Relax has one of the best views in Orlando, and is a great place to spend an afternoon on Lake Eola. They have decent drinks and decent specials. The food is average, but the views are fantastic. I recommend ordering their nachos, a pitcher of beer, and enjoy the view. I world only give them three stars because they don't have consistent hours and most of their food is just average, but the location makes up for it. The entire restaurant is outside, so plan accordingly.

I would describe this place as an open air bar that would be similar to a dive that you would find on the beach. The drinks are reasonably priced ($6 specialty cocktails all the time) and they seem to offer great happy hour promotions. The ambiance is nice enough, with lake eola being the main attraction. The servers are very busy and they seem to put little effort into decorations, but by far the cheapest place to buy a drink with that kind of view of lake eola.

The food we had was mediocre and the service was slow, but the location was relaxing and not too crowded for lunch on a Monday. Ordered shrimp baskets and a shrimp po boy. Everything except the fries was dry. Shrimp was over breaded and overcooked to a dark brown crisp. The po boy was on dry sub sandwich bread that was not soft, not warm and the shrimp was the same flat burnt crispy shrimp from the basket. The onion rings were greasy and not worth the extra $1.50 I would have given three stars but the two tables to the right and left of us received There food way before we did and both sat down after we had already ordered! Our waitress was sweet and very nice, the slow and Mediocre food was certainly not her fault, the best part of the visit...the view. I would not return, but other food looked decent.

This is a fabulous spot to sit right on lake eola and enjoy a nice evening out. It's really all about the location with this place. Otherwise, it's unremarkable bar food and drinks. Not bad, just average. Definitely worth going for the location, though. We'll be back. :-)

Beautiful evening downtown after some major rain. Relaxing with my love at Eola Park, Orlando.

Came in for a birthday lunch and ordered the chicken kabob lunch special. When I cut into the chicken it was undercooked. Sent it back it was better but there was a few pieces that were still undercooked. I continued to eat the food because it wasn't until I got to the top of the kabob where I noticed it was undercooked. We asked for it to be removed from the bill. They refused because "I picked around it. They gave us a discount however I think they could have done more.

I love coming here for drinks when I'm downtown. It's outside and the service has always been good Saturdays are ladies night from 7-10pm with $2 bud light, wine, and wells. Plus from 9pm to 11pm, they have $6 pitchers of bud light and $2 smornoff, $3 bacardi and $5 signature apps! This will be a regular hang out on Saturday nights :) The menu is big has a nice variety of chicken, beef, shrimp, fish, burgers, wraps, gyros, apps and stir fry. Haven't eaten here yet so I'm not sure if it's actually good or not..will update my review when I actually do eat something Definitely a great place to have a drink and be outside enjoying the Orlando weather!

Stopped in for lunch and afternoon drinks. The service is great and everyone is very friendly. My guest and I had the blackened mahi sandwich, which was perfectly cooked and very tasty. We got caught in the Orlando afternoon summer rain storms and stayed a while longer, just relaxing and enjoying the day. (This place is definitely a relaxing spot on Lake Eola just as the name suggests.) Only drawback - there are no restrooms on the premises. You have to use the Lake Eola restrooms about 25-30 yards away, which is not convenient during an Orlando monsoon!

Great out door bar located inside lake eola park, They are a few feet from the walt disney amphitheater and right a cross the boat rentals. This spot is usually dead with locals week long except on the weekends before church and during the Farmers market. They have two bars one in the back and the most used one is next to the Kitchen. The menu consist normal american fare mostly sandwiches during lunch and more diverse selection during dinner like stir fry , kabobs and seafood. At the bar they have a very healthy selection of brews on draft mostly domestic and local. Nothing I had was a disappointment.I have ad the peel and eat shrimp ,wings ( which are pretty big ). and there grilled tilapia sandwich . Service was excellent, everybody was really nice and attentive including on there busiest days .

Had one of the best "dates" at this place. I didn't even know it existed! Great place to meet up and enjoy beer and food outside. Busy enough you have privacy to enjoy a conversation with someone special. The downside to this place: the nasty Public bathrooms they send you to and when they get busy, they run out of decent beer on tap. Pros: dogs everywhere - love that Casual atmosphere and would bring mine if I had one. Outside but covered, no issue of bugs surprisingly and the sunsets over lake EOLA are nice.

Views and staff. That's what this place had going for it. It was nice to sit by the lake, have a mixed drink, be served by a professional and relax.

My love for this place is still unwavering . It's the most relaxing, laid back, chill place I've found In lake eola, Thorton park, and winter park. The outside seating is still the best with views of the lake. They have both fans and heaters to satisfy your weather needs. Their drink specials through out the week are the best it will only set you back a few bucks. The only reason I took a star off from my last review is that the price of the food is a bit steep compared to the drink specials. I paid over $10 for 5 regular sized peel and eat shrimp. The food is tasty regular bar like food. I would still recommend this place to anyone and always spend a few hours here when I'm in town.

We had a great view in the outdoor patio area. My wife and i both had the Mediterranean combo, which was good. The outdoor area is dog friendly which is a major attraction for us. Good food with a great view. It must be noted that the service is sloooow. Our food and our 1st two rounds of drinks were served in a reasonable amount of time, however, my next drink order convinced me that i have the power of invisibiliy.

I love this place. I've been going for years, mainly at lunch, but sometimes in the afternoon just to sit and look at the water and the swans and read a book. It's comfortable being there with friends, and it's comfortable being there by myself. The food is not fancy but is consistently good. I especially love the Relax special (grilled chicken and vegetables in pita with a dash of hot sauce) and the chicken souvlaki salad, which is basically a big Greek salad with grilled chicken. The platter of Greek appetizers is wonderful and is enough for three or four people. The servers couldn't be nicer, and you can go in business clothes or running shorts or overalls and feel welcome. The name is perfect -- this is one of the most relaxing places I know.

The service is always terrible. They do make a mean gyro though! Don't go for lunch if you only have an hour.

  • Chris R.

The place is great for what it is. The food is simple, the drinks are cheap, and it's right on Lake Eola. I recommend coming here for a casual drink or meal. I normally get the Chicken Souvlaki, which is really filling and good - just make sure you get some tzatziki to go with it!

Love this place. Lovely Views of the people and our Lake Eola Downtown Orlando! They have great specialty cocktails with funny names and beer too! Or even a bottle of wine to share as you people watch! The food to good- get the hummus not the Nachos. Great salads and other specials too. They try to be social and host trivia and music too - support it - stick around and tell a few friends! (They are expanding as well - check back or visit to see!)

  • Oliver Z.

Beautiful location. Sitting on the patio with view of the lake is very nice and relaxing. The food (we had the Gyro and Mozzarella Sticks) was good and so was the service. Only the 2hr limit signs on each table make you feel that you are not really welcome here.

    (3)
  • Kelsey S.

They have a sign on the table that reads "2 hour maximum." Yet it took our table of two almost 2 hours just to receive our chicken fingers and chicken Kebob, and when the food did come, it was dry and not hot. Go for the view and a drink, but prepared to be frustrated if you decide to order food.

