Found our new favorite Indian restaurant here in Orlando. The owner and staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. My wife and I enjoyed the Talak Dahl Makhani which was deliciously deeply spiced, and the Palak Paneer.....soooo good. If your around the area and your taste buds need to be awakened, look no more. Enjoy! I

Wish I could give less stars, but will have to go with 1. This has been my worst Indian food experience ever. We ordered a variety of different dishes, and they all tasted exactly the same. In fact, some were supposed to be "extra spicy", but were in fact sweet. They also barely included any meat at all for each of the dishes. It's just the same sweet masala on everything. Don't go here!

I didnt like indian much growing up, but after trying several dishes and my wife making it once a month i now like indian food and know what dishes i like. We ordered 3 entrees and they were the worst. We did not finish any of them, we paid and walked out. We just ended up eating mcdonalds on the way home. Everything tasted like canned Campbell's soup and raviolis. I highly recommend avoiding.

Don't go by name of the restaurant- it's very unlike in fact it's quite opposite to it. The food. The service and even the timings are all horribly wrong. They close at 11 pm and not midnight either. They have absolutely no sense of any customer service or basic etiquettes. Food sucks...

The food wasn't that good. We ordered bhindi and chapati, the bhindi was super oily and the chapati was dry.

Taj Mahal is a disgrace to Indian cuisine!!! They are absolutely horrible!! Please let me explain.... 1). They served us chicken that had gone bad (smelly). This is a big deal because anyone who chooses to serve chicken smelling that bad should not be in restaurant business!!! 2). All cutler use and dishes were filthy!! 3). The servers were wiping dirty tables wit their bare hands and serving food without washing their hands (yes, I saw it with my own two eyes)! 4. Overpriced Junk!!!! Please STAY AWAY and save your hard earned money!!!!!

I had the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala both dishes were good however they tasted a bit same but naan were great and good size portions. We are the only one who came in for a late dinner. No one there to greet us until we walked all the way in. I didn't like the decor needs a bit of work and really old songs were playing.

Horrible! Slow service, the appetizer was frozen solids and I mean SOLID. The main course was so spicy it was unbearable (he asked if I wanted it mild or spicy) my buddy's dish chicken was raw in the inside and had a couple hairs in it. The only dish that was good was the Naan. I never right yelp reviews but I had to save the future souls of this place. I talked to management and didn't seem to care that much. I could see the frustration in everyone else's faces with the lack of service. I feel bad for the place. My last night in Orlando is ruined... #epicfail

    1. Florida health department should shut this place down for serving very bad (off) chicken. 2. If you want to waste a lot of your money then this is the place to come. 3. There were no clean tables, we were seated on a dirty table where I had to request for the table to be cleaned. However, the old man cleaned it with his hands. I then requested the table to be wiped. Yet he still couldn't manage to clean it. I should have left then as I was over it already. 4. The cutlery, glasses and plates were filthy. 5. I was shocked with the prices on the menu, but was hoping the good would be phenomenal. 6. The was phenomenally the worst Indian food I have ever had. 7. PLEASE SAVE YOU MONEY AND HEALTH!!! PS. I hope the owner reads this :-)

This is a restaurant that you can definitely give a miss - Pros - great location, open until midnight - can't think of anything else Cons - small portions considering the high price - food poorly made. Dishes weren't cooked as they should be. Dishes not as advertised. Daal wasn't like any daal you have had and salad was bad too - very poor service. I didn't even get water for a while despite asking twice. They forgot to serve us for a while. Since they charge 15% gratuity by default, I suppose they don't have any incentive to serve well but I don't blame the waiters. The poor waiters looked very tired and way overworked to care. All in all, not worth trying. There are much better restaurants nearby.

I wish I could give this place negative stars. First off the waiter was non existent and the place smells like a locker room. We ordered food and had to wait two hours to get it. We found out why later when we saw the cook chasing some rat out of the kitchen. Way too expensive. We saw the owner call the cops on someone because they complained on the quality of the food. Can you believe it ? Avoid like the flu

We stopped for a very late lunch right after the restaurant opened so it wasn't busy. The decor was nice and service was friendly. That's about the best I can say -- umm we'll -- okay -- the naan and Mango Lassi was okay. We ordered the Chicken Tiki Masala and Chicken Korma neither of which really had much flavor. Frankly, for the price of each they were not even close to the size and flavor I was expecting.

When you walk in, the smell is so inviting. Service was slow but that gave us time to chat and enjoy atmosphere. Owner would come and chat with us. When food arrived, it was nothing short of amazing! We found our favorite Indian restaurant in Orlando! Highly recommend!

