Went here on a whim after trying to decide what to eat. Remembering the delicious Chicken, Wings, and Ribs combo I've had before got me excited. There were very few people eating and nobody in line when I made my way inside, however, as I placed my order, I was told that it would take 5 minutes for the ribs, which were worth the wait because they were falling-off-the-bone delicious. Both the wings (which were spiced with a jerk-style seasoning) and the chicken (thigh-I think) were equally as tender and juicy. My two sides were a creamy white cheddar mac and cheese which was MUCH improved over the yellow glop they used to serve, and a Caesar salad, which unfortunately wasn't as flavorful as I remembered. I almost feel though, that I can't fault them for having a bad salad, because who goes to a Latin/Caribbean restaurant and orders Caesar salad anyway? Well, except for me. Next time I'll get the balsamic tomatoes or rice and beans. The sauce bar has the same great sauces. My favorites are the guava barbeque, curry mustard, and spicy poyo poyo. This location has yet to adopt the trendy Coke Freestyle machine so drink choices are somewhat limited to the classic fountain drinks, which meant I ended up getting water. This was probably a good idea as the price for the meal was a somewhat staggering $9.29. This became less of an issue which each bite of deliciousness that I encountered, however. It also was nice to see some of that money being put towards the updated decor. The chairs are extremely comfortable to sit in and it gives it a nice upgraded feel from the typical fast food places. This is definitely a place to go when you're looking for delicious, fresh, healthier options. Just don't expect to get it cheap.

I love Pollo tropical from my time in Miami, and I was overjoyed to find one in Orlando as well. You get fresh chicken made to order at an incredibly low price. Eating a full meal for under $5 is not bad especially when it tastes this good. The sauces are fantastic. I'm a big fan of the curry mustard and the cilantro garlic ones. If you're looking for a quick bite, stop by. They have a drive-thru too!

I love this place, but lately the service has been weak, and today it was awful. Typically when a customer walks in and waits at the register for 5 minutes (felt like much longer) an employee should maybe say something like "be with you in a minute" or a greeting of some sort. I got nothing. Huge lack of communication here and nobody cares.

I'm a huge Edy's fan, but this place's Peruvian chicken is pretty tasty. I really like their yellow sauce, as it is thick and creamy. A great place to stop by if you're craving for some 'healther' options in terms of a roasted chicken! +yummy Peruvian chicken +thick aji sauce :D

I've probably eaten here a hundred times now over several years. It's a great option for fairly healthy fast food so it's my go-to choice when on the run! Especially after the gym and it's already late. The upsides? The staff is almost always sweet and kind and trying hard. The price is absolutely fair. The spices used on the chicken are darn good. The meat can sometimes be kind of dry but it's grilled so you have to expect that up to a point. The sides are tasty and I love having choices of caesar salad, green beans, mac and cheese, plantains and such. And the pork is darn good when you feel like less something salty and less than healthy. The outside dining area is great if you want to bring the dog. If it weren't for the severity of the downsides, I'd give 'em 4 and maybe even 5 stars. The place has never been organized and watching the staff run around and over top of each other screams of poor management and no real system. You have to check every take-out/drive-thru order because there's a better than average chance something will be wrong. The cleanliness of the dining room is always sub-par. Floors, chairs, booths, soda fountain, and condiment bar are all routinely grubby. Not to mention the bathroom. So if you're cool with chilling out while waiting for what you thought was 'fast' food, wiping your own table, and checking your order if you're on the run, it's tasty, healthier than usual feeling, and a good value.

I try and stay clear of fast food drive through's and this is exactly why. The menu is busy and they are ready to take your order - are you ready? - do you have questions? ...Give a girl a minute! I ordered from the children's menu because i was not that hungry. Grilled chicken and tostones. What I got were tasteless plantains and instead of grilled chicken I got 2 greasy pieces of chicken, a leg and a thigh. I was too far down the road when i realized what I had and I was in no mood to go back and complain. Just won't ever go back!

I want to like this place, I really do, but they always find a way to disappoint me since the initial meal I ate there where I only tried yuca bites which were great. The meat always seems to be overcooked/really dry but the flavors can be good, and they never seem to get my order right and they aren't even really busy when we come. Today was no different. Ordered for lunch today with office, thinking again maybe will be different and the rest of the office wanted it. I ordered chicken and ribs, with mashed potatoes and green beans, and a side of yuca fries. Easy, right? No one here ordered anything special or 'leave this off' or anything of the sort. They had to repeat the order in the drive thru 5 times-5 TIMES! And they weren't friendly at all/seemed to snap back at us when trying to order. There was no one else in line and again, it wasn't anything special ordered. Finally they put it in and the person who ordered brings it back to the office, not much time to check as she needs to get back. Everyone had at LEAST one thing incorrect on their order. My ribs, they crunched when I bit into them, the chicken, tough as leather. They gave me the wrong sides, and the yuca fries I have come to love- tasted stale as if they had been in there all day. I thought I would ask for extra sauce from what comes with it to offset the possibility of it being dry, as I do like the flavors they have. Not only did they not give us extra sauce, but none at all! It's bad because this could be such a good restaurant, with healthy choices and a wide variety of options to chose from, but it is not worth the money in my opinion. I would strongly recommend against eating here, as there are way to many other better options out there.

