1st off, you can not expect anything fancy from Del Taco ... If you go in with that mind set, you will not be disappoonted. Got the crunchy fish taco, steak Asda, and just a basic hard taco. The fish and steak were better, the basic taco lacked something but not too sure what overall not a bad place for a quick, good, cheap bite to eat.

This restaurant offers a mixture of Tacos, Nachos, French Fries, and Burgers. The service is quick, food is fresh, and the atmosphere is some of the best in fast food resturants. Try a Macho Taco at least once ;)

Very good food, however I really didn't like the service. I was the only one in the restaurant but I still had to wait ten minutes on a taco. If you can look past waiting then I recommend at least trying it because it is ten times better than Taco Bell. However, I did have to stay on the toilet after everything was said and done.

OMG~ Finally a Del Taco in Orlando near my area. I was actually pretty excited!!! I always get the chicken soft Taco, the secret sauce is super Yummi~ I give it a 4 stars. But I have to give a -1 star for their services. I finally decided to not return to Del Taco again (this location). The staffs are super rude. They don't know what they are doing. The staffs are very unsanitized, they don't wear glove when making tacos and lay the taco on the counter with the wrapper on the bottom. GROSS!!! I went there for the Chicken Soft Taco Thur (3 for $2.49) , BUT they limited three tacos (not orders) per order. We can only order three taco at that price regardless of how many people we have in the car. This is crazy, I had ordered this deal before and never had the problem. If you don't want to honor the deal, then do not offer it!!!!The manager was super rude, and all he did was point at the window poster that says : three chicken soft taco for $2.49, and he walked away before I can even open my mouth!!! I CAN READ TOO, you do not have to embarrassed me in front of my friends and the staffs there. For that reason, I will never return to this location again!!!!!

I'm a fan!!! I was heading up to Orlando and I found out that Del Taco was in the area. As a native Southern Californian (who loves Del Taco), I was ecstatic. (Okay, perhaps I shouldn't get so happy over fast food, but hey, it reminded me of home!) I was not disappointed. This place was clean, the employees were SO friendly, and the food was just as I remembered it! (For the record, I'll take two half-pound red burritos, a churro and a drink, please!) In my two day trip to Orlando, I came here twice. I wish Del Taco was in South Florida!

Del taco is one of the few things i miss from living in california. The del scorcho sauce is amazing, and it beats taco bell hands down.

A much needed alternative to Taco Bell. I'm not gonna lie..I felt pretty overwhelmed when I first looked at the menu for the first time, and I felt just as overwhelmed the second time going. Everything looks good (to me at least) and everything I tried tasted just as good. I ordered the Two Macho Taco's..and oh boy, Macho? Yes, Macho. Those tacos are no joke. If Del Taco gave the option for you to choose from a 6-inch sub or a footlong sub like Subway does, then a regular taco would be the 6-inch and the Macho Taco would be the footlong. No joke! Haha. I got a kick out of their "sizes" as they are Small, Medium and Macho. Yes, Macho. Haha. One of the things that totally caught me off guard is that when you order a meal, you get a side a french fries. Normally I'm quick to connect things, but I fail to see how tacos and french fries go together. I mean, I don't have a problem getting french fries, but I see it as more of a side for burger joints.

I love Del Taco but this location is terrible. There hasn't been one time in the 3 times I tried to go here that I've waited 20 minutes in the DRIVE-THRU. You might think, "Oh she was probably behind 5 cars." No. I was the only one. Each time I think that they are making my food fresh and that's why it's taking long, right? No.. It's ice cold. So what the heck are you doing back there. I always see at least 7 employees in the back. The last time I went I stayed at the ordering box for 7 mins with no response so I drove up. The chick was ignoring me, texting on her phone, and furthering ignoring everybody else that drove up to the box. It's so disappointing cause it's inexpensive, and good.

