Ehhh...the food isn't that great - tex mex on a so so level, but the drinks are pretty good; I mean, who can resist the bikini glasses right, right? Fri and Sat nights do see a lively crowd gather and I suppose that adds more to the fun, but factoring in the rather long drive to this place (for me anyway) it's just not somewhere I'm jonesin' to visit again.

Gross and dirty decor. Surly waitstaff/bartenders. Outside drinking. Cheap beer and margs with an emphasis on heavy consumption. It's an oasis in an otherwise sterile Disneyified area.

I wish I had been able to go to Adobe Gilas during the summertime. This looked like such an amazing place to spend a nice summer night, partying outside, noshing on chips and salsa, and drinking the night away. I went on a Wednesday afternoon in February while waiting to go see a movie, and so it was just my party and I believe one other having lunch there. Definitely try something off of the cocktail menu. I'm not a margarita fan but I tried some and it was actually delicious - and if I like it, it means you will absolutely love it. I had a sweet tea lemonade that came in a souvenir glass shaped like a scantily clad woman. Score! Who doesn't want to drink out of a hot chick? Oh, silly.... They have daily specials and Wednesday's, for instance, was I believe 'Wild Card Wednesday', which basically meant that you could get certain items for (lucky) $7 each... like chicken fajitas. That's a really sweet deal. I very much enjoyed my enchiladas and the fajitas were awesome, too, and everything just seemed to go very smoothly above all - from service to food to price to being able to eat and drink and still get to the movie in time.

We have to come here because the restaurant we want to go has a long waiting time. This place was not even half full in such a prime location. Once we enter, it took the waitress 10 mins to get us seated. Her service was good though. The food is average and prices are not that high. The atmosphere is pub like and noisy. great to hang out here with friends but not an ideal place for family.

I bellied up to the bar at Adobe Gila's at Pointe Orlando in advance of heading for a movie next door. If you set your expectations low to begin with, you won't be disappointed. In fact, the place is sort of kitschy and festive. There are high top and regular top tables on the outside. I didn't wander inside to check the interior. At the bar, there must a thousand one-dollar bills with messages written in Magic Marker by patrons, and tacked to the walls and all around the bar. I guess they are still legal tender. Looking around the bar area, I did notice an unfortunate attempt at humor, but it was simply puerile and offensive. The sign read, "Notice: Sexual harassment in this area will not be reported, however it will be graded." Funny, huh? Moving on, I had a Havana Dip with French Fries and a couple of glasses of cheap wine. It did the trick until movie-time, but next time I go to the movies there, I'll probably eat at home before heading out.

Great place for drinks. Food is okay. Service is good. This is the number 1 spot in Orlando for Cinco de Mayo celebrations. We reccomend using a restaurant.com gift certificate ($25 off a purchase of $40 or more - Alcohol is included!!!!!)

This was a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat. Food was good (if not a bit pricey for lunch). I would definitely go back!

A chill place to relax during the week and forget about the day. They usually have pretty good live bands playing during the week. However, lately the new bands have sucked. Great place to get drunk and hang out before a movie. And not have to worry about impressing anyone. Their margaritas are pretty good and cheap. I usually get them with beef or pork quesadillas, which are pretty good also. Don't bother getting anything else, as its not that good. Service needs little help.

  • Jay J.

Not a bad little dive. Had the chorizo burger (ya I know), wings and can't remember what my wife had, but all of it was very good. The crowd was a little rowdy as it was Sunday afternoon footbal and this place would definitely classify as a Sport's bar. Probably would go again if we were just looking for a quick bite. Outdoor seating is a plus.

This is one of the places I'd recommend to go for dinner around the Improv and not eat during the show. Fish tacos were good.. different. I had a lightly seared fish taco. They have happy hour until 7pm.

  • Max G.

First the good..short list. Great place to people watch. Outdoor seating. Now the bad. The combo fajitas came swimming in an oily sauce, the steak and shrimp tough, and the tortillas tasted stale. The drinks were in fact in small 8oz plastic cups and the 64 oz margarita, the ONLY reason I drove 30 min from Lake Mary isn't even offered anymore! Epic fail! Slow service average drinks. Next time leave early and head to Cuba Libre

Wow, even their motto tells the truth....."This place bites" Avoid this place at all costs. EWW!

I was a little apprehensive when I walked into this place. The decor was interesting. However I was a little concerned about the food based on the general appearance of the restaurant. I had the Ahi Tacos and they were really good. a business associate of mine had a Cuban sandwich and he said it was very good as well.

