Wow! This is authentic mexican food, best flavor, preparation, serving size and ingredients so good, it makes me think I'm in the Mercado again in a little pueblito beware cause salsas are hot and tasty

The tacos are pretty small but they are so cheap! The tortillas looked like they were homemade and there's a small toppings table that can add some good flavor to your meal. It's definitely worth checking it out if you're in the area

The only motivation to write this review is: Disappointment! I got sick after eating in this place. The tortillas were soggy and greasy (They could not hold the scarcy meat in the taco). The salsas did not have any flavor: They tasted like water with chile! The service: Awful! Excuse me! I would continue complaining but I need to throw up first just thinking about it.... Meh!, meh!, meh! And Super-meh!

Yet another mexican gem added to my collection. This one is located in oakcridge Rd right next to fire fighter station. This place is a bakery and a taqueria but you can get other mexican goodness such as gorditas, tortas, burritos And huaraches! Huarache is a popular Mexican dish consisting of an oblong, fried masa base, with a variety of toppings, you can pick from the usual suspects, carne asada, chorizo, al pastor etc. My only complaint is that the tacos are a too small. But other than that everything else is of good size. Also, you are handed your tacos plain so you are supposed to add the garnish from the small stand sitting in the dinning room. Overall this is great Lil place to get real authentic mexican at a really cheap price. Love it!

If you are a fan of Chipoltles or Tijuana Flats then this is NOT your place. If you love authentic Mexican street food as I do then you will love it. I have not been able to find better authentic Mexican food in all of the city. It is located in a not so good part of town on Oak Ridge Rd just off of OBT. The carne asada tacos come with well seasoned meat on fresh handmade tortillas. There is a toppings bar with cilantro, onions, carrots, salsas, diced tomatoes and limes that you can use to complete the tacos to your liking. They also serve tortas (which are outstanding), burittos, sopes, and flautas. The food is inexpensive with three tacos and a soda costing less than five dollars.

Ventured out of my comfort zone of acceptable street views in restaurants in pursuit of a place Tom B has not reviewed. PYTC did fit the bill. Since I am so Spanish illiterate and the menu was somewhat challenging, I went for some tacos for starters. The three tacos I ordered were pleasant home made delights. The corn based tortillas are only about the diameter of a healthy sized apple slice. Big on flavor and doubled up to help maintain the ability to "contain". I love the the taste of masa based tortillas! The chorizo was the least flavorful of the trio I ordered. I was eating, but the pallet wasn't registering. The beef had a ever so slight bit of sweetness to it, but in a pleasant way.The pork too flavorful and well, simply good. Went back for a pork gordita that turned out to be the one I would target to do again. It came with fried tortillas and topped with their white cheese- that I don't have the name for. (I'm such a gringo & rookie!) All in all, the food is served up fresh and at less than $2 a taco, its really hard to criticize to aggressively. As for the interior of the place, well this ain't much. The outside doesn't lie. (Sorry no smart phone photos still, but come April...) Set up with paper-cloth draped banquet tables and Cosco folding chairs - this is not a destination for a date night. It is friendly enough to give the lingering table Christmas decorations a pass tho. I know I missed out on the true shine of the place by passing on all the wonderful fresh looking pastries! (Not on the current paleo regime to my disappointment and I was already compromising with the tortillas) I would say you should stop in and check out their vast selection of pastry goodies for sure- cause they really looked very promising? Okay, I can bet your not buying it. Perhaps one day soon, after I reach 170, I'll get back in to take a sack of these goodies out then update this review with some real excitement!?

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
