5 stars for Alyssa's amazing service!! She was so friendly and knew the menu top to bottom. The food was good too (especially the 'zapps' for dessert!), but I had to knock off a star for inflated prices. I stayed at the Marriott World Center for the 2014 SoCRA Conference, and I felt trapped in resort hell. Overpriced restaurants were in abundance, and there was nothing within walking distance or a cheap cab ride. We ate at other restaurants around the resort, but Siro was by far my favorite and worth paying extra for. The food quality and service were unmatched by the other places we ate. Get the bread as a starter, and a half order of pasta should fill you up nicely! The pizza was very good as well. I stuck with water since it was $8 for a beer that is normally $4-5.

This restaurant is not meh. We loved the mussels. My daughter's cheese pizza was the best. My husband loved his pasta dish. I had the red snapper with turnip purée and it was Delish. We also enjoyed the meat & cheese boards with a flight of red wines. We were so happy to find this restaurant.

Three words...A..maze....ing!!! The food at Siro is hand crafted in loving detail. It really needs to be appreciated. It has been a long time since my brain has been stimulated so deliciously by my taste buds. And Laura, with her knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience so much better. Do not let this opportunity pass you by.

The Scene: Executive Chef Anthony Burdo presents a crafted menu featuring dishes inspired by local fare, as well as plates that boast vibrant flavors, utilize local in-season ingredients and maintain Siro's philosophy: from farm-to-fork, including but not limited to artisan cured meats and cheeses, small plates and fresh market vegetables. he Food: We noshed on Antipasti (salumi & cheese) boards cured domestically and sipped on handcrafted Italian classics from the Negroni, Aperol Spritz to the "The Artisan," Lemoncello Martini, & Aged Italia. Not particularly a cocktail drinker, the Aged Italia with Breckenridge bourbon, blood orange aged balsamic, blackberry syrup made me a convert. Well, did I mention Aged Balsamic? Special mention to Nduja, since the unexpected kick was a reminder of it's authentic roots. Artisanal pizzas, Crispy Baby Artichokes and my favorite Burdo's Famous Veal Meatballs. The decadent meatballs were lightly dressed with Chef Burdo's grandmother's Pomodoro recipe. Now that is how a tomato sauce should be: fresh, lightly fragrant, and flavorful. Oh, they were delightful!! The pizzas on the other hand were average at best. Even though fresh and good quality ingredients such as burrata, wild mushrooms etc. adorned the thin crusts, personally they reminded me more of a pie/pastry crust rather than the airy and thin crust topped with a vibrant tomato sauce signature of creditable Neapolitan pizzas. The sit down meal with emphasis on family style sharing consisted of Ripe Tomatoes, Golden Beets, Eggplant Caponata, Steak Carpaccio, Arboria Fritters, and Big Green Bowl Salad. Followed with Bucatini with Red Lead, Cheese Tortelini, and ending with Pork Belly, Local Daily Catch, Braised Pork Shank, Veal Saltimbocca, and food porn drool worthy Burger. Equally irresistible was the Eggplant Caponata, delicately sweet, savory, and creamy, complimented by a perfectly toasted in-house crostini. I'd return for just the caponta and a cocktail at Siro's good-looking bar, where the handcraft cocktails are similarly likable. The first courses were a Tender and ripe tomatoes, fresh ricotta, sweet golden beets were a fine illustration of the farm to fork philosophy Siro's proudly boasts. So many of the dishes at Siro are in the Italian spirit; but I took a double take to see a Burger on the menu. The basic description is no justice to the food porn orgasmic moment you are about to experience. Thick beef patty cooked to perfection (medium-rare) with house pickles, encased in OWC bake house bun; oh my! it was ridiculously good. It's amazing how a few strong ingredients can come together so seamlessly, as they did with the Bucatini with the Red Lead. A plate of thick spaghetti tossed with a light yet vibrant tomato sauce that gently coated each strand--ingredients of the highest quality, combined with balance and restraint. It's perhaps the simplest pasta on the menu yet it will have you swooning in utter delight and transport you to Sunday Supper in your grandmother's kitchen. Pure comfort food, flavors you end up remembering and craving when hungry a few days later. The Dessert menu showcases the standard Italian fare such as Tiramisu, Cannoli, Panna Cotta, Chocolate Cake, and Zeppole. And the winner is Zeppole, ultra-light, airy, piping hot made to order Italian styled donut holes. To add to the decadence they were served with a hazelnut-chocolate dipping sauce. It was a party in my mouth and I couldn't devour them quick enough. I had to restraint myself from ordering another bag. Yes, they were Ama-zing! Bottom Line: Executive Chef Burdo and Siro's mission is refreshingly simple: cook playful and artisanal Italian food that stays close to your heart and roots. And if they keep it up, I guarantee you the crowds will gather. Reasonable pricing in today's economy is well received;and a bonus if backed by exceptional cooking. Especially considering the location's proximity to 'Disney', having the option of ending your hectic roll-coaster ridden day with a 'family style' dinner, most importantly with food that tastes as good if not better than 'home' is a win-win in my personal opinion.