To be honest, I am not sure what all the hype is about this place. My girlfriend and room mate are both from California and love this place. So, me being from Maryland, I'm unfamiliar with the brand. We went in there one night after we were playing laser tag, I purchased a couple quesadillas and some fries. Which I thought could be a fun combination. After all, when do you see those items together on a menu. We took all of our food home. Perhaps it was the twenty minute drive; but by the time we started digging in, the cheese had started to melt beyond oozing. The taste was ok, nothing to write home about. I think the next time I go, I will just purchase fries, which was the highlight of my meal.

When a burrito is 75 cents, it can taste like goat shit and that should be ok. The great thing about Del Taco is that, though 75 cents, the burritos taste OK, even good. I really do miss having a Del Taco on every intersection, from the days when I lived in California. This is one of the only ones I've found in Florida. With prices this low, I hope they stay in business so that we can all get the cholesterol we demand.

There is not much to say, this is a quick place to grab lunch or dinner or just a snack. If I had to compare it, it would be similar to Taco Bell but MUCH better. They offer lots of different options but I have only had the tacos. They also serve breakfast but again I have not tried it. The tacos are really good and cheap. I really like that the cheese is like actual cheese and the meat is "real" meat. (Im comparing to Taco Bell where everything seems fake). The line moves pretty quick and I have never really had to wait long to get my food. The employees are usually very nice and polite. I beleive that they originate in California, so there is only this one, I beleive in Orlando. It is really close to major tourist areas including Universal Orlando and the outlet mall. If you are looking for something cheap but good and good quality food for less, then this is a great place to go. I ran across this once, I beleive you have to spend a certain amount like 5 dollars to use your card. I wanted only 1 taco as a snack and was not able to use so I had to order more to make the bill higher to use my card. That would be my only negative.

Tacos. Burritos. Vel Tino Jr. Happiness. It surprises me when a fast food restaurant can satisfy both my craving for a good meal and my craving for interaction with kind people. This Del Taco rocks. I was just getting back from Orlando Studios feeling absolutely famished when I stumbled across this gem. Vel Tino Jr was my cashier and he made my experience so much better. Providing me with suggestions (my taste buds love the dollar menu burritos and chili cheese chips), information (24 hour dining area and everything made to order), and smiles (he made it a priority to talk with me while I was ordering as well as when I picked up my order). I would highly suggest coming to this Del Taco. From the clean and pristine tables to the hot and fresh food, seriously--you can't go wrong. TIPS & TRICKS: * Cheap tacos every Tuesday and Thursday--and by cheap I mean the price, NOT the quality. * Try the $1 churros, the cheesecake bites, and cookies. Winner winner. * The fish tacos are killer. Try it with some guacamole and make sure you use the slice of lime to top it off.

I visited this spot while on vacation. The service wasn't great. The cashier wasn't helpful when I was ordering. The taco salad comes with different meat choices and she didn't let me know so we got stuck with ground beef. I also ordered the macho nachos and the steak wasn't that good. The rest was ok.

Taco, taco and and burger with fries? Why do you call yourself Del Taco. But served fries part of your meal. I guess to please the non-taco eater. Please keep to the script. Had the soft taco meal. Don't know what kind of meat was in it. And it came with fries....

Say what you will about Del Taco, but I think it kicks Taco Bell's ass. You get much more food for your money, and I feel like the ingredients are much more quality and fresh. First time I ever had a Del Taco wasn't Las Vegas many years ago, so when a couple of new locations came to Central Florida recently I was looking forward to it. I'm nowhere near the University of Central Florida location; however, the one on I-Drive is not too far from my place of business so I've bounced over there for lunch a couple times (although the exact location kinda stinks). I keep it pretty simple as far as what I order: chicken and bean burritos. Usually three but they're so large I have no doubt two would suffice. Perhaps I'll be a little adventurous on my next visit and order something new. All in all I'm a big supporter of Del Taco and happy to have them in the Orlando area now.

