Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

This place is right along university where Perkins use to be. The layout is pretty open and has lots of tv's available if you are planning to use this place as a drink and watch a sport kind of deal. My hubs and I started off with crispy dill pickles. Came out nice and hot and didn't disappoint. When perusing through the menu, I noticed duck fat fries.. something I must try! So I had it upcharged with my burger. I got the Hotel California which included a fried egg! (yum) The hubs got the paradise burger that had shrimp skewers. The burgers are gigantic, creative and expensive. They load up their burgers with a lot of different ingredients or you can make up your own. It was pretty difficult biting into it without everything falling out. Plus it was 1/2 lb angus beef. The duck fat fries... I can tell you its probably not worth the upcharge! I really didn't taste anything different with it. I think its just buying into the name lol I actually enjoyed their skinny fries instead that seemed to be coated with truffle oil or salt. Anyhow, when our bill came, its a bit of a sticker shock for burgers and beers. Not sure I'd frequent here that often.

Amazing burgers and innovative sides I saw this place while I was arriving at my hotel located across the street. I was in town for business and it decided that I would try this place out for dinner. It was a Wednesday evening I arrived around 6 PM. Dining solo I sat at the bar. They seem to have about 12 different beers on tap and what looked to be 50 or 60 different brands of beer in bottles. They also have a full bar and wine list. I must admit after watching many different reality restaurant shows on TV I have become fond of places that concentrate on one type of food and do an excellent job at that particular taste. As the name indicates this place is centered on burgers and beer. They also have an assortment of appetizers, a listing of salads, a couple of different flavors of soup and some unique side items such as, "Duck Fat Fries" and "Mushroom Fries". It was a three-way tie for me, I was either going for "THE OCEAN" which is a Butter broiled Mahi fillet or the "WILD THING", a 1/2 lb.Bison burger or lastly the "SURFIN' U.S.A" a 'burger' with Chilled Maine lobster salad. I asked my bartender Jamie which one he recommended and he suggested I get the "Wild Thing". On the menu this burger is listed as 1/2 lb.Bison burger, tomato jam, and bleu cheese, on a brioche bun. I was a little leery about the tomato jam but Jamie insisted that it was delicious and he did ask if I'd like it on the side but I went ahead and went with his suggestion. He also suggested the mushroom Fries so I tried those as well. The beer I chose was the Samuel Adams seasonal which was Oktoberfest. Happy hour is until 7 PM so my draft was only three dollars for the pint. While I waited for it to arrive I attempted to watch one of the four TVs located directly above the bar. Whatever was playing on SportsCenter looked interesting to me and I asked Jamie if he could turn on the close captioning. He informed me that their system had no ability to do that. This is a huge letdown for a place with so many HDTV's present and should be addressed immediately by the ownership. For Wednesday night the place was doing a fairly decent business with an assortment of college kids, a few business people such as myself, and one or two couples rounding out the crowd. Jamie was behind the bar by himself and he was also handling all the bar side tables which to be honest was a bit much. Although he provided me with service that made me feel welcomed I could tell he was a little taxed with the amount of tables he had to handle as well as deal with the service bar aspect. I got the impression he'd be a great bartender to sit and chat with if he had a little bit more time. When my burger arrived I was pleasantly surprised with the presentation. True to the name the burger did indeed look like a half a pound which was great. The mushroom Fries turned out to be long strips of a super large portobello mushroom wrapped in some light batter and deep-fried. They were served up with a remoulade sauce that had a little bit of a bite to it but was quite good. I used a knife and cut my burger in half. When I picked it up I could see the layers of bleu cheese and tomato jam and a beautiful pink center. This burger looked to be cooked to perfection with a crispy outside and a pink inside just like I like it. When I took my first bite I'm certain that if someone was watching me they'd would have seen my eyes roll back in my head this was simply heavenly! The flavor was spot on. Even the bun was great soft and moist like they steamed it. I was pretty impressed and I really plowed through the first half without even putting it down it was so good. I was pretty full after I finish the burger and all but one of my mushroom Fries. I decided that I should try to settle for a few minutes and try something on the dessert menu. Have an assortment of mostly ice cream based desserts. I decided I would try the banana split. Although it is presented well and looks extremely huge I discovered that the majority of the large goblet it is served in was filled with whipped cream. The whipped cream itself is topped with a light stream of caramel and a maraschino cherry. It seemed like this dish contained one half of a banana. The ice cream that was used might have been freezer burned, as it had a peculiar taste. It was especially present in the strawberry which tasted extremely artificial and not very pleasing after the super wonderful burger and fries I just had. It was really a big disappointment. I didn't really have an opportunity to complain because of Jamie's busyness not that I would've done so since I was surrounded by other patrons but it really should be something that they pay attention to and perhaps give as much detail to the desserts as they do the burgers and fries. It is because of this I am going to reduce my rating by one category. Next time I visit I will probably skip the dessert, but I'll definitely be back the next time am in town

I'm currently burger drunk. These guys don't mess around - and with burger right in the name, I'd expect nothing less. You've got to rock a burger if you name your place after it. And these guys know how to rock a burger. The side salad is a huge portion, and you won't want to miss the duck fat fries. They are beyond ridiculous. I had the waygu burger and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to have another kind of burger again. Just not sure. Is it wrong that I want to go back here tomorrow?

Took my family on a Sunday afternoon. My first visit here. The menu was overly elaborate and complicated, the waitress was eager but obviously inexperienced, but with all that the food was top notch. Burgers, fries, rings, fried mushrooms, everything was superior in quality. We waited longer than normal for the food but it was worth the wait. When the staff becomes more experienced this will be a 4+ place. Lots if TVs and a nice bar.