Food was good, not the best I've had, but good. I ordered sautéed spinach which was delicious. My salad was drenched on oil, was difficult to taste anything but oil. Service was horrible. We waited forever for our server, then once dinner was over, we waited forever for our coffee. They are not on the same page and had difficult keeping up. Restaurant wasn't even busy; no excuses.

I see this place has a lot of great reviews, I'm not sure where these people live but holy cow this place was so expensive for what you get. My husband and I ate here and after using flashlights to try to read the menus, I ordered the smalle r portion of agnolatti (apparently a fancy word for ravioli) and my husband got the burger. The agnolatti was different, had a walnut type sauce and beet and ricotta inside, although it was a bit oily. But I left there feeling TOTALLY ripped off. My plate had 4 ravioli on it. We're talking chef boyardee size, not the big ones. My husband's burger was small and nothing special, no fries. No bread before the meal. We drank water. So I'm talking one small burger and 4 ravioli. And the tab was $28!!!!! Geez, at least serve bread and olive oil before dinner like most Italian restaurants do. I'm okay with paying more for really good food but this was a bit much. Service was good.

I haven't felt this ripped off in a long time. Do not go here if you value your money. Everything is a la carte- and the portions are tiny! I spent $24 on swordfish and the cut I was served was smaller than my iPhone. Seriously. Go somewhere else.

I've dined here a few times and have always enjoyed the food. The servers have always been wonderful as well. The one thing I did not care for was the awkward experience I've had with one manager named Stephanie. She stops by looks at the table, asks how everything is and leaves. She makes no eye contact, no effort to engage in any conversation and seems as if she has someplace better to be. For someone who is in an industry where you are constantly dealing with customers, you would think she would have some kind of a personality. Not sure who did the hiring or promoting on this one but they screwed up. Having said that, the food is definitely good, the drinks are a bit over priced but I would still go back.

Valet park - it is free with a validation from your Siro meal. The limoncello sorbet and a chocolatier were both great last acts!

Let's start with the good. The food was average. We had gnudi and rancid grease-flavored artichoke hearts for starters. Chicken parm. and veal were again, OK. Nothing that made me say let's stop there again and we're in this hotel for 8 days. The service was indifferent to awful and we left a tip to reflect that. (Although being women I suspect the server preferred to believe the old wait-staff axiom 'women are bad tippers.') Waits for our server were long, and yes it was a busy night but she never offered a reason or apology for her absence and appeared to have only a handful of 3 to 4-tops. In fact, we had another server great us and take our drink orders before our "real" server showed up. (That first server showed up later to take dessert orders, when the "real" one went missing again, but as soon as "real" girl saw this she ran over and nearly shoved "firstie" away. The food was delivered promptly by yet another server so the kitchen seemed on the ball. IDK, It's a convention hotel. It's always busy. I've been on both sides of the table and know it can be done far better. And at those prices somethings got to be great or even v.v. good. And nothing was.

This is a late review but we ate at Siro on a Friday night a couple of weeks ago. The place was about 35% occupied which I thought was good for a Friday night at a resort/conference center hotel. I have to say Thursday night when we got there the restaurant was packed along with the hotel. Most seem to have checked out on Friday. Anyway, the atmosphere is nice, I think it could tend to be noisy when at or near full capacity. We started with the veal meatballs and mussels. Both were outstanding. I will say I was not a fan of the bread, while fresh and overall good quality it has a large amount of olive oil and seasoning on it that I was not a fan of personal. The rest of the table seemed to be ok with it since it was consumed. The dinner entrees were the special that night of Roasted Pork and a regular menu item of Fettuccini Carbonara and Ahi tuna. The tuna and the pasta were both excellent but the pork was average at best. I noticed other items at other tables that I wished I would have tried instead. Overall, it was a good night with great company. The food was good and we left satisfied. Given we really did not want to go driving around Orlando I was happy with the quality of the food and atmosphere and not having to leave the resort made it all the better. If I was a local would I drive to this location just for Siro? The jury is out. I would honestly say if there were out of town people staying in the area I would say I would offer to meet them at Siro but just as a regular spot just by ourselves I would most likely find another small local establishment. As always your dining adventure may be different.

The food was excellent and the service was outstanding!!! A little pricey but that is what you get in Orlando at a major hotel!!

Loved the food and the concept! Small plates, meant to be shared so you can try many things. I'm still dreaming about the meatballs! Our servers recommendations were helpful and she was very knowledgeable about the menu, preparation and ingredients.

It's worthy of a 3.5 review. Tapas style with some good option inc margarita pizza, meatballs and rock shrimp. The green eggs and ham pizza was ok and the focaccia bread was dripping in oil. Skip the fried artichokes and the mussels. Eek. Nice wine list in all price ranges.

    (3)
  • Marie R.

The beet salad was delicious (favorite dish of the night.) The tomato salad was also good. The rock shrimp was a bit fishy. The lemonade was good. Not too sweet. Best resturant in the Mariott.

