Good yogurt. The taste was richer (possibly better ingredients??) than I'm used to, and that's a positive. We taste tested most of the flavors available, and ALL of them seemed to be better tasting and higher quality than your normal frozen yogurt place. Great location downtown on a hot weekend evening. Got a $1 coupon for 10oz. through Yelp, which was a good plus!

I would rate them ZERO star if I could. 2 yogurt cup and 1 boba drink for $20. WTF. That is way too pricey. Also, a lot of the flavor was down so we end up with less choice.

I really am not a big fro-yo fan. I just don't have the urge or need for sweets very often. BUT, when I do find a sweet treat I love I must profess it to the world! At the yelp soireea few months back I got my hands on their Mochi Balls. They are chilly to the touch. Smooth as....well they are smooth and silky. And then having a delicious flavored yogurt surrounded by that succulent soft dough ball, I can't tell you how excited I got. They also have red velvet yogurt that I found tasty, but really, nothing compares to their frosty, silky smooth, balls.

As we went out and about here at Church st. on a hot humid Orlando afternoon we came across Mochi Frozen Yogurt. When I think Mochi I think about that Japanese dessert, you know those small puffy, putty looking things their version of ice cream. Before going inside I was thinking okay Mochi froyo ?! Mochi creamed in a cup?! come on the name says it all right?! Wrong! we walked inside it's like part Pinkberry's and part Yogurtland. The only thing mochi here was the toppings :p I'm a fan of self-served yogurt joints and you get that here cuz you can put in whatever you want but of course there's a price to pay. My experience with the froyo itself is that the yogurt is not as rich and flavorful. This place is Mochi right? We even added Mochi bits for toppings and guess what?!? the cold from the yogurt made the Mochi hardened and it was kinda difficult to eat. We also added fruits like: blueberry, strawberry, coconut as always when, we go froyo. The yogurt here is pretty basic and their selection of yogurt flavors is very small. The prices here are similar like almost everywhere else. Overall 2.5 stars... You may want to avoid the mochi bits or anything gummy on your yogurt it may ruin your dentures.

This place featured things that reminded me of being in Asia(Taiwan in particular)! Thai iced coffee, mochi ice cream(a few different flavors available), and shaved ice were all extras that I didn't expect when going to a froyo place in Orlando, FL. Original tart and taro frozen yogurt is a plus, sadly not all froyo places carry either flavors! Fresh cut strawberries, canned pineapples and mandarin oranges though. Mochi pieces were a bit dry and tough, they might've been sitting out for a while and dried out. In conclusion, I'd come back to this place, it was a quaint, unique, and had lots of things there that I'd totally want if I was looking for some Asian dessert :)

Possibly the best frozen yogurt place in town. The reason: toppings. Lychee, fresh coconut, mandarine oranges, different types of small mochi, the list goes on an on. If not craving yogurt, check out a few large mochi ice cream flavors inside the refrigerator. My only complaint is the location; parking downtown is limited and expensive.

I have to say, I think I have been spoiled by another location as this one was not very impressive. Good things: Staff greeted us immediately and gave us taste cups to try each flavor of yogurt. They also asked if this was our first time visiting them. Huge plus! The yogurt selection was not all that amazing. I went with Strawberry and Chocolate mix. The toppings (maybe cause it was late at night) did not look all that appetizing and looked like they had been ravaged through by tons of people. I was sad they were out of granola and they didn't have yogurt chips =( Overall... just ok! Props to the 2 chicks working though, mad cool and informative!

It's not bad. I go because it's in my office building, but wouldn't go out of the way to go here. Props for: - Always a friendly "Welcome to Mochi!" - Always offering sample cups (but why can't they just be out on the counter like most fro-yo places?) - Always super duper clean (given the sticky counters, grody toppings and drippy machines I've seen at some places, thank youuuu mochi for always being immaculate) - Hot fudge - Usually some kinda crazy anime playing on the TV screens. I think it was Catbus last time I was in there - Offering coffee drinks. I think there are Yelp deals on these right now if you check in - Double punches on your Mochi card for Buy Local Orlando Yogurt flavor selection is usually just meh though - they have a limited number of yogurt machines and a limited number of toppings. I get it, downtown rent is $ but almonds and cheesecake are the most fundamental things EVER in the fro-yo world and I shouldn't have to ask for them. And the strawberries sometimes look a lil squishy, especially when hitting this place up late night. But I keep going because it's clean, they usually have some kind of chocolate flavor that is relevant to my interests and I can deal with walnuts in place of almonds in a pinch.

YUM! I'm really into the tart frozen yogurt. I'll normally judge a place based on how good their original flavor is and then move onto the flavors. Mochi's original tastes creamy, sweet, with that great tart undertone. The place switches around flavors but usually always have the original, vanilla, coconut, and taro. Even though I wish they had a better assortment or flavors, they have THE BEST topping variety! The other day I was there and I got Lychee's, fresh ripe mangos, kiwi, strawberry, and blackberries! So yummy! Especially compared to the fro yo in the area, Mochi is the best!

  • Omaira D.

I die for Mochi! Their toppings have always been fresh, the price is reasonable, they have a frequent buyer card that entitles you to free fro-yo, and the staff is super friendly, informative and helpful. The only reason they're not a 5 is because when they dont have the flavors I like, the options they do have I wouldnt touch. But I recommend their pralines & cream, vanilla, cookies & cream, cheesecake and red velvet! Love Love Love them!