1st, don't confuse this place for B & B Junction in the area which is completely different and I perhaps I made the mistake to think the were similar before going. While the service was very friendly and the place looks nice, I can't say much else is good about the food nor their craft beer selection. It was overpriced, not very clean, VERRY limited beer selection and the staff, while friendly, was just not knowledgable about their menu.

Coming from living in South Florida, I knew B&B when there were only a few locations. This B&B by the UCF area is decent, but the decor and ambiance a little different from the ones I am reminded of (the original locations). There aren't many TVs and it's dark. I will say that the food is spot on as usual though. Mustang Sally is the one I recommend to anyone new to this spot!

I was hoping that the curse of this University Blvd. address would be broken by Burger & Beer Joint but if my experience is any indication, they're going to need to bring in a priest for a cleansing. I visited the restaurant last Friday, right before 11:30 am. The hostess greeted me as soon as I got to her podium and then... I waited - almost five minutes, according to my phone. Now, if it was busy, I would have no issue with waiting but there were only two other parties in the entire restaurant at the time so I'm not exactly sure what she was doing while pecking away at her computer screen. Anyway, I was seated and then I waited again for almost 10 minutes before someone took my drink order. It was then almost another 10 minutes before I got my beer. The theme of this lunch outing was definitely "wait forever for everything." My party ordered three of the lunch specials, plus some fried pickles. The pickles took about 20 minutes and then it was another 30 minutes until our entree came out. All together, we were in the restaurant for about an hour and a half, which is not good for an area near a huge school and a lot of businesses. If the wait times are always that long, B&B Joint is going to miss out on a lot of business from people who only have the standard hour for lunch - and they can definitely forget about the 30 minute crowd. Our server was pleasant, if just a tad too eager. The food was mediocre. The chicken sandwich I ordered was bland; the lettuce was wilted and the sauces and guacamole were non-existent. The pickles were very soggy. The prices at B&B are ridiculous. My chicken sandwich was $7-8 - a lunch special - and came without a side. For two beers, a sandwich, and a side of fries, my bill came to $24. That's not really a lunch special to me; I felt jipped. By the time I got it, it was also cold. One of the beers I ordered was $9 and it's a fairly common craft beer. Speaking of the beer, their specials - at the time anyway - only involved Bud, Miller, Coors, etc. For a restaurant that is supposedly geared towards craft beer, that's ridiculous. In summation, Burger and Beer Joint has service that moves at a snail's pace, is overpriced, and has mediocre food. I definitely won't be going back.

My first experience at B&B Joint was in Miami so I was happy to see one here in Orlando. The burgers and food in general are amazing but pretty pricey- just don't go in thinking you'll drop $10 and be full. Great atmosphere and service!

Some friends joined us for an after-happy hour meal a couple of weeks ago. We had burgers all around. The guys all had beef burgers and were disappointed to find that they were overdone. I had a chicken burger and really enjoyed mine. This is a new location, so it is our collective theory that there's a 17 year old kid back there on the grill who doesn't know how to cook a burger yet. Management would do well to remedy this soon. Service was alright. Not bad, but not the most attentive. It will probably be a while before we go back, unfortunately.

Probably about 3.25 starts - They have been open less than two weeks. Yesterday, after 2 failed attempts to get BBQ beef ribs, We headed to Logan's but this place caught our attention. Not going to find BBQ beef ribs here but whatever...my stomach and spine were in conversation and I had to put an end to that. So the question is does 2 wrongs make a right? When we arrived there was a small crowd at the door, the place wasn't very packed and the hostess was seating people immediately. We decided to by pass that and go straight to the bar - plenty of seats there. We were immediately greeted and given menus. After seeing the prices, I knew that it would be a tough choice trying to find the best value for my $$. First, I can't believe that burgers would be so pricey on University Blvd this close to UCF, however, I digress. While I'm contemplating I decided to order the drink of the day, an Arnold Palmer (with vodka). A very good choice...it was $5 at happy hour but it was good so I'll let that go. Finally, after asking a few questions and being told that the mahi mahi was today's daily fresh catch, I decided on The Ocean. So the ocean, on the menu, consists of mahi mahi on ciabatta bun with tarragon remoulade, caramelized lemon and Kennebec fries. And of course lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. I ordered my mahi mahi beer battered and asked for the remoulade on the side. I was informed that all of the sauces came on the side. cool. We didn't have to wait long for the orders to come and everything looked good. The sandwich is huge...I decided to go at it open-faced...take the top bun home for toast (:P). When asked if I wanted anything else, I said "yes, tartar sauce" and I was told that it was on my plate. (wrong #1) Yeah, there was sauce there but since I had no idea what tarragon remoulade looked like I didn't contest. Later, my dining accomplice asked for more sauce and was asked if he want the tarragon remoulade or other sauce...guess what came to the table. (I'm sure you got this). So I asked the barista "if that's tarragon remoulade, why do I have this (holding up the sauce that was probably tartar but tasted more like mayo) instead of that?". She politely told me that I said that I didn't want the tarragon remoulade so she gave me tartar sauce instead. hmmm. I explained that I had asked for it on the side, not that I didn't want it. Any way, after tasting the sauce that my dining accomplice had, I was able to quickly tell her that it was okay and that she didn't have to bring me any. I didn't like it. Since I had her attention, I just had to say "I'm curious...if these are Kennebec fries...what do your skinny fries look like"? To which her reply was something to the effect of "oh those are the skinny fries so if you have them that means the kitchen was out of the others". (wrong #2). hmmm. She added something about not have a duck fat fryer that I didn't understand. About 5 minutes later, she came back with a serving of the Kennebec fries and apologized that the kitchen had sent the wrong fries in error. (Don't laugh) I didn't like the Kennebec fries (too heavy) - I think that the skinny were much better. So what's the answer to the question? My order came out with 2 errors but turns out that I like the inadvertent substitutes much better. The jury is still out, so you tell me. Overall, although I think that it is overpriced for a college area, the place is very nice and the food was good. There were a few kinks but I think that's normal this early on. I'm sure that I will be back to see how the "machine" runs when well oiled, but I may have to limit my visits to happy hour time though.

