The sushi was good no spectacular but fresh with decent flavor. I had a sake sprinter which was more carbonation than sake but it was still good.

This place use to be a regular for my wife and I about a year or so ago. After our last 2 return visits, we will NOT return to this place again. Service was never a strong spot for the place, the food was consistently good. Lately, service is well, SUCKS. Everyone seems to be walking around lost and unsure of what they are doing. My simple off the menu order was wrong, to ad insult to injury, it was Luke warm and I found a piece of aluminum foil in my food (could have done damage had it been eaten.) Pick another restaurant.

I know that many in the city of Orlando talk highly of this establishment. To me, it's only a special occasion place and then not that often. I have goods and bads. Good-At 7 p.m., it wasn't busy at all. Bad-I was the only one in the restaurant who spoke Japanese. Good-The server was very professional and attentive. Bad-The chef appeared to be quick and quiet. He only seasoned with lots of butter and a little salt. What happened to the traditional Japanese seasonings? The fried rice only has egg and a little salt in it. Good-The meat/fish items chosen were all very tender and cooked perfectly. Bad-The salad with its dressing was the worst thing eaten. The lettuce was just iceberg and the ginger dressing seemed too sweet.

Took my mom for her first time and she loved it. We tried to make it for the early bird special, but the weather prevented that from happening. Keep in mind it's only from 5-6pm. Which is a little crazy to me. So if you can't make that I recommend going at after 9pm when they offer the 2 can eat for $30 with drink and appetizer specials. Otherwise it's a little pricey. She ordered the chicken $16 and I had the shrimp $21. All meals come with veggies, noodles, fried rice, soup and salad. The meal was good, but it seemed like this cook used extra butter. Keep this for a cheat meal X2 because you will have leftovers.

I love this place. I wish they were open for lunch during the week. They should open more sushi tables, too.

I have experience this Kobe's and wasn't impress with the food. I do love sushi and steak, but I have been to better Japanese steakhouses than this. Sorry got to give it 2 stars.

Had lunch here yesterday (Sunday). The early bird (5pm - 6pm) specials are good for lunch time hours too. I had the veggie delight which is a bargain at $10. You get soup/salad, tons of delicious veggies, rice/pasta, and all the white sauce you want! I loved our Chef (Chef Kou). He was awesome and so entertaining. The food was delicious and service was great.

Have gone here several times for birthdays and other events. Always a blast! The hibachi chief we had tonight was hilarious and kept the group laughing the entire time. I had a sangri which was made very well. We arrived after 9pm so we had the dinner special (3 entrees for 2 people - $36), it's a great deal!! The shrimp was amazing and the steak was cooked a perfect medium. It was my boyfriends birthday so they sang to him, put on a silly hat, and had a candle in a cupcake for him. They not only make amazing food (and a lot of it! Always left overs to take home), but also keep you very entertained! Will continue to come to Kobe's!

I love this location for the bar area alone. The wait is always crazy but if you can slip in at the bar, grab a few drinks, and have a sushi roll or two you won't be disapointed!

Last week, come for my mother's birthday, two years ago got a discount - that time looked at her drivers license, this time, "you have to book it eight days before your birthday through an online process if you want to get the discount." "special membership expired after 1 year" DUH!! ---!!!" Instead of taking the hit and getting the business, and possible repeat business they've chosen to never see me again or my family because of the hassle of making a reservation - on Wednesday! Then to drive there fight traffic and find, we don't operate that way anymore. With two other Asian restaurants of similar stripe nearby, and a terrible wrote fight to get to this one how long are they going to last? This type of policy makes me want to short Kobe's stock. I suspect if I go look at it I'll find someone else already has... Shortsighted accountants ruin business -

I get the impression they're still in that "just opened" phase, although they've been open for a couple of years now. Before they'll seat you, you have to wait for all people in your party to arrive. Once that happens, you then have to wait at least another 15 min to be seated.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. The food is great, the service is wonderful and the ambiance is absolutely fantastic. Our Japanese chef Chris was a five star show on top of the great food he prepared. I definitely recommend the restaurant!

I'm definitely a fan of Kobe! You get a good bang for your buck- salad, soup, grilled vegetables, noodles, fried rice, and your protein entree all for once price! The thing that does it for me more so than Benihana are the more affordable prices and the white sauce! That white sauce is made from the gods. You put the sauce on your veggies, noodles, rice, and protein. Since it's so much food, I always break it up and eat half there and take the rest for lunch the next day. Make sure to ask for white sauce to go. The happy hour specials are pretty great. It includes some wine and cocktails along with a few appetizers. You have to sit by the bar area but it has a few TVs so it's entertaining at the least. Another tip- sign up for their mailing list for a $30 off coupon during your birthday month. Since the prices are affordable, the $30 enables you to purchase a pricier menu item like scallops, filet mignon, and even lobster. Your birthday coupon also includes a cute little cupcake!

Great food as usual, the holiday menu was fantastic. For the first time got a chef that didnt do a single cooking gag! Was very disappointing, not even an onion volcano or "egg roll" joke.

