktails, but they also seem to be a mix of aspiring craft cocktails and cheap well drinks. I ordered the lamb flatbread, which was pretty good. The patrons are very diverse, especially on the outdoor patio. The crowd indoors was white, twenty-something, and very preppy--is this where the Rollins kids go slumming? I didn't realize that people still wear loafers without socks! One unique feature is a ping-pong table. I enjoyed an hour of practice with a very good player, who good-naturedly humored my attempts to return his volleys. The ping-pong table might be the only reason I come back. This place is HOT. There's no evening breeze on the patio, and even indoors the air conditioning can't keep up. It's very loud and it feels crowded, and seating indoors is very limited. People come here to drink, not talk. Those are all things you can expect in a dive bar...but not my favorite way spend an evening. For what it is, the Hammered Lamb does a pretty good job. I was truly impressed how the bartender at the outdoor bar kept up with the nonstop stream of customers, opening and closing tabs without confusion, under deafening conditions.

This place is very laid back. Definitely a hidden gem in Orlando. $2 for a blue moon! Can't beat it! Absolutely love this place and I've only been here an hour. Great music and very friendly staff. I will say Parking is a pain. Hardly any spots, but I came early so I managed to find one. Parallel parking right off orange ave is slightly scary too. The free shots every time a train passes too is fun! Inside and outside bars. Not for the yuppidy type.

This is great place to catch a quick bite. Like the other reviews said, there is a lot to like here. Happy hour is Monday through Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm. But if you miss happy hour don't fret, the menu has specials going on for every day of the week from 7 pm to 2 am. How neat is that? The place is nice, the outdoor seating is pretty awesome if you want to chill and relax. The prices are decent for food and drinks. The food: The menu has a lot interesting dishes. I tried the Lamb quesadilla as it was recommended by our waitress. The quesadilla was good, it came with tzatziki sauce for dipping. The only thing I didn't like its the fact that my dish didn't come with any sides. Even though my friend I missed Happy Hour by 3 minutes we were glad to see that the specialty drinks were half off on Mondays. I ordered the Melissa Mojito which was a mix of Dragon berry rum, mint, lime and strawberry puree. The drink was really good. What I really liked was the cranberry vodka shot that we got for free every time the train passed. The service: Our servers (we had more than one) were nice, recommended the food and drinks. The only thing that was odd is that after our food and drinks came out, we never saw them until it was time for us to leave. That being said I can't say it was horrible. I had a great experience overall. The food was good, the service was OK and who on earth wouldn't like free shots every time the train passes? Four stars all the way.

The Hammered Lamb was our stop for lunch after paddle boarding on Lake Ivanhoe. Yelpers speak of poor service, but we had a really attentive server and were pleased with the service we received. The patio is the best part about Hammered Lamb. There's no reason to venture into the dark inside (unless your ready for a game of ping pong), the patio is where it's at. The Bloody Mary bar and double mimosas were top notch. Unfortunately, the food doesn't live up to its menu descriptions. Brunch is OK. There were some good options, but no slam dunks. Lunch/dinner options are more in the category of bar food, but if that's your thing, the buffalo chicken dip is pretty delicious and is good for sharing. Also, train shots. Not too many trains over the weekend, but happy hour is a different story. :)

This place was alright. I sat outside with a couple friends and the ambiance was pleasant. It wasn't amazing but also wasn't dreadful, just pleasant. Parking kinda sucked. There was only a little tiny lot next door, half of the parking was reserved for the furniture store. Another dinky lot was a few doors down, but it was full. I parked in a spot for the furniture store bc they were closed and it was raining so I really was just hoping that would be fine. I wasn't towed so... That's a plus. The beers were delivered within an adequate amount of time (although I usually would like to know where my beer is before I even ask for it) and free shots when the train went by was a nice surprise. Lots of places don't do cute things like that. Prices were fair but could have been more fair for the scale of establishment. I give it a three star experience.

We stopped in for Sunday brunch. The build your own bloody Mary bar was fantastic. Don't plan having more than one if you want to operate heavy machinery as they do not skimp on the vodka. The brunch menu is short but thoughtful. I ordered the breakfast BLT and my companion had the shrimp and grits. My sammich was tasty but I would suggest ordering the egg over medium or you'll end up with yolk running down your hand. The shrimp and grits was very good but not quite what you'd get in Savanah. Overall a very nice experience. Go early or plan on waiting a bit as this is a popular spot in the trendy Ivanhoe neighborhood. The service is friendly and efficient which was impressive considering how busy they were.

My favorite place in Orlando! Amazing staff and killer beer selection, great bar food as well. Try the house wings or the grilled cheese with bacon!

Train shots for free every time the Sun Rail drives by? Drink specials after 4:00pm, friendly staff, and a Bloody Mary bar to die for with, I believe now over 50 add-ons for said bloody marys? Awesome. This is a great place to people watch, get some cheap drinks and spend some time with friends. I find myself here pretty often, the only thing I'm not crazy about is the quality of the food. It's not bad, but it's not great, and you're surrounded by great food in the area, so I primarily stick to drinking when I come here, though the buffalo dip is pretty great. The staff has always been fantastic when we've been, and the regulars are even more fun. A great local Orlando bar.

