Tenders is awesome local fast food place with a lot of character and great service. They have a bunch of sauces to try and many sides. I will be going back to try more of the sauces. The best place to relate it to is Zaxby's (which I love) so I will. I would say the Chicken tenders at Tenders is much better than Zaxby's. More tender and juicy than Zaxby's. I only tried there "Tender Sauce" which was not even close to Zaxby's Sauce but Tenders has a lot of other types of sauce that i'm very excited to try. Finally, tenders has much more options to try from with many really good deserts and other options (all being different chicken types). GO TO TENDERS! it is great.

This competes with Huey Magoo's as top Chicken Tender Joint of UCF, prestigious title for reals. The food was delicious and enjoyed the fried candy dessert options. FRIED CANDY! Nothing like eating and watching a feed of people failing epically on the Hot Wings Challenge...silly humans.

Very similar to Zaxby's but larger portions and better priced! Chicken tenders are perfectly cooked and big with some awesome sauce choices. Their current Tuesday deal can't be beat where you get chicken tenders, 2 sides (cole slaw, hush puppies, fries, etc), bread and a drink for $6! Restaurant seems to be family owned and run with very attentive and friendly service. They dabble in other fried things as well including shrimp, wings and desert..but really the tenders are the star here! The only bad part is their restroom.. it was perfectly clean but *really* scary looking as in prison restroom scary. Worth poking your head in for amusement if you happen to be there.

It was decent. I have had better in the area buffalo wings in the area. The problem is that there is a certain spice to everything, which I was not expecting. I would go back if I was in the shopping center or craving fried dessert!

Excellent service, fresh food, not a long wait, and cheap priced..shocked these type of restaurants still exist.

Went on Tuesday for their 5-piece meal special. For $6.50 you get 5 tenders (fried or grilled), two sides, a piece of garlic bread and a drink. It is A LOT of food. I ended up getting an extra sauce as my side because I don't think I could have eaten everything otherwise. The fried tenders I got were really good with honey mustard and chipotle bbq sauce.

The food here is so yummy! Their sauce is amazing. The restaurant is spotless and the staff is so friendly.

I thought Tenders was pretty damn good for a simple homestyle fast-food hybrid. The chicken is of good quality, and can be prepared in a number of ways, including Caribbean-style jerk chicken and the like. There's also plenty of different sauces to choose from. The prices are better than average, but pretty good when you consider that your meal is cooked only when you order it. The only complaints (nothing serious,) is that the chicken is a little on the greasy side no matter how you take it, and the garlic bread seems to be your standard frozen variety garlic bread. So, it's not the healthiest place around, but it's still pretty good!

Amazing food! Can't wait to get my next Roti

Very slow service, bland food, less than impressive display of what they give you. Will not be returning. Spend your money at Huey Magoos or Zaxbys.

A must go for the chicken lovers :) They have a pretty deal on Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday deal has 5 chicken pieces with two sides and a drink, where as Thursday one has 3 chicken pieces with one side and a drink. Food is very delicious over here. Dont forget to try the Tenders Sauce if you are going for Tuesday or Thursday deal. Chicken is very cooked and tastes good. Try their coleslaw which is one their side. I have tried TriniRoti also. It is pretty good with Curry taste. ;) I would give 5 stars as I dint find any negative points over here. Forget to mention they have a wing competition where the guy/girl has to complete 25 hot wings in 5 min i guess. If you win the competition you will get a t shirt :) Anyway its good for the price. Go Chicken Lovers

Tasty tenders and sauces, yummy sides. I love this place. I usually do take out. The tenders sauce is amazing and the mashed potatoes are awesome. I dont get the wings because I don't like the bones and stuff, so I just stick to tenders. Great place, never disappoints me!! Also it's halal.

I can go to Tenders any day for lunch if I'm ever around the UCF area. The customer service is really nice and the food is pluckin good. For $5.27, I got the 2 pc tender basket with fries and garlic bread. The chicken was really steaming hot, crispy, moist, and went well with the "tender's" sauce. Garlic bread and fries were also good. I just wished they had gravy as one of their sauces.