Vel Tino Jr is the man!! Best cashier at Del Taco. This location is open 24 hours and he's here til 2am. Swing in and say hello, you won't be disappointed! We had the most delicious fish tacos and the best part is, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg (or a fin) haha! After we ate 2 fish tacos, we went back for another satisfying round of the same. Be sure to get a churro for $1.00. They are 3.50 at Universal Studios. Be sure to grab a cookie or 3! We are hitting up this del Taco again on this vacation! Yummy yummy yummy ;)

Not only is every single thing made to order, it is fresh and healthy! I'm all about the healthy options and all about avoiding fast food. They've taken "fast food" to a whole new level of awesome! It really isn't fast food but fresh food. I don't mind waiting for them to make my meal because I know it hasn't been sitting all day in a container or freezer but made just for me. The staff goes above and beyond. They are just so sweet and nice. I love this place and my family does too.

Nothing special about del taco in my eyes. I paid $4 for fish tacos and had a couple pinky sized pieces of fish in my meal. They'll overcompensate for the lack of protein by giving you more lettuce and corn tortilla. The value here is obviously lacking. Only reason I stopped by was because other food options in the area were either over-priced or closed. Would I have del taco again? Maybe if I was stranded on an island and deal taco was my only option

Sit down, we need to have a talk. I feel you are now old enough now to understand what I'm about to tell you. Its perfectly natural to feel embarrassed or nervous. This is a judgement-free zone. I want to talk to you about intimacy. I want to talk about the ecstacy of the double beef classic taco sliding down your throat. I want to talk about the sweet playful kiss of a warm churro on your lips. These are things you will experience. You will be intrigued and aroused by these temptations and you will indulge over and over. This is life.

It used to be that I could only get crinkle fries with my burrito on the west coast. No longer!! If you're looking for a cheap but tasty taco or burrito, it's tough to beat Del Taco! Not in the mood for Mexican? That's ok! You can get a burger, seafood, a milkshake or even a breakfast combo 24 hours a day! Also, you've got to try the Caramel Cheesecake bites. SO. GOOD!

  • Michael K.

Who knew fries with your taco or burritos would be a good combo. Oh but, it is. They even have burgers for the ones that don't want to go to the south of the border. The food fresh and no where as greasy or goes through you as fast as Taco Hell does. You won't be waiting long and if there is a little wait it would be worth it. Only wish there where more of them down here. So YUMMY!!!!

Awesome experience . Nuff said this is the first time I went to del taco and I came from California (sad I know) you get your basic burrito and taco like taco bell but I can honestly say it's definitely better than taco bell , I got 2 tacos meal with a churro and fries, fries came out super hot and crispy so it was made fresh and tacos had more flavor than taco bell in my opinion and when I left the drive thru and about to leave to go on the road the manager quickly ran out the restaurant to give me my churro cause he forgot to give it too me with my order and he was really nice and polite . Really all around solid place to eat . Great food. Great service.

When I was younger I worked in Las Vegas and was on a strict budget. I used to eat Del Taco at least 3 times a week. So when my family and I wete on vacation in Orlando and saw a Del Taco I couldn't wait to eat there. It was as good or better than I remembered it. The gentleman who took care of us through the drive through was very patient and helpful since it took us a few minutes to study the menu. The Crunchtada off their dollar menu was insane, best tostada I have ever had. I wish we had a Del Taco in South Florida, I eat Taco Bell every once in a while but it's not nearly as good.

Del Taco one-upped Taco Bell. I'm not a big fan of the Bell (which I can never admit to my sister-in-law superfan) but I have had a few of their things over the years. One thing my transplant of a husband has missed from his old life in SoCal was the Del Taco. When he heard there were a couple in Orlando (the vortex of restaurant chains, as he calls it) he set out to see if there was one on our usual path of travel. Lucky for him, there was. On our way home from a day at the park we stopped for an early dinner and he was in his happy place. DT has an 8-layer Veggie Burrito (one up from TB's 7-layer), so that's what I decided to go with. It wasn't massive like the burritos you can get at Moe's, but it was filling. Surprisingly - for a fast food TACO place - the crinkle cut french fries were delicious. That superfan SIL I mentioned will be in love: burritos and crinkle fries all in one place is her version of fast food nirvana. I can appreciate where the other Yelpers are complaining about the service. While we didn't have any particular problems with any of the staff, it was a little on the slow slide for a pretty empty restaurant at a non-busy time.

