After seeing the reviews on yelp I decided to give it a try. The house salad was excellent. I had the chicken parm and it was cooked to order and was very good. Service was excellent. If you want atmosphere go to a chain. If you want really good fresh food, this is a winner. 4+ stars.

We were looking for a nice, quiet Italian restaurant for dinner and happened upon Famos. It was beyond our expectations. The food was homemade and delicious. The service was superb. If I lived in Orlando, this would be my favorite place to eat. Loved it!

I work nearby and I'm always looking for new lunch spots. Being from Brooklyn I am always craving some good Italian food from a non chain restaurant. I have driven past many times and finally decided to give it a try today. A chicken parm sub or as I call "hero" is one of my favorites things!! I called and picked it up. My order was ready when I got there. The gentleman was friendly and best of all when I got back to my desk, it was delicious! Hit the spot. And a very good portion size for the money. Will definitely be back again to try more menu options.

In town for work and we wanted to eat at a restaurant that we don't have at home. Everything we ate was delish! Chicken Pram. Fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna and manicotti.

My wife and I had the craving for pasta and based on Yelp review we decided to check it out. Food = I ordered the chicken carbonara and it was delicious. It was creamy and pasta was fresh and al dente just the way I like it. My wife ordered the 4 cheese ravioli and that was delicious too. 5 stars. Service = the wait staff was friendly enough but they served me the wrong order. Additionally, even though the place was not busy, our order took more than 20 minutes. They need to work on service. 3 stars. Overall experience = Although it took longer to get our food it was worth the wait. 5 stars. Total score is 13 stars. Divided by 3 = 4.1 stars.

Great little restaurant. The food was outstanding. Staff was nice. But the food..... Wow. When we entered the place we thought maybe Yelp had led us astray. Nope, yelp was dead on. Highly recommend. Delicious.

We were looking for casual Italian and felt like we won the lottery with our decision to eat in rather than to go. These folks know what they are doing in the kitchen! And Simeone our server was both fun and effective. Five of us had different dishes and no one was disappointed. Chicken Liomone, lasagna and the veal special were all excellent. And a very good value if you don't mind eating in a strip mall restaurant next door to the pizza take out shop. We will return on our next trip to Orlando. Simeone enjoyed his work and made our experience memorable.

Went to this "little gem" on Saturday Sept. 19th for dinner with friends. We were all from out of town and looked this up on Yelp, and thought we'd try it. Got in, was seated, ordered 2 glasses of wine and one beer. Wine came, no beer. We asked for it and waited. We got bread, which was mediocre at best. We ordered, two veal piccata, one ravioli and sausage, and one sausage, broccoli and spinach dish. Still no beer. Asked again. Bread was gone and asked for more. Finally got the beer, but no bread. Finally got the bread, which was ALOT different that the first type - no garlic bread, no butter - but rather some sort of cranberry scones cut up to resemble bread. So, they bring dinner - and only 3 of the 4. We were missing one veal piccata. After the 3 of us were done eating, the 2nd veal finally came. We asked several times (at least 3) where the meal was. Answer, it's coming...........yeah, it did after the other 3 were done with dinner. The owner (i'm assuming) was not even overly concerned about it. I said, not good to have that happen - he says, oh, things happen. I said, not good for business, he never replied, never offered a free dessert, or to take it off the bill, NOTHING!!!!!!!!!! Who does that? We ever had ordered a pizza to go - and he never once offered a free glass of wine. NEVER go back there. BEWARE!!!

Shocking to see 5 stars for this place. Pizza was not good. Asked for mild wings and was given very spicy sauce...could go on but no point. Delivery forgot salad. Just not impressed and just treated as a tourist and Mgt. could careless. Will make sure with all my travels to the area now and future I will make sure to cross this place off. Just remember I told you so if you are not happy with service and or bad food.

Pretty good. Their mozzarella tastes good and authentic. Their meat sauce is pork free which was nice because I normally can't eat the meat sauces from restaurants because they always contain pork. My husband loved his bbq chicken pizza. My daughter had a child's spaghetti and salad and she enjoyed both. I had lasagna and salad which was good as well. They serve you with salad and garlic bread when you get entrees and the bread was average. Not too buttery or overly garlicky. I would give the restaurant another visit.

The food was good. They took too long, over 50 min just to bring the food. The kids menu says create your own pasta, then they charge extra for the sauce. Over price for an entree and no side salad.

When we pulled up I wanted to turn around and leave. It's a little hole in the wall in a strip mall but do yourself a favor and go in! The food is out of this world! We will definitely be back.

Delicious red gravy and full flavor Marsala. Sat outside and the ambiance was pleasant. Thanks Jerry for your attentive service.

Ditch the chain restaurants and get in here. Classic Italian food done right. Not olive garden re-heated paste. Good stuff at a reasonable price.

We were incredibly impressed with this restaurant; stopped on a whim and were really pleased with the food. The pizza was excellent and the pasta dishes that came out of the kitchen smelled incredible. Don't shy away from this place because of its location in a strip mall, you will be sorry to overlook it. We will be back for sure next time we are in Orlando.

The food was really good. They're still trying to figure out the service. Will go back.

Excellent food. We were a little apprehensive when the cab pulled up to a strip mall. My wife and I were thinking that good restaurants are not found in locations like this but to our surprise the food was fantastic.

Food was delicious, I was craving penne vodka and it hit the spot. Roger was the server, he was very friendly and did an excellent job. The restaurant is hidden away in a strip mall but don't let that deter you, the atmosphere was very nice inside.

Iffy appearance from the outside as it is located in a strip mall. We walked in at 6 pm and were the only ones there. Very skeptical. Ordered two glasses of Pinot Grigio and got two different brands (obvious difference in appearance) in water spotted glasses. Was really second guessing this place. Boy did they turn it around. Best bruschetta I've ever had and both our dishes were excellent. Server was kind and very attentive. Authentic Italian joint family owned for 15 years. Will definitely come back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
