I give Lime's owner a lot of credit. After my original review offered 3 stars, the owner politely thanked me for the review and told me that he hoped I would try them again. He (she?) clearly wanted to earn the additional star or two and was willing to stand behind the quality of his restaurant to do so. I returned the other day and was not disappointed, this time opting to dine in, with two teens in tow. I ordered a mahi fajita and, while I may have lamented being hungry after my first visit, the fajita did not leave me wanting. I enjoyed it and found it filling. Also, when I noted that I did not have any tortilla chips (I thought they came with everything on the menu), the floor attendant quickly filled a basket and brought it to me. As I do not eat red meat or poultry, and Chipotle does not offer fish or tofu, Lime will be seeing much more of me!

I have to say that the food here wasn't good at all. The tortillas/tacos are dry and the meat is dry. Specially the fish tacos. Everything else is just blah. If Mexican food guidelines are not followed, you should at least aim to be close or better than Chipotle or Tijuana flats. The only reason why I gave this place a 3 and not a 2 is because the staff is friendly and the managers are attentive. Maybe some real Mexicans in the kitchen might help? I will give this place another try. Hopefully the food is a lot better next time.

Not a great meal... The fajita was extremely basic and bland. The atmosphere is cool, but the service is very relaxed and I saw many health issues just from my 45 minutes of eating. I'll just stick to Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza next door!

Wasn't impressed. Cheese dip was unique never had anything like it. Decent. guacamole...nothing to write home about...lacked in flavor. Fajitas...total miss. They cooked the green peppers separate and onions separate and chicken separate? Then put it on the plate as if they were all side items... I thought fajitas cooked as a mixture of veggies and chicken or at least that's what I hoped for. I did do the above as a TO GO order so maybe if I dined in it would have been better? Maybe.

Wandered into this place for a quick lunch the other day. I would go again cuz the fish tacos were pretty good, a tad bit dry- but the flavor was nice. Pros: Fish tacos, fast and friendly service, pretty cheap, nicely decorated with indoor and outdoor seating, vegetarian substitutions for everything Cons: Key lime pie sucks, nachos are just so-so I would go again for the fish tacos. They were probably the second best I have had in town.

Very fresh fish tacos and pretty good pico de gallo. Great frozen sangria. Nice casual atmosphere.

I have been here a few times. The food was mixed. The steak taco was good. We also had fish and chicken tacos and they were both over cooked and dry. Service was good and friendly but they still have a lot of work to do.

Too expensive. Staff is not attentive. Food is okay at best.

Copycat of Tijuana Flats. You order your food the same, they have the same hot sauce bar and the same casual one-step up-from-Taco-Bell ambience. The only difference was that they had a salsa bar, they were much larger and instead of screaming your name and wandering around when your food is ready, they give you a lime with a number on it. The staff was very friendly and the manager was super attentive. The fish tacos were good. The cheese queso was good but I preferred Tijuana Flats queso. Also, instead of you having to pump out sauce at the hot bar and have ten cups and get confused about which is which, you can actually take the bottle of hot sauce to your table. That way when the sauce is good, you can go "Which one is this? Oh, Cholula Chile Lime. Nice." Super busy place. It's right next to O'Charleys in that plaza chock full of ninety-million restaurants and stores. The music was SO loud. They played annoying 90s crappy music like "Baby Got Back" and, of course, people wanted to sing to it. I heard another table say the music was super loud too. Too lazy to get up and say anything. I prefer Tijuana Flats. Their food is just a little bit better and it's the exact same idea.

Had a great lunch experience today at Lime Fresh. I've been here about 3-4 times previously... but the thing I was MOST impressed with today was the level of service. Friendly, competent service from the time we walked in the door through the moment we exited. Drinks offered while we were waiting in line... friendly cashier with a great smile... food was brought out in a reasonable amount of time... drink refills offered... door held open for us as we left. Top notch service. I've tried several food items here. Bacon and Bean Quesadillas, Steak Quesadilas, steak Lime burrito... and today I tried the Cantina Steak Salad. All of the items I've tried have been good, fresh tasting Mexican-inspired food. I can't say it's absolutely the best Mexican food I've ever had in my life... but it's good to very good. Knowing that the meat is humanely raised is a plus. The salsa bar is also a big plus! The fresh salsas are on par with the best around (Baja Burrito Kitchen) - especially the pico de gallo. And they also offer a large variety of the hotter specialty hot sauces in bottles (similar to Tijuana Flats). So they combine the best features of their competitors. There are many similar Mexican-style food places around... Chipotle, Baja Burrito Kitchen, Moe's, Tijuana Flats. I would say that Lime Fresh ranks near the TOP of these: Better than Moe's and better than Tijuana Flats, more variety than Chipotle... probably most similar to Baja Burrito Kitchen. The price range is near the top of these as well... but if the high level of service stays consistent - then I'm willing to pay an extra 50 cents or dollar for my lunch. Supposedly they are opening another outlet in the Winter Park area which is nearer to my house. So I will add it into my weekend/dinner rotation - as it's already near my workplace and in my lunch rotation.

