People have told me over and over "you're gonna LOVE this place, can't believe you've never been there" Well, now I've been there twice, and I'm downright CONFUSED why it's in business. Could I have some ramen with that salt, please?! Some curry in my coconut curry?! Right down the street there's a myriad of Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai, and yes, Fusion joints that aren't trying to give you a heart attack with your sauteed vegetables. What made them invisible? Oh, they don't have the trendy decor and the flashy interactive menu sign inside... The one star is for the staff. They seemed like good people. Guy who handed me my take out today was friendly. But I wouldn't feed this food to a dog.

I love me some Pei Wei. They are run by the same company that brought us P.F. Changs. I used to love PF Changs, but occasionally I'd be deterred from eating there because they are a little more pricey. Then I discovered Pei Wei and my "Pan Asian" cravings were satisfied. They serve a few of the same dishes that PF Changs does; in smaller portions and for a better price. They have the popular Minced Chicken and Cool Lettuce wraps - which taste exactly as their more expensive counterparts. I am a huge fan of their bowls, which start at just $6.95. They have a lot of options but I would highly recommend the Teriyaki bowl... it is phenomenal! They also offer Signature dishes (all for under 10 bucks), including the Pei Wei Spicy Chicken - which is Pei Wei's version of Changs Spicy Chicken. It's excellent as well... the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. The location is kind of small and it gets quite crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. If you're looking for a satisfying meal for under $10 a person, head to Pei Wei!

I really like this place even though it is a chain. The menu choices are mostly very good and I like the entire concept of the place. You can come in and get a nice meal pretty quickly and eat in a nice environment. The prices are very reasonable.

After giving them a few more chances, I've decided that Pei Wei is better than my initial 3-star review. I think now that I've found a few dishes that I do really like, it's really dependable! Hot & Sour soup is always soooo yummy when I don't feel well! (like today.)

Pei Wei is my "old standby". :-) It's owned by PF Changs, and has some of the same types of items on their menu. The concept is simple, you choose the type of meat and the type of preparation. Nearly everything I've had is very good. After a brief hiatus, they brought back the Won Ton Soup (one of my favorites), and it is now Thai Won Ton Soup. It's still delicious (they make some of the BEST won-ton soup around - with spinach in the broth (delicious!). It's a great restaurant with great prices. I always tell people to try Pei Wei!

I'm a regular. A quicker, cheaper, more convenient version of PF Changs. Great ingredients, good price, and clean/fresh flavors. Highly recommended restaurant to the gluten-free diets out there. This place gets busy at certain times, but that is probably a good sign.

Great Food, Great Price and Quick!!! Oh, and a Cool Environment!! We love the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Crab Wontons, Kung Pao Chicken, Ginger Brocoli and Beef and countless other dishes. I love the call ahead process too, they have your number saved and they can bring up your last order quickly. Again, Cant say enough good things about this place. All the locations in Orlando are Great!!

Inside dining is noisy due to the decor having all hard surfaces. There were lots of tables available after the lunch rush but none of them were clean so we had to sit at a dirty one. When the meals were delivered the server didn't offer to clean off the detritus, either, so we had to do that ourselves with the napkins he provided. The flavor of our meals were okay, but really nothing special. Mostly what you get for your money here is a fairly well done small entree set atop a huge mound of rice or lo mein noodles. Not a great value compared with non-chain Asian restaurants. We won't bother with this place again.

I've been there twice. We ordered Thai Coconuts Curry, Mongolian, and Mandarin Kung Pao. They were good. They have many kind of rice like white, brown, vegetable...don't remember the rest... I ordered Brown rice; i had no idea what was in it, but it was good. Well, prices are reasonable and overall we liked their dishes. We decided to sit outside and Mosquito bit me both times. I know it wasn't Pei Wei's fault, so I'll be back. What does Pei Wei mean? Is it Vietnamese? Anyway, we always make a joke like ""Let's go to "Pay your waaaay!"""whenever we go there .... So I'm just curious the real meaning of it. Yeah, ok, i'll shutting up now. :-P

I stumbled upon Pei Wei one fortunate afternoon with a colleague and delightfully discovered that I could have Asian cuisine that mimicked PF Changs taste-bud stimulating food at a fraction of the cost. Now, I am a frequent patron of Pei Wei due to my boyfriend's love of their food even though he's not an Asian cuisine fan in the least. The flavors are rich and savory. The taste - a nice change from traditional Asian cuisine. I've managed to try most of the menu items and can't say that I've had anything that was below super-yummy. You can't go wrong there. Their new ramen noodles are exquisite. To say they put packaged ramen noodles to shame is a dire understatement. If you're driving down Colonial with a rumbling tummy, I highly recommend swinging by Pei Wei for some taste-bud satiating food. Your taste-buds will thank you for it.

Ya know....there's nothing here that was bad but.....it's just not that great. With little Viet Nam so close by I think you could do better. The Pad Thai didn't have the right sweet-tart quality, The lettuce wraps were not as good as PF's. The Fresh Vietnamese spring rolls not as good as you can get, but nothing was bad. Not too oily, not unpleasant tasting in any way and the prices were reasonable. But like I said there are other places so close that can deliver the real thing, look for them! Also the place was really loud. If you're there with a group it could be a little tough to hear the other end of the table.