This review is for the Ale House, Hooters, Adobe Gilas since I hit all three. The Ale House was a fun spot with outside seating, cigar friendly, extremely nice waiters. If you start chatting with one, expect him or her to grab a seat at your table and talk with you. These are genuinely nice folks. They know their regulars (of which I am not, I in town on business) and they warmly embrace the regulars as well as the tourists. I didn't eat here because of the Yelp reviews. I agree that the food I saw delivered to neighboring tables didn't look very good, so I decided to go to Hooters to get some wings. Hooters: 10 minutes and no one came by the table. Girls were standing around chatting, cleaning tables, walking by. The place was a third full while neighboring watering holes were packed. So, I got up and went next door to Adobe Gilas. Zero for Hooters. Adobe Gilas: nice wait staff. Wings were ok, but the blue cheese had the consistency of milk. Conclusion: Ale House, get a new chef!

Is it summer yet? What drew our attention to this little place was the warm weather and a couple of dudes playing some acoustic on the patio. They were pretty good might I add, but it might be because I dig a little Jack Johnson rip-off. While we were only killing time before a movie, I enjoyed the laid back friendly service and atmosphere, but was a little disappointed on the food. To be fair, we didn't indulge in the main menu items and just had some chips and queso. The only way I can properly describe them were warmed up velveta and tostitos. We had a few pitchers of drinks and the prices were very reasonable for Point Orlando, so expect an update as we heat up this summer!

I recently rented out the entire place for a party i had and the staff was very friendly and attentive to my clients. I was continuing to get rave reviews from my clients the next day even. They seemed very well prepared and the food was fresh and tasty. Ill recommend this place anytime and look forward to coming back next year.

Great lunch. Highly recommend Cubano Dip sandwich. I may be the 'clueless' tourist, yet I know a thing or two about having a good time. Food and Service are very important but proper vibe is a must for a 5 star experience. In terms of lunch, beer and atmosphere, thumbs up.

  • Linda S.

tacky, tacky, tacky. Only drunk people would go here and only if it were raining and everything else was closed. Yep, that's why we ended up there. And, the place was empty and we left.

  • Andrew D.

What a wretched place. Perfect for clueless tourists. So-so drinks served in plastic cups and completely subpar bar food served with plastic utensils. All this situated in the sorry Orlando Pointe mall which is quickly becoming a ghost town with many of the businesses and restaurants shutting down. The servers all wear t-shirts that say "This place bites." I've never read a truer statement in my life. To top this all off, they charge you $1 to validate parking. How cheap and classless of them.

  • Clara S.

I love paella! The portions were perfect for fulfillment but did not overwhelm. My kids mac n cheese was To Die For!!!! Hubby had a burrito and loved it..... We did add hot sauce to our meals to spice them up a bit,... but I like having that control over my meal because medium spice salsa throws me at times. I will return again when I decide to hit a movie at the pointe for sure!!!!

  • Deirdre O.

I must agree with the majority. The food is not the best mexican I've ever had. If you've already been drinking before you arrive, and want to drink some more, and have a burrito, and enjoy a live band, its perfect. The atmosphere is relaxing. I prefer the outdoor seating. I am always drawn to the margaritas- they are pretty inexpensive.

  • Nicole F.

Another great place to come drink and listen to a live band. I dont really have anything else to say about this place because I didnt eat here. I know they will have the same great band playing there for Cinco De Mayo!! Go check it out!!

Great please fun drinks and great food, i dont know how anyone cant have a good time here. Kayt, and Parise were great servers, and very attentive and chatty with us, and I would go bacck there anytime i come back to orlando.

So, there are a few places that without superb food get 4 stars unless there is fascinating entertainment. At Adobe's that is definitely the case. This is generally our pre and post- movie stop thanks to some good sarcasm offered up by one of Orlando's best, Jesse. A Saturday staple, Jesse never fails to deliver a smile and great conversation. The chorizo fundido dip is bar none as is the double patron (citron+orange) heavy salt margarita with Corona. Saturday movies will never be the same without Adobe's so hoping this place stays around for a while.

Stopped by here for a few drinks with some friends. We were here on business and a company was hosting an event here. Its a really fun place with a great outside patio. They have two large bars with good bartenders that are quick and efficient. Friendly faces all around and Ive heard on most nights there is live entertainment. I dont know about their food, but the drinks are pretty strong.

