Had a *.com coupon and used it.... well tried to use it when I had my kids for the weekend... as I walked in with my 3 kids "no use between dec 20-jan 9" hmmm looked in noone was there. Used it the other night with a guest, family style food and 2 person appitizer sample. Soup (eggdrop/wonton mix) was good. Downhill at 75 mph from there. Apps: Chicken wings (goodish) Rangoon (burnt and inedible) spareribs (deep fried and inedible and deep fried with the other apps?, one was stuck to rangoon) one shimp (good) spring rolls (OK). Shrimp and Lobster Sauce: 5 shrimp in a soupy mess with some peas and chestnuts no flavor at all. . Beef Oyster Sauce: Pepper steak without peppers and a soupy mess, no flavour at all added soy then it was just a salty soupy mess. Service: When we asked for duck or hot mustard it was a huge hassle to them and they brought about 1 oz of each then asked for more got rolling eyes and sighs as they went to get it. They brought the soup apps and entree within mins. of each other and tryed to grab the other plates out of the way (from the apps we got i assume to serve it to the next victim and then destroy it more). 10x better food at the typical NY style chinese takeout, dont waste your time. If you are close to this area I would try anything else, i live down the street from them and will never be back.

For a city with a relatively thriving Asian population, Orlando is surprisingly lacking in the delicious dim sum department. Sure there are establishments out there that serve dim sum, and some proclaim they do but really don't (Dim Sum Feast in Pine Hills does not - its a buffet). Of my visits to various Chinese restaurants in our area, I believe that Ming's Bistro still stands firmly as the best for dim sum, if you don't mind the weekend crowds. If you are not in the downtown area, there is one other place in Orlando where I can trust their dim sum to be deemed delightful: Golden Lotus. Situated in awkward Wal-Mart Plaza on the corner of John Young Blvd and Sand Lake Rd, you might visit it if you are headed to or coming from the Florida Mall just a few street lights away. The place is often sparse on the weekdays but can get quite busy on the weekend. They serve dim sum every day till 4 pm. Inside, at first glance it may seem to be another stereotypical "Chinese" restaurant, but take a look closer and you will find delicious wonders within. Overall, I would recommend Golden Lotus for some good, fairly priced authentic Chinese food and would rate it under Ming Bistro for dim sum . Also try the Szcheuan Beef Noodle soup here, a huge steamy bowl of deliciousness.

I've been coming to this place since I was a kid. It's come along way from when it first started to where it's at now. Decor has much improved with new tiles, paintings on the wall, and they finally have a steady AC system working. The staff knows my family and I by now, so every time we come in we are greeted and everyone seems very friendly. The food is great, we just get dim dim which ends at 3:30. Shumai is very good along with shrimp rice paste. The price is just right as well. If you're not in the DT area and looking for some good dim sum then this is the place to go.

Tasty, authentic dim sum at very reasonable prices! Went here after looking thru our choices for dim sum near Orlando, and we were pleasantly surprised! The dim sum isn't served in carts like I'm used to, but they had a nice menu w pictures of all their dim sum offerings and a paper order sheet for choosing what you wanted. The har Gao (shrimp dumplings) were delicious. The shrimp rice noodles (Chou fun) were my favorite dish there. I also had one of the lunch specials (under $6!): the shrimp w lobster sauce and fried rice. Both were awesome. All in all, the food was great, the service was great, the prices were amazing. It's not the place to go for ambiance, but it's great for eating. We might go again this week!

They write tipping amount for you! 18% enforced when we had only three people tonight. When I asked why, the waitress seemed surprised and responded "we just write them for you." Eh.... Not sure what she is thinking. I always thought tipping is the right of customer's. Everything else was about right.

This is my first experience with dim sum and it was great. My friend ordered all the food and I just ate... And ate . We had no problem with the service at all. They were very nice. Lots and lots of dumplings and steamed buns and a great variety of other crazy stuff, chicken feet, tripe .... It was helpful to have a friend who knew what to order. They have a picture menu for the dim sum which I would use next time. They have two completely different menus, one all fake American Chinese food and the other Chinese menu, go for the real stuff. It was terrific!

Tried to order for pick up over the phone and was told to call back 5 minutes because she was very busy at this moment . Understandable for high volume lunch time . However , I called back after 5 minutes that wouldn't be taking more than thirty seconds to place my take- out order . Guess what happen ? No answer ..... Oh well , I don't know how these people running their business . Hire more if it is busy .

The dim sum was ok. The seafood pan fried noodle was tasteless. Waste of my money. Most unappealing of this experience was the service. The waitress has the most thick skin ever. She was standing next to the table to watch me counting out the money and then telling me how much gratuity should be included. If she has done her job correct, then she shouldn't feels insecure about the tip she is received. Manner is very important. I can't believe the owner allows for this to happen. I definitely Do NOT recommend this restaurant.