When I read the reviews I figured we would have a long wait and the food would be mediocre. We decided to eat here anyway because it was on the lake and there was casual outdoor seating and we had our baby with us. We could easily bring the stroller in and if she woke and started fussing a bit it wasn't too upscale of a place for that to be looked down upon. We got asked about drinks right away and my drink, the grass skirt, was really sweet and delicious. It was me feel like I was on vacation. The server brought us our mozzarella stick appetizer quickly and they were also pretty scrumptious. Our food came out quickly as well and the plates were large in size for a great price. Hubby ordered wings and fries and told me that they were better than a lot of wings he has had. I ordered the steak stir fry, which was pieces of steak mixes with sautéed veggies over rice. It was very good - much better than expected. We also got to watch the fountain show while eating, although we couldn't really hear the music playing for the show because of the restaurant's music, but it was still nice to watch. I would come back again next time I'm in the area.

My husband and I spent a lot of time at Lake Eola the last few months getting ready for our wedding there. This spot has amazing food where we could sit outdoors and relax and discuss everything. Their hummus appetizer is delicious and we had their gyros every time. This place hits the spot!

I eat here almost every day for the last 4 years while at work. So far I have never had a bad meal. Love the atmosphere, the staff is great, the food is delicious and the view is beautiful. If you think it's too hot because it's outside seating during the summer, it's not, they have fans on the ceilings and they keep you cool. With the music and the fans it feels like it's a tropical island. Now it's called relax grill for a reason. It is not a fast food joint. So sit down, order your food and some drinks. If it's not crowded you will have to wait about 15 to 20 min. But if it's crowded about 20 to 30 min. It's worth the wait.

Fast service! Fresh food, right on the lake. Beautiful to just unwind with a snack. Try the nachos and Zucchinis you can't go wrong.

Holy, I love this place. Open seating. Really is a place to relax by the lake. I felt like I was away from the tourist. I have the gyro , salad and ice tea for $10. What a lunch deal. It was great. My cousin and his wife had a mahi sandwich and shrimp poor boy. They devoured. My boyfriend got a the Philly cheese steak also great. I couldn't stop eating his fries. The best fries! Our server was great!

Went for happy hour with a girlfriend of mine, we chose Relax because it is located accross from our job. We arrived and grabbed a table at 5:09 and was very disappointed to learn that they had already 'sold out ' of the drafts and bottles that were included in the happy hour special...which was another reason we came here. Happy hour special was $2 beers and $3 wines, which were all sold out - drinks we had to settle for were double the price, and then some. They were out of 2 other beers as well, and eventually in stead of just guessing what they had the server went to check. I ordered the gyro, which was just ok. Overall the best part about my trip to Relax grill was the great view of Lake Eola. We actually had to get up and track down our server in order to pay, after sitting finished with our meals for about 30 minutes. Place gets very busy!! Oh and its pet friendly too! Overall I was not too impressed and I dont think I will return.

Let's face it: you're not going to get gourmet cuisine at Relax Grill. The food will be "ok" and the service will be "ok" and the beer you order will come to you in those little plastic cups (like when you visit those beachside bars with drunks everywhere.) But you didn't really come to Lake Eola just to go have lunch at the Relax Grill. You went to see the lake and take in the sights of downtown Orlando (and have fun checking out the swans who walk around like they own the place - that's because they do). So Relax Grill is an afterthought for people visiting the lake, but taken in that context it's a perfectly good place to "relax". It's right by the water, near the guy who sells tickets to ride those silly mechanical swan things, but you get a nice view of everything no matter where you sit. Plenty of outdoor space. Our waitress was very nice; the service was slow but not *too* slow. (Note: This is lunchtime I am talking about - I cannot speak for weekends where things are probably in chaos). Food: I ordered the Relax Special (grilled chicken in pita bread with sauteed onions, feta cheese, hot sauce). It was - OK. Not great, but good enough, if you get my drift. The french fries, while a bit salty, were also OK. My beer was OK. Yep, everything at Relax Grill is A-OK. Anyway, check out Lake Eola! Isn't that a beautiful view........

The drinks are delicious, the food is okay, but the service was a bit slow. It was obvious they're short staffed. I've had the gyro and the cheeseburger, and although they were good, there wasn't much that set them apart from any other gyro or cheeseburger I've had. The bar seating was very uncomfortable because the chairs were too short, and seating at the tables weren't too comfortable either. I think that if they incorporated more Mediterranean influence into the menu, picked up on the service, and had better furniture, this place would be A1.

I love this place and I will be coming back for sure. The drinks are extremely relaxing aside the always beautiful lake eola. The food is also very surprisingly good as well. Its hard to find a decent gyro in this city and Relax grill does oblige. There is not a ton else to say about it though. Its an excellent establishment alongside lake eola that will be the perfect place to hang out with a friend or two on a nice sunny day to just relax or to maybe watch your favorite sporting event. They had no problem putting my favorite out of town sports team on the TV when I asked.

I came here and only had drinks. The location is amazing, you have the beautiful back drop of Lk Eola there with the Orlando fountain. The bartender was nice and genuine. My party wanted to move to table instead of staying at the bar. We asked if we should close out or just transfer, and she said it didn't matter- whichever we prefer, She was nice and didn't seem bothered by it at all like a lot of other bartenders would. We closed out at the bar so she would get her tips and then moved to table where another server took over. The thing that was definitely a con to this place was that they do not have their own bathroom- you have to use the Lk Eola public bathroom, which was really gross. TP everyone on the ground and it didn't look like it was kept up at all.

The drinks are good and priced right. Service is ok, acceptable but not to my standards. I did grow up in the restaurant business so I like to get greeted when I arrive. Even if you're busy which they are not , just please acknowledge my presence. I would love to take over this place and make it happen. The staff are nice they just need new management.

Strengths: Phenomenal location in Thorton Park. Pet friendly. Good drink selection. Friendly service. Opportunities: Not many. This place is what it is. An outdoor bar. Food is fair but a bit pricey for what you get. It's ok because it is secondary. Summary: Great place to stop by during the day or after work for a drink with friends.

I have seen negative reviews for this place on Google+ I don't understand why? Took a friend there today she loved it! You have a beautiful view of Lake Eola, the drinks are great and the prices are good, had a gyro, awesome! The service was quick and she was very nice, so what is up with the people on Google+. I'll go back. Most negative people you can't please anyway. The world would be a better place if these people would just stay home.

One of my favorite bar/restaurants in downtown Orlando. This outdoor grill is dog friendly, and one can expect to see pups there all the time. Service is excellent, an the waitstaff will even serve your pup with a big bowl of water! College football is always on the TV's, and there are great drink and good deals. Not fancy by any means, but very friendly, unique and fun!

The name is perfect. It's one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat and a drink. It's right on Lake Eola, so the atmosphere is perfect. Spring and fall are the best times to enjoy this outdoor spot, though it is covered. The menu is a bit eclectic, so it's easy for everyone to find something to eat. My favorite is the Chicken Kabobs. I've never had bad service. My recent trip was with a large group and there were technical difficulties, but the server kept us informed throughout the whole evening.