Kobe is good stuff. It's fun for birthdays and their rewards program makes it a budget-friendly fancy dinner. I have to confess, the combination of the rewards and the close proximity to my home means we end up at Kobe way too often... We always try to go in early to take advantage of the early bird special on weeknights. This saves us money and we usually don't have much of a wait for a table. The food is consistently good. The whole spiel while the cook prepares the food gets a little old, but the kids still enjoy it.

The food and service was great. The BIG problem was we had to wait almost 45 minutes after our reservation time. We got there 15 minutes early so had to wait an hour. Food and Chef were great.

Great place to have a good meal. My 10th time this year and it gets better You need to ask for Murano. He is the best ! Also get a Kobe card if you plan to go more than twice. It's worth it Enjoy.

Absolutely LOVE the happy hour from 9 p.m - close! Super great prices on drinks and eats. The food is always good, whether it is hibachi or sushi. My only complaint is that they are kinda lousy with reservations. They won't seat you unless your entire party is present, even if the majority of you are there. Thus, if people come late, you kinda get bumped to the end of the line on the reserve list. This is definitely a downer when it is someone's birthday party... The bar tenders are always nice, however, and the managers love my husband. They are always ready to buy us a round of beers! We love it.

Hibachi is my passion. I love it to death. I've been to dozens of different Hibachi joints, and this one is right in the middle of the pack. All three times I've gone, I've ordered the steak and chicken hibachi meal. While the food is overall delicious and the atmosphere superb, I do have a few small issues. First, the rice is a little bland compared to its competitors. They don't add much to it, though the large amount of egg is nice. Second, the dinner doesn't come with a few extra shrimp for everyone. I never order shrimp because I know that the dinner usually comes with two shrimp anyway. I was disappointed because this is one of the only restaurants that doesn't do it...Third, the cooks seem to make one portion of the meal entirely before moving onto the next one. I know there's a lot to keep track of, but I found myself finishing the vegetables and waiting with an empty plate for the rice and the meat and so on. It would be nice to enjoy them all at the same time. Finally, there's no curtain or wall separating the tables so not only are the sitting areas cramped, but they are in such close proximity to other tables that you get to see the same gags twice...when once really would suffice as it is. It would do a lot to perfect to atmosphere if it was less of a cafeteria style floor plan. In spite of these shortcomings, the food is generally great. The meat is always lean and the vegetables well-seasoned. The noodles were a unique addition (probably to compensate for the lack of shrimp). If only they had beansprouts too... Overall, it's a great, albeit somewhat expensive, experience. The portions are always big, though not as big as some of the other steakhouses, but big enough where you won't have to order dessert.

Our favorite spot ! My son loves their miso soup and we always order extra noodles .it is a little pricey but you eat free on your birth month and they always mail coupons to make it cheaper :)

Had dinner there for my nephews birthday. We had a party of 8. Kobe's is Kobe's. We all had different entrées from steak to chicken to shrimp. It started out with the usual mushroom soup, then a salad, then noodles. The chef put on a good show as usual. All food was good and tender. To me the only downside was all the starch. Several in the party had steak and that was served with potatoes. Kobe's is fun if you've never been there.

  • Jonathan W.

Low quality meats for prices above average for other Japanese steak houses, plus added holiday surcharges. It's a good atmosphere, but for upwards of $25 a plate for the cheapest item, you're getting mediocre food for a high price. Would recommend going to a different steakhouse for the same experience but better food and prices.

Not the best Teppanyaki experience I've had, but overall we had a a very satisfying meal. The dining experience it self I feel went by pretty quickly, around 1.5 hours. I'm just more used to the 2 hour entertainment, and have the chef a little more social and entertaining, as well as maintaining their professionalism. The thing with a good Teppanyaki meal is also the sauces that accompany your proteins. I didn't care for them here. Beef is just beef, and a good beef can be tasty, but what separates a good Teppanyaki Restaurant is what they go and offer with your meal.