I had heard many things about this place but thought I needed to give it a try. Unfortunately, it lived up to what I had heard. It really is very pricey for what you get. I'm always on the hunt for a good burger and while they are good here, they are very expensive. Fries were crispy and tasty as well. Craft beer selection was average and when I asked the bartender about some of the beers he just replied that they weren't very good. Bartender was very friendly other than that though. Music was blasting on a weekday and made the place feel more like a club than a restaurant. With all of the choices on University Blvd. they will need to step up their game to beat out the competition. Better pricing and a little more work would bump this place up a star.

This place is so fun! The atmosphere was very much rock and roll, but held to a higher standard. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The cook actually came out towards the end of the meal and asked how everything was. The food was very good, and so were the drinks. We will definitely be back

Let me say first that I read through all of the reviews prior to trying Burger & Beer Joint, so I feel like I knew exactly what I was getting into before I went. And indeed, my experience mirrors that of many others: Good food, but it's pricey. I think that's the bottom line with this place. My husband and I came by on a day where a football game was playing but we were still seated right away and it wasn't too loud. Our beers were delivered promptly and I was offered a cold glass for my bottled beer. In fact, our server even asked me if I wanted her to pour the beer into the glass, which I thought was an odd but attentive choice (I'm good on pouring my own beer, thanks). We ordered 93 octane wings with blue cheese for an appetizer and they were brought out quickly. They're breaded wings, FYI, so pretty substantial and they hold on to the sauce well. The blue cheese on the side actually has large chunks of blue cheese in it--awesome. Usually you just get a cup of something that seems like it's probably ranch, but this blue cheese is for-real blue cheese. The sauce was good; not too hot, not too mild, we'd order these wings again for certain. For my burger, I agonized over two choices (Stairway to Heaven, with foie gras, or the Wild Thing, with blue cheese and tomato jam). I chose the Wild Thing and the server commiserated: "Oh, that's one of my favorites!" And it was a tasty burger. They're 1/2 pound, this one bison meat, and you could definitely taste the blue cheese. The tomato jam honestly seemed lost in the flavors, though. Lettuce, onion, and tomato are offered on the side if you wish. It was messy, it was big, it was tasty. I'd get it again. Oh, and the little seared "B&B" on the bun's a cute touch. My husband got the Sympathy for the Devil, which has chili, cheddar, and jalapeno. He ordered it because he thought it would be hot, but said it really wasn't. He finished the burger, then went to eat his fries and dipped them in a cup of what he thought was ketchup but was actually the habenero sauce served with the burger. We both assumed the sauce would just be *on* the burger, not on the side--at least not unless requested that way--and so maybe the servers should let people know that, hey, by the way, that cup isn't ketchup, it's your habanero sauce. He said he'd order the burger again to try it the way it was supposed to be, but without the habanero sauce on it, it was just okay. The fries were good--I got duck fat (thick) fries with an amazing garlic aioli on the side and the combination was fantastic. I ate every fry and could have eaten more if I wasn't stuffed. His thin (skinny) fries were good too, but I think I got the better end of the deal with the aioli. Dessert options looked tasty, including Twinkie "fritters" (I'm guessing your average fried Twinkie) and fried Oreos, served with various ice creams and sauces. We had no room to try any though. In fact, if we went back, we'd probably split the Wild Thing burger and get dessert. Why? Because 1) it's a lot of food you get and 2) it's expensive food. Our bill--for two beers, wings, and two burgers--was $70 with tip. That's a lot to throw down for a burger joint. We enjoyed the food; I'd gladly come back; but honestly, I'd come here waaaaay more often if it were even a little cheaper. Like, that Stairway to Heaven I was eyeing? It's a $25 burger. I know, I know, foie gras on it and black truffle aioli, but really, I could get a steak for that price and enjoy it just as much. As it is, my Wild Thing burger was $20. Did I enjoy it $20 worth? I suppose. It's not like I couldn't afford to eat it. But I'm a lot more likely to go down to Burger 21 right nearby and enjoy a fresh burger and shake for a lot less. The $70-100 per couple check feels to me like a classy night out, a farm-to-table restaurant, a great local steakhouse--not burgers and beer near the University. Service was attentive (in fact, almost too attentive; I think the servers are still trying to get a handle on how often to drop by and ask "Can I get you anything? How's everything?") As an ex-server myself, I know it's hard to get it right and I don't fault them at all, but maybe a little less "checking in" if the customers look like they're doing okay. The atmosphere was nice: roomy, clean, and well-lit. I wanna see you succeed, Burger & Beer Joint! Lower prices? Dinner specials--not just lunch specials? Coupons? Something?! Help me want to come back and try that Stairway to Heaven!

