Looking for a taste of the Med in East Orlando? Why not try a taste of Turkey (the country folks) and, if you require it, the food is halal. This is a quaint little restaurant that is very easy to miss, but you may regret doing so. There is plenty of parking in the rear and very limited parking in the front. One thing I really liked about the food was the service. I really love it when you walk into the restaurant and they treat you like family friends. This is what customer service is all about! Everything we had was very good, and believe me we had a lot! Turkish coffee and baklava to finish off our night. Overall, a wonderful dinner and great people working and operating the place. We do not come this way often but at least now we have an excuse.

Great food! Fresh and prepared to order! I came here 3 days in a row during a work assignment. The lunch menu is very reasonable and the portions are more than adequate. Recommend this place for Turkish food!

Excellent little place with some of the best Turkish food I've ever had. Prices are very reasonable and the food quality and taste were way more than I expected. Highly recommend. We had the mixed grill for two and some hummus along with the "big bread". Can't wait to come back!

The food is okay a little over priced but the service is terrible actually probably the worst service I have ever received in Turkish restaurant the waitresses acting like they're giving you a favor by serving you they're extremely rude. First time i went there i felt so bad because they were so slow i wanted to help them by bringing in my friends and family there weeks in a row but they couldn't handle it now i know why they're slow because of their poor service when they get busy they will give you smaller portions. They served our food took them another 20 minutes to serve my kids I believe most if not all restaurants serve children first. I gave them four chances but never again. ..

Don't let the exterior frighten you. It might look like the front for a Russian mafia hideout -- hell, it might very well be -- and it might be located in the middle of a suburban wasteland somewhere off the corner of Colonial and Semoran, but the interior is quite nice and the food is phenomenal. There seem to be reviews complaining about the service -- so if it's really a problem here, I suggest going on a Sunday or something. We definitely went on a slower evening, because there was barely anyone in there. I actually found the service to be quite great. In fact, for a second, I thought I was living in Turkey in 1964, being cared for by a gentle mother who wanted to make sure I was eating well and proper before I head back to fight in the Battle of Tillyria. We ordered a sample plate of various meats and side items. Everything was filling, flavorful, and fantastic. Full of qualities that make make want to make my alliterative list of "F" words even longer, but that would be superfluous, and superfluousness is a quality of bad writing because it drags on and on and on and you wonder, where the heck is this going? Oh, what was I talking about again? Anyway, we ordered baklava without tea, which our motherly server recognized as a grave mistake. At no cost, she corrected the mistake by bringing out the tea regardless. I still have radiant, warm dreams of how good the combination of the tea and baklava was. Or maybe I was just caught up in the romance I was in at the time, and my recollection is obscured with nostalgia. Maybe the place is actually a total dump, and my memory of us together is what made the place so lovely. Well, let me stop this review before it turns into a genre blending of Turkish historical fiction and erotica. This place is good. Check it out for sure.

We ordered the sampler grill for two and there was so much food! Everything was packed with spices and tasted great. Even the rice underneath was tasty and full of flavor. We ordered the cheese Turkish pizza boat for the kids and they went crazy over it. It was enough for all three kids to eat and we had plenty of ours to give them as well. Once you're inside you forget you're right on Semoran and the servers we had were a mother and son.

I think it is very clear that based on food they are delicious! But service is unfortunately on the very poor side. No hospitality at all. For example, I was trying to ask about a drink that was new to me, and the lady told me, "you won't like it," and she walked away.

Got the cold combo, mix grill and bread, definitely enough to share between two people with leftovers. Some of the meat was a little tough but I would definitely get everything again. They were short staffed so trying to get a box and our bill took a while.

Very great food, my wife and I decided to stop by and have the sampler for two and we loved everything on it! It had more than enough food for the both of us, we definitely plan on going back. Would recommend making reservations as it seems they get busy pretty fast, but not necessary. Overall great place.

