Today I went to China Gourmet for dinner with a friend that lives nearby. He enjoys Chinese food as much as I do and were both on the search for a Chinese take out restaurant that offered tofu on their menu. I saw this place only had 4 reviews and what not, but had not only tofu items on the menu, but at a much more affordable price than most Chinese take outs. When we walked in there was one other couple in front of I ordering making it only 4 customers total inside the restaurant. We proceeded to order and I ordered 2 spring rolls, General tsos tofu, tofu and vegetable soup, and a small order of vegetable fried rice and the total was under $17. I will say that from the time I ordered to the time that we received the food about 30 minutes passed by. I also noticed that the restaurant was slowly filling up and they seemed to be somewhat understaffed because I noticed some ppl wait to even put in their order. I will say that both the prices and the flavors are awesome, but they could use some practice on time execution. One thing I can say is that the food took so long that you know it was cooked fresh to order as it also tasted like it. Again, the only reason I don't give it 5 stars as a Chinese take out is because it took so long to get the food. I highly recommend eating here just order ahead of time so you don't have to sit and wait for a long period of time.

The food is actually kinda gross. Was expecting so much better. I won't be reordering. The sea same chicken was bright red, almost like barbecue sauce was used. The crab Rangoon were the worst I have ever had. One bite and I spit it out.

We have been looking for a new Chinese food place, and this is it! I ordered take out and it was hot, fresh, and ready in a short time. My order was accurate and the portions were enormous and delicious. Reasonably priced also. We will be back!

So good! My favorite Chinese place near UCF. They give you huge (but inexpensive) portions and it's always delicious. The wonton soup and the chicken lo mein with veggie fried rice is my favorite. Some of the best lo mein I've had! They're quick with deliveries too.

If you're looking for that cheap/local Panda Express style Chinese food, this is probably your place. About as average as Chinese food can be. Massive portion for the money imo. Not fancy or authentic in any way.

Ordered for the first time the other night, and it was great! I worked at a wonderful takee outee in Jacksonville, Fl. and I have been on the search for a great place like that when I moved to Orlando! I'm also Chinese-American and my parents owned a takee-outee, so you could probably sense that I've had a lot of Chinese fast food and can be quite picky XD I cannot stand places with $13 combos- defeats the purpose of good, cheap take out. Plus, the last place I decided to try out was way too expensive and terrible! So I look for a place that's cheap but still delivers delicious takee-outee! In the past year, I've found two places I like, and this is one of them! (This will now be my go-to restaurant since the other place is an hour away from me in Pine Hills.) Their lunch specials are $5.95 with an egg roll or soda, and dinner combos come in two sizes- small for 6.95 or large for 8.95. Prices lookin good so far;) I ordered the Krab Rangoon, the Small Dinner Combo of Pork Egg Foo Young with fried rice and an egg roll, and Honey Wings with fries. Krab Rangoon were good. They are triangle shaped so they carry more filling than the star shaped Rangoon. It contains onions, which gives it a slightly sweeter taste. Personally not my favorite, but my sister loves them and I still thought they were pretty good. Fried perfectly to a lightly golden colour. I give them 4/5 because I wish they were stuffed to the max with cream cheese! Haha! Honey Wings were AMAZING. They cover it with SO MUCH SAUCE! Just how I like it! I like mixing the extra sauce with rice or fries. It does have a lot of honey, so it's a bit on the sweeter side, but still very good! And I mean, hey, honey is good for you, so why not? I also liked that they chopped off the wing tails. I appreciate the extra effort! The fries that came with them were meh. I personally don't like skinny fries, and they were on the oily side. I don't think they shook the oil from the fries enough before pouring them into the box. I'll probably get honey wings with rice next time and not the fries. 5/5 for the wings, 2/5 for the fries. The small combo was HUGE. Looked like the size of everyone else's one-size combos. Can't imagine how big the large is! The fried rice was GREAT! Lots of it, contains egg, and not salty.. would've wanted some bean sprouts in it though- it was my sister's rice so I didn't have much, but I couldn't really see any bean sprouts. Sadly, still looks like it's yellow rice though. The egg foo young was very thick, eggy, and not oily at all! Good amount of meat and onions in it! Personally would've liked more bean sprouts in it (again lol) and Peas and carrots, but still good! Only complaint was the gravy. It's different.. looks like they use more hoisin sauce than broth in it, so it has a saltier taste. Still tastes great with the rice and egg foo young, though, not too salty when eaten all together. I'd give the entire dish a 4/5. As for the egg roll, it was nicely fried, and generously stuffed with cabbage. Now, I'll have to ask them if combos come with veggie rolls r pork rolls, though, because I did not see any pork in it. Judging as a veggie roll, could use more seasoning. 4/5. So overall, the wings were my favorite and fries were least fave. Gave them 5/5 because I ordered some items I'm most picky about, and I was pleased with what I got- most places can get sweet n sour chicken right, for example, so I didn't get that haha They have great prices, and are generous in serving sizes! I will definitely eat there again. I'm so sad I didn't take pictures of my food before I ate it lol I wasn't expecting to make a review. I'm usually too disappointed to make one lol However, I'll definitely post pictures and update this review once I try more of their things. Try it out! I was pleased! They also offer discounts to students with an I.D ;) Added tip- don't forget to let the cashier know if you want the egg roll or the soda. She might forget to ask lol Last thing you want is a forgotten egg roll:)

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
