I had the opportunity to try Darbar at the beginning of my trip to Orlando. We order Chicken Tikka Masala, Samosas (Appetizer) and Lamb Vindaloo. I would give the service 5 stars but the food as 3.5 Stars - The food was OK, I have had better. However the wait staff who were not Indian were amazing - which is hard to find. Please note that this is not an Indian Restaurant as it seems like it is being managed by some middle eastern folks. Enjoy the food!

The service and food at this place is excellent. The décor is nice and they play Indian pop music. I am astonished after reading reviews that have complained about the portion size. I have been here a few times and I have never been able to finish my meal. I always leave full and with a take out box for my left overs.

Definitely a rip off. If you want good food but aren't terribly hungry then this is the place for you! Came here for dinner while on a family trip in Orlando. We chose this place because the family was craving Indian food and it was only half a mile from our hotel. This restaurant is located next to a Marriott Hotel in a small shopping strip mall, so there is plenty of parking. Ambiance: Fairly laid back, casual restaurant. Definitely great to go to after visiting the parks all day as this is not a dressy place. The restaurant was clean, well air conditioned, and empty as we came around 9:30pm on a weekday night. Service: Very attentive waitstaff. Our drinks were constantly refilled without asking. The waiter was constantly present but not overbearing. Food came out fairly quickly. Staff could be a bit pompous but I'll explain more about that later.. Food: Pretty good food- I ordered the Chicken Kada Masala spicy and it was spicy but not up to par with the spice level I expected- still good nonetheless with PLENTY of gravy. My husband got the Gobi Manchuriam which was really good- I definitely recommend this dish if you like cauliflower. We also shared Palak Paneer with the table which was just meh...no real flavor to this dish. The naan was fresh and hot and perfect for dipping in the endless amount of gravy we had for each dish. Price: Looking at the menu, the prices seemed decent for the area; it's about $16 for an entree. Unfortunately the portions for each dish here included only about 4-5 small pieces of meat or vegetable. Definitely not good for sharing even for a family of two. Someone at our table happened to ask nicely, without any rudeness or sarcasm, why there were very few pieces of paneer (cheese) in one of the vegetarian dishes. One of the staff replied back, "Well that's how WE do things HERE." Wow, talk about snobby- this place is not a fancy 5 star restaurant with a master, award winning chef...no need to be so pretentious Darbar!!! Your defensiveness obviously states that you've heard other customers complain about your small portions before! Either do something about it or at least just smile and nod and acknowledge our disappointment. -END OF RANT- Sadly, we all left this restaurant feeling hungry and cheated...future Darbar customers, come at your own risk!

Visited here with my wife and om, during our trip to Orlando. We were the first customers to enter the restaurant and it was overall clean. We ordered the chicken kabob, some kinda stuffed panner ( tasted like malai kofta) and garlic naan. The food was good but the portions sizes were too small, especially the paneer dish. My mom felt like she had some good food after a while ( guess she was hungry) and my wife enjoyed it too. They thought the portions were fine (they are poor eaters..lol). Overall good food but a but pricey.

I am in LOVE! Let me tell ya why-- everyone here is super excited and passionate about Indian food -- you have questions and let them know what type of food you enjoy and they'll choose the perfect dish... Price is kind of steep-- but if you go expecting buffet prices -- it's not going to happen -- although they have a lunch buffet at a great value-- the attention to service and attitude of employees deserves 14-16 dollar entrees -- the food is phenomenal -- I like jalapeño spice so he suggested a 7 -- all and all I felt like a king and I will be back anytime I'm in town.

Not at all happy with service, staff or the food. Quantity wise the food is very less for each portion/plate, also taste wise its average. More so the amount for a dish in the menu was different than what we were charged in the bill( 2$ more than the menu amount). When we questioned about it, the manager said the bill amount is the correct one. Staff is very arrogant. Asked a simple question whether they charge for delivery to near by area? To that the staff answered, nothing in America is for free. Probably he has never got out of his restaurant in a long time! There are other good restaurants around...do not waste your money here!!