This place is under new management and is way better. Parking: You have to park on the street and after 6 parking is free. Bring quarters, park behind the place and walk in from the back. Biking: I like to bike in from behind the restaurant. There is a huge parking lot there which is to a bank, I think its a bank, and then I chain my bike up to one of the parking signs. People watching is the best since its on Lake Eola. I like to come here during happy hour, buy $3 house wine and eat food for $2 off and then watch people with sunglasses on. Or stare at the squirrels and duck families chilling in the grass. Then a hot guy will run by. Five minutes later another hot guy will run by. It is great. They have REALLY comfortable outside chairs. They look wicker but arent and they learn back. A rocking chair for when you are drinking - nice. The food was really good. The bread was nice on my fish sandwich and the next day when I heated it up the bread was still soft and fabulous. Pretty good food and decent prices, especially during happy hour. Tons of seating outside in the open air, covered seating too and two or three bars with the type of vibe that you can sit and meet people, stare at people or be alone with someone. The waitress was on her A game and always popped up when my drink was low. She was also dressed hot and so was everyone else so if you want some friendly waitress with a pleasing appearance, come here.

Horrible horrible and extremely slow service. We waited for over an hour for food that never came. It was especially infuriating when the table next to us sat down and had their food in 15 minutes.

The place is as airy as a beergarten in Germany all year round except for summer. Then you can enjoy it here without sweating. In the summer you just need to be prepared for sweat and slomo. The wait staff, however, is excellent any time of the year. Friendly, quick and correct with the orders. Being in walking distance from home also helps to make this a favorite spot. Love it here.

Great atmosphere and fun bar. Stopped in here with kids and grandparents after a tour of the lake. It's a great place for an interesting, relaxing lunch and/or dinner. We had the gyro, cheesecake and hotdogs. Everything was tasty, and even the most critical were pleased by the food.

Hmm what an awesome patio and scenery but the service was just okay and the food also. The bummer thing is that I had high hopes. The Mediterranean player was amazing at least.

Ah, another experience that makes me happy I moved up North. Used to never being able to get a seat anywhere, MUCH less on the water, with good service (service in SoFla is the crappiest anywhere I have ever been) finding this spot was a happy treat. There were plenty of seats available and a live singer. Nice. Service with a very sweet smile and great attitude there were a few drink specials available. Who can argue with $3 drinks? I mean REALLY? Regular priced drinks are only $6 anyhow. Still a great price for a small spot on the lake. I noticed a huge sign that said that since everything was made to order that it might take a while for the food. I found that the food came out very quickly. I ordered a blackened Mahi Mahi, it came with Pita bread, a salad and rice. The fish was pretty large and on a huge salad, expecting the salad to be a white iceberg lettuce and tiny, I was floored to see it was super green Romaine lettuce with olives and feta. Beware there is a dash of hot sauce on the rice. I don't mind it, I just didn't expect it and had the whole dash in one bite. Ouch. I was downright full by the time I was done. The ambiance was great. The only con was the table of smokers next to us. Here there is no escaping that particular ducherie since it is an outdoor spot. Since I have no choice to go inside to avoid cigarette smoke, you should go away from those who are eating while sucking on said crap. Not cool. I am looking forward to many more evenings here. Despite the smokers.

I love a place with a great view, friendly service, and a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. This place has all of those. I have rarely had this friendly service at a place like this, and they were even pretty busy. The menu us Mediterranean style and drinks are cheap. The grille is right against the lake overlooking the gondola and paddle boat rentals. Lots of people passing by with dogs or out for a run. As the name states, this is a great place to relax.

  • Megan E.

The food and ambience at relax are wonderful. However, the service we received last Saturday was terrible. The waitress took ten minutes to greet us, and was exceptionally slow throughout the entire experience. Then, after taking forever to bring us our checks, she doubled them up into three books. At this point, I was extremely frustrated with the level of service I received, after having been a server myself for 7 years. No one realized that there were two checks in one book, and I made a comment that she could have let us know so we weren't sitting there waiting for our checks. She gave me an attitude, so I proceeded to tell her that we were in a hurry, and did not appreciate the slow service. She then told me that maybe I shouldn't be a drunk girl and pay attention. (I had consumed one beer at this point.) I would never treat a customer this way, even if they were being unreasonably difficult. I don't think that complaining about slow service warrants this kind of reaction, and I will be hesitant to return to relax, which is unfortunate because it is an otherwise great establishment.

Amazing service. We had a table for 12 and the waitress was very attentive to our group, got our order correct, and offered us great drink deals. The food was delicious. Large portions which are good for sharing. The best part is the view of lake eola and the breeze as you eat.

My first one star review, and I am sad that it has to be at such a nice and pretty location. After reading other reviews, I feel that a lot of people give Relax Grill at Lake Eola a higher star rating just because of the location and the view. After my horrible experience I couldn't give them anything higher than one star. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon when the weather was perfect out. They do have a very nice patio and you can't beat the view. It was Cinco de Mayo, so my husband ordered their Margarita that was on special. I asked for a water with lemon and to see a drink menu. Almost ten minutes later our server came back asking my husband what her ordered again. She then brought out my water (no lemon) and forgot the drink menu. I asked her for a lemon and the drink menu again. She told me that they ran out of lemons and are getting more. She then went and got the drink menu and my husband's drink finally. The Margarita was gross. All you could taste was the sour mix. I looked over the menu and decided to order the vegetarian stir fry. My husband ordered beef quesadillas. I noticed that on the menu they obnoxiously wrote at least three different times to please be patient because your food is cooked to order. I was being patient even though our food took over 30 minutes to be cooked. I started to lose my patience when the table of three behind us ordered their meal at least 10 minutes after us and got their food way before us. They finished their meal before ours was brought out. When the meal came the disaster continued. First of all my husband was brought out a cheesesteak instead of his order. Second of all I about cracked a tooth on my uncooked rice. I am not exaggerating here, the rice was seriously hardly cooked. I had my husband take a bite and you could hear the crunch from across the table. His response.."Ow I hurt my tooth!" My meal was inedible. We got our servers attention and explained to her our problems. She did offer to have them recook both meals. After being here for almost an hour and starving we told her no. I also pointed out that the table behind us came in after us and were getting ready to leave. This is where she tried to tell us that the chefs cook the items at a different pace, and our food just took longer to cook than theirs because they ordered something different. I found that funny when they ordered the cheesesteak just like my husband was mistakenly given. We ended up just paying for the disgusting Margarita and leaving to go eat lunch elsewhere. I can honestly say I have never done that before. I just couldn't wait around anymore and take the chance of being served another meal that might have sent me to the dentist!

Downtown Orlando's best place to have lunch outside. I knock off a star because you are forced to use the public park toilets and ick. Bring your dog! They are super dog friendly. Try to find a table with shade. I believe you seat yourself and it gets very hot, very quickly. I'm actually surprised how good the food is. The gyro salad combo, veggie stir fry and even the falafel is fantastic. Or maybe I just work up such a hunger by the time I walk there? The last few visits I noticed they always screw up my friend's drinks somehow. I think the soda fountain or whatever must be broken, because the sodas never taste right. They also always seem to have a drink specials going on. I was surprised how good the margaritas were! So nevermind the soda issue...