Don't go!!! 1 they don't even have regular menu, all they have are those paper menu for people to take away or as a flyer. 2 service is horrible. They are very slow, I promise you that the wait time you have there will be much longer than waiting for a popular ride in universal studio or Amy theme parks. They will bring your drink just shortly after 10 mins or so 3 food is terrible. Take long time to cook, but they are not even hot! 4 price is ridiculous compared to other Asian restaurant, especially when it us not tasty Don't go!! Better throw money in trash bin.

We came to the restaurant and they were not very busy. We ordered Butter Chicken and Chicken Madras for what our server had suggested. I've had Indian food before around the same area and this was not the best but it was ok with a higher price. The atmosphere felt like a diner and was missing some culture or nice ambience to set the mood for a nice sophisticated dinner. Our waiter was very professional and informative but when it came to the end when we wanted to use our Restaurant.com coupon they informed us they do not honor it and they would not even give any help or form of discount and just referred us back to the website. I feel that the owners did not take ownership of the issue or try to resolve it themselves instead of passing the customers over. If we are back in the area and are craving Indian Cuisine this place would not be our first choice.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE ! The food is really expensive and not worth any of your penny. We waited 45 minute for food and then decided to leave the place when they finally bring the food which wasn't cooked all the way. They bring out the Entree and after 10 minutes serve us with Naan. They silverware wasn't clean at all. Everything is super overpriced. The WORST customer service. The waiter was so rude that i had to tell him not to serve us. And they added gratuity automatically to the bill so it's not upto customer to tip or not. So here is the deal with this place: WORST Customer Service, OVER EXPENSIVE Food, WORST Food. If none of this is right there is no reason to go this restaurant. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, TIME and HUNGER on this Place. Me and My Family HATED IT !

First off the place smell AMAZING. The. Staff is friendly and extremely helpful. The food is crazy good plus the garlic nom just makes your day better. I'm glad I tried this pace out and didn't listen to whiny reviews.

Horrible and ridiculously expensive food.....avoid this place at all cost. Probably one of my worst Indian cuisine experience in US. It seems the philosophy of this place is to fleece unsuspecting tourists. To begin with...mandatory gratuity for a family of 4!! that's ridiculous....shows how much confidence this restaurant has on their food. The portions were very small....chicken tikka was very rigid and had the hint of being micro-waved and not prepared fresh. Onions used in it seems to have been in the fridge for a long time and was not crisp at all. Our mutton curry seems to have come form a can of tomato soup and reheated. The utensils were not cleaned properly and besides us there was only one other customer at another table for a major portion of a Friday evening (August second week when the place is brimming with tourists before the end of school holidays)!!

Alright, I see a lot of negative reviews on this place and that's kind of sad. I was on vacation in Orlando and we were sick of the other crappy restaurants around. We saw Taj Mahal and thought alright Indian sounds just about right. Admittedly, service was a little slow with the volume the restaurant was having, but the owner was very nice. He came out and chatted us up so I give him some points for schmoozing with the customers. What I like was the price. For our meal we spent like thirty bucks. If you had seen international drive, you would appreciate this. My friend and I got a couple of kingfishers, which came in a large pint bottle, and some naan with ground beef in it for starters. The naan was good and the beef was flavorful. For dinner we had the lamb madras on jasmine rice. I love spicy food, like, Indian spicy, not oh be nice to the white guy spicy, and the lamb definitely made me sweat a little. Plus it came with this red chili sauce that provided an extra kick. I love lamb, I like the gamy flavor, and this was delicious. So, yeah there were some negatives, but I can wait when I have good food coming and a huge beer to tide me over.

While visiting Orlando, we were craving some indian food. All I can say is, their food was amazing! Had it two nights in a row. Great customer service too! Their chicken curry is great!

I wish there was an option to give a negative rating because this place was one of the worst eating joint I have ever been to. First off , there was just one guy serving entire restaurant , secondly he didn't know a thing about Indian food or even wines and liquor they serve at the restaurant. We should have got the hint looking at the empty restaurant on a saturday night, Anyhoo! We walked and were seated immediately but we kept waiting forever to discuss the menu or place an order. We ordered a different kind of naan bread but when it got on to our table it was instead a fried parantha and waiter had no clue what it was called anyways being a French guy and an untrained staff. Worst part we got out naan breads first and had to wait for a really long time to get the curries. In the end I only cursed myself thinking I should have read the reviews before dragging myself and my family into the restaurant only because it was closer to our hotel. PLEASE AVOID NO MATTER HOW HUNGRY YOU ARE ...

