This is the real deal. You have not had a Cuban Sandwich unless you've had one here (or obviously unless you're a Cuban from Miami yourself). I wish they'd add a little more meat though to their sandwiches like in Miami but no biggie. Be prepared to wait a bit - this is not a fast-food joint although one can mistaken it for one- they prepare everything fresh on-the-spot.

I have been here twice, both times for workday lunches, and neither time disappointed. I had the traditional Cuban combo my first time, and I would probably come back for it, but my second visit revealed my menu item of choice... the roast pork sandwich. In my opinion, the best cuban sandwiches have roast pork and ham instead of more standard sliced pork. The roast pork sandwich has a much more forward flavor profile than the standard Cuban in my opinion. Take note, however, that all reviews and signs point to the truth; this is not a quick in and out, but they make no secret of it, so no points are lost here for me. This last time, I tried the quesitos, and they rival the best I've ever had. Were this review solely based on the food from my second visit, I would have given five stars. It's an outdoor joint, so it's a bit hot in the summer months, but they have fans and friendly service. They are cash only as well, so plan accordingly!

I ordered a Cuban sandwich from here a few weeks ago. Arrived around 11:30am and though there was no one ahead of me, it took quite a bit for them to throw it together and grill it up. The bread was super flavorful and tasted fresh though it was more of a ham sandwich than anything else. The amount of slices of ham versus the pork was about 5 slices ham to 1 slice of pork with slices of cheese, a slather of mustard and pickles thrown in. Now, the quesito I got for dessert was outstanding - crispy because they heated it up a bit and rich in the sugar and cheese. Very yummy!

If you are looking for authentic Cuban, this is the place to come! Everything is made fresh & to order. It is on Lee Road right before Edgewater on a corner and not hard to miss. They have a walk up window and some seating on a covered patio, which definitely helped today because it was hot, and the breeze was enjoyable. You can eat there, or get them to go like we did. We ended up getting a Cuban sandwich (ham, pork, swiss cheese, pickles & mustard), Pork sandwich (Pan Con Lechon) (pork, onions, mayo, & mojo), Grilled Cheese sandwich (made with swiss or american, but can do both if requested), Stuffed Potato (papa rellano), and Quesitos (puffed pastry w/cheese filling and sugar on the top). The sandwiches were really good, you wont be disappointed and the prices are reasonable. The stuffed potato was good, just could use some salt. The Quesitos are really good and a little messy but worth it! We wanted fried plantains and tres leches cake but they had already sold out for the day :-( Overall this is definitely worth the stop if your on this side of town! If you are looking for authentic Cuban food then this is the place for you. Not only will you walk away full, you wont break the bank in the process :-)

This place has good service. The food was good and the price is just right. Check them out if you are on this side of town

I give this place three stars not because anything happened, but because it was average. The prices weren't bad, and the Cuban was good, though I still personally like Black Bean Deli more. It's a very quaint place that I would not have stopped at if a coworker wouldn't have taken me. Just be forewarned, they only accept cash. And when you go, order the plantains! They were some of the best that I have had in Orlando, and they were made fresh!

I'm not a huge fan of Cuban sandwiches, but even I will admit that this place makes excellent Cubans! A little roadside stop, you order through a window and sit outside on a little patio. A limited menu of traditional Cuban fare, I believe this place was on food network at one point. If you're in the area and want some quick Cuban food, this is a great option.

Very good but was sold a cold Cuban last time out, so I'm not keen to return. I wouldn't say they're cheap either. Two large Cubans with Cokes and a tamale will kill a twenty. Customer service tends to be a bit brusk and somewhat course. Cash only btw.

This is my first time here after passing it almost every day, and the Cuban sandwich was absolutely delicious! Very friendly staff!

Great place for a Cuban sandwich! Flavors are what a good family own small business focuses on. Quality is alway their staple with consistency time after time. The wait is sometimes slow, but then a well made sandwich deserves that extra time to roast on the press. Well done!

This hole-in-the-wall place is just EXCELLENT!!!! I've ordered their Cuban sandwich and cheese flan. They were just absolutely fantastic! Your food is made to order so it takes a bit of a wait time but it is definitely worth it. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious! Definitely try this place if you are driving by! Oh, this place only accepts cash so bring your cash!

Quality has gone own hill. Still a decent sandwich, but its not a Cuban sandwich. Might still visit it, but I won't go out of my way for it.