DIM SUM REVIEW :: I heard the Dim Sum here is top rated so I had to try it myself. After my errands at Walmart I went and checked them out and got there 10 mins after opening which was 11am. The lights were on but their OPEN sign was off so to me was confusing. Only time I knew they were REALLY OPEN was when a chinese couple actually opened the doors. I immediately jumped out my car and asked to see the DimSum menu because I am ordering to go. The place was empty only 1 table with customers but 20-30 mins later the place was getting full. The DimSum hours are everyday from 11am-4pm. I ordered Siu Mai, Shrimp Har Gow, Fried Taro, Egg Tart, Shrimp Noodle Paste, Beef Chow Fun. The Siu Mai was smaller in size compared to Ming Bistro Version -- But theirs taste FRESHLY MADE! The pork was fresh and it was good!! Too bad its smaller portioned! One of the good highlights of my dim sum order! The Shrimp Har Gow also smaller sized and imo the skin was thicker than Ming Bistro. This was okay. Shrimp Rice Paste was freshly made and delicious But small shrimps inside. The shrimp is fresh but small. The sweet soy sauce was good not overly sweet. Egg Tarts were Yummy and Delicious - Flaky light crust pastry and soft egg custard! This was the other good highlight of my dim sum order! Fried Taro were good but this was my first time eating these. It had a good "flavor" but not really a fan - Would not order again. I ordered these because my coworker Dr stated these were her fave because it had the flavor of "Anis" in which to her was good but different & she is chinese! Im def a fan of their Beef Chow Fun - They make it good here! I will def order more Siu Mai, Egg Tart next time & try the Chive Dumplings and Steam Pork Buns!

Simple Chinese restaurant that serves delicious, authentic dim sum! The outside may turn you off but the food quality is impeccable.

I've been here a few times before for dim sum. I love the variety they offer. You order from a card that they bring to the table and they only bring you the items you want. Most portions are a reasonable size. It's easy to go overboard and order to much. The restaurant gets really busy and the tables fill up fast. Get there early if you don't want to wait.

We are always excited to get out of town and find dim sum since we don't have it in our city. Golden Lotus has been the most disappointing experience yet. At first I thought the dim sum just seemed less greasy--and that was pleasing. But as I continued to taste other items, it just seemed boring. Sad stuff. We'll do better for our next trip!

Taste very bad. I do not have much expectation for an americanized chinese food, but this one is particularly bad.

Chow funn was very good. The har gaw(shrimp dumpling) was better than the shu mai. The charsiu Chung Gunn (rice paste) was good. Overall it good. Recommend others to come.

We came. We ate. We took no doggy bags. We were driving through the ghost town of a shopping center when we hit Golden Lotus. We were starving and craving Chinese, so we stopped. We figured the lack of cars out front was attributed to the fact that it was a sunday night. Now for the pros: The service was fantastic. Our server constantly checked in with us, although to be fair, there was only one other table besides us. The portions were also quite sizable. The egg drop soup was also quite tasty. The cons: The fried rice and chicken were both cooked, but somehow tasted wrong. As a result, I didn't eat too much. Unfortunately, it appears to be a restaurant struggling to stay afloat in what appears to be a dying shopping center.

This is my favorite place to come for Dim Sum! The place doesn't have cart service (Haven't been to a place in Orlando with Cart service yet), but they whip up the food and present it nice and hot. Try the Pork bun, Shu mai (My favorite) and the dumplings. Definitely good food and it won't break the bank!

The service is really horrible! I came here when there's a lot of customer around and the way they treat the customers is just not right. My friend asked something about a dish and they would even answer "none of your business" how rude. Being a Chinese who has eaten a lot of dim sum I don't think their food is really nice though. Not too bad, edible but not enough for me to crave and come back for it.

If you want real Hong Kong style dim sum, this is the place to come!! I have been a regular customer to Golden Lotus for about 8 years now. They have the best dim sum in town or in Florida! I am serious! They don't have the dim sum carts. They give you a list and you order dim sum from there. Everything is fresh and tasty!! The service is not great, but they are honest people. Unlike other restaurants try to ask you to order the most expensive dishes! The dishes I like include chicken feet, eggplant with shrimp, shrimp dumpling, BBQ pork bun, siu lung bun...everything is good!! dinner is great too, they serve big portion of dishes and the rice is free.

It's a big ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh~ for me. Having experienced a lot of dim sum places, I would consider myself as a dim sum connoisseur, especially growing up with it and living in Hong Kong for a few years. I wouldn't really come back here other than that it's in a relatively central place bewteen the places that I shop at and my home. If I have a craving and driving by it, I may stop by. I'm looking at the other reviews and I am really going to have to try Ming's Bistro because this place doesn't really cut it as a good dim sum. I tried their Singapore Noodles and it was a BIG BIG disappointment for me. AND my seat was kind filthy... :\ However, my friends who aren't really Chinese/Dim Sum connoisseur thought is was good and they have "picture menus" for the Chinese character and awkward description challenged.