  • Kathy D.

Can't go wrong with froyo! Its a great location if you're downtown and craving for something sweet. I'm not a tangy person, so I usually go for chocolate or vanilla, but they usually have a side for tangy flavors and a side for sweetness. Their topping selection is about the norm. I can't' remember if they had juice balls or not, but those are always the best to top with!

  • Regina F.

Listen up folks: Take quality over quantity and get some Mochi frozen yogurt. It doesn't matter that there are "only" like 8 flavors...you'll love every one of them. The 1:1 ratio of tart to sweet is perfectly fine. And the creaminess of all the flavors (read lack of ice crystals) means you'll have a delicious treat without brain freeze no matter how quickly you gobble up your peanut butter and taro mixture. The toppings are eccentric and range from cookie dough to juice balls to cereal to fruit to hot chocolate to Marshmallow sauce. Basically Mochi wil leave you satisfied and happy. The fact that there aren't multitudes of children running around screaming and putting their grimy little fingers in all the toppings/yogurt nozzles is also a plus. The place is as clean and shiny as a just-unwrapped Japanese flaying knife.

Seeing as I live downtown, this is the most convenient place for me to get frozen yogurt. Luckily for me, it also happens to be one of my favorite places to do so! My favorite thing about Mochi is that they have pound cake as a topping! Weird thing to judge a frozen yogurt place by, but man do I love eating some pound cake with most flavors of fro-yo. The only downside really, is that they have fewer selections of yogurt than other places such as Delish or Menchies. So there are some occasions where I need to go elsewhere to get my fix! Also, don't forget to get a punch card when you're there because after the 9th or 10th punch, your yogurt is free! Also, if you have a Buy Local Orlando card, you get an extra punch on your card!!

  • Andria W.

The employees were so nice and accommodating to our group of 40+ students on a Friday night! I didn't actually get to taste the yogurt, but the kids really enjoyed it. Of course they were so excited to taste some of the flavors before purchasing; I mean who wouldn't like free stuff... no, not just stuff... but free fro yo?! But, the different flavors and smorgasbord of toppings was a real treat for them. The only thing I don't like about this whole concept, is that Mochi's expects the consumer to exhibit some type of self control while building their own delightful creation. So much so that you really won't know how much you have to pay until you've piled on the toppings. Self control? Really? At a self-service frozen yogurt place?! Good luck! If your eyes are bigger than your stomach you could end up paying upwards of $5.00 for a cup of yogurt. Hmph! :-)

  • Amanda B.

Amazing concept! Mochi ice cream is usually a Japanese rice cake filled with ice cream...but here, it is the name of the frozen yogurt shop. They have a couple different flavors, which rotate. Upon entering, the workers practically threw 57 taster cups for me and my friends to try the different flavors. That helped so much! You get a standard cup and fill it with your yogurt, then you proceed to the topping bar and can add anything from actual mochi (:D) to yellow cake to blueberries. You can make it healthy or indulgent...or both? When you're doing topping your yogurt, you weigh your concoction and pay by the ounce. I love that idea. It's better than paying a set price for a cup of yogurt that could vary in size, prepared by someone else. I like being able to make my yogurt treat how I like it. I wish they had something like this in Chicagoland! We have tons of fro-yo but I haven't heard of a DIY fro-yo bar! If I'm ever in Orlando again, I'll make sure to come here.

  • Joe C.

Mochi has good frozen yogurt, and the location is nice and shiny, but there's something about it that just doesn't work for me. Maybe it's the almost clinical feeling of the place, but it just feels very impersonal. They have 6 (or was it 8) flavor options that they change out from day to day. Good flavors, but a smaller active selection than most other frozen yogurt places. Similarly, their topping selection is smaller as well. There's nothing *wrong* with Mochi, but there's just nothing really great about it either.

    (3)
  • Kim W.

There's nothing really unique about this fro-yo place. It gets bonus points for being next to Bento, which allows me to get my sushi and yogurt fix at the same time. However, this place really disappointed me because their mochi is actually the worst I've had (except for that time I tried to make some at home, but that's a different story)! If you happen to be downtown then this place will quell any yogurt cravings you're having, but I wouldn't make a special trip for it.

    (3)
  • Rayni K.

Not the best of the lot at all. It's nice to have a self-serve froyo place right in the downtown area, but, unless you're also doing something else in the area (like watch a movie at the Plaza Cinema Cafe, or catch a comedy show at Sak) it's really rather inconvenient. It has fewer flavors than most of the other places, and I thought the least they could do was make them the awesome-est few flavors ever, but nope. I wasn't impressed at all and struggled to decide on the two that I was going to mix. Why? The flavors just didn't stand out in the crowd. Any of the flavors they had, I could find elsewhere and of better quality. And for the price that they charge (the same as, or just slightly cheaper than, Menchies), they're not good enough. Topping variety is just like everywhere else, so it's neither a plus or a minus. To be honest, I wouldn't go back to Mochi unless I was really, really, reeeaaalllyyyyy craving a froyo and already in the area.

  • Melly M.