On Saturday January 26, 2013, Orlando World Center Marriott opened their newest restaurant, Siro: Urban Italian Kitchen, which takes the place of their previous Italian restaurant Ristorante Tuscany. From artisan cured meats and cheeses, small plates ("Assadare" (shearable) style) and fresh market vegetables, dishes served on oversized wooden planks, thin-crust pizzas and house-made pastas to various meats and fish selections, Siro has made a strong emphasis on quality sourced food. This is immediately evident in the quality and the freshness of the vegetables and ingredients used in the dishes we tried this evening - everything was like it was picked today straight off a farm from the corn to the arugula in the salads.

Exceeded expectations! Their menu comes in three sections: 1. Small plates (more than Tapas and most appetizers). Most were between 8-12 bucks. We were told the idea was to provide an option to try different things. Great idea since a lot of it sounded very good. We had: Grilled artichoke (great!), mussels (great!) and pork belly (great!) 2. Regular entrees. We did not have any. 3. Pizza and Pasta. We had the peach and prosciutto pizza (great!). Nice thin crust and really delicious. Not knowing how rich the appetizers were we almost picked too much, could have skipped the pizza. So move slowly - pick a few appetizers and add as you go. The food was creative, and everything was excellent. Service: welcome at the reception desk was so-so, but the waiter we had was very nice. Plus I asked for craft beers and they gave me two tasting glasses for some of the beer I didn't know. Would go back in a heart beat!

Was a guest in the hotel. Was very excited about the fact they had a gluten-free menu. Initial impression was fine, but it went downhill from there. The server seemed annoyed to be associated with us. Managed to get two items wrong, and it was hardly busy. Must have caught her on a bad night. The food was decent and well prepared. The heirloom tomato salad was quite good. Overall, guess this is what you get from a hotel restaurant. Additionally, it is Orlando and since they have to cater to all the theme park visitors, it probably gets old. Given the price though, I expect more.

It was ok for a hotel restaurant. Stayed at the Marriott, and didn't want to venture off property for a quick dinner. All tables were full or reserved on a Wednesday night so I sat at the bar. I has a green salad and veal scallopini. With 2 drafts, the tab came to $65. Food was good, but not very filling. I only received 3 small pieces of veal. Service was ok, but 45 minutes after ordering, the individual sitting next to me, still hadn't received his salad. Now I remember why I try to avoid eating in hotel restaurants!

Quick carry out option...the Octopus salada nd Margarita salad where relaly well done. Will have to go back and have a sit down dinner there!

The mussels and Fettucinni Carbanara were excellent. I highly recommend them. The only negative was the $15 self parking fee since we not guests at the Marriott.

Stopped in here for dinner while staying at the Marriott Orlando World Center hotel. It was a bit early for dinner, so the place was not too crowded, but noise level is still moderate as it's open to the hotel lobby area. Food here is served tapas style, so portions are on the smaller side. For dinner, I went with the half order of Fettuccini Carbonara and some Focaccia bread with tiramusi for dessert, which is served in a slightly larger than usual shot glass. The half order of pasta was a bit smaller than I was thinking it would be, but in the end, it allowed me to have room for dessert. Overall, the meal was very good. With my dessert, I ordered coffee, which is french press only. In addition to the coffee, you also get chocolate and vanilla shavings, brown sugar, and little chocolate chips that you can add to your coffee. I've not seen this before, but absolutely loved it! Service was excellent and although prices are a bit on the high side, I would eat here again.

I have eaten many mussels, never one so precisely steamed and with an amazing sauce. All pasta handmade, and for my wife and daughters great vegetarian choices. We are usually very afraid of too sour red sauce and too cheesy white sauce but all made with great freshness that you could taste here. Atmosphere is great and we were served by a European on the second dinner there, our family really feel a personal connection to her. I would recommend eating here even if you don't stay in the resort.

PROS: I was able to make reservations via yelp, which was very convenient. The Food was AMAZING! My dish photo is attached. Most of my stars here are for the amazing atmosphere and the quality of the food. NOT on the service or interaction of the staff. CONS: Service was a bit under performed. On 3 different occasion I had to ask for a beverage refill. Food took a very long time to arrive, I get it...they where busy, however I don't mind waiting if it's communicated to the table and the food is worth it....with it was. No personalized service from our server, he was just more or less an order taker.

My bar experience at Siro was one of the best I've had. I'm a local, and I typically don't even consider visiting local hotel bars. The bar at Siro, however, is worth a long drive in I-4 traffic. I called ahead and talked to the manager, who reserved a high-top table in the bar area for our group. They take very good care of locals here, and we received excellent service. The staff kept bringing out samplers of appetizers and cocktails, which never appeared on our bill. The food, service, and cocktails were excellent. The quality and presentation of the drinks were on par with any craft-cocktail bar in Orlando. Custom cocktails set Siro apart. You can order from a menu, but you'll miss the full experience. The server asked each person a short list of questions, which included: what kinds of drinks and flavors do you like and dislike? Do you have any allergies? The bartender then brought a custom-crafted drink for each person and explained the construction of the cocktail. These bartenders are not just following recipes; they truly understand cocktails (watch the "Good Eats" episode about cocktails for a primer). It felt like every ingredient was special, and added for a specific reason. The drinks were not cheap (around $15) but they were an excellent value (you can easily pay $15 for a mediocre cocktail at a high-end nightclub).

