This place had some of the worst sushi I have ever had. I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary and it was really bad. Maybe I'm spoiled being from southern California, but the sushi was about the quality level of a grocery store. The service was also slow. I got the burger and it was mediocre, but it's hard to mess up a burger. The real horrible part was that it cost us $100 to be completely disappointed. I trusted the yelp reviews, but I wish I didn't. I'm just happy my girlfriend didn't break up with me for ruining our anniversary with this restaurant.

Anyone who knows true real sushi will enjoy this place. They have the best sushi the freshest the most tasty rolls I have ever experienced anywhere in Florida! By far the most amazing, and I've been best places in Miami Broward County Palm Beach County all the way up as far north as Tallahassee as far west as Tampa! I hate to write this because this place is a true hidden gem. Do not like their sushi because you really do not know good sushi! I highly recommend the Pacific wrong, the dragon roll forever which are just unbelievable. Do not take out, ordering is the best.. I guarantee you will never taste anything even remotely close to this!!! Six stars for this place I have been going for years and will continue to go! I actually travel to this hotel to stay there purposely so that I can have their sushi!!! Try this place, you will not be disappointed!! Price is a little above your average sushi but it is well well worth it! David G

I love this sushi restaurant. It's situated in the resort lounge of the Royal Pacific hotel at Universal Studios in Florida. I've stayed here twice, same month three years ago. Same quality experience. It's a casual dining area with table side sushi and bar service, or you can be your own waiter. I prefer to just sit back and relax... Some nights in a lounge chair, some nights at a table. I can't recall every roll my family ate, so let me describe it this way... We were in the park from about 8am till closing overnight. Made our way down for dinner around 9pm and ordered exactly what we want; meaning they customize rolls for you. Expensive, but you're staying at a resort in Universal Studios. If you're shopping on price, you've made a huge mistake and will be disappointed. Stay at a different hotel and dine at a different restaurant.

Wow. Just... Wow. Anyone who rates the sushi at this place as anything above 1star has never had it before, is from Michigan, or is just an idiot. WARNING: this grocery store-grade sushi at best! I mean, this stuff has no color, smells fishy, and isn't fit to be used as bait to catch fish that could be made into sushi. Given how genuinely awful the sushi is, I still give the place 2 stars based upon the strength of the hamburger, which was really good, and came from "Jack's" kitchen - seriously the hamburger comes from "Jack's" as confirmed by our server Laura (who was great, BTW). So, do NOT eat the sushi (unless you're from Michigan, and then you can rave about how great it is). Instead, go to Jack's and get a hamburger. Amended to add that management could not have been nicer or more accommodating about everything. However, that still doesn't make up for the lousy quality of the sushi. Get a hamburger at Jack's.

We had some great sushi here on the last night of our trip. I wasnt sure what to expect from hotel food, but the Orchid Court Lounge & Sushi Bar did not disappoint. We ordered a number of rolls The only negative I can say is that because it was a lounge, some of the seating was a lot more casual and not really what I felt was appropriate for eating. Luckily we snagged a regular table and not a coffee table. I wish there was a bit more lighting. I felt it was difficult to see the menu and really appreciate the beautiful plating of the sushi. All in all a great sushi spot, in a beautiful hotel.

Had dinner at the sushi bar. The fish was so fresh!! We could really tell the difference from other sushi restaurants (and you can see that we go to a lot!). All the sushi we had was delicious! Can't wait to go back to try other things! Had pastries and coffee this morning. The donuts were incredible as were the croissants and the bagels. The cashier said all the pastries are baked fresh on site. Really yummy! Even my kids could tell the difference between these fresh donuts and the ones from the donut chains.