This is a great place to grab some food in a nice atmosphere. Its not quite a bar and not quite a restaurant, rather a great mix of the two which makes for a fantastic place to just meet with some friends and grab a drink and a bite to eat. They always seem to have specials going on, their $10 all you can drink on Fridays from 6 to 8 is a good one. My friends and I typically head there on Wednesdays for trivia, which is a ton of fun. The salads are big, and I love the fried shrimp. The only issue comes when ordering food. Be prepared to wait for a bit. Depending on how many people are there, it may take an hour or more for you to get your meal. But if you're just sitting with friends and have nowhere to go, it's not a huge problem.

I went over to Relax Grill on a sunny Saturday evening. I often pass by this place when I go on my runs around the park, and I've always been skeptical about the quality of food that they serve. This just seemed like another one of those gimmicky lakeside places that take advantage of the nice scenery to serve up subpar food. Well, I was only half right. Let me start out by saying that they make everything fresh. Nothing is frozen or pre-made, so it takes a lot longer for your food to be brought out. Not only this, but they don't have a wide selection of beers. I don't mind waiting long for my food if I've got something good to drink, but none of the beers were turning me on. I decided to try the pink riesling, the buffalo chicken wrap with curly fries, and I stole some of my bf's chicken fingers. Now, I really like the pink riesling. It was sweet and not too dry. It was pretty good. Then I went for my main. The curly fries were great. I really liked them. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The buffalo chicken wrap, although the waitress claimed it to be a crowd fave, was not my fave. Too much cheese, chicken was a little dry, but felt really watery from the buffalo sauce, just not that great. The chicken fingers were great though. They were so juicy and tender. You could really tell that they made them to order. I also tried a bit of the spinach artichoke dip and it was alright. I've had better. I might come back for the chicken fingers. They were pretty great. All in all, good service, pretty reasonable prices, and good scenery.

Being from South Florida, I am on an Everquest for an outdoor place that reminds me of being on the beach to make my new favorite place now that I have moved to Orlando. This place isn't it. I went for happy hour and their specialty drinks are not included. If just beer, wine and one-liquor drinks are what happy hour is then I think they should have a menu with some one-liquor drinks on it. I had a Poison Ivy (a specialty drink the waitress recommended) and it was ok. Tasted like watered down kool-aid. My waitress was friendly and relatively attentive. I didn't order food and I was alone so there was not much attention needed. To top off the evening, I got three mosquito bites. Onward, I go on my quest.

My friends and I were looking for a fun place to get drinks and sit outside to enjoy the beautiful day. This restaurant is in a great location, albeit a little difficult to find. We sat in the chairs located closest to the water, so we had a great view of the lake as well as being able to people-watch as the city moved past us. Overall, the drinks are fun. Unfortunately, I made the wrong drink choice and my 'Liquid Sunshine' had a bit too much grape vodka in it, giving it a cough-medicine like taste. My friends drinks (one of which was a Grass Skirt) were both tasty however, so I simply switched to wine once I finished my cough syrup. The happy hour pricing is very unclear on the menu and since the waitress talked through the specials so quickly, it was a bit overwhelming to keep up. Drinks that we thought were included ended up not being part of the specials, so we did feel overcharged at the end of our meal. As a Vegetarian, I was disappointed with the options available, but did end up ordering the Mediterranean Appetizer Sampler. WOW - lots of food! I did really enjoy the different hummus options as well as the Falafel that came out. The Pita bread included in my meal was fresh and tasty as well. As an Appetizer, we ordered the Cheese Nachos, which were much larger than we expected. My husband ordered a fish sandwich, which came out with fries, although he had asked for a salad instead. Overall, I believe our waitress was just rushing a bit while we were ordering. The Pros: Big portions, Drink Specials (when they charge correctly), Great Location, Relaxing Atmosphere and of course, the ducks that stop by to visit are adorable! The Cons: Bad communication, Incorrect orders brought out twice (one of my friends had an incorrect drink), Overcharging on 'Specials'

Definitely lived up to the name of being relaxing! Great outdoor space to enjoy drinks and conversation with a companion. You have to seat yourself and find your own table, but it's worth it. This place is dog friendly. The server was really nice, and she was mindful of not touching any dogs while she was serving even when dogs tried to jump on her. The food was great, with good portion sizes.

In it's previous incarnation, this location was quite a bit more rough around the edges. It was still nice, but now that it's Relax Grill it seems to have improved substantially. A large portion of the seating is under an overhang, with several tables available out in the open. It's nice to have that choice depending on the weather. Of course, the view is great. 4 stars for the location, the view, and the nice seating area. 5 stars for being dog friendly [photo]. I don't know why, but the crackdown on pet-friendly outdoor seating several years ago left such a bad taste in my mouth that even though the laws were changed in 2006, I still get excited to find a pet-friendly establishment. 3 stars for the food. It's not bad, but it's mainly pretty basic pub fare. I had a steak sandwich, and while the steak was cooked nicely, it had too much cheese on it and too little else. Something extra like a garlic-based spread would have helped quite a bit. The size of the sandwich overall was good, as were the fries. Great place for a quick lunch with the pup. We'll be back.

You can't beat the location of Relax Grill, it's right on Lake Eola. Relax Grill offers a gorgeous view of the lake and the beautiful fountain. You'll also get a glimpse of all the folks out enjoying their walk around Lake Eola. Along with the people out in the park you will find plenty of birds to watch as well. Don't worry these are the pesky kind that want to take your food. They are the swans & ducks that make Lake Eola their home. A nice bonus for this outdoor restaurant are the fans keeping the patio cool, and the newly installed awnings keeping it dry during those pesky storms. We have enjoyed happy hour here. They offer half priced beer & house wines along with $5 appetizers from 5:00-7:00pm. Monday through Friday. Though the beers on special aren't to my liking, so I end up getting Shocktop on draft for $3. On our visits we've only ordered off the appetizer menu. The Bruschetta was delicious, the quesadillas were filling. While the hummus was very good one time and not so much another. The $6 kid's menu is your usual kid fixings that my daughter found tasty. The service here has been incredibly friendly. The laid back atmosphere is just what I'm looking for during a happy hour. There's no liquor here, but I'm sure a cold one and tasty food with a view to boot is hard to complain about.

I have only been here and had drinks, I have not dined here. I love the location, the view and the people watching here. It is a nice spot to sit and spend a bit of time when you are at Lake Eola park. On a nice day, if you have the time, it is a nice spot to hang out.

I went to Relax Grill for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and was happy with my experience. I have walked past Relax plenty of times while walking around Lake Eola so I was happy I got a chance to try it out. My favorite part is the ambiance and setting of the restaurant. It is very casual and by Lake Eola so it had a nice view. The food was pretty good - I got the Lamb Gyro and my dad got the Steak Stirfy. I definitely want to come check it out for Happy Hour as it is the kind of restaurant you can sit at outside all day!