I came here with two of my friends the other week for brunch on a Saturday. I had been here once previously, but this was the first time I tried anything from their menu. I had the French toast with bacon, and a blood orange mimosa. The food was delicious, and the mimosa was well made. Additionally, the wait staff were very friendly and down to earth. The highlight to this visit was the atmosphere, though. They have a beautiful covered patio, that allows you to enjoy the Florida weather without getting overheated. And they are dog friendly, which is always a plus!

My wife and I dined here last night and it was awesome. Very friendly and prompt service. Attentive but not overbearing. Had the swamp dip, which had just the right amount of kick, and the tangy chicken sandwich. In addition to the barbecue flavor the slaw gives this sandwich a really nice combination of textures and flavors. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food here. The potato salad has a wonderful smoky flavor and the pasta salad has the perfect amount of pesto... Oh. 1 more thing; train shots!

I don't know. I adore sheep too much to see them in this state. I'm a lightweight drinker, so wine and train shot--well, 1/4 train shot, was All I got. I wanted food, but the server really never visited. . .and then came by to apologize that he hadn't. . . And then we didn't see him again until we cashed out. If anything, it's great to meet up for drinks with the outside seating. The heaters were on for us In the cool.

Lake Ivanhoe Village is a quaint neighborhood in Orlando filled with antique shops and cozy restaurants along Orange Avenue. One such eatery took over the space when Ethos Vegan Kitchen relocated to Winter Park. The Hammered Lamb has made great use of the space by adding an outdoor bar and dining area while the inside is anything but inviting. I write about the food in restaurant and this is not a place we would ever go again. The Hammered Lamb to me comes across more as an alcohol haven and the food is merely an afterthought. The indoor area has only a small handful of tables surrounded by a pool table and a large bar. However, my friend Chad and I visited on a perfect Florida winter day just after 1pm and choose a table in the outdoor dining area. The space feels tropical with tables flanked by Florida foliage and heat lamps. There is nothing better than sitting outside on a chilly Florida evening enjoying a beverage under one of those powerful heat lamps. But on to the reason why we were here- the food. We started with the red pepper hummus served with crostini. The hummus was delicious- flavorful and slightly spicy. The menu is small- sandwiches, salads, flatbreads and appetizers. Despite its size, there is something for everyone's tastes and dietary needs. We tried the veggie quesadillas as well. Sweet potatoes, black beans, spinach, goat cheese, peppers and onions topped with tomato confit and served with a side a a chipotle cream sauce. The quesadillas were rich and hearty. Delicious. Chad and I also decided to split the gourmet grilled cheese sandwich. Challah bread filled with fontina, cheddar, goat cheese, apples and spinach. It's a lot of cheese (which one would expect from a "grilled cheese") but very little of the apples and spinach. There was nothing unique about this sandwich. The accompanying potato salad was tart and creamy. It would be a perfect companion to the lamb flatbread or the shredded chicken sandwich. Something salty. We liked The Hammered Lamb but I am not sure it is a place we would frequent for food- the menu is very limited. If the temperature is right, the outdoor patio is perfect for a beverage. However, for those super humid summer days I am not sure I would feel comfortable in the fraternity-ish indoor atmosphere. Parking is hard to find in the area as well. However, the restaurant is worth a visit when you have the time to enjoy the outdoors and maybe a beer or two.

Hammered Lamb is ok. It's never blown me away. The property is nice and they generally have decent drinks available and I've never had their food so I can't judge that. But there's always something 'off' feeling about it. Last night they kept switching between older alternative and then country - what? The service was slow and I've never had exceptional service here. All in all, it's just an ok place to me.

The Hammered Lamb has a lot to offer when it comes to pubs: prime real estate on a strip off Lake Ivanhoe, an interesting Greek fusion menu of sorts, free shots when the train rolls by, and funky decor & games galore inside the pub. I would say that this place is a better time for party goers rather than those that want to have a quiet, relaxed meal. I'd like to come back and see how the Hammered Lamb compares on a regular day, perhaps for brunch or lunch. We made our visit in the late evening when there was a Florida football game on. We sat outside with the masses of Gator lovers at a table in the middle of the walking space. It was a bit uncomfortable having to move when people decided to walk by. We resolved this issue by moving our table closer toward the grassy area to the right. It was also rather loud due to the live band playing, cheers from the game watching and obnoxious drunk people. I suppose I wasn't in the right mood for the ambiance offered here but again, I can see the draw for those that like a good time. To eat, we had the lamb flat bread that was prepared generously with lamb and olives. I wish I had ordered this! We also had the buffalo dip, which was very delicious with the most notable flavors being buffalo and onion. I had ordered the veggie quesadilla, which I was not fond of because I failed to read that it was made with goat cheese. I don't like goat cheese all too much so having it in the quesadilla was not a fun time for me. All in all, the Hammered Lamb was a-okay. I'd like to go back when I am in the right mood for this kind of place. I feel old saying it but long gone are my partying days so I would likely come back for a meal earlier in the day. :-)

Came here for the first time on a Sunday and immediately liked the atmosphere. There is a big outdoor bar and dining area and the inside has a large bar with plenty of table seating. Lots of drink brunch specials like $5 double mimosas (well worth it) and the Bloody Mary bar. The train tracks that run right behind the outdoor bar offer you the opportunity to watch the Amtrak pass by within feet and after the train is gone the bartenders pass out free train shots! I ordered the Breakfast BLT and it was delicious with a perfect size portion for a hungry stomach. Would recommend this place to any and all, but probably not the ideal location to bring young ones. Top 10 for fun brunch spots in Orlando.