After a 9hr day at universal at almost 10pm we tourist were exhausted and starved arrived at this place after parking in some plaza and hearing live music. Service was pretty good, food lacked a lot . Did I mention this was the only real meal the four of us had all day, not too hard to please. Started with chips and three dips , yes it's a Mexican joint but you pay for chips..go figure...hubby had burrito which he only ad half young teenager had ordered a cheesesteak w mushrooms and peppers instead got pulled pork she didn't eat but a few bites, olders teens had fish tacos said hey were good didn't like the rice and I had honey chipotle BBQ chargrilled wings that were great!!! And Mac n cheese was also decent....long and short of it tourist come here for drinks chargrilled wings and live music I wouldn't go back for a big meal again! I could have sent food back, honestly any other day I would have as a wrk hard for my money and feel I should get what I pay for but just to tired to fight over it this day and didn't want to wait longer.

I've gotta say, this isn't my FAVORITE place to grab some tex-mex, but it is pretty good. My boyfriend and I were down at Point Orlando to see a movie and decided to go to Adobe Gilas while we waited for or flick to start. It was a Tuesday, which meant $1 Chicken Tacos!!! They were pretty tasty too! I think they have some sort of special every day. While I would NOT venture to Point Orlando just to go to this place, I will go anytime I'm in the area! Also, if you pay $1 they'll validate your parking.

  • robert b.

Pleasant waitresses. their smiles make up for the plastic silverware and plastic beer glasses. I don't understand why any restaurant owner would think that these cheap accessories would endear customers to this restaurant. Quite the contrary -- I'll be looking for some other place to drop $20 the next time I'm in town.

great chill out place, good strong drinks go down easy!!! the food is ok if you are drinking too much with your friends. like their logo reads: this place bites!!! go check it out for sure...

As a native Texan, I have a honed standard for "mexican." Adobe offered eclectic and colorful decor and a promising patio, but ended up disappointing. PROS: colorful, 99c margaritas on Mondays, outdoor patio, medium price point for international drive ($7-13/entree), unique decorated dollar bill decor CONS: terrible food, understaffed (but cheerful) service, wobbly tall wooden stools that hurt my back DETAILS: i had the chicken and steak fajitas, the meat portion was adequate for two, but the sides of lettuce (iceberg minus its usual snap), tomato salsa (nearly a salsa), sour cream, and shredded cheese were both tiny amounts and lacking flavor. the meats came on a skillet of onions and bell peppers which provided the most flavor of the dish but even that was minimal. I ordered a $1 guacamole side which distinctly tasted of pre-processed or even powdered guacamole. Other dishes on the table included fish tacos, cuban sandwich, and fish sandwich which were equally mediocre. CONCLUSION: for drinks, okay, maybe drinks on the patio would provide a somewhat satisfying experience. But for a $15 dinner (plus $3 parking cash/check only), drive down the road and find something else.

This a fun little Mexican restaurant located in Point Orlando. They have a big happy hour party the last Friday of every month with great specials on Coronas and Margarita's. In fact you can get a huge margarita here that you hang around your neck, and they even have the strawberry variety. Adobe's has plenty of outdoor patio seating for some great people watching and a fun festive environment. My favorite day of the year for this place has to be Cinco de Mayo though. They really do it up right with an all day long festival with entertainment. Its normally on the Saturday before the big day. I would suggest checking it out for a great holiday experience.

My friend and I rolled off the plane from LA 4 nights ago, checked into our hotel and were starving when we ran across this place. Truthfully, if I had gone with my girlfriend, we would have looked this place up on Yelp really quickly and just as quickly walked away and tried something else. However, my friend made a quick decision, I didn't consult my Yelp app, and you know what? Everything turned out fine. This place definitely sticks out like a sore thumb in the Pointe Orlando area, which has a couple of nicer restaurants, but overall, it's just a normal bar that has okay food. We started off with beers and the 7 (9?) layer dip, which was pretty good. I was happy that they had Newcastle on tap, even if it did end up in a plastic cup. For my entree I got the garlic butter shrimp, which was perfectly cooked and a side of Jalapeno cheesy grits. The portion of grits was huge, but they were terrible, so I'd definitely not recommend those! My shrimp hit the spot, they were deveined, not overcooked, and had good flavor. My friend got the chicken quesodillas and said they were pretty good. Honestly, this place did the trick. It certainly wasn't mind blowing, but I didn't expect it to be. It was tasty, cheap, and I left full and happy. Our waitress was really nice, too, so that was a another plus.