I'm giving the bump up to 3 for a few reasons. First, like their mother ship P.F Changs, they offer a wheat\gluten free menu. That is just awesome. Thank you for that Pei Wei. Second, while it's definitely not the most authentic place, it does deliver consistently tasty food. Finally, I dig that they offer brown vs white rice. Very nice.

It's fast. It's easy. It's relatively cheap. I have only eaten 2 or 3 dishes overall none of the other items sound interesting. They have Signature Dishes (predetermined flavor combinations) in which you choose the protein. Shrimp $9, Beef $8, Chicken $8, and Vegetables and Tofu $7. 11 different flavors to choose from. My favorite is the Mongolian with Beef sub noodles. The dish overall has a salty sweet flavor with big chunks of stir fried beef intertwined with mushrooms and green onion. They also have Rice and Noodle Bowls for $7. With offerings of Lo Mein, Fried Rice, and the Like. Overall, this place is OK if you know what you are getting yourself into. You are eating in a chain restaurant who is serving Americanized/Bastardized Asian food. The food is hot, fast, and cheap. A good place to go when you don't feel like cooking, don't have much money, and you don't feel like eating heat lamp burgers.

I don't care if the yelp hipsters don't like chain restaurants. Pei Wei serves good quality Asian food at a good price and a great atmosphere.

I haven't purchased a bad entree from this place yet. Unlike other places, I like being able to switch meats or go vegetarian if I choose. An added plus are those smaller entrees they have like the black bean chicken. Perfect for when you're hungry but not that hungry..

Pei Wei is apparently a chain of noodle restaurants from the people behind P.F. Chang's. There is a carry-out counter as well as the dining room. Customers order at the counter, and food is brought out (and later bussed) by servers. The dining room is fairly nice at first glance, with low lighting and wood everywhere, but the tables are quite close together. The sound of woks is constant from the open kitchen, but I suppose that adds to the noodle bar atmosphere. The food is pan-Asian, with half dozen types of noodle bowls: Chinese Dan Dan Noodles, Japanese Udon, Pad Thai, etc. In addition, typical Chinese-American dishes are available; I saw fried chicken in the ubiquitous orange sauce delivered to the table next to mine. My Pad Thai was tasty enough--crisp vegetables, good firm tofu--but had a sort of mass-produced taste that was reminiscent of some of the better microwaveable noodle bowls I've had. Prices are quite reasonable (entrees $7-$11), and there are a couple of Chinese beers as well as wine available. I can best sum up Pei Wei by saying this: It is the Panera Bread of asian food. It's affordable, fast and surprisingly upscale for a storefront chain. But I won't be going back for chain restaurant noodles a block from Viet Town; I'm sure there is something better in the area.

I try not to review fast food places, or chain restaurants because they're usually all the same, but, I had to review the spectacular service I got at the Colonial Mills location of Pei Wei. Yes, the food is good, I mean its from the makers of PF Changs, except cheaper. You can't go wrong with their lettuce wraps & fried rice... portions are enough to split, and the menu has a nice variety. They are also flexible with food substitutions, and even have low carb and healthier options. This isn't specified on the menu, but, our Order Taker was very knowledgeable, and informed us of these options. There Thai dynamite is my all time fave (not spicy at all) with edamame to start. Even though you don't have a designated server, there wasn't a shortage of employees stopping by to check on us, get us anything we were missing, and providing proactive service with a smile. I'm not sure what the training is like @ Pei Wei, but, they are doing something right!

I honestly believe Pei Wei is leaps and bounds better than PF Changes. First off it is much cheaper for basically the same thing. Second off the portions are huge for the buck. Third off its easy and quick. Fourth off, the staff ensures you really enjoyed your meal. Every meal I have ever ate at Pei Wei was amazing. The food was always fresh, seasoned nicely and served pretty quickly after ordered. My favorite was the spicy beef noodles, I don't recall the exact name, but it was off the hook! I have tried many dishes at Pei Wei and everything was always great! The crab rangoons are A+ and the hot & sour soup was one of the best I have ever tried. Lately they have been closing locations up north and I hope some stay open. The free refills & free fortune cookies are a nice touch as well. I don't see why so many people would hate on such a solid establishment.

Pf Changs off broadway. Really good fresh food in a casual setting. Everything I tried was good. Would come here again. Plus they have giant cans of Kirin Beer!

Pei Wei is good for fast food asian and that's about it. Being right there on the East Colonial / 17-92 corridor, really it should be an easier decision to get better asian authentic asian food. The only good thing is that's it's fast. For the same prices down the street, one can get a feast of really good food BUT like I said, Pei Wei is good for getting in and out fast. This Pei Wei is generally pretty clean and food orders have been solid.

Not great, pretty close to bad. The rice noodles were hard and there was a piece of bone in my chicken lettuce wraps. I will not be going back.

  • Lonna G.

Didn't like Pei Wei, its a low budget version of PF Chang's, so the food here is also lacking in flavor and originality. If authenticity is not a concern, by all means, give Pei Wei a try.

  • Nathan R.