So the food here is just fine, but the service... it's really horrible. It takes forever to get your menus, to order a drink, to order food (the food came in a decent amount of time once we got to order), to get your check (mine was wrong) and to get a waitress to pick up your check. Waitstaff kept bringing our table other people's food and never brought us silverware (we had to steal it from other people's tables). The beer selection on draft is slim pickings. All that said, sitting by the lake is nice. I probably won't be back though.

It is a great location however it is all outdoors, went there on a muggy hot florida night. Went on a trivia night which was quite fun, but something with drinking wine out of a plastic cup doesnt seem quite fulfilling. :p food was just okay for a bar environment. Id still come back and visit just on a cooler night and just for drinks.

Very good atmosphere to chill and relax. Good view of the lake. They got really good gyro..but don't recommend their stir fry with rice. The rice is super hard and dry

The location is pleasant. The food is okay. The menus say "relax," because food is made to order and takes a while to cook. AKA, it's a restaurant. Yet the service is incredibly slow when there is more than 10 people there.

Lovely spot with an amazingly beautiful backdrop of Lake Eola! Pros: Gorgeous scenery Pups allowed Pretty tasty food Good deal on lunch specials I constantly pass this place on my morning walk around Lake Eola and when I am strolling around DT but rarely have I ever ventured in to grab a drink or food. Today I had a lunch meeting here and it was a very nice experience. Everyone that worked there was super nice and the service was pretty dang quick! I went with a grilled chicken sandwich and fries with a drink all for $9! Score. The chicken was tasty, I was unable to have cheese cause of a current diet restriction so if it was good without cheese, i am sure its even better with it! I will def have to check this place out for HH one time cause the location is prime! I bet dinner during sunset is killer!!

Can it get any more chilled out than a place called Relax? Just offa the water on Lake Eola this outdoor bar/grill is a pretty popular spot. Easy to see why. Good location, tasty food, drink specials. That's the Tri-ad right there. When we arrived on a Saturday night we walked by a group of I'm guessing 30/40 people, all congregated in a long collection of tables. Looking at the large party I figured service would suffer. Only a few servers on the clock that night and you knew a group of that magnitude would command a lot of attention. So at first, it did--I guess there was a little confusion as to who was taking our table. After about 10 minutes we flagged down a a server and from there it was all good. We timed it well as after 7 pm, $2 wines, beers and mixed drinks for the ladies. The deal isn't anything goes though. Wanna say it was limited to like, two different kinds of wine, Bud Light and well drinks. Still for just $2 bucks...at that locale alone you're getting a helluva deal on a night which many bars offer zilch. When it came time to eat I ordered the Relax Wing Combo. Came with 7 wings, fries and a pitcher of Bud Light, all for 16 bucks. Not a bad combo if you ask me. The wings were good. I asked for tots instead of fries, no problem and they Hooked. It. Up. Tater tot overload, plenty to share. Friends got the gyro, had a taste...also good. If I had to note anything negative regrading our venture to Relax Grill it was the gawd awful live music. I hate to be the hater, really I do. I'm not up there singing, that takes guts...but I reckon if I was the owner of a bar, I'd at least audition the entertainment before they set up shop. These guys need to hit up the garage for more practice, or maybe use the tip money you're bringing in to buy a PA that's bigger than a bread box. Other than the lousiest NOFX cover I've ever heard in my life, everythnig else was tip top. So, Relax.

My best friend and I had fallen in love with this adorable outdoor cafe, which is just the perfect niche on a nice cool evening downtown. Relax Cafe offered a gorgeous view of Lake Eola, and the environment was indeed relaxing. We ordered Greek salad with grilled chicken. The salad rocked! It was loaded with "life is good" stuff (Chicken, feta, cucumber, etc.) with dressing and some fresh homemade pita breads. The waiting staff was quite attentive throughout our meal and making sure we were all cool. This place is highly recommended if you're looking for a nice casual meal downtown with great lake views. It is best to go during cooler months since it is an outdoor eatery. BONUS TIP- Dine here around 730pm or 9pm and catch the jazz show which begins at 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. featuring a choreographed water, light and sound show of Lake Eola. It is a stunning sight to be seen. Ah, now I feel so relaxed.

This place makes it on location, as it is the only place IN lake Eola park. It is a nice chill relaxing atmosphere with usually good music. Drinks are actually very reasonable, but the service can usually use a little to be desired for. Food isn't bad. Most of what I've had was obviously from a jar/box/whatever. I don't go there for a gourmet meal though. It's great if its gorgeous out, you want a cold beer (and usually it is just that) maybe something to pick on and are low maintenance.

Definately a fan of this place. The ambience is spot on, with views of the lakes, lights around and sometimes a band plays outside. Food was good (hummus plate was deelish!) but my star rating is based mostly on the location and atmosphere.

..discovered this place while walking along Lake Eola. Place is nice and quaint but can get a bit busy. Good place to people watch and is a prime spot in downtown Orlando. The food is amazing especially the ground beef nachos and the atmosphere is light and friendly. The service is good but can get a bit long during busy hours.

Well, Relax was relaxing and fun, especially on the day of Come Out With Pride. No complaints here. Considering the huge crowds, service was quite good, as was the food. On a pretty hot day, Relax was comfortable, and the food and ambience were just fine.

Great view and place to get drinks just stay away from the food. My girl fished out some charred remains that probably was a vegetable some time back in 1979 from her veggie stir fry which tasted like it had been cooked in BBQ sauce. My chicken kabob was nothing special but at least it was edible unlike her dish.

I've been here several times and its always good. Great beer selection. The 7 layer dip & the Mediterranean plate are delish. It is very casual and all seating is outside. The view of the lake is nice as well. It offers all that its name states, Relax.

As others have said, definitely eat here for the view not so much the food. Not that the food is bad, but if the restaurant was located was anywhere else it might struggle. There is nothing quite like dining along Orlando's most famous lake which is oddly peaceful even though it's located in the heart of the city. The restaurant is small with outdoor dining only. I ordered the Relax Grill Special ($9) which had absolutely no description on the menu. I asked my server about it, she said it was grilled chicken with sauteed onions in a pita with feta cheese. She also said it was one of her favorites. I decided to give it a try and also ordered the greek salad to accompany my wrap. The food took a while being prepared, it would have been nice to have the salad first. But they were plated together so I had to wait. The salad was good but the only thing greek about it was the feta cheese. It came with a balsamic vinagrete which was tasty but again, not too Greek. I was unaware that the chicken was prepared spicy- I don't do spicy. I ate it anyway but it letf my mouth burning. My son was dining with me (about 5:15pm on a Wednesday- still kid-friendly) and had mac and cheese and fries off the kids menu. The mac and chees was your Kraft variety with some extra cheese melted on top. His fries were your ordinary run of the mill waffle variety. Nothing special for $6, but at least they had a kid's menu! Service was friendly but a little slow considering how empty the place was. I noticed they have movie nights and half priced drinks during and after a rain storm. I loved the location and would go back. It is a great people watching spot and not a bad place for a couple of drinks and a meal.