I've been here a couple of times as it's so close to work, and I have to say that ever since they've gotten new management; tenders is a lot better now than when it first opened. What really sets them apart from the other chicken tender places like Magoo's is the variety that they have. They have this fried fish sandwich with the aoli with the coconut roll and it arrives hot and Delicious.. OMG.. there are just no words; seriously. It's like a taste of the Caribbean right here in Orlando. Very well done. I'm also really impressed with the fact that they have roti on the menu, and while I haven't tried it yet; one of my friends says he loves it. And of course, this wouldn't be much of a review if I left out the deep fried goodies. Savory things like fried pickles and fried mac n cheese all the way to the sweets like deep fried candy bars, Twinkies, cookie dough; oh my!! I have tried the cookie dough. The powdered sugar gave it that extra layer of "Oh my god, I think I'm having a heart attack" goodness. Balance it out with a salad and then you can convince yourself that you didn't eat THAT badly. However, they have grilled items so if you wanted to steer clear of artery clogging goodness, you very well could. I highly recommend this place, very good in price, quality, and taste.

Never again, horrible customer service.. I have never wrote a bad review on any social media but this is well worth it being my first. The cashier was completely rude, cutting me off while I was ordering and asking several times "is that it?" Even when I had just said no. Not only that, she then got my order wrong after I repeated that I wanted my order grilled. Everyone makes mistakes so I wouldn't have cared too much except that she was rude and the food took 30 minutes to come out. I work in a fine dining restaurant and our dishes come out faster than the fried slump I ate here. Anyway, I had my order sent back when it came out wrong and it took another 20 minutes to get my grilled chicken sandwich that I originally ordered. By this time my entire family was done eating, except my 5 year old who thought the chicken tenders were gross. At the end of the day, the customer service was awful, the food was overly sauced and salted to cover up a lack of taste and I left feeling very annoyed. I will not be returning to give this place a second chance...

Absolutely love their tenders here! If I had to give a piece of advice..NEVER attempt their wing challenge. It's deadly, like seriously. My friend tried it thinking 10 wings in 5 mins was no big deal. But when it actually came out, the wings weren't regular sized wings....each wing was a big as a KFC drumstick and wing drenched in a crazy fire sauce with ghost chilis and a bunch of other peppers the chef could find in the back. Just touching the wing burnt my finger. But other then that, I freaking love their food and meals! Especially their popcorn chicken! So delicious!

  • Chris P.

The fried chicken tenders here are so addictive! They taste amazingly "tender"...sorry for the pun. The sides are to die for...everyone needs to try the sweet potato fries, jalapeño corn nuggets and fried Mac n cheese. Writing this review is making me crave it more. The food is made to order but you can call ahead for pick up. They have great deals on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The only complaint I have is that this place does not open on Sundays so when I want tenders I have to wait till the next day but it makes it taste even better because I have to wait...I guess since they make such great food, the chefs are allowed 1 day off ;). Their doubles are also quite tasty as is the roti but my favorites are their amazing sides and the secret tenders sauce!

With a simple name like Tenders, you can expect what's about to come. CHICKEN TENDERS. Big, chunky, fried (or grilled) chicken tenders, slightly spiced and ready to eat. Located right across the street from UCF on Alafaya Trail behind the BP gas station, Tenders is a small, sparsely decorated joint where the chicken is where its at. For around $5.00, my friend and I shared a 5 piece chicken tender meal which came with a choice of two sides. We chose the hush puppies and to balance it out on the healthy side: some cole slaw. All in all the chicken tenders were decent, and actually better than your average chicken tenders so I appreciate that. I would definitely come back to try some more, especially if I am in the mood for some chicken tenders :D tastychomps.blogspot.com…

The kids were looking for yogurt and I wanted food, so I ended up at Tenders out of convenience. WoW! Not what I expected by any means. The establishment is new and very clean, along with a easy to read simplified menu. I ordered the 8 Piece Grilled Chicken Tender meal to go for the kids to share, and choose the fried macaroni, french fries and Onion Rings as sides. With the meal we had a choice of sauces as well. The service was very friendly and pleasant along with the time it took to receive the food. When we arrived home with the food I decided to sample it for a quick taste, and it completely surprised my taste buds. First I started with the large onion rings which contained REAL onions! Next was the Fried Macaroni and Blissful Seasoned Chicken. All unbelievably good, and so much so that I will now have to make a return to get my own plate of heaven.