I have stayed away from taco fast food places after a bad experience at Taco Bell but after reading reviews of Del Taco and a quick look at the menu (they have grilled chicken) I decided to give it a try. This location is open 24hrs and It's pretty empty during the day. The menu is fairly extensive from tacos, to burritos, quesadillas, churros, fries, salads, burgers and there is also a breakfast menu. I tried the classic grilled chicken burrito....simple but tasty, specially when you add some of their sauces. I will make my way back soon to try the beef tacos.

I'm from St. Louis and all the Del Taco's went out of business and I'm still seeking therapy over it. I went to this DT 3 times in a week when I was in Orlando. It's Del Taco...It's THE best food in the entire U.S. The place and the food is top notch. 5 stars all the way. Anyone who gives this less that 5 stars should be deported to HELL.

So, I've only had one trip to Del Taco, but, I was quite surprised with the service, the food, and the value. I ordered the jacked up tostada which was pretty tasty, but, the best part, the crunchy beef taco. I had the opportunity to try the grilled chicken soft taco sans the "special sauce" which was good as well. For dessert, the hubs ordered a churro and I ordered the caramel cheesecake bites, which were very similar to an eggroll. Overall, for $20 we left full and we weren't disappointed - they have definitely swayed me away from the bell.

So, it's Saturday night at 12:30am (which is technically Sunday morning) and me and some friends had a couple drinks, went go-carting and then wanted Del Taco, because Del Taco rules. We wanted to go in to eat but the door was locked despite the time sheet on the door saying the dining room would be open until 3am (so, maybe that means they're open late on Thursday and Friday nights instead of Friday and Saturday nights, but that wouldn't make sense, right?). I give it two stars because Del Taco is awesome but they should at least honor their stated hours. When you can get one, get the crunchy beef taco. It puts Taco Bell's to shame. Also, dip the fries in the mild sauce, it's amazing.

How is it possible that people actually like DT? I got a couple of chicken soft tacos, which had more chicken fat than meat in them, and were ultimately inedible. Just nasty.

California style fast food. Great flavor great service. A little high on the price end, but you get what you pay for compared to the other taco place with a drive through!

  • Stephanie W.

I said I would go back and I did. They have improved greatly since opening day. The drive thru was as quick as any other place and they remember napkins this time. The only thing they did get was that I asked for a side of sour cream. I wasn't charged for it, so I'm thinking they just didn't hear me order it. Oh well. The taco shells were crisper this time, but still slightly soggy by the time I got them home. (I only live 5 minutes away). Maybe I should eat in the next time. And if you like hot, get the Del Inferno hot sauce! Much hotter than Taco Bell's sauces.

  • Mike W.

I'd always heard of Del Taco when I lived in California, but never tried one because I knew it was a chain and in California, you simply have plenty of non-chain options around. However, being in Orlando in the middle of the night and about to drive back to Gainesville, my friend and I were hungry and this seemed a better choice than McD's and it in fact was. The restaurant is a pretty typical fast food type place, but the staff is friendly, it was fairly busy, and my Baja shrimp tacos were pretty good. Certainly, I like it better than Taco Bell and the seletion of fish and shrimp Baja-style tacos is a nice addition to the menu. The churros were especially good for a fast food place. I'd certainly go back.

    (3)
  • Eve D.

We usually get the fish tacos. Two soft corn tortillas with shredded cabbage, lime, and a piece of beer battered fish. Small and satisfying! We always make a point of hitting Del Taco at least once while we're in Orlando (or anywhere we go that has a Del Taco nearby).

    (4)
  • Cassie B.

I HATE Taco bell, but I enjoy tacos very much. Upon arriving in Orlando I was super excited to see a Del Taco right near our hotel. Fast tacos that could possibly be yummy?! And they were! Luckily they had just brought their crispy shrimp taco back, and that was good full of shrimp and flavor. Their fish taco was also great, nice and crispy and light. The 2nd time we went that week, the DT cashier said they would need a little time to make the fish fresh, and they'd bring our order right out. She brought the order out, with napkins and tons of sauce "just in case!" Sadly, their are no Del Tacos up in New England....sigh

Service is pretty slow here, I guess that comes with being on I-drive. foods awesome, if you get what you ordered. They send out coupons as well which are pretty good. if you're staying in the area and need a hangover cure, this spot is the place.