This place won't blow you away but it's not bad either. Nice decor inside, seem to be clean and prices were reasonable for this area. I got out for $12 with a drink for lunch. This is better than Chipotle with more variety. The assortment of salsas and hot sauce was interesting. Lime Fresh is a great place to go with the guys during lunch or on an inexpensive date with your wife or husband.

Mixed feelings thus far... Lime seems like they are going for trendy theme but really it's fast food. The interior is nice and the outside seating looks pretty good, almost like an urban utopia. Can the food match up? Basically your either getting tacos or a burrito here. The choices of tacos is a good variety but can be pricey at about $3 per taco. I had two different tacos. The fish taco was surprisingly really good. The fish was fried though so that's probably why. I also had a steak taco that sounded pretty fancy but was pretty tasteless. Just not much flavor at all. The tacos came stuffed into a bowl with some tortilla chips. A bowl was weird cause it was rough trying to get the tacos out without having all the filling go everywhere. For my two tacos and a soda, my bill was around $10. For your food and chips, there's a salsa bar consisting of about 6 different salsas ranging from mild to hot. I found most to be pretty mild except the "hot" one which was almost too hot. There were alright though. Lime also had a large amount of hot sauce bottles although I'm sure most of them you've never heard of and I'm not going try and open half of them to see how hot each one was. I mean, I'm not going to read the ingredient on each one and say "oh, I'd like this one". Overall, the place was nice and clean. The staff was super nice. The food was aaaaalright but with some tweaks this place could become a regular lunch spot. I still prefer T-Flats with their bigger and better tasting tacos and the hot sauce bar where the hotness and ingredients for each sauce is displayed. Will try again though... Music was pretty loud here though...almost too loud to try and talk over.

I went to Lime after receiving a "Groupon" for it. The food is pretty good. It's like a Chipotle, with some additional options. The chain is out of Miami. They use all organic ingredients with great portions. They have a nice "salsa bar" where you get try different types of fresh salsa (much better than the salsa bars found at "Moe's"). The food sometimes takes a while to come out - and on one occasion, we received our entree way before receiving the appetizer. The atmosphere is nice, and it's in a very good location in the shopping center with Whole Foods.

  • Ernest S.

I like it! Different but as good as the other chains. I love all the salsas and bottles of hot sauce. Downside? Are you kidding me with the music volume? We sat outside in the mid-day heat because of the extremely loud music.

  • Tammy M.

Agree that the prices are a bit high for a place where you order your food at the counter and get your own drink, but the food makes it totally worth it! The black bean and corn salsa is delish! The queso dip is beyond delish! Great atmosphere and very friendly service. Nice place for a large party or for a quick, delicous lunch!

Great fresh Mexican food. Just as good today as it was over two years ago. Tacos and naked burritos are great!

Lime is a great place for tacos. They use fresh ingredients as opposed to a Taco Bell. They have a salsa bar that includes limes, cilantro and black bean and corn salad. The cleanliness was really great. Looked as though they opened there doors for the first time. The staff was very friendly and they were very accommodating to any special requests. My wife always asks for extra cheese and usually wherever we go, they do not do it, however, they did here. She was so happy. I had a salad that was gigantic and extremely good. Everything just really tastes fresh. We will definitely be heading back. It is so much better then taco bell or anything like that and its about the same price. I did notice that there is a happy hour I think on Wednesday's. They had special taco and beer prices. The only negative I would say is that it is really loud in there. They have music on which is great but if you were trying to have a nice quiet dinner, this would not be the place. Great food + Fresh Food = Extremely good restaurant!

  • Joseph W.

It always amazes me how many people complain about the food. It's under $10 people! I happen to think the food is very good, and a good value! My issue is with accuracy. Twice in a row now my to go order has been wrong. This is very frustrating and reflects poorly on the restaurant as a whole. There is one guaranteed way to get a negative review: screw up a to go order... twice in a row! Oh, and a note to management: set up your POS system to delete the 'tip' line for to go orders. It makes your cashier seem entitled to something undeserved. If you provided curb-side service or if I ate in the restaurant, I would be/am happy to tip!

Having lived in South Florida, where Lime started (before they were bought), I was accustomed to a certain level of quality and experience. I was happy to see a location opened in the Orlando area. However, other than the name, the experiences were starkly different. The food here was a bit too salty for my tastes, especially the ground beef. The salsa bar did not have limes available either...? All the Lime locations I have been to always stocks limes for its patrons. Probably won't be coming back here.

