I have eaten at El Potro at least a dozen times. It is a popular place for my favorite work pal and I to eat lunch. We have done the lunch buffet and ordered off the menu. While the buffet is great and all you can eat, ordering food off the menu is better. The food is freshly prepared and delicious. Occasionally the food on the buffet, especially the enchiladas can be a little dry. But that is only because they aren't busy and the food doesn't get turned over as quickly as it should. But other than that, the food is great. The buffet has a large selection with 3 different types of enchiladas, hard and soft tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, super yummy potatoes(so delicious!), rice, beans, and so much more. They table serve fresh tortilla chips and salsa. The salsa is very fresh, it is a mild salsa but has some slow building heat to it. I love it, my work pal thinks it is hot,but then she thinks everything is hot. We recently introduced others at work to El Potro, and all of us have been back since. Because I have only been to El Potro for Lunch, I can't say much about dinner, but if dinner is as good as lunch, I would be willing to drive in to Orlando for dinner. The prices are reasonable, The weekday lunch buffet is only around $8 and they have a daily special for around $6. I am guessing the $10.99 is a weekend price. It still is worth the price. The wait staff has always been friendly and the restaurant is always clean. If you are in the area visiting the theme park, make sure you visit El Potro for some great mexican food.

Great food, lives here. It's its home. Yummy yummy yummy. I always get the steak tacos. They're delicious. :)

Not too busy for a sat night around 7. Good service sizes and attentive staff. Food taste super authentic, they're heavy on cheese though. Also you can ask for things on the side for instance the wings and the buffalo sauce.... Ordered the toastquac nothing special just a tostada w guacamole kind of disappointing it sounded better than it looked. The michiladas are huge, and the meat quality for the beef and chicken taste fresh. The waitress said the fajita nachos (which are huge) come w guan and pico de gallo but she was wrong so I had to spruce them up myself with sides. Overall pretty good.

Service was good and food was okay. Ordered the chicken nuggets and fries for my kids and that was a burnt disaster. All of the chicken nuggets were burnt...I can't believe McDonalds has better chicken nuggets.

As soon as I walked into this place I got excited because of the decor, music, etc. This has to be authentic, I thought. I ordered the lunch #1 chile relleno & taco. Salsa, rice & beans were good. Huge disappointment when I got my tacos- hard shell with cheese. I asked for soft tortilla instead. Another disappointment - ground beef with lettuce! No, no, no! If you're Mexican you know that's a huge NO! If you come, make sure you communicate with your waiter.

I'm hoping that it was just this one night was a bad experience, because I've been told this place is amazing! We (three adults, one ten-year old) went for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Beautiful day so we sat outside. The place wasn't busy at all. However, the waitress seemed to forget about us three separate times, which had me going in to look for her. And the food order was wrong. The order being wrong was not enough to complain about, just disappointing. The family I was with love this place, but for my first visit, I sadly was not impressed. I wouldn't go back, except for my friends persuading me to give it another chance. Then I may be able to update and upgrade my review. We'll see.

I've visited this establishment a few times and am convinced that in comparison to other comparable Mexican eateries, this one is my fave. The service is consistently friendly and prompt, food delicious, and prices not too bad. I really enjoy the little outdoor patio for dining :)

Incredible. Came here on Sunday. $10.50 for the buffet (11am-2pm, M-F) ($2 extra on Sundays because of the inclusion of seafood). Very tasty food and terrific value. My gf was enamored with the all you can eat guac. Breakfast items like cheesy eggs, sausage & bacon abound. Make your own tacos, flan, plantains, shredded chicken, shrimp all and always are favorites. Tip: On Sunday they have 2 for 1 Sangria(2 for $6). It is very good and decently strong. Hurry up and make a trip to this Metrowest gem. You will not be disappointed. Great, attentive service start-to-finish too!!

$10.99 lunch buffet yes there is sufficient of a selection however the ground beef and steak taste so so bad they have an overly meaty flavor that made me gag! Definitely will not return, at least they have good chips and salsa, and the beans and rice was decent but now worth it if there's no meat to accompany them.

  • Gina C.

Dinner buffet is best of any other locations we have tried. Selection is great, fresh and even the shrimp is better than at many restaurants. Desserts and fruit complete the meal for a perfect end.