Great tenders and fried pickles. The real story here is the service. I placed a to go order for some tenders then saw the fried pickles and placed an additional order for those plus some fries. When I got to my destination I was saddened to see that the fried pickles and fries hadn't been included in the order I was given. I called the location to notify them that I would pick them up on my way back home in a couple hours. They called me back in a few minutes and said they would deliver them to where I was. Absolutely amazing, in my recent memory I can't recall that kind of service. Fantastic, whenever I'm in the Oviedo area, I'll be stopping by!

I absolutely love the tenders at this joint! Tender, juicy, tasty - it's the best! I made the mistake of asking for coleslaw, it is dry and has a weird taste, so intead I ask for an extra tender. The Tenders sauce is awesome. The only thing I notice is that sometimes the workers look at me funny but hey I'm not there to do anything wrong, just to get full!

AMAZING chicken curry rotor and sandwiches! The coco bread really goes nicely with bbq sandwiches! So yummy!

This is the ultimate munchies joint. The fried tenders are delicious. For dessert I recommend the fried cookie dough, pb&j or twinkies. The only problem is it's set back in the shopping center so its hard to notice. If my brother wouldn't have recommended it to me I would never have known about it.

  • Ms Fabulous Jay R.

I ordered chicken tenders, garlic bread, cole slaw and a fried twinkie....The tenders werent crispy. The bread was good. Coleslaw was a bit dried...the twinkie reminded me of something you would get at a carnival...it smelled sooo good and was tasty..But I couldnt help but to think...this is screaming " NOT HEALTHY" lol. Overall good lunch option, if you want something quick but not so fast-foodish.

Delicious and fresh chicken creations that we were very suprised by. One of the most unique choices around UCF for sure. The bread on the sandwiches is amazing! Try the Jerk Chicken with the Jerk Fries - it's outstanding. Cashier was super friendly and nice. He let us know about the menu options and how they are prepared. You can also tell its a family run place, which is great!

Fried chicken is a staple of my diet and this is the last of many I have tried that specialize in chicken tenders. I would have to say I had hoped for more from Tenders. The choices of different ways they can present chicken tenders, sauces, and additional dessert choices make me give them 3 stars, but the quality of the chicken brought them down from a higher potential rating. The chicken was good enough, but I personally like Huey Magoo's the most, followed by Zaxby's. I will have to try them again to make sure I just didn't get a below average batch, but they were not very flavorful or "tender" as the name should suggest. Their saving grace is the option of adding decadence on top of an already terribly unhealthy meal. This comes in the form of a deep fried dessert of your choice. I am a huge fan of deep fried candy bars and cookie dough, but I tried the deep fried twix because I have never seen that offered before. I was happy with my choice. I will say that teh high price is well worth it because they give you a dessert that could be split among two or three people. I could only eat half of it, but was very surprised at how well they microwaved a few days later. They still turned out greasy, hot, and almost crispy after being reheated. Overall I say it is pretty decent. Nice college atmosphere, good food choices, and unique dessert choices. I just wished the chicken blew my mind and I would be coming back weekly.

"Oh, so they make chicken tenders?" "What am i, eight years old?! I want a MAN MEAL!" "Try one" "Wow, i feel like i'm eight again! These things are amazing!" Probably some of the best tenders i've ever had. And when i found out they have ROTI (trinidad chicken curry with "pita" like bread) i was sold. The roti is awesome too, even after reheating hours later because i was full of delicious Tenders. Other carribean style food also available! If you want chicken done right, get it done Tenders! (trademark slogan pending approval.)

The food was average at best the staff was rude apparently they don't take cash if they do you can have anything more than a 20 all in all it was a very unpleasant experience. Clearly there geared towards the college in terms of patrons and while there were a lot of people there it just didn't seem worth the hassle. There are plenty of other really good chicken places around here. I would try one of them first. Both the chicken and the hush puppies were lacking flavor and seasoning we're both soggy not very good.

Curry chicken and potato roti is to die for! Be sure to ask for the homemade hot pepper sauce...

I've been going to Tenders for a few years now, the quality of the chicken is very good and prefer to get them grilled. However, fried tenders are still excellent and probably the most popular choice among customers. The sauce options are pretty good as well, and I only wish they were bigger as this location can get packed during busy hours.

  • Amanda F.

Tenders is an underrated champ. Their fried chicken is tender (hence the name ;)), seasoned perfectly, and their sides are amazing. They've got fried mac and cheese which may be one of my favorite sides to get. Tender's usually gets packed quickly but it's definitely worth it by all means.