3 stars because this is a great, fresh alternative to some other not-so-tempting texmex joints. I've been to 2 locations of Lime Fresh Mex Grill and both times I've been surprised by how fresh the ingredients are. This time I ordered the Lime burrito (naked as a bowl). The woman at the counter couldn't tell me if their regular salsa (which comes on this burrito bowl) is spicy or not so I asked for them not to add that. The bowl came out pretty quickly and had chips in it which added a great crunch. I went to the sauce bar and loaded up on cilantro and pineapple salsa. One thing I'll note is that the rice and beans are indeed a bit bland. That being said- I prefer this to Chipotle's extremely salty rice which puts you in a sodium coma! This way, one can add their own preferred amount of salt to the dish. Overall the bowl was pleasant and I didn't leave feeling sick from stuffing my face with junk- which, for a tex mex joint is a real selling point!

First time here. Excellent food and good prices. The queso dip here is great! I got the steak tacos and the shell was crunchy and flavorful. The steak was tender and seasoned to perfection.

It really pains me to not be able to give Lime more stars. SO. MUCH. POTENTIAL. Yet, basically offers the same ingredients in different combinations, plus there are precious few options for anyone with a Gluten issue. How so? Their corn tortillas, chips, etc are cooked in the same oil as their flour based shells. So that leaves you with a naked burrito or a salad (Make SURE you tell them not to put chips on it, because they do. Shredded tortilla all over the salad). I have had the vegetarian naked burrito and it is nothing but way too much rice with black beans - if you need to control portion sizes, imagine two meals of beans and rice in one bowl, and the salad has guac and black bean salsa, but it was kind of underwhelming once I rescued it from the shower of chip shreds. The romaine was chopped way too large, had too much of the white parts and I really didn't care for the ranch dressing or their sour cream. I don't know what seasonings they put in that, but no, just no. It tastes off. How about living up to your name and creating a delicious Mexican Lime dressing? Something not cream based? That would be a great option so people can choose what they want. I substituted the dressing with some salsa, both from the bar and bottled. On the positive side, their salsa bar is fantastic and the choices of bottled hot sauce have no rival. Delicious and varied.

I never thought I would like this place. But great food. Try the salsa bar with your chips I even like the drinks. Nothing like $2 drinks to get you in the mood to eat. Their service has gotten better. But if you come here on a bad day when they are busy. Just walk out.

Fake not authentic Mexican food, hard shell tacos !! this is a fancy Taco Bell with alcohol license, may be for some this place is awesome but not for me, I'm a big fan of real and authentic Mexican food this place do not reflect what the Mexican cuisine is.

Try something fresh and tasty ... If you are hankering for Taco Bell, maybe try this place instead. Food is fresh, light and very tasty. The extensive salsa bar is delicious and comes with your meal.

  • Savannah S.

Pretty much a Tijuana flats. Order at the door, sit down and they bring to you. The food was typical quick tex-mex. Very noisy, did not harness sound well. They serve margaritas though which a plus!

    (3)
  • Ryan N.

Food isn't bad, I would highly recommend getting a burrito naked (without the tortilla).

    (4)
  • Dustin D.

Woah. Super fresh! I had the lime burrito in a bowl with double chicken. The rice was sticky, chips were crisp and everything tasted great with the salsas from the salsa bar. If you're a guacamole person, they have some to be reckoned with as well.

  • Liz M.

Decent enough food. I still think chiptolte wins in the fresh ingredients department, but something chipotle can steal from lime is their amazing salsa bar. Chipotle NEEDS a a salsa bar. Their food is amazing, and I think it would step them up that much further. I do have to say every salsa I tried from Lime was delicious! Theit chips didn't hold up to well in the car ride home. They kind of were just okay. Nothing special. Just bland...chips. but the burrito bowl with chicken and their lime cilantro was pretty tasty. I even tried some of their pineapple salsa with tge burrito bowl and found that the flavors meshed together just as well as the more savory salsas did. The chicken was okay, but kind of left me feeling like I should have tried another type of meat...maybe steak? I think the chicken could have been a bit more flavorful and a little more juicy (not quite so cooked).

Lime... WTF. And I mean that in all the good ways! First off, happy hours is Wednesday. Thursday, and Friday (get it now?) from 4-7 or something like that, which means half priced drinks and $2 tacos. Yay! I'm a major fan of how they have gluten free (corn) options and they are willing to accommodate you with pretty much anything. Makes them a winner in my book! If you come during their special hours, you can get filling food on the cheap, otherwise, it'll run you about $10 per person, but for me, I'm willing to pay the extra money versus Taco Bell for a superior product in every way. I'll be back!