  • Andrew K.

Food - GREAT...Service - BAD. Server was not attentive at all. He disappeared multiple times and the place was nearly empty. 45 minutes passed before drinks even hit the table. The manager that came over to our table at our request because of the service...she seemed to be absent as well. Didn't apologize, didn't seem like she even cared! For food that is so good...service needs to step up their game and they need some better leadership. Thanks to the other servers who helped out once they realized nothing was happening. On the other hand...GREAT FOOD! Carbonara was delicious! Overall - I'll give them another shot...we all have bad days.

Fabulous service. Such a sweet and upbeat manager and I almost want to give this place three stars for her. But their pasta was just awful. Bolognese and duck confit fettuccine are not worth the bite or price.

Knocking my initial 5 star to a 2 because of the lack of customer service I have experienced. We were celebrating a 30th birthday so I suggested this spot since we all love great food with a local focus. Now, when I say the experience was "pretty terrible" - I am being extremely nice. It's embarrassing too because I hyped this place up so much. We had a reservation for 9 at 8:30pm. We arrived and were seated immediately. Appreciated that. We received water and were told our server would be right over. Our server, Derrick, arrived about 15 minutes later. He took our drink order and was about to get our app order and then another table sitting next to us asked him a question and he left and disappeared for another 15 minutes. How nice of him. So, when we were seated for 30 minutes without drinks, I asked for some assistance from the host stand. She said she would check on our drinks and a few minutes later, the wine was there. We were still waiting on the cocktails we ordered and asked for bread. So when ****45**** minutes had past and it was now 9:15 and we still didn't have the cocktails or bread, I asked for the manager. That took about 10 minutes in an of itself. She arrived and had a very low voice and in summary she said she would check on everything and never apologized. Our drinks came immediately but it took another 15 to get the bread. When that came, we were able to order our appetizers. So, summary to this point: Arrive - 8:30pm 15 minutes to order drinks (first time we saw our server) - 8:45 pm 15 minutes to get more help - 9pm 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive 9:15 pm 15 minutes for bread to arrive (second time we saw our server) 9:30 pm Luckily our appetizers only took a bit to arrive and a bit after, our entrees. Luckily the bread was amazing. I went with the Tomato appetizer and it was overly bitter, I wasn't even able to finish it. For my entree I went with the Half Moon Mezzaluna: Ricotta, truffle mushrooms, peas, swiss chard and veggie broth. It was delicious. Of course, when it came time for the check, he messed up on portions (the pasta dishes could be half and the wine could come in different ounces) and also some items some people had. But, by this time, we expected that. I didn't get the name of the manager but I hope she was having an off night because she had no sense of authority or sincereness. I was actually embarrassed for her. We left with no apologies, except from two other servers that were helping deliver our food, and no option to let them redeem themselves. It was a sad, embarrassing showing Siro. I know you have better in you.

Wonderful surprise inside Marriott World Center. We got the heirloom tomato salad and veal meatballs as apples. The meatballs were among the best I ever had. The rigatoni bolognese was exceptional too. The kids meals were super as well. We look forward to coming back!

3rd time reviewing. just gets better & better. This time, it was because: Tim. Amazingly talented and personable bartender extraordinaire. Got a great rum lesson as I sipped (quickly) The Iron Trader. you won't find this drink at TGIF (I haven't been there in ages but I guarantee you it won't be there) *Berkshire Mountain Rum, Mandarin falernum, toasted almond, mauby, lemon, crushed ice. History lesson from Tim taught me about 2 ingredients I am sure were in my chemistry or Home Economics class...$14.. What else: my weakness...burrata...expertly prepared with heirloom tomatoes, olive oil, basil. Heaven, I tell you, heaven. Place was packed - locals as well as hotel guests. Bravo Siro !!! Bravo Tim!!!