Chicken Tenders, the quintessential american food! You know what else they have? Fried pickles! Its a great place to grab lunch around the UCF area. There are deals on Tuesdays ( 5 grilled /6 fried pieces - 7.99 deals) and Thursday (3 grilled /4 fried pieces - 5.99 deals) that make it a extra good deal. The tenders are well always tender and its mostly always seasoned well. I like the grilled version the best because its still very flavorful and have the smokey grilled flavor. The fried ones aren't bad and are super crispy but remains tender on the inside. The fries are okay but I totally go for the fried pickles. It is in a corn meal coating so its not thick and its your kosher dill type of pickles. For dessert, although I never tried them, they have fried EVERYTHING. Oreos. Candy Bars. FRIED. Crazy! I never had to courage to try cause I might have a heart attack after eating it. The restaurant is small and gets unbelievably busy starting 11:45 so make sure when you get there you have the patience to wait for a seat. People are understanding and most try to eat fast and not hog the place.

If you're in the mood specifically for a basket chicken tenders, there may not be much separating this place from that other chicken tenders place right down the street. Which isn't to say that this is a problem, because both of them do a great job of making grilled chicken tenders (I've never had the fried variety at either location). It's a good amount of food, too -- 5 tenders with garlic bread and two sides with a drink comes out to around $10, and you'll be stuffed. Most people would probably be fine with the slightly cheaper 3-tender meal. Every side I've had (including garlic bread, regular fries, "cajun" fries, and hush puppies) has been good. There are other things on the menu, though, setting it apart from that other place (I generally don't like to name competitor names in my reviews), and while I haven't tried anything else yet, I'm definitely interested in going back to do so.

Maybe I should stop reviewing these guys. Again four stars. We don't go here to often basically because the prices were a little on the high end. We went this week and they have a new digital menu that is neat. The price options have changed, so if you have more then one serving it takes a few minutes to compute the options. We found the prices better then the last visit. Yet again I did not try the steak sub again and stuck with the chicken. The chicken was good and strips are bigger then Huey's. The fries could have been cooked a minute longer. We liked the food, just takes a minute to decide what you want. they do have a bunch of different sides which is cool. Two things, the crowd is overly loud college students and not much room to stand and order. The second thing is the order taker was on the phone twice during our order, they need someone else answering the phone while shes taking orders up front. The chicken isn't as good as Huey's but is better then Publix and other chicken joints.

Not bad. I had the 5pc chicken tenders with fries and onion rings. The portions are really big and total came to $10.85 with a cola out of the mini fridge. Tenders were tasty, though a tad oily. I had the fried chicken. Maybe try grilled if you're looking for a healthier alternative. Service was pretty basic, the atmosphere somewhat like a Chipotle or Subway.

I love the good and never have a bad existence except for today. First of all I called at 9-9:15 no answer! I got there at 9:30 knowing they close at 10 but all the TVs were off so I asked if they were closed and the girl working said no we are not closed but order quick. Very rude but whatever. I asked if I could have some popcorn shrimp and she said they probably don't have any. I kept asking for food and she kept saying they may not have it until she finally asked the cook. There were customers after me and she turned them away until they called her out on closing time. She said they were closing early today? I was not happy with her customer service very very rude!

I was able to hit this place up for lunch with a couple of co-workers, and I was pleasantly surprised!! The name makes me think of your typical chicken place (tenders, popcorn, etc.), which the place has. BUT, the surprise here is the Roti, which are awesome!!! A pocket/wrap filled with curried chicken, potatoes, and other yummy ingredients. And the size of this Roti ... wow, it can easily feed two moderately hungry people ... or just eat it all and be ready for a nap in the afternoon!! The locale is a bit on the small side, but it is kept clean and when I went there, it was not super crowded, so it doesn't seem like it would fill up to the point on no seating.

AMAZING FOOD! These tenders are not just chicken tenders, they are so beautifully seasoned and full of flavor. I personally do not follow any dietary law, but the meat is also Halal which I think is really fantastic. The staff is friendly and they have really great deals, too. The portions are so large that I always end up with enough food for a second meal later (and the tenders sure make for great leftovers)!

This is the ultimate munchies joint. The fried tenders are delicious. For dessert I recommend the fried cookie dough, pb&j or twinkies. The only problem is it's set back in the shopping center so its hard to notice. If my brother wouldn't have recommended it to me I would never have known about it.