Friendly staff and we were greeted immediately and given sampling cups to try different yogurt. These girls make the place more fun, keep it up!!! I didn't like the selection of yogurt that much, I think they always have some of the flavors: Original, Taro, Mango then the last machine (from right) has some seasonal flavors, last time they had pecan and red velvet. I didn't like any of these flavors there except Pecan, I've been there twice and didn't find much flavors that I like there. Their mochi ice cream was not that good either, I had the red bean paste Mochi ice cream and I didn't taste anything. I'd go back to try more and also for its fun atmosphere.

50 reviews for a frozen yogurt spot? Wow let's see why this place is so popular oh yeah they sell self serve fro-yo, japanese mochi ice cream, and boba tea that once came from Bento's next door! Who doesn't love a self serve fro-yo? You can come up with a wonderful creation with those coconut flakes and strawberries or whatever you like! If anybody messes up on the fro-yo creation then it's all you..and you really can't blame yourself. The little fridge by the cashier is filled with mochi ice cream balls. Oh yeah you need to try one, they have a variety of flavors such as green tea, strawberry, vanilla, taro and it's basically ice cream balls wrapped around in light pounded rice (mochi!) Almond joy boba tea...I think I said enough here because seriously where else can you find this flavor? It's AMAZING, kinda like one of those love at first sip type of drinks. Come here to enjoy your swirly decadence or to catch a boba drink especially if you are in Downtown.

Had Mochi last night for the first time and it was great! I loved how I was able to sample each flavor several times before making my decision on which I wanted. You can then either top it off with fresh fruits or if you prefer, decadent sweets to put on top of your yogurt. (the one thing I didn't enjoy was the person in front of me didn't know what one of the things was an brought the spoon up to her nose to smell it - such bad manners!) The yogurt flavors they offered were Original, Taro, Almond, Piña Colada and Peanut Butter. I enjoyed the slight bitterness in the Almond one and had it with just whipped cream. You buy by the ounce and the cups are quite large so fill it up with what you desire and enjoy some Mochi.

Oh Mochi Mochi Mochi! How I love thee and wish I could visit you more often but trying to be good! But wait a second? You have non fat, no sugar yogurt selections? What?! Ok I am there! This is what I love about you: 1) You are downtown and within walking distance of where I live and work 2) You give samples before I decide what I want - thank you 3) I love that I can still grab a sample, but then just buy Mochi balls (those are great! Esp the Green Tea & Mango flavor!) 4) Your staff is very kind and helpful, I think they always have smiles on their faces :) 5) Very cool decor and bright inside! So go mochi yourself, make sure to try those mochi balls!

I love the Lychee yogurt here and the jelly that they sometimes have..it's amazing The funny thing about this place is, the mochi SUCKS. I'm telling you guys, that's by far the worst mochi i've ever heard and i'm Asian. It's not because I have these high standards of mochi or anything, haha, but I know what mochi tastes like. Gonna have to agree with Kim below. The ice cream mochi isn't good either...the last couple of times that i've had it, they were old (you can tell by how soft the outer layer is...when it's crumbly...it's been there for a while). Aside from the mochi toppings, and the mochi ice cream, I love this place! Sometimes they validate which is cool, but by the time I go, they've run out.

Mochi is actually a sweet Japanese rice cake usually filled with sesame paste, but lately I have seen them at places like Beard Pappa's filled with ice cream. However, what Mochi frozen yogurt is known for is their self-serve frozen yogurt bar. Where you grab a cup choose between a few flavors of frozen yogurt (I like original), and make your way to their toppings bar (I like fruit). Then they weigh your yogurt and you pay per ounce. The yogurt reminds me of the frozen yogurt I tried in Korea last summer. The original actually tastes like yogurt (aka the Dannon or Yoplait kind of yogurt), so it's tangy and a bit sour. The other flavors they feature usually rotate but I have seen Kiwi, peanut butter, Taro Root, red velvet, and strawberry banana. Their fruit selection is AWESOME. They have freshly cut strawberries, kiwis, mangoes, blue, black, and raspberries. And they also have various syrups (chocolate, caramel, sweetened condensed milk) candies, dry cereals, mochi, and cakes that you can also use to top your creation. Two large cups full of yogurt and toppings costs about 10$ after they are weighed, but the experience and freshness of the fruit alone is worth it! Also, if you stick to the fruit and original yogurt it is fat free :D !

Mochi is a nice little break from work or a good place to have a pre or post movie snack. I have to say, I'm normally not a fan of frozen yogurt. At least not this type of yogurt. However, I LOVE this stuff! I've tried a couple of different flavors and the peanut butter totally rocks my socks. What's nice about Mochi is that almost anyone can enjoy it. People that want a healthy snack can add good (read: healthy) things from the toppings bar, like fruit and granola. And others that want something sweet and GOOD (read: unhealthy) can add peanut butter cups, sugary cereal, etc. The few times I've been in the workers have offered us sample cups right away and then ask if you have any questions. So that's a major plus. The part you should know is you pay by weight. Just remember that if you decide to get crazy at the toppings bar. The more you put on, the more you pay. Mochi changes out their flavors pretty often and announces it on Twitter (@mymochiyogurt) which is awesome thing to see when you're checking Twitter, plus it puts it in my head that I want it THEN! :)

There really isn't enough frozen yogurt in the world, Orlando has decided. Therefore, it instituted a policy that one must be located within a mile of another one. Mochi is the familiar fro-yo concept of: -Get a cup -Dump six flavors of frozen yogurt into it -Slap as many toppings as possible on top from a "salad bar" of at least 5,000 ingredients such as Captain Crunch, fresh fruit, candy and jellies -Pay for it by weight -Sit down and attempt to eat your atrocious creation without gagging Maybe it was a bad night when I visited, but the Taro flavor somehow got into the Plain & Boring flavor which ruined my fantastic concoction. I don't appreciate cross contamination when it comes to something as important as fro-yo flavor. The location is good: Downtown in the Plaza building on Orange Avenue and within stumbling distance of Bar Row. I can't imagine anything better than throwing dairy on top of a belly filled with Jägermeister. There's really nothing new to see here. Venture in if you're particularly fond of Tarot.