Build you own Bloody Mary on Sunday. There's so much to choose from, it's like a meal in a glass! They have Zing Zang mix which is my favorite. They are busy for Sunday brunch, so be prepared to wait, especially if you want to sit outside. I ordered the shrimp and grits off the brunch menu. It wasn't the best shrimp and grits I've ever had, but it was tasty. I would probably go with something else next time. I love the locally owned vibe of this place and will definitely return soon.

I went to try this place with my boyfriend and his coworkers. The food was delicious, I ordered the hot seafood dip along with The O (an alcoholic drink). Everything was perfect, the food, environment, and the experience. However a couple hours later, my body started to get really hot and I felt really dizzy. I went to the bathroom and was really sick. It wasn't the feeling of being drunk. Mind you, I had one drink, then two glasses of water. My stomach was really upset. It might of been bad food or bad preparations. But that's why I rated this place the way I did. It was the end result of me not feeling very well after one entree of food. :/

I wasn't all that impressed with the location. But then again I stopped in close to closing and stayed on the outpost patio. Good food however...! Their dip, the wings...wow.

I recently visited The Hammered Lamb for a quick late night snack after seeing a production at The Venue. This place is awesome for many reasons! First off, they are amazing art on the walls inside for purchase from local artist. Second, they offer FREE Train Shots every time the a train passes by behind the building. I thought they were great for being free. A train went by twice when I was here ;) I order chicken wings & a BBQ sandwich. Both were delicious, tasty, served hot, reasonable prices, & great portion sizes. The server was very sweet, attentive, & professional. He made feel right at home with ease. Inside they have free games like Ping Pong, darts, & Wii sports. They also have local/upcoming events posted throughout the bar from local organizations. My second recent visit went well too. I ordered a Margarita in honor of National Tequila Day!! It cost $7 for a strong drink! The bartender was kind, attentive, & fast. I highly recommended this place for a great hang out among friends, quick bite to eat, or just to pop in to have drink & look at amazing art.

We came by for a drink and appetizer after work on Saturday. It was very crowded because everyone was going to watch the soccer game. We grabbed the last seats at the bar, asked about the specials and order cocktails which were delivered promptly. We had a seafood appetizer dip that was outstanding, generous amount of tasty grilled bread paired with a creamy rich dip full of shrimp. A lively group was there bc of soccer so it was fun !

The bartenders ignore you leaving you needing a drink. I've had better service some nights but for the most part it's not acceptable. I'm not a needy customer and I expect horrible service, I definitely get it every time.

Finally checked out this place and I kinda liked it. The list of drinks had a good variety and decent prices. We were there on a friday night and still got discounts on our drinks (which are a pretty good size by the way). My favorite part was the free shot every time the train went by, it was very sweet and sour but I really liked it! The atmosphere in the outside bar was quite chill, while inside seemed very cozy. The only thing I really didn't like about this place was the music, it was some of the most horrible top 40, but most people like that I guess. Anyway, I would definitely go back.

Moved into the area a couple weeks ago and stumbled upon this place when we were walking around. I thought the name itself was pretty neat. I was trying to picture what a drunken lamb would look like venturing around. It would almost be neat if they had a lamb character that walked around crooked at night and patrons could get a picture with it, could probably make money doing that too :) I went here on one night that was extremely busy for some fundraiser and then the other couple times here were during the day. I think it's a great day spot. The patio stays cool and it's a great little spot to people watch and hear some good tunes. The one thing that impressed me was that the music has consistently been good. Good beach vibe, laid back music. They have a great happy hour and I believe the bottle of wine we got was half off during the happy hour. We also tried the buffalo chicken dip and that was very good. The inside is neat as well. They have a couple ping pong tables and really cool artwork on the walls. Definitely a cool spot to check out.

LOVED this place! Definitely taking every and all visitors to this spot. Partner and I went for brunch on a Saturday morning(ish). Food was delish. He ordered biscuits and gravy, I ordered the brekkie burrito (I liked his biscuits more than my burrito because carbs, lol, but both were good). HEAVY pours. He ordered a double and they practically filled the glass with liquor. Apparently their standard pour is quite large. Bloody mary bar cannot be beat, nor can the mimosas (a billion flavors), nor the $3 apple shots. Shots for all every time a train goes by (ummm... WHAT??), and most badass bartender ever. Writing this has me ready to go back right now. 0 complaints on this place.