Having moved to Florida, I'm definitely experiencing different restaurants and entertainment venues that don't exist in New Jersey. Pollo Tropical is one of those new experiences, since New Jersey doesn't have this franchise. When I came here for the first time, I didn't know what the restaurant would offer that'd be different from KFC or Popeye's. I was pleasantly surprised to know they serve Caribbean food because it's something different for a "fast food restaurant". I put that in quotes because Pollo Tropical offers genuinely healthier fare than its competitors. I had the guava BBQ chicken salad. I love that and the guava BBQ sauce! It's more common now for restaurants to offer nutritional facts -- calorie count, sodium percentage, etc. The Pollo Tropical website actually gives advice on healthy eating. It also has the 21-Day Meal Plan. This tells me it's more concerned than its competitors about its patrons' health. I know that's basically the individual's job, but at least Pollo Tropical is helpful and motivating. Other restaurants say they mind their patrons' health, all the while knowingly and backhandedly serving mostly junk.

As a law student I'm in desperate need for quick meals and after about 3 days I can no longer handle fast food... when I get to that point I will go out of my way by some 20 minutes to get the best thing to happen to the drive through!! Their grilled pork is bomb! Crazy authentic taste, add some sweet plantains, white rice and beans and I'm good to go! Plus for a limited time their receipts include a survey good for a buy-one-get-one deal!

They finally remodeled the interior and the tables and interior looked clean! Glad to see the updates and I hope they will continue to maintain a clean interior.

I adore Pollo Tropical as a brand. It's my preferred "fast food" stop, and I'm always happy to drop by and get a snack. Also, curry mustard. It's amazing. This location is not my absolute favorite, but I still like it. Many Pollo Tropical's provide a very pleasant dine-in experience. This Pollo drops the ball a little bit. I'm not sure if this was a one time thing, or just how they handle it at this location, but I wasn't thrilled. Most Pollo's provide real plates and silverware to their dine-in customers. They are also usually very helpful and friendly. At this location, we were given the cheap plastic utensils in the little plastic packs. They were extremely flimsy and not really strong enough to cut through the chicken. Also, the server never came back to check on us after he dropped off the food. At most Pollo's, someone usually comes back by to see if you need anything. The food itself also took a fairly long time to get to the table. This was also fairly unusual. The food was good, and the restaurant was clean. However, the dine-in experience was not a good as it should be for this chain. Additionally, the staff, while reasonably polite, was not really attentive. Overall, I still recommend dropping by if you're in the mood. However, I'd recommend placing a "to-go" order or using the drive-thru.

Unbelievably filthy. 9:30 PM. Sticky floors, overflowing trash cans, sauce station had spilled sauce everywhere, food particles all over counter. I couldn't believe the condition of this location. I have never seen it so dirty. It's a shame because Pollo Tropical food is a family favorite. I can not see us going there again if something isn't done. The employees behind the counter need retraining immediately.

Worst Pollo Tropical I've ever been to. Waited almost 10 minutes to order because the cashier and manager couldn't get an order right for another employee. People behind me in line left. 6 people in the grill area standing yet the place was filthy, there was no ice, no ice tea, all the sodas were flat, unbelievable. The food was good but i won't come back to this store. Manager seemed clueless.

This location is really clean and organized compared to two others I have visited. The food is good for fast food and definitely is a place I gravitate toward.

Looking for KFC....turn around now! Do Pollo instead, much better quality chicken and healthier! I have only tasted the grilled chicken so can't say much about anything else there but with $9.99 coupon for family meal you get a ton of good food! Oh and love the sauces, especially the guava bbq sauce and curry mustard. Try them all, they spice up the chicken nicely. I see some good reviews on the fried yucca so will have to try that out!

Overall I thought it was very good. This was my first time to Pollo Tropical. I had the combo with ribs, chicken and wings. The wings were ok but I guess I'm more of a fried wings fan. The chicken was very good and so were the rice and beans. The location was fairly clean and the food was served rather quickly. The weather was nice so we sat outside. I appreciate the restaurants that actually have decent seating outside.

