High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Stopped in for lunch otw to the great University of Central Florida always try to stop in for lunch every chance I get for some Applebees to get half off appetizers and of course half off brews we sat at the bar and greeted immediately by the bar tender she looked very busy handling all of the customers in the bar area. We ordered Grande Chicken Quesadilla, Boneless buffalo wings and wonton tacos. This was a huge portion for two since we did not even close to finishing and i got 2 for ones on domestic draft. All for about 20 bucks. Let me start with the atmosphere it is very neighborly and has a sports feel to it. I love all the local pictures such as knights, gators, seminoles, bucs, dolphins, magic it is a very unbiased feel but i love my sport teams!! Secondly the service was great and friendly and they were on point best part was food came out quick!! Finally food was amazing!!! The quesadilla was a large portion. Usually you get a whole flour tortilla folded in half and thats mostly anywhere u go. I feel like they use a whole tortilla but the cheese meat etc then olace another tortilla on top so you end up win two quesadillas. Great value. It also comes wiyh salsa and lettuce with sour cream. Wonton Tacos were great definitely not something you would expect from this place. The shell was crispy the chicken on the botton with great flavored coleslaw on top. Very asian taste for a not so asian place. Great experience one knock to the should be 5 star was the bar top was a tad bit sticky. It kinda bothered me but didnt affect my experience too bad. I understood it was a busy time and most likely a one time thing because i have been there many times. There you have it yelpers if you are ever in the area u must stop in!!!

Haven't been to an Applebee's in about 15 years. Recent experience reminded me why. No one at door when we arrived. It was easily 5 minutes before our server greeted us. Food took about 20 minutes to come out, a few burgers and some Mac and Cheese. All of it was UNDERWHELMING. I had the Mac and Cheese with some Chicken. Chicken was way over cooked. Cheese was oily. Wife had the Brunch Burger that came with a over cooked egg on it. Your money is better spent else where.

For many years, I did not go to Applebee's because of the mediocre food. Last night I ate here with a party of 5 and ended up wishing we'd gone somewhere else to eat. The 2 stars are for our server, Melissa J. Our order was taken quickly, she refilled our drink glasses repeatedly, answered our questions and made suggestions, and checked on us several times during our dinner. My sirloin steak had no flavor and the mashed potatoes tasted like boxed instant potatoes except that there were chunks of potatoes in them. The building itself is very dark inside like a 1970s steak house. Salt and pepper shakers were dirty, as were the tops of the ketchup and steak sauce bottles. Rest room was clean. With so many good places to choose to eat when I visit my daughter at UCF, I doubt we'll come here again.

This wasn't my favorite place to eat. The service was slow when it didn't seem too busy. I ordered the 4 cheese Mac & Cheese and it wasn't too bad. I wanted to add a side of potato wedges where my server suggested the mashed potatoes would have been better. I listened and I wish hadn't. Literally, after one bite of not very good potato, I would think they would have comped it for my wedges but that's fine, too. I feel like this could have been a better experience but wasn't.

It has been a while since I have been to Applebee's and it seems some good changes have taken place, the latest being the new Presto machines that allow you to order food, play games, and pay your bill at your convenience (and I'm sure at the servers convenience as well by acting on their behalf). The food was nothing spectacular but the price was good. Our server (could not tell name since no tag but receipt said Am B. not sure if that was actually her name) but she was pleasant and relatable. Only critique would be to pay a bit closer attention to when refills are needed since it did not appear that busy but her personality made up for that. Overall I give it an average mainly because the food was nothing to really write about.