Great place to go anytime. The servers have always been extremely curtious and will work with you on custom orders. I highly recommend "Paradise City," grilled shrimp on a burger! Who would have thought this would be the new surf and turf. Good beer prices and fantastic burgers! A place that is truely worthy of its name.

I have been to B&BJ in South Beach, and as I recall, the experience there was quite pleasant. So of course I was excited to hear they were opening up near my workplace. But... I was a little leery because I also remember paying $15 for my burger in Miami. For that location, that's a bargain for a well-made burger. Not for the UCF area, however. My fears of having to pay too much for lunch were realized a few weeks ago when I went there with two of my colleagues. Three burgers, three fountain drinks, plus tip (which wasn't even deserved considering how much we had to wait to be seated and for our food)... nearly two hours later... $70. That's insane, and unacceptable. What is hurting this place is not the food quality per se (the Hotel California is actually quite good)... but it's the restaurant's exhorbitant prices given the location and the clientele it's presumably catering to. You can't expect to do well in the UCF area when there are: 1) College students with limited disposable income that far outnumber the amount of working professionals looking for food options during their daily lunch hour. 2) Far better burger options nearby. I'm sorry, but the signature burgers at Jimmy Hula's are not only tastier, but between 30-50% cheaper than B&BJ. Add a side order of fries and fountain drink and you're still able to come in right around what B&BJ charges for some of their "meatier" burgers (but with no fountain drink, mind you). You can even do Burger 21, Ruby Tuesdays, or Applebees and come in around $12 (including tip). And now... oh boy... with Bar Louie opening up across the street... they have some killer burgers as well... and yes, most of them cheaper than what's offered at B&BJ. May this be a fruitful outcome for all those involved in the "University Blvd. Burger War". 3) Right next door to 4Rivers, which offers some of the absolute best food platters anywhere... and for under $10. 4) Located in what seems to be a "condemned building." Perkins did poorly there, and Culpepper's barely opened. Maybe if they offered lunch specials between $8-10, including drink. That might be the right solution. Ultimately, B&BJ may have been a better fit for I-Drive or Dr. Phillips/Restaurant Row area. Maybe even Maitland, Winter Park, or downtown Altamonte. Not quite sure UCF was the right move. Only time will tell, I suppose.

Love the atmosphere and had great service. Had a tiny problem with my food but was fixed quickly by our waitress Elana. SUPER hero! No manager, no red tape. She fixed it and happily. Co manager came to check on us and appreciated the feed back. Great music. Really good experience overall! Check out the Mustang Sally burger. Grown up version of a really good juicy creamy piece of beef.

I recently went to Orlando to visit a friend that lives close to UCF and saw the famous Burger and Beer Joint. Ive heard so many good things about this place in Miami and decided to give it a try and Im so glad I did! The burgers are out of this world, absolutely delicious and the service and decor is very nice! Would highly recommend :)

Owners really put some effort into making this place look nice. Great burgers though slightly expensive ($12-$18 for burger and fries). Beer selection isn't as big as you'd expect from a place called Burger and Beer Joint but it's decent and the beers that they do have are high quality. Great service at the bar. Burger took a little while to arrive but that's to be expected so close to opening. Overall, I'm a fan. My only complaint is that they're not open until 2 every night which is a must on this part of town.

Service date 7/3/14. Well, I have to start saying that this location must be cursed. I have seen several business open up and close at that spot. We had gone to B & B once before about a month ago. We had a okay meal. I though overpriced but it was okay. Slow on the service I would say. My husband had a burger and I had a portabella mushroom one. We decided to go back this Thursday night (7/3/14). What a negative experience that was. I ordered an iced tea and my husband a beer. It took 30 minutes for me to get the iced tea. My husband's beer never came. The waitress asked the manager if that beer was available since it's on the menu. The manager couldn't bother and never got back to her. He was too busy sitting at the bar. He never approached us to see if there was any other beer he wanted. She seemed frustrated and lost also. At this point she takes our food order. I ordered the fish and chips. My husband orders the tuna burger. (WHAT A BIG MISTAKE THAT WAS). First I got my food about 45 minutes later. He did not get his burger at the same time I got my food so I had to wait until mine was cold. He tuna burger BTW priced at $20.00 was a huge disappointment. He bit into it and after swallowing it said there is something really wrong with this food. Cutting the burger in half revealed a grayish looking mushed up tuna. It looked, smelled and tasted rotten. No exaggeration but I have never seen my husband about to puke at any restaurant. We called the waitress and told her about what had happened. She took the burger back and offered another burger. My husband didn't even want to eat at all. The waitress pushed and pushed and said let me get you another burger and you can take it home. It came out another 20 minutes later. We took it to go. We got the bill and although he was not even interested in that last burger and she was the one who said that would bring it for him with an apology to take home we still got charged. The manager never approched us either. All this happening while another table was yelling at the manager for their food delay. It was probably one of the worst experiences. What a shame. The place looks nice but it lacks good management. Never again.

My husband and I decided to try this joint out, and what an awesome concept! The service was great, Ahi Tuna Tacos were to die for and the Burgers are DELICIOUS!! Clean environment, friendly staff and variety craft beer selection.