I love this place. I have now gone twice. First time for the buffet and I definitely recommend it. Great for families, singles, and couples,: is cheap and incredibly delicious. I usually expext buffetfood to be mediocre but everythng was wonderful. Margaritas are strong decently priced. Second time I went, the waiter recommended the Texas rice and the burrito grande. The Texas rice was awesome! Great price too for a rice dish including shrimp, steak, and chicken. The burrito was good and it most certainly was grande! Could feed a starving single or sharable :) Also, the staff is so nice. Horchata is great as well, add some rum in it!

It's hard to find good authentic Mexican food, but this place has the been the closest in comparison to some of other Mexican places I've been to in Orlando. The food is decent and the service is usually pretty excellent...very friendly and attentive...

  • Brenna P.

one word "Buffet" if you haven't done it yet, make it a priority. So cheap, so delicious so much fun. I like the chance to try little bits of Mexican dishes I may not have been brave enough to order a whole plate of. (The pork in green sauce is now my new favorite). They also have Mexican beer on tap and usually have a pitcher special. Be warned though, that the buffet isn't all the time. Be sure to call and ask.

This is a great Mexican spot! Spicy, fresh salsa and their chiles rellenos are some of the best in town. One of the best things about this place is their weekend buffet. All you can eat mexican/breakfast food. You can make your own taco and throw some bacon on it! Sold.

  • Paul G.

I like this location. The buffet has a larger selection than the Alafaya location, but isn't quite as flavorful. Still, I'm happy to come here when I want Mexican buffet.

  • Gabe M.

Service was really great here, as was the food! I'm a stickler about Mexican foods, and this place was good. I'm honestly torn between 3 and 4 stars. There wasn't anything that stood out as very unique, but I heard they have a dinner buffet. We stopped in for a late lunch and I ordered the Chicken Chipotle. If you're not into medium-to-hot dishes, stay away from this one. The chicken itself was marinated and seasoned well, besides having a generous pool of chipotle sauce (seemed as though they just dumped 2 cans of chipotle sauce and peppers into a processor, as there were seeds all throughout the sauce). I didn't mind the seeds but some people do. Nothing was disappointing, so I'll definitely come back to try more things.

We love El Potro! This place is your typical Mexican restaurant, but for what it is it is the best one we feel we've had since moving to the Orlando area. Food is terrific, prices are very reasonable on everything, service is very prompt and attentive. Food comes out quick after you order as most Mexican places do, or you can order off a buffet that they offer at times during the week for dinner and lunch.

  • Thomas J.

I have been here for couple of times. The food was good, service was not bad... So it was good overall experience and I will definitely recommend this place to my friends!

    (4)
  • Kris C.

The nachos we ordered we delicious and fresh! We did the buffet and although there was plenty of variety the meats were pretty dried out. If we come here again (which we may) I am ordering off the menu. I have a feeling it would be a different experience! Wait staff were friendly and helpful and prices were not bad.

ORLANDO ALERT: So I found this restaurant while hanging in Orlando yelping. It's in a strip mall. Get the heck over it...it's Florida and everything is in a strip mall. It's right off I-4. But I am here to tell you how fabulous this restaurant is: 1. Seriously authentic Mexican food served by a lovely attentive staff. 2. They have a buffet and a full service 4 page menu with specials. 3. If you are on vacation and trying to conserve money for other useless spending sprees, I say go for the 8.29 buffet....drink not included. My travel companion had four plates of food. Tacos, enchildas, flautas, taquitos and tamales! Multi choices of beans and rice. Guacamole....AYCE!!!! CAN I WITNESS TO THIS TREASURE!!! Idk what kind of area we are in...next to publix, walgreens and a smoke shop but today at noon the restaurant was home to three intoxicated Mexicans who were enjoying tomato and beer...and a lot of it. They were quiet despite being wobbling drunk. Still hands down, you won't leave hungry or broke!! Place is immaculately clean, including the bathrooms. Enjoy the pictures!

This is the best Mexican buffet I have ever been to, and my favorite Mexican restaurant in central Florida. The salsa is fresh, tangy, and delicious, the rice fluffy and seasoned to perfection, and the beans? They're a little bit of heaven! Between those staples of Mexican cuisine and the reasonable prices and great selection, this place is my first stop when I'm in town.

  • Brandi N.

Oh man I love this place! Great place for authentic Mexican food at a low price. So delicious and full of flavor. Tastes like you are at someone's house and their grandma is in the kitchen whipping up some amazing dishes. This location is quiet and not too busy. Perfect for a quick afternoon lunch with friends.