Worst service ever. I come from the restaurant business and I am usually very understanding but this place takes the cake hands down. Ordered appetizers but didn't get plates. We were eating over our napkins. I ordered a hot tea that I had to wait 20 minutes for. And I could never get a hold of my server. Horrible!
(1)Don M.
I was always a fan , but Friday night that ended, the wait was too long because of dirty tables not business it was a birthday dinner for my grandson we get wrong orders ,bad altitude from the inexperienced waitress and very discussing night, one table had a nice happy birthday song ect.... we A PLATE DROPPED ON THE TABLE and a happy b day said to my grand son What a joke Management needs to take control
(1)Katherine C.
What terrible service this restaurant has!!! I would give this place negative stars if I could! I just called repeatedly only to have someone pick up and hang up the phone all 13 times until finally a male named Greg answered and told me that there computers are down and they're not taking any orders right now and then hung up on me before I could ask him anything else! How disrespectful and rude, if that's how you have your employees answering the phone I hate to see the rest of them inside the restaurant
(1)Russ F.
Great place to come after nine for half off apps., which are pretty big. Good service always nice and courteous, they do a good job even after a football game. You know what your going to get from these type of places so if don't expect to get a five star meal this Applebee's is great. Although they do have exceptional deserts.
(3)Sheri Fresonke H.
Friendly staff that works as a team to bring you your meal quickly and efficiently aids their normally good food. Near to UCF, it consistently offers me a good salad, my husband a good sandwich or pasta. Since we are fairly regular, the staff remembers our preferences. Management is good about checking to see that you've had a good meal--even offers or offered $10 off your next meal if they didn't visit. Most items cost about $10 and inexpensive shooter desserts allow you to be just a little bit naughty. My husband goes for the Stella happy hour special many times. Bar is popular with the local crowd, offering many fun events including blue moon parties.
(4)Stefanie M.
Food was awesome. I had the lunch combo - fiesta chicken chopped salad and chicken fajita rollup. Service was just ok.
(3)Jay M.
We've been coming here for years putting up with average food and horrible customer service just because it's convenient and the prices are good on appetizers after 10:00pm. Not anymore. Tonight we arrived and asked for seating for two. They tell us it'll take 20 to 25 minutes to be seated. We can understand the wait when it's really busy but we looked around and saw 7 clean empty tables and booths and no one ahead of us. The explanation we were given was that there were a couple very large groups still waiting for people to arrive. Ummm...ok? Do they plan on breaking them into a bunch of small groups and sitting them two at a table throughout the restaurant? If so...why? They don't accept reservations and to hold up half the seating in the restaurant to do so doesn't make sense. We decide to stick around just to see how long it would take them to figure this out. After 30 minutes, no one had been seated at any of the open tables. In fact, there were about 12 open tables now and we were still sitting there watching people come in, hear it would be a 20-25 minute wait, and walk back out. No apologies. No explanations. Just sit there and be ignored. I had to get someone's attention just to let them know they could take us off the list. I could forgive one bad experience but this is definitely not the first time we were treated poorly at this restaurant. Trust me, their mediocre, stale, half-price appetizers just aren't worth the frustration. There's a Four Rivers a few blocks down the road with much better food and excellent customer service that would be happy to earn your trust and respect.