I hate to bitch like a Winter Park stay at home mom that has a nanny but here it comes. Concept is made for me burgers and beer. Problem is I am a guy that knows a lot about both. I ordered the mustang Sally with Havarti instead of Brie. I wasn't asked what temp I wanted. Didn't really bother me because I figured a burger joint would probably just give me a good juicy medium. I put the tomato onion and condiments on my burger and cut it in half. I am pretty sure I heard a muffled mooooo when I cut the burger. Understand that I am a guy they eats his steaks medium rare. Upon further investigation I realized the prosciutto that was supposed to be on this burger was missing. They offered a new burger but I decided to opt for the mushroom fries instead. The fries that came with my burger were saturated with oil and so were the mushroom fries. They have some good beers but even that isn't enough to ever come back. There are plenty of places to get good beer in the area. I paid for the hamburger that was completely wrong $16.99 most expensive burger I have ever purchased that I couldn't even eat. I did get a free beer and mushroom fries $10. There is definitely a curse on old Perkins locations in town. Those of you that know the Orange Avenue area know what I'm saying. I spoke with all three bartenders and they were all friendly that's the only real positive thing I can say. 2 stars only because the bartender that served me was nice and truly felt bad about my experience.

Not a very welcoming atmosphere. Manager is not professional, food is overpriced for being subpar, and their Tuesday Promotion is a rip off. Much different from other B&B's.

Went there for lunch...lonnnnng wait for a server to show up at the table and even longer wait for the food. A little pricey but the food wasn't bad. Sliders were good, turkey burger was burnt. Service was HORRIBLE. I had to go up to the bar to get a refill in drinks. When the bill finally came it was wrong and after 2 adjustments it still wasn't right. I would have paid more just to get out of there. We won't be back.

This place will obviously not last! We went here tonight, since we had received a pretty decent coupon. When we arrived, the place was relatively slow for a Saturday night. We were seated right away and greeted by our server to take our drink order. The prices were really high, especially since there are numerous burger places within the 1 mile area. Once we placed our order, things took a huge dive! It took about 20 minutes to receive our salads and soup, after the server told us twice it was "coming right out." It was not until our salads came out that our server noticed our drinks were empty (they had been empty for probably 10 minutes). When it did come, I asked the server to bring an extra plate so i could split my salad (which we told her we were doing when we ordered) and she brought me back a soup bowl! She returned with a salad plate and we just started eating our salad when our meal came! We sent them back, and asked them to bring them when we had finished our salads/soup. When we notified the manager, she seemed apologetic and offered to take off "a portion" of our salads. When they brought back out our food, it was obvious that it had been just placed under a light because the food was cold and the burgers were all over cooked. My "medium rare" burger was easily medium well, my husband's medium was well-done. The meat was dry and had very little flavor. For $13, I would have expected a phenomenal burger! At one point, I felt like I was chewing on sand...you know that gritty feeling if you get sand in your mouth? After reading other reviews, I think it may have been that salt in the burger. The "goat cheese" that I paid an extra $1.50 for was chewy and had no taste...obviously this was not goat cheese! My kids ordered chicken fingers, which, for $8 per kid's meal, I would have expected more than 3 chicken strips per plate. When my 9 year old asked for honey mustard and ranch for her chicken fingers, the server informed me there would be a $0.75 upcharge for a second sauce! We had to ask the server to bring out condiments, and she returned with ketchup and mustard in plastic picnic bottle! I would think a burger joint would have stock bottles at least. The kids were suppose to receive a scoop of ice cream with their meals, but this was omitted completely. When the bill came, we saw that the manager had taken off $0.75 per $4.99 side salad! Wow! Needless to say, we will not be returning. Burger 21 and Tilted Kilt are far superior and priced more appropriately. I will say that the skinny fries were really goo, as well as the bacon and bean soup.

Terribly overpriced, though they do offer a discount on food for UCF alumni. Both orders were not prepared according to their descriptions including missing sauces and the incorrect bun. The alcoholic milkshakes were fine, but they didn't seem to be made with the rocky road or cookies and cream ice creams like they should have been; the textures were very thin. The waitress was spacey, but nice. She kept needing us to repeat our requests. It took at least 20 minutes to get the sauce I asked for when my chicken burger was missing it. The sandwich was dry and kind of terrible. We won't return.

I really loved this place. The burgers are delicious!!! Mines was exactly how I ordered it - 1/2 lbs angus beef (there are different beef options) with grilled onions, pork belly bacon, Parmesan & garlic aioli sauce, tomatoes, lettuce and a mayo sauce. Kyle was my bartender and he made delicious cocktails. Service was great! I was there late on a Thursday night. Best place to try something new with a burger.

Very over-priced. The food was ok but the service at Beer & Burger Joint was subpar. As we arrived we were left at the entrance for a few minutes, and it was not busy at all. We were taken to a table and left there for a while with no service. I noticed while sitting there that apparently it was "Pimp your Burger Tuesday" so I thought I was in for a bargain...I thought wrong. The bartender wound up being our server and service got better once our order was taken. The burger I got was supposed to be 8 oz but it was so small it sat in the middle of the brioche bun. The fries were bland--even though they were fried in duck fat, what the hell?! How can duck fat fries be bland?!? Any way, this place is quite over priced, poorly serviced, and the food could be better. I don't recommend it. There are plenty of better burger places around.

  • Tom G.

Most burgers priced around $15-$22. Way too expensive when Jimmy Hula's and Burger 21 make a very good burger right next door. There are a good amount of options for - similar to Pine 22. Good beer selection. Personally I wouldn't go back, because dinner for two cost over $50 with tip and a drink. Just didn't seem worth it for a burger. Probably won't last as it is in the Bermuda triangle location.

