I will start by saying you get what you expect at this place...hotel food nothing amazing. But, if you are in town and dog tired from working at a convention all day this is not a bad place to stop for a quick meal. I had the buffet and there are always a lot of options and a large salad bar. The food is just ok; so if you have the option and time get out and go somewhere else. This is very casual dining which again is great when at a convention. The staff is great all super friendly and checked on us the whole time.

I stayed at the hotel for business, noticed the place was not busy so decided to give them a try. We started a bit rough with no one greeting me for over 5 minutes, so I decided to grab a menu and seat myself. I asked a waitress working the floor if I could seat anywhere and she was so nice that I asked for her station. The whole experience changed from this point on. Tanya C knows very well what customer service is all about. She answers every question and said yes to everything. I didn't ask for anything special; latte with soy milk. You'll be surprise how difficult this simple request becomes a challenge at restaurants now days. The breakfast was phenomenal. I ordered the Club Breakfast; not greasy and quite tasty. It's being a long time since trying a great breakfast like this one. I'll be back for sure. Thanks Tanya C!!!

Had my morning breakfast from here. The eggs were runny, the bacon was soft, the sausages were the worst! It all tasted very nasty. For $21.00, I was ripped off. The server was tentative but was not worth the mandatory 18% included on the billing but understand that if tip is based on the quality of food here no one would leave a tip! They do have a good assortment of fruit.

I met an old friend for breakfast at Café Gauguin and the restaurant served its purpose. The spacious room was fairly empty, as the major event that was taking place at the Rosen Centre, where Café Gauguin is located, was ending on the day I visited (specifically, today). Service was prompt and the waiter efficient, if a bit less than personable. I ordered a cheese omelet, substituting egg whites for eggs and served with breakfast potatoes. The omelet was well cooked, although I am fairly sure I was eating eggs and not egg whites. The potatoes were also good, but I am not sure I could distinguish them from the breakfast potatoes that I have ordered at any number of other decent hotel lobby cafes. Price was high, but it was in a hotel so I was not surprised. On the whole, there is no reason to miss breakfast when staying at the Rosen Centre, but also no reason to make Café Gauguin a destination either.

Yikes! It is really sad that this is one of the main restaurants in a Rosen hotel. Service is beyond terrible- our waiter severely messed up the drink order, never came to check on us in the two hours we were there and if he referred to me as 'my lady' one more time I was gonna smack him haha Also, this is a huge restaurant and they were barely 1/4 full, with plenty of staff running around yet it took over an hour for our food to come out and another hour later we had yet to get the check. The menu selection is so bare, basically one fish, steak and chicken dish. Oh, and then they have a 'specials' list which IS THE SAME EXACT ITEMS ON THE MENU! The only difference is a soft drink with unlimited refills is included in the price. Granted, their main offering is a buffet, but it's $23.50 a head, and I can't imagine tastes that good. I had the three cheese burger which did taste okay, but nothing special and the steak fries were slightly under cooked.

We came here for a business lunch with clients during a conference at the hotel. It was horribly decorated--it looked like a scene from the cafe on Saved By The Bell (The Max)! BUT the service was amazing--friendly and fast. And the buffett was really good. Extensive, the food was full and fresh and tasty! Highly recommend!

Ok dinner. Fish and chips beer batter. Fish was ok, batter golden brown but for some reason batter underneath was raw or doughy. Fries were great. Fyi I was a party of "1" and they still added 18% gratuity. Now that was $22 and buffet was $24. Guess I should have done that. Next morning I got morning Buffet and once again food was ok. AND still party of "1" and once again 18% gratuity. Last time eating there.

This is the restaurant at the Rosen Center. Please note if you get takeout (anywhere in the hotel) you will be charged 18% gratuity (as well as dining in). The buffet is a pretty nice option at this location; I would recommend it over ordering off the menu (although the menu portions are huge and will likely make a second meal). The buffet offerings for breakfast included both hot and cold dishes. There was plenty of fruit and copious breads and pastries. I had the coffee each time I was there and it was pretty good. Lunch and dinner buffets are pretty similar except that the lunch buffets also had cold cuts as an offering. Both lunch and dinner offer an salad bar which is decent, breads and soups. The hot dishes offered during both service were very good- and the desserts were decadent. The restaurant itself is very clean. My complaint is that the service was kind of slow and non-responsive. I often found it difficult to track down a server to pay my check. The food is excellent; if service improved it would be great.

Over priced place, very greasy omlet (cut the oil omlet man!) the cheese was left unmelted - between that and the oil, it was tough to choke down. Oh and always a treat to find bugs on the pastries. Decent selection of fruit. I was told the salmon cream cheese was good... I just can't eat raw fish for breakfast most days.

Le sigh. I was looking forward to a hearty, Vegas-style, buffet breakfast. Sure it was hearty, but it was yucky. Scrambled eggs looked weird. Bacon looked weird. It was expensive for what it was. You could probably get better at Hometown Buffet.

Ordering off the menu for dinner, I tried their turkey burger, and I was very happy with it. Some places have a so-so turkey patty. This one was pretty good. Nice fries, good toppings aside it. Despite the restaurant being really dead (the convention I was attending didn't start for another day or so), service was only ok. For hotel food, it was good, but you're also paying hotel prices. The decor reminds me of a casino restaurant.. making it look more spacious that the room actually is. Still, nice and airy. My turkey burger: yelp.com/biz_photos/Nv_O… TIP: You pay up at the cashier's at the exit, and they can split a bill there, so no need to ask for separate checks. Just means that you have to stand in line at the cashier station.