Love this place. Some of the best fish tacos I have ever had especially for the price. Love the combination salsa bar and hot sauce stand. As a heat seeker I crave things that are super spicy and at Lime Fresh I can get my ghost pepper fix and really slice it up. Love this place. Something I miss whenever I leave Florida. If only it weren't it such a traffic jammed location it would be even cooler (if that's possible).

We first tried Lime in South Florida. It was great and we were very happy when we found one on Sandlake. The menu is huge so take your time. I usually get the steak tacos with flour tortillas. They have burritos and salads and other items. Everything is fresh looking and tasted fresh. I did think it was a little much for guacamole, kind of wished it was included. After you order you can take advantage of the salsa bar. There is many to choose from. They will bring your food to you. It's really great because you can order 1 taco or more. The food comes out quick and the staff seems pleasant. They have outdoor seating for the rare occasion it's pleasant outside. Definitely worth a try and we will go back.

For the price, you can't beat this place. The food is good, and not cheap. I have eaten here 3 times now and the food is consistent as well as the service. Lime Fresh is really a good restaurant!

  • Winny R.

I love this place!! The food is fresh and well seasoned! I have never had a bad experience. Their burritos bowls kick Chipotle in the ass! The chicken has a nice peppery flavor and the cilantro rice is awesome. The bowls are huge and they are stuffed with black beans and salsa as well! The sour cream at this place is to die for!! Definitely must visit!

Good salsa bar selection. Tons of hot sauces. Good out door seating. Unlimited chips, just ask. Plus happy hour on WTF $2 tacos 2 for 1 drinks.

  • Matthew C.

Great alternative and way friendlier than any Chipotle I've ever been to! I love the music and the atmosphere. The burrito I ate was SPECTACULAR! The first bite had my tastebuds glowing! Queso Burrito! I can only eat half but YUM I may save it for tomorrow!! Bring your friends and fam even children!

  • Bill T.

Very mediocre tex-mex style food. The chicken on the tacos was very bland. Tortilla chips were also tasteless, with no real corn flavor or even a little salt. Guacamole was okay with some nice onions, garlic and tomatoes but the avacado wasn't the freshest. The salsa bar was just okay, with the chipotle being too smoky. Hot sauce selection is okay but they just put out all the bottles for you to pour from, seems kinda gross actually. Service was crappy too, the girl taking my order was completely distracted. I will skip this place in the future.

  • Vanessa L.

"Eh." This is my response to my Sunday late lunch visit to Lime. The service was friendly and fast. The tortilla chips and salsa bar makes the place worth visiting. Those are my positive remarks. Now I move on... I had a ground beef taco for $3, which was an evidence of "you get what you pay for". It was fine, no complaints. It was just boring and plain. The chicken tortilla soup was not good. Not good. It was very glutinous... I'll return to try out other items on their menu- particularly on WTF (4-7pm) for buy one get one beers. That should up them a star!

If my true love told me I had to choose between being with him forever, or continuing to eat at Lime, Id tell him he isn't my true love. And he'd have to go. End of discussion. Sorry not sorry. There is nothing better than the surfer tacos, grilled, on whole wheat tortillas. Add the mango salsa and you're golden. Everyone here is attentive and nice, timely, and they REALLY care about customer service. I'm a regular, and it's now getting to the point where the manager will say hello to me by name, and ask about my family. They also serve beer and sangrias, which makes me very very happy, and their salsa bar is ALWAYS fresh, clean, and delicious. I can't get enough of their cilantro and pineapple hot sauce. (Add a little of this hot sauce to a side of their spicy ranch... Dip your chip... Your life will actually change.) Not only is Lime a delicious, healthy, guilt-free stop, but it's also a great place to come back to again and again. Maybe Lime is my true love... Mind (and taste buds) = BLOWN.

I was in the mood for tacos so we stopped here for some Mexican food. I had the original tacos, minus the pico. I had 3 tacos for 6.99. Not a bad price considering it came with chips (the chips were actually only ok, not the best.). I wish the tacos had more sour cream on them. But I LOVED the pineapple salsa!!

It is a mexican restaurant. Serviced by Donovan and he was very attentive. Wish i read the review on the frozen sangria, i will just have to go back i guess.

Wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. I tried the queso burrito which wasn't as cheesy as I thought it would be, but it was tasty! This place reminds me of Fresca's back in CA. Salsa verde with chips is addicting! Unlimited chips! Reasonable prices with good portions. Service was much better than your usual fast food. The employees are all friendly and check in on you. If it's a nice day, definitely eat on the shaded patio. I will be back here again.