This bar advertises NFL Sunday Ticket which it has but it's not a great place to watch a game. They have 3 HD TV's at the bar but there is no bar stools. So to watch a game you have to stand the whole time. There are a few other TV's hanging around but they could have done a much better job of TV placement. They have a big screen projection but refused to put the sound on and instead played music to which no one pays attention. It is a nice place to sit and watch people walk by but other than that I wasn't impressed. Food took forever and service was generally slower than average. And one thing that drove me crazy was that they have mustard bottles on the tables but no ketchup. You have to ask and you get ketchup packets. Maybe it's just me, but come on...put ketchup bottles out.

Lives up to its name. Super chill restaurant. Waitresses wear flipflops, so do patrons, who also bring their dogs and/or kids. They were playing some awesome music when I was there. I got this delicious meal that was like fish with a greek salad plate with rice. I like the way they do their rice in Florida. New York rice sucks.

The Relax Grill is very relaxing. Located at Lake Eola right near the swan boats and about a minutes walk from the amphitheater, the Relax Grill is nestled below the trees. It's a small outdoor cafe with a bar and lunch/dinner options. We went for a drink after walking around the lake. A cup of Pinot Grigio (not in a glass, a cup) was $2, a cup of soda was $2 as well, a large cup of ice water was $1. Our bartender was very nice. We wanted to sit at the bar to watch the Olympics playing on the giant screen tv and tried to pull up chairs but they said that we couldn't do that so we had to sit at a table further away. You aren't allowed to take alcoholic beverages into the park. We asked about their dessert options and they had several different types of cake ranging from $5-6 a slice. It was a nice place to go but I probably won't be going back unless I happen to be in the area.

Hobbled over here after paddleboating in the middle of the day (not my brightest idea), and this place definitely lives up to its namesake! Awnings cover most of the patio, and there are fans stationed all around the place. Even with an empty restaurant, my food took about 25 minutes to come out; definitely gave me some time to wind down and enjoy people-watching. The lunch special is pretty alright; $9 for a salad or some fries, an entree, and a drink. The chicken kabob with seasoned rice and Greek salad... pretty good! And the presentation was cute too! Certainly a place to stop by if you're ever on that side of Lake Eola.

I've taken hundreds of walks at Lake Eola and have walked past Relax Grill at Lake Eola several times without eating there. I guess I was saving the best for last because I finally took the time one afternoon to eat at this restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and tasty. There was so much food that I had leftovers to take home. The prices are very reasonable and no other restaurant I've eaten at in Orlando can match their prices. My waiter was awesome and the outdoor seating was priceless. I will definitely be returning.

Finally, we are coming around to the Fall season and get to enjoy reasonably cool weather in the middle of the day. This makes it the perfect time to check out Relax Grill on Lake Eola. Relax is nicely shaded and offers a great view of Lake Eola and the fun swans, geese, and ducks that inhabit it. There are several lunch specials priced at $9 and the include soda and fries or small greek salad. I opted for the grilled chicken sandwich which was good, but the relaxing view of the lake is what really makes it tasty. The service staff is friendly and my food was in front of me in no time. This is also a great place to do some lunch time people watching.

I'm a fan of Relax Grill no so much because of the food. For me, it's more about the location/atmosphere. The food isn't bad. It's average. It's also overpriced for average. What I love about this place though is, again, the location...which is indeed relaxing. It sits on Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. They have recently added an awning which cover a good portion of the seating area. They also added new seating and tables. Simply put, if it's a nice day out and you're looking for somewhere to have an outdoor lunch or dinner, this is a good pick. Just don't expect the food to be great.

Had a great evening here with the boyfriend and his sweet pit Bella. Perfect atmosphere to bring a dog. It was happy hour so my boyfriend had $2 bud lights and i had $3 house wines plus the chicken kebab platter. You definitely get your monies worth when it comes to the food. Sadly my boyfriends beer was warm and our waitress was completely inattentive or else this place would receive at least one more star.

Great location right on lake Eola. Went for lunch in middle of summer. Even as hot as it was outside, the all outdoor seating place was very cool. Lots of fans and the cover made things very nice. The food was good from start to finish. We got the loaded TOTs to start and they were outstanding. I got the southwest chicken, my wife got the fish sandwich, and our daughter got the buffalo chicken rap. We all tasted the others selections and could not believe how good they all were. Our server was always there with more drinks and just checking to see if we needed anything. The place has TV's all along the wall behind the bar and one other area over the table on the lake side. I am sure it is packed during football season. Great experience from start to finish!

Location. Location. Location and band. Now not so good news about the food. I ordered fried mushrooms to discover that some were still frozen. Come on! Fried mushrooms are not hard to make so why not make them fresh. Its bad that I dont have a good palet but to notice frozen food is all it takes to get my attention.

COASTING ON ATMOSPHERE AND LOCATION ALONE... THEY NEED TO TRY JUST A LITTLE HARDER. Enjoyed lunch here this past Sunday. As other posters have said, you can't beat the atmosphere. It's a nice spot with wonderful views of Lake Eola. The service was attentive and courteous. I think they are trying to push a Greek or Mediterranean theme on the menu... but it's really kind of halfway. The food was just average. With just a LITTLE work, a LITTLE attention to detail... I think it could be better. For example, we ordered the hummus and pita appetizer. The hummus was good... fresh and tasty. But the pita was cold and dry. Other places I've eaten will warm the pita on the grill and maybe brush a little butter or olive oil on it. It makes it softer and tastier. A much better eating experience. My wife ordered a Greek Salad, and the olives were just regular black olives. Greek kalamata olives would have been a nicer touch. And the dressing was just a regular balsamic vinaigrette. Not really a "Greek" dressing like you'd expect. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and it came with American cheese. Almost ANY other cheese would have been better - cheddar, swiss, provolone. I don't know if those were options - and the menu didn't specify American cheese. And country music was the music of choice. Doesn't really scream upscale. A Sunday brunch/lunch at a downtown city location like this would've been better served with jazz or acoustic or blues or reggae. In summary: ATMOSPHERE - excellent location, although I could see it having the potential at times to be overrun with a loud, douchy, fratty, tattooed, Affliction-clad crowd. Lose the country music and go with something more fitting of an outdoor lakeside grill, not Earl's Dive Bar. SERVICE - our server did a great job. Quick with drink refills and offered to-go cups full of beverages without having to ask. These days when places are charging upwards of $2.50 for a soft drink or tea... I expect that. FOOD - details, details, details. It would make the difference between Pale Imitation/Nothing-to-Write-Home-About and Authentic/Great. The prices were pretty high... the food could've and should've been better with just a little more effort. Their location is so great, maybe they feel like they don't have to try that hard to make the food better... but they should. I'd probably come back - but I'd hope they could shore up a couple of the deficiencies and make this 3-star into a 4-star (or 5 stars).