This being my 5th visit, I wanted to do an update. Got the Pegasus turkey burger again and it was phenomenal. . . . not a fan of swiss cheese or sauteed onions on a burger, but together it was perfecto. Service was good, but as I've noticed it takes a while to get the food out. The upside is that you know it's fresh because it's so good, but with work schedules it's really almost impossible to do lunch here within an hour (I work pretty much across the street too). Today's server was attentive, but could tell she did not want to be there. . . seemed upset on the inside. She was nice, but very meloncholy. I'll definitely go back for the best burgers. . . just hope with the slower service and the higher end prices B&BJ sticks around. I'm now hooked!

One of the BEST burgers I've had in town. Probably would have never stopped but my UCF son wanted to try it and BOOM...it was awesome. The fried pickle chips were a huge serving, beer was cold, and burgers were top notch. I guess this gal from the 80's isn't too old for a burger joint by a university! I'll be back to try some of their upper tier burgers for sure.

Great Burgers, great deals, and definitely not as expensive as everyone is making it out to be. As my server explained, these are gourmet steak burgers, not just a regular hamburger. As for the beer prices, they're definitely cheaper than world of beer across the street. I used to be a student at UCF and even though there are cheaper spots around, I would rather take a girl out to this place and not come off like I'm a cheap date. Over all love this spot! good music, good booze, and great burgers!

Second time coming here; first time paying. Great service, pretty good food. It's expensive for burgers but the portions are good. I'd say go basic; not all of science goes well together. Seems to have good week day lunch and night specials so go then. The thunder road burger is great. After trying both duck fat and skinny fries, go skinny! They won't disappoint. I also want to try some of their beers; they have quite the list. The price is what brought my rating down.

Went back on Labor Day weekend. Service was as good as the first time with a different server. Food- I ordered the Ocean this time. The burger was very good last time; so let me see what the fish is all about. The fish wasvery "meaty" mahi mahi and had a very good taste. The bun was too big for the filet. I threw away half the bread and just ate the fish by itself. The Kennebec fries were awesome (skin on and thick)! My son had the tenders and they were just as good as last time. My husband had a burger and he really liked it. I can't tell you the name but it had some very spicy sauce on it. All was cooked well. Oh, we had the mac and cheese again-was not as good as the first time and was missing some of the topping but still good. Overall, kept the 4 rating! Thank you to the manager for acknowledging the reviews. We would eat here more often if burgers were dropped in price by $3-5. Try it---you may really like it!

Good food, good beer, great company. I couldn't ask for more. The burger with goat cheese, fried egg, and cilantro mayo was delish. The strawberry Abita was pleasing. Even enjoyed drawing on the brown paper table coverings with the chalk given to us by our server to write our names on the brick wall. LOVE this place! Only missing a star because I add to add salt to my burger.

This is a tough call. I enjoy the atmosphere, but was very underwhelmed with their draft beer selection. Also, our server was working in SLOW MOTION. Only checked in once or twice through our entire visit. Our food was good, but the prices are a bit steep. Don't think I'll be coming back with Burger 21 right across the street.

Went there for a business lunch on a Tuesday. There was six of us & it wasn't that busy yet it took over an hour to get our food. One of the meals was missing when the food came out & my burger was missing the lettuce, tomato & onion. I should have been wary when the waitress came back to ask how we wanted are burgers cooked 15 minutes after we ordered. The food itself was ok but not really worth the price.

Burger and Beer Joint is all right, but it is placed poorly. The Burger was a typical burger and the Fries were typical fries. The prices were ridiculous being placed so close to UCF. If they are trying to market to college students (i.e. "Burger and beer joint") then they need to produce college prices. Burgers should be a maximum of $5.99 not $8.99. Just to add cheese it's $2.00. I'm no math major but isn't price determined by cost to make plus 30%. I'm all for a burger place trying to be upper scale like Burger Fi or Burger 21, but it better be phenomenal, which it was not. I would suggest their main competition Burger 21 for a better burger and price. Lower your prices and I promise you your business will thrive. Lower prices = College Friendly.

My husband, mother and I decided to check this place out yesterday. We were quickly seated by the hostess, place was less than 25% full, but it still took about 10 minutes before we saw our waitress. We ordered drinks and the green bean fries. Drinks arrived quickly. I wasn't very impressed with the menu, while they have plenty of burger options, there's really no fresh options (a couple of salads with minimal ingredients.) This menu is definitely not tailored for women. They didn't even have fresh tomatoes as a "build your own" option. After we got our drinks, it was 20 minutes before she came by to take our order. The green bean fries smelled so awful I had to push them to the other side of the table. We waited approximately 40 minutes to get our food. In the interim, we could see others around us looking around for their server staff. It seemed like the staff would come out and then disappear for long periods of time in the back. The bison burger was OK, the regular cheeseburger was nothing significant and the blackened chicken salad had regular grilled chicken, no blackening or flavor. It took another 20 minutes to get drink refills and then we had to beg the manager to get our ticket so we could leave. We never saw our waitress again after our food was delivered. Overall poor service (although I did see the manager running around making apologies and trying to expedite food and drink orders). The staff disappears for long periods of time, they made no drink or food recommendations, and took too long to greet us. The whole ordeal took over 1 1/2 hours, and it not a very cozy atmosphere. For the cost, you can do much better than this place. They probably won't be around very long given their problems and the much better competition in this area.

Upon my second visit, I have yet to be thoroughly impressed. The first time I came, I thought it was just okay, but my fiancé convinced me to come back. The food is admittedly good, but the wait and the service is not worth it. Our group waited over an hour to get our meals and the waitress barely checked on us. I even heard two other guys who, as they left, swore that they wouldn't be coming back either. It's a shame, but maybe Burger Fi will do better when they open across the street.

  • Tom T.