Plenty of open seating outside. Free salsa bar and a side of chips. Queso is a must. A slight step up from moe's

I'm really glad I stumbled upon this place while out shopping in Dr. Phillips. It's clean, and the staff is very friendly. I love that everything is made-to-order, and they bring the food to your table. While you're waiting you can fill your drink at the sofa fountain and choose from the salsa bar. I really like the pineapple salsa! I've always gotten the Fresca quesadillas. The flavors are unique and nothing like Moe's or Chipotle. The cojita cheese adds a different flavor, and the cilantro dressing that comes on the side is delicious! I always add a little side of queso, which is also very tasty! I'll keep coming back for sure.

I kept passing this place and decided to try it . I got the chicken salad , which was a nice size - but you pay about $8. It was seriously bland . I saved my calories and didn't waste putting the salad dressing on it. The dressing was better just to dip the chips in . I squeezed lime juice on the salad and kept it moving. My daughter one of the chicken burritos. I had a small bight. The shell was thick and toasted , more like a thin wrap than a burrito shell. There were alot of refried mushy beans in it. There just was no flavor , no kick . They need to increase the herbs. The pineapple salsa had the freezer taste to it . I am not a complainer, but I can say - been there , done that , and will not go back. Ambience- there are some high top tables and booths inside and tables outside. We sat outside under the cute umbrellas. It was missing "flava" in ambience also. Cute spot, friendly cashier - but missing pizzaz! ( What's up with the cow manure smell and tall plants that hide you from the "view". Ok, the view of the street but hey , we are on the outside patio...... I hate to say it but being honest - they don't compare to Chipotle !

I usually enjoyed going to Lime because I love fish tacos and they are a delicious light meal option. The employees are usually really nice too. My last experience there was not good though. My fish tacos were DISGUSTING I could not eat them. They were soggy and dripping. I regret not complaining but I felt awkward so I didn't, (and lost my appetite). I would rate that experience a 1 star, but if it weren't for that my previous experiences would have been a 4 star. I might go back one day and try again based on my previous experiences.

The location is in a great place the food is okay but nothing special the staff is either great or some can be very rude. Sometimes I feel like I'm bothering them by ordering food I'm not a fan of that kind of customer service. If your close by give it a try but I wouldn't go out of my way to try them.

I don't usually go to Lime Fresh, however, my boyfriend and I were staying in Orlando this past weekend and we decided to go eat this location. Everyone there was very attentive and served us quickly. I usually like all types of food, especially if it is spicy, which is why I ordered the "Steak 'N Queso Taco. It sounded really good in the description, but when I received my order, I didn't like them. I found the spices they used to be too much, so I only had half of one taco. My boyfriend ordered Surfer Tacos. He loved them. About 15 minutes into our meal, the manger on duty, D.J., came by and asked us how was our food and if everything was ok. I didn't want to say I didn't like my tacos because in reality they had not done the tacos wrong, I just didn't like them. But my boyfriend told DJ that I didn't like my tacos. He quickly apologized and told us he appreciated out feedback. He asked me if I wanted my tacos to be replaced but I said no, so he refunded us for the tacos. DJ and the rest of the staff's excellent customer service made our meal a great one, even if I didn't like my tacos. :)

Lime offers a very fresh take on burritos, salads, quesadillas and more. A beautiful salad bar and open decor make it a pleasant fast casual environment. The fish tacos, quesadillas, and especially the queso burrito were a hit for us. The salad was so pretty it still looks good when half-eaten (see pic).

Went back again last week, food was fresh and delicious. You can really tell the difference when quality ingredients are used. We tried a Tijuana Flats near our house a few weeks ago and it just tasted bad - yuck. Same food items at Lime Fresh were delicious. Simple food - good ingredients~

Great burritos! And on Monday, it was only $6 for that and a drink. Pineapple salsa was pretty awesome as well. Y'all should check it out.

Ordered steak and queso tacos. Food was taken to the wrong table. When I did finally get it, it wasn't great. Steak was cold and they were very wet...causing the tortillas to fall apart. An employee apologized and refunded that portion of our bill.

I am so disappointed. Our first visit here a few weeks ago was pretty good, but tonight it was bad. The beef in the taco salad was too salty; they messed up 3 out of 6 orders; and they didn't have plain tomatoes. But, my son enjoyed the queso, and that was about the only shining point of this visit.

My experience here was just ok. The staff was very casual. My taco was just ok. To rank this one vs. the one in winter park, I'd probably rate that one above this one. The MOD did seem attentive to customer needs. The cashier... She could use some help, as well as the cook. I've had better Lime experiences. The sangria didnt taste the same at this one either.

    (3)
  • Katie K.

Seriously, what's not to like here? On Wednesday, Thursday or Friday you can come in and get 2 for 1 margaritas or sangria, and 2 original tacos, and pay less than $10. I'm a happy customer!