Two words - DOG FOOD. It might be good if you're really drunk and just need some fast food....but with my experience, I will never go there again. I ordered the most simple thing and they got it wrong. Our food was cold and didn't even look cooked. I brought it up for them to fix, and I was given the biggest attitude. I was very respectful and the lady was very unprofessional. Then, they got my order wrong AGAIN. It looked like DOG FOOD and tasted even worse. Go to Taco Bell if you want some good tacos/burritos.

Unfortunately there is no 0 stars. Waited 25 minutes on a Saturday night to get 3 tacos and yet there were more people behind the counter working than in front of it. The workers here suck. Including the night time manager whom we complained to and seemed uninterested in our concern.

There seemed to be some buzz about Del Taco so I decided to swing through today. I wish I had something exciting to say about it. I was really wishing its menu and service would be highly differentiated from Taco Bell. Unfortunately, in my opinion, it is pretty much the same ol' same ol'. I ordered a number 12, which was a chicken soft taco and spicy chicken burrito combo. The combo came with a small fry and a small drink. This leads us to the first "new" feature of Del Taco: they serve french fries. However, the fries were completely forgettable, so no fun there. The rest of the food was fine--no better or no worse than Taco Bell. The chicken burrito had beans in it unlike Taco Bell's, but I think it is kind of sad that I even know that. The only other notable thing I saw is that Del Taco has a breakfast menu. I'll have to stop by again sometime in the morning. Perhaps having one of their several breakfast burritos will make me appreciate them more than the Taco Bell down the street. Although, to be perfectly honest, I'm still in a very satisfying food relationship with the fried chicken breakfast burrito from Chick-fil-a.

Food is great. Service is spotty: sometimes they are super courteous & lightning quick, sometimes they are too busy to notice you & slow to produce your order. Either way, as long as the food tastes good, you win. Del Taco is 20X better than any Taco Bell any day!

Needed a quick lunch stop near my office and Del Taco offered itself up. Good drive thru experience - quick, friendly and got me on my way. From order to departure I was in line less than 5 minutes (that includes waiting for the 2 cars in front of me). Quality of the food was on par wtih Taco Bell. The Chicken Soft Tacos were good - I do like their spicy sauce better. I ordered the combo and recieved french fries as a side. Really? I did not realize that French Fries were a traditional side, but at least they were crispy. If you need a quick taco fix, this is a reasonable option.

My friends raved about this place, but I found the food mediocre and the service absolutely terrible! It took too long to get my food, with little other customers there. After getting my order wrong they still took forever to correct. They were out of all sauces except the hottest. I would not recommend eating here.

I love Del Taco!! The Spicy Jack Quesadilla is awesome and even better with chicken and I also love the Burritos with green sauce and my wife loves them with red! The burritos have plenty of cheese! Every thing is great! Sodas are huge!

I LOVE Americanized Mexican Food. I do not like authentic Mexican food. Therefore, I LOVE Taco Bell, Game Day Nachos and frozen burritos. Del Taco is beyond a doubt a great step above Taco Bell as far as quality of food, and their prices aren't much different if at all. We hit the drive through at like 2 in the morning, the service was fast, and the taco fresh. They are open 24/7.. though I'm not sure who eats tacos at 7am.. But I'm sold!

My boyfriend stopped here and bought us some tacos for dinner. He bought The Spicy Chicken, The Fish Taco, and The Beef Burrito. I can say that the Fish taco is the closest thing you'll find that is the same as in San Diego, Ca other than it is fried but same ingredients. As for their Spicy Chicken it was mostly a bean burrito with a hint of flavor, not sure of the beef burrito boyfriend ate that he stated he liked it and better than taco bell. I say though I enjoy taco bell better, after I change the meat to chicken and I still love the nacho bell grande. I say try it out for yourselves and see what you think. The shells were soggy for us too. Good for Late Night after bar eating.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