The sushi here came highly recommended and I must say it was spot on. This is a nice Lounge & Sushi Bar in the Royal Pacific hotel in Universal. The decor is beautiful, the lounge is quite nice and relaxing (except for one thing which I will explain below). Christina was our server and she was attentive and sweet. We ordered a few Veggie rolls, a Spicy Salmon, a Cilantro Roll and since they have more than Sushi my hubby ordered a Tomato Mozzarella Sandwich. That came out first and since we were hungry that was a good thing. The fries were out of this world, fresh, crunchy, hot. Delicious! The sandwich was great, although I ended up pulling everything out and not eating the bread. All of the rolls were super delicious! I especially liked the Cilantro Roll although you need to know that it was spicy due to the jalapeno. Quite spicy. For dessert we had the Tempura Cheesecake, it had a mango sauce. That part of the meal I wasn't fond of, the cheesecake was frozen and the sauce a bit fake tasting. My hubby liked it though. The only reason there aren't 5 stars is because it was late - after 9 and we were looking forward to a nice relaxing loungy experience. We were in the corner next to the bar, and I could hear the TV all the way on the other side. First of all, its not a Sports Bar - either way, if the TV MUST be on, closed captioning is appropriate and nice music so we can enjoy the meal without the buzzing of the TV in the back. That was really the only ''but''.

Slow service. I'm so annoyed that I'm writing this before my sushi has arrived. The wine isn't good enough reorder a second glass. #notimpressed #dontgohere

The sushi here was so bad that it actually made me log into my yelp account that I haven't touched since 2011 and write my first review. My biggest complaint is that the 'sushi chef' put WAY too much wasabi in the rolls. I was born in Japan and have had enough sushi in both Japan and the United States to know what an acceptable amount of wasabi in a sushi roll is. I had to literally scoop out the wasabi from each piece before eating it because otherwise I would gag. By the time I finished taking out the wasabi, there was at least a tablespoon of it on my plate. When the waitress came and asked if everything was okay, I told her that the rolls were too spicy. Her reply was, "Well the wasabi is what makes it spicy". No sh*t, Sherlock! I already knew that! The problem is that there is way too much. I'm not sure if the sushi chef just wasn't paying attention and accidentally put a ton in my roll or if it was on purpose to cover the taste of old fish. Either way, it sucked. In addition to the roll, I decided to get some pieces of nigiri. One of them was the white tuna. The waitress came back with my order and explained what fish each one was. She pointed to one and said it was the white tuna, although it obviously was not. It was yellowtail, and it tasted old. In short, the sushi here was not good- definitely not worth the price, and I will never come back here again.

After a recent stay at the Pacific Royal Resort, I found myself enamored by their Sushi Bar and Chic Lounge. Surrounded by palm trees, waterfalls and large comfortable seating, it is easy to slip into a comfortable state of mind with not a worry in the world. Like many Sushi dinners before, I started with a bottle of unfiltered sake. The carafe of milky white cold liquid is the perfect accompanier to any fresh fish. It has a rich flavor but no lasting alcohol kick so you can really taste the delicate flavors of the Japanese art. The Tuna Tataki was a spicy kick of a starter. It is very lightly seared so the edge of the red meat has a thin layer of white. The white is hard to see because the outside of the tuna has a layer of very spicy crushed Japanese chili peppers. The smoked salmon was just OK nothing to wow me other than the obvious signs of the fish being very fresh and tender. However their Red Tuna sashimi is in the top 3 best cuts of fish I've ever had. Which is a pretty big deal... The cut was perfect, absolutely zero tough veins in the meat, with an easy to squeeze in two melting tenderness that can only be found when your fish is as fresh as possible. For dessert I ate the tempura fried cheesecake served with ice cream and a chocolate syrup drizzle. I was recommended this by my more than awesome and very attentive server Samira H. and she was right on the money with how awesome it is. This Banana Foster's on steroids was big enough for several but I was ok eating it all by myself! At the end, I struggled to finish my last bite because it would finalize my great dining experience. Yet I caved in and in a flash it was gone. :)

Standard sushi restaurant prices, surprisingly good food for a hotel lobby lounge. Stopped by for a Saturday afternoon early dinner before catching a flight. The restaurant was empty except for another couple. So the service was quick and friendly. It has comfortable couches to watch some sports on while enjoying your meal. The sushi was excellent. Got the sesame salad and Mexican, Dynamite, and Rainbow Roll. Would stop by again

My husband and I dined here for dinner while staying at the Lowe's Royal Pacific Resort. We ordered three sushi rolls which were tasty but are the smallest sushi rolls I have ever been served. The service was friendly but slow. Not bad but I think that there are more impressive dining options at this resort.