While I do love me some P.F. Changs, I much prefer Pei Wei over it any day of the week. Pei Wei is owned by the same people who bring you the delicious goodness that is P.F. Changs, but they offer a tad bit smaller portions at a more reasonable price. The portions may be smaller. but they are still quite large. I most often find myself taking leftovers home. I usually go with the Orange Peel Chicken, which has a deliciously tangy orange flavor. They have great spring rolls, and the Pei Wei Spicy chicken is nice and spicy, just the way I like it. One of my favorite things about this place is they offer Chai Tea, as well as all the fortune cookies your stomach could handle.

Cutting to the chase on this place: This place is owned by the same company who owns PF Changs which is why the concept and menu are somewhat cheaper. The difference, however, is that Pei Wei is cheaper and not quite as formal as the latter. The food is quite yummy and the menu is simple...pretty self explanatory too. My faves to indulge in are the chicken lettuce wraps, chicken chopped salad and the ginger chicken with broccoli served with brown rice. However, I've tried just about everything on the menu at least once and I can't say that I dislike any of it. Their teas are not the usual black unsweet and sweetened. Instead they consist of a green tea, mandarin orange concoction and a chai tea. Plus, they have beer and wine. Service is pretty good and quick at that. You order your food at the front counter and pay, then take a seat wherever you'd like or at whatever table is open. Your food is brought out to you by one of the servers. A few things that are not so good about this particular location...it's not very big and gets EXTREMELY crowded at night and on the weekends making it hard to find a seat and even outside. Luckily they have take out. Also, their prices aren't bad but for some of the items I think its a bit much. Overall, I LOVE me some Pei Wei. It's one of the few Chinese food places in town that I actually like.

Pan Asian is the name of the game at this "Asian Diner." It doesn't necessarily feel like a typical diner though. Yet, they offer good food, fast and most entrees sell for less than $10. Aiming to reach those enjoy Korean, Thai, Chinese and Japanese cuisines, Pei Wei was established to serve its customers quicker than their more formal parent company, P.F. Changs. This location sits in a great spot. Next to Starbucks, a hugely popular destination for most, and near Target, among other destination stores in a plaza directly off of Colonial. You order, pay and then are served your meal once you take a seat. But if you choose to take it to go, they have a special area for those diners. They enjoying bragging that they use 17 distinct sauces that are entirely unique to Pei Wei which is an enviable piece of information. Plus all of their wok dishes are made to order which means your dinner hasn't been sitting under heat lamps for longer than it should. Their edamame (only $3.25) is a nice way to begin your meal there. I would recommend the honey seared chicken or shrimp if that is something enticing to you. It's extremely flavorful. You can choose to have noodles, brown or white rice as an accompaniment. You can also be more specific if you prefer less sauce or light on the oil.

Always have been served fresh food here, never have regret eating here yet. Its clean, food comes out super quick and its not that expensive at all. Right next to a Starbucks for that cup of coffee after a good meal...

If I had to correctly name categorize this place, I would call it Asian Fusion. So if your not feeling your standard Chinese food or Thai food, then this would be a great alternative, but if you have your mind set on General Tso or Pad Thai, you'll only end up disappointed. They have things similar, but those are foods you can't replace. Its good if you want mediocre Asian food. There are soo many good Chinese restaurants around that are mom and pop ran, that it doesn't really make sense to go here. The food is ok, but nothing spectacular and Little Viet Nam is right around the corner. I don't mind this place, but its not my first spot.

I totally forgot about Pei Wei. My mom used to get take out from this place a lot when I lived at home back in high school. I haven't had it in years and this was my first time actually going to a Pei Wei location. Went last week for dinner and had a great experience. We got some soup and an order of crab wontons and edamame to start. All were delicious! Then we got an order of sesame steak from their signature dishes and an order of Japanese teriyaki served over lo mein instead of the normal choice of white or brown steamed rice. Both dishes were really good and fresh and they came out fast. Just like Colleen B. mentioned, it's kind of like Jason's Deli in the way that the restaurant is laid out and the way you order and pay up front then take a number and put it on the table you want to sit at. The concept, like many other reviewers have already mentioned, is brought to you by PF Chang's. It's just much more casual and way less expensive. I will definitely be coming back soon!

If you are a fan of PF Changs but do not have the time to dine in or want to spend as much money, Pei Wei is a great option!

    (4)
  • Matt J.

Good food and reasonably priced. While it is not authentic Chinese food, but more of an American/ Chinese fusion - it's good. The chicken noodle bowl is a favorite of mine. I'm convinced I could eat the chicken noodle bowl twice a week and never get sick of it, but then I would probably get too fat and have heart problems and die, leaving my wife without anyone to annoy her.

I love Pei Wei! It is quick and very tasty! I always get the Dan Dan Noodles with beef. It is on the spicy side, so if you don't like spicy foods I'd stay away from that dish.

This is a miniature version of P.F. Changs, which in my book can't go wrong. I had never heard of it until seeing it on a drive by, it was Orlando's only branch though now I believe their are 2 in the area. This place is super tasty. There's a huge menu on the wall and you order at a counter, its like fast food but not. After ordering they give you a number you hang on your table, so sit down, get comfy and wait for your food to be served to you. I always get the hot and sour soup and then the Korean chicken. Its spicy and comes with fresh veggies and rice. I love P. F. Changs but you can't go there every day. With Pei Wei, pronounced pay way, you can!

    (4)
  • Ellen B.