I've seen this time and time again. A new restauant opens and its great at first, and then the 'honeymoon' stage is over. Sad but true for this location. We watched who seem to appear to be the MOD(manager on duty) eat her dinner right next to the food pickup window. Then without washing her hands, continue working @ cash register. Major health violation. After having a Restaurant management background myself, I could go on about other missed opportunities. Food was OK. Sad to say we might not be back for a while.

I arrived during the lunch rush and wish I had gone earlier or later than 12:30 pm. It is packed so if your doing a to go order call ahead. The first problem was the parking. There was none close to the restaurant. It doesn't appear that they have any parking spots for people to pick up from. I did see two 15 minute parking spots that were being used for the duration of my visit which was about 20 minutes but other than that if it's busy your going to have to park way out and walk up. This is more the fault of the shopping plaza they are located in and not the fault of the restaurant itself. The service here is super duper, very friendly eager to help, smiles all around. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. My only problem here came with a sense that certain items came with a particular dish and were not extra. The menu does read "Served with a side of warm homemade tortilla chips" but since every other place I've ever been too serves you salsa with the chips, I thought this implied that I was to get some included in the order. Add salsa for $ .xx would be helpful. To be fair they have a cute salsa bar which include a myriad of salsas, pica de gallo, some cilatro and some limes. The little ladles are perfect portion to scoop in the little plastic ramekins. These are tasting portion size so if you want salsa with your chips order the side item. The restaurant itself is very clean. The counter tops are high. I'm short so it was a bit of a reach for me to get ice and fill up my drink. But the station it's self was very clean and the tea was fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Steak Fajita Burrito and a cup of Black Bean Soup. I was then asked if I would like sour cream with my black bean soup and said sure, as she punched it in I saw I was charged 55 cents for the sour cream. I didn't care, it's just 55 cents and if she had mentioned it was a side that had cost extra I would have gone with it anyway. Their was a wait but for being as busy as it was it wasn't long. I took it to go and headed back to work to try it. First off from the salsa bar I had decided on Pico De Gallo, Salsa Verde, and Salsa Asada. The pico de gallo was good as was the salsa verde. The salsa asada had a very robust tomato and garlic taste that reminded me more of marinara and less like salsa. Good if you don't like your salsa spicy. I opened up my black bean soup, no sour cream on it, I searched the bag and realized they had forgotten to give me the side of sour cream. Oopps, slip ups like this happen during busy lunch rush time it's forgivable and had I checked my bag before leaving maybe I would have noticed. It didn't matter much the black bean soup lacked any real flavor or spice to it. It's a good base of black beans it just needs something to make it a little spicy and add flavor. I figured after a a few spoonfuls that I would save this and take it home, add a few spices to it and maybe some sour cream on top and see how I like it. The steak Fajita is a good size, it's a little pricey but remember you're paying a bit more for quality humanely raised food. I enjoyed the burrito wrap, it was grilled and wasn't to thick or thin. The burrito as a whole was decent but dim flavor; a little bland. While I think that chipotle is a tad on the salty side, this lacked any. The green peppers and onions are diced very small. a larger cut would allow me to taste more of the flavors of the onions and green peppers. I really enjoy their push to use humane products I just wish I was more excited about the end products. I'd go back and order something different at a time when it's not so busy. Maybe things would be better. Food is a two but I went with 3 stars because of friendly service and giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Lime Fresh Mexican Grill is a new addition to the Phillips Crossing shopping center on the corner of Sand Lake Road and Turkey Lake Blvd (right by Universal Orlando). The restaurant, originating from South Miami, puts on a great show with a lively atmosphere, an array of extras like a salsa bar, and a urban chic decor that's done just right. This venue doesn't hesitate to establish its character. From the parking lot we could easily hear the pop music playing inside. Within ten feet of the restaurant the aroma of Mexican spices awakened our senses. Lime is a "medium food" restaurant. By that I mean you order at a counter, get a number, and the food is delivered to your table. We walked inside and entered into the ordering queue. As we did so I was quite struck with the interior of restaurant. It is brightly painted, well decorated in a southwest motif (I really liked the little cactuses on the wall), and overall the atmosphere definitely conveyed the freshness we expected from the food. The menu was surprising too, with dozens and dozens of selections. To delivery on the promise of freshness, the restaurant uses only Humanely Raised meat and their produce is delivered daily and prepared on-site that same day for all their homemade salsa, sauces and sides. (That language is from their website limefreshmexicangrill.com .) Sounds alright to me. We decided to order a Fish Taco and the Chicken and Steak Fajitas, and our free chips and salsa. They also had beer available, but we weren't quite in the mood for that yet. Ordering went smoothly, we were given a number, and we headed off to pick a table. The performance at Lime Fresh Mexican Grill got really juicy when we walked into the seating area. That's when I noticed the hot sauce and salsa bars. I recently was impressed with the salsa bar at Fresh A-Peel, but this one was even better! And they say the salsas are all handmade in-store? I tell ya, at this point I was thinking we had found our new home away from home. By this point I was ready to bring to completion what was so far an awesome performance. Then our order arrived and my eyes opened wide... (see the photos of the food I uploaded). It all looked perfect. So let's eat already! Bite one. Huh. That didn't taste like much. Whatever! Let's go bite two. Huh. Bite three! double-huh. Bite four? Nothing. Are you kidding me? No, my fajita was not kidding me. There just wasn't any flavor there. The steak had no seasoning, the chicken was dry and bland. Maybe a dud. How's your fish taco? The fish is overcooked? Doesn't taste like anything either? How about our free chips and salsa? Needs more salt, more something. Same with the salsa. A tragedy for the ages was playing out in front of my taste buds. What had been such a spectacular performance was ending with a meaningless plot twist. And so it was. Bottom line, the food just wasn't any good. It wasn't awful, or even kind of bad, it just wasn't good. To be perfectly honest, as I ate it I was reminded of quick-service food at a theme park. Sad, I know. But perhaps this isn't the last chapter of the story. I really, really enjoyed everything about the experience except for the food (sounds funny to say that about a restaurant). I am hoping that we came at a bad time and that a second visit will bring the taste of the food in alignment with everything else I saw and felt. Only time will tell.