Small lunch buffet for 9$ with ok food, but friendly service. Came here in a weekend for their Sunday "brunch", consisting of salad, onion bhajia, rice, Chana masala, chicken tikka, biryani, goat curry, tandoori chicken and lamb seekh kebab, and peas and cheese dish. Served with Naan and on request papadum. Dessert was a choice of mango ice cream or kheer. First off, service is here is very friendly and welcoming and why it gets bumped a star. We came around 1:45 (buffet ends at 2:30) and while they were still refilling some dishes; the bhajia and salad were not refilled, so maybe the food is a bit better here when it is earlier. The best of the dishes offered was the tandoori grilled chicken and lamb kebabs-all of which were very cooked very well. However, the rest of the dishes were just ok. They were actually almost good, but I found something that was just off by a bit. For instance the naan was nice and fluffy, but did not have any ghee to give it that nice buttery taste. The biryani was tasty, but the boned in chicken parts barely had any meat on them. The jasmine rice's consistency was good, but lacked the typical aromatic taste. The same was for the rest of the dishes, which just had the one or two elements missing to make them "good". With just a little tweaking these guys can make this place into a legitimate 4 star review. May come back for another try, especially if I am in a mood for decent tandoori.

TAKE-OUT CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!!! Have been here a number of times and they know us. For a change I called and ordered food for pick up. I went in and handed over my credit card. When I got home my wife asked how much it came to. Much more than we expected, so she called and was told "the computer automatically" added a gratuity. THE GRATUITY WAS 30%!!! FOR TAKE OUT. But this smart "computer" was unable to refund the overcharge. Since they are very closely located to Disney, how many (worn-out from walking all day) tourists unknowingly get that kind of treatment. Sorry Darbar, there are way too many good Indian restaurants around this area. You won't see us again.

The worst ever experience in NA that too with a 4 yr hungry kid:( They took order after 20 min in an almost empty restaurant and was told after 40 mins of order... that the item is not available. Later at the end, even after cleaning the table.. had to wait for another 20 mins to get the check... Finally, for all these superb services they looted 17% of total charges in the name of mandatory Gratuity.

Indian Indian Indian cuisine - order: chicken tikka masala and tandoori chicken. They have great chicken tikka masala with great portions and a side of rice. Make sure you asked for spicy as the regular mild is not as flavorful in my opinion. The price is a little pricey but the key is the 10% discount as an employee for disney. If you call to order or sit down to eat make sure you mention it. Some of the employees used to work at disney. The tandoori chicken is also very juicy and baked to ones hearts content. One order of this dish can easily feed two mouths. Great leftovers for next weekday day if you are single like me. Your coworkers will be eyeing over your meal for sure. The place is not hard to find, it's on a strip mall next to Fairfield Marriott hotel. You can't miss it. I rate this three star as the restaurant is good but not great. I would definitely go back here but not a frequent destination for me.

I NEVER thought I'd drop a ONE star review on a restaurant...Tonight....was the night I'm in town from California and we thought we'd order in to our hotel for a change of pace from the food you're trapped in to eating when you stay at a hotel for 8 days or however long we're here... I was charged $120 for a shrimp tandoori , 2 chicken tikka , 1 tandoori chicken and some apps....I've never paid this much for indian food ever...I expected an amazing meal..instead we opened up our order to find they decided to not send the 2 chicken tikka... OK so we call the restaurant and after being passed around to multiple people who also probably moonlight as Technical Support for a major electronics company, they told us Its on the way, my friend!! 20 minutes later the food arrives...My hotel is literally a 3 minute drive from the restaurant.....I googled mapped. The food couldn't have been more average, I have had excellent Indian food and this wasn't it.

Service was great. We were almost last party to enter. Waiter had middle Easter accent so I was skeptical about being Indian restaurant. On one wall there is Madina/Macca picture, other wall has Gita picture. Dinner soup was great in taste. There was onion salad with chilly. It had nice heat to it. Kabob were nicely done. Standard butter naan. Paneer pieces thought were few. I had to search for it in a curry/gravy. Best was tadaka daal. Not Punjabi style but more like north East Indian style. That was my favorite. Waiter mentioned that cook is Bengali . Not sure that made that daal taste different. Good food.

Like many other are saying 'portions are very little' and on top of that the chicken items we ordered had hardly any chicken pieces compared to amount of gravy. We did groupon deal and I think to make up their total the restaurant added automatic gratuity. Overall if I didn't had groupon deal I would've not gone.