Went tonight for a bit with an out of town friend. The food was really good. Had vegetable spring rolls, fried dumplings, (good dipping sauce), special lo mien, pork fried rice and chicken with vegetables. Everything was yummy. Hey had the best hit Jasmine tea, very yummy. When I am back on that side of town again, will go to again. Got coupon off of restaurant.com , made it even better!

Visited the restaurant with the wife and friends. First appearance is that the place is small however the food definitely makes up for the location and size. Two people in my party had wonton soup. Both said it was some of the best they have tasted. Sweet and sour chicken: "It was nice and crispy and the sauce was very tasty". Pork lo mien and spring roll: "it was good...". As my friend smiled... I had the Shrimp with lobster sauce and spring roll which I thought was a little bland but good...The spring roll was very tasty. Beef and broccoli: "Very good"...that's all I could get from my wife because was too busy eating...That and she said "the rice is brown! The way it should be..." Over all it was a great experience...Cheap and good food!

Ordered take out Dim Sum around 2:30 in the afternoon. ( steamed & roast pork buns, black bean short ribs, stuffed bean curd, shrimp paste & chow fun). Bc it is not cart service, it takes about 20 minutes for it to make - no problem. Came out hot and fresh and order was perfect - no mistakes! Food was great - prices just as great. Definitely coming back!!

Been to many Chinese restos before...and this joint is typically the same...same kinda service, meaning rude asian waiters...typical menu... nothing special. If u want good Chinese in Orlando ...hit the ones on east colonial.

Hidden gem in Orlando I see some negative reviews about the staff but never encountered this myself. I literally eat here 2-3 times a month sometimes more. I've had Dim Sum, noodles, duck etc etc pretty much everything on the menu. It's good stuff and the staff is friendly maybe this dude went after a dim sum rush and everyone was tired. Everyone has off days no need to 1 star the review also looking at your history of reviews seems he has a hard time being happy anywhere. If your nearby on a weekend lunch I would recommend trying here it's not just a typical fast food Chinese.

It's a hole in a wall type feel, but the food is good. Their dim sum is good and they serve soup dumplings. The soup dumplings are not up to par with other places I have been to but I think it's the only restaurant that has it in Orlando. I may be wrong and I hope I am. Please send me a message if you know of another place! I wouldn't recommend this place for you to try soup dumplings for the first time, but if you are craving it and there aren't any around then this might cure the itch of your taste buds. I would go here again. It's cheap and it feels right eating Chinese food there. And I don't mean that in a bad way.

i have been to golden lotus restaurant many times be for the one and only thing that i go there for is the dim sum. there dim sum is very great and very cheap. its not cheaply made but 2 people can eat fro around $20. the one draw back to this restaurant is there service and the cleanly nest of there dinning area. if it was not for these 2 things i would give them 5 stars they really need to replace the carpet and give the place a good cleaning. will i come back yes i would. the other foods are not that great but there dim sum is something else. my mother love to come this place when she comes to town. i hop they clean it up and pick up there services.

Came here for Dim Sum. It is not the traditional Dim Sum where they push the carts around, you mark on the Dim Sum menu the items you like, and they prepare that item. This way has an advantage in which everything is fresh, but disadvantage is you have to wait 10 or more minutes for your items. Usually, when I go to Dim Sum, I am ready to raid the carts and load my table up with entrees, whereas here I have to wait. Marking the menus made me check off more items than I would take off the carts if the item was in front of you. Therefore, I ended up taking out items, something I have never done at Dim Sum before. This place is reasonably priced, a lot cheaper than Dim Sum in the DC area. However, they do not have the crab claw dish, which is my sole reason for craving Dim Sum. If you have good Dim Sum/Chinese where you are, than I would not recommend this place. If you are craving Dim Sum while vacationing in Orlando, then this place may be worth a shot.

I'm very happy to find a dim sum place a little closer to home. They serve dim sum daily from 11am to 4pm. On a Saturday at 2:00, the place was pretty busy. We were seated quickly and given a paper menu to order from. They have the standard dim sum offerings as well as some noodle dishes and soups. We ordered the siu mai, steamed spare ribs, tripe, and sticky rice. Everything was tasty. Service was a little slow but nothing that was a problem for a weekend meal.