Their Mango Lassi is amazing, the atmosphere very beautiful. Relaxed. The owner was super friendly and engaging. If spicy is not your thing, beware. Stay safe and ask for very mild, because I asked for medium , I do not remember what the dish was but it was lamb and it was delicious, but even for me it was a bit spicy. I only went once, but I travel to Orlando for business every year and am definitely going to come back.

This establishment is a total embarrassment. It took 75 minutes to be served. They did not even offer us complementary papadums or any other appetizers. Other diners walked out too tired to wait The taste was mediocre. This is a front for some other activity. This can't be a restaurant For goodness sake put this place out of its misery It's an insult to all Indian cuisine

Honestly, if you're not from South Asia, avoid this place. Walked in, got seated, waited...and waited...and waited...and waited...and noticed that everyone was getting waited on except us--the only two white people in the place. So, we got up and walked out. They made it pretty obvious that we were not welcome there.

I eat at many Indian restaurants as I travel, so I've experienced it all. We arrived at this restaurant, and I knew it was a bad sign that it was a Saturday night and only one other table was full. There was an older Indian gentleman who greeted us, who appeared to be the owner. After that, we only dealt with a very young waiter who was trying hard to make up for the fact that there was so little organization. We ordered an appetizer that was $8 and turned out to be just a few small pieces of chicken. It had very little flavor, and the chutney tasted like watered down ketchup. Our food finally arrived, and I have to say it was the least flavorful Indian food I've ever tasted. In fact, I've had chicken tikka masala and chicken makhani many times, and they tasted terrible. I've never had these dishes taste this way. Now I understand that some restaurants may prepare food differently, so I don't mind something new, but it was just bad. It all seemed very watered down. A few funny things: 1. The place charges for papadums. It's strange, I've never seen an Indian place charge for those. 2. We ordered a Mango Laasi, and it took several times of asking the waiter before he finally admitted that they hadn't made it, and finally brought it. Honestly, I feel very bad for the waiter. If it wasn't for the mandatory service charge / tip, I bet this kid wouldn't make a penny working at this place. I'm surprised he puts up with it. I'd leave. That's another thing, mandatory tips for a table of three? Absurd. Skip it. I don't care what you read from others, I'm giving you the real deal honest review here. You'll thank me later.

Waaaaaaay overpriced. Never coming here again. Took almost an hour to get the food, portion sizes were incredibly small, and the food was very average anyway. Also, it took almost half an hour to get water.

There are really a lot of negative comments for this Indian restaurant, but all I want to say is: give it a chance! The naan was really good, fluffy and flavorful. We ordered the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Can't go wrong with those--authentic and tastes great. The price was however on the expensive side for the portion size. Entrees were $18-$21 and are not very big. Service was quick too.

Had lunch buffet, definitely a couple of the dishes are good, there were not many different items. But the server is terrible. Big thumbs down. There needs big improvement overall in everything. Price is not bad. P

The palak paneer was very tasty, the naan fresh and the service prompt and friendly -- though I was there on a slow night.

My husband and I decided to give this new restaurant a try yesterday and found it easily in a strip mall on International Drive (just south of Sandlake Rd). Overall, the food was very good. I ordered the lamb biryani which was absolutely delicious and very colorful - fluffy yellow rice with red and orange flecks. My husband's lamb vindaloo was also good but not as spicy hot as he wanted it. (He ordered "Indian Hot" but evidently the kitchen staff didn't think he could handle the heat!) The staff and the owner Perry were very attentive and friendly. However, do be careful when ordering appetizers here. We were shocked at the final total on our bill despite us getting a lunch discount. When my husband and I initially came in and sat down, the owner asked us if we wanted papadams. These are usually free at most of the other Indian restaurants we frequent so we said "yes." It turned out they were $4.50. Then when we ordered our appetizers, I asked for the onion bhajis. The owner asked if we wanted two. Thinking that they were the usual large fritters, I said yes. When the bhajees came, they were two plates of about twelve each. I ended up bringing half of mine home. Given that there were only two of us at the table, I was suprised that we were asked if we wanted two orders in the first place. Again, the food here is great and definitely worth a try. Just be extremely vigilant when ordering.

Writing this as i am waiting for a simple order for the past 40 mins, simple order of naan an malai kofta, have never waited this long but now i am too invested to leave, ok food here, they gave me take out instead so will get out of here asap, again i am a seasoned indian restaurant visitor and would strongly recommend against visiting this restaurant, will comment on food quality later... food was only okay and thus overall upgraded to 2 stars

Ate here on a trip to Orlando. Food was good -- some very good dishes (aloo gobi) others just average (chicken tikka). Portion sizes however were on the small side, while prices were on the high side. Four small chicken chunks (think nuggets) on an $18 entree? Not a good value Would not go again.