This is not a fancy restarunt. Just a long standing local joint with good food. I eat here all the time. Life is not complete without one of their roast pork sandwiches and a bunch of hot sauce.

We've ordered sandwiches and desserts from here a half dozen times. It's pretty good by Orlando standards. I'll keep coming back too. But, it doesn't meet authentic miami Cuban flavor. What I mean by that, is that it's not real Cuban bread and the pork is not the same either. I've been in Orlando for a decade now, I'm still searching for a Cuban and Chinese spot like down in Miami.

I've been eating Cuban sandwiches at this place for at least 25 of the 28 years I've been on this planet. They're always absolutely amazing and worth the wait.

The food is fresh but nothing spectacular. The black bean soup left a lot to be desired. No flavor, tasted like a can of beans heated up. The Cuban sandwich is good but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. The roast pork sandwich is probably the best thing on the menu but it doesn't come close to the roast pork sandwich at Cubans on the run in Longwood. Be sure to call ahead & place your order because they are very slow. CASH ONLY

Good place to find. Was sick of the fast food in the area, heard about this lunch spot. Cool little place, pretty busy. The wait can be 15 minutes or more, but well worth it. Pretty good Cuban sandwich, the 7" is more than adequate. I also had the plantains, those were REALLY good.

Is there anywhere else north of Miami that has such good Cuban sandwiches? I don't think so. It's surprising this little place on a triangle of land hasn't moved to a bigger location. It's tough to park there because there is so little room and you have to share it with the building and the seating. They have a few resin tables and chairs out front of the building and it's pleasant, except for Love Bug season. The Cuban sandwiches have to be the best outside Miami. There are a few other choices but why bother? This is around the corner from the Korean grocery store where I go, so it's not a big trip. My only other option was to go to 7-Eleven and have them put it in the waffle iron/sandwich press. I'm not sure many people know, but this place was featured on The Food Network.

Let me tell you, this place is truly a hidden gem! I was a bit wary when I first came here since I am from Miami, and have had excellent ones but this place does not disappoint at all! Definitely stop by for a delicious sandwich.

The Cuban sandwiches here are way better than the ones they microwave for you at 7-Eleven. I was shocked by this, too. If you work for a living, it can be hard to eek this place out on your lunch break because they are very, very slow. They realize this, which is why they place a sign by the window warning you not to sass them. They refuse to put in a drive-thru, which means you have to exit your vehicle. I know, total bummer. There's a cute patio outside with a fountain that feels quite zen considering you're breathing in the fresh car exhaust from gorgeous Lee Rd. Get acquainted with it, because you're going to wait a while. This is pretty much the best Cuban sandwich that I'm aware of, advice you should take to heart because I once ate Cuban food in Miami and I know what I'm talking about. The bread is divine, the meat tastes like meat, and it's slathered in mustard and cheesy goodness. Is it worth taking an extra 30 minutes for lunch and getting fired as a result? I dunno. Do you actually like your job?

For sure this is a great place to eat if you want a real Cuban sandwich. I was also surprised how cheap it was to get the food. Honestly, I thought it would be about $2 more per sandwich. Definitely be prepared - you will be waiting for the food... its not fast food! Most of all, you better bring cash because they don't take credit! Oh, you'll likely want to take the food to go since they don't have much room to sit.

Betty and I always like to try some local flavor when we travel, last time we were in Miami we had a great Cuban Sandwich, so we decided to look for a place during our vacation in Orlando, Cuban Sandwiches to Go won the toss. We each had the Cuban and the black bean soup. The sandwich was classic, cooked just right with crispy bread, tangy mustard, thin sliced ham and pickle chips. The black bean soup was basic, seasoned with cumin and garnished with fresh onions. Sandwich was very good, lighter on the pickle than I like. Soup really needed a little added something, and the hot sauce on hand provided just that. You ever visit Orlando and you want a little Cuban flavor Cuban Sandwiches To Go is a great place to go. Just be ready to wait a while.

Holy moly. I am not exactly quite sure how this place managed to make a cuban sandwich so delicious. The ingredients are simple however when you master a technique such as creating a masterpiece then all the sandwiches making skills come naturally. The best cuban sandwich ever. I guess what I am trying to say is..the following easy ingredients are clearly winners. 1.Fresh toasted cuban bread 2.Thick oozing cheese upon every bite 3. Hot ham to compliment the melting cheese 4. Crunchy pickles 5. Plain ol' mustard that bangs a punch Crunchy, cheesey, simple perfection...