  • Jenna L.

I've been here for both dinner meal and for lunch buffet. I really was not impressed by their dinner. Our check came out to around $45 for two people and I didn't feel like I had food worth that money for dinner. However, their lunch buffet is pretty on point for close to $9. I am a huge fan of guacamole so I definitely had guacamole overload when I went there for lunch buffet.

  • Aras S.

This place has one of the best dinner buffets ever. The price is so reasonable and the food is great. I ate way too much it was that good. Have a light lunch if you plan on doing the buffet for dinner.

    (5)
  • Leslie S.

Not the best place. I know it's Chico De Mayo, but the server was slower than molasses and I only ordered water. The food on the buffet was extremely dry. The margaritas had no tequila in it. If you come here, have patience and order of the menu.

Buffet is awesome ans cheap only $10 all you can eat autentic mexican food... cant beat that. Also have a la carta menu

Very good food and service. I ordered steak fajitas and my wife only got tacos but it was better than anything we have in western pa. The service was quick and top notch. The waiter was every polite and understanding of our messy tornado of a toddler. Very glad we drove the 10 miles from our hotel to eat here.

Our favorite little Mexican spot in the area! Not fancy, but the food is always delicious (chile relleno and the queso fundido are my favorites). Service is always pretty good, and we make a point to go here when we are in the area.

My wife and I stopped by for a late lunch and we are super picky on Mexican as I grew up in Texas and we ate it all of time. This place is good, not great but very good. I would 100% return. The flavor was spot on and we ordered from the menu as I don't do Buffets at all. The cheese dip was plentiful and tasty, salsa very good and homemade, chips nice and crisp and the service was great. Did I mention the prices are fantastically low? If you are in the area you should try it. I so wish we had a place this good in Lakeland.

  • Patrick T.

Great Menu items. The service during lunch needs work. The buffet is good. Food tastes fresh but could use a bit more seasoning especially their sauces. Their hot wings are really good! Great drink specials. The real star is their menu. I've had just about everything on their menu and it's all excellent for Mexican/American food. Unfortunately their salsa is bland and chips are nothing special.

    (4)
  • Ashley S.

Love the queso and burritos!! I could eat those every day!! They always have good drink specials and great service. Even if you pick up take out, it's fresh and fast! I will definitely continue to eat here!

Yum! Nice change from the American "pig trough" buffets and uninspected imported Chinese chicken at the others. Nice variety of fresh meats and delicious desserts. Will be back next time in Orlando.

  • Anthony M.

I concur with other yelpers...seedy at first...even found a hair in salsa...but.. its good food. Had Verde enchiladas and wife had steak quesadillas...a bit better than average. Beer is cold and margaritas are good according to my wife. I will be there for a dinner buffet soon.

  • Cameron W.

First off, I tried the Mexican place across the street (agave azul) and it was so packed I couldn't even get in the door. El Porto was no wait and friendly greeters! Secondly, there are tons of food options to choose from and they're all decently priced! And they have a buffet with quite the selection! I had the supreme burrito and it is HUGE!!! That plus the chips they bring out will have you stuffed to the brim. If you leave hungry that's your fault! This place is great and I will forsure come here again! (The bathrooms were pretty clean too!)

  • Bill A.

Took a chance since we were visiting Orlando & didn't know where to go for Mexican food. I had enchiladas verses and Dottie had a chile relleno and enchilada dojo. Food was hit and tasty. And got to our table in about 10 minutes. Good service and salsas. I say yes to this place.

  • Roberto T.

A Mexican buffet eatery at a bargain price! It better than Taco Bell but not quite gourmet Mexican. I've bellied up for both lunch and dinner and have always left sassy-fied. The tamales are surprisingly authentic and just like mamita used to make. The flan is also not too bad at all. All of the typical selections are good and I have never left disappointed so far. Bring your appetite because their is plenty of food and no one is rushing you out the door. This location is a step up from the Winter Park location in my book. If Mexican buffet is what you want, hop on down to El Potro Restaurant!

    (4)
  • Eric M D.

This restaurant features an amazing Lunch Buffet, that is quick and great for working professionals and tourists in the area. With standard Americanized Tex-Mex the lunch buffet gives you the ability to sample their entire menu, and leave full and in need of a siesta! Good atmosphere, good food, and great price!

    (4)
  • Drew J.

