Went to this restaurant during my vacation to orlando. The food is average. Its very pricey for that type of food. My wife and I like to try different restaurants but this one was a total surprise for us, we spent $145 for nothing. Very average food. When we went inside the restaurant there was only 4 family during this busy season, it should be a warning sign for us but we decided to try it and went back to our hotel dissapointed. Will not recomment it. We had good experience trying other restaurants in and around international drive, but this one is a great dissapointment.

Awesome place!! The food was amazing!!! Had the moussaka and chicken kabobs. Moussaka wasn't too saucy and the chicken was juicy and tender.

Had my dinner today at Taverna Yamas. The food was very bland and not so good. Ordered calamari as a starter, which was 11 dollars ..for about 10 tiny rings though with a lot of marinara which would've been enough for about 10 of those calamari orders. The spinach rice tasted like instant rice that you can get for a dollar in any grocery stores. The salad was kinda fresh ,but seasoned badly and a little bit too acid .I don't think that I'm gonna eat over there again.. sorry..

Food was mediocre and would have earned 3 stars, but service was brutally slow and affected our overall experience in a negative way. We entered through what seemed to be the main entrance, but we were greeted with an entirely empty dining hall. Fortunately, an employee happened to be in the room and guided us through the bar area, which had a couple of people in it and smelled musty, and then to the patio where we eventually opted to be seated. It was a gorgeous evening and their patio definitely has a good ambience. It seemed like everyone was outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. But overall, there weren't a whole lot of people at the restaurant. Yet, service was almost non-existent. We ordered appetizers: Dolmades and Hummus w/ Pita. We also ordered an entree to share: Gyros w/ Pita, Tzatziki, Tomatoes, Onions, Lemon Potatoes, and a Side Greek Salad. The appetizers arrived, and about 2 bites in, the entree arrived. So we were scrambling to try to enjoy all the food without the Gyros getting too cold. When it was time for dessert, we couldn't find our server for about 30 minutes. Finally, we got her and ordered some Baklava. It arrived soon after. Considering how quickly everything was served, we couldn't help but question the freshness of each of the items. They tasted OK, but definitely nowhere near good enough to beckon us to return. Especially since it was yet another ordeal trying to find our server so that we could pay and get out of there.

This space was previously occupied by a seafood restaurant and is HUUUGEE. Sadly, the number of customers at my time of visit, a Sunday evening, didn't seem to justify that large of a facility. My friend and I both questioned how they stay afloat as the expenses must be quite high! Our experience though, was fantastic! We visited a few months back during Bite 30, where many Orlando restaurant's featured fixed priced menus. The food was excellent. I started with the Greek Salad which was a very generous portion size with plentiful feta cheese, which is always a plus for me! For my entree, I had the Salmon which was well prepared and again, a large portion. It was accompanied by rice and veggies which were good as well. For dessert, I had the baklava, which was traditional and delicious. Service was great. Again, this may be because they are prepared for a larger crowd? There was a family dining nearby us that was back for their second night in a row, so clearly they enjoyed the restaurant as well! On certain nights they have a belly dancer as entertainment. There is also a large patio/bar area which did seem to have a bit more activity. I enjoyed my dining experience, but worry about the staying power of Taverna Yamas.

Stumbled upon this place while looking for a nice day bar with a patio. They weren't officially open for the day yet we were greeted and invited to sit on the beautiful porch for drinks and conversation. The pours were exceptional, exceeded only by the service. Amazing place! I highly recommend it especially the outside area. This review was already written when the owner himself brought us complimentary hummus which was incredible! Picture to come!

Strange dining experience. Ordered a Captain and Coke and the server brought a cup of captain and a separate cup of coke. Had 3 servers during the whole dinner which confused them. Food wasn't amazing and waiter came and sat by us to have a conversation. Odd......

So much promise and so little delivery. The restaurant is pleasant at first glance, but the worn lacquer makes the clean tables sticky. The moussaka was topped with parmesan cheese and the the sauce was actually a decent marinara, but this was moussaka not lasagne. There was a fair amount of meat and potato but the eggplant was scarce. The chicken souvlaki platter was acceptable, with chicken moist and flavorful. The potatoes tasted tangy and old (nothing like lemon) and the tzatziki tasted like plain yogurt. The salad on the platter was good. Why is Greek such a challenge in Orlando? Yamas is great for late night hooka and the bar, but it's not a great dinner destination.

What a great place for a male birthday...The food was excellent and the ambient perfect and festive. The belly dance was great, polite, respectful and did a great show. Too bad that many people don't know about this place because the service along with the food was excellent and if you get the coupon of TravelZoo you will save a lot of money. The hummus was free and it was to die for.