I like Pei Wei. They serve beer, crab rangoon, and pad thai....all my faves. I will agree that it's not gourmet or authentic, but it is a great place to grab a quick bite. Plus, the portion sizes are also so large that I always end up with leftovers the next day. Once my pad thai had a sort of chemical aftertaste, but overall it's usually quite tasty.

  • Graham W.

Mmm. We have a decent CA-style noodle bar in Orlando. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. Good appys and big portions of the dinners. You can get brown rice, too. They have a separate register and door for takeout orders. Next to the Starbucks on Colonial and Maguire.

I am a fan of the order online set up Pei Wei has through Yelp! It was my first time actually trying a Pei Wei and it was a delish and convenient choice while on my mini road trip to Orlando. I'm deducting a star because of the lack of verbal anything from the workers. I'm a big fan of greeting people when they enter so it seemed odd that it was so silent. I mean, there was a huge line of people waiting on food to pick up so there was plenty of opportunities they could have asked if I needed something extra, etc. 4 Stars because it was super yummy. I ordered the Teriyaki chicken with noodles (shocker, right?) It's always a classic choice to make your tummy satisfied, that's for sure. The chicken really caught me off guard - in a good way. It seemed very fresh and I could tell it wasn't anything like the little stands in the malls where they hand out samples haha. The chicken almost had a breading on it, but it wasn't heavy so that was definitely what made me love it. We got the "larger" portion and at first when I saw it, I was like "yeah, I'm gonna need more than that if we're sharing." I was wrong! It was a perfect portion amount for two people to share. It also helped that we ordered extra chicken ;)

I just want to say a nice word about the people who work at Pei Wei. Sometimes they get my order wrong (it doesn't happen all the time, but it has happened a few times in the past). Just recently, I ordered the pad thai (like I usually do) but when I got home I opened it up and saw the chicken teriyaki. I went back and the girl behind the counter made things right. She gave us the chicken dish for free plus a $10 gift card. Now that's just good customer service. Bonus: their online ordering system has been much improved. It's a snap.

It's hit or miss. Some things they offer are absolutely amazing. For example their lettuce wraps, honey chicken and pad thai. Others are disappointing. I don't care for their "sushi," won ton soup, lo-mien, or spring rolls. Give them a shot and if you don't like it, try them again, because they have some really good food. Oh and love the ability to order online!!!!

Always a great experience and the food is hot and fresh. I love this place and always suggest this place to eat when anyone ask if I n ow if a great place to eat. I have just about tried everything on the menu and all has been good.

Food is always good and full of flavor. No matter if you want something mild or spicy, there is something for everyone. The price is good for the amount of food you receive. Last time I went, I got the Lettuce Wraps which were good and they give you plenty of lettuce to be able to make atleast 5 or 6. The meat mixture has really good flavor and is not too spicy. Their Chicken Spring Rolls are yummy and the peanut sauce is delicious, it also comes with a sweet thai chili sauce.

    (4)
  • Bonita B.

Love their ginger shrimp and broccoli with brown rice. Yes they have white rice and noddles. They also have beef and chicken as other meat selections. Lastly, you must try their beverage machine, you can make your own custom drink including flavored water. Once the rice was undercooked and the folks immediately re-cooked everything. So they regained their 5-star rating. Oh and I love their spring rolls (no meat)...yum!

  • Cecelia K.

I like the fact that Pei Wei has healthy alternative options from steam chicken to brown rice. They also have a lot of vegetarian and gluten free choices. Unless you have a large appetite I feel that the portions are big enough to share with someone or save for leftovers. You order and pay at the counter, they give you a number and it is brought out to you. They have a large selection of fountain drinks. If the place gets busy the tables may not be cleaned. At the end of the meal you leave you plates and they will clear them for you. This place is a good if you're looking for something quick and simple with healthy options.

The brown rice is really bad & the white rice is, well, white rice.. so we substituted Noodles for an extra dollar, we'll do that next time too... Thai Dynamite chicken was excellent, the Caramel Shrimp was also excellent EXCEPT the menu listed all of the ingredients and I ordered my dish Caramel style because it didn't have onions. My dish came with large chunks of onion. :-( When we sat down, I asked the guy that was running the meals to the tables if he would replenish the lemons... i asked him again when our mesls came and he didn't seem too concerned about it. When we were finishing our meals, he finally replinished the lemons... There was no member of management anywhere around to talk to. Two stars on this visit!

Great place to stop for a quick and casual meal. Personally I love the Mongolian beef with fried rice (I customize it with no mushrooms and add vegetables). The newer sushi options are also good and for an awesome price. I personally enjoy the spicy tuna roll and split the entree. I also love the classic chicken lettuce wraps. I would recommend if you are taking to go to order online the process is quick and easy to customize your order.

This was my first experience inside a Pei Wei, and I must say I am a Fan. Clean, great taste, Love the touchscreen soda machines, and the service. You pay for your food and pick a seat. They deliver your food right to you. No plastic all china. The only issue was there was no forks on hand. There did not seem to be a sense of urgency for them either. We had to find the plastic forks ourselves, which defeats the purpose of table service. I love that the to go boxes are already at hand by the straws and chop sticks. I will return again.