The staff was friendly and extremely attentive, and the food exploding with flavor!! My girlfriend order a mild butter chicken and I ordered the curry lamb spicy. An absolutely wonderful excursion into the spices and meats of succulent Indian food!! We will definitely return soon.

Food is average. But there is one thing in their services brought the rating to one stars. They way they handle my checks. I had a dinner of two and ordered two takeouts for my friends. I asked for separate checks because I don't think I should pay tips for the takeouts. Guess what, a 20% tips is ALREADY applied to the check! I have never seen one Restaurant apply such high tips for takeouts without asking. After finishing the dinner when I am asking for the check for the dinner, I got the right check without a pre applied tips. It was 36 dollars, but when they got my card and swiped my card, they automatically added a 20% tips and charged an extra 7 dollars and that 7 dollars wasnt even labeled as tips! If I wasn't careful enough I probably would have paid the tips twice. OK I am not saying the services do not deserve 20% tips and I do not really care about the money but the way they handle the checks is extremely rude. How could you charge extra 20 without asking? How could you present me with a 36 dollar check and swipe 43 dollars without asking? It is called gratitude for a reason! You really need to learn to respect people before starting this business. I feel they are good people but they need to learn a lesson.

We went for lunch, mid-week and found the waiter very attentive and helpful. The food was excellent and well worth the price. He felt we ordered too many "dry" foods and not enough ones with "gravy" (sauce), so he brought some sauces to our table without charging us for them. The Na'an was particularly good. The prices were reasonable and the selection great. We were only disappointed that there was no mango chutney available that day. Definitely a place to keep on our list!

We just loved it. Tiny place with really friendly people. Hard workers. My husband had chicken curry and naan and I had the lentil soup with an Indian spiced veggie mix with garlic naan and onion and herb stuffed naan. My hubby stuffed himself, I have lots of leftovers! We are locals so can't wait to return.

The ambience is nice and this place is closer to the major attractions of Orlando. The biggest problem with this indian restaurant is the small quantity of curries and high price. The food tasted okay! Our waiter was not organized.

Very much a hidden gem nestled in the Buena Vista Lake area. Lunch service was very kind and attentive. Prices were cheap. Portions were extremely large. Lunch is three courses, even--with choices between desserts. Chai is phenomenal and will make you think you're in India. My favorite part though, were the samosas--crisp, flavorful and even spicy. Their tamarind chutney is ridiculously hot and delicious--so tread lightly, if you're a wuss. We'll definitely be back.

We were treated very well by the staff. The food was delicious. The waiter even gave us a free dessert. The atmosphere was quiet since we were the only customers there at the time but we actually liked it. Great dining experience overall. I would definitely come back if I return next year.

It was our first time eating at Darbar and we had a great experience! We tried their Sunday buffet - everything was fresh, well seasoned and the service was impeccable. The restaurant was clean and pretty packed with mostly locals but some tourists as well. The chef came out and spoke to every table which was a really nice touch. The mango ice cream is homemade and creamy but our favorite dessert was the homemade rice pudding. It was so light and well made we wished we hadn't gotten so full so we could enjoy more. Once again, the service is outstanding here!!! The wait staff is caring, attentive and concerned with your experience! We loved it and will be back!!

HORRIBLE. I can't even pick Zero stars. Small portions, overpriced, up charge on asking for more appetizer, worst Indian/Pakistani food. Every item has the same curry base. Nothing is unique or distinct. I asked for more PAPARS! They charged me $4 extra. Definitely not going to again! Not again. Don't buy Groupon. They will up charge you.

Service, cost and quantity of food not aligned. Waste of time and money. What you see on menu is not what comes on plate. Not going back here. Ordered a darbari paneer. The quantity was a joke, taste was bearable, just one piece of paneer, rice was very cold. We then ordered Dal Makhani. It seemed as though they heated the "ready to eat Haldirams" packet and served hot. Never go back here.

All I can say is WOW! Amazing food, amazing service and reasonable prices. We went there for dinner and also for the buffet and both times the food was great, but what really stood out was the service!!! Must try is the Mango Lassi, Naan w/cheese and chicken tikka masala...yummy!

  • Kedar P.