Great value and food! Buffet is the best value with many fresh choices and a surprising variety. I highly recommend the lunch buffet. As a tourist,I loathe "touristy" places I was relieved to see locals eating there on their lunch breaks as well as carrying out. We enjoyed the balance of having a laid back and relaxed atmosphere and the privacy of high backed booths.I would definitely return to El Potro if I were to be in the area again!

My husband and I love Mexican food but never came close to having such an amazing experience that we have at El Porto. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We tried this restaurant while we came to Florida on vacation and food is exceptional. Best Mexican food we had so far. Definitely worth a visit :)

Good vegetarian options. The food is tasty and prices are very affordable!

El Potro sets itself apart from other Mexican restaurants in a couple ways. Its menu offers several unique options, including a burrito smothered in a queso blanco sauce (my personal favorite). Another unique factor about El Potro is the fact that they offer a buffet, and althought i've never tried it myself, it does look both appealing and fresh, and is frequented by many of the other customers. One of the things I find most attractive about El Potro is that, although it's not a hole in the wall-authentic Mexican restaurant it's also not as Americanized as other places, and the staff are friendly and will remember you, even if you've only been a few times. Between the great food, lively atmosphere, and friendly staff, I give this restaurant an 'A', and will continue going back!

Fresh Mexican food. I'll be back and will tell friends about it! Glad to have found this restaurant for my Mexican food cravings!

The service is OK. The chips were not as fresh as I'm used to but the food was really good and very generous portions. Good mexican restaurant and traditional.

Good price for the buffet. Food wasn't the most fresh but still tasted good. Grilled shrimp and mushroom were amazing. Salsa and Queso were really good. Waiters were super nice. Great dining experience would go back there again.

We enjoyed this place very much! My husband has been searching for tacos he used to get in Atlanta and he found some pretty darn close here at El Potro! I have a feeling he will be frequenting this place a lot! We did not try the buffet but it looks yummy!

Stopped by for lunch....the service and food was very good. The shredded beef was very good and the margarita was delicious. A great place to swing in for a quick lunch or dinner. Next time I'll have to try the cheese dip....

I was attracted by the the dinner buffet, as many are. I thought it was nice to have so many choices to eat, but I felt the overall quality of the food was mediocre. I tried a bit of everything, and wasn't overly impressed with the taste. The fried foods were overdone and a bit heavy, the meats were dry despite sitting in watery sauces, and the condiments were a bit past fresh. Even still, the buffet delivered where it counted, with a lot of different foods and plenty of them. Nothing we tried was bad or below average for an Americanized Mexican restaurant, but none of the dishes really stood out.

  • Stephanie W.

I'm always in search of new Mexican restaurants I've never tried. This one was close to home, so I took a friend and we gave it a shot. I would rate it more of a 2.5 stars. As soon as we walked up and saw the sign for the buffet for $10.99, we both laughed. I'm not used to seeing a Mexican buffet. We were offered the menu or the buffet. I took a look at the buffet even though I wasn't hungry enough to eat much. The waitress walked over with us and told us what was offered. Neither of us decided on it because it looked like it had been sitting for a while. I don't eat seafood, but I would have been hesitant about eating the shrimp since nothing looked touched for a while. I could be wrong, but in the hour we were there, I only saw one customer actually eat from there. I ordered a combo plate. The taco shells were different than most places. They were almost flaky which was a nice change. Sadly, the food was nothing spectacular. I probably will not go back again. The reason I bumped it up to 3 stars was because the service was excellent. Both servers we dealt with were extremely nice and helpful.

  • Jason Z.

This is one of my favorite spots to grab a quick and somewhat healthy meal. Obviously to do this the 3 taco appetizers are the way to go. The ones made with either chicken, pork, or steak on small corn tortillas. Hell yes!

Thanks fellow Yelpers for another wise choice! We were in Orlando for a weekend getaway, and wanted a bite of something scrumptious - along with a few cocktails. The reviews were good for this spot so we cruised in. The margaritas were stiff, and delicious. We split a bean and cheese burrito and a bean and cheese quesadilla, and both were totally satisfying. I was also a fan of their guac. The inside is super low-key. The other Mexican joint I tried in O definitely had more atmosphere, but this place had everything else going for it. Cheap food, good drinks, decent service (he could have been a little more attentive). It was a little difficult to find, even with GPS. It's tucked away in the corner of a shopping center (pretty vague, considering there are a million and one shopping centers in good old Orlando), but we tracked it down eventually. I'd go back when in town and looking to get stuffed.