  • Jamie K.

I have eaten here several times. The food is basic tex-mex. I think the quesadilla's are the best thing on the menu. They do have 2 for 1 happy hour on domestics. If you are shopping at The Pointe, this is a good stop for a drink and appetizer. If it's not blazing hot, you can sit outside.

  • Jennifer R.

Let me start out by saying I haven't always had a bad experience at Adobe Gilas but my last visit was not awesome. My major beef (no pun intended) with my experience last night was the service. They were either severely under-staffed, severely busy, or have hired a group of people who should look into other jobs. I understand Adobe's is more of a bar than a restraunt, at least in my past visits we have only come to have drinks, but that is no excuse to put out mediocre food that takes extirely too long to be served. As an Orlando resident I don't tend to go down to I drive, mostly to avoid the crowds, but it was my birthday and we decided to go somewhere we don't usually frequent. I won't go so far as to say it ruined my birthday but I'm certainly mad we ended up here over one of my more reliable spots.

  • Karla C.

I like the place because guests have the option to seat outside or inside. They have live music which is a plus . I sat outside in 60 degree weather with heater lamps , very nice cuz I am always cold. The singer was pretty good. The service really was not great. The waitress never came back to check on us. Another waitress brought our order , and we had NO silverware!!!!!! I had to go to the bar and ask for silverware. Drinks and food was pretty good.

    (3)
  • Evelyn P.

The food wasn't bad... Their shredded pork quesadilla was delicious. The .75 extra charge for BBQ sauce when ordering chicken tenders to start with is ridiculous. I guess you are supposed to have chicken tenders with ketchup. Yuck. Plus, the bathrooms need to be renovated.

  • Kim M.

Stopped here after dinner for a drink. It's conveniently located upstairs in the same plaza as maggiano's. We heard the live music and because it was Dave Matthews there was no way we were not stopping for a drink. We sat outside at the bar. It was the beginning of May so the evening was perfect in respect to the weather. The bar matron that took care of us was attentive. There is also an inside stage where a band was setting up. We did not eat here, so I can not speak to the quality of the food. Seating is very limited so if you come after 7 you may have to wait. DMD thought that the inside looked dirty and a bit "shady". There are so many places to go here in Orlando that given the choice I probably would chose somewhere else.

    (3)
  • Kevin N.

Hard to give this place anymore than one star when the drinks, food, and service all disappointed. Margaritas were okay but not worth the wait. The shrimp basket (Cajun garlic) was beyond salty that I had to peel off the breading and drenched it in ranch, and it was still salty. Service was slow and the server appeared to be extremely flustered. The only positive was the live band that played some pretty nice tunes.

  • Vanessa C.

Great atmosphere, weather helps a lot! Outside seating perfect for this evening, BUT, they do not have green beer on st Patrick's day??!?! What's up with that?? Service has been great and bartenders a lot of fun!! Nice happy hour though, chicken quesadillas are good on happy hour as well as the queso fundido, yummi! They validate your parking so that is a plus too! Nice music and soon to start a live band, ok, let's see how it goes. Cheers!

    (4)
  • Richard T.

Stopped in for a beer and to listen to the live entertainment, the beer was cold priced reasonable and the dude singing was pretty good. A great place to sit out side and watch people go buy.

  • Missy S.

Came here with friends. Had the chicken fajitas. They were very delicious. Place is pretty cool. Laid back, good music. When in the area would def come back. Staff was friendly.

    (4)
  • Fia G.

Service was bad. She didn't forget our silverware but I had to ask couple times for water.margaritas were really good. They have a live band which is a plus but then the music wasn't my genre I think if you're serving mexican food, should be on the carribean genre also not country music. FOOD were not good at all. Chicken in quesadillas and fajita wrap were shredded.I mean this is supposed to be cube or strip of chicken, like seriously?! I ate in so many mexican restos and I can say this is my least fave.

Not a fan...lets start with how I ended up here. ummm its the only place in pointe orlando on a Saturday that there was no wait and no cover ....now i see why. It took a minute to be acknowleged by the staff. So my crew and I just stood in the middle of the place looking silly. Finally, we were asked and then we sat outside. We chose outside so we could people watch...and to listen to the guitarist (which was amazing btw; about the only great thing about the place). We were only here for drinks as we waited for the comedy show; which is why this review will be short. DONT GET the drink specials. They are not the best. I tried the coconut margarita.....nope nope nope!!! If you are going to get a drink get something that doesnt require a pre-made mixer. That would probably be a minor success. As for the food, didnt get any like I said before but the fajitas smelled great...keep in mind this is a tex-mex kind of place. If you are killing time like we were check it out...