VERY delicious! Simple ingredients, yet superb flavor. You must try the café con leche, it went well with the sandwiches. Prices are not that bad either~

This Cuban sandwich shop prides itself on not being Fast Food. There are slogans up on the outside wall around where you place your orders. Such as "We've made a deal with the bank not to make sandwiches and we won't cash checks or take credit cards". There is also a sign above the porch that proclaims "Voted the Best Cuban Sandwich Food Network 01-02". I could not verify this claim as foodtv.com doesn't seem to have anything but current stuff on there site. I could not find anything about something that happened 5 years ago. Note (1/4/2008): I found it. Here is Cuban Sandwiches To Go recipe on the Food Channel web site! foodnetwork.com/recipes/… I had the turkey and cheese sandwich with a side of black bean soup. The sandwich had been warmed in a sandwich press and sliced in the diagonal like the classic Cuban sandwich. There was only turkey and cheese on the sandwich, just as described on the menu board. The black bean soup was also just as described on the menu board i.e. soup. There was rice and raw fresh onions mixed in as well. The soup had a strong flavor of cumin. With the addition of some unmarked hot sauce the soup was very good. The sandwich was also good although it would have been better with a little lettuce or tomato or even a slice or two of pickle. I had the required Jupina soda (pineapple) with my meal. There was quite a line when I arrived at 12:10. It took about 10 minutes for my order to be called out at the pick-up window. The patio was equipped with plastic chairs and tables. The meal was pleasant for a sidewalk café on Lee Road, on a 90 degree day in Orlando.

I have nothing but great things to say about this place! The food is great, the staff is always smiles, and I will be going there today to get more. I always get the Cuban Combo, which is the normal Cuban with black bean soup. Sometimes, i'll get a tamale or a fried potato ball, but the combo alone is more then enough to fill you up! You need to eat here at least once, it's pretty damned amazing!

Judging by the other reviews I had an unusually terrible experience. I've driven by this place for years and always wanted to stop in. When I did I was sorely disappointed that I had not kept my money firmly in my wallet. My fiance and I got 2 traditional Cuban sandwiches. Got a cold reception when we walked up to the window to order. Waited substantial time for our food, which I don't mind as long as the food pays off. The bread on our sandwiches was stale, the meat was dry, the pickles were so few they were pretty much non existent, the mustard followed the same tune. I love a good Cuban. Generally speaking I would never return to such a place, but based on the other reviews I may chalk it up to a terrible experience and give the place another go.

The sandwiches at this little place on Lee Road are good, but there's no excuse for the slow service. I can drive up the road to Black Bean and get a "custom made" Cuban just as good or better within a couple of minutes, with much friendlier service.

I'm not going to lie. I'm a huge fan of Cuban sandwiches, so my standards when it comes to this dish may be a little high. I was researching around and found that Cuban Sandwiches To-Go has some of the best in the area. It's basically a lunch stand, which I would expect because most of the best Cuban Sandwiches I have had, have come in this fashion. The menu itself is sparse, you have your choice of a small Cuban Sandwich, and Large Cuban Sandwich, and some plantain chips. I was in heaven. I was picking up a bunch of Cuban sandwiches for some folks to try, but I quickly realized they didn't accept credit cards, so I had to make a run to the bank. From there, I ended up with a sack of brown paper and aluminum foil wraps of deliciousness. The pork is nearly perfect, and the melted swiss cheese is just in the right amount.

Been going there for 20 years. Always consistently good. Drive there from DaytonaBeach on a whim and for sure make it a stop if shopping or going to the airport. Have tried everything ang have never been disappointed.

As a fan of the cuban sandwich, the one I had here was one of the best. Served from a low rent lunch stand, the food was made with love. All the ingredients were in perfect harmony. I'll be back.

Ok so here goes, I had lunch at this place today. The lady at the window was very friendly, and since I had never had a cuban sando' she explained the differences between the sandwiches on the menu. I opted for the cuban and the pork meat sandwiches. I ordered two sandos because I wanted to try them both and I'm from Cali so who knows when I'll be back. Not to mention the price for both of them was about the price of a good sandwich in Cali anyway $11. The sandwiches themselves I'm not so sure I liked. I mean the flavor combination just didn't do anything for me. Mustard, pickles, ham, and cooked pork meat, with onions. The bread was good though. I got the non sweet bread. I would have to say the quality of the ingredients was there, but I just didn't really care for the way they mingled with each other. So overall I still give this place 4 stars because I think if you like this sort of thing you would like it.