Last night, I visited Kobe with a friend. It's the first time either of us ate there, and I doubt we'll be going back. When we first entered, everything looked great and they were busy. There was a 90 minute wait for the dinner and a show option, so we opted for the 20 minute wait for the dining area without the show. About 40 minutes later, I went to check on our seating arrangements because the buzzer hadn't gone off, and we'd been sitting next to the door the whole time. It turns out that not only had we been "called" but they'd sat 5 other groups before us, and we were waiting outside for nothing. Oh well, no reason to be upset, they were busy, the tech just didn't work, right? NOPE! The younger woman dials in our number and it goes off just fine. The older woman immediately says "We call you 20 mins ago, you not come" like it was our fault.... Strike 1. The younger woman seats us and gives us a rather sparse menu with mostly sushi and almost no dinner options. I asked about steak and scallops and the waitress brought over a completely different menu with prices that were more expensive than the first menu. This wouldn't normally be a problem, but all of the things on the first menu I was given were 5-6 dollars cheaper for the EXACT SAME MEAL. When I asked why, they said "the other side gives you a show." So, if you're going here, save 5 bucks and dine without a show. Strike 2 for me. Your menus should be uniform whether or not there's a show because it makes you look stupid and confuses the customer on what they're actually going to spend. (That means charge the higher price all the time.) Finally, my dining companion gets his sushi and the waitress says mine will be right out. We were only sitting for 10 minutes, so that was awesome! Then 10 minutes passed... and another 10.... and another 10.....and another 10..... my companion still hasn't eaten because he's one of those old-fashioned guys that waits for everyone at the table to get their food. My food hasn't come out, and the waitress hasn't left the kitchen. When she does come out, she's got my food, a full 40 minutes after my friend was served. She apologized for the wait, but it didn't matter, the food was out, so I could finally have dinner. It looked great! Strike 3 Well, unfortunately, looks aren't taste. The steak was juicy and completely unseasoned. It was by far, the best part of the meal. The scallops were bay scallops, and doused in teriyaki sauce and then overcooked. The veggies were crunchy (and I hate crunchy veggies, but I won't hold that against them). The noodles tasted like someone dumped a pound of sugar in the batter and then added cinnamon. The rice tasted like someone put it in a pan and sprayed it with PAM cooking spray. Overall, I really wish there were more steak. Strike 4 With a final bill of 24 bucks plus tip, I'd say go to Makotos or Fujiyama, or even the place in Epcot, because Kobe is not worth it. Not only do they not know how to cook, but the staff can be rude, and the customer is always at fault. Thankfully, there was a very nice host that made things a little better, but I feel bad that she has to work with that staff.

This is the nicest Kobe in the area. It can get really busy on the weekends but the wait isn't too bad if you just get a drink at the bar. The food is always good & a free meal is given on your birthday (up to $19 value) which is a great deal!

The only reason they're getting 2 stars is that the chef was good. I came with my husband and two kids for my "free" birthday dinner. The manager refused to honor my birthday even though I had a Kobé rewards card AND a valid driver's license indicating that it was my birthday. He said this was because I hadn't registered my card. I told him that he could see by my ID that it was my birthday, but he still refused. With as strange a policy as this is, you would think they would make this VERY clear on their website, but even when I went back to the website to look for this information, it was difficult to find. In addition, I gave my Kobé rewards card to the server and told him it was my birthday at the beginning of the meal. He told me it wasn't registered, but he didn't bother to tell me that because of that oversight, I'd still be paying for my meal. They might have gotten that extra $30 out of us this time, but trust me, they'll miss out on every penny they ever would have received from me from now on (and I have always liked Kobé's food). This is not about the money. This is about the fact that they are cheap and sneaky in their business practices and that is not acceptable. Imagine if I were a person who can afford to pay $30 extra for this meal! I can only imagine what would happen then.

Stopped here for an early dinner. The sushi is good. I had the uptown roll and the ultimate roll. They have happy hour with drinks specials and sushi specials. Decor was nice and dark. Looks like its a popular place.

Last night we went to Kobe's the first time since we stopped eating meat. They are super accommodating for vegetarians! We ordered the tofu. The tofu was made at the same time as the veggies and was off of the grill before he started cooking the meat. The fried rice is usually (or sometimes?) made with chicken. He did not add chicken to the fried rice. Instead, he made an extra small serving of chicken and added the chicken to everyone else's fried rice after serving us. The tofu was good, but I really enjoyed the veggies more. Next time, I will probably just get the veggie entree instead of the tofu. For vegans: they usually add egg to the fried rice, but our chef asked us whether eggs were okay or not. So, they will make it without eggs if you'd like. I was really happy with the service we received.

Eh. It's a pretty standard hibachi joint, and the meal was rather forgettable. It was enjoyable enough, but nothing to write home about.

I have been to multiple Kobe restaurants around the country and this has to be the nicest looking from the outside and inside. The food and cooking show were pretty standard. Which in this case standard means good, but not great. They always have just a few choices for a dinner entree and all are high quality. You are really paying for the show and the ambiance. With that said, this place was worth every penny. The waiting area was beautiful. A koy pond with river rock wall and water running down it. The walls were each different materials that worked well together, and each room is tied together by small holes with candles in them. The bathrooms were even interesting, with almost a wood flooring on the walls. The service was very good. They took care of our every need, and even took special requests for extra of one ingredient, or everybody's favorite white sauce. This dinner includes the standard vegetables and entree of your choice but has both noodles and rice. I have been to more than a few that only served rice. The portions are very generous. I don't say huge, because I can finish one myself, but the rest of my family ends up eating only about half their meals, leaving another full meal in leftovers. (Which by the way, everything re-heats very well, including most of the vegetables) I recommend this location and experience and will be taking my family back here for sure.

I don't know why they have the option to have a reservation... We had one at 8pm and we showed up at 8 on the dot and we were told to wait for 15 min like we were walk ins. One of the front service staff, Hector, was extremely rude. My boyfriend was trying to ask him a question and he blatantly ignored him. The food was good but the chefs are very clumsy. One of the ladies at our table got burned with some food that landed on her arm that the chef threw on her plate. Let's just say I backed away from the table whenever he was gonna do anything. I am sad to say this location doesn't have the same good vibe it had 1 year ago.