Me- "Hi, how long is the wait for a table?" Hostess-"I don't know! You see how every table is packed?" LMAO, ok. Truth be told, I always need to brace myself if I see old school asian servers at traditional Chinese restaurants. They are blunt and very concise with their words and gestures. Hospitality is not a norm, but a luxury. I can't help but laugh at some of the servers here because I find their rudeness endearing at times. Of course I have to be in the mood to deal with their service, so visits here are occasional. On the occasions I do come here though and actually get a table, then the dim sum is so worth it! Golden lotus serves dim sum fresh-to-order. That means no moving carts and haphazard ordering. Instead, you go through their list of offerings and carefully decide which items you want to devour in advance. On my latest visit, I was able to bypass the IDK lady and grab a table. SCORE! We ordered a bowl of beef stew soup with egg noodles, xiu mai(pork), ha cao(shrimp), tripe, sesame balls, & rice paste noodles with beef. For those that have never tried, then let me attempt to explain: Beef stew soup with egg noodles- A beef broth based soup with spices, beef chunks, tendons, and thin egg noodles. Their stew is served with some baby bok chow to help cut all the richness. Xiu Mai- Cute lil pork & shrimp dumplins wrapped in wonton wrappers. Definitely one of the more popular dim sum dishes. Ha Cao- Shrimp filling enveloped in a rice paste dough. This is always a mainstay dish that everyone orders every single time. Tripe- Yep, that weird taco filling option at Mexican restaurants that people are afraid to order is available for breakfast during dim sum! Their dim sum is made with ginger and scallions in a some type of broth. Rice paste noodles with beef - Delicate soft wide-rice noodles wrapped around beef. These noodles come doused in a sweet soy sauce. Sesame balls- A dessert that my bf likes to save for the very end. These sweet treats are so dense that you need to save them for last because if not, then you just screwed your appetite over. It's like a K-O for your hunger strikes. So, remember how I said Ha Cao is like a mainstay dish and to order them every single time you go for dim sum? Well, we ordered that dish and never got our order. Since we got so many things it really wasn't a big deal. Once we got our check however; we were still charged for that order of dumplings that we never received. Oh these tricky minxes! Golden Lotus is like a family Thanksgiving dinner with annoying relatives; you go for the food and just laugh at drunk Uncle Sal's antics. Good luck!

Have to say this place are a bunch of hustlers and crooks. When it was time to pay the bill they wrote in the tip for us...I thought this was pretty odd maybe tip was included for tables of 5 plus...so I called. They said only 6 people and up... boy I got swindled.

The Dim Sum is delicious and affordable, but it takes forever to get the actual food! Last time I dined in with a friend and it took a while, but I attributed that to the fact that they were somewhat busy. This time I placed an order for pick up. I was told 25 minutes, but I arrived in 30 due to traffic. When I got inside, I was told my order was still not ready and it should be about 5 more minutes. That was not a big deal, though it ended up being over 10 additional minutes of waiting and I was quite hungry. Especially since I was told that it was being checked on, yet the lady never moved from behind the counter. As I said, the food is good, but just be ready to wait.

I've been coming to Golden Lotus for dim sum for many years now so this review is long overdue. Throughout the years their dim sum has been consistently very good. It is comparable to the quality of dim sum places in New York and Toronto. While they don't have the huge variety that the heavily Chinese-populated cities have, the standards: roast pork bun, shrimp dumpling, siu mai, egg custard and rice noodle rolls (I believe they call them rice paste here) is excellent. Their beef chow fun and pan-fried noodles are also favorites of mine. They have a variety of Chinese teas you can order from: Jasmine, Oolong and Chrysanthemum. Note there is no green tea. If you're not familiar with dim sum, they have a picture menu that you may peruse. You pick the dishes you want from a list and they bring it out when it's ready. If it's busy, it can take a while so submit your order slip as soon as you can. They can only steam so many things at once so you may get certain things piece-meal. For instance I put in for 2 orders of roast pork bun, but I got one relatively quickly and then 10 minutes later got the other one. Like a previous reviewer stated, I would not expect top notch service here. Not to make excuses, but it's the culture. Things get lost in translation and the servers can come across very blunt. They have dim sum daily, but do note that their dim sum master goes on vacation to China for a month once a year so that would not be the best time to go. They usually tape a note on the door when he is out of the country so you'll know before heading in. Depending on what day of the week and time, this place can get really busy. We always get there by 11:30 to make sure we get a right-sized table for our party. There are quite a bit of tables for 4, but if you have a larger party they only have 4 larger-sized tables. The owners are typical Chinese restaurant owners. I've been going to their restaurants even before Golden Lotus so they are friendly to my family (really my parents because I'm not sure they recognize me). It does help to have someone who speaks Cantonese in your party who can read the menu. There are a few dishes that are only written in Chinese for some reason like the pan fried steamed buns that we enjoy. They also make a good steamed soup dumpling (Xiao Long Bao), but that particular dish is not quite comparable to the ones at Nan Xiang Dumpling House in Flushing, New York. ;-)

We arrived right when they opened at 11am and at 11:15, it was 90% full! That must say something about this place. The dim sum doesn't come out in a cart, you have to order on a piece of paper and they bring it out to you. We had a table of 12 so we had alot of food coming. All the food was delicious, especially since we were there first thing in the morning. We probably ordered half of the dim sum menu and I can tell you everything was well seasoned, tons of flavor and fresh. The staff is very friendly, attentive and accommodating. I enjoyed everything on the table and will be back again for some tasty dim sum.