Perfect Sunday Funday place or just when the weather is nice. Outdoor seating area out looking lake Ivanhoe. Live music on Sundays, Bloody Mary bar, and mimosa specials. Very chill atmosphere and usually good company, plus you can bring your dog (which I love). When a train goes by they also give out free shots!! The food is just ok but I mostly come here for the drinks so it works. They have a great happy hour and a good craft beer selection so can't go wrong. Service is always friendly and good.

Came in with some friends after work for happy hour and we had a great time. Very laid back vibe and the servers were friendly. We ordered the hummus platter and it was just okay but the grilled cheese sandwich (with bacon, duh) was to die for. The train also came by 3 times while we were there so we were pretty happy

Our server was super nice and super awesome. The mimosas are good if you are like me and the thought of a bloody mary makes your guts churn. The shrimp and grits are excellent even though the they don't use the best grits they could. What I really didn't care for at all was the booming loud club music they were playing at Sunday brunch. Brunch is a very social thing. People WANT to talk over some lovely beverages and food. They also are likely to be HUNGOVER and don't want to hear pop crap tripe blasting over the sound system. The music they play....reminds of those clubs downtown that reek of vomit. I enjoyed this mind you, but I wouldn't go out of my way to brunch here when there are so many other places that offer cheap mimosas, great food, and adult atmosphere.

I really wanted to like this place. Went for brunch in the early afternoon, expecting a wait so the 40 minutes they told us for a table for 2 wasn't a surprise. That was after we hunted down the host since there was no one at the door greeting people. They sent us a text and then took us off the list when we were walking back to accept the table. Had to get back on the list. Finally got a table. The host sat us at a table that could have sat 8 so of course the server was pissed. She was rude from the beginning and basically ignored us. We got the $10 seafood dip that was greasy and not very good. I got the check at that point because it had been 2 and a half hours since we had gotten there and the girl hadn't even asked to take our order. The Bloody Mary bar is the only redeeming factor. I would go back to drink at the bar but forget trying to have brunch here.

Visited here my very first time on a Sunday for their acclaimed Bloody Mary bar. Albeit I missed the pick your own toppings bar, I walked in to an extremely loud and crowded scene where it was very hard to get a spot to order a drink. For a new comer this can be a bit intimidating but I held strong. I ordered two Bloody Mary's ($7 each), staff was attentive. But our bloodies were meh, with brown limes (uh really?) and tasting watered down without much of any flavor that I could identify. We did get free train shots that were very tasty. Other than that can't say it was a special experience.

Great beer selection, but free shots? Free shots of something fruity while drinking craft beer? Food was mediocre, BBQ chicken sandwich was bland and potato salad was way too salty. Wings with the house Sriracha/agave were actually pretty good. Good place to go get a drink, full bar and great draft and bottle beer selection. Not a place to grab dinner or if you are looking for something other than bar food.

We've been here a few times and we are always impressed with their food and their extensive build-your-own Bloody Mary bar with pepper and bacon infused vodkas... PRO TIP: the olives that appear to be stuffed with mozzarella are actually garlic

I'm not going to lie, despite the 2 stars this is actually one of my favorite hangouts in Orlando, specifically the Ivanhoe Village. I crave their BLT and I really enjoy their take on shrimp and grits. Overall the menu is pretty solid and I don't hear many of my friends knock their orders. The Bloody Mary bar is by far the main attraction for me, with an endless combination of tasty things to top your drink with so that it resembles that over-the-top Bloody Mary with the pizza wedged on the glass like a slice of orange and so on. I enjoy the atmosphere and whenever I can I choose to sit on the patio. Even in the summer its bearable and they have many TVs to watch while I wait for friends to arrive. The free train shots are always welcome, too. However my only complaint is the service. For the love of Christ, can they please hire decent waitstaff or enough to handle the number of patrons? I've been coming here for at least a year, and its been getting progressively worse. It's gone from "sometimes the service is hit or miss" to a very embarrassing birthday brunch. Many of my friends and I came to celebrate my birthday a few weeks ago, and aside from waiting a good 45 minutes just to order and another 45 minutes just to get food some of the food wasn't very good and overall service was not even mediocre. I kept apologizing to my friends saying, "I'm sorry, normally service isn't this bad." To be honest, I've not been back since.

I was there recently for a trivia night and had a good time. In part because of the game and in part because of our server. The server (I wish I would've gotten his name to give him kudos) was pleasant, on top of everything, helpful, and made the evening even more fun. Yes, he didn't split up the check at first but he came out, split it when he realized that we were all paying separately and came out just a minute later with the checks given to each of us. He didn't even blink and all of our bills were taken care of within a matter of a few minutes. That alone was miraculous because the place was packed for the trivia night, all the seats were filled and the help was running their tooshies off. We appreciated him being so helpful and funny! I had never been to the Lamb before so me and my friends were concerned about parking at night. It wasn't horrible, I have to admit. The food was good. One person at the table got an amazing looking grilled cheese that she said was excellent. I didn't have a cocktail since I was driving; okay, well, one shot from the train shot (every time a train passes by everyone gets shots on the house!). I made sure to eat plenty afterwards and drink plenty of water. It's a fun concept. I will absolutely be back as my husband loves lamb and I saw that there was plenty of dishes with lamb in them. Thanks, HL, for a fun night!