Turkish food is largely the heritage of Ottoman cuisine, prevalent throughout the Mediterranean reaching from Central Asia to the Balkans and even Greece, a remnant of the influence held by the long standing Ottoman empire of days past. The Turkish empire continues to expand even today, well, at least as part of Central Florida's culinary world. Cappadocia Turkish Cuisine took over the long time standing Cafe Italiano restaurant on Semoran Blvd a year or so ago. The interior is very much like what you would expect a Turkish restaurant would look like after minor renovations to an Italian restaurant - additions of hookahs, some paintings of Turkish seaside. Italy and Turkey are after all both Mediterranean countries. It kind of felt like walking into a Turkish family's dining room and, in a way, like crashing a family dinner as we were the only non-Turkish in the house at lunch. Several other diners all appeared to be conversing in Turkish with the owners - always a good sign for an authentic experience. Service here is a bit of a hit and miss, though, with some need of polishing around the edges. Sesame toasted pide bread - lovely, slightly sweet Turkish bread... The restaurant is named after the eponymous Cappadocia, the historic region in Turkey known for its beautiful rock fairy chimneys and rock cut temples, coming from a name of the ancient Turkic kingdom dating back to before the time of Alexander the Great. For our appetizer, my dining companion and I order the cigarette borek, tasty little cylindrical scrolls of pan fried Phyllo (shaped like tiny cigarettes) stuffed with feta cheese, savory and crunchy. Cigarette borek, stuffed with feta cheese Fried Calf livers from Cappadocia Turkish - a popular appetizer, but ultimately, not for me. For our entrees, I had an exceptional chicken adana kebab platter over fragrant rice pilaf with lettuce and tomatoes and my companion had a similarly tasty beyti kabab made with skewered lamb mixed with parsley and garlic. Our only complaint is that we wish we had more of the lovely skewered meats. Chicken Adana Kebab - Chopped chicken flavored with paprika and red bell peppers, grilled on skewers - $6.99 Beyti Kebab - Lamb flavored with parsley and garlic, then grilled on skewers and served with homemade pide bread and rice - $6.99 Doner kebab is a Turkish dish made of meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie, normally lamb but also a mixture of veal or beef with these, or sometimes chicken. The dish is also widely known by its Arabic name "shawarma" or the Greek name "gyros". The doner here is made by hand in house, rather than the processed gyro meats that we are used to at the Mediterranean stalls at the mall food courts. Here at Cappadocia, you can order your doner with rice or as a sandwich in between two slices of fatty pide bread. Make sure to specify which one you want. The lamb gyro (doner kebab) sandwich is now one of my favorite sandwiches, and also one of the most filling sandwiches I've had in a while with layers of sliced lamb stuffed in the warm, fluffy sesame toasted Turkish pide bread along with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, lathered with some spicy sauce and tzatziki. I would definitely return for some more Turkish delights. Turkish cinnamon tea and Traditional Baklava for dessert

The food was excellent, and the dinner portions are huge. I'm a simple guy and I don't need a lot of fancy gimmicks. This restaurant serves good food in a quiet environment with ok service. That's enough to warrant them five stars in my book.

2 words...Whole Bronzini! This was my first time to Cappadocia, and they had 2 whole fish on their specials board, Mercan and Bronzini. I opted for the Bronzini, because it's the one I'm most familiar with, but I hope to have the opportunity to try the other one day (which I just found out is a Sea Breem, which I had in a French restaurant in England once and I remember liking it too). I love eating whole fish (gutted first please). I even like it when they leave the back bone in. Bronzini, which is a Mediterranean Sea Bass, is one of my favorites (next to Spanish Mackerel and Red Snapper, to name a few) (see the before and after pictures I posted of the meal). The Bronzini didn't take long to make....maybe 20 minutes on the grill. It was the last one too, and the waitress said it was very popular the night before. We were there for an early dinner and were the first ones in. Two other parties arrived after us. The Bronzini came with a side salad, which was more than a side, but a meal in itself. It was good quality mixed greens, red onions and quartered tomatoes, with a simple olive oil and vinegar dressing. I found it just as good as the fish itself. There was also a side of rice pilaf, that was just OK. And the plate was lined on one side with sliced lemons, that I squeezed on both the Bronzini and Salad. The other time I had a Bronzini, in the Orlando area, was at the Greek restaurant in DeLand called Santorini. I would give Santorini's Bronzini a 10/10 and this one an 8/10. Santorini's had a better seasoning, olive oil and lemon mixture, that I still savor over 6 months later. The ambiance of the restaurant was kind of plain. I don't remember any windows, except maybe at the entrance and they were very opaque. The outside also wasn't very inviting. And the parking, which was limited in the front, but plentiful in the back, seemed kind of desolate in the latter, where I was almost afraid to leave me car at. The waitress was very nice and looked very familiar to me. Maybe from another restaurant...? I'm not sure. I hope to go back again to Cappadocia, especially to try the other fish.