I have been coming to Applebees for years. Different locations, but last night's visit left alot to be desired. It is probably the first time in years I have had to send some food back. I ordered the Bourbon street steak that boasts about it's cajun seasonings. Only this chef forgot to add ANY seasonings. It was so bland, I couldn't eat it. The waitress brought some Cajun seasoning in a bowl and said I could sprinkle it on my food. Ummmm, no thanks. I then had to wait another 15 mins till she returned with a new plate. My date had already finished his food at this point. Then to top things off, the skillet was swimming in oil. I literally poured the excess oil into my empty glass and mopped the plate with napkins before I could even try my food. Wow, what happened Applebees? I was severely disappointed last night to the point I don't think I will be returning. Service was slow and the waitress was probably better suited for a job at Disney with all the animated responses to our requests.
(2)Mike N.
Been here before back in 2007 visiting family & it was great compare to up north, now on vacation with my family I decided to drive up here from Disney resort area, into the no "Tourist Section" & as expected great atmosphere here!...The Host Patrick is really great the second we step in, on top of it making sure we had a great night here...Johnathan the server was also great! on time & always checking up to see if we need anything else, the food is still great at this location, people on the karaoke that was also fun listening while eating & drinking! Its way, way better than eating around the tourist expensive over rated location! I recommend this place to everyone who's around this section or anyone willing to drive away from the tourist section, and all this fun on a Tuesday night, yet it seems like a Friday night!
(4)Michael G.
Quite simply another restaurant that is on my list of ok food and beyond terrible service. Came in with myself, significant other and two boys. We are seated outside on the patio and have been here since 7pm. It is not just after 7:50 and we finally have been seen by a waitress after having to go back inside to find someone who looks like they might be helpful or care to ask for service. I understand that being next to a college means you can get whoever you want for workers at a cheap price, but it should not be an excuse to not at least train them or maybe teach them a little about service. Even being a Friday night, the restaurant is not severely packed enough to cause too much work for the servers or the kitchen. Looks like the bar is the only place that you can actually get great service and timely food/drinks. Which means this is the perfect place to get drunk next to school. Everything else doesn't matter.
(1)Nancy S.
I am happy to say Applebee's has returned to my favorites list, especially for lunch. They hit a rough patch a couple of years ago and we took it off the "short list". I have been here several times recently, including today. The service was very good, the food is fresh and tasty and the lunch specials are moderately priced. The only thing I miss is the veggie patch pizza. It was taken off the menu, but could still be ordered. Now, it is not available at all. It was a "signature" Applebee's item that I wish they'd bring back. Restaurants could learn the we'll pay a little extra for good food. I shop, I know food prices are rising and I don't expect to pay the same prices I paid a few years ago. Keep the quality of food and give me a reason to eat out.
(4)Takia R.
Applebees is definitely the place to go when looking to have a quick bite to eat! Not to mention after nine p.m the appetizers are half off! That deal wins me over all the time! The service is here is merely slow but with drinks that are two for one, an inviting atmosphere, the music playing and various sports game on all tv's in the restaurant keeping track of the time is barely an issue. The food is here is decent for the price! The staff is mainly college students due to UCF being in such a close proximity. While they are mainly college students that are very friendly and ensures that you have a great Applebees experience! Great place to go and have a few drinks or even just for the half off appetizers.
(2)Tom T.
Yeah.......lets see......uhh Nope. Just nope. Selections for food are common like in any other family restaurant. Nothing spectacular especially with slow service.
(1)Stacy H.
Good menu selection Bad draft selection Friendly staff Ridiculous waits Decent prices College crowd 2-4-1's all day & 1/2 off app's after 10 Not a family restaurant No thanks!
(2)Nieves R.
I had not been to Apple bees in like a year. The food both appetizer and meals were both served cold. I had to send my meal back to the kitchen because it was cold and they remade the plate for me. I also felt like their chicken alfredo was so plain.
(2)Ann Marie T.
I ordered a cesar salad with dressing on the side. My salad comes out drenched in dressing with stale croutons. After the server did not return for 25 minutes I was finally able to flag down a manager who told me he would comp my meal (which I did not take more than one bite of) but without any kind of sincere apology. He then proceeded to inform me that most chain restaurants apparently make their salads with the dressing already mixed in. First of all, if that were true, the server should have informed me of that fun fact so that I wouldn't be dissapointed when my meal arrives and my request was not granted. Secondly, does that mean that Applebees NEVER makes special requests for their customers that are giving them business? Lastly, I've been to Applebees several times and guess what? I've had my cesar dressing on the side every time I've ordered it! This was a horrible experience overall.
(1)Ligia H.
This particular applebees is horrible. The waitresses were rude on two separate occasions. The manager was flirting with the staff and there was a general sense of unprofessionalism. They changed the drinks, or at least that is what the waitress said. When I ordered a martini and it tasted awful, I asked for another one and the waitress refused and said "that is how it is made now." No apology, no desire to make it how it used to be made - delicious rather than disgusting. My daughter ordered a salad that was supposed to have blue cheese on it. There was no blue cheese - we searched for it pretty thoroughly and when we requested it, the waitress told us it was already on the salad and walked away. Finally, ten minutes later we were able to find a manager to fix it, since the waitress would have nothing to do with us. On another occasion, the waitress pointed her finger in our faces to tell us we could not order more of an item. Totally awful service and the food is already not worth much. My whole family has decided never to go back to this place.
(1)Ellen B.
Everyone know what to expect from Applebee's. But since this one is located right across from campus, it stays open until 2am with all kinds of half price drinks and appetizers. Sometimes it gets way crowded with college kids, but it's always a good time and the managers are pretty good about keeping the place under control.
(3)Mady P.
We will never go there again. The waitress was rude... She went down the list of what is available to drink. I said I would like a lemonade. After her speaking to my husband she said I interrupted her when I said I wanted a lemonade. Really??? Her customer service skills is an epic fail! Get some real servers with courtesy! Only got a STAR because I had too but DEFINITELY NOT WORTH ANY STARS
(1)Dee B.
As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with the scent of old and dirty carpet. The interior of the restaurant was quite dirty. Food was ok but chose not to take the rest home. Recommendation-find another Applebee's maybe one that has had a major renovation or just go somewhere else!