The menu at Siro features dishes that are inspired by local fare, as well as plates that boast vibrant flavors and utilize local in season ingredients that help to maintain Siro's philosophy of "From Farm to Fork." The main entree courses are simple yet innovative and include everything from thin-crust pizzas and house-made pastas to various meats and fish selections. Siro also has a nice selection of family style dishes available that are served family style on over sized wooden planks. In addition to signature dishes, Siro also boasts an extensive drink menu, with bartenders that have mastered the "Garden to Glass" method of mixology. They specialize in preparing hand crafted Italian classics from the Negroni and Aperol Spritz to the "The Artisan," Lemoncello Martini complete with fresh squeezed juices and fragrant herbs. Of course no Italian restaurant is complete without a fine wine selection and Siro has a nice collection of true Italian tradition, selected wines that are served by the glass and quartino carafes -- as well as local craft beer selections. For the Magical Dining Month menu at Siro you have a choice of three different appetizers, three different entrees, and three different desert selections to choose from. You can mix and match any one selection of the three and create a unique dining experience. Although I made my own selection of items, I was able to sample all of the dishes offered..(perks of being a blogger) So lets get started... For my appetizer, I chose the Marinated Tomato Salad with fresh tomatoes, Burrata and sea salt. Burrata is a fresh Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream. I enjoyed the creaminess of the Burrata with the acidity of the fresh tomatoes. The next appetizer I sampled was the Frito Misto with fried Key West pink shrimp, oysters, grouper, and lemon-caper aioli. All Fried and all good. My favorite appetizer was the Grilled Quail with fennel sausage, pepperonata, and a vidalia onion puree. This was a very delicious quail, seasoned to perfection. For My entree I went with the Grilled Strip Steak served with a ragout of summer squashes topped with crispy crumbs. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, was tender and loaded with flavor. Another great entree was the Chicken Milanese with summer salad. The delicately battered and fried chicken pieces just melted in your mouth. The third entree offered was the Bucatini Al Frutti Di Mare with mussels, clams, shrimp, fennel sausage, and tomato-saffron brodo. Very tasty as well. For desert I opted for the Tiramisu. Although served in a non traditional fashion, the flavor of this tiramisu was about as authentic as I have had. All of the deserts offered were good, but when the Zeppoles arrived..it was chaos. A bag of deep fried balls of dough coated in sugar and cinnamon and a side of chocolate dipping sauce...Oh my..these were good!

Sat at the bar three nights in a row for dinner. The heirloom tomatoes are to die for along with the truffle fries. Had the margarita pizza and it was equally fabulous. Top notch setting and staff.

Limited menu but some different options. Started with veal meatballs which was really tasty. They were tender and sauce awesome. Also tried black pepper fettuccine which was also really good and even half order filling after meatballs. Service was pretty slow on a slow night but OK.

You know that first moment when your eyes meet those of your server...you're full of all of that hope and promise of this new, tender relationship...and then he says something so funny and unexpected and awesome that you just fall instantly in love? Well - that's the experience at Siro (and our awesome server, Brandon). Now let's get to the food - in one word: awesome! The warm, beautiful focaccia is superlative. I mean - it's AWESOME. Our favs: We noshed on the brussel sprouts (pancetta and we added roasted mushrooms), truffled fries, shishito peppers. The wine list is extensive, with a reserve list that could tempt a church mouse across the dance floor. Seriously - some pretty nice choices including an Amarone from my Top 10 list. One note: here, if you order an Americano coffee, it will have liquor in it. We ordered a couple after dinner, and realized after that warm, fuzzy feeling reached our toes that those babies had booze in them! Guess the Falanghina from earlier in the evening did it's job.

For a restaurant in a hotel this place really surprised us. The food was very good although a tad bit pricey. We had a small issue when we ordered a kids meal and asked them to substitute fettuccine for their penne. Apparently fettuccine only comes as an adult meal so we were a bit surprised when our $8 kids meal turned into a $27 adult meal ($23 plus the drinks are a la carte on adult meals so add another $4 on for a total of $27). We felt we should have been notified of a price change that was so significant. Additionally we were overcharged on a kids meal drink as it was supposed to be included in the kids meal. When we brought this to the attention of our server she agreed to fix it so we have her our credit card but when our credit card receipt came back she didn't take it off. Long story short pay attention to your bill at this place. Food was great but the issue we had and the Iack of attention to resolving it overshadowed what would have been a very nice meal.

Service was fantastic. We had a server that enthusiastically explained why Siro is different than your typical Italian restaurant. Ambiance is great- very dimly lit. We had the PLT pizza- proscuitto, pickled onions and arugula. SO good. I'm from NYC so I have VERY high standards for pizza and grew up on Staten Island so again, very high standards for italian meats. Will definitely re-order this if I dine here again. Also had the black pepper fettuccine. The duck was tasty but lacked a bit of flavor. Loved the brussel sprouts in the pasta. Parmesan broth was tasty, but overall the dish lacked salt. Would not reorder this pasta dish.

Our party of six moved from a hightop in the bar to a table in the dining room. They switched our server and things went to hell pretty quickly. First no one came up and it knowledged us. But the kicker is that food that was intended for another table was brought to our table. One of our guests actually had a fork full of food ready to go in her mouth and the server snatched the plate of food away from her and pull the fork out of her hand and brought the entrées to the correct table after they had been sitting on our table. I find this totally disgusting.

Siro was very good. Ate here twice actually. Our server, Nicole, was friendly and fun, and Josh behind the bar was too. He was pretty stingy with his pour but I don't think the decision is in his hands. The food was consistently good and the service was too.

Well this was a total and complete shocker. We are locals and got a room here for NYE, went down for a drink and maybe a snack with pretty low expectations and ended up being blown away by the quality of the craft cocktails, the food, and the friendly bar staff. I tried a couple different cocktails, both bourbon-based, both with the single large ice cube which I LOVE. One of the drinks I tried had a SMOKED ICE CUBE! That was a first for me and I was pretty damn excited, being as I get excited just for the large cubes, and this one had smoke inside it. We had pizza and a couple salads that were fresh and delicious and made with quality ingredients - Lake Meadow Naturals Golden Beets salad was absolutely amazing. Good sized side salad too, I was impressed. We will definitely be back, this is a hidden gem in Orlando.