Very good Indian/Pakistani food. We ordered the chicken kababs, shakuti chicken, chicken rolls, goat curry (off the menu), etc on different days when we were in Orlando. The preparation was very tasty. We especially liked the chicken shakuti.

I am of Indian descent; had Indian food all my life. Read the good reviews and wanted to try it out when we were close to Disney's marketplace. We decided to just get a carryout of Chicken Tikka Masala (includes rice) and a Naan, so it would be easy to compare to other Indian restaurants. Order was ready in 10 minutes. First surprise, they included 18% tip on the bill - on a one dish carryout! Menu says for 6 or more people they add 18% tip. I pointed it out to the cashier and he said something like "oh, that was a mistake" and he took it off. I am not sure about the "mistake" part. As for the Chicken dish, it was mediocre at best. Smelled OK. It was some kind of pre-made sauce added to the pre-cooked dry (tough) chicken - NOT Chicken Tikka masala by any means. Rice was OK, and naan would get a 3-star from me. I have tried Chicken Tikka Masala at many restaurants in Orlando and other cities; I would rate it the lowest. I tried this place because of the good reviews on Yelp. I was disappointed. This is in a very touristy area; if you are in the area and want Indian food, I suggest you drive further away (good option - Aashirwad). If you must eat at Darbar keep an eye on the included tip, so you don't end up double-tipping (18% + 15% = 33%)!

The restaurant was clean and a nice sit down establishment (read as casual but a nice casual). The waiters were very attentive and friendly. The selection of items (including vegetarian items) was very good and there were some non typical items as well. I'm Indian and my husband and I enjoyed the food very much. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the mood for tasty Indian food. We had the palak paneer and dal makhni and an order of naan (the entrees come with rice).

note to the owner-LISTEN I do not want lukewarm water on a day when its 100 degrees outside Your staff was fighting on TOP of their voices-a heavy voiced bearded guy shouting a woman-NOT PLEASING AT ALL your paneer jalfrezi is like onion jalfrezi-paneer was a rare thing in the piles of onion Vegetable biryani is NOT vegetables added to boiled rice Three stars for the thali I had 2 days ago..NOT COMING BACK FOR ANYTHING ELSE

I've eaten at some of the best Indian restaurants in the US...from Los Angeles to New York but none of them have the combination of excellent service and tasty ingredients like Darbar. If you're a fan of well seasoned Indian cuisine like I am, don't think about it just go! Omar went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal and the Vegetable Shahi Korma Thali he recommended was so flavorful and full of veggies. If you live in Orlando or are just visiting...don't leave without dining here

i wish i could give zero stars. i usually never wrote reviews but looking at misleading 4 stars on yelp i think i have to review it. it's so not true. beware yelpers... this place sucks and stinks and what not. they cut corners everywhere... they placed papadum on my table and the then charged me for that. the taste of food was so not satisfactory.. the serve what they call is the standard 24 oz portions which are super tiny.. not sufficient for even one person. never seem smaller portion anywhere before. we ordered 7 vegetables for a party of 5. they charged me for onions. and more than anything else 18 (eighteen percent) gratuity for party of five. we paid $149 including mandatory 18% gratuity of $25. is like $30 per person for indian food of below average food.

  • Rick S.

Lunch staff is super friendly, I am anti buffet but theirs is clean, nicely displayed and well tended to. There are about 10 or so selections with a good verity to choose from. The mango ice cream is homemade and a delicious way to end a great meal. Will be back again for sure.

  • Parimala N.

Food and service were excellent. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The green chutney that came with the papad was superb. The vegetable appetizer plate was excellent - did not feel like it was re-fried. The Bhindi(okra) masala was also very good - smaller portion size than I expected, but made up on taste. It is possible it was a bit more expensive than normal - our bill was $50 for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 naan's and 1 ice cream. But we enjoyed it all.

We came in and there were two large families of 28 and 24 respectively so the atmosphere was noisy. But the service staff did their best to make us feel at home. We ordered a dal makhani, naan, chicken korma and goat biryani. The dal makhani was really good. And so was the goat biryani. The chicken korma was so so. Can be made at home. At the end because we waited long, we got two free Cokes. So overall a pleasant experience.