The mimosa doubles are only $5 for brunch, which is amazing! The Brekkie burrito was fantastic and perfect! I love that someone recommended me to this place! The waitress was a bit strained but there were lots of people here. Train shots?! Love it! That's such a cool little idea! 5 stars! A definite must if you live in Orlando. I have been to plenty of places that offer mimosas but not one like this! The doubles for only $5 on Sundays?! Wonderful.

This is my new spot. The Hammered Lamb is in a great location on Orange Avenue in the Ivanhoe area. You walk first into the patio that overlooks Orange Ave and the lake across the street. Sunset is the perfect time to relax on the patio and enjoy a drink. While their drink menu may not be particularly robust, they still have a great offering of trendy, unique cocktails. I got The Lambert which had Huckleberry vodka in it, served in a mason jar. Very cute, refreshing, and strong! My husband, a beer snob, was content with the Swamp Ape IPA. They do offer a limited food menu, which is not a bad thing as long as the items are good. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich that was really good and tasted fresh. My husband got the Sloppy Lamb which was basically a BBQ lamb sandwich. He loved his as well. It is true that when the train behind the building goes by you are delivered a mystery shot by the bartender. It didn't taste like there was too much alcohol in the shot, but its the thought and quirkiness that counts. Overall, great location, good food, good drinks. You cannot go wrong visiting the Hammered Lamb. I hope it's here to stay.

I love this place. The drinks are good and the happy hour is untouchable. They had great live music when I went on Friday, though it was WAY too loud in areas of the bar. The bartenders are friendly and the good is better than expected. We had the swamp dip, which was guilty pleasure at it's best, though I wish it came with more crostini. Bonus: every time a train goes by, the bar gets free "train shots." AMAZING concept, but I don't think there was any booze in em ;)

  • Jamil M.

The wings are excellent with a variety of flavors. And every time a train goes by you get a FREE shot! They have an outdoor seating area that is sheltered in case of rain. They also $4.50 drafts all day everyday on Sam Adams. Great relaxing and chill vibe during the week days and a DJ on the weekends.

I finally got to try this place and I was NOT disappointed! The patio was great atmosphere to hang out and enjoy a happy hour. My drinks were perfectly made and delicious, the food was fan-effing-tastic, and the service was spot on. I'd love it if the menu was a little longer but I'll take it how I can get it as long as that swamp dip stays!

Came here for brunch on Sunday. The Bloody Mary bar is a MUST. They infuse their own vodkas (citrus, pepper, bacon....HELLO!? Bacon flavored vodka!!). Select the one you want and make your way to the "buffet" , select your tomato juice preference (I counted 6 choices ranging from plain to spicy, to super spicy, to a clam based one) and then There are so may embellishments to choose from (lemons , limes, several types of olives, pickles, celery, shrimp, bacon, salami, mushrooms, cheese, horseradish, etc). On to the food...we ordered the flatbread with eggs. They were cooked to sunny side up perfection. The winner was the shrimp and grits which reminded me of a deconstructed baked potato. Creamy grits with perfectly grilled shrimp, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar and green onion....perfect for soaking up all that Bloody Mary. The vibe is chill. Servers and bartender are relaxed but attentive. Can't wait to try their mimosas should I ever venture back in the area.

This looks like a fun place to hang out. I was here briefly meeting up with some friends during the Ivanhoe Village Jingle Eve event. I had ordered a drink, but we had to go and the bartender was nice enough to put it in a to go cup. Their craft beer selection seemed OK. I would have liked to try their food. They still have the original Ethos bike corral out front. Perfect for me, since I rode my bike here. And when I came back from other places later that night, it was still sitting here safe and sound. I hope to get here again to explore more of the menu..

My first visit here was long overdue. I liked what I saw. The bar is right on Orange Ave., in a very nice and convenient section of town. I was here later in the evening so we did not try any food. The bar itself is very nice, and I like the way it is divided into an indoor and outdoor space. Outside was tables and a DJ, inside had the same music with a few less decibels, a nice set up. The DJ was playing 80's dance music, a fun mix. Service at the bar was fast friendly and prices were good.

Full disclosure: I went in with a tasty buzz already... It was a gorgeous day so we enjoyed the outdoor patio. Lotsa seating, chilled out. Happy hour had 2/4/1 drinks on a Saturday so we took advantage. At one point during the visit, I recall having read a sign behind the bar--it mentioned a special for whenever a train rolled by. Tthe details are sketchy but after talking to the bartender about it she brought our party a cup full of blueberries that'd been sitting in booze. Man those boozeberries, they were no joke. I wish I could remember exactly how they relate to the train, but alas, no dice. Great locale right across the street from the lake, friendly service. Good times.