I hate big hotel restaurants, but this place is different. Chef Spaulding came out to our table to discuss questions and options for our main course dish. In the end, he accommodated my request and combined items I really wanted into a piece of culinary artwork and delight. He delivered it himself and even came back again to check on how we liked it and asked for feedback. I was more than impressed. Reasonable prices for fantastic food served and prepared by professionals who care about their work and product. Thanks again, Chef Spaulding!

.Dinner May 28 For a hotel restaurant, this place was a very pleasant surprise! Really liked the menu and offerings and thought the wait staff was very good as well. The appetizers were cooked to order, fresh and unique! LOVED the Braised Pork Belly and thought the Brussels Sprouts were incredible some of the best I have ever had. Kale Caesar was not so good, liked the idea, but the taste was just not there! For dinner, I ordered half size portions of the Pasta dishes so I could get 2 tastes instead of 1 (by ordering a full size). The Bucatini Pomodoro was brilliant! Loved the unique noodle style and the sauce was very tasty! And the Ricotta Mezzaluna was very interesting. The sauce was very rich and nutty tasting. And the cheese filling was creamy and very distinctive! I really wish I could give this lace a 3.5 as the food was surprising good

Beet salad, pork cheeks, and panna cotta. All very good. Much superior than the usual hotel restaurant fare. Interesting beers and aperitifs. When staying at the marriott world save yourself a cab fare and eat here. Knowledgeable servers.

Food was good but not your place if you are looking for traditional Italian food or if you have a picky eater in your group. I ordered the Half Moon Mezzeluna-Ravioli. The Ravioli was stuffed with Mushroom and goat cheese. It was actually very good once I got past the surprise.

Dark, loud, difficult menu for Italian and we have eaten Itallian food around the world. Had to use a flashlight to read the menu. None of our group of four wanted to order so we walked out, first time ever for high dining.

The food was excellent and a good selection of beer, wine, and liquors. We shared the tomato salad which was awesome! I had the sausage and pepper pizza, wife had the rigatoni. Both were good. Kids choices were cheese pizza, penne with tomato sauce and a meatball ( could also have gotten Alfredo), or chicken fingers. Pretty much what every kid loves! For desert we got the zepoles. AWESOME! Definitely get them. They are easy to share as well.

Decided to try this out after our dinner plans fell through. I saw the good reviews so I was sold. This place is located inside the marriott hotel and resort, it is very nice. We had the cheese board as our appetizer which was good but was missing some other type of anti pasti such as olives or fruit. I had the kale pizza and my hubby had the carbonara Alfredo pasta. Both dishes were good, I've had better but the ambience and decor made up for it. The desserts were tiny but delicious. This is a tapas style restaurant with each appetizer ranging from $8-$12. The entrees are anywhere from $14 and up. The portion size is small to medium so be ready to spend if you're real hungry. Overall I had a pleasant experience and would come back next time I'm in town.

This is a REALLY BUSY place. make sure to make reservation ahead of time otherwise you'll be waiting for like forever. This is a tapas restaurant so we ordered lots of dishes to share. To start, we had mussels, rock shrimp, meatball, beets, and arborios. I would recommend all of them except the beets. The mussels were great - very well balanced flavor. The shrimp had a little fishy taste inside, maybe a little undercooked or maybe they intended to do it that way, but it is very well done on the outside - very crispy not oily. The meatballs were kinda soft and lose, meaning the meat was not as tight as the ones that i'm used to, but great flavor. For entrees, we ordered the special pizza - it changes i suppose and i didnt like it that much. The margherita pizza was excellent. One of the best margherita pizzas i've had. It's a thin crust pizza and the cheese on top were very finely grind and I really love the whole leaf piece of basil on each slice. Delicate. We also ordered ricotta gnudi - the veal was excellently done but i'm not a big fan of it. The arugula pasta was great - very fresh and makes me feel very healthy because everything was green and fresh. For dessert, we had hot zeppole - highly recommend. We also had seasonal sorbetto - if you like fruity sweet dessert - this is the one for you. The pistachio gelato was very very flavorful with big chunks of pistachio in the gelato. I would also recommend the pinot white wine - it has a sweet taste to it - not too dominating and it was not too dry either. The service was good i would say. The waitress was probably new so she didn't remember some of the ingredients of the specials of the day, which was fine. Then she forgot to get us arborios and she was probably really busy running around and didn't get us water till later, but I can tell that she's trying to give us attention. At least that's better than some rude waitresses who just gets the order and ignore you the entire time, right? She's very bubbly and sweet and I hope that she will grow in the near future. Overall, great experience.

Everything is delicious. I dined there with colleagues one night and a few nights later I was invited to eat at the chef's table, which was quite a treat. Great food and service.

Ahhhh....it's okay. On the plus side: The Caesar salad was the best I've ever eaten. It was fresh, crunchy, had anchovies and perfectly hard boiled eggs, crunchy croutons and some kale to top it all off. It was fantastic and I wish I had a double shot of it. The fettucini carbonara was less than mediocre. In fact I would venture to say that Olive Garden's carbonara may be better. The noodles themselves were good. But there was just a scant of pancetta and there should have been some black pepper or something to liven the dish up. So a bland plate of pasta brings my rating down. Wine list = impressive and a little overpriced. Service was middle of the road. Joint was loud but I like that. I'd look elsewhere for the bucks.