The best part of Relax Grill is definitely the atmosphere. It's located right on Lake Eola and shaded by some large oak trees. It was sweltering hot today, but because they have tons of huge fans pumping air - it didn't feel that bad! The menu is pretty simple and straightforward - no fancy eating here. They had a lot of sandwiches, burgers, and gyros. They also have a lunch special for $8: drink, salad or fries, and a main course. The service was quick and the waitress was pleasant. I ordered the chicken kabob and it was so so. The chicken was a little dry and not really flavorful. It came with a pretty decent "greek salad." I use that term loosely because I think it had balsamic vinagrette or italian dressing on it. It was a basically a regular salad with feta on it: hence the "greek" title. My husband had the gyro and he said it was great. So maybe I ordered the wrong thing? I'd go back and try something else. It's a nice little inexpensive place to have a relaxing lunch!

I went for lunch while visiting a friend in dowtown Orlando. This is in the Orlando business / resident area not the tourist area. Walking around the lake is nice. The restaurant is in a very nice spot overlooking the swan boats and amphitheater. At first glance this seems like a sandwich place but it was much more. I had the stirfry chicken which was very good. It had a big portion of chicken plenty of rice, and a vegetables. They serve drinks and appetizers but I did not get either. It wasn't very expensive especially for the nice spot and atmosphere. If you are in the downtown area on a nice day and are looking for an outdoor spot I would recommend it.

I hate to think that one bad experience would bring a place down a notch, but I think my latest visit to Relax justifies the downgrade. This is largely due to the fact that there were two key issues, menu confusion and poor service. Fail #1: There is an advertised happy hour special on Friday and Saturday nights. Not only is it displayed on a sandwich board located outside the café, it is also featured on the menu. It is not indicated anywhere on said sandwich board or menu that the happy hour is not offered when special events occur at Lake Eola. We had to find that out the hard way. Fail #2: Not only did I have to endure fail #1, I had to receive a shoddy explanation of the lack of happy hour from a sour waitress I can best describe as a poor man's Katy Perry. She was extremely rude - I have no idea why our questions displeased her so, we were genuinely confused and just asking for clarification. I'm usually pretty easy on the wait staff, because I understand they are busy and sometimes they are short because they are slammed, but there was no excuse for her level of attitude. This won't stop be from coming back as I am fond of the location and still appreciate any place that welcomes our four legged friends.

Relax Grill most certainly has a great environment. It looks over Lake Eola - perfect to go on a nice evening. I finally went here to eat a few weeks ago and I was really disappointed. The staff wasn't very friendly at all and even though there was only 1 other table that had people at it she gave us a hard time about picking a "larger" table when we only had 3. She even went to the extent of asking us if we were staying long because if we were we would have to move. Additionally, the food was pretty terrible. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and bleh. The chicken was extremely overcooked and chewy. The cheese was on the grill too long and was hard and chewy as well. As for the sides they give you to go with it (lettuce, sour cream, etc) they hardly give you any. Was pretty disappointed. Might hit it up for a few drinks one night considering the environment is nice. Other than that, no thanks.

The food is nothing special but the scenery is definitely worth going for! I tried the Mediterranean trio and my girlfriend had the gyros, the service was good no complaints here. I saw on the menu that if it's raining either during or after your visit you get 50% off the tab which is a good enough reason for me to return! ;]]

This place is a rare find for this type of restaurant, the location is beautiful completely outdoors overlooking scenic Lake Eola under the shade of large oak trees.. Great place to people watch and soak in the nice weather.. I have been to this restaurant twice now for lunch and have had a great experience both times.. Food is fairly good, I ordered a cheeseburger and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and thickness of the beef patty as burgers are not their speciality.. Most of their entrees have a choice of fries or greek salad which allows for a healthy option if you prefer to opt out of the fries.. I have not tried thier alcoholic drinks yet however they appear to have good drink specials and a decent selection of beer and wine.. I would highly recommend this place if your looking for a nice outdoor meal in downtown.

Each time I go back this place gets better. Hung out with family here on a recent Sunday at Lake Eola. Football, good fresh food (ok-don't order the nachos-go with their med. stuff) , cold beers, football, scenic views of lake, football, girls in shorts walking by, cold beer and did I mention the football games on? Also have been here a couple of Friday nights. Can't beat the ambiance. Service is getting better and better. Go check this place out on a Sunday. Park anywhere near Lake Eola. HIt the farmers market and crafts, walk the lake, come in here for lunch and/or drinks and enjoy the day.

This is a casual outdoor place near the farmer's market at Lake Eola. Lots of dogs on the patio which is great. The view of the lake and the outstanding people watching make this a fantastic weekend lunch spot.. The mimosas are good and reasonably priced. The food was a step above bar food fare, but it works here and was pretty good. One of the people with us said his chicken breast sandwich was bad, but my vegetarian stir fry was good, so I'll speak to that. Nicely seasoned and the rice was well done. For two meals and four drinks it cost just under $50. The server was busy (standard for the place) but was perfectly nice. Definitely a good place to go with friends for an afternoon.

The best thing about this place, is the location, and the fact that you can sit outside and enjoy the scenery. I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, and it was pretty good... but not the best. Far from it actually. But the service was good, and there is always squirrels out there wanting to be fed. pretty darn cute.

I came with my girlfriend last night at around 9:00, and they close at 9:30. The restaurant is mostly empty and everyone who is there has finished eating and is enjoying drinks/chatting. As we sat down the waitress informed us that we were just in time as they were about to close the kitchen. Score! We ordered: - Fried Mushrooms appetizer - Fish and Chips - Blackened Mahi (w/ Rice and Greek Salad). About 25 minutes go by and the waitress comes out to tell us that the chef just burned the fried mushrooms, and that was the last of them, so we had to either sub something in or go without. Okay, whatever -- mistakes happen. Although, I was a little miffed that it took 25 minutes to find this out. There's like nobody in the restaurant -- what are they doing back there? About 25 more minutes pass and we finally get our food. The fries with fish and chips were exceedingly bland, but nothing that some salt couldn't fix. I presume the fish was okay since she didn't complain about that. My blackened Mahi was very tasty and cooked well, but the rice served along with it was grossly overcooked -- about half of it was stuck together into a huge flat pancake that was inseparable without a knife. If I had tried to eat it, it would have probably broken a tooth. The rest of the rice was extremely dry, but still edible. The salad was whatever - some feta cheese drenched in balsamic, and some romaine or something. It was okay. I've been here for lunch back in November 2010, and it was actually rather good, but the food took forever to arrive during that visit, too. I figured it was a fluke, but I guess not. This was my first time here for dinner, and I don't think I'll ever do it again. The service was extremely slow (although to no fault of the waitress, she was excellent, and she kept checking on us every few minutes to see if we needed refills or anything). The food experience was NOT memorable and frankly quite embarassing for a restaurant situated on Orlando's signature landmark. I'm giving this two stars only because of the view. If you want a nice relaxing place to people watch and have food, then check this place out. Otherwise, don't bother and be saddened by the fact that a tremendously great location is being squandered by a mediocre restaurant with an incompetent, slow kitchen staff. I'd absolutely LOVE to see what's going on back there because I can't for the life of me figure out why it takes so long to prepare a menu of exceedingly simple American fare.

I only give it two stars because of the location. Horrible service. Poor quality drinks. We only had drinks and It was bad. I have no interest in going back to try their food or anything else that they might have to offer.