My last visit was for Mothers Day. What a wonderful experience as always. Clean organized place. Very busy being in the East Orlando side. I would highly reccomend reservations. My daughter was terrified of the fire, so the hibachi cook purposely waited until we left to the restroom and even brought her a cupcake at the end of her meal. I was a bit dissappointed they did not have any specials, but it was worth every dollar. They did however offer us $25 off for fathers day. Great location, Great interior decor, and very spacious.

Kobe is a great place for any kind of celebration! They will email you $30 off if it is your birthday and the staff is really nice. The chefs are funny and the food is great. It is a little bit on the expensive side but you get so much food that you can take some home! I have not had the sushi there but the hibachi includes a soup, salad, rice, and vegetables and meat. It also has a full bar with decent drinks. I would definitely recommend Kobe for large parties!

    (4)
  • Anita L.

I would only come here for the $32 for 2 dinner special after 9pm which is a nice deal for hibachi and the slightly disturbing hibachi chef humor (self deprecating racism, woo!). The food is decent, and you get a lot (vegetables, garlic noodles, fried rice, a couple of shrimp, chicken, and steak cubes in addition to clear soup and salad with ginger dressing). Definitely nice ambiance with the koi ponds and lighting but is a little kitsch as well. The sushi wasn't bad. The spicy tuna roll was tuna and wasabi rather than the standard Kewpie mayo and sriracha mixture on tuna, so that was interesting. Hibachi is fun for the first time, and then awkward the subsequent times because the script is all too familiar...

My boyfriend and I went to Kobe for our anniversary. It was an amazing night! The chef was very funny and entertaining! The staff was great they came and refilled our drinks without us asking. The manager came by at the end of the meal and asked everyone how everything was. There were 2 birthdays and they came out with cupcakes and sang. I got the shrimp & steak hibachi and I like well done steak, and he cut into the steak and checked before putting it on my plate which I liked. The server even put our leftovers in a box for us an brought us some white sauce to go. It was probably the best service I have gotten in a very long time.

Made a reservation for 8pm on a Tuesday night and when we arrived we were told we'd be seated within 15 minutes. 45 minutes later we were finally seated, after being lied to multiple times stating "You're next"! Once we were seated our server didn't take our order for another 25 minutes. We didn't eat until almost closing time. Food was mediocre. I'd say go to Benihana and do the original Teppan style dining.

When it comes to hibachi, I've seen better and I've seen worse. The location is attractive and pretty huge, with a distinct bar area, sushi bar area, and hibachi grill area. The hibachi menu is pretty standard, although it's missing the calamari steak option offered by Fuji down the street. For the vegetarians or the people who, like me, sometimes try to minimize expenses at a place like this, the tofu is grilled nicely and makes a good dish. They usually ask ahead of time if you're vegetarian when you order the tofu, so they know whether or not to keep your order away from the meat items. Of course, everyone generally comes here for the show. I don't know. To me, the show is tired. The chefs all go through the same scripted routine: bang the utensils around, crack an egg on the side of the spatula, make an onion volcano, make really annoying "oooo-ee! oooo-ee!" noise loudly every few seconds for no discernible reason, and often make bad jokes in the format of: (something) == Japanese (something else) i.e.: (using the soy sauce) "Japanese ketchup!" (ladling out ginger sauce) "Japanese A-1!" (rolling an egg across the grill) "Japanese egg roll!" etc, ad nauseum. I mean, it's exactly the same every time, all the way through the entire script. It's a place that you go to maybe once, and then only again if someone else in your party is the one making the decision.

:::Japanese Gong::: Ferrow Yelpers, I came here on a friend's birthday dinner. The location is not the greatest because the area of town is not the best. However, the restaurant is in a very busy intersection which makes this particular Kobe a very busy one! The interior (see my photos) is nicely laid out, dimly lit and with the obvious asian theme. There is a relatively large lounge area for waiting until your table is ready, with a waterfall right in the middle of it. Overall, it is nicely set up. It is a very spacious location. Parking is sucky because the front fills up quite quickly and one has to go park in the very back since there are more spaces available behind the plaza in which the restaurant is located. On a rainy day, not a great deal. It was pouring when I went there so I might as well have gone and sat on the first row of the Shamu show at Sea World before walking into this place. Yes, I'm bitter. The food itself isn't too bad, but it is your standard Hibachi servings. I had the Steak and Scallops (see my photos). The type of beef I ordered was the NY strip. We were served a Miso soup and a small salad as "starters". These are included in the dinner. The Miso soup was pretty decent, although not the best and the salad was quite good with the sauce they used on it. Immediately after those two starters were served the show started. Now, I may sound like a prick here but some of these servers should come with subtitles in order to understand them. It's like watching a live theater performance of an old 'Godzira' vs. Mothra movie. Part of me is skeptical as to whether or not they make the waiters and waitresses purposely push the Japanese stereotype and accent. I have a strong feeling that those cooks walk out of there speaking perfect english with zero accent. Basically, and ear muff your kids, or eye muff your kids in this instance, it all seems fake in my opinion. There is no Santa 'Craus'. I may be too critical but I cannot help it, I did enjoy the mind numbing entertainment. I was discouraged after I heard the other cook perform the same show and use the same lines on the table next to mine. I thought these guys improvised a bit...and maybe they do, but I think it's all a vertical script (see what I did there?). Anyway, the vegetables were good, the noodles were okay, the rice was fairly good, the scallops were better than expected and the steak was a bit dry, but not too bad. It was all served in that exact order, so it is a constant influx of food as the cook...uh...cooks the food in front of you and serves it. It's a lot of food, so be prepared to have a big appetite to eat all of it. I mainly went here just for a buddy's birthday (as mentioned above), otherwise I would not go here again. It's fun once, after that it's just blah. I can think of better places to visit. However, if you're up for a quick Japanese stereotype fix, then by all means... Sayonara!