I love this place so much! The variety of flavors, and the variety of toppings! Every single flavor tastes great! I love the taro flavor, and I love putting my favorite toppings on it as well!! It's hard to go wrong with this place! They even have mochi icecream! They may not have as many flavors as other frozen yogurt places, but this place, hands down, has got the best flavors and toppings!

How I managed to live without Mochi for so long blows my mind. Now I haven't been to too many fro-yo joints in my life, but I think this one has already stolen my heart. Now the other ones I have been too do seem to have more yogurt selection, Mochi's Original flavor steals my soul. I'm not a big chocolate person so I don't give their first topping section much mind, but their fruit/berry section is another story. I have NEVER seen blackberries so plump and juicy before in my life. My staple seems to have become original flavor, granola, blackberries, raspberries, and honey. Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!!!! During my last visit (which was an hour ago) I denied my tasting cup, when the very nice worker said "Are you sure? We just got pumpkin in and it is wonderful" How can I deny that??? So I tried the pumpkin flavor, and oh Sweet Lord, it rocked my taste buds. It's not going to be around for long so I don't feel bad about cheating on my Original flavor. On top of everything else, all the employees are so freaking friendly and attentive! Plus I love the atmosphere and vibe! The little clear, funky, bar stool things just make it so much more grander. Man, i gotta go back...Now.

I was going to the movies that is located directly above Mochi's and I look over to my family and go, were going here after the movie! It was kinda ironic how we went to have frozen yogurt on a cold, windy night. It was like 45 degrees out! (Cold for us Floridians!) Well we went in, and I had actually been wanting to find one of those trendy little yogurt shops, and I was thrilled to see there was one here! Mochi offers new flavors, and yummy toppings every week. The flavors go from original to cookies cream ( They do change every week!). The toppings are usually around the fruits and candy category. You leave happy, and light. It isn't like going to a Dairy Queen or Ben&Jerry's where you leave feeling like you added 5 lbs! I am recommending this place 100% and am definitely going next time I have a chance!

Mochi, where have you been all my life? Rather, why haven't I been to Mochi sooner? Having been by it so many times, I should be ashamed of myself for not having gone in sooner. But thankfully after last night, I can officially say I'm a proud Mochi customer. Things I love: -You can sample the flavors until the cows come home -They change on a regular basis -They taste delicious and not watered down or amped up with sugar And oh the toppings bar -- how I wish you existed in my home! I played it safe and went with the granola and chocolate chips which made my Dulce de Leche & Peanut Butter treat even more amazing. Next time, I'll go more hard core and add hot fudge, brownie bites and some oreos. And I can say with certainty, there will be many next times! The prices were fair, the service was awesome and most importantly, my belly was extremely happy!

I watched as my friends formed a flying V and charged into the insanely busy store. Yes-- it was a Saturday night and yes-- it was around 8 pm. I watched from the stools up front, scared to go any further. The store itself is simple. Surrounded by a bustling and dark downtown Orlando, the colors here are bright, cheerful, and not cluttered with unnecessary furniture. About 10 frozen yogurt flavors are at the rear with a variety of sweet, crunchy, fruity, or sticky toppings to add nearby-- and of course, mochi toppings. You can also order a boba drink too. I got jealous. Into the crowd I went and grabbed a cup, filled it with taro froyo (taro?? my Asian self got all giddy) and chocolate bits and fruit. 45 cents an ounce. Definitely! The cashier was very distracted with the crowd around me, but still managed to pick out my friend in the crowd who was waiting for a boba drink he had ordered. I just wish there were more froyo flavors to choose from (but it has TARO! Awesome!) and more fruit toppings...

    (4)
  • Michelle K.

There's something about froyo--that's for sure! But Mochi leaves me wanting more. The ambiance has total Japanese flair but the lack of flavors makes me want to go elsewhere. On a positive note, if you do find a flavor Mochi has gone and done us all a favor the creaminess of this froyo joint is one to savor!!

  • Jessica V.

I was very spoiled when I lived in Altamonte and had my wonderful Berrywise FroYo (RIP) right around the corner, so now I judge all froyo places to Berrywise... This place is nice and clean and the yogurt is super delicious, but the flavors aren't too creative. Although nothing beats Taro with mochi! LOVE taro! Maybe I'll walk down and grab a cup...

  • Nick J.

Great place for a post-movie snack. Really enjoyed the cheesecake fro-yo with fresh blackberries and kiwi. Also had the vanilla loaded with butterfinger, Reeses pieces, Oreo, twix. It's a straight forward fro-yo place with great implementation of a relatively new concept - self serve fro-yo with tons of toppings, and you pay by the ounce, it's genius in it's simplicity and ability for personalization.

  • Jeff O.