Ok, my third visit to Lime Fresh was yesterday for lunch. I got the Surfer Tacos with grilled fish to go. On my first visit -- for lunch with a friend months ago -- whatever I ordered was not memorable, and no amount of salsa, hot sauce, fresh limes, or pico could impart any flavor to the terminal blandness of the food. Next visit, I thought: perhaps I ordered the wrong thing last time? That time I got the Surfer Tacos and they weren't bad -- with chunks of pretty good grilled Mahi on soft tortillas, garnished with a little shredded cabbage and some nice creamy cilantro sauce. Yesterday's lunch was basically one enormous serving of corn tortillas with a side of taco chips (more corn tortillas). Each taco was double wrapped in two soft corn tortillas -- filled with shredded cabbage and sauce. After a couple of bites, I had to open the tacos to see if they had indeed forgotten the fish? Much to my dismay, I discovered two of the smallest squares of fish I've ever laid eyes on. The fish in all three tacos couldn't have amounted to a total of 2 oz. And I'm not exaggerating! So basically, for six corn tortillas and a big handful of taco chips I paid $9.00??? Sorry, Lime Fresh, but don't look for me again. It was your third strike -- you're OUT!

A great quick service option for Mexican food! Love the salsa bar and the fresh ingredients they use.

Food tasted okay, not as good as Chipotle Positives: * Organic. Good quality food and good portions. * Service was very friendly. * Medium salsa was pretty tasty Just okay: * Had chicken quesadilla and ground beef taco. Also sampled the steak. Taste for all three was not bad, but not as much flavor as Chipotle for the same price.

I tried this place out twice, and twice I was disappointed. Their sangria is a lovely treat....but that's about the only area this place hit. The salsa is bland. The chicken is flavorless. The refried beans are gummy as is the rice. Add some flavor and better texture, and I'll come back!

This place is Money... Everytime I come here I stop here for lunch. It has a variety of Mexican (For White America) kinda food. I mean this ain't the missin on San Fran, where you can get everything cooked by someones grandma... So, I have tried the Chkn quesadilla, good, the steak salad, good, the lime big burrito, to much stuff in it but good, and the also have a cool salsa bar. from your pico de gallo to the inferno sauce that your toilet hates. HAHA Anyway, I will keep supporting this place for lunch when in town. Not sure for dinner cause I have not been.

They have both outdoor and indoor seating, staff was friendly. You order at front, pick your number and a seat, server will bring your food later, pretty fast. I got Grilled Fish Taco and half fajita quesadilla with chicken, total came to $9.50 ish. Taste was very plain in my opinion. Good place for groups though, fun clean atmosphere, not loud and you can actually hear each other talking. I'd go back for the atmosphere, but not the food.

Would you pay $10.21 burrito, I did. it doesn't come with a drink just nacho chips but it's worth it. The average daily wage in Mexico is approximately $7. So if you buy a drink you can almost hire 2 workers per day. I had the humanely raised steak in my 8th street burrito A.K.A el burrito the calle ocho stuffed with black beans, rice, pico de gallo, sour cream, and crispy bacon. The salsas are fresh and tasty, if you want more heat they have a variety of hot sauces you don't see at Moe's or Chipotle. Other buzz words that redundantly appear in the menu like organic, homemade, and the for mentioned certified humanely raised. So you can invite Al Gore and your carrying card PETA member girlfriend to feel good about yourselves. I know I did.