I started by ordering a Shiraz, Rosemount Estates from Australia ( aussie's make great wines ) and my wife a tropical piña colada , this started things off right. The only knock I had was the speed of the service, a bit on the slow motion setting. Only problem was there was no remote button to make them go faster. The sushi rolls we ordered were delicious. We ordered to start edamame and a California roll. Next I proceeded to order a spicy tuna roll and a dynamite roll. Awesome to the taste. I knew they were great, because my wife when she tries sushi, will eat at most 2 pieces. I never got to try the California roll, as he confiscated it. Afterwards, I ended up drinking a coffee which was ok. If the service was faster, this place would rock totally, during my trip, I ended up here a total of 3 time for sushi and twice more for just drinks!

Staying at the hotel and had to review ASAP to STOP all sushi lovers from coming here. Not good, poor service and fair food. 2 rolls, bad sake, Shirley temple, salad and miso for $51.. Miso was the very worst we've ever had, sushi was mediocre, quarter size bites of meh. Hotel overall is excellent, need to revamp their lounge which is where their sushi food is The service at Denny's is better. Had to ask for water, soy sauce, soy sauce saucer thingy- 3 separate requests. Total of 7 people in the restaurant at the time, so no excuses.

Found Orchid Court on Yelp. Was out for a convention.... While trying to eat seafood all week, craving sushi..... Orchid had the best reviews. Walking in, and sitting down.... I thought at first to just leave. This is not a traditional sushi bar. Once I got talking to the chef.... ordering, talking, enjoying..... Then..... I saw that a fresh grouper was just taken out to be broken down. From there the night began, had some seared... it was awesome, then the chef opened up and made us what he likes best.... All great plates of sushi/sashimi. KungPai

Tried the sushi bar. I found it to be overpriced and frankly not that good. Truthfully I'm not a fan of "fusion" sushi and prefer the "original" type but even though it just didn't feel fresh to me. The sashimi mackerel was dry... The seaweed salad was tasty but nothing to write home about. Overall it's priced like a fancy sushi restaurant without the ambiance and quality.

What are the odds of finding a great sushi bar in a hotel. If it hadn't been for yelp we would have even tried it. We most definitely would have missed out. Great sushi and atmosphere.

Located in the main lobby area of Royal Pacific Resort, which is one of Universal Orlando's on-site hotels, Orchid Court Sushi Bar is definitely a Universal best kept secret. In fact, many guests visiting the theme parks don't even realize there are on-site hotels, let alone superb restaurants at those hotels, like Orchid Court Sushi Bar. My wive and I love coming here. It's got a great island atmosphere, impressive theming, excellent service, and most importantly, incredible sushi. We have ordered numerous items from the menu, and we have yet to find something we didn't love. I highly recommend stopping here, especially if you have never been to Royal Pacific before. When friends and family visit from out of town, this gem is always at the top of our to-do list. Orchid Court Sushi Bar, with its central location, is also a perfect stop for people-watching. You definitely get pulled into the resort vibe. It's got a great view of Royal Pacific's pool area too. There's just so much to like about this place. You should go. Insider tip: Royal Pacific is located next to Universal's Islands of Adventure. You can either walk from CityWalk (takes about ten minutes--look for the path adjacent to Margaritaville), or you can take the complimentary watertaxis (they only start asking to see room keys in the late evening).

We were staying at the Royal Pacific resort so we decided to check out this sushi bar. Sushi and sake were yummy. We got comfy seats right by the windows with a great view!

I live in Orlando and was in the I-Drive area when I wanted to try and find a good sushi place. I found it on Yelp and decided to give it a try. First off, the "restaurant" is the Loews Hotel which you have to pay to park in, $20-$30, just to park in the parking lot! When we found the sushi bar, it was a lounge in the lobby with few tables. The menu was limited and mediocre. I didn't not feel the quality was anywhere near worth the price. Maybe if you are a naive guest staying in the hotel, but it really just seemed like a tourists trap!!! There are far better sushi places in Orlando, you just have to be willing to leave the "theme park lands" to find it!!