I agree that this restaurant serves the most authentic Turkish food in town. They have many of the common staples served in Istanbul. Turkish food is so colorful and flavorful- there are so many kinds of dishes and vastly different cuisines are served based on where you are in Turkey. Cappadocia will allow you to experience the fusion of cuisines that tell a story of mixing of cultures for centuries. The chicken kebab was so flavorful- they take the meat off the kebab and place it on rice- so the rice sops up the delicious seasoning. The fresh baked bread with hummus was delicious. Very friendly owners, great service, food comes out fast. Its not in the best location and can be hard to see at night time.

Definitely legit Turkish food. My roommate is Turkish and even he brings his parents here. The kabobs are my favorite and the garden salad is on point. I also love the moussaka. It has a strong lamb flavor that I really like.

If you have not tried this place yet, you are missing out. It's easy to miss in all of the miscellaneous storefronts on Semoran, but worth the stop. Their hollow bread is fresh baked and fabulous. The cold combo, with hummus, baba ghanoush, lebne, eggplant, and tabbouleh is a great way to start any meal. We've been several times now, and the food is always tasty. So far, it's been pretty empty when we've been here, which is a shame. Thia is one of those hidden gem places.

A FIRST IMPRESSION IS A LASTING IMPRESSION - With that said I will let you know about my experience here today... Earlier this week, one of my fellow foodies mentioned Cappadocia and had raved about the food. I made plans with him to meet for lunch today and invited ALL of the members of our foodie Group on Facebook. 5 people confirmed and there were still a few that might show up last minute so at 11:30 I headed over there to meet up with everybody. When I arrived, a long time friend was there and we went inside to make sure we had a table big enough for everybody. The place was completely empty and when I let the young man know it would be 5 and possibly a couple more, he seemed panicked and went to the kitchen. After hearing a some shouting in their native language the young man and an older woman came out and we were told... "We have a large order and it will be an hour before we can serve your party." I looked at my friend and we realized that we needed to make other plans real fast. We walked out front and as I was texting the others, someone locked the door and turned off the open sign. At this point a few of the others showed up and we just made on the fly arrangements to all meet up at Saigon Noodle instead. I was really looking forward to some authentic Turkish food and from what I was told, their food is incredible BUT... When you treat customers like they are an inconvenience.... We will be glad to take our business elsewhere. I will normally give a place a second chance when I have a bad experience but this will be the exception. You can BET I will NEVER EVER return here and I will NEVER EVER recommend this place to ANY of my friends. If the place was busy and a large party shows up, I can understand an hour wait but with an EMPTY dining room, you encourage us to leave and lock the door behind us... That was RUDE and INEXCUSABLE!

Freaking delicious! Came here on a whim and left feeling very full and satisfied. My friend and I shared the Mix Plate meant for 2 people and it was perfection. It has a variety of different meats ranging from chicken shish kabob to gyro on a bed of rice, a salad, and two pieces of hollow bread. All the meat was marinated and seasoned so well! Everything was tender and very flavorful so it's hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to do so, I'd probably pick the gyro meat. The service is a bit slow, but none the less everyone is very kind. They just need to be more attentive to the customers. In total it was $29.99 split by two so about $15 plus tip. It was definitely worth it for the quality and quantity of food in my opinion. Next time, I want to come back for their lunch menu because almost everything looked like it was under $10! Such a great deal for the quality of food.