  • Ruby A.

This is my second favorite Mexican joint in Orlando. They get 5 stars for their tacos, which are delicious and loaded with cheese. Don't eat the buffet. It's not very good. Just stick to the menu items. The wait staff is always on the ball and very nice.

We are only visiting the area, but if we lived here, this would clearly be a go-to place! Very reasonable prices and the food was delicious. There are 5 in our party and this was the only place we've eaten all week that all 5 plates were completely empty! We really enjoyed the buffet! Yummy!

El Potro Mexican Restaurant has made its home where breakfast-brunch place, Le Peep, used to be on the corner of Kirkman Road and Conroy Road. They offer hearty, homestyle Mexican at affordable prices. The buffet is the best value, and everything on the long, L-shaped table is fabulous! My favorite thing to do so far is to build a near impossible tower of delicious food on top of a large, fresh and flaky taco shell cup. There's a good variety of tender roast ham, chicken, and meats on the buffet, and the fresh pico de gallo is my top favorite from the sauce section. Fresh chips and spicy salsa are also delivered to every table regardless if you're eating from the buffet or ordering from the menu. If my visit is a menu kind of night, I'd order the Guadalajara Special again and again. If you can imagine a sampling of every well-known Mexican restaurant staple, it's on the Guadalajara Special. Think mixed grill with plenty of extras thrown in, but beware! There's enough food on that plate for two adults, although left-overs from El Potro are tasty anyway. Win-win! Every time I see another sizzling plate presented to a nearby table with a flourish, I can't wait to come back to try more of the house specials. At least I know a carafe of sangria will be a staple at my table no matter what. The sangria can be ordered by the glass or carafe, and is served with juicy chunks of fruit and a nice zing depending on the night. The service at El Potro is always kind and with a smile, but slow due to the sheer volume of business on peak nights. Good for El Potro but unfortunate for guests who visit during Friday and Saturday nights. The rich food aroma will also stick to whatever your wearing if you sit inside, so if you're planning on a night out on the town afterwards, ask to be seated outside. I can't wait to revisit El Potro and try something new off the menu!

Great Mexican restaurant right in the Kirkman area. Got to go back in October of last year and all the food I had was fantastic. The nachos were great and really fully loaded, the chips and salsa were complimentary and not stale, very fresh, and their cheese quesadillas were pretty damn good. I'd love to come back and do the buffet, I've heard great things about it. The drinks are affordable and the staff is very nice, great service. Awesome spot for a quick lunch or dinner.

This place is phenomenal. We found it purely by chance - weary from a day at Islands of Adventure, me, my fiancée, and two friends of ours chanced upon El Potro while looking for something A) Mexican and B) Nearby. We had no idea we were also going to stumble onto the additional categories of C) Delicious and D) Cheap. El Potro is everything a Mexican restaurant should be. It's fast. There's free chips and salsa galore. The menu is extensive and everything on it will rock your socks off if you have even the barest liking of this sort of cuisine. Oh, and the staff is courteous, friendly, and warm. Basically, when you come here, expect to spend less than $20 for two people and eat enormous portions of fantastic food. Oh, and there's a buffet, too, in case you weren't impressed enough. A Mexican buffet! Crazy. Also, though it might drive your bill up a little, their sangria is literally the best I've ever had. And can somebody please tell me what kind of cheese they use? It's creamy, savory, salty, and incredible. In fact, I'm craving it right now. I could go on, but you get the idea. Go here. Now.

Small restaurant, but I couldn't find one bad item on the buffet. Buffet: $10.99 adults $5.99 kids The free tortilla chips are warm, good and not oily. I had my first freshly made hard taco shells at El Potro (The Stallion). The taco shells were flaky, firm, but still flexible and won't crumble apart like the store bought taco shells. All of the food was hot and fresh. Ground beef was not greasy. Service was good. Everything was great. This is a great place in Orlando for visitors such as myself.