A pleasant surprise at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort. I liked it so much I visited three times during the week. A fantastic value at happy hour! Excellent service staff, and delicious sushi, sashimi and nigiri options. A few Asian options like ribs or salads too. Somewhat limited menu but the freshness and amazing sunset views made up for it.

Excellent sushi and a nice surprise given the environment. This establishment is in the Loews South Pacific resort at Universal Orlando and it didn't taste or feel like theme park dining. We opted for this after considering the in-hotel Emeril Lagasse offering. The sushi was very good. We had one of the larger sampler platters which was surprisingly generous. None of the nigiri, sashimi, or maki that we had were terribly adventuresome but it was all excellent. Had I not been full, I would have gladly eaten more and made some more esoteric selections. The sushi was at a surprisingly acceptable price point as well. Three older kids (an old 8 year-old was the youngest) were along for the night, two of whom don't like sushi. There were plenty of offerings for them as well. They shared a generous and tasty cheese plate among other more standard bar food fare. If you're in the hotel, I'd head here. If you're stuck wandering around CityWalk after dragging yourself through a Universal theme park all day, it's only a boat ride (or ten minute walk) away.

What a hidden gem. Glad its not well known:) we ate there four times last week on vacation. really good. Orlando is lacking top notch sushi spots. the cilantro roll is rediculous. great atmosphere, more of a lounge. cant wait to go back... affordable prices too.

Overall, quite good. The sushi rolls were well made. We went for the Tanaka roll, the spicy tuna roll, the California roll, tuna sashimi and drinks. Tropical drinks were very good. I was happy about pricing as well--very reasonable for sushi anywhere you go. Service was professional as well. Expect $10-$20 per order.

GORGEOUS! It's more like a saucy lounge than a sushi bar, in my opinion. There's big sexy chairs, tiny little glass tables, sexy & friendly servers, fresh and delicious sushi, and perfect (and I do mean perfect) cocktails. I got a berry Mojito that was the single most refreshing beverage I have ever had, in my life. Then I moved on to a celebratory glass of champers (with fresh berries, again). What was I celebrating? Surviving a week and a half long vacation of living in close quarters with my family and boyfriend. I know, right? I gave myself some mighty big pats on the back for that. Our server was wonderful! She knew everything on the menu, was adorably prego, and made great conversation with, not just the BF and I, but also with my Ps- which is no small feat. The sushi was a little pricey at first glance, but at first bite, well worth it. They also have other full meals that don't involve sushi and sound delicious as well- but I noticed that they have those same meals at Jake's American restaurant on the lower level of the hotel for cheaper. If you're at the hotel, or in the area, the cocktails here are a must. Be sure to check out the drink menu, too. There's lots of fun, creative, and classy drinks to be had.

My daughter and I ordered take-out from here the other night. The service was pleasant and very quick. Our edamame was hot and salty - although I thought it had a funny aftertaste - and our sushi rolls were fine - nothing spectacular but good enough for the discerning palates of my preschooler and her big sibs. The convenience factor was huge, I'd order here again.

Decent sushi, but not outstanding. More of a bar / lounge than a restuarant. Not ideal for kids, as their food comes from another restaurant and the waiter who brought it up didn't seem too happy about having to go back for ketchup!

  • Melissa M.

Yum! My husband and I both really loved the sushi here! We were staying at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort for our honeymoon, and we were thrilled to discover this awesome sushi lounge right in our hotel. The layout was open and inviting, the food was delicious and fresh, and the service was superb. The manager even came over to ask how we were enjoying our meal and sake. Another plus for us was that the sushi bar was open late (until 11pm, I believe), so it was perfect for unwinding after a long day at the parks. We actually ended up eating here to twice because we liked it so much. Great find! Highly recommended!

Great place for a late night drink. Does get crowded after 9:30 as the family come back from Universal & City Walk.