We were given a voucher for the lunch buffet because of many issues we had with our stay at the hotel. Soups had thick skins over the top, tuna and chicken (not even sure if it was chicken) salads looked dried out, and there were flies flying around them. I saw a patron drop tongs and set them back on the buffet table. I grabbed them and gave them to a waiter. The only thing that looked edible was the prime rib. They had a cake that tasted similar to banana bread. That was the only highlight. No thanks. I would never have eaten here if we didn't have comped lunch

This is such a wonderful place to go for the Holiday Brunches. The food is simply put it magnificent. The staff is beyond great. We had Scott waiting on us and he really went out of his way to accommodate my mother which really meant a lot to her. They always go above and beyond. It is worth the price because you get high quality food that is always fresh. Not the greasy stuff that is usually in buffets. Best to make reservations a few weeks in advance to get the best location and seating time that you want.

The corned beef hash on the breakfast buffet has the smooth mouthfeel and distinctive luxurious aroma of Alpo.

Eating convention center food is pretty much like eating garbage out of a trash compactor. I have been to many convention centers and the Orlando location features some of the worst. That is why I usually take a quick stroll over to Cafe Gaugin in the Rosen Centre next door for lunch. They feature a terrific buffet for only $13.95 that has a combination of hot and cold foods, salads, soups, and desserts. The main course hot entrees on the buffet are also a little more on the upscale side as compared to most. The actual restaurant is big with lots of seating, and the service is friendly and attentive. There is also a full menu in case you want to order off that. I have never had a bad meal here or been disappointed with the buffet selections. Beats the heck out of the fried schmega burger plate with undercooked fries served at the convention center!

Although the price is pretty cheap. The selection of food is pretty limited.

Okay, this is one of my "little gems" on International Drive. Cafe Gauguin is a buffet (and menu service) restaurant located inside the Rosen Center on I-Drive. The buffet is only open on nights with conventions in town, or when the hotel is at high occupancy, so I highly suggest you call in advance. They are happy to let you know if the buffet is open, and what is on the buffet that night (it changes nightly). As buffets go, the food here is high quality (much better than anything you will find at Golden Corral or Ponderosa). Additionally, for Orlando "locals", they have an awesome buy one-get one free coupon for the buffet in the Orlando Entertainment Book! It makes this restaurant an even better value. This is a restaurant I highly recommend! Give it a try!

Went here for Mother's day--- lot's of great food! The mahi-mahi was superb, and the prime rib just right. They did a nice job with the charcuterie too!. The only miss was the desserts... key lime had sugar candy limes as garnish, never did find the tiramisu, velvet cake good, but all else just OK.

This review is for the Thanksgiving Buffet 2012. The buffet was fabulous! There was a large variety of delicious food. Turkey, ham, mashed potato, sweet potato, stuffing, salmon, braised ribs, shrimp, pastas, cheeses, Italian cured meats, mussels, clams, shrimp ceviche, lobster bisque/ potato soups, and a salad bar. The desserts were bountiful and delicious. They had assorted cakes, cookies, ice cream, chocolate fountains, mini pastries, mini shot desserts and more. The also served mimosas, champagne, and other beverages. There was a breakfast/brunch section with Eggs Benedict, pancakes, ham, etc. They even had a kids station with chicken fingers and things that kids like to eat. The servers were on point, making sure your glass was never empty, picking up dishes, and assuring you were happy. I spoke with a couple of chefs and they were really nice and answered any questions about the food (some people with allergies would find the chef being present very helpful). I will definitely be returning! The price was very reasonable and the food was superb! I may just go back in December for another holiday buffet ;). I've included the link for those of you who may be interested. rosencentre.com/holiday-…

I truly had no problem with the place. I came early and had the breakfast. I asked for the menu but I decided to go with the buffet. Great choices. Actually, lots of them. I went simple this time around. Eggs, sausage, bacon. But they had all kinds of choices. Plus included with the buffet is the omelette station. Great place. Awesome service. Not for someone on a budget. Family friendly.

Came in for dinner Saturday, and rolled out. Came in for brunch Sunday, rolled out. A bit pricy, but when you can put cajon chicken, prime rib and lobster ravioli on your play all at the same time, it is worth it!

Cafe Gauguin is our place to go for family celebrations or just a really nice meal. The decor is very nice with murals based on Gauguin's paintings of Tahiti. It is very roomy with high ceilings and well spaced tables. It is almost never crowded and is quiet enough to be able to carry on a conversation without raising your voice. The buffet is the best deal (especially with the Entertainment card BOGO) but you can also order from the menu. The buffet includes one of the best appetizer/salad bars I have ever seen. The selection of cheeses, fruits, shrimp and everything else you could ever want is amazing. The soups are the best I have had and the seafood soup is to die for. The hot bar includes a fish dish, a chicken dish, a pork dish, a starch and a veggie dish. These are good but, as with anything that comes from a steam table, I wouldn't say outstanding. Save some space on your plate for the excellent prime rib. The salad bar or the prime rib make this worth a visit just by themselves. There is also a pasta table but I usually skip that so I can take advantage of a dessert bar that would make the Dessert Lady hide in shame. Cafe Gauguin is a real class act and the staff go out of their way to make your visit the very best possible. When we leave we wonder why we ever go anywhere else until I realize how tight my belt has gotten. Must be something there that makes the leather shrink.

Not good for lunch the Buffett sucks. I found a hair on mine; however the breakfast omelette is really good.