Okay look, this place.....is alright. The burger selections were great and all but I really am not a fan or itemizing each component of a burger when customizing and having to pay FOR EACH of them (ie. a slice of cheese, what kind of toppings, etc.). The theme i gathered here was Sticker Shock in that the bill coming in surprises quite a lot of people. I say this because it's the pricier kind of burgers on University with Burger 21, Five Guys, and even Jimmy Hula's veering around. The food was good.....but not enough to warrant a second trip back. And No! Did not try the beer....I dont drink....straight edge y'all.....no judging though.

  • Will K.

Talk about overpriced and not aware of competitors. This place is within a half a mile of way more competitive priced options, which in all honestly are way better quality. You would imagine this restaurant would bring something to the table to make up for this higher price; the service is terrible and its a typical bar atmosphere which should have a $8 burger. The fries with the burger are pathetic resembling steak & shake.

  • Paul S.

I'm in the same boat as the previous review. If you're not a college student, you'll probably want to skip this place. Poor service and lousy food. I'm pretty sure this place will be gone soon anyways. Save your time and money and go somewhere else for a decent burger.

  • Jonathan D.

Well, overpriced and underwhelmed! Took over 20 min for our wedge salads to come after ordering...almost as long for a refill. Then burgers came just after starting the salads - sent those back... I think they sat under a hot lamp until we were ready, because the medium & medium rare were at least medium well. Burgers were mediocre. I make better burgers at home. The "apology" for the long wait for the salads was a "discount" on the salads... A whopping $.75 for each $5 side salad. Three kids meals and three burgers with a 25% off coupon came out to nearly $70. Not worth it with a Burger 21 right across the street and a Tilted Kilt and Logan's next-door at much more reasonable prices.

I came here with my fiance and we got the Sympathy For The Devil and the Hotel California burgers. 1/2 lb burgers come cooked to a perfect medium rare unless otherwise requested and sauces come on the side. The burgers were delicious and the server was attentive and super sweet, answering all of our silly questions. Also, DUCK FAT FRIES. Everything was a little pricey but if you are in the area and you want a great burger I would definitely recommend this place.

This place is so good. I went here with my grandparents and my dad and they were all extremely impressed with their burgers. I got the bison burger with the duck fat fries and both were perfect. They gave me a 15% discount with my student id which is a great thing to offer in this area. I checked in on the screen by the door and on my third check in I'll get a free app, desert, 20% off, or some other reward which is awesome too. Definitely coming back and bringing all of my friends

I ordered take out for my office, 14 meals. I was pleased that they took my order prior to opening and were able to separate and identify who each lunch belonged to. Major kudos for that! After the meal, most co-workers prefaced their opinion with "Meh." Most said it was merely okay. Many said it was bland. My fish sandwich was over-cooked until dry and missing the sauce and the lettuce, tomato, and onion; I got dry fish on a dry bun. The leftover mayo that I found in the office fridge didn't do much to elevate it. To be fair, one co-worker said the corn dogs and fried pickles were great. Overall though, it was disappointing in taste and quality. We're not students, we're professionals and still think the place it too pricey. Premium price needs to deliver premium food. Great ingredients were not used to their fullest potential and were rendered "meh." That's a shame.

I have been here a few times and have found things that I enjoy and others that I do not. I really like the 2 person band that they have on Thursdays as well as the drink specials that night. The band is always excellent! Each time I have been in here the service has been sub par. It usually takes a while to be greeted and get your first drink and some servers have no personality or enthusiasm. The food is a little overpriced in my opinion but, the burgers are good. I return mainly for the band and the drink specials on Thursday. If the band stopped playing here I doubt I would come back.

I think the burgers at Five Guys are better - mine honestly looked like a frozen patty. The deep fried pickles have beer batter on them making it hard to taste anything but batter. The shoestring fries were not very hot and the mushroom fries had beer batter on them. Prices are a little high - college kids won't be able to pay these prices. Give it a shot - you might like it. We are not going back.

One of the worst restaurants I have ever been to in the Orlando area. I would not suggest to ever go here. We ordered burgers, beer, salads and appetizers. The place was maybe half full and everything took a ridiculous amount of time to come out. My soup came out cold. They advertise medium rare burgers and all of our 4 burgers came out medium well. The taste of the burgers were not even good. The appetizers came out over cooked and mushy. For a giant bowl of salad they only give you one small one ounce of dressing and they charge you $1.60 PER dressing. The second burger we ordered took over 30 minutes to come out once the place was almost empty. When we asked for our checks it took over 25 min to even get our checks and when we spoke with the management team they didn't care or want to know why things were so bad. By far one of the worst experiences I have had in a long time. We are not college students and do not appreciate being treated like sub par customers. I will not be coming back to this place. To top it all off the restrooms smelt like they had not been cleaned in over a week.

THE BEST BURGER I'VE EVER HAD! I went to burger & beer joint for dinner on Thursday and it definitely exceeded all my expectations! As soon as I arrived I was greeted by a very sweet hostess, Liz. She walked my date and I to our table and told me how FAB my earrings were. Less than two minutes later our server Castia approached us and she was amazing! Her knowledge of the menu was GREAT. I ordered the tuna tacos as an appetizer and they definitely hit the spot!!! I later ordered a mustang sally and my date ordered a custom burger, both were beyond tasty! We had fried Oreos for dessert. Everything was amazing!! My date also bought a beer mug and received his first draft beer for free, and 50% off his second one. Burger & beer joint is pure food heaven!! I'll be coming back for sure. This is a must try spot!! You won't regret it!