My first experience with Siro's cuisine was at Taste of the Nation. At this event they had the bacon old fashioned - unique and tasty! Next time we found them was at Yelp's magical dining event. Their salad watermelon and tomato salad was so fresh and topped with the most delicious creamy cheese. Their panna cotta was also delish and filled with raspberries. After two food events I think it's time we try Siro in restaurant!

I go to Siro with my 13 year old daughter, at 10:30p and hostess says she cannot sit us, we have to go to bar and order to go. I agree (I am reasonable and just wanted food), but 10 mins later she sits a party of 8. Then when we get to our room with our to go order (Caesar salad and golden beet salad) we have no dressing. The restaurant is closed but still has people in there- no one would give me dressing. Front desk asked room service, room service then sent 2 Siro servers up 35 mins later with dressing. No apology, just "here is your dressing." I go on a rant, one of the two starts to apologize and is empathetic. The other rolled his eyes and walked away. #epicfail

  • Dave T.

The fantastic food alone was not the high point of my experience at Siro's but rather the attention to details by Brandon, our waiter, and Tim, mixologist extraordinaire!!!!! My family and me have dined at some fine places in Northern NJ and NYC and Tim's cocktail creations are right up there with the best.. Also, Siro's is BY FAR the best value for your dining dollars at the Marriott and I recommend eating here EVERY night during your stay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The food was great the service was adequate and the atmosphere was nice. For an Italian place in the middle other resort it was able to meet or exceed all of my expectations. My wife and I split the bone marrow appetizer which was a delicious treat although they could've provided some more bread crostini. The meal was a bit out of sequence and/or a little slow as the appetizer and drinks did not come with the normal fluidity you expected a fine dining restaurant. For entrées I selected the steak (ny strip $29) which was well-prepared perfectly cooked, and well appointed with some crispy potato fingerlings. My wife said the meatballs were excellent but her accompanying pasta was a bit more al dente, but bucatini sometimes is. No desert but a good meal nonetheless.

Not worth trying. One of those places that tries to hard. The food is mediocre, I ordered Brussel Sprouts, Mussels, and Sqid Ink pasta. All three were over flavored and over sauced. There was no continuity in the menu w/ random selections.

The final stop on my 2013 Local Food Birthday Feeding Frenzy was dinner at Siro. First in the spirit of full disclosure I want to mention that I used to work at the World Center Marriott in their spa many ... many ... sigh ... many years ago. So yes I really wanted to like this restaurant because it would have been a bummer to bite (or not bite) the hand that fed me literally and figuratively all those years ago. But not to worry because this meal was stellar. The first thing they did right here was in relation to the magical dining month promotion. Siro was participating and unlike many other restaurants we have tried over the years during this event, the magical part was not that they made most of their menu choices disappear for customers wanting to try it. Siro did not have a "special" magical dining menu with items that aren't even usually offered. They also didn't hide the fact that the magical dining meal was available. They had it advertised out front and center as you checked in with the hostess. No when we asked about the magical dining choices the server said there was no special menu. We could have any appetizer, any entree and any dessert we wanted from the regular offerings. Anything. Ribeye? OK. Market price Swordfish? Sure. If it was on the menu we could choose it. And they also gave a fourth course by bringing a meat and cheese board to the table to start things off. Seems to me that if you want to give people who normally might not come to your restaurant the chance to try it and see for themselves how good it is and worth the prices you normally charge this is the way to do it. THIS was a MAGICAL deal. To begin our evening we each tried one of their hand crafted cocktails. My choice featured vodka and house made limoncello. It was a perfect balance of sweet to tart and dangerously smooth. Marty opted for a gin based cocktail that featured fresh watermelon juice and mint. It was light and refreshing. As I mentioned we started out the "magical" meal with a cheese board. It had two types of salami and two types of cheese along with some local honey, some marmalade and some wonderfully thin bread sticks. For our appetizers I picked the crispy Florida rock shrimp with banana peppers. The shrimp were lightly battered and delightfully crispy as promised. The portion was so generous that the leftovers will be a separate meal for me tomorrow night. Marty tried the arborio fritters which were basically small balls of basil risotto stuffed with fresh mozzarella, rolled in bread crumbs and deep fried. They were served with a little marinara sauce and were in a word - yummy. For dinner Marty ordered the roast of the day which was a ribeye. It came out well seasoned and cooked perfectly to his requested medium rare. The only mouthful he didn't care for was the accompanying sauté of veggies which had a green that was rather bitter. Since I am a pasta fanatic and they make all of theirs here in house, I opted to try the cheese mezzaluna which were crescent shaped cheese stuffed luscious morsels served with delightfully paper thin slices of summer squash and torn fresh basil in a brown butter sauce. So although by this point we were cursing the fact that we were wearing our out on the town and looking fine "thin" clothes with nary a millimeter of room to spare, we soldiered on and order dessert. We got one order of zeppole and one tiramisu. These were the best zeppole I have ever had - light as air - not the least bit greasy - yet crispy - but also melt in your mouth fluffy. I don't know how they do it. But I will go back here over and over just for them. And the tiramisu was no ugly second cousin. It held it's own just fine thank you. So we had all this food for the magical dining price of just $33 each and because it was my birthday and dessert was already part of the deal, when the bill came they had comped one of our cocktails. Now that's magical indeed! BTW valet parking (the real kind - see my revue of cask and larder to understand what I mean) is complimentary if you are dining at the restaurant. Just get your ticket validated by the hostess. Otherwise you self park and pay for the parking garage which is far enough away that they run a shuttle bus to get you to and fro.