I'm from the SF bay area and we are all about dim sum and Chinese food. Being on vacation, we found ourselves in this ghost town strip mall place wondering how many of the architects were stoned while designing this no exit parking lot. Hungry and desperate, we decided to abandon all hope of escaping this concrete jungle and parked to try some Chinese food... in Florida... where no one apparently shops on Sunday. Browsing through the yelp reviews for this place was entertaining and scary to say the least but we were pretty desperate to eat Chinese food. One of the tips I read was about the roast duck. I'm sort of picky, no, downright brutal when reviewing roast duck. I had my doubts but when the crispy golden delight appeared before me, I nearly shed a tear. Who would have guessed that some of the best roast duck could be had in a place like this. Seriously, back at home, if you wanted duck of this quality, you'd be waiting an hour or more at 7pm. Despite having only 2 other tables seated, this place has some real potential. I think the place is a casualty of a dying mall. The waitress was very attentive and friendly with us. The food came out quickly and everything was pretty ok. We had spicy tendon as the appetizer, beef noodle soup, tofu and mushrooms in Brown sauce and the roast duck. I'd give a solid meh for everything but the duck really stole the show. In case your wondering, meh for me really just means that the food is just your ordinary Americanized Chinese food. Think a step or two above Panda Express. Back to the duck. Most places serve roast duck with the skin barely crispy, very fatty, over seasoned, salty, and dry over fried meat. The duck that was placed before me was succulent, not greasy at all, and seasoned to perfection. It was so good that my picky non duck eating 5 year old ate 3 pieces no questions asked. Too sum it all up, getting stuck in this god forsaken parking lot, also known as the labyrinth from hell, turned out pretty good. I left with a happy tummy and everything came out just under 40 bucks including tip. Not a bad deal, and yes, we did finally escape the parking lot. 2 stars for good service, 1 star for meh food, 1 extra star for the awesome roast duck.

I love Dim Sum at Golden Lotus. It's made to order, fresh and tasty. They don't have the "carts" but it's better because everything is hot and fresh. I don't know the name of most of the items we eat. They offer a picture menu. Most Sunday's there is a wait. They have seating got larger parties with a lazy Susan to help with sharing.

I've been here several times. Every time, the food is always great. AND this is the only place in Orlando that has great, freshly made, Chow Fun, available all day long. Chow Fun is delicious in its simplicity; if you don't know what it is, I'd advise trying it here. Everywhere else only has frozen and it's always super oily. I love this place!

Authentic Chinese. Haven't tried the dim sum but have had dinner numerous times. Ask for the Chinese menu, it looks the same (size and color) but menu items are different. The Roast Duck is amazing, very crispy skin, juicy inside, full of flavor..beats duck at any fine dining establishment to me and for much less! We usually order the whole duck vs. half so we can have enough for later :) However, I doubt I'd have the Peking Duck here again, they did not do the traditional table side service of slicing and rolling individual pancakes with the scallions etc and the 3rd stage dish made with the meat left over was okay but not on par with its higher price. Early on, the food used to be hit or miss, especially take out. But they fixed any variances, because it has been consistently very good for a long time now. I don't know how well they do their westernized menu, moo goo gai pan etc; maybe if you go there for that, your experience may be different. Like so many "real" Chinese restaurants, don't expect elegant ambiance or service, its basic, functional, like just about all the genuine Chinese places, kind of a cultural thing ( I am part Chinese). Maybe these expectations could have caused some of the negative reviews I read. But you go here for the food! And the authenticity. Delicious. I have cravings for their food so Its in my small cycle of 4 (so far) that I go to when the Chinese cravings hit: Lams Garden, Ming's Bistro, Ming Court and Here.

I come here almost ever Saturday with my family. We know all of the wait staff and the owners. That being said, this is definitely the spot to come in southwest Orlando for dim sum. I go to another dim sum restaurant when I'm in the downtown area. The food here is delicious. My only complaints with this restaurant is that sometimes the service is not too good. I don't think there are enough servers working during the weekend, so refills can be nonexistent during the dining experience. Also, the owner refuses to keep the air conditioner set at standard American restaurant temperatures, so be prepared to sweat during your meal!

Lunch for 12, no reservation required. Years ago, we would have had to call in advance because it was always packed. The service was extremely slow and the food even slower. Why?? There was a missing cook in the kitchen. We ordered about 27 plates. Ate all but 5, food was good, service just slow. Drinks were hard to get and luckily we had Chinese at the table to translate. I'd come back when you have a cook.

This is real Chinese dim sum place, suitable for family with kids, although the location is not near the attractions, but still worth to go. Services are great, foods are delicious. Prices are reasonable too, recommend for those who look for real Hong Kong style dim sum Resturant.

