Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Ha! I found it! Third time is a charm. Google puts it on the main strip in front and so does Garmin. Anyway, it is in back at "The Patio" next to the movie theater. I was actually going to have some Chinese, to my astonishment I ran into this place. Chinese was off the menu. The pizza looked good with several pies to choose from. They have daily lunch specials which are cheaper. I opted for a sausage Stromboli. It was good for $6.50. A few dollars off the usual price. The dinning area is not very large with only a hand full of chairs and tables inside and a few tables outside. About the same amount of seating for each. I wouldn't recommend this for large groups or rainy days. They do cater, but do not deliver. Yup, gotta get off the couch, but if you want to stay on the couch call (or order online) Papa John's.

I had a cheese pizza and a garden salad today for lunch. It was really good! I don't like too much sauce so it tasted great. They have a point system so after you accumulate 10 points you get a free slice of pizza and a drink. You get a point for every visit. You just give them your phone number every time you go in. Also their Grandma Sicilian is the best!!

What a truly good pizza place. I stopped here at Pizzeria Valdiano in Waterford Lakes because of some recommendations I had heard... And I was sure glad I did! Valdiano's differs from most Pizza places because they're not advertising themselves as "serving true NY pizza" or anything along those lines. This pizza place is just a simple Italian restaurant that prides itself on making a good slice... And it proudly succeeds in doing so. Many pizza places you go to will serve slice similar to that of Sbarros, cheap taste and soggy crust, but you can really taste the difference in the cheese and dough that Valdiano's uses. I've had some good (and some very bad) pizza in my life and Valdiano's definitely comes out on top!

Had a chance to go after over 6 months. Still great pizza, they have a new menu board. You can get a 20 inch cheese slice for $2.25. I actually rather buy by the slice because you get a big slice, the menu shows they sell 16 inch. Not sure they will sell larger pies.

I had high hopes for the pizza at this restaurant. Being from up north (CT/NY) it is very difficult down here to find good pizza. I have lived here for 5 years and have tested many of the "New York" pizza places here in Orlando with mixed results. That being said I went off of the reviews here on Yelp that this was "authentic New York style pizza in Orlando." I convinced my wife to try this place with me due to the glowing reviews on yelp. She is from the Bronx and just like myself, knows what New York style pizza should be and taste like. That being said we arrived at the location in Waterford Lakes yesterday afternoon. I was a bit put off by the fact that the place was dirty. There was a piece of old pizza stuck to the floor under our table. The floor was dirty and so where the tables. Although I would normally turn around leave, I was convinced the pizza would vindicate itself. My wife ordered a slice of Sicilian and I ordered a large cheese pie for myself and my kids. I finally thought to myself, "I finally found good pizza!" I was far from happy with what came out to our table. This was NOT NY style pizza. The sauce was bland, even with garlic salt. The slices were small. Even my wife's sicilian slice was bland. The only reason why I even ate the pizza was because I was starving and I had not eaten all day. Had that not been the case I would have sent it back and asked for my money back. Even for Orlando it was poor pizza. Take into consideration the lack of being clean and the poor pizza it was not a great experience. The salad and dinner roll were the only 2 things I actually enjoyed. If are in the Waterford Lakes Shopping Plaza and want a slice of pizza this will due or Pizza Hut. It is not the best in Orlando, nor in Waterford Lakes/Avalon area. This is just an honest review and my opinion. I go into all of these places that have awards for "Best Pizza in Orlando." It usually ends up being average at best. So if you really want NY pizza, this isn't the place for you. I will not be visiting this establishment again.

This is the closest I've come to authentic New York style pizza in Orlando. You can order by the slice or by the pie. Their only downfalls are they don't deliver and that there is limited seating.

A little pricey, but always delicious. Best pizza in the Waterford Lakes/Avalon area for sure, and probably the best we've had in all of Orlando. Definitely try the Grandmas Sicilian..yum!

Was hesitant to eat here because I thought it would just be yet another mediocre mall pizzeria. Gave them the chance and ordered some delivery and the pizza was actually very very good. Some of the best pizza you can get around this area.

I have to admit that I refused to eat at this pizzeria for the longest time because I am very, very picky about my pizza and thought for sure that theirs would be overly greasy, salty and soggy. However, after hearing my friends rave about how awesome it is I caved and ate a slice of their veggie pizza...and I was pleasantly surprised. As is usual, there were many choices of pizza to choose from, some with lots of cheese and toppings, some with a white sauce instead of a red one and some of them stuffed. There were regular, everyday pizzas and then there were specialty pizzas which change every so often. Plus, there were various pasta dishes and desserts to end your meal on a sweet note. The service was average...teenagers who are only courteous to their friends and care only about their paycheck and that's it. Prices are not bad and their pizza tastes far superior to some of the other chains in town. Overall, I had a good experience and I will go back when those pizza cravings hit.

INCOMPETENT STAFF AND NOW I MUST DISPUTE A FRAUD CHARGE! I attempted to order a pizza for delivery this past weekend. The phone staff was very distracted and I had to repeat the name of the address several times. He called back stating I lived to far and delivery was not possible, I live 2.5 miles away. Later, a manager called asking if I would be willing to keep my order and stated he entered the address wrong in their system. I said no, I did not want to deal with it. The manager assured me that my credit card authorization charge would be voided. Apparently, they cannot properly cancel a charge and it went into finalized transaction this morning. So, not only did I not get the pizza but I wasted time on the phone their incompetent staff plus now must call my bank to dispute this charge. I am so angry!