Yay-yeh! Cool yogurt place that looks like an Apple Store. Don't they all, Walter? S'all self serve. The Irish Mint was just like soft serve mint ice cream to me. Is it really fat free? How many calories are in this, Bambi? Didn't care for the Taro root, which tastes like cookie dough made from mother Earth. Where da Chocolate at? Boo. Plenty of unhealthy toppings, including the star of the "candy bar line-up"... Twix! Weight by the ounce, which is reasonable. Lucite furniture for your mild discomfort. Overall, a good stop before or after a movie in the plaza. Save $40 on movie theater food and eat a snack here.

  • Matthew L.

We can't stop going here. And when we get in, we can't stop eating the delicious, delicious frozen yogurt. My girlfriend and I go with the flimsiest excuses, and we keep dragging our friends out to try it because A) We want to spread the love, and B) It's another excuse to eat Mochi. The flavors change all the time, and the available toppings are fantastic. Add to that the fact that it's really not that unhealthy and it's pretty inexpensive, and, well... it's addictive, lemme tell ya. Go and enjoy.

With the opening of Mochi Frozen Yogurt in the Plaza, Orlando now has a proper self-serve froyo joint. A good one, at that. Mochi offers a rotating selection of flavors, from original tart to green tea to chocolate to taro to various fruit options. Toppings are the usual selection of fresh fruit and candies. For those more familiar with Ce Fiore and Gurtzberry, Mochi is a self-serve operation and charges per ounce. The upside of this is that it's very easy to mix-and-match flavors and toppings. The froyo itself is universally tasty and well-textured--no ice chucks here. The toppings, similarly, are fresh and yummy. The decor is what we've come to expect from froyo places--bright, playful and with liberal use of many types of plastic. Mercifully, the seating is reasonably comfortable in spite of its modernity. Mochi is open late--until at least midnight, and makes for a nice snack after a movie or before moving on to your second bar of the night. It's certainly better than downtown's ubiquitous late-night pizza.

Great selection of toppings but you need them, most of the yogurt I tried tasted like nothing.

This Fro Yo craze is outta control!!! Having said that, I enjoyed Mochi's alot. The staff greeted us upon entering, and the place look remarkable clean. After sampling a few flavors, I settled on the strawberry/banana mix with a little vanilla added on top. There's plenty of toppings to choose from. I went with cookie dough and some cheesecake crumbs! The yogurt itself is advertised as "tart"...which is different than I'm used to, but still tasty. You pay by weight. There located in a good spot (Plaza) which makes it a great stop after seeing a movie or SAK show. I will be back for more!

Love Love Love Mochi (the frozen yogurt shop not the rice cake)!! This is my favorite frozen yogurt place in the area and I have tried quite a few. The yogurt is creamy and tangy. The flavors are not crazy sweet like I have had at other places. They have a wide selection of toppings. The fruit toppings always seem fresh. Double yum!!

I love coming to Mochi when I am downtown. The toppings are always fresh and the yogurt is delicious! I love the Strawberry & Kiwi...Taro is great....during the holidays the Pumpkin was to die for!

It isn't my favorite Fro Yo Location, but it sure is amazing. THEY HAVE PUMPKIN FROYO. I loved it. It tasted like a delish pumpkin pie, I put some graham crackers on top and it made me want to sing a holiday tune as i was walking down orange ave. Then i realized that I didn't want to look like I was a craycray homeless dude singing to myself...so i just headed back down the street with some pumpkin in my life and a smile on my face. Thank you for bringing the holidays to life.

Ate at the new Mochi Frozen Yogurt on Friday, and I made believers out of the friends I brought with me! A cute location, and a fun funky vibe as you walk in the door. The only thing that could have made it more perfect was more yogurt machines! They have rotating flavors, whenever one runs out they clean the machine and replace it with a new flavor. I had a chocolate peanut butter mix, topped in chocolate covered cookie dough and pound cake. It was incredible! And I had just enough, for less than three dollars! the cups are HUGE, and my friend filled his with nine ounces of stuff for less than $5. Real competition for the Dessert Lady, as we constantly discuss the need for a walk away ice cream placed downtown, but this is better!

Love it! Good tart, "serve-yourself" fro-yo... Tried the Coconut, Taro, and original Very friendly staff. Definitely will return when I'm in the area..

Self serve pinkberry style yogurt. The self service adds a fun dimension because you can choose how the toppings go on and you won't have to command the yogurteur to ADD MORE FRUITY PEBBLES! I'm partial to the cereal yogurt, which consists of Cap'n Crunch and Fruity Pebbles, but there's a ton of combos you can create. You can choose if you want a healthy snack: plain yogurt with fruit, or a more decadent dessert: cheesecake yogurt with... cheesecake? It's up to you.

i can finally get froyo downtown!!! i love their mango yogurt with fresh mango and mochi toppings. SO GOOD!!! the staff are very friendly and enthusiastic offering taste cups and telling us their favorite flavors. however, i'm not sure if i'm not sure if i'll get mochi ice-cream here because they look just like the ones i can get at the asian grocery store.. I wish they bring back their smaller cups!