I am a "fan", pretty much this is apart of my Lake Eola experience every other weekend with my puppy. I think the location makes me like it something about it keeps me from lovin it but definitely if your looking for some beer and food around the lake check it out.

I don't know how Relax Grill could possibly have the review rating it does. I consider this restaurant to be one of the worst restaurants in town. That being said, this place could be so great! Relax is located right near the swan boat rental at Lake Eola. The view is well, relaxing. Not so for the food. I went to Relax with a group of eight people and I don't think any of our meals came out right. Weather it was cold (my case), was ordered without meat and came topped with bacon, or just never made it out of the kitchen, no one was satisfied. I ordered a Caesar salad and added shrimp. The salad came out with no dressing, Iceberg lettuce, about a can of black olives and the coldest, smallest, rubberiest shrimp. When I alerted the server to my plight, she whisked it away and promised to take it off the bill. It was totally left on the bill. I can imagine that it would be really nice to sit at Relax Grill and have some drinks with a great view and maybe a little live music. I will however, never eat here again.

The artist formerly known as Erik's at Eola is now called Relax Grill at Eola. Although I never got a chance to eat at Erik's, I can say with a great deal of confidence that the new owners at this magical spot are doing an excellent job. Let me paint a picture for you: a delicious meal, a beautiful lady, a glass of wine, a picturesque view of the lake, and all at prices that can fit even a cheap man's budget. That's what pushes this solid 4 star restaurant into the realm of 5 stars...the very fair prices and the incredible view and general feeling of the atmosphere. The hummus was some of the best I've had. It was had an unusual spice, which I think can be attributed to the massive amounts of garlic. The chicken kabab I ate was one of those dishes where you get elated because you can't believe that something so healthy can be so delicious. It makes you wonder why you ever eat junk food at all. The chicken was soft and spicy and came with a delicious bed of rice, pitas, and peppers. It also was kinda spicy, which I liked. The pinot noir was excellent, the service was excellent, and it was overall a great experience. I also tried some vegetarian stir fry and it was incredible. A cool side note: on Thursdays they have a movie night. Sometimes they cancel it due to inclement weather, though.

I have to admit, the first time I went to Relax Grill was a couple of months ago and my experience was not that great. Fast forward to two weeks ago, and I can happily say that my opinion has changed. I took my new puppy to walk around the lake and check out the Farmer's Market on a Sunday. We decided to stop by and get some lunch and have a beer to cool down. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I had the greek salad and it was pretty good. Definitely large enough for me to accept the price. My boyfriend had a burger and said it was really good (even though they didn't ask him how he wanted it cooked). The drinks are fairly priced and they even brought out a cold bowl of water for my puppy. All in all, a great place to stop by on a lazy Sunday.

I have eaten here before and found the food to be good, not great or memorable, but overall good, plus you can't really beat the view. What I am writing about is their Friday-Saturday $10 special. We took a couple of friends recently. The other reviews are correct in that the service is horribly slow; non-existent actually. We saw three other tables get up and leave because they were tired of waiting to be acknowledged, by anyone. I waited tables for years and I know that even if a table is not in your section if you see people getting upset or waiting a long time for menu's that you give them a menu, find out who's table it belongs to, and make the server aware. We waited for almost 20 min with no one even looking at us. It seems that there is total confusion as to who has to take a table. Finally, one of our party went to the bar where we were told that the Fri-Sat 6-8pm all you can drink special is ONLY served at the bar and you need a stamp. Not sure how they knew we were there for that reason as we could have easily been ordering off the menu. Now don't get me wrong...$10 for all you can drink Bud Light drafts and house white wine is a great deal! Still though, there should be some sign or something to let people know. Once we got set up with our beers and hand stamps we had a nice time. I really want this place to be successful as I think that Lake Eola is a wonderful place that a lot of cities don't have. It's been reported that the owner was able to secure a lease with the city for only $1,000/month rent. I just hope he understands that based on the food and service that he might have a hard time keeping customers when the lease runs out. BTW...the "buffet" that's included in the deal is pita bread and hummus and tzatziki sauce. Previously it was different salads and other offerings. Not that the pita was bad or anything, just don't think they should be advertising as a "buffet". Once again, they are missing the mark for simple stuff that could really cement them as more than just a pretty place to have a drink.

The best place about relax is the location, as most everyone else have stated. It's also nice to day drink with your dog and enjoy the view. The food is also adequate, I like to tofu stir-fry and would order it again. However, the service isn't the best. It's usually always slow and the last time I was there our server (who has been there for a long time) was incredibly rude. We were with a large group of people who were mostly drinking beer, I decided to drink wine. I had ordered another glass and 20 mins later she came back to check on the table and realized she forgot my glass. Left, and came back with no wine! At that point I told her nevermind because everyone else was done and ready to leave. She could sense my attitude and gave it right back to me, then came to apologize. I hope this was an isolated incident, and I understand everyone has a bad day, but if you make your living on tips you got to be up to par.

I was here one night when they had a $15 all you can drink plus food. The food was great, the drinks yummy & there was a really good band playing that night. I went here on a first date & we had a really good time together.

After round 2 at Relax Grill, I can definitely say it's a worthwhile restaurant that I hope will stick around. A group of us decided to make an evening there out of dinner, pitchers and the Magic game. Unfortunately the Magic lost but our time there was a hit. The service, though slower than we would have liked because they were slammed, was great. So keep that in mind if you are in a hurry; they would rather you "relax" than turn your table around. The chicken nachos were stellar and included a pico de gallo that was marvelous and looked homemade. From what I saw and heard, the steak sandwich was a knockout and my baked Tilapia was very tasty. The rice was a bit dry but the veggies and greek salad that came with it were all very good. The only dissatisfaction among our group was on the part of the chicken fingers. They were described as, "really big Chicken Nuggets." And of course we had to split the cookie ice cream sandwich again. This time the cookies were chocolate chunk and equally as delicious.

My wife and I have fallen in love with this place. It offers a great menu at a great price. On Wednesdays, they show recent movies on a big screen on the patio. So it's a great place for a date - dinner and a movie for 2 for around $25. And you can bring your dog!

We're here right now and we're coming back tonight! Hells yes this place rocks! I can't boast about this place enough. The laid back atmosphere makes me totally feel like i'm on vacation. The food is what I expected but they garnish it very nicely and the beer selection is small but great. check out more of my stuff: jetpacksandrollerskates.… | twitter.com/blakestevens…

When the weather is great outside, this is the perfect place to visit during lunch in downtown. Great service and delicious food. I love how this place has changed in the last year.

great mixed apps and food, and a great atmosphere. Kind of stinks that they are so subject to the weather, but if you can get there and the weather is nice, then enjoy it.

On a nice day you can't beat this place to relax for happy hour. The view is great and the atmosphere is chill. They have a good selection of bottled beers and even a few on tap. Not bad for being the only bar literally ON Lake Eola.

Katherine was our server on a busy saturday at happy hour. She did a great job with a smile. We ordered the special, blackend shrimp quesidillas and grilled shrimp. Both very good. Wonderful weather and view. Great for people watching. We will be back.