What a fun place! I've only had the opportunity to sit outside so far. No idea what the inside is like. It's in a great location. Plenty of bicycle parking out front. I look forward to the free train shot if the opportunity arises. The first time I visited was on a busy Sunday afternoon. The service was great despite the crowd. They had live music playing mostly 90s alternative stuff. I liked it but it was too loud to carry out any kind of decent conversation with a group of people. Weekday happy hours are fun. Very quiet - only a handful of people in the place. The deal is buy one and get two (pre-selected) drinks or one is half off. I ordered the lambadilla, since I've heard wonderful things about it, and didn't realize until far too late that the server put in my order for a vegetarian quesadilla. I don't know if that says a lot about their veggie dishes or very little for my sense of taste.

Sat at the bar for 20 min until we finally decided to wave our arms around desperately trying to seek the bartenders attention. When we did, they could hardly be bothered to acknowledge our existence. If your thirst has previously been quenched then this is the bar for you!

Afternoon brunch and mimosas impromptu. Chicken quesadillas were really good. Mimosas were perfect for a hot summer day

We had a Birthday get together here Saturday evening and it was wonderful. None of us had been here before, but it sounded like a cool place. We sat outside and enjoyed the cool air (and heaters, since it was unusually cool this weekend). The bartenders/waitstaff was very nice and knowledgeable of everything offered. Roger was our waiter and he was great! Never had a waiter that asked our names and remembered them throughout the evening. The menu, although very limited was great. Everything we had was great...quesadillas, flatbreads, seafood dip, gyros, French dip, chicken salad-salad. Very good craft beer selection too. We left at 10:00pm since the 2nd wave of patrons were coming in and it looked like it was going into 'club' mode. Our crowd is too old for that mode. We will be back! A very fun place for great food and drink

After a really intense yoga class, my fellow yogi and I decided we needed some antioxidants to help nourish our bodies.Naturally we were craving them in liquid form. I was looking forward to wetting my palate on a tall glass of red at Harmony Bistro when I got the very unfortunate news that it had closed while I was living abroad last year. Awful, awful news! But i digress. Still thirsty, and now hungry, I recall a friend telling me to check out Hammered Lamb. It was a cool night out but with all the energy taking place on the patio, we decided to wrestle up a spot by a heater and sit at the outdoor bar. The best part about sitting outdoors is that every time a train passes you get a free shot! It's no Patron or anything (in fact, I believe that it's some sort of well vodka with juice) but still yummy and fun. It's probably a good thing that it's not the hard stuff too, since the hour and 1/2 that we were there, the train passed twice and we still had our own drinks to work on. From a wine lover, I gotta say that I don't think this is the place to go when you're in the mood for some vino. Also, I don't find that the Hammered Lamb is where you'd want to go for a good meal. I had the lamb pitas and was not all that impressed. My friend had the chicken fontina flatbread, and although it was good... it was really small. I'm thinking this is the place to be if you want a fun night out with a group of friends, or want to make friends (ladies, there were men by the carload lining the bar), have some beers, maybe a few shots, etc. I'll certainty give this place another go but as of right now, it's just another outdoor bar (a lot like Ember) in my mind.

Great little place with a relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely return. Live band, good food and very reasonable price drinks. What more can one ask for.

A new space with potential in the Ivanhood. Also, it was packed this weekend- gotta love seeing solid turnout for a new spot. The Hammered Lamb is divided into indoor and outdoor space - both areas have long bars and seating, and indoors, there's a game room in the back as well. I was surprised there was so much contrast between the indoor and outdoor spaces. Inside had just a bit of a frat-house vibe - 90s music (Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers etc), numerous large TVs showing Magic games, ping-pong, darts, beer sign decor... while outside is a chill, brick-walled patio lined with plants and a great view of Lake Ivanhoe (good spot perhaps for happy hour, this is a magnificent view when it's light out). There's also some local art on display inside. Beer list has a curated selection of craft beers on draft and in the bottle/can. They were out of the first IPA I ordered but were able to quickly recommend something else. They need to add the ABV to the beer menu, hopefully just a newbie oversight. They also have full liquor and are planning to add a light-bites bar menu soon. Parking isn't too bad and they have a bike rack. Overall, really curious to see how the bar's personality & audience evolve - Sports bar? Lakefront lounge? Some successful hybrid of both?

This is a definitive neighborhood hangout. Local friendly staff, very good food, indoor and outdoor seating with views of lake Ivanhoe sunsets. Not by any means romantic, but you should know that by the name of the place. Free train shots with 44 north, and pingpong in a chilly inside space. They sometimes host special events but they rarely advertise so ask the bartenders.... I think I hear the train coming.

I used to like Hammered Lamb more than I do now. Maybe it's the difference in bartenders, I am not sure. But I wish I knew, because the quality of their cocktails has taken a nosedive as of late while their prices continue to rise (sorry, but I can no longer justify paying $9.50 for what used to be $7 and mixed a lot better). And their appetizers have never been anything spectacular to begin with. Still, I do enjoy the ambiance (inside and outside) every time I go, plus being able to play ping pong while drinking is always fun. It's an essential stop whenever we go bar hopping.