When it comes to Tex-Mex in central Florida . . . This is as good as it gets! (And THAT is a good thing!) As a relocated Texan, I've never found another eatery in the area to to even come close to El Potro in the realm of authentic Tex-Mex just like "back home"! Nothing overly fancy, just good eats at a fair price and a great service staff to make an enjoyable meal at anytime of the day. Chips & salsa - Winner! Tacos - Winner! Rice & beans - The REAL deal! (Not so at most Tex-Mex places here.) Chile Rellenos - Perfect! Guacamole - Chunky & tasty! Enchiladas - Not bad, but would prefer chili topping instead of a thin ranchera sauce. Fajitas - Beef could be more cooked & thus more tender, but still tasty! Staff - The way service SHOULD be everywhere - GREAT! Buffet - Looks good - Never done it, prefer to be seated and order what I want, usually at a lower price (& more food portions than one should eat.) Overall - Good stuff! When you have a hankerin' for good Tex-Mex do yourself a favor and stop by for a "fix" you won't regret!

The restaurant has a great buffet or if your like me I order form the menu. The food has been consistently good each time my wife and I have eaten at this location. The service is friendly and accommodating. If your on this side of town do your self a favor and check out El Potro. Enjoy!

This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Orlando. The lunch entrees are portioned well for a great price and the dinner buffet is delicious (both shrimp options are great but the coconut shrimp is SO good!). The chips definitely leave something to be desired (I think they're out of a bag.. def don't taste fresh) and they say they charge for the second basket of chips.. I don't know for sure because I make sure I don't ask for more. All in all, there is no better Mexican restaurant in Orlando! Oh, and go in the evening and you might get the opportunity to be serenaded!

Is this my favorite Mexican restaurant? No, but I go here enough you'd think that. The food is always tasty and the service is top-notch, but its not something I ever crave. I will say one thing though, they have the best pork tenderloins. I prefer mine in the tacos with lots of cilantro, but you can get in in the buffet as well. Good food for the price :)

Good food! We were just looking for anything in Orlando that wasn't a chain restaurant, and were pleasantly surprised when we came upon this place.

Gave this place another try and things have improved from my last visit a couple of years back. Food was great and staff were nice. The buffet still bugs me how dried up the good looks so I stuck to the menu options so I would know my food is fresh.

We go frequently on Sundays for their buffet. Everything is freshly made and delicious. I usually go nuts on home made tamales and ceviche, roast pork, enchiladas. All your favorites are there and done well. Combine that with some really kick butt margaritas and a warm caring staff and you have a restaurant that is a great value in all respects.

After a long day at Universal, the thought of more theme restaurant food was sickening. Found this place thanks to yelp just minutes away, and was treated to delicious, cheap Mexican. Great service, and we ate till we were stuffed for less than it cost us to park at the theme park. They were open till 11pm on Saturday night, which was great as well.

This is a great spot for lunch. It's rarely too busy to find a seat and the food is excellent. I recommend getting the buffet since it has virtually every kind of standard Mexican food, including desserts, available. There's also a wide variety of items on the menu for custom order as well.

My family and I are frequent customers of El Potro. We have eaten there at least a dozen times. The staff is extremely friendly. We have two small children, and they are always very accommodating to them. Is this the best Mexican food I've ever had? Probably not, but I think it's very good for the price. And the drinks are priced well too. I've always been very pleased with the food, and more than pleased with the service. If you want to have a casual, affordable Mexican meal at a sit-down restaurant or a stress-free night out with the family, then I highly recommend El Potro.

Remember the decaying Le Peep Cafe? Well the Mexicans took over spiced up the whole place and on Mondays and Tuesdays you can get 2 for 1 margaritas. It looked like Chef Ramsay came and did a remodeling a la kitchen nightmare the place looks way better than it used to be serving breakfast skillets for brunch. The buffet it's good if you are just coming from fasting during ramadan or something; Otherwise just get the cheaper combo meals that will satisfy your cravings. All this place needs is mariachis to be cuatro estrellas. Arriba, Arriba!!.

I love this place. Great value. For decent Mexican food you cannot beat the buffet. Sunday brunch is my favorite. They have eggs, bacon, French toast, then all the regular Mexican Favs . They even have guacamole and real caso cheese on the buffet

It's convient to us yes but highly disappointed the quesadilla was soggy and it tasted like they used white American cheese in it.

Me and my boyfriend went here when we were visiting Universal, and the food was amazing. Excellent service and the chicken fajitas were great. Please bring El Potro to Miami!!!

not bad, but if this is the best mexican orlando has to offer, we miamians need to give orlando some of our awesome 8th st spots. the buffet was a good deal but when im on vacation, buffets are only ok for breakfast. (unless your in vegas, but this place is not exactly offering a vegas-style lunch buffet.)

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