This is my fave fro-yo place because of the BOBA option! Bento Cafe the related sushi spot next door used to carry boba tea drinks, but ended that last year because they needed the space to make more sushi. Can't get too mad at that, but I REALLY missed my downtown bobas. Well, I'm happy to report the bobas are back strong at Mochi now and they are just as yummy! You get your basic flavors (Red Bean, Strawberry, etc.) or the cute combos they create like Starburst & Hugs. I tend to stay away from the chocolatey flavors, even tho I love chocolate. They just don't work for me with boba. Also, you can get milk tea, slushies (no milk) or smoothies (frozen milk teas). As for the fro-yo, I hear complaints about lack of flavors. I know other places line their walls, but at Mochi, you get one flavor each time you visit -- they typically have six available PLUS you can do a twist of the two flavors right next to each other. So in effect, you have 9 flavors to choose from at any given time. And although they always carry original & Taro, they switch 'em up every so often. I happen to very much enjoy the fresh fruit flavors, like Honeydew & Pineapple, and love the creamy desserty stuff like Dulce de Leche. But the big plus that takes the cake for me is that they have WHIPPED TOPPING!!!! Ask for it -- they'll bring out the can & spray as much as you want! That makes this place a winner to me. By the way, if any of the other fro-yo spots do this, too, do let me know!

I like this frozen yogurt joint. It's convenient when I go downtown to hang out and I like their original tart. They do not have a lot of flavors and the first thing I noticed when I had my first taste of Mochi's was that their spoon is matte/textured. Pretty weird! Try it and see.

This place was cute and the service was great. The girls working there on the night I went were friendly and super helpful, especially since we had no idea what we were doing! It's all self-serve, so it's a bit overwhelming for a newbie. They gave us a ton of sample cups and let us just go crazy tasting everything, from yogurt to toppings. I got a mix of the red velvet cake topped with brownies and mango/strawberry swirl topped with fresh strawberries. Their topping bar was massive and I liked that the fruit was all fresh - none of that syrupy stuff! They weigh your order and charge accordingly. I had just over 6oz and paid just over $2.00, which seems like a good deal to me! I can see it getting pricey quickly if you go overboard, though...

While nothing about the yogurt selection or atmosphere really stands out from other places like this, Mochi does the little things to keep it a small notch above most. For starters, they have a great toppings bar with pretty much anything you could want, including poundcake and tons of different fruits. My favorite part about Mochi is that they are open until midnight during the week and 2 on the weekends. No other froyo place around here can say that! Nice job, Mochi, keep burning that midnight oil.

Taro is my standard but every flavor is super yummy. Stays fresh in the freezer so I take it home, just ask for a top.

I went to Mochi the other day with my fully stamped card to get my 10th free fro-yo and when I asked for a parking validation ticket the young girl behind the counter informed me very rudely that there is now a $10 minimum. I pointed to my card and told her that I was a loyal customer and she said that there are families that come in and spend way more than me and they deserve them. Really? It's 45 cents an ounce. I don't ever spend more than $5 and now u want me to pay $9 to park? I don't think so. Thank you to the bartender at Pipers who gave me a validation ticket. Mochi, I'll go somewhere with a parking lot.

This place is delicious! Can we say fun times in your mouth! Yes with Mochi! This place is tucked away in the middle of downtown under the Plaza theater. The frozen yogurt is so mouth watering and they have a variety of toppings. Which include fresh fruit like mango, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, peach, etc. Then they also have the candy toppings too. I'm more a fan of the fruit toppings. I really liked that this place is green! Everything they use, the cups, spoons, etc., is all recyclable and made out of recycled material. Nothing like having some yummy desert and contributing to saving the earth all in one night! Perfect!

I love this type of yogurt. It is the perfect after meal food. Cool, tart, and refreshing. This place is hip too. Definitely "big city". Located downtown. Parking is not that convenient, but they validate. Toppings are great. Not kid friendly. Try the purple sweet potato flavor.

the service is very nice. The employees that works there are nice and welcoming. The yogurts are very good. They changes flavors of the yogurts. Their toppings are good and healthy some are not but some are healthy. they have movies there for customers to watch. And if you eat 8, you can 1 free! Im a big fan. I havent gain any pounds for eating their yogurts so thats a plus.

I am obsessed with this place! The only thing I don't understand is why they expect you to tip them; I mean, it's a SELF-SERVE yogurt place. All they are doing is refilling the toppings and taking your money. And they watch you like a hawk!

If you have never had it before, Mochi's Taro flavor is AMAZING. They offer a large variety of fro-yo flavors, as well as a good selection of toppings (which include lots of fresh fruit!!). Pay by weight, so it can become a bit expensive for 'ice-cream', however I typically pay under $5 each visit. They offer Boba tea as well, which I tried and discovered I am not a fan of. Fun place to have a cool treat!

Dropped in here for a little dessert after sushi. Place is cool and the yogurt is great! Staff is really friendly and there is a lot to pick from. Toppings were really good. Clean and quiet. Easy stop after lunch in the plaza.

Who needs froyo in the middle of the workday? That's right, everyone. Mochi is here to fill that need. I can walk to this spot from my firm's downtown Orlando office. I think this location has a few less yogurt dispensers than a larger mochi location, but toppings are still plentiful and maybe it isn't a great idea to eat that much froyo in the middle of the work day anyway.