I like this place, I really do. I don't think I could ever love this place due to the fact that all their food has that kind of mass produced taste. You know, that kind of lingering flavor that comes along with food being prepared by people without culinary training (basically the same with all fast food in my opinion)? I've been here a few times and their stuff is good. The sauce bar is where it's at when it's not all dirty (I get flashbacks of Golden Corral). The last time I was there, they were out of their sweetened mango tea...not very tropical Pollo Tropical! All in all, if you're looking for a quick meal and want to avoid burgers...give this place a shot (at least this location).

Pollo Tropical is one of those places like Taco Bell, yet in a totally different way. Sure, its fast food, but you don't feel quite as guilty for being there. The sauces are out of this world. Usually the garlic mayo/ranch is great, but the curry mustard caught my eye this go-around. Not bad. For a night that you don't feel like cooking, the simple vegetarian black beans & rice with corn does the trick. No cleanup required.

I was never really a big fan of this chain before, but I have to give Pollo Tropical props for their guava BBQ sauce and the curry (yellow) sauce they provide. Even better, the Guave BBQ pulled pork sandwich. THe Yuca fries and plaintains are pretty tasty as well. So iGuess you can say that I'm growing to like this chain! LoL

I finally had to break and eat here because my boyfriend forced me. It was cheap, but to be 100% honest, I would rather spend the $2 extra and go to Chipotle. Yes, a college student would rather spend more. Wait, a college student who cares about what they ingest too?! Yeah, I ended up just getting a bowl of brown rice, black beans, sautéed onions and a little cheese. They did not drain the black beans before they put them on so my whole bowl was like soup; Not very appetizing. I dealt with it because they were rather busy. I tried the garlic and cilantro cream sauce and it was great! I ended up making my 'healthy' dish unhealthy by how much I used. I tried my boyfriends chicken and it was not bad at all. It is hard for me to stomach fast food meat, or even meat at a nice restaurant, but it was cooked perfectly and the quality of the chicken was better than most sports bars. The seasoning tasted like plain rosemary rub; Not good, not bad. The best part was the wonderful young lady who was the cashier! I wish I caught her name, but she was shorter, olive skin, brunette, gold earrings and younger than me! Goodness, she had the greatest customer service; When they were busy she was overly nice to customers who did not deserve it. Her smile filled the room; She was a complete sweetheart and should get a raise if the owners see this!

This place is quick, delicious, fresh, and inexpensive! I love coming here for a quick lunch because I can always count on having left overs for the next day and saving a few bucks. Their "make your own bowl" is only 4.99 with a drink! It's a nice change up to your average fast food or sub joint.

This location is my favorite "go-to" for lunch. I love the pork and black bean combo. I'm really impressed with the restaurant management. The food at lunch time always seems fresh, the staff is friendly and it's clean! I quit going to the W Colonial location because I just felt like I shouldn't touch anything - really yucky! And yes, the creamy cilantro sauce is AWESOME! I agree with the other review by Stacy H about the sauce - i put it on the pork and dip the fried yucca in it - yummm! i'll try to leave some for the rest of you :)

I am NOT a fast food person, but out of all the chains, this is one of the best & healthiest. Actually, their sides are what gives them the 3 stars. Definitely a variety & different than the every day norm. Honestly, when I come here, I just get a large order of fried yuca & balsamic tomatoes. YUM! All their sides are killer, actually. IMO, the entrees are OK. Good for fast food, I suppose. I like how all their meat is grilled fresh in front of you, Im just not a meat person (rice, either) The best entree Ive had here is the fajitas. Very cheap, very tasty, fills ya up. I LOVE THEIR CILANTRO GARLIC SAUCE, OMG! I put this on anything & everything I order from here. Love places that have a sauce & salsa bar. Im such a saucy gal ;) & last but not least, the best thing in the whole place: The Tres Leches! Not gonna lie, I have no idea what a Tres Leches is supposed to taste like, Im certain that this is just the fast food version, but holy moly. This is literally my most fav dessert ever. 4 out of 5 of my stops here, are a tres leches stop. I love all the employees at this location, their always so friendly & helpful!

Many locations in Central and South Florida. Check the website. I normally do not recommend fast food or chain restaurants, but I have to make an exception here. For the last five years I worked as a road warrior, and I covered Florida from Orlando south to Homestead.I learned that no matter where you are at the end of a long, hard day you can always get good food for a small price at Pollo. And as an added plus, the person taking your order usually speaks pretty good English. As road food goes, Pollo Tropical is hard to beat. Its tasty, cheap, and fairly healthy since the meat is cooked on a grill, and almost nothings fried. Order the 1/4 chicken value meal with black beans and rice, $3.99 for a leg quarter, $4.99 for breast and wing. [prices, of course, are subject to change.] Then walk over to the condiment bar and add as much fresh salsa and chopped onions as you like. And I LIKE tomatoes! They have a nice mustard curry sauce for the grilled chicken, but its already so tasty and moist it really needs no sauce. The only complaint I have is that if you choose to dine in, its very noisy around dinnertime.