Hubby and I stayed at a hotel right down the street from Kobe and walked there one night for some sushi and drinks. We ordered two rolls and some nigiri. Their hotate gai was delicious! I had never had hotate served in the way that they served it (chopped, rolled in seaweed and covered in roe) only straight nigiri or sashimi. The rolls were good, although I had spicy tuna (and maguro sashimi) and the tuna had definitely tip-toed past its expiration date...it was icky fishy. We sat at the bar (not the sushi bar, the regular bar) and the bartender was...kind of unfriendly, but warmed up toward the end. The drinks were nothing to write home about, just ok. We only went there the one time, but would go back, if we are ever in the same area again.

Hibachi is always good! Happy hour is even better! If you haven't experienced Hibachi before, you're missing out. Kobe's does hibachi extremely well and they are very popular in the Central Florida area. I am a fan of their Long Islands on Happy Hour, which is my method of choice to get a nice buzz going. Bartenders are good here, servers are attentive. It is one of their newer locations too, so the atmosphere is nicer than the older locations. It's also a great place to celebrate birthdays with a hibachi show because you get half off your dinner on your birthday. AND after 9pm, they have a dinner for 2 for $32 promotion. Volcanoes made out of onions and corny puns and jokes with food...LOVE IT!

This Kobe restaurant is amazing! The interior is massive, it's got this castle/fort feel to the structure with th super tall ceilings. Our drinks came quickly and the meal was just like many other Kobe's though our cook wasn't as talkative or joking as others I've encountered over the years but that's okay.. I've heard the "egg roll" joke soooo many times!

As Kobes go this one is one of the nicest I've seen. The place is sparkling new with tall ceilings, recessed candles, koi ponds and fountains. Very different from the Kobes of yesterday. We went here for a friends birthday. I think everybody there was there for someones birthday. They came around with that gong a dozen times throughout dinner! The show is cheesy with the same silly Japanese jokes. Still, it's a great place for a group and is entertaining to the kids. The service is fast, once you are seated. They want to get you in and out! A leisurely dinner this is not! Mushroom soup was flavorful but had the thinnest slivers of mushrooms I've ever seen. The salad was too peppery for my taste. I ordered the scallops and shrimp dinner ($26). I'm a particular fan of the veggies, of which you never seem to get enough of. I love the noodles too and of course the yummy white sauce. Almost everyone at the table skipped the ginger sauce for double white. Although the food is pricey you do get a ton of it. I always have enough for leftovers- sometimes twice over! Mixed drinks are weak and expensive. Stick with beer or wine and if you can hit happy hour (open-6pm and 9pm-close) you can get 2-for-1 draft beer and other drink/food deals. Unfortunately the ONLY draft beer they have is Bud Light. Seriously?!? Oh well, a good time was still had by all.

I was in Orlando from out of town, and wanted some sushi. This was the closest place around so I dialed up and gave it a shot at take-out. After fifteen minutes of repeating my order over 5 times and being passed back and forth between people who were either paying attention to other people or too busy to even be bothered, my order was in. It wouldn't be ready for an hour, which I'll take for a Friday night. When I arrived I was shooed aside and sent to the sushi bar for pick up, where I had to flag down a server to be able to pay and collect, for there was no one dedicated to this area. My 4 roll order only contained 3 rolls and were covered in roe, which I asked to be left off, each of my five repetitions on the phone. I was told they no longer served the missing roll, but wasn't called to be informed nor offered a comparable alternative. Needless to say, the service was TERRIBLE. The only reason they get 2 stars is because the sushi was decent and priced okay, as well. I won't be getting take out from there ever again. I may give it another chance at dine-in, but I'll have to really be in the mood.

I came here with my mom on a mother-daughter date. I wasn't expecting much as it is a chain, but the food was amazing! The chef was funny and attentive, and the waitress was on top of things as well. I did hear the chef at the neighboring table using most of the same jokes, but it was a lot of fun. I have been to many hibachi style restaurants and was pleasantly surprised by this one!

Went for happy hour/early bird specials and sat the Hibachi table (before the fire starts, it is very cold, bring a jacket!), my boyfriend and I split a chicken finger roll, I like that the sushi pieces were cut thinly for once, you could actually fit the whole piece in your mouth. The sushi was simple and the sauce that came along was very tasty. Usually we're more adventurous with our sushi but I was feeling simple food. I ordered the chicken and he got the teriyaki steak (medium). I am half-Asian and although the accents seem fake and a bit over the top and the jokes are silly, I still love to watch the process of using the grill. The soup with the mushrooms at the beginning does a great job of keeping you warm, the one thing I did not overly enjoy was the salad, there was a bit too much ginger dressing on there. The chicken was extremely tender, we had so much food and I filled up on vegetables too soon, we had more than enough rice, noodles and chicken to take home for the next day. I enjoyed my meal and the conversation with our table guests. Definitely a nice and clean location to visit. The happy hour specials were good prices and I would definitely come back for the after 9pm for the 2 for 34$ deal, or for some happy hour sushi, appetizers and maybe some drinks.