Although I did not get to check in during my visit here, I still want to write a review of this restaurant. At first glance, it looked like any old fast food Chinese restaurant, but once seated, my husband and I could tell it was pretty authentic. I actually went onto yelp to help me decide which Chinese restaurant in Kissimmee would be the most authentic. Scrolling down the reviews, I noticed several Asian reviewers giving this place pretty high reviews compared to other restaurants nearby. So I thought, why not try this place out, it sounds slightly Americanized, but the reviews seemed legit. We ordered soup, half a roast duck, and a beef dish. The orders were prepared amazingly well. My husband is Chinese Singaporean and even he thought the food reminded him of Singapore. I'm Vietnamese American and I definitely enjoyed our dinner, after a wonderful massage at Lotus Blossum Massage. It was a sweet and homely dinner for us newlyweds. We will be back!

This is the best dimsum place in South Orlando. No fancy decor. But the dimsum they serve daily (11am-4pm), have been consistently delicious. They do not serve dimsum in carts. They cook their dimsum in the kitchen, & serve them in small stainless steel steamers & small plates. I always order the fried rice with salted fish & chicken, with my dimsum. I think it compliments the steamed shrimp dumpling, shumai & other dim sum choices.

Pretty lousy food, too much grease, the pork's texture felt off. I would not recommend. Even the Chinese cookie was hard as rock. Looks busy for lunch, I see no reason other than limited choices in this area.

I come here pretty often. Dim sum is on point and fried rice is always fresh. BUT the owner is super rude. I came to pick up my order for to-go and the old man(owner) told me to walk around somewhere instead of sitting and waiting because the food wasn't ready. Then I asked for hoisin sauce on the side he completely ignored me and looked at me like I did something wrong. And the whole time he was yelling not talking. He was just so mad at something. I'm not even expecting great customer service but why would you be so mean to your customers. I walked out completely lost my appetite.

The food here is great. Been eating here for years. But through out the years of eating here, I have never had great service here. I never wrote a review about it cause they have great food. Until today! It was the WOREST experience of all times. The employees decided to have their lunch next to my table. Which is not a problem. Until they started to smacking /slurping their food loudly. I literally lost my appetite and asked for the check and left.

Ordered the Buddha's delight. Was not delighted. Sauce had a slight burnt taste to it and very lacking in spices.

I'm a dim sum lover and I can definitely tell between good dim sum and bad dim sum. My boyfriend and I went in at around 11:05-11:10. We were immediately seated... obviously cause they only had a table to serve other than us. When we sat down, the waitress asked up what we would like to drink and when eating dim sum, you have to get tea! "Po Lay"... just ask for that. The tea alone took 15 minutes to make. We ordered quickly... 9 items - Shumai - Shrimp dumplings(Ha Gow) - Shrimp rice paste - Taro cake - Chicken Feet - Short spare ribs - Egg custard(Don Tot) - Tofu skin with meat filling - Beef Trip/osmasum Out of all these dishes, the taro cake was the best and everything else lacked flavors. Normally chicken feet has this really good red sauce but it wasn't present in my dish ! Big disappointment. The short spare ribs had barely any meat. It was all fat. The rest of the dishes were okay but nothing compare to other restaurants. We waited 20-25 minutes before our first dish came out and every 5 minutes, another dish would come out. Waiters are nice though.

Service was good. Wonton soup tasted like water with a burnt aftertaste. The rest of the dinner was average. I watched the cook microwave part of my dinner so I won't return.

Even if I hadnt gone one week without chinese food while on vacation. the dim sum here still would have rocked. But since I cant say that for sure, I'll base it off my experience, craving chinese food after being on vacation for a week. We heard about this place from the chinese masseuse at our hotel. It's not hard to find and when we drove up and saw chinese people walking out. It was a good sign. Luckily, a table had just cleared out so we were seated rather quick. The restaurant was packed. This place doesnt have carts, so theres a checklist menu. We ordered all the staple dishes, siu mai, beef cheurng fun, beef meat balls, cheurng fun wrapped cruller, chicken feet, fried dumplings, black bean beef with ho foon (not dim sum, but hit the spot), and stuffed eggplant. everything was delicious and fresh. I would definately recommend this to anyone visiting orlando. service was really good as well, attentive staff and it's always a good when it's clean. The air condition wasnt on full blast, so by the end of our meal we were a bit sweaty, but it's worth it for good food, right? hell yes.

Chinese BBQ was superb! Clean, spacious with great service! Our love of Cantonese food started in NY Chinatown so we're extremely selective when it comes to Chinese BBQ in Atlanta. My husband loves to use his Cantonese whenever he gets a chance and the staff was excited and appreciative of his efforts. But more than that, our family loves flavorful cantonese fare in ample portions...and I mean ample! BBQ Pork/Chicken plate, Chinese Broccoli, Beef Chow Fun. ALL were winners!

Very nice, good quality Dim Sum. Clean and adequate service. Miss the cart service and service could be faster. New hours 11a-10p. I will be back. Thanks again Yelp.