I am pretty disappointed with the service we had at Pizzeria Valdiano. We were hoping to pick up a quick pizza to go, but it ended up being a 25 minute wait for a cheese pizza and a meatball sub. (Even though there were only a couple other customers the whole time we were there.) To make matters worse, when we got home we found the sub was actually chicken parm, and not meatball. My husband actually drove all the way back to get the correct sub. The food was good, but I'll never order take-out here again.

The pizza was ok. I came in on Wednesday and got a slice of the day that included Pepperoni, red onion, what was either goat cheese or feta, and black olives. I thought it was pretty good at $2.75, the only thing I thought was that the tomato sauce was a bit too acidic. I also had a slice of the Bianca and the description said it has ricotta cheese and I swear that I didn't see it or at least there wasn't enough for me to pick up on it. (See Pic) Like I said before; it was ok, that's it.

this place makes some very good pizza. I like to stop in for a slice or two when I am in the area. They have several locations around town. they take your order at the counter and serve it up quickly.

  • Dave B.

Love the pizza and I love the lunch deal. 2 slices and a drink for less than $7 is a great deal and when you consider how good the pizza is, it's perfect. Great place to stop by and grab a quick lunch. I will keep coming back.

It has been a struggle to find good pizza in Orlando, but Valdiano definitely has it! The one thing that I truly miss about my roots in Brooklyn is the pizza. It has been so difficult to find places that can come close to the mediocre places in NY. But this was a breath of fresh air. The sauce is delicious, The crust is thin, and a little crispy. I love a regular cheese slice, no toppings to disguise the deliciousness of the pizza. My only complaint is that it is closer to home.

  • Charles S.

We walked in for a quick slice of pizza before our movie. It's located just across the street from the Waterford lakes cinema. There's a nice selection of pizzas ready by the slice. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the pizza especially the crispy crust. The place isn't much to look at, very basic, but I'll go back for a slice of pizza before or after my next movie.

I haven't had a wide variety of items from Pizzeria Valdiano I'll admit. I have stopped by occasionally over the last several years to get a slice or two when I happen to be in the area, but it's never really been on my radar. When I've thought, "I want pizza," I never really thought of this place as the solution. That has changed. I came in a while back with my wife to try the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and by the time we were done eating, we agreed that it was up there among the best pizzas of that type that we've had. As good (in my opinion) as the one offered by Mellow Mushroom, but a full $5 cheaper (in my wife's opinion, the Valdiano version trumps the MM version, no question). I like the bread knots, but I'd prefer full-fledged garlic knots. Throw some fresh minced garlic on there! You could probably have the best garlic knots in town if you tried to! Friendly guys working every time I'm in there, and hey! You can order your pizza straight from Yelp, pay online, and just head down there and walk out with it. Couldn't be easier. I can't eat pizza as often as I'd like to, because if I did I'd be fat(ter). But honestly, Pizzeria Valdiano managed to quickly go from an afterthought to my first thought when it's time to treat ourselves to a pie.

As a fellow award winning pizza shop Tomasinos employee, i can confirm this is great pizza. Great crisp in the dough. Better than Mellow Mushroom, but #2 compared to Tomasino's. No bias against great pizza though

Good food. Unwelcoming staff. When asking the cashier about the items we were answered in a very demeaning tone. Felt very unwelcome by entire staff. Not very much room to sit.

Quite tasty pizza, ravioli & garlic knots. Vegetarian Pizza is phenomenal, perfect mix of veggies. Cheese ravioli approved by the pickiest 11y/o. Knots were perfectly seasoned. Not too much garlic. Will definitely add to the rotation list of fav food places we frequent.

I love this place, we have been coming here for 7 years, & have never been disappointed!! The prices are very reasonable, & I've always found the staff to be friendly & welcoming. My favorite is the Bianca & the garlic knots. But you can't go wrong with the calzones & Stromboli either!!

  • Lmp C.

I used to come here all the time, but the last few times I went the pizza has been over cooked and a single slice has been really small. Kinda a bummer since this was one of my favorite places for a quick slice.

The best pizza I have had since moving to Orlando. I'm glad I live walking distance away or my Pizzeria Valdiano cravings might get the best of me.

  • Rachel S.

The pizza taste good, but the staff is not very friendly. I came in yesterday and ordered a calzone, but the cashier didn't even say hello or smile. Calzone was greasy, and overpriced. Cashier did not thank me for my order and I left there feeling unwelcome.

  • Samantha Z.

First time here and it was pretty good. The cheese slice I got didn't have as much cheese as I would like but that's just my opinion. My boyfriend got the Blanca slice and a side said and the pizza was delicious but the side salad wasn't worth the almost $4. But other than that I enjoyed it and I would go back.

    (4)
  • Gerald H.

This is some nasty pizza. An empty restaurant was for a reason. At almost $4 a slice might as well go to chuck-e-cheese for pizza.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