I love this little place and it's location is ideal for a movie, froyo, date night! Any froyo place that carries TARO as a flavor is a true winner in my book - something about that purple goodness has my heart! I was a little disappointed when I came to find that they didn't also carry the standard plain flavor... can't win them all! Anyways, we frequented this place twice in two days while vacationing in Orlando primarily because of their sweet June deal! You get two free ounces of yogurt with no minimum purchase. Also, their toppings are always fresh and plentiful and they also carry a delicious mochi selection that come in a variety of flavors. Their mochi red bean ice cream is truly a spectacle. The two days I was there, it seemed that they only kept about 80% of their machines in use... about three were empty. Not sure if this is a standard happening or temporary. They had one froyo option that was closer to a sorbet (pomegranate flavor) and the others were: taro, coconut, vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter. I enjoy visiting a frozen yogurt place ideally located with deals, good selection, plenty of topping options, and good prices! I will return :) Cheers.

My new fave place! I didn't even realize this was frozen yogurt, it was so good. They don't have many flavor options but the ones they do have are all good and have really intense flavor. They charge by the ounce and have a toppings bar with tons of stuff to choose from. Definitely going back here!

  • Adam M.

Take note...if you go for yogurt and they cheerfully tell you they validate parking...you will still pay a minimum of five dollars to park! They've already raised their prices -- almost $5 for a few ounces of froyo and an additional $5 parking charge?? No thanks. I understand that the establishment has no control over the parking charges; however, they do have control over what their employees know and tell customers. The employees seemed to not know how little their validation takes off the ticket (only $1 if you're there between 15 minutes and 1 hour.) If they had simply told me this -- or just told me that they don't validate parking -- I would have raced back up to my car and not have had to pay. Thanks for nothing.

Menchies is pretty consistent. It is always tasty and the self service ensures the customer gets exactly the amount of yogurt and toppings they want. Not much else to say!

I was not very happy when I walked into Bento Cafe and found that they no longer carry Boba tea. As I was leaving, I noticed Mochi directly next door and decided to see what they had due to the proximity. I was flabbergasted to learn that they served milk tea. I was more shocked to learn that they actually carry pineapple. I started to talk to the associate behind the counter and conveyed how shocked I was that they had pineapple milk tea since very few places other than Bento Cafe ever carried that flavor. She laughed and told me that Mochi is owned by the same people that own Bento Cafe. While I am not usually oblivious to the world around me, this was one of those times and I cannot believe it didn't click ahead of time. This scene lasted much less time than the time it took to convey it to you...sorry. I ordered my pineapple milk tea with boba and ran out since I was parked in a 15 minute loading zone. Oh, it was good...the memories...

Some days you just need a fro-yo! I was downtown in Orlando and had this irrational ice cream craving. Mochi was close by and satiated my frozen dessert craving nicely. I sampled a few flavors and found out that the pistachio frozen yogurt is a local favorite. There was a small line at the yogurt machine just for that flavor. You can get little samples in condiment size cups to try the flavors, just ask the cashier. I sampled pistachio, dark chocolate, and taro. The taro flavor was my favorite. It had that sweet-tart yogurt bite, similar to *Pinkberry's "original" flavor yogurt (*just a side note I miss you Pinkberry, you are the best yogurt but Mochi did a pretty good job coming in second). The yogurt cups here are pretty huge, and the yogurt and toppings are charged per the ounce. Once you've created your yogurt in the cup you will weigh it on a small scale by the register. The cashier cautioned me that if I make a big dessert in the giant cup that it will probably cost $10. I didn't really want that much yogurt anyway, but I did want to try the yogurt and some toppings. So the toppings...I was happy to find out that they had Fruity Pebbles cereal, marshmallow cream topping, Rice crispy treat toppings, fresh blackberries, fresh strawberries, fresh kiwi and mango. All this fruity goodness is really what I was after. I went easy on the yogurt but I loaded up on the fruit, very refreshing! I like this little frozen yogurt spot downtown. Mochi has a cute, shiny plastic interior that's probably an ideal surface for a shop filled with lots of sugar. It looks bright and shiny and easy to keep clean.

Awesome... Love the Mochi Bon Bon... Ice cream wrapped in rice paper. Croissant donuts with taro cream drizzle... Omg! Very convenient to The Bohemian Hotel... Right next to the theater.

I only come here for the mochi ice cream, so i'll be reviewing that. In my opinion, this is THE place to go to get mochi ice cream. I've been to boba tea places where a couple of them started selling mochi ice cream, but these places sell them for $3 per ice cream, whereas here they sell it $2.50 for 3. So right off the bat, that's amazing. Though i will say that i wish that they had one or two more locations in Orlando so that i don't have to drive all the way to this place for the ice cream; i only come here for it when i'm actually downtown which isn't often. Another semi-bad thing is that they only have 6 flavors, but two of them are pretty unique: red bean and green tea. They also have vanilla, chocolate, mango, and strawberry. The red bean is sweet, but the greent tea kind of tasted...off? To me, it had a earth-y, dirt taste, if that makes sense. But my friend loved it. Another thing to note: they sell boba tea as well! They have basic flavors, but they do have red bean milk tea which i've never seen at any other boba tea place. The reasons why i've never tried the boba tea here: they charge $3.99 for a small and $4.99 for a large which is pretty expensive in my opinion; i'm used to my large size being around $4. Also, i've tried boba tea at frozen yogurt places before and they've never been good, so...no thanks. Side note: their frozen yogurt isn't anything special. Typical flavors with typical toppings. BUT they do play Harry Potter often do it's good to get some mochi ice cream and chill for a bit while watching some HP.