Very amazing meal! I recommend the imported Indian beer and their medium spiced curry chicken! The meal comes with a nice small side salad and some tastey sauces.

When we arrived at restaurant on a Saturday night, there was no one to greet at the door. Only one other table had 2 guests. This was the first bad sign. We actually sat at our table for several minutes talking and had to go to the back to request a waiter. Before that, we joked we should call their delivery number and ask if they deliver to their restaurant. 2nd bad sign. The waiter, a teenager, approached our table in a British accent. We asked why he was talking in a British accent because it seemed fake, but to be nice we asked if he was from UK or something. Instead of a simple answer, we got this strange long explanation about his family are language chameleons and that he prefers to speak in his current accent. He also insulted us for talking in "normal American accents." It was weird, but I could have lived with that in and of itself...bad sign?...more later... The menu shows some high prices, a little more than we we are accustomed to. We assumed this was due to the location. We eat a lot of Pakistani & Indian cuisine and ordered the samosa appetizer, a lamb course, naan, rice pudding, and chai. The food itself was average. The samosa came out without chutney so we had to ask for it. The samosa was not bad. The chutney wasn't great but it was wet... The lamb was decent. The portion was fair sized. The rice was small, but we managed. They did give us a 2nd bowl of rice. The naan was half the size of what we expect from most restaurants. We had to order a 2nd. Rice pudding was not great, the rice was undercooked a bit. The chai was also not to our liking, but we understand chai preferences vary. The owner thought they had the best chai around. We'll assume this was a taste difference. Now, it was after we had already ordered that we found the bit at the very back and bottom of their menu which states they add a 15% gratuity automatically to all bills. Our initial reaction was that this is not cool, nor customary, but reasoned that we normally always give about that much anyway, so why worry about it...another bad sign? OK, so now we've eaten, and owner asks if we like it. We are polite. At this point, not the worst experience I've ever had right?...Wrong....owner leaves. Teenage waiter with fake British accent gives us the bill and starts to push us hard for extra tip. He states the owner doesn't split the auto-gratuity/service charge with anyone. I ask the waiter what he gets paid. He says $6.50/hr. I ask what the minimum wage is. He claims $7.50/hr. He reiterates that he doesn't get the gratuity. We talk about with him a bit and we get a bit annoyed for being put in this type of position. I took my daughter to the bathroom to wash hands and think on it. I come back and say that we feel that his work situation is between him and the boss. Still in the end he gets an additional $4 out of us in cash. As we are leaving, the owner is walking back in. How convenient...I confront the owner. Initially he claims he does split tips. So I ask him the same questions I asked the waiter and discuss. By the end of it, he is not longer claiming he splits the tips and acknowledges in not so many words by saying he doesn't know about the way other restaurants do it and "he'll look into it." I realize he is full of it. Meanwhile now the waiter is trying to give us the money back outside that he scammed off of us and giving us some new lame story about he needs money for his rent. If the server was lying, I hope he got fired after this. Either way he needs to learn not to involve customers in his own issues. If the owner was lying, I hope his business fails. That is no way to treat your employee. That is no position to put customers in. We plan to charge back the "service fee." The owner and waiter did not advise us up front about those charges. This is not a customary fee for small parties.

Had a restaurant.com gift certificate. Was $4 short and they decided to charge us a $4 misc fee instead of coming to our table and and letting us know. They didnt even inform us about it and ask if we would like to order something to meet the total amount of the gift certificate. The owner is the one who adds up the bill, he doesn't even trust his own wait staff to do it. The owner did not even apologize for his mistake, he was explaining basic arithmetic to us which wasnt even the problem! Of course he messed up the bill, he wasnt the one who took our order! I mean who here has been to a restaurant and seen a "misc" fee on their bill?! Come on man. In addition, the owner charged us an extra glass of wine we did not order and put the wrong kind of wine on the bill. We corrected him on the wine and he still put the wrong wine on the bill. Learn how to accept your faults Mr. Owner! Arrogant. As for the food...Food wasnt bad at all. Ordered chicken makhani (aka butter chicken, was not on menu but you can order it) taste was good but not great, it was sweet. Too sweet. I ordered it spicy, which it was spicy but just not too fond of the sweetness. I've eaten this dish at numerous Indian restaurants and never was it so dang sweet. Restaurant setting was subpar, unorganized with random tables and random decor...and hot as hell! Florida facilities need AC....Period!! Especially in August. Come on dude! Stingy on the AC is not cool. Anyway, will not be coming back to this place.