I have been here several times and I'm always impressed. This place is always clean and the staff are quick and efficient. The food is always fresh and full of flavor. It is an open kitchen so you can watch them cook and see how fast they work. You can either dine in or take out if you like. After 5:00pm on weekdays, the take out line can get long so I would recommend to dine in at this hour. But the experience all in all is always positive. Do eat here!

I ordered a sweet and sour vegetarian entree, served the sweet and sour chicken instead. Why is it so hard to give someone what they order? Customer service was fine. Place seemed to run very efficiently, which baffles me as they served me the wrong dish. They refunded my money, and brought out a replacement dish after I'd asked them NOT to, as I'd lost my appetite. More food wasted. Such a shame.

When in need for some quick pan Asian food, this isn't a terrible choice. I'd rather not support a chain, but they do make decent food and it's quick. The last few times we've gone however, the staff has seemed annoyed or irritated. As far as fast food goes, you could do worse though. They have tofu, do vegetarians and vegans can find something. And you get good sized portions. It can be loud at times too. So beware.

Pei Wei is always a good choice for me. What's great is that the portion is always huge and I always bring home left-overs. You first start by placing your order at the counter. They will give you a plastic placard for you to put on the table that you decide to sit, and then they bring out the order to you. There's not really a server that comes by to check up on you but they do bring out food when it is done. The fountain drink machine is self service, along with the eating utensils if you do not want to eat with chop sticks. They also have to-go boxes at the self service area also.

I absolutely love pei Wei and everything on the menu. The crab wantons are my favorite thing to get, with the sweet chili sauce. I highly recommend this restraint if you like Asian cuisine.

We have been eating at Pei Wei for YEARS! I almost always order one of about 3 favorite things. Tonight the food is just plain inferior. My husband and I both ordered the caramel chicken as we have many times. Instead of seeming glazed the chicken was hard and dry. The ingredients didn't even seem like they had been cooked in the same pan but assembled separately. Our son was finished with his food before we even got ours. We have been noticing a slip in the quality. This may be our last visit.

My hubby and I dined here the other night because I had a BOGO from a company email/survey they sent out to subscribers. I've dined at this location several times in the past and have even placed takeout orders. This review is based solely on our dine in experience. There was a little bit of a wait but it moved rather quickly. In case you have never dined at a Pei Wei before- you order and pay at the front, they give you a number for your table and bring your meal out to you. We decided to go with the traditional chicken lettuce wraps as our appetizer, I chose the Pei Wei spicy with chicken and white rice as my entrée while my husband had the honey seared chicken. Drink cups are given to you upon payment and are self serve. The dining room was rather full but we found a table for 2 available which was inches from a large party. So don't expect to have private conversations. Or quiet. It's pretty noisy when it's busy! You do have to ask an employee for extra napkins. Someone swiped the ones off the plates at our table and there were none at the drink station. Our food came out rather quickly. The lettuce wraps were delicious. The sauce for the wraps were under the lettuce cups and I didn't see it until we were halfway done with our appetizer so check there if you are wondering where it is! These are a great value considering they're pricier if you have them at PF Chang's. My Pei Wei spicy was good even with the undercooked beans. They were a bit crunchy for my liking so I wonder if they were rushing through trying to get orders out without giving the appropriate enough cook time for my entree. As always, we had leftovers . They have take out boxes at the drink station which is convenient so you don't have to flag down an employee. Overall, the food is tasty, filling and a great value. I normally don't dine here because I prefer authentic Asian cuisine which is further up the road. But for something quick, it's not bad! It definitely pays to sign up for their rewards program. I usually get some sort of offer for a BOGO every so often. Parking is a bit of a pain. If it fills up, you can park in the huge lot behind the restaurant and walk on over.

I don't quite understand how this place is still around. I have eaten here a couple of times before and I always have a similar experience. Very sub-par food and an okay service experience at best. But we had some friends that wanted to go so we gave it another try. First, for them to offer a Subway / Chipotles type experience with Asian food is kind of dumb to begin with. There is such an excess of style, sauce noodle/rice and veggie choices I always feel rushed trying to figure out what to order. I guess if you frequented this place you would develop specific combinations you liked over time, but for someone who doesn't go often it is a little. My main gripe is the food itself, it's bad and there is plenty of it. The rice is okay, not really proper sticky rice like you would get from most Asian places and the noodles are just awful, they are mushy, starchy and overcooked to boot, not like a lomein noodle I have gotten at any other asian place. The other odd thing, and this is true of their parent restaurant PF Chang's as well, they put almost no sauce on anything. It is pretty much meat and veggies lightly coated and served dry over the starchy substrate. I don't get that at all, if it was at least a little bit moist it might be palatable. Maybe they had to eliminate as much moisture as possible to keep take out from completely disintegrating the already mushy noodles. And worst of all the egg rolls. How can you so completely destroy something as simple as an eggroll. They are greasy, soggy and generally inedible with a mustard sauce that is just nasty and tastes nothing like actual chinese spicy mustard. I so want to like this place but I think the Panda express down the street is way better and it is not even that good. I really miss having really good Chinese restaurant choice closer to home. There are a few places downtown but it is still hit or miss.

Holy cow have the prices gone up here! They have resorted to nickel and diming their customers. What was a free "option" is now considered a $ubstitution. Not cool. They are not "$", they are "$$" per person...