Ok, good place, with good service and food, but I'm confused. Is this place Greek as it was billed in the magazine I found it in? Is it middle eastern? I mean the hooka would say it is. Spanish? It's called a taverna is Spanish for tavern. Not sure what they want to be put whatever it is, it was good. I had the lamb shank ottoman style whatever it was. The meze was good, and a lot of food I was stuffed half way through my entree. The hooka was good too and well priced but the check was a little high. Oh and it was a bit slow considering how empty the place was on a Sunday afternoon.

We were a big group looking for a late meal. They were very accommodating and pleasant. We wanted to sit outside but the music was too loud so before we knew it the DJ turned down the music and a manager was setting up a fan so we wouldn't feel too hot. Every waiter was excellent and the food was authentic and Delicious. We were all very happy with the place. Highly recommend.

I was so impressed with this place we went two days in a row! Nicole was our server and she was EXCELLENT! The food was tasty and the prices were reasonable. It was our first experience with hookah too so that was fun. We tried the cinnamon roll and loved it! Alex was our bartender the first night and he was very prompt. the outdoor patio was perfect for the nice weather.

I am glad I went here on my last night in Orlando. I wanted to try something different the lamb chops were good and the zucchini strips were plentiful little pricey but sitting outside was real nice and the service was excellent

We had a wonderful time! Great food and drink. Not flawless but very very good. Atmosphere was very calm and not overly busy the whole time we were there. If I'm looking for Greek food I'll gladly go back!

I stopped by Taverna Yamas last Friday for its Grand Opening and was immediately greeted by staff at the front door, eagered to give me a tour of the venue. One of the waiters quickly welcomed me and gave me a complete tour of Taverna Yamas, ordered complimentary red wine and seated me at an outdoor table with double apple hookah. (Highly recommend the double apple) I also sampled the grilled chicken and beef appetizers which were juicy and well seasoned. Now this is how you win people over. =) The space is in prime location near many hotels and Disney/Orlando souvenir shops. I do not expect Taverna Yamas to have a difficult time competing as long as they continue to have friendly, accomadating staff and delicious food. Drink & hookah specials always help too. There's also fire and belly dance performances which I missed but I imagine were quite good. I will certainly return here during my next Orlando vacation and look forward to see how Taverna Yamas lights up at night with DJ and dance performances.

And to end the night we smoked some very smooth and delicious hookah! I would highly recommend this place if you want something a little but diffrent and fun! If I'm ever back in Orlando I will definitely come back! :)

We had a groupon to try this place since I love Greek food. Food was very good and portions were large. I had the lamb chops. Got 6 tasty treats. Make sure to let them know how you want them done. String beans were just like my Greek friend use to make. It was very quiet when we were there. We were told it gets hopping about 9 pm.

Unfortunately this was the worst dining experience we have ever had. We choose outside as there was no one inside and the AC was really cold. The outdoor seating is right on international parkway, so it is noisy. They had a rush of people (or so they told us) so the service was terrible. We had to go to the hostess to get a waiter after waiting 15 minutes. People that were seated after us ordered before us. I had the sea bass. It smelled and didn't have a great taste. My husband had the filet and ordered it medium rare. It was a big beautiful piece of meat. Unfortunately it was bloody red in the middle so we had to send it back. When it was returned it was well done. We had a couple next to us that chained smoked cigarettes thru the entire dinner. They had a small child who was perfectly content. But the parents could not stay seated and moved the furniture constantly, which was loud and irritating. We had a travel zoo certificate, which reduced the cost but it was not worth it.

My wife and I love Mediterranean Restaurants and this one is fantastic. They are more on the Turkish style of food but did everything great. They have an amazing belly-dancer on Friday and Saturday Evenings. The place is a hidden gem in that they have only been open a short while and it was not very busy, which won't last long. The staff was fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. We had the grape leaves, steak tips, kefte, hummus, and spanakopita. All of which were delicious. They are also smoker friendly in that they have a beautiful outdoor smoking area with tables, heaters and fans with a beautiful outdoor bar. I love a good hookah and they have an incredible selection of flavors both Al Fakher and Starbuzz. The hookah server made sure we had a pleasurable service. We will definitely be back soon. Also an awesome place for HAPPY HOUR which is available everyday from 3-6 with 2 for 1 drinks on everything and an awesome array of appetizers for 1/2 off. Great place to bring a group!!!!!!!!!!!

I just came back from a lunch at Taverna and I have never been more disappointed in a meal in my entire life. My boyfriend and I ordered cocktails and a spinach phyllo app (spanakopita), herb seasoned meatballs (keftedes) and what looks like a Mediterranean style lasagna (pastitsio). The drinks came out promptly and the appetizers shortly after. Both appetizers were warm on the outside and ice cold on the inside. The spanakopita (which was described as light and flaky) was at the warmest point, just luke warm and soggy. And the keftedes were clearly microwaved as well. We tried to cancel the entree, but it was already sent out as we searched for our waitress. The entree again was clearly reheated and bland. We forced our way through the meal and the waitress was kind enough to remove the apps. The hummus and pita bread is also subpar and most likely store bought. Very disappointed. Our waitress however, was very apologetic. One star for our server.