Had to try this new restaurant to see if this is the one that will survive in this location that seems to change hands every 6 months. Well, I think this restaurant will be yet another casualty. We ordered the build your own burger and each of us ordered them cooked differently (none we ordered well). When they arrived not only were they all overcooked, they were not seasoned. The server seemed to be put out that we didn't order a more exotic combination but, that is not what we wanted. I feel that a 12 dollar burger should be at least tasty but, it wasn't. I am pretty sure I will not be going back. What a shame.

Outstanding food and drinks. Slow service for a Friday dinner. Some servers were more concerned with goofing off with other college-aged patrons than serving their tables. Our server did a good job once she was available. Literally the cooks were standing in the doorway of the dining room looking for something to do. The place wasn't packed at all (holiday weekend) so I don't know what the hold up with the service was. We wanted seconds on beers but never got it because the waitstaff was hit or miss. The chefs, however, do know what's up and the burgers are literally the best in town now. Once they get their staff on board that the concept WORKS and the food is worth the stay, this place will boom.

This is one of the finest places I have visited for a burger. The quality of their food and sides is just over the top and their selection in draft beer is not huge, but it's genius... Also, the place looks great and offers an inviting vibe to hang out with friends. This will definitely be THE place for me to go every time I go visit the area!!

A tough call, this rating. B&B decorates in a style similar to a toned down version of Oblivion, making a lot of use of red and black in the color scheme. There's a decent selection of burgers on the menu. They pride themselves on this, and in fact, if you're not in the mood for something grilled and stuck in a bun, you're going to have a hard time finding something to eat -- basically just appetizers. The main menu consists of a few beef burgers, a bison burger, a couple chicken, one ahi, one mahi, one portobello and one turkey burger. All of these proteins are available in a build-your-own-burger menu as well. They get a middle-ish rating on inventiveness. I saw nothing that was completely new to me, but there were a couple of standouts where I could safely say I had only seen it once or twice before, so that's good. Included in that list would be the Paradise City, which is a burger topped with cajun spiced shrimp, and the Stairway to Heaven, topeed with foie gras. The problem with the more unique options was their insane price -- a Paradise City runs $19 and the Stairway runs $25. I ordered the Thunder Road ($14), which was basically a bacon cheeseburger with BBQ sauce on the side, with skinny fries. The fries were okay but were almost immediately cold, so if ordering those, it might be best to lean on them a little heavier toward the beginning of your meal. The burger was delicious, cooked and seasoned nicely with thick, beautiful pork belly bacon on top. It was definitely a good burger, no complaints at all in that department. My wife was in the mood for a bison burger, but when she saw that it was $20 for a burger with just tomato jam and cheese, she declined. Even selecting the build-your-own option was something like $14 just for the 1/2-pound patty. Someone forgot to tell B&B that bison meat isn't particularly expensive or hard to find. In fact, let's talk about the build-your-own menu for a minute. First of all, none of the burgers on the BYO menu include a side, so you have to order your side separately (an extra $3). They charge $9 for just a basic beef patty on a bun, $14 for that bison burger. Then it's an additional $1.50 for cheese. Want a sauce? (chipotle ketchup, mayo, pesto, bbq, etc etc) 75 cents each. Then it's 50 cents per "basic" item (arugula, white onions, red peppers, pickles, etc) Bacon: $3 Chili: $4 You get the idea. This means that a plain cheeseburger and fries with nothing extra on it will cost you $13.50. The exact same thing at Oblivion is an even $10, and in my opinion it's a better burger (and definitely better sides!) It's hard to see any value in the build-your-own-burger menu at all. We did enjoy what we got, and the service was good. But I have to echo the comments left by so many others already: these prices may work fine for you back at the South Beach location, but you need to adjust your expectations when you're surrounded by student housing here in Orlando. Even with the approximately 40 gazillion televisions all showing the World Cup while we were there, I don't think more than four tables were ever occupied. This is exactly what Culpepper's looked like when we visited, and we all know how well that turned out. I wouldn't come back to pay full price again, but we got some sort of coupon as we walked out (I didn't look at it too carefully). If it's any good I'll consider coming back to use it. That is, if they're still in business.

A slow start turned out to be a good finish. We arrived on a Wednesday night at about 6:30 and the restaurant was about 1\3 full. We were greeted and seated right away. We waited for our sever for about 10 minutes before we got annoyed because no one came by to take our order, or even looked at us for that matter. We could see 3 servers congregating by the server station, so this aggravated us and we decided to leave. I decided that we would let the manager know why we were leaving before we did, so my review would include more information than we left. Manager Mark came out and we let him know why we were leaving. He was very apologetic and offered to comp our dinner if we stayed. I told him that was not necessary, but he could buy us a beer. He said he would and he would personally take care of us. I ordered a Devil's Triangle and my husband ordered a Torpedo, so they definitely have some nice beers to choose from. For dinner I ordered the chili since a recent trip to the dentist called for something soft. It was really good chili. It wasn't too spicy but very flavorful. My husband ordered the Thunder Road Burger. He absolutely loved it. The pork belly that topped the burger was so much better than regular bacon not only because it tastes better than bacon, but because it was thick, wide, and long so you got a piece with every bite. He ordered it medium and that's how it arrived. He upgraded the fries to mushroom fries. We both really enjoyed the batter dipped Portobello mushrooms. We thought a dipping sauce might be nice, but they were good plain. The prices are a bit high for a hamburger joint, but you have to take the size of the burger and quality of the ingredients into consideration. What started off as an unpleasant experience ended on a high note and we will return when I can eat burgers again.