I must say, I'm never disappointed when I have dinner here. I've pretty much tried all of the chicken dishes which are all delicious (esp the "Chicken Adana")! I actually just got back from dinner not too long ago and felt it was the time to write this review haha Well it is a family run restaurant and they are very polite and sweet! The wife of the owner always checks on the guests/makes sure everything is okay so service is wonderful. Aside from that, the food tastes very homemade. I used to go to Anatolia (now Bosphorus) all the time, but I just feel it's not what it used to be anymore. Anyway, get the "hollow bread!" You know, the one that's all puffed up with heat, and once you open it -- aroma of goodness. Have it with some hummus :)

Great food, really liked everything we tried including the mix platter and the chicken kabob. The salad that came with the food was amazing. It is a bit of a hike from the Disney area but well worth it.

I took my two teenage sons here for a fun and different experience. The place is a little dated and nothing fancy. We had a nice waitress and I can't complain about the service. She took good care of us. There is definitely a strong Mediterranean draw and the food was good. We started the meal with hummus and bread and it was delish. I had the Iskender gyro and it was good. Overall a good place for an authentic Turkish meal.

Excellent! Read about it in Orlando Weekly. Came in to try it and was not disappointed. We were overloaded with food (some of which we didn't order) from the kitchen..."try this", "try that" they said. Lots of fun and great taste. Recommend the stuffed peppers..

Most authentic Turkish food in town. Their kebab platters, bread, hummus is just unbelievably delicious. Everything we've had here has always met a high standard. Very friendly environment. Always served fresh and food tastes delicious. Ambience is not bad too. They serve green tea in Turkish cups at the end of your meal, which is really fascinating

I'm reluctant to settle on three stars for Cappadocia, because I feel like a lot went well here, and I can see the potential for something better. Maybe lunch just isn't this restaurant's strength at the moment. Cappadocia's standard menu doesn't include the sandwiches and wraps, you have to ask for the lunch menu if that's what you're looking for. As tempting as the entrees were, I wasn't prepared to spend $16 on my lunch that day, so I decided to order a Cappadocia Shish sandwich with their homemade bread. We also split an order of fries (not included in the sandwich price), and a Baba Ghanoush appetizer. The Baba Ghanoush was excellent, and came with a side of that same homemade bread, which was warm and fluffy on the inside with a nice crust and topped with sesame seeds. The sandwich contained cubes of charcoal grilled lamb off of a skewer, placed in the bread with tomato and red onion. This was the main disappointment -- while it tasted okay and the lamb itself was delicious, there just wasn't enough of it. It didn't feel like a full meal. In addition, I would have expected some tzatziki or something similar in the sandwich to keep it from being too dry, but nothing like that was present. However, we were later given a couple of side sauces to try, and when I added them to the sandwich it helped with that. I feel like all of the components are there, and they're good. It just wasn't quite enough. I'd like to come back for dinner -- that menu looks excellent.

    1. Fast service because when i went in my bf and i were the only ones in there 2. I ordered the boneless chicken with rice and the chicken wasn't cooked well. 3. They took back the uncooked chicken and gave me new cooked meal of my choice. 4. Gave us free tea unless it comes with the dessert. 5. I had the rice pudding with cinnamon, and it was excellent. 6. NOT really sure how "turkish" the food was, it seemed like regular white rice and bbq'd chicken but overall the food tasted good. I'm from NY and the FL style Turkish food definitely tastes different!!

This place really is a hidden gem! The building is kind of old and the place is quite unassuming but once the food comes, the reason for the rating of this place is obvious. The service was good. We didn't get the name of the lady who served us, but she was very sweet. The food was delicious (chicken adana, chicken satay, and the rice pudding for dessert). Last, but not least, the price was reasonable. We will be going back here again!

Visiting Orlando from NYC and upon a recommendation from a friend, my family and I check out this restaurant. Not sure what to expect from this new discovery, we ordered: lahmacun, chicken mixed grill, lentil soup, salad and gyro. Simply put, mmm mmm good. This place hit the spot. Food not only came quickly, it was prepared to perfection. Juicy, tender chicken/meat with so much flavor it was delicious. Family run restaurant, owner, Mehmet who just moved with his family from NY two years ago, was very nice and funny, he took good care of us. His kids were also helping out with tables... Great positive atmosphere which included some upbeat Turkish tunes. Too bad I have to go back to NY, would come here all the time. Teşekkür (Thank you).