My sister and I like Indian curry. When we traveled around downtown Disney, we missed the scent of curry and we specially took a taxi to this restaurant. But to our disappoint, it's just a Mediocre restaurant. Service was fast, but food was not so impressive even when we were so starving. Wouldn't recommend it.

This place looks like a relatively new Indian restaurant in Orlando, in the Steak and Shake plaza. The interior is very nice, dimly lit. I saw a lot of families here with their kids eating dinner. My family and I ordered butter chicken, saag paneer, aloo gobi, and garlic/butter naan. I was really looking forward to the butter chicken, but I had so many inedible pieces in the dish. It kind of put a damper on what was otherwise a good, creamy dish. The saag paneer was okay. I personally prefer saag paneer when it's a little creamier and the color is not extremely dark green, for some reason. This restaurant had the saag paneer with a ton of dark green spinach but not that much cream. It was still an OK dish though. Everyone in my family liked the aloo gobi (potatoes with cauliflower), and the naan was deliciously baked. Service was good too. They were very nice. I would come back again but probably skip the butter chicken.

The food is really good, but the service is really bad. We went in for a late lunch (2pm) there were only 3 tables (including ours), and the service was extremely slow. We actually called the waiter twice and told him we were ready to order he would tell us he was coming right back and disappear for 5-10 minutes. If you are a patient person and have time to wait the food is definetly worth it.

I visited Darbar while in Orlando for a conference. The location is good, atmosphere is attractive, staff who initially greeted us very friendly and welcoming. I was with a party of 4, and we were given a small bowl of chips, not much for 4 diners. Everything else was ala carte and on the expensive side for such a menu, $14 - $16. Non bread was an extra $3.99. Dinner portions were served in a small bowl, looked more like an appetizer. Only thing else provided was a bowl of communal rice to share between 4 diners. Left unsatisfied.

Excellent customer care and awesome food even for original Indian standards. Taste of pakora, lamb koftha and chicken tikka with naans was great for a buffet. Biryani was ok. They didn't charge for my 4year old even though I was ready to pay. Mango ice cream was awesome too. Staff was very cordial and inviting and not being nice just for job sake.

Hate to write a review like this but this is just in regards to customer service. I'm in Orlando for work and I don't have access to the team car. That being said, I consulted yelp for places that deliver within a 2 mile radius. This place looked promising and the menu looked amazing (apart from India I haven't had much luck finding chicken manchurian). On yelp, deliver = Yes. On their website "Please call us at (407) 238 7684 and place your order for take outs and delivery. It's easy." So I call, the guy who answered practically laughed at me saying that it was impossible and that I was too far away. 2 miles? Ok. So then I cite their site and the guy says he will call me back once he talks to the owner. No call even to say they confirmed that it was not possible and I've been waiting for 30 minutes. Time to look elsewhere. Just be advised that they DON'T DELIVER despite what's written on yelp and all over their site.

Beware they add 20% gratuity on your check, even if you are 2 people. Bombay chaat, Idli sambhar, Garlic Naan and Dal Makhni are good. Paneer Jalfrezi was very dry, only sautéed onions and hard paneer. They make hot spicy if you order so. Restaurant is mediocre. Added gratuity to check, something I did not like.

I rarely write yelp reviews but this place deserves one. My fiance and I were in town for a conference and had to stock up on groceries. We were both starving but all we saw around us was a sea of McDonalds, TGIF's, and similar disgusting chain restaurants. When we saw "Indian Cuisine" it was like a diamond in the rough - how bad could it be? Bad? Not at all. "Bahut acha"! I lived in India for half a year and traveled to Bombay, Hyderabad, and many other cities throughout India. The Chef Special Biryani was as good if not better than the biryani I had in Hyderabad. My fiance ordered the Lamb Madras. It was incredibly tender and served in a madras red curry sauce that I would drink straight if I had some more. We had plenty of leftovers the next day thanks to the large portions. The food tasted even better. The service was prompt in terms of seating but, like all good food, it takes a bit to prepare. It was worth the small wait. The restaurant was only partially filled but what appeared to be mostly local Indian families. The prices were higher than what I am used to paying for Indian food, but this is a tourist Disney area and the food was worth the price. The bill came out to $25/person for two entries and an appetizer.

