A coworker raved about the make-your-own salad bar here, so I decided to go for it. It wasn't worth it. First of all, it's expensive. A make-your-own salad and a small cup of chicken soup was almost $13. Second, the chicken was dry as a bone. My fork could barely pick it up, it was so hard. While the toppings selection for the salad is expansive, it's just not worth it. Make your own salad or pick another restaurant. The quality is terrible and the price is much too high.

So you are at Millenia mall and you don't want to stuff yourself with greasy chinese food or chicken niggets. What do you do? Well, the salad option is Bistro Sensation. Yes, is a bit expensive when you compare it with the other food court items, but then again you are not looking for greasy crap. And, yes..it cost about the same as a salad in a larger food chain restaurant (PF Changs, Cheesecake) but a) you don't have to wait an hour to seated, and b)you are not tipping anybody. So it is a bit expensive but you get a custom made salad right there...so don't complain. I obviously builded my own salad. The lady told me I could add as many toppings, so I did. In total I think I got like 10 toppings plus some grilled chicken chunks. I also loved that they had a wide selection of low-fat or fat-free dressings. They charged me $9.00 for the salad and rung it up as something else. Not sure why they did that but the listed price was $8.50, so I wasn't gonna fight them for .50c. My time is more valuable than that. But this is one of the reasons why I am giving it 3 stars. The spinach and toppings were fresh and the chicken was not dry. I wish they would beef up on the topping portions. I love tomatoes and cucumbers and I asked for an extra scoop, then guy barely place three additional chunks. I did like how they tossed the salad with the dressing. Most places just toss it on top. The guy who helped me added the dressing on the side and slowly tossed it around. The entire salad was covered in what I can calclate 2oz of dressing. So ..in conclusion...I would probably have this place again. It is expensive but one really has no decent choices.

So, I was thrilled to see a healthy option in the mall. Ummm. Skipped the pannini, opted for salad. . .kinda scared about the salad, simply because there was no set price. I was told the price would be based on what I put in the salad, but there is no limit to the amount of toppings I could choose. I decided to pick just a few toppings--none of them meat options, just because, you never know. So I get to the register and I'm charged for a chicken salad. When I asked about the charge, I was simply told, "I don't know." Which means that basically, I'm screwed. Not that the salad was bad, but for the money, I could have gone to Ruby Tuesday and gotten a feast.

Ouch, I want to eat healthy when I go to the mall but at what cost? Try $9 for a half turkey wrap and a small cup of soup. So your healthy options are limited when going to the mall food court. You can easily chow down on some grease dripping Chinese food, or load up on the pizza or Firehouse subs and top it off with some Mrs. Fields or Haagen-Dazs. And you would probably spend about the same $9 I just dropped on a tiny little half turkey wrap and a small cup of tomato soup. I wanted to give this place a try as the only alternative is Panera. Next time, I will be heading back to Panera.