Went to Kobe for Valentines Day. It was a nice experience, but different. The 2 of us sat at a table with 7 other people in front of a hot grill. So happy we didn't take our 2 year old. She would have definitely touched the grill. We had the chicken and new york strip. I liked it, but my husband didn't like the fact that they cut all the meat into cubes. I can see his point. Sometimes you just like to have the bone. The salad with ginger dressing was awesome. I could eat that all day. The noodles and veggies were also delicious. The fried rice was ok. The white sauce was also ok, it kind of reminded me of thousand island dressing mixed with vinegar. Gratuity was an automatic 18%. I would definitely go back one day, but not anytime soon.

Excellent Hibachi and a great time! Food is always enjoyable (it's definitely the white sauce) and cook/wait staff are very helpful. I always seem to get my money's worth!

I went to this Kobe for my last Sunday girls' night out. We had a very entertaining cook at the hibachi grill. Actually, all of any of my past cooks seem to have a sense of humor. They must be trained in actively engaging the customers sitting around the table. The fire tricks don't get old. The prices are kinda high, but the food is good. Portions are relative. Seems like it depends. Some cooks are fair with portion distribution. Others, favor customers that are most engaging and dolly out more rice (not that carbs are our friends), pasta and veggies to that one more than others. All in all, the food is consistent, delicious, and the cooking show in all its phases are very entertaining.

4 stars for a great service, I would give more stat if they have Uni but they dont. They also do happy hour for Hibachi lovers like come 2 but pay just 1! Plus their Lychee Hot Sake is so good :_)

Food is always good. The ambience is beautiful, the service is good. Try the Teppan Grill, you'll have fun. Loved the sushi too. Tip: after 9:00 pm is two for $32 and between 5-6 pm for less than $5 you can have noodles/chicken and other options. Go on your birthday and they will deduct $$$ from your bill. What else can we ask????

The ambiance here is so classy and romantic. High ceilings, coy fish pond, low lights, candles in the wall. I love it here! The food is always great and you can always count on having a good time here. They have great happy hour specials from the food to the drinks. So grab your friends and order some sushi and sake bombs!

One word: HappyHourisawesome. Both times I've gone were for special occasions: the usual once-a-year (obviously?) birthday and the once-in-a-lifetime college grad celebration (unless you decide to go back to school, not so obvious.) Just by walking into Kobe's, their stylish decor and ambiance makes you want to eat here. HH is from open - 6PM and 9PM-close, by the way. You can sit at the hibachi tables and have food thrown around by chefs with exploding onion volcanos or have a regular sit-down served by wonderful people. There's even another option: have a drink at the bar AND do happy hour. And if you decide to hang out here, ask for Steven. Awesome guy and will take care of ya. I like chill spots and this definitely counts as one of them in the East Orlando/UCF area. From food such as sushi rolls to drinks like sake bombs all for $5 and under, you have a pretty good variety of items to choose from off the HH menu. The chicken noodles are great and the Long Islands are strong. One more thing, they won't seat you until your whole party is physically there so keep that in mind when having a group event. HH at Kobes is awesome! Eat here!

First, the building and decor are awesome! They even have a fish pond in the foyer. The food here was about what you would expect in a Japanese steakhouse. Our service was not perfect. They forgot the chicken part of my son's meal, but corrected it quickly. I ordered my chicken with an Asian bar-b-q sauce, but the sauce was nowhere to be found. (I didn't say anything about it.) Everything else was fine. The chefs put on the usual show with your food. One thing I did think was annoying was they kept doing this "Uuu-i, uuu-i" sound. Once would have been entertaining, but they kept doing it to the point the chefs at different tables were volleying it back and forth. Realll annoying! They need to stop that. Overall, it was a good evening even with quirks

As a general rule, I am HUGE fan of the whole dinner show thing. I am ALSO a huge fan of the Food Network. Kobe's combines my two loves into one delicious experience: I can watch my food be cooked AND be entertained at the same time! It's like a live-action "30 Minute Meals," except instead of 30 minutes, it's 1.5 glorious hours. This location is the most beautiful Kobe's I've ever been to. I usually go to the one in Altamonte Springs, but this one, built within the last year, is much closer. And incredibly GORGEOUS. There's rock walls, changing LEDs, glass window displays with zen gardens: it's a completely different dining experience at this Kobe's than any I've ever been too; the atmosphere definitely contributes. The food, as always is great. Love the clear onion soup and the gingery salad to start, as always. One thing is for sure, with this new Kobe's they definitely "cleaned" up the actual cooking process. Instead of waiting until the end and scraping up all the gross little black bits into a gutter on the table, the chefs clean up as they go, making for a much more pleasurable eating experience, since you don't have to stare your food remnants down while you try to eat. Also, the giant layout of the restaurant has made it possible for chefs to cook without being cramped (more room to flip lobster tails into their hats, I suppose...) and for diners to dine without elbowing the person behind them in the kidneys. I was very very pleased. This is the only Kobe's for me and I will definitely be returning.