Its always good! I love their kung pao shrimp!!! This place is reliably excellent!!!! Their mongolian beef, chicken teriyaki with noodles are also amazing!!! YUM!

Let me first start by saying unless you have more then an hour lunch dont bother coming here. I decided to come here with a friend for lunch i placed the order at 11:30 they game me an estimated pick up time of 11:54... We got there at 12:05 there was a pick up line out the door and when i went to ask about the food she told me it wasnt ready. I finally ended up getting my food past 12:30 and noticed that the girl up at the counter was giving us a soup that had been sitting there since we got there. I asked her id she could please give me another soup and it took her about a good ten mins before i finally told her to forget it and refund me the money. I have never had a bad experience when i eat there... but their pick up SUCKS. The food is ok, and it is fresh.

If you're looking for a quick sit down restaurant with a quality menu, this is the place! I ordered an appetizer of the Crab Wontons and for my meal I had the Chicken Pei Wei spicy. It was delicious, reasonably priced and I even had leftovers.

I have driven by this location soooo many times and just never really thought to venture in. Well, today I was in a hurry and I thought, why not give it a shot. Walked in and ordered right away. Went for the cup of wonton and chicken lo mein. You grab your number and seat yourself, just like Jason's Deli. This is the sister, quick location to PF Changs. The won ton soup came out so quick and it was delicious. Smaller wontons and very tasty. The chicken lo mein was yummy! I wish there would have been a little more veggies overall or sliced thicker but there was a good amount of chicken. The chicken was slightly breaded and so tasty. Quick! Tasty Fast Food overall and I will totally go back to check out other dishes.

I love pei Wei, but the quality of their food today is very poor. The rice clearly had set out way too long, and the chicken had a taste or smell that reminded me of an old shoe. Normally this place is good, I hope it's not a sign of coming crappyness.

Not too please with my to go meal. I ordered sweet and sour chicken...and what I got was spicy and full of ginger. I've had this dish here before and it did not taste like this. It totally killed my food craving :( Next time I'll stick to Mongolian beef.

Pei Wei offers a great variety of Asian foods, including noodle & rice bowls and salads. It's a great alternative to fast food without having to pay for sit-down service. They offer a gluten-free menu, and their website lists a complete nutrition book of all of their items. They even have a little sign that notifies customers at the register that if they want a healthy option, they can order stock velvet chicken instead of the fried/wok stuff. I also love that you can choose brown rice instead of white. I am pretty much hooked on the Pei Wei Spicy Chicken salad/rice bowl. The flavors never get old! For this particular location, it gets very busy around the typical lunch hours, 7 days a week. Make sure you get there early or after regular lunch if you don't want to wait too long. However, even when it's busy they get through lines pretty quickly. A new addition to this location is the cool Freestyle Coca-Cola machine. You can mix & match cool soda flavors; it's a lot of fun!

This is a nice "Americanized" Chinese restaurant. If you like PF Changs, you can have similar dishes here for about 1/2 the price. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. This is a super quick meal, even when the place is packed and it doesn't taste like fast food. On this particular visit, I ordered like Sally from "When Harry Met Sally", I was getting annoyed with myself! Each one of my requests what met with a "no problem" and they followed up when I was seated to make sure everything was as ordered. I sat down to enjoy a quick bite and a moment with some delish Madarin Orange green tea, then boxed my leftovers with my take out order for the hubby and was off to run a few more errands on my way home. Perfect, and everything was still warm when I got home. :)

I have seen this place all over and never bothered to go up until last week. I wanted to go to Amura on my lunch break, but my plans had to change and I was still craving some sort of Asian food. I had to think of somewhere that would be quick and easy and for some reason Pei Wei popped into my head. I decided to give it a try. I needed to get my food and drive back to work within 30 minutes since I had to take a short lunch, so I decided to try the online ordering instead of ordering my food when I got there. I picked what I wanted, added some special changes to the order and put the time I wanted to pick it up. When I got there, my food was all ready to go and still piping hot. I was in and out of there in less than 2 minutes. It was great! I ordered the Teriyaki chicken over noodles and I thought it was pretty good. I plan on going back here to try other things that looked tasty on their menu, and I definitely plan on using the online ordering feature every time I'm going to pick up food.

I am a fan of PF Changs, but can't always afford the prices there. Pei Wei is a great option for me, as the prices are more reasonable, and I would say the food is on par with PF Changs (the restaurants are related). Food is quickly cooked to order, always fresh, and flavorful. I typically order the Pei Wei Spicy Beef, which is just good every time. My wife love the Pad Thai there, it is her favorite rendition of Pad Thai that she has just about anywhere around town. We have gone out of our way several times just to go here, as we enjoy the food so much more than local Chinese take out. To save money, get on their website and sign up to get their flavor passport. Typically, whenever they are serving new dishes, they give out BOGO coupons to try it with another dish you order. I have recently had two BOGO coupons in the past two months.

I love eating here but only on Friday nights or Saturday nights when the food is fresh. 3 weeks ago my boyfriend and I came here on a Tuesday for lunch as PW never disappoints. But the waiter that served us out food looked like he wanted to quit. The rice was mushy and i asked for a new bowl. The waiter made it seem like i was bothering him. We waited one hour for (the rest) of our food to come out. We did not enjoy our lunch. But I will try to go on the weekends instead.