I met up with some friends here to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Sunday afternoon and had some expectations which unfortunately were not met at all. (my friend had hyped this place up for their bloody mary bar and brunch options.) I joined our party later and most people had already ordered drinks. I sat at the table for nearly 20 minutes before the server came over to take my drink order. It took an unreasonable amount of time for her to then come back and take food orders. About 20-30 minutes after my friend and I placed orders for food (she ordered a BLT and I ordered the breakfast flatbread--two very quick and uncomplicated orders) we asked our server what the hold up was. She acted like she didn't even remember that we ordered (I think she forgot to put our order in) because it still took another ten minutes to get our food. My flatbread was totally disappointing. A cheap piece of bread with two eggs, a few bits of diced onions and tomato and cheese. Totally underwhelming and absolutely horrid service.

Where do I begin? The cheese/meat tray was incredible. The veal was excellent. Service was great. Will be returning !!

Our first time here after hearing about it from a few friends. Food was good. Had a chicken quesadilla. Friends had wings and lamb quesadilla. Everyone liked their food. Beer: good selection of craft beers (Moo-hoo, 90 min IPA. Even beer snobs like us found something decent to drink). A tad more expensive than other craft beer bars ($1-$2 per beer). Free shots when the train goes by! Nice outside seating area. They played the music extremely loud and conversation was impossible. It really ruined it. A trio went on stage and it got even louder. Nice music and all but we all had to yell at each other. Service: we ordered beers at the bar. Not sure if there are servers. A little slow in comparison to other beer bars. Nice and ample inside area with table tennis, electronic dart board and other games. The music inside was not as loud, probably because the place was empty (the weather was too nice to be indoors).

LOVE the patio here and LOVED the Friday DJ. Nice mix of old and new school, very well done, he even looked like he was MIXING, not just letting an Ipod do it for him. Inside is nice and clean, with all the standards for a bar. Bar staff VERY cool. Infact, the bouncer is the ONLY one I had in Orlando even recognize that I just celebrated my birthday. It may not seem like much, but little touches like that make me want to go back. Checked out their food menu, and was sad I wasn't hungry. Not a large menu, but a few safe standards and a few unique signature items that sounded intriguing. Drink prices about standard. Small but good selection of craft draughts. A little on the high end but nothing outrageous (about 5-6 each).

Okay so this is long overdue.... I'm not sure what was going on for a bit over there... but we have been back now 3 more times and they have all been great! The service, the food, the staff, and atmosphere have all been stellar. This makes me happy that they must have realized there was a problem. Perhaps someone does read these things. lol This is a place we love and look forward to visiting often and it's so close to home too. The only reason I am giving a 4(plus a half star) instead of 5 is because the parking can be hard to find when the bar is just over half capacity. In fact we opted to go to a place around the corner the other night because we would have had to park there anyways .lol Seriously though, we really love this place and we would definitely recommend giving The Hammered Lamb a try(or a second try)! Great job you guys!

I went here for a couple of drinks with a friend - the location is great, especially at sunset, when you can see the orange sky over Lake Ivanhoe. I think that was the highlight of my drinking experience there. They have a good beer list and the occasional shots are fun but the servers didn't come around very often and it gets really loud outside. There isn't a lot of seating outside but on the plus side, it does not smell like cigarette smoke, like a lot of outdoor drinking areas do.

I work down the road so I've been a few times. Last time was for trivia on a Tuesday. It was pretty fun trivia I just wish more people were there. We won but we also didn't have much competition. Service at the bar is always subpar. I feel ignored. Once we got our first round of drinks at the bar we moved to a table and got great service. Maybe the guy at the bar was in the weeds? We shared a chicken flat bread and it was really good! I would absolutely order it again. We were told to get the chicken dip but were on a time crunch so we only had the flat bread. Wish I could say more about the food in the review because I have a feeling it does not disappoint! They have train shots, which we eventually had to cut off because the sunrail goes by so often. Yes, they even do train shots for the sunrail! I know I'm going back. I am there about once a month. Next time I'll make sure I have time to try some of their food. DOG FRIENDLY!

A nice casual bar in Lake Ivanhoe neighborhood. Spacious interior with a nice game area that has a pool tables, games, TVs, darts. Outdoor bar is fun, with live music on certain nights.

I am absolutely amazed to see the positive reviews for this place. I have been to the Hammered Lamb on 3 separate occasions, all within time of one another. On all 3 occasions my service has been terrible. It's disappointing because of the amazing location and atmosphere. On my first visit, myself and two friends sat down at the bar. With two bartenders behind the bar, we waited 15 minutes without even a glance. The couple next to us even realized and laughed and gave us their menus. We then even began to play trivia there before we were even greeted by a bartender. After 20 minutes, we stood up to leave and as we did a bartender finally looked at us. It was almost like he knew we were there and was waiting for us to leave. On my following visit I sat at the bar again and was again not served for 15 minutes. After we were finally served we sat there again with empty drinks and were never refilled. We finally gave up, paid our tabs and left. I really wish this place would get their service together because this place has such great potential. And did I mention that I am a bartender as well, which makes this even more disappointing.

have only been in once but tried several times before. It wasn't crowded but I couldn't make it past the BLARING music which rendered actual conversation impossible. The one time I did go in the music levels allowed conversation. It was a weeknight after the trains finished so no Train Shots for me. Great idea though! Will def try again.