Waiting for a table.even with a reservation... And a bar as slow as ice. But once we get seated the fun begins. Everyone loves Kobe! For regulars I was surprised to see they served the rice last now - and they kept it separate in a nice little bowl instead of dumping it on top of everything you are trying to finish. Kudos to you Kobe for figuring this one out! Nobody at our table touched the rice and took it home - and this made it much easier to do! For those of you that have never been it is really simple. Pick from the hibachi menu. Filet and chicken is my favorite. But your combos include Chicken, Shrimp, Scallops, Steak, and Lobster. Then sit back and enjoy the show!

I really had a great time here. We are huge Benihanna fans and this was the first time that we found somewhere similar. We would have gone sooner but this was the first time we were able to actually get a reservation on a weekend night. The service was great and the food was delish. The mexican roll is awesome and the only regret I have is that I couldn't finish all of my food .. although I did try really hard. We will be going back :)

I'm a big fan of these places. See my list titled: "My Japanese Steakhouse resume. :)" to understand where I'm coming from. Kobe: Great building. Cool interior decor. Tons of hibachi tables! Their soup and salad are good. I like their dressing. We had a rookie chef that was too involved with jokes and less concerned with technique so the whole thing made me nervous considering I'm paying $30 for what he's slapping around on the grill. Their white sauce could use a little kick and their brown sauce is quite decent. The food was great despite the crazy antics of the chef. He dropped his spatula on the ground three times and his fork twice, had a difficult time organizing all of the cooking that was happening and seemed to use his humor to distract from awkward situations. A table came in after us and left before us with a different chef. Our meal took a long time due to his issues. BUT the food turned out okay and my filet mignon was excellent. I don't understand why they serve the noodles with the hibachi in these places now. They didn't used to. It was too much food before but now it's just ridiculous. I decline the noodles all together. Quit the noodles guys. We don't need them at these huge meals. Soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, veggies, rice, meat... it is too much already. Ditch noodles. :) They have clean restrooms. I will go back if I have a different chef. It's expensive. $40-50 for one person with a few beers, but I'll go back someday.

Holy Kobe, I think I fell in love (again). I have already been in love with Asian food for years and Hibachi is by far my favorite presentation of food. That being said, it would be hard for Kobe to disappoint me, and they did not! We came here (with no reservations, whoops) for my birthday and were seated within half an hour. From what I know about Hibachi waiting thirty minutes is nothing. The ginger salad is, well, a ginger salad, but great at that. The drinks were strong, and okay. Nothing special, so next time I'll stick to saki. The dinner was more than amazing, and I would not recommend eating a whole entre alone. The serving sizes are truly meant for two. The white sauce that they serve with the food is to die for. It is some creamy goodness sent from heaven to make you want to overindulge and binge drink it plain. That is how amazing it is. The chef was funny and recognized my birthday with a chef hat, fire, and song! I will for sure come here any time I am craving some bomb Hibachi.

service is mediocre but the food is good. If you've been to one Kobe you've been to them all basically. One thing that is awesome about this place is that the building was made for them as opposed to other locations where they moved in an old spot. This place is modern and new with nice decorations.

So the first thing I noticed when I walked in was the beautiful rock wall, along with the rock waterfall that goes into the coy pond. Very beautiful interior and great atmosphere. If this was the sole thing that I were rating them on, then they'd get five stars. We were smart and made reservations online, keeping our wait time to a minimum. Within 10 minutes, we were seated. However, a member in our party didn't scoot all the way down leaving an empty seat between him and the other party, which then left two empty chairs. I know they usually like to fill all the chairs there, and then there were two Vietnamese employees saying something in Vietnamese and one kept pointing at the chair to the other. I can only assume she was upset that the hostess allowed there to be an empty chair, but I really have no idea what she was saying. I thought this was a little rude to of her with her tone of voice (definitely didn't seem happy). The service over all was pretty good however. They were very good about refilling drinks, very friendly and attentive. The chef did a great job of preparing the food and put on a good show without making any mistakes. One thing that I wish they would change is the stupid gong they continuously hit. It must have been everybody's birthday there today, because every 5 minutes, they'd come out with the gong and keep hitting it while singing Happy Birthday. This is very problematic if you have a 5 month old baby that you bring along and the table next to you has a birthday. Our baby is very good about behaving at restaurants, but that LOUD gong was just too much for him. Also, for the money that you pay, I don't feel that you get that great of a value. If you go down the street to Fuji Sushi, they have teppan grills there too, but by default, everybody gets shrimp, where as in Kobe you must pay extra. Also, in Fuji, the fried rice is better. I also ordered a couple rolls of Sushi and was really not impressed. Fuji also has much better sushi, and a bigger menu selection as well, offering some authentic Japanese dishes, like Udon noodles, soba and much more. Kobe does have a lot more space and a great atmosphere, so you'll likely get seated a little quicker, but if you go at the right time and day, you can get seated very quickly at Fuji as well. I have gone to other Kobe's before and after going to Fuji, didn't find myself as impressed any more. I decided to try this one out because it's right down the street and it's new. Also, my mom insisted on trying it out as well. It's worth checking out and giving it a try, but personally, I wasn't that impressed over all.