I normally visit the Pew Wei over off Sand Lake Road since that is the once closest to me but I was over on the other side of Orlando and while making a pit stop at Total Wine, I saw this location and decided to bring home dinner! When I got in the door, it was not very busy (6 pm or so) and a nice young lady took my order. I got two spring rolls and the Spicy Pew Wei to go. I decided to make a quick trip to the bathroom and when I got back a few min later, the place was full of people! I must of come in just at the right time because it went from about 4 people to 20! I waited only about 8 min for my food and bang... I was out the door! By the time I got home about 20 min later, I sat down to share my food with my hubby... the spring rolls were still hot and crispy! YUM! The Chicken was nice and spicy... and still hot! Again, Pei Wei came thru and proved to me that they are one of the best 'fast food' Asian places to grab a bite to eat! Enjoy!

By far one of the best fast food restraurants in Orlando. I have always ordered my food to go. After waiting 20 mins for my to-go order my first time there, I have smartened up and now place my order online. Menu: Their hot and spicy isn't the best nor is their wonton. If you had to pick between the two, go with their wonton. Their menu consits of gluten free options. My last meal there was the Mongolian Chicken which was better than average. I am signed up for their e-mail alerts which is well worth it. About 3 times a year they will have you go on their website and watch a video on a new menu item. After you watch the video you get a voucher for 1 free Diner Select. It's definitely worth signing up for. If you had to choose between Pei Wei and Panda Express, Pei Wei is the way to go. I will be going back.

Good fast Asian food in a nice neat environment. You can watch your food being prepared in a woc over some huge flames so you know its cooked to order... and the cooking is more entertaining that the average place. For a fast casual not-expensive experience this is one of the best.

We tried switching to online ordering to see if that would help with the expo problems we've been having with no luck. The last time, somehow my vegan husband ended up with both chicken and tofu in his dish instead of extra (double) tofu. That was the last straw and now they're off the list. Perhaps this should now be one star but I'm leaving the second star for nostalgia of better times.

I love the combo which includes a soup. I usually get the Mongolian Beef and add vegetables with the Thai Wonton soup. We often get take out after the gym. It is affordable and delicious!

There's always room for my wheelchair inside. The servers always pay attention to me. It's clean, affordable, hubs LOVES the Thai coconut curry- green curry and spicy as hell. I love the Bangkok noodles. They never forget my fortune cookies and I get regular e-mail coupons. Being that I'm not anti-chain restaurant, I can really appreciate this place.

Pei Wei is good gourmet fast food Chinese. The ordering process is similar to a Panera expect at Pei Wei they bring your food to you. The food is all cooked fresh to order. It is still fast food, so nothing too fancy. Prices are a little higher than at a Panda Express (around $9 for entrees) but the quality is worth it. Ordering is quick, and the food is ready fast so it is an easy in and out. My honey shrimp was good but I was upcharged for shrimp and only got about six. My meal was more expensive than my companions and I got less food! The shrimp was pretty good but my brown rice was dry. But hey, at least they offer brown rice as an option! The employees were efficient and friendly. Someone even cleared our plates after we'd finished eating. They also have to go boxes standing by alongside fortune cookies.

I go to Pei Wei, the glorified Chinese food chain just below PF Chang, sometimes for their stir fries this and that. The place with the open kitchen layout looks warm and fuzzy, and nice touch with the hanging woks here and there. Most of their food are good, but for me it's a bit confusing. Their food's taste somehow stuck between the real authentic Chinese food ( or wannabe) and the regular Chinese take out places. So when I have their food, it tastes good, but then it's not all that great either. Weird! Overall, if you want Chinese food that's not your regular take out place, and you don't feel like paying more for the same stuff at PF Chang then Pei Wei is for you!

I finally tried this place! You walk up to the register, order your food and drinks. They give you a number for your table and the food is then brought out to you. I can honestly say I was wicked impressed at how fast the food came out! The portions were good for the price. And they have a kids menu! I ordered the chicken Lo Mein. They were not skimpy on the chicken either. It wasn't a bad place, it's more of a place you try at least once. Nothing really to brag about except for how fast the food comes out. And they have a kids menu. That's a plus!

Consistently good eats a good price. I actually prefer this place to their big-brother PF Changs, and it's about 1/3 of the price. I have probably eaten here 20 or 30 times over the past few years, and it's my go-to for take out if I'm craving asian food. For about 10 bucks you'll get PLENTY of food. My favorites are their Thai wonton soup (it's awesome) for an app, and for main course I am a sucker for the Kung Pao with chicken. The ginger broccoli with steak is pretty solid as well. Next up would be the curry and Fried Rice if I had to order them. I tried the caramel chicken and it didn't do it for me nor did the Pad Thai.... Also the spring rolls are pretty good, and the Thai Chicken lettuce wraps are yummy! You can choose either white or brown rice with your entree (except for noodle bowls). I honestly just upsell to the fried rice because it's really good and not greasy. If you are eating in, they have one of those super coke soda machines where you can ultra-customize your drink, and those are always pretty cool. Now that I'm thinking about it, I think will be heading over there for some take out in a bit! You can order online or call ahead and your food will almost always be waiting for you in 15 mins. This place is very consistent in both quality and service.