Well, I have to say, I was not impressed with this joint at all. It wasn't all bad, so I'll start with the good: Bloody Mary bar for brunch- fantastic. Excellent choices of vodka, from flavored to organic infused (I recommend the herbed one with rosemary, very nice) with every thing you could possibly think of to put into a bloody mary and more. Proscuitto, pickles, asparagus, olives up the yin yang, veggies, cheese, pepperoni and salami, a virtual cornucopia of delightful goodies. Even Pickapeppa! I would go here for this alone. And I mean that. Nothing else. Just be cautious of messy people getting drunk and touching things. (not the restaurant's fault) If you don't want to hear the negatives, stop here. The food- dear gawd no. There were a variety of items on the table from veggie quesadillas to burned wings to some kind of sad omelette, a flatbread the size of a tea saucer... just don't. I ordered the lambadilla and it was presented to me on a lovely white plate with a thick black hair neatly lain across the side. No, I don't want another one if they'll leave something that obvious on the outside, what's on the INside. No. Everything was small and pitiful for the price. $10 for a quesadilla as thin as folded piece of paper. Come on guys, don't be shy with that stuff, at least make sure your guests get full? Something? I don't know. It was just so... let's just say everyone looked down at their plates, frowned, looked back up as if to say "really?" and then began to eat. Except for me... cause I don't like to eat hair. The poor service- this poor guy was so confused and seemed so frazzled by having everyone sitting inside that you could tell his head was spinning. It wasn't too busy, but it seemed like if he had been, he probably would have cried. Bless his heart for trying though, however he could have taken the whole table's (of 10) order at once. It would have been cool for everyone's food to come out at the same time... though it wasn't worth eating anyway. So, I ended up eating leftovers at home, which were awesome anyway, but I had two great bloody mary's while I was there.

Nice little chill spot in a nice part of the city with a great environment. The bartenders were on point and very professional. Large beer selection, including some local stuff. Didn't try their food but I assume it is primarily fried. DJ Flint D was providing the music when I went, he was genre hoping like crazy but everyone was having a blast none the less. They also have some game tables and a photo booth with a few tv's throughout the bar. All in all it's a great spot to get away from the heavier and rowdier crowds and one of the better spots in the area.

I truly enjoy Hammered Lamb. My friends and I actually frequent the bar. I imagine a couple of my friends are there more than some of the employees. I have only eaten there once. I found the food to be decent. Although I would agree that the presentation isn't the greatest, I do not really expect too much from a place that is more of a drinking/hangout place that serves food and not the other way around. I will save my judgements on presentation for the restaurants. I will agree that some nights the service has been a little slow. I have never experienced rude or disconnected employees though. The nights I have experienced slow service it has been understandable. Those things happen sometimes no matter where you go. All in all, Hammered Lamb is a great place to hang out. I enjoy the outside area and just sitting and chilling with my friends. We are able to talk cause it's not too loud and really enjoy the atmosphere. I also enjoy that it is in a quieter part of town and not right downtown. Sometimes the people downtown can ruin a night before it starts. The Lamb typically has a more mature crowd. Looking forward to fall on that patio!!!

Any place that gives you a shot when the very loud train goes by is A-Ok in my bar book! Inhabiting the former Ethos locale, Hammered Lamb (the next brain child of Jason Lambert) has both an indoor and outdoor area. The inside seems a tad boring, but considering they've been open just over a month, I imagine we'll see fun things emerge. We sat outside yesterday (Tuesday, 6:30-ish) 'cause it was a gorgeous day and the lake was still visible dressed in sunset colors. If you've never been there, the outside is a basically courtyard with a large awning. There's tropical foliage at your back when sitting at the bar...which is where we sat! Brilliantly, the view cannot be blocked by cars, as there's a bike rack in front. They have a full bar and a great bartender (Lindsey) After perusing their specialty drinks menu, I opted for a Melissa (Jack, sweet vermouth, spiced peaches). Normally served as a martini, I had it on the rocks...yum! Diving for spiced peaches was delightful ;) They have a limited food menu which we were told will be expanding soon; currently dips, quesadillas and sandwiches, three of each. Didn't have anything but all smelled delicious. They have a few TVs around showing whatever, so I got to play silent Jeopardy, yay for me :) I believe they have entertainment planned, just not sure when or what type. Facebook will shed some light on that, I'm sure. This place has awesome potential; the location is central to almost everything, the drinks are great, the convenience of a salon upstairs (ask for Shannon), and the chill atmosphere of the place will reel us back in...and next time we'll bring friends! Just come after 4PM