I'm always disappointed that they often do not have product that is on their menu. They seem to be always out of snow and have limited flavors of mochi. As for yogurt, it is very basic for a yogurt shop. The hours are great when you're watching a movie at Cobb. The service is usually great. But these alone are not enough for me to continue to frequent the business. If you're in the mood for yogurt, then it certainly is an acceptable place to go. Be prepared to hear 'no' when you ask for snow or some flavors of mochi.

This is a very convenient location downtown, but it doesn't quite live up to the other fro-yo spots around town. The decor is the standard bright colors and white plastic furniture with plenty of tables inside. They offer 8 different rotating flavors which have always been really yummy. Their topping bar has the usual suspects but is smaller then most I've seen. They also serve boba tea and give you an abundance of pearls, but I was disappointed that they don't have milk tea, which is one of the most common flavors. I haven't tried them but they also serve mochi ice cream. They have a rewards system that you sign into with your phone number but I have purchased from them on at least 4 different occasions and yet to receive any kind of reward or confirmation. The girl at the counter even said it doesn't really do anything which was disappointing.

FroYo is the new Chinese delivery. I can say pretty confidently that 98.5% of all take-out/delivery Chinese places - you know, that get their red-and-white containers and sauce packets and fortune cookies (and most likely food) from the exact same source - are indistinguishable from each other, and that if you were to blind taste any of them you wouldn't be able to pick them out of a lineup. Yeah, froyo is becoming the new... that. They all have the same white glossy plastic postmodern feel with bright highlights and weird looking chairs. And they're absolutely everywhere. And many of them use pre-made mixes to create their flavors. If you can find one that's not like that, then stick with it. This one may be similar, but it was lacking a little in the toppings. It wasn't awful though. Just didn't stand out. It is stumbling distance from most of the bars in the core downtown area, so that's something. But who gets drunk and then eats froyo? What's wrong with you?

Check in on Yelp & get $1 OFF! My wife and I both got a decent size bowl for a total of $6.50 for the both of us. I really have to highly recommend the Taro flavor. Had never tasted it before and after looking up what taro is (kinda like a potato) I wouldn't have expected such great flavor from that. Taro & blueberry seemed like a perfect pairing and it was!

I found hair in the fruits. And they NEVER have snow even though there's two signs advertising it. It's good and convenience but def not the greatest. A little effort and it could be a hit in their spot.

I got a mango boba green tea for 3.99 here and it was good. Initial impressions: Much more sugar than I'm used to. Good enough if you're in the area.

My favorite fro-yo joint! My first experience with them was in Gainesville, and they've had a special place on my palate ever since -- it's like I imprinted on them. Seriously, I may try tons of other fro-yo places, but I'll always come back to Mochi. Here's the deal: Step 1: Admire the adorable atmosphere and check out what Disney movies/anime they're playing. Step 2: Grab some sample cups from the girl behind the counter. Step 3: Try EVERYTHING. Step 4: Get yo-self some delicious fro-yo! Go crazy and release the mad scientist/chef you've been keeping locked up. Step 5: Toppings. And lots of it. There's a bar of candies, fruits, and drizzles waiting for you. Step 6: Weigh it and pay it! Get a stamp card and work your way to free fro-yo. Step 7: Dig in and feel guilt free (fro-yo is still healthy if it's topped with chocolate and gummy bears, right? :P). Their Taro is my absolute favorite and I cannot get enough of it! It's got a light, fresh flavor with just a bit of tang. I'm not a big fan of topping my fro-yo with too much candy, so I stick to adding mochi (adds a fun gumminess to the whole thing), fresh fruit, and mini-chocolate chips. Mmm! My only complaint would have to be the freshness of the fruit -- in Gainesville, they're usually cut fresh, but they looked a little sad and wilted here. If your sweet tooth still hasn't been satiated, try one of their mochi ice cream balls (green tea is my fave). Delicious ice cream wrapped in a chewy rice candy -- it's a bite of heaven. Lol. Still haven't tried their boba, but that's a trip for another day. Best part? They're located one floor down from the Plaza Cinema Cafe and across the plaza from Kasa! So I love hitting them up after a movie or for a (relatively) healthy dessert. I only wish they were situated in a driver-friendly area; parking Downtown is always such madness. lol.

The best value for frozen yogurts downtown. If you're a Gator, you know Mochi is a Gainesville staple. The quality and concept is identical. I love their sugar free options, and that every day they change offerings. After a hot day, nothing quite compares! Try their mango flavored yogurt, it is to die for.

So this was our first time coming here and overall we really enjoyed it. They have this quirky and bright decor as soon as you walk in. They have a limited selection of froyo: taro (has a weird tangy taste, not quite for me), red velvet cake, vanilla, chocolate, coconut, and two others that I can't remember. They had the toppings that my husband and I love, yogurt chips, waffle cone bits, cookie dough balls, marshmallows, and an authentic actual hot fudge (not a Hershey's syrup type that I feel like I get when I go to Sweets in the Waterford Lakes Plaza). My absolute favorite froyo is the coconut. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the coconut mixed with chocolate and red velvet cake. The only thing is, it does seem a little pricey compared to other froyo locations. But if you check in on Yelp you get a coupon for $1 off.

Probably the best froyo in town, Mochi on Orange Ave is always clean, the staff is always friendly and there are rarely screaming children. As an added bonus, they usually have tarot flavored frozen yogurt which is the best! You get $1 off for checking in!