I've eaten here a couple of times and the food is fairly consistent, well it was until my last visit. I recently ordered some food for pick up. Once I got home, I realized that my Pad Thai which was supposed to be mild was not. Then I realized the other meal which was supposed to be spicy was actually mild. I double checked the bill, and the order was placed correctly, but the kitchen screwed it up. Aside from that, we ordered some crab rangoon. It was a bit of a disappointment as they were clearly overcooked. On the bright side, its fairly cheap.

I was a bit skeptical about this concept. I've eaten here twice now. I was surprised both times with how good the food was. There are so many other good Asia restaurants in the area though. That this one is way down on my list.

It's semi-fast food asian food. The sauces are tasty the meat is usually cooked well and they get some decent flavors out of it. No real complaints other than the pork egg rolls are often super greasy. I do enjoy their pad thai and pei wei spicy dishes but didn't enjoy the orange peel dish which I normally love at asian restaurants.

  • Ken C.

I've been to all of wolfgang pucks restaurants and this by far the worst and most inconsistent. Had the lemongrass chicken salad and Korean chicken. Both were over seasoned, and way over salted on the Korean. Chefs seemed off this night, and I noticed ALOT of food left on other diners plates. Not awful, but not up to standards. I would have been better off going to a Panda Express.

  • Mia G.

Honestly, my husband and I both ordered completely different dishes and were both dissatisfied to the point of not even eating them. The meat was dry and the lo mein noodles were over cooked to the point of being sticky. Will not be back.

  • Melissa S.

I used to love it here. The last few times I have been less than impressed. First of all it's kinda pricey which I didn't used to mind. My food was bland, dry and tasteless and so was my husbands. It was also pretty cold. I actually couldn't even finish it.

    (2)
  • Victoria A.

Marc G. is correct. "Great food, great price, and fast service". Impressive for a chain. Higher quality than Panda Express. Love the option of brown rice instead of white. Huge plus for me- they have Edamame. For some odd reason- PF Changs does not offer edamame on their appetizer list anymore....but Pei Wei's does! You can also connect to Starbuck's free wifi because they are located next door. :)

Sometimes you just want Asian takeout food, even when you know it isn't healthy and it's only semi-authentic. For me, this usually occurs when I walk out of LA Fitness after a long run or something and I smell delicious fried smells wafting across the parking lot. (Chipotle, you're losing out on a lot of business by not piping your burrito exhaust northward.) I will then proceed to dive facefirst into a chicken pad thai with no shame whatsoever. Not a place I'd make an specific trip to, given the number of other delicious Asian restaurants in the area, but a great impulse buy.

Is a good alternative to chinese restaurants. Almost every dish is sweet. The price is right and you get big portions. I personally like the crispy chicken with sesame seeds and veggies over brown rice.

I've only been to Pei Wei once and have no desire to return ever again. I'm giving them 2 stars because some of my friends actually enjoyed their food, and the setting itself was pretty cool. But to me, the food was downright horrible. If I want Asian food, I can easily go down the road and have more delicious ones. The price and quality just doesn't match up to me. Being Asian, I like my Asian food authentic, and it pisses me off whenever these chain restaurants try to make it too Americanized. No offense, but it seems the only type of seasoning they actually know of is salt, its varieties and soy sauce. Excuse me, but there are other types of seasonings you can use. The noodles I ordered came out ridiculously salty (this coming from someone who does like salty food) and the noodles were overcooked so it was soggy. Pei Wei is basically a suckier and cheaper version of P.F. Chang's. Try it at your own risk. Or, if you're more inclined to the very Americanized Chinese food, then you'll probably be okay with it.

    (2)
  • Bryne Y.

Certainly not bad for what it is, which is a chain, fast-casual restaurant that offers a bunch of different Asian cuisines instead of just specializing in one iteration. I do appreciate how clear the menu is, especially as a vegetarian; it's a big help and saves me from asking a bunch of questions about the food that an employee may not know how to answer. Speaking of employees, they were all very pleasant on my visit. As for the food, I opted for the Spicy Korean dish with tofu and vegetables, and it was serviceable, even if I expected it to be a hell of a lot spicier than it was. I'd come back and try Pei Wei again simply based on convenience and service, but I'll try a different dish next time.

  • Chelsea E.

Pei Wei is fine, if you want to go to a chain restaurant. However, with the abundance of cheap, fast, delicious Asian food in the area, I have no idea why you would. Also, their service is terrible.

  • Dave T.

1 star for being clean. Other than that not memorable. Think of the difference between dipped and marinated, what would you rather have? If you like Panda Express, then this is fine dining for you. Nuff said. Dafe

I rather like this slightly watered down version of PF Chang's. The prices are better and the entrees are similar. I've had their lettuce wraps which are always good but my Mom ordered the lo mein and it truly didn't impress her overly much. She ate it due to extreme hunger but said the "flavors" were off. Myself, I will gladly go again and enjoy the pad thai or the wraps. The other things, I'll slowly but surely taste.

    (3)
  • Mark A.

I've had Pei Wei before and I wasn't impressed. This time around, I actually enjoyed my meal. The pad thai was too bland for my taste when I had it about a year ago. I vowed never to go again, but this time, it wasn't in my control. I went with the Veggie Spicy Korean. Excellent! It surely changed my perspective of the chain.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