My first and only visit to this Kobe location really wow'ed me. Despite never eating at these kind of restaurants before, the manager was extremely nice and was able to help me and my party with how the restaurant works. It's brand new and everything is very clean and neat. The food here is excellent and done perfectly. The chef I had didn't have too flaws during the cooking of the food. There is a variety of meats to choose from such as salmon, grouper, tuna, steak, filet mignon, sirloin, and lots more. There are also COMBO meals such as a steak with chicken or steak with shrimp that is relatively cheaper than separate orders. All these meats are prepared very well, and I especially loved the filet mignon. It is very tender and delicious. The chefs are entertaining, and they provide some fun while you wait and they cook. Every meal comes with a bowl of salad, a bowl of rice( fried rice for a dollar), and chow mein. The salad is just Italian dressing over a bowl of fresh vegetables, nevertheless I enjoyed it. The fried rice is made very well and also in front of your eyes. The chow mein is plain; it is just fried a bit with soy sauce.

Had dinner with friends and family and this other lady asks for extra soy sauce...I made it clear I just wanted the butter instead ( which is offered as an alternative on the menu) and he didn't. He simply listened to her and drizzled the whole soy sauce over everything and then I had NO vegetables with my meal and was offered no substitute for my missed portion of veggies. I will never go there again.

This location just opened last week, and my boyfriend and I have been there 3 times. We've only gone during their happy hour (before 6pm, and from 9pm to close) because the prices are AWESOME. Drinks are either $3 or $5 as well as a select food menu from $3-$5. We've gotten their fried rice (DELICIOUS), their Mexican Roll (unique, tasty, SCRUMPTIOUS), vegetable egg roll (your standard egg roll - nothing too extraordinary), and my boyfriend got the california roll. All was great! By the way, these selections were made throughout our 3 visits, not at once. We would need super!stomachs to fit all that at once. I checked the website for this location's hours, and apparently the place doesn't even open till 4:30-5pm, depending on the day. This means there are only 3 hours of being open that ISN'T happy hour. At that rate, I would definitely recommend going during happy hour. While my boyfriend and I have only done "traditional" seating, the hibachi area looks like a blast. There are always crowds of people waiting, a lot of laughter and screaming and joy emanating from the room. Have a large group or a party? Highly recommended.

This was my first time experience to eat at a restaurant that cooks in front of you. I did the meal deal after 9pm 2 eat for $32. The food was great especially the steak. The chef had some funny jokes. Now the restaurant is very nice inside with some koi ponds that are very pretty. I really like the Japanese culture so I bought their cute panda souvenir cup. I would definitely come back again.

This place is gigantic. The decor is very nice and it's quite cozy and dark. It keeps with the simple chic Japanese style and the coy fish fountains in the front are a nice touch. The service is fantastic. My glass was never empty and of course the hibachi chefs are upbeat and entertaining. The food is pretty standard. Not too much to complain about, but nothing really to rave about. The soup and salad were nice and the veggies were good. The noodles I wasn't really impressed with, but I didn't leave a single noodle behind, so well, that kind of says something too. I was surprised the chef asked like I how my sirloin cooked since he was very busy with a full table and I like my beef very rare, but he cooked it just right. Plus 5 points for that guy. Was I blown away? Maybe by the decor and service, but by the food, not so much. I'd recommend it for someone who's never been to give it a shot for the experience. It was good but not great, but nothing was bad. So overall it's A-ok.

Their happy hour menu is an amazing value. If you go late night, (after 9pm), you can get some very high quality sushi rolls for $3-$4. It's one of the best values in town, the only problem is because it's so good, sometimes you'll go late night and have a long wait for a table.

Last night, I had the WORST experience at Kobe's. I spoke to the chef and the waitress about having a gluten-free meal, and they all said "so problem, we'll cook it for you inside, separately". And they did. They STEAMED everything, and brought me a plate of BLANDEST food I've had in a very long time, completely unseasoned. Even my SUSHI RICE was completely unseasoned. They clean the grill after every course, why couldn't they cook my food on the grill like everyone else? And vinegar is gluten-free, why wasn't it in my sushi rice like it was supposed to be? And would it be so hard to keep a bottle of gluten-free soy sauce on hand for these situations? It doesn't go bad. THAT SUCKED :(

Food was ok, didnt love it. the food at Wazzabi was much better but service at Wazzabi was AWFUL. it was a very cold night we visited a couple weeks ago and everyone at our table was freezing. the two ppl next to us went to there car and got hats and scarfs. the manager tried to help but he said it was the venting not and that they didnt have the AC on so he could do nothing other then offer hot tea. So i would give 4 stars for the service but the food was only ok even tho they gave much bigger proportions then Wazzabi the food was not as good as Wazzabi.