Stopped by for lunch a few days ago, and it was delicious!!!! I ordered Iskender Kebab - Gyro meat on the top of pita bread served with yogurt (it became my favorite one during my vacation in Turkey many years ago) and it exceeded all my expectations! It was super fresh with home made quality. I am glad that the hostess of that place convinced me that their own made gyro its not the same type of gyro we eat in the fast food places:) On a top of that, they served home made bread and super delicious Turkish tea and coffee. Everything was just melting in my mouth! Btw, the service was relatively fast for homemade dishes. Will definitely will visit that place again and again:)

Ate here for lunch and we were surprisingly the only party there based on the number of positive reviews. Despite of that, the food came out fresh and was delicious. We got the chicken kabobs, beyti (lamb) kabobs and moussaka, all of which were quite tasty. I can see why some reviewers complained about the lunch portions. Although we left full, we all cleaned our plates. Overall, the presentation, with all the food crammed into a small plate makes it appear that portions are smaller than they are. Service was very good as well. One knock would be that the place needed some sprucing up. Will definitely come back when we're craving Mediterranean food.

Hands down one of the worst places that anybody (other than Turkish and Caucasians) can go to. I took my Girlfriend here for her birthday dinner and it was the worst idea ever because of how this business is ran. The waitress was on her computer when we first arrived and she didn't speak to us until after 5 minutes. When she finally approached us, she had bad English but that wasn't a deal breaker (I was born in another country so I understand). The waitress then said something to the guests seated behind us (sounded like she teased us) and they all laughed (RUDE). After we said we wanted to dine in, she said we could sit anywhere over there (didn't take us to our seats or even give us a menu). Her English seems to be perfect when she is being rude! Then, she didn't ask us for what we wanted to drink. She just left us without a menu and took care of the guests who were behind us. She gave them menus and she took them directly to their seats. I don't remember if she gave them drinks or not but at this point, my girlfriend and I had had enough and left. I will only recommend this restaurant to all my enemies and any debt collector

Went with a friend and had stuffed grape leaves as an appetiser. They were quite tasty. I got the moussaka and my friend got the beyti kebab. I've never had moussaka before so I don't know if it was supposed to taste like this but it tasted kind of burnt and seemed to have hard charred pieces in it. I want to go back again but won't get the moussaka again. I didn't try my friend's kebab but it looked amazing and she loved it. Both dishes came with the same fragrant and delicious rice side. I'm not a fan of plain white rice but whatever they did made me want more. For dessert we got baklava. Nothing amazing about them. They were a good end to the meal. Three stars for now. I definitely want to go back and try something else, though, based on the other reviews and what my friend said about her meal.

Whatever you were thinking of doing tonight, change your plans to make time for visiting this gem of an establishment. Wow! Delicious, authentic food and impeccable service, along with great prices. What is there not to like? For appetizers, we had hummus with delicious hot, thick & crusty bread (SO SO GOOD!) and falafel w/tahini. For dinner we enjoyed the chicken adana (highly recommended) and chicken kabobs (also yummy). Then even though we were stuffed, we just had to try dessert. So we had baked rice pudding & baklava. Again both excellent. Very tasty with lots of great flavors exploding in your mouth!! The service was second to none--really exceptional care in this little family owned business. They care and it shows, both in their carefully prepared meals and the service. The location is a little unusual but do not be deterred--this place is worth the stop. And their lunch prices are even better--who can beat $4.99 for a homemade gyro?! I can't wait to return and try one of those. The owner took the time to talk with us and mentioned that he just opened and is waiting on his beer and wine license. I predict big things for this little place. Bottom line is that both my husband and I highly recommend this restaurant for awesome Turkish food.