I ordered take-out from them once before and in process of ordering now. Their phone number is busy and they do not have multiple lines or call waiting. Which means customers will get a busy line if someone is already ordering from them. They should consider investing in multiple lines or call waiting.

This was a really pleasant dinner after a long day over at universal islands of adventure. The wait staff were very friendly and nice. We had chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, baigan bharta, and the mixed grill appetizer. The food was pretty good, I liked the eggplant dish a lot. We also had garlic naan, my favorite, and chefs special naan which had some meat mixed in.

My husband and I love Indian food and always try to find an Indian restaurant whenever we travel. We were very happy we stumbled across Darbar. Our server Mourad was happy to give us suggestions on what we should try and he even brought my two year old a delicious mango yogurt drink to try. He was very personable and attentive. The food tasted very fresh and the portions were good as well. The lunch menu was a steal and we are so excited to go back Friday for their lunch buffet.

If out-of-town visitors to Orlando were to base our city's dining options based on South Apopka Vineland Road, I wouldn't blame them at all for their criticism of Orlando dining. This area near Downtown Disney is lousy with chains: bad bad chains. But Darbar is a respite from the culinary-deprived desert of Highway 535. It's an Indian restaurant which is owned and operated by honest-to-goodness real folks from India. Darbar offers a fine selection of beef, lamb, chicken, fish and vegetarian specialties. Read the Yelp Darbar reviews from those who have experienced Indian cuisine in London and other places and can speak more eloquently than I on Darbar (meaning a royal court). My entree of choice was Palak Paneer, creamed spinach with cottage cheese, garlic and Indian spices, ordered medium-hot. Palak Paneer offers one of the most unappetizing presentations you could nightmare about; yet it's flavorful and most highly recommended by this writer. I've said it before. South and West Orlando have a wealth of purely-excellent Indian establishments. Darbar is among the best of all.

This was my first trip to Orlando and I was staying at Caribe Royal. I was introduced to this restaurant by a Taxi driver, who recommended it for Halal food. I ordered their barbecue sizzler and it was really delicious. Everything was very nicely done and tasty. The service was really beyond my expectations. Strongly recommend for hight quality food and great service.

We made it here for dinner while staying at the Fairfield next door. We had two chicken dishes, one biryani, one lamb dish, and three orders of naan. Everything was nicely spiced and delicious. They were willing to alter ingredients. The one dish that was ordered spicy could have been spicier (hot), but this person loves hot food! We would definitely eat here again.

My wife and visited Darbar for lunch today. We are regular eaters of Indian food at many places and this is great Indian food! The lunch platter was extremely full, a chicken curry, rice, two chutneys, yogurt sauce, padpad, and very good naan bread. All items were excellent. We also got a chicken tikka masala, which was great but not as sweet as others we have had, we both liked it just as well or better. The mango lassi was also large and served in a frosted mug. It was so much food we had to bring the rest home. If you like it spicy, I would consider notching up the level, the 'scale' is relatively mild, so I would consider their medium as actually mild. The prices are appropriate, good value. Ambiance was appropriate. The service is extremely good, friendly and attentive. It may have helped they were not busy, but they should be! Update - a year later for dinner and everything is still great, especially the service.

Being vegetarian we tried Darbari paneer, navratan korma, paneer makhani masala and naan. Butter naan were very soft, we liked it. Darbari paneer was tasty. Kheer (rice pudding) was just so awesome. Quantity is not enough for the cost. I guess they should increase it. Ice cream (two scoop) was also good taste. Overall food has very good taste but less quantity for the cost. Host / owner Gautam is very polite and very kids friendly and jolly nature. Recommended.

horrible service. understaffed. took 10 mins to bring water the table after a reminder. kept people waiting at the door. serving size of each dish is small. would not suggest anyone to visit.

Absolutely delicious, authentic Indian cuisine and phenomenal service. Would come here again & again. Chicken Jalfraizi, Delhi Chicken, and Chicken Korma were all top-notch! Cheese naan bread was excellent, as well!

Looking for a place to eat late one night. Located in a strip mall, and very unassuming, we stumbled on this nice place. Food was flavorful and plentiful. Service was excellent as they answered all our questions about ingredients. If you have an adventurous family, this is a good choice as there is a lot of food at a very reasonable price. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes to step out of the routine.