I like dim sum a lot. Scratch that. I absolutely love dim sum. If you haven't ever had dim sum, then you're missing out on some amazing stuff. First off, what is dim sum? Imagine if you will, Chinese food but tapas style. Most items are steamed or fried and you don't eat it with rice. Dim sum literally means touching the heart. My family and I would have dim sum and drink tea (yum cha) on Sundays. The dim sum lady would push her cart and I anxiously looked to see what items would be in the steamed baskets. I've had periods of time where the areas I lived in didn't have any dim sum at all. I was one sad girl. Luckily, in Orlando we do have a few restaurants serve dim sum even during the week. Whenever I have family and/or friends in town, I take them to Golden Lotus. It really isn't much to look at on the outside since it's in a shopping center between John Young Parkway and Sand Lake Road. The interior isn't much to look at either. There's a large fish tank facing you right when you walk in. To the right, you'll usually see one of the servers. The dining area is medium sized and it gets packed on the weekends. The placemats are the disposable one with zodiac animals on them. A bit tacky but it's still nostaglic for me. Whenever I get dim sum, I order chrysanthemum tea. It's light, floral and quite good for you. It does not contain any tea leaves and it's literally dried flowers. Upon request, they'll give you rock sugar. They have varieties of teas available as well. When you tell the server you're going to order dim sum, they'll give you a menu for you to select items. It's à la carte style, similar to selecting sushi and if you have no clue what you're ordering then they also pictures. They don't have a dim sum cart at this restaurant, which I'm fine with because I know what I want. As far as pricing goes, it's relatively inexpensive and good quality as compared to some other establishments in Orlando. The food is brought out when it's done rather than all at once. Although sometimes everything seems to just come out all at once. One of my favorite dim sum items is the shrimp rice paste. As a warning, for those who do not have good chopsticks skills, they will certainly have difficulty eating this. It's like steamed sheets of a "dough" that have various fillings in the middle (in this case, shrimp), which is then folded and served with a sweet soy sauce. It will be slippery. Next up was the fried taro dumpling, it does look strange. Some fried brown hairy mass. I assure you, it's delicious. Inside it has taro and ground meat. Taro is a root vegetable used in a lot of cuisines and the light purple hue is natural. I always enjoy this with a little soy sauce and Chinese hot oil. I then had har gow, stuffed bean curd skin, chicken feet. Har gow is shrimp dumplings, warm and succulent, you can never go wrong with these. The stuff bean curd skin sounds odd but it also it filled with yummy goodness. Inside the bean curd skin, there is meat and vegetables steamed in a light brown sauce. Perfect with my hot oil which is roasted red chili pepper flakes. Last but not least, there is the chicken feet. I'm actually picky about my chicken feet. It's not that I eat them all the time but when I do, they better be good! If it isn't done right, it just tasty...fatty. The chicken feet is here good, tasty and silky texture. I know it sounds pretty gross still, but this is a great place to try them. Dim sum is served from 11 am to 4 pm and Golden Lotus has a regular menu with lunch specials as well. I've never had any complaints coming here and I definitely recommend people to come here and experience a different side of Chinese food.

I should have been tipped off by the way they answered the phone. I understand that your English maybe limited but when I ask you for your hours, I only asking for your hours. I don't need to know what time lunch ends and dinner begins. We get there early in the afternoon for a late lunch/ early dinner and it was pretty much dead. We didn't think anything of it because it is an off time to eat. There is an Asian family there enjoying their meal, so we were happy to see that. The waitress wasn't happy to see us there at all. We looked at the menu and see that the family special has the same items as the early bird special. So we told her that we wanted the early bird special. OMG, I swear we must have offended this person. What a freaking attitude. You figure you would offer the best service when it is slow. Not one smile was offered between the waitress and the old lady, whom I assume is the owner. When the food came out it looked terrible. It looked like it came from the corner fast food Chinese take out place. Hell, I think the corner fast food Chinese is way better than this place. The hot tea wasn't even warm. I think they just left it sitting in the corner. The fried rice was absolutely nothing more than soy sauce and a beaten egg in it. Everything tasted bland and greasy. The crab rangoon was fried with warm oil because my two fingers were covered in oil. The eggroll is just as bad. I ordered a chicken plate. There was barely any chicken in it. The chicken pieces were so small, they were just a little bigger than a standard pencil eraser head. I think my whole plate had about 6-7 pieces of chicken and they chopped in water chestnuts the same size as the chicken and I think that was what they were trying to pass it off as chicken. I never in my life had ever experience food so bad. The $18.53 that I paid with tip, was robbery!! I think my money spent at McDonald's would be better. added 1//5/2013: Wahffe P: If you don't like my review, I don't care. Your opinion is worthless but your food is worse. LOL added 2/25/2013: WahffeP: I won't change my review of your restaurant. Apparently you must have paid the other people to give you a good review. There is no way that your establishment is gonna get more than 1 or 2 stars. The whole experience is bad. So do yourself a favor and stop contacting me.. added 3/4/2013: WahffleP: Apparently this person, who has an interest in Golden Lotus, doesn't understand plain English. Said person continues to harass me because I didn't like the food at the restaurant. I will continue to update about this, so the person will understand that this behavior will do nothing more than to drive customers away. WORK ON YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. OFFER BETTER SERVICE. Your food sucks, so maybe send grandma into retirement and hire someone from China who knows how to cook. Continuous harassment isn't going to change my review of your crappy food and crappy service. NO, I WILL NOT COME BACK EVEN IF YOU PAID ME.