I'm sitting here completely satisfied with everything we have tried: Saganaki (my favorite), grilled asparagus, hubby had mousaka, and I had the adada kebab with grilled veggies and rice. Excellent. Great service and the manager came to the table to make sure everything was to our liking. We are waiting for our Turkish coffee and desert which I'm sure will be excellent. The tzaziki was one of the tastiest I've had and is a must with grilled meat. Try it....you will love it. We will be back.

I went to dinner here with a bunch of girlfriends about a month ago. Every girl who used a credit card had their information stolen. 4 girls now have had their credit cards compromised and we have narrowed it down to taverna yamas. They spent more than $1,000 on each card that they stole information from. DO NOT GO HERE.

The food was not bad however the credit card I used only there this month was compromised 2 days later. Coincidence?

I got no service. I was completely ignored by the servers. I wasn't offered water. And I was ignored when I left. Don't think I'll ever eat there again. Way to start a vacation.

I honestly did not care for this place. I had the moussaka which I did not like at all. I've had moussaka at several places and this has been the worst one I've tried. The bechamel sauce they put on top was horrible. My husband had the lamb shank and he enjoyed it very much. The biggest thing I was disappointed with though was their hookah prices. They were outrageous !! Almost 30 dollars for a hookah I couldn't believe it. Only good thing was the dj playing outside. There are a million other places to choose besides this one. I will not be coming back here.

Total win. There is a Living Social deal for this place, and it is a steal. Pre-Disney World day, my wife and I scouted out some Orlando-region Mediterranean food, and we found this gem. Sat on the patio, which was so nice, had music, and portrayed a relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter, Adnaudta, (had to save my receipt for that spelling) is a class act. Attentive and friendly, he took great care of us and was an expert hookah attendant. We had the Kleftiko, which was insanely good, and the Pastitsio, which was good, but slightly dry and lacking depth of flavor. The Living Social deal included 1 round of hookah, which was one of the better cheap varieties I have had. It was great to sit on the porch, drink wine, smoke hookah, and enjoy the calm before the violent storm that is Disney world. Thanks for running such a great restaurant!

We chose this place as a date night after finding a deal on living social. As with real estate: "location, location, location." It is located north of Sand Lake on I-Drive which is never usually a great spot. Nevertheless, we wanted to give it a shot. Service was so-so. We are quite friendly as we also used to work in the service industry so we tried to engage our server who didn't seem to really want to engage. Even though the place was empty on a Saturday night at 6:30. Food was ok. We chose the hummus as an appetizer and the artichoke chicken and filet kebabs for our entree. The chicken was a bit bland and tough and completely smothered in sauce. Filet was completely overcooked and in hindsight, the server never asked how we wanted it cooked. Hookah menu was very extensive. Lots of choices and we did enjoy that. Overall it was not a bad experience and we did enjoy ourselves. For the cost of the meal with the living social coupon, it was a good value. It was not a place I would go out of my way to return to though. Cedars, on Sand Lake Road, had much better food and the staff is much more attentive/passionate about their product.

Overpriced, ill-tasting, with a staff that will disappear for periods of time and still not bring back what you ordered. They must spend all their time making suicide vests or making love to goats in the back.

Even without the food the staff at Yammas would have earned a high rating. From the moment I entered the door they responded to every need in a very timely manner but without crowding or hovering. It is what I expect from an upscale establishment but I never find in tourist areas like Orlando. That was just the start. I have literally traveled the world several times over and was shocked to find some of the best Mediterranean food ever in Orlando. The custom hummus creation was spiced with paprika and served with a flat bread that was warm, soft and delicious. Then I ordered and it only improved. The grilled chicken souvlaki literally melted in my mouth and was wonderfully spiced, releasing a unique tangy flavor with hints of citrus. It was served with lemon roasted potatoes and a superb tomato salad which were excellent compliments to the entree. I have exhibited at dozens of conventions in Orlando and entertained clients here for years, in my view this is as good as it gets in any tourist town and certainly my best experience in this one. The perfect finish to the meal was a true Turkish coffee. I will be back and soon, next time I will be able to sample the extensive wine list as well.

Good food but the place was EMPTY! And it's a HUGE place so I hope they can get the folks in the door to keep it open. Go try it fast! The taziki was awesome and so was the hummus. I had a salad with avocado and spinach but it was missing something to make it more tasty. We also tried the hookah in cherry and it was a new experience. Why not? Tasted just like cherry.

Awesome! I don't often write reviews but they went far above and beyond. We wet with a party of 6 and ended up staying much longer than expected. The hookah was great as expected with a diverse flavor menu. The food was superb, everyone's meal was amazing. Overall the ambiance was the best part. A belly dancer came by and taught the girls some moves. The owner or a manager was very involved with our table and taught us some Turkish culture through a reading. It was clear they were very passionate. All in all it was a great experience.