On a par with Moe's but without the "welcome to Lime" shout as you enter. At this Dr Phillips spot, you order at the counter and they give you a paper cup for your drink. As you walk along the cafeteria-like line, you'll see over-cute messages, like "You've been warned" at the hot sauce stop, and "This could get messy" where you grab cheap napkins. I sat at a high top table, feeling very intimate with the guy behind me. Along came my over large bean burrito, which filled the gullet, nothing more. I'll give them two stars to put them above Moe's.

Here are my fast casual Mexican Rankings: 1st: Baja Fresh 2nd: Lime 3rd: Chipotle 4th: Tijuana Flats Last: Moe's Lime can be REALLY good or they can blow it. When it's good, the chicken is juicy and all of the ingredients are well proportioned. My wife and I usually enjoy eating on the patio, the service is always friendly too. They'll screw up the orders about 10% of the time and sometimes the chicken is dry, but we keep going back because it's good most of the time.

Lime Fresh first came to my attention nearly a year ago because they are the first restaurant chain to serve Certified Humane products. While that drew me to the restaurant, it is the flavor that keeps me coming back. All of the food is clean and fresh tasting. Nothing is oversauced. One of my favorites are the Grilled Fish Tacos. If you are looking for Vegeterian options, the have quite a few. The salsa bar has mild to hot options with additional selections for hot sauces. If you are craving fresh Mexican, be sure to give them a try.

I only went here because every other restaurant was closed and this was the only good thing around. So I decided to give it a try and I have to say there tacos are good but there chicken in the taco(if you order chicken on your taco) is underwhelming,it's to hard and flaky. There chips and salsa is pretty good and they have a awesome sauce selection which ranges from Bacon Hot sauce to Tabasco Sauce.I may visit again but only if there is nothing open.

Frozen Sangria and Forzen Margaritas...you had me right there! I really like this place a lot. The staff is super fun and nice. THe food I had was super flavorful and fresh. I LOVE their guacamole and I'm a bit of a quac snob. If I lived closer I would def go back cause it was all delicioius. THe southwest eggroll things were my favorite, and their burritos are no joke... HUGE!!!! so come hungry cause you'll leave FULL!

Very good lunch. Had the beef burrito which was fresh and juicy. The place is very noisy with sound rattling off all the hard surfaces. As the lunch crowd thinned it was better but not great. You can sit outdoors at tables but you are basically in a parking lot. Not a bad place for some time with friends. Whole Foods (Whole Paycheck) is close by if you decide to get healthy.

So, so Mexicana, salsa bar, tacos, grilled fish of the day, burritos etc, order at the counter, beer, wine and soft drinks. Lunch for two $23, salad with charred (and I mean charred) meat, three tacos and soft drinks. Service OK, outside patio quite nice but loud music. Quick fix food - though I would prefer Chipotle in this genre.

Sorry I really wanted to like this place but out of a party of four three items were returned. Everything we ordered didn't have any taste at all nothing. Also asked for a larger bowl to put salas in and they act as if we were stealing salas. It was a really big deal for them and the plastic bowls they did have were only to hold enough salas for 1 chip. We moved here from California and looking for good Mexican food and was not it. I will keep looking for shredded beef tacos.

Not the worst but I wouldn't go here specifically for mexican food. There are better and cheaper options across the street. What they lack in menu options they make up for in service. The waiter brought us a little tray with samples of all the little salsas! The Queso however is pretty great and they have a happy hour where you can try the amazing frozen sangria! Yum! If the weather is nice sit outside and people watch!

As fast Mexican food goes, this place is WONDERFUL. It is a chain, but a small chain, definitely on the upswing of growth. In fact, in my two times eating there, the Manager, who I suspect is also the franchise owner, came to our lovely outside table and checked in to make sure we were enjoying our meal. I brought a friend there for a quick birthday lunch, and we decided to split a slice of delicious, not too sweet, key lime pie. When the Manager brought it to the table, he had run across the parking lot to a store to buy a candle for it! That's what I call service. The signature Lime Burrito is delicious, with a serving not too big and not too small. Currently, they only have beef and chicken available, no shredded pork or churizo, which would be lovely. There is a nice bar of assorted salsas, all freshly made, and a well stocked selection of hot sauces. The line moves quickly, but can be a five or six minute wait at lunch time. The restaurant is spic and span clean, and the outside dining area is well shaded with massive umbrellas and kept apart from the parking lot by lovely oversized plants. All in all, I would whole-heartedly recommend this place over Chipotle any day!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