The food was fantastic but the service, outstanding!!! After days of so-so food near Disney we were so excited to find real food. My husband has a gluten sensitivity and so we told our waiter and he checked and researched the dishes he ordered. My husband ordered the chicken tikka masala, I had goat biryani and the kids shared chicken tandoori. We had pistachio kulfi and mango ice cream for dessert, we were told they were out of the mango ice cream but somehow our waiter found enough for my daughter to have, she was delighted! Everything was very fresh and flavorful. Our water glasses were replenished throughout the night. Great place and thank you Omar for the first-rate service!

We ate here during our vacation. It was conveniently located in the same parking lot of our hotel. We really liked this place. There were so many vegetarian options. The food can be prepared in a variety of different spice levels. Everything we ordered was delicious. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. He even gave us dessert on the house! The mango ice cream is fantastic. I definitely recommend Dar bar.

Not very impressed with the food. Almost every other was complaining about the food. On top of that they automatically charge 18% gratuity. I would not recommend anyone to eat here

Food was hot, tasty, authentic, quick (as I was the only one in the restaurant at noon on a Saturday), and inexpensive. I ordered the Tadka Dal Thali which are yellow lentils flavored and tempered with Indian spices.

For an appetizer we tried the non-vegi platter, which was terrific! We had the lamb and chicken tiki masla and both were great. The onion nans were excellent, fresh from the oven. Don't miss out on the homemade ice creme, we had the 3 flavors one, and my wife (who is from Punjab) had to immediately tell her family how good it all was. :-)

This is the first time Yelp has let me down. We felt like Indian food after a long day in Downtown Disney so I did a search on Yelp. Came up with 3 places all close to each other. This one had the highest rating. No matter how the place looks, how there were no customers in there at 7:30 PM, I have faith in Yelp so we didn't turn around and leave. Funny thing is that as we were sitting there waiting on our food, at least 2 other customers came in, waited to be seated but since the one and only waiter was stuck in the kitchen, they decided to just leave. We were the only customers in there for most of the meal and the food took a long time to come out. First thing is no liquor license so no beer. Don't order the appetizers, the samosas were tiny, the size of frozen pizza rolls. We ordered 2 servings for $4 per serving and had 4 small pizza roll sizes and they weren't stuffed with lobster or caviar. My son ordered a cheeseburger for $6. It wasn't off the children's menu, it was supposed to be a full sized adult burger but it was really tiny, and the side of fries was another $2. The Indian food was otherwise OK but turned out to be pricey. And we had to ask for the waiter to bring us chutney and it was only one kind that looked and tasted more like green salsa. Gave it 2 stars because the food was generally OK. Will never go back.

Too pricey, and food was very average too much masala in everything makes food unappealing rather than flavorful.

Having travelled to India Ive always had a need for real indian food. Having had a hard time finding decent Indian cuisine in the states after moving here almost a year ago I cannot recommend this place more. Authentic and delicious! I wish I could have fit more in. More than reasonably priced too. If you're in Orlando and like authentic Indian food... Go out of your way to eat here

north indian food is ok. DO NOT ORDER SOUTH INDIAN FOOD... TERRIBLE SAMBAR and IDLI. the manager assured me they had just cooked it fresh 1.5 days ago but I could have sworn it was gone bad. Also the manager needs some customer orientation training:-)

This little off the beaten path close to Downtown Disney restaurant was a wonderful find! A friend and I are in town for a conference and read other reviews on Yelp for this place and were sold. Those previous reviews were spot on! Excellent food and the service from Omar was outstanding. I recommend any of the lamb dishes with garlic naan and of course rice kheer for dessert! We will be back!!!