We ordered the ribeye & it was cooked to perfection. The scallops appetizer was good but extremely tiny in portion size. How is it that an Italian restaurant doesn't offer bread for free & more importantly spaghetti? Service was mediocre & all staff members seemed to be angry for some reason including the hostess. Overall, we enjoyed our meal.

I had the Mahi, which our server swore up and down was delicious, and it was indeed meh. All four of us felt is was meh. If you're staying in the Marriott, it's probably okay if you are rushed or need a quick converence meeting meal, but don't go out of your way to check this place out. Mediocre.

  • Honest A.

It was ok for a hotel based restaurant. There is a charge for the bread that most places provide free. The service was good. The portions are appropriate to ample sized, so that means small for those who have portion distortion disorder and are overweight. They were on the salty side for verything we ordered. I am used to less seasoning.

  • Ashleigh D.

Let me start by saying this place kind of feels like an upscale Italian restaurant in a mall. It was a little echo-y and your standard ambient Italian restaurant. The menu is small but powerful. We started off with a cheeseboard and it was delicious! We also had those little fried balls that start with an "A" and they were to die for. I could've been satisfied on just that. The main course was unbelievable-- pasta carbonara with a creamy rich sauce. I couldn't finish the "full" portion, so if you're getting appetizers I would recommend a "half" portion. Service was friendly and I have no complaints. They also have a very good wine selection and knowledge. Great meal.

We had a selection of appetizers so that our table had a variety of items! They were: (1) "Roasted Bone Marrow" that was cooked to perfection that came with a small green salad with capers, thinly sliced radishes served with an excellent "Old School Grilled Toast" so you can spread your marrow on it . (2) "Mussels" steamed with Pinot Grigio in an amazing butter / lemon grass sauce with "Old School Grilled Toast" that was simply "AWESOME"! Be sure to ask for "extra" toast because you will want to soak up all the juices. (3) "Arborio Fritter" that were deep fried, very crispy and had a excellent, melted center of mozzarella cheese in them. Definitely a place to go when you are at the Marriott Orlando World Center BUT, be sure to make reservations well in advance because it fills very up fast. Cheers!

  • Steve S.

I haven't felt this ripped off in a long time. Do not go here if you value your money. Everything is a la carte- and the portions are tiny! I spent $24 on swordfish and the cut I was served was smaller than my iPhone. Seriously. Go somewhere else.

This is a sort of "farm to table" style restaurant, with the extra $sign for everything--drinks, food et al. The food was average, the service was good. Believe it or not, I had to wait almost an hour to be seated. As another reviewer indicated, one is kind of held on resort ransom. I did not try any of the other restaurants/fast food places on the property so dont have a comparison.

The pasta here is made fresh and is the best thing on the menu. The tuna tar tar and charcuterie are excellent. One the down side the pizza is a little under cooked for my taste I really like a crispy crust on the bottom and the pizza here is soft and pillowy. The desserts look beautiful however I think the presentation is overly complex. Cakes should be served by the slice not on a stick and tiramisu is fine on a plate it doesn't need to be served in wine glass. Also this place is hard to find and hard to get to. You have to park in the garage n the other side of the Marriott and walk across this super huge resort. Parking is 15$ but if you eat at Siro they will give a ticket for free parking so be sure to ask about that. Lastly this restaurant is place is a sort of in an atrium of the Marriott its ok but would be nicer if there was outside seating or window or something.

Three words...A..maze....ing!!! The food at Siro is hand crafted in loving detail. It really needs to be appreciated.

The beet salad was delicious (favorite dish of the night.) The tomato salad was also good. The rock shrimp was a bit fishy. The lemonade was good. Not too sweet. Best resturant in the Mariott.

Cheers!

If you want a quiet dinner this is not the place to eat. Service was excellent. Porkchop was tough undercooked had to send it back. Wine selection is very good.

Siro was very good. Ate here twice actually. Our server, Nicole, was friendly and fun, and Josh behind the bar was too. He was pretty stingy with his pour but I don't think the decision is in his hands. The food was consistently good and the service was too.

#epicfail

Mediocre.

It was ok for a hotel based restaurant. There is a charge for the bread that most places provide free. The service was good. The portions are appropriate to ample sized, so that means small for those who have portion distortion disorder and are overweight. They were on the salty side for verything we ordered. I am used to less seasoning.

Great meal.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