I love this place so much, came here since I was a little girl with my parents. Dim sum here are amazing. Portion are smaller than most restaurants but it is still very good. Quality over quantity. I came to eat today with my boyfriend about 20 mins before dim sum ended, service was terrible. My boyfriend ordered sesame chicken and it literally came out within seconds, before my dim sum came out even though I ordered mine before his. Signs of the food being old and someone probably didn't want it earlier. Anyway, love this place, always come here but today's experience was terrible.

Decided to give this place a shot for dim sum after reading reviews here (plus it was close to our hotel) We sure wish we hadn't tried it. We had to order off a list but they had a picture menu in case you weren't familiar with the names. When the food came out, it was lukewarm at best. Flavor was "bleah". The fried taro balls had little to no meat. A serving has 3 of them and one consisted of barely any taro at all. The other 2 had a large clump of the flaky crispy stuff that is standard on these except they weren't flaky. It was like biting into a crispy ball of grease. Now I am not one to waste food at dim sum but I simply could not eat it. If you're in the mood for dim sum, head to Ming's or Lam's. They are further but well worth the drive.

I actually enjoy this place. They have a pretty good selection of Dim Sum and a la carte Chinese food (ask for Chinese menu). They don't have a cart service, but most of the Dim Sum here is pretty tasty compared to other Dim Sum locations in Orlando. Make sure to try the steam bean curd, stuff eggplant, and pastry bbk pork here. And order some bok-choy in garlic sauce (not in menu & good flavor). The congee, pots, and chicken feet aren't that good here. Haven't found a place that makes good congee. The service here is good and the staff are actually nice. Food comes out pretty quick and good descent amount (family style).

I went to this Chinese restaurant with my family (which is Chinese) because my parents had previously come for dim sum and my parents were discontent the Mexican food at Border Grill Fresh-Mex which I also thought was mediocre. Upon my first approach I thought it was closed because of the way the front was. It has these panels on the glass that make it look dark on the inside however the open sign was turned on. The restaurant ended up open and we ate there. My family ordered bok choi, the beef clay pot, and duck. The meals were quite good and the duck was fantastic. The bok choi tasted good, it had that taste of a good cooking with a wok. The beef clay pot was very nice and unlike other places' beef in the dish wasn't chewy at all. The duck was just flat out good in all ways, it wasn't fatty, it was fresh, quality of meat was good and it tasted like ham. It's a cool and good twist to duck especially people who normally eat bei jing or Cantonese styled duck. Overall this was a quality restaurant food wise, however the portions were small for the price. My parents also said the dim sum was impressive but expensive. I would definitely come back and refer this restaurant, if I could give it a four and a half stars I would.

Typical dim sum establishment, and I feel its one of the better ones in Orlando. If you never been to dim sum, its basically similar to tapas, but majority of everything is steamed. Steamed Shirmp Dumpings, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Steamed Shrimp Balls, Steam Sui Mai, you get the picture. I love getting their noodle dishes, its in chinese on the dim sum menu, but it has cucumbers, pork, and something similar to a black bean sauce. Its amazing and you must try it if you are a noodle fan. Another one is a snow cabbage with pork and noodle soup. Making me hungry as I type this review. Egg tarts are definitely a must order at dim sum always. Be sure to save it as your final ending! And if you are daring, Tripe is one dish I must always have as well! If you want to make it safe, their Beef Chow Fun is also delicious!

I went here a few weeks ago. I was looking for a dim sum place closer to home. This place doesn't look like much..a strip mall hole in the wall but the dim sum was very tasty and fresh. It looks like a little mom and pop place and it wasn't very busy but everyone else eating there was Asian so that's a great sign. If you want straight up, no frills, good dim sum..this is the spot for you. That's what I like, I don't need fancy, just clean, authentic, and delicious.

A bit out of the main drag of the touristy Orlando so this is a good thing. It does take a little while to actually get your dim sum food because the food comes from the back kitchen instead of from carts. A bit pricey too. Taste of the food was comparable to any other dim sum we've had. Will try Mings Bisto next time.

Small small place. I found out about this place from a local Chinese, the food are great. Not too far from the tourist area. The dim sum are cooked to order, so it is hot when it comes out. I will you there again if I ever visit Orlando area.