Ok i will try and make this as brief as i can !! First of all I love Indian Food ,growing up in Nottingham England where indian restaurants are a staple on every high street , I consider myself a Indian Food snob living in Miami Fla It took My wife and I seven years to find an Indian restaurant acceptable , Well last week we were in Orlando for the weekend and after a day of shopping we were deciding what to eat and i suggested Indian, My wife rolling her eyes " You know its going to end in disappointment " ....But i really wanted Indian food... So we searched the sites you know this one and the spoon one and came up with Kabob and curry , it was nearby and had a decent rating , we went looking for it only to find out it had closed down and now reopened under new ownership as "Dabar"......We were going to bale out but thought what the heck were hear The food was great ,,,,Not Good it was great Authentic, tasty, delicate, I had the Keema Nan ,, The best i have ever had in fact you could eat this as a meal and it would be satisfying the Spiced lamb chunks perfect, Main corse Lamb Korma ..The best ..just cant say enough it was awesome i actually stuffed myself the food was so good i could not bare to leave even the smallest morsel behind as a nice touch the chef even came form the back to ask us how our meal was You will not be disappointed

This was my first time for Indian food. They had a lunch buffet which was cool cause we got to try several dishes, but nothing was labeled. If the gentleman at the counter wasn't busy, he was happy to explain the dishes. We figure it must have been decent cuisine as several Indian families ate while we were there. I would have given more stars but no free refills and I am still not sure what some of the things were I ate.

I just ate here for the 1st time yesterday and really enjoyed it. My boyfriend and I weren't sure if we wanted the lunch buffet or if we were going to order from the menu. We ended up ordering some naan and parathas from the menu and trying the buffet. I thought the food in the buffet was quite delicious. I tried the tandoori chicken, chicken jalfriezi, chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, a super tasty potato curry, and chole ( chickpea dish), along with salad. The restaurant is clean and the staff was very friendly. The next time I am in Orlando, I will definitely stop by here again.

Went there reading other review but was disappointed with the food. Dal tadka was not made by yellow dal and taste was bad. There are many good Indian restaurants in close by area and please try one of those.

I don't usually go to restaurants in strip malls, but the Yelp reviews for Kabob N Curry and my family's love for Indian food took us here. The place was almost empty and we almost left, but I'm glad we stayed! We had garlic and cheese naan, veggie samosas, malai kofta, chicken jalafrezzi masala and ginger chicken - all were great! I can't give 5 stars due to lack of beverage options and a few things they were out of, but service was great as well.

My biggest challenge was finding dinner during our time at Disney. All the restaurants I read about were impossibly crowded. So, I jumped in the car and drove around a bit. I peeked into Kabob N Curry, but it looked kind of shady, so I opted for Steak N Shake instead. The next night, my wife and I ordered take out from Kabob N Curry, and we were not disappointed. The food was the best Indian/Pakistani that I've had since leaving the Bay Area. The Veggie Biryani was SPICY, even to my palate, and the Chicken Reshme Kabob was spicy enough that it didn't need the sauce provided. The Naan was soft, fluffy, and fresh as well. I can't speak for the dining room, since we ordered take out, but the food is top notch. If I find myself at Disney, I'll be back.

The service was nice and attentive but not to the point of being annoying. My husband and I went for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the chicken tikka with a side order of steamed rice. I loved it and I am a very picky eater so I am hard to please. Next time we are in Florida I hope to be able to stop by again.

We went for lunch buffet week days back to this hotel ( on Sat/Sunday ). In the lunch they offerred, 1 appetizer, 3 veg curries, naans, some kind of salad, some simple flavoured rice ( not biryani ), 1 desert. When we asked for veg biryani instead of that rice, they said it's a special order. That's it.....It's 14 dollars for each. For non-veg guys, may be 3 more items. But, we are vegetarians. Whatever food is there, it's tasteful. No complaints on that and we informed the same to waiters. But, cost wise it's not worth. Waiters are def'ly good and service is also quick.

Pretty good food overall. Great service and we got our food very quickly. Staff was nice and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure everything was fine. I ordered the mix tandoori platter ($26.95) came with naan, two lamb chops, some marinated chicken and shrimp in a sizzling platter. It was very good but the portion for $27 is not worth it. My friend ordered the eggplant platter which she said was very good. $13.95 it came with white rice. Food portions very small for the price. I would return here but I don't think the prices are justified.

Food is ok but terrible place if you are planning just for a to-go. After initial hi-hello, I was kept waiting.... and waiting. No one came to take my to-go order while other guests were greeted and guided to the table. I eventually left without ordering. Opinion on food is from earlier experiences.

From the very begging service was excellent! Food was amazing as well! I had to chicken tikka Marsala and my wife had the navratan korma. Choose how hot your want it. I got mine medium and my wife got hers spicy, both were not overly spicy.