Excellent prices and fantastic service. The outside is unassuming and potentially offputting, but don't let that stop you from trying out this place for lunch or dinner. They give you plenty of food with a smile. The bread and meat is the real highlight, I wasn't super impressed with the hummus or the baba ghanoush.

This was my first time eating Turkish food, so maybe I'm just a blank slate who now loves Turkish food, but this place is YUM. The lavas bread and hummus is an essential way to start off the meal, and from there, it just got better! All the food was delicious and unique with true Turkish flavor! The waiters were very friendly and knowledgeable and even offered us samples before we ordered!

  • Randy M.

As far as Mediterranean food goes, this falls into the mediocre category. For those used to only ordering gyros, hummus, baba gannoush and kebabs, this offers a nice respite to additional options. We tried one of the Turkish "pizzas" and the stuffed peppers (lamb-based). Both were pretty good, but not spectacular. We did partake in the traditional spreads (ex hummus) and were left a bit underwhelmed compared to others in the area. Some might also be turned off by the inclusion of bread as opposed to pita for the spreads. The best items on the menu (that we tried) were the Turkish coffee and baklava. The reason for the mediocre rating is the service. I realize this is a family business, but the servers (which appeared to all be ing family members) should be dressed more professionally and provide more attentive service.

Try the Mixed Grill- it's fantastic! If you are looking for a tasty, authentic Turkish restaurant, this is it! Everything is delicious and flavorful, big portions, great service, and reasonable prices. If you are in the area, be sure to stop by this quaint little restaurant and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Had lunch there with my 81 year old father . We both enjoyed the gyro. I will go there again. If you want to try something new, then give this restaurant a try. This is a new restaurant where Cafe Italiano used to be. Stop by and check it out.

It has always been a good experience here in this restaurant. The food is just so good and fresh. One must try adana kebab (lamb), gyro. The meat is juicy, soft yet well-cooked. The hummus comes with a bread which is so freshly baked with a touch of sesame seeds. I will visit again. Worth going here many a times for good turkish food.

Authentic Turkish food at a great price! My wife and I have been there a few times already and love their Lahmacun (little thin crust Turkish pizzas with seasoned ground lamb), Doner wraps and Ayran. They also had a great Russian salad but I believe they don't make it any more. The owners are very friendly and polite, the service is good, portions are sized right, and the food is halal. This place has quickly made its way on to our favorites list. :-)

If you are in the area and keen on something different, give Cappadocia a try. The decor is odd since there are no exterior windows and the bright lighting made it seem we were eating in a converted basement but the service was fast and friendly. I tried a Turkish beer (Efes $4) and enjoyed the honey-mead flavor. H. said the Turkish white wine (Cankaya $6) was good as well. The mixed appetizer plate at $14.99 was pricey but there was enough to feed 4. Most were good, especially the humus and the babba ganosh but a cubed eggplant was tasteless. The Chicken Adona ($13) was essentially chicken shish kebabs on rice and was tasty. The Lamb kebabs, however, while tender were lacking in any flavor. Very disappointing. Complementary Turkish tea was a nice touch with dessert, Firin Sutlac ($4), which was a generous ramekin of mild flavored rice pudding. With tax, the bill for 2 was $69.

Honestly, the best Turkish food I have had outside of Turkey. Great people also.

I just tried the new Cappadocia restaurant and I am impressed! The interior isn't much to look at, but the food and the service are fantastic. We shared the mixed grill, baba ghanoush and another really delicious cold salad (don't remember the name). Their Cappadocia bread was awesome too! There weren't any customers when I picked up our to-go order, so i hope more people find out about this place!

I'm honestly left without words to describe the food after visiting Cappadocia. In fact, the only sounds I can make in reference to the food are a series of salacious grunts and moans as I gaze upon a plate of savory grilled meat. Jesus fucking Christ, Cappadocia is so fucking good. Everything that the pudgy teenage waiter has brought to me has been a delight for the senses. The hollow bread? Good as fuck. The baba ghanoush? Good as fuck. The doner? Good as fuck. You get the picture. If you're dining with a friend, I would highly recommend getting the mixed grill for two. They also have this yogurt drink called ayran which, you guessed it, is good as fuck.