  • Tim C.

Great place to grab a bite and drink a few cold ones. The service was a little spotty, and some parts of the restaurant inside are a little cramped. Overall though I've enjoyed the 2 times I've been here.

  • Ray C.

So this place is at point Orlando, I've never wanted bothered to stop in this place before just because it looks hmmm Meh at best. This however coming from a long day of errands and fun things like Dave & Buster....I wanted to grab a drink. Well they had the heater lamps on in 70+ degree weather c'mon now 70 degree weather you got heater lamps on. The beer prices were cheap the margarita served in the plastic cup tasted horrible, but it is a great place to people watch.

    (2)
  • Miguel S.

I'm not going to lie; This is not a place that you would change your life. This is just a tex-mex joint that you could get some cheap drinks and food. If you're in the market for that; this is a good place for you. Sometimes I'm in the mood for that and I usually get the 1800 coconut margarita and try to avoid the house margaritas; even though the price is tempting. They just updated the beer selection to a have more craft beers in their tap. I like it. They usually have a cover band on the weekends and if you're with a big group you might get a kick out of it. The usual crowd is filled with tourists and convention peeps. This is really close to the Pointe Orlando Movie Theater and it is a good spot to be if you're waiting for your movie to start.

  • Sarah C.

Ah, if only I could give this place a better review. The food was good, but nothing to rave about unfortunately. What sticks out the most about this experience was the horrible service. So sad. Our waitress might have just been having an off night, but wow. We were basically invisible for the first 15-20 minutes after she initially greeted our table. ha What?! So there we sat ... in the middle of the restaurant ... waiting. And waiting. At one point we had to grab another waiter just so we could get the ball rolling and retrieve some much needed chips and salsa for our table. Here's to hoping we just came on an off evening.

    (2)
  • Melissa M.

Great happy hour specials especially when it's wing night! They are a great place if you are in the midi for Mexican but also wings because they have both Margaritas if you get two you will be just fine

    (4)
  • Aaron T.

I would never expect to find a dive bar at the Pointe, but this certainly fits the bill. They have good seating outdoors if you're looking for a good place to chill. Inside, I found the place a little "grungy." Concrete bar adorned with graffiti. Drinks are served in plastic cups. Service is mediocre. We did not have an opportunity to view or sample the menu during our visit. There was some good acoustic live music while we visited, so isn't the worst if you're looking for a place for entertainment - I've just experienced better.

    (2)
  • Ed Q.

The food was bad. The fish tacos were basically yellow cheese melted on a tortilla with some chunks of fish meat. The queso fundido invoked flavors of velveta cheese and pace picante sauce, ewe. Don't eat the food. We went on a recommendation for their margaritas. While cheap, they were also bad. If you can't taste the tequila, it's a bad margarita. I'm up at 2:00am writing this review due to an upset stomach. On the plus side, staff and service were great and if the margaritas were better, it seems like it would be a fun place to have a drink or two.

One of my stops when I take the motorcycle out to idrive. I like it here, but it's not busy like it used to be. They have live bands at night Tuesday-Saturday and that can sometimes draw a good crowd.

Service - 2 stars Food - 1.5 stars We were in Orlando for a conference, and Adobe Gila's was our last option as everything around our hotel was fully booked or closed for a private event. I wish I had just ordered room service. Yes - the food is that bad. The only good thing about this place is the outdoor seating. They have a section of comfortable couches where you can chill and enjoy the weather. After we were seated, it went downhill from there. The waitress took our order (we were a group of 7) and we ordered the following for appetizers: - Hand Crafted Guacamole - TERRIBLE!!! We couldnt even finish half of it and it comes in a very small bowl. - 4 dips: Medium Salsa, Refried Bean, Spinach Dip, and Habanero Salsa. Out of the 4 dips, only the Refriend Bean was edible. The rest were just so bad. For main course, I ordered the 'Baja Wet Burrito' and asked her to make it vegetarian. This burrito was so bad, that after 3 bites, I just could not eat anymore. The veggies were not sauteed, and just stuffed inside the tortilla. The rice and beans on the side were ok. Now to the service - it took our waitress 1 hour to get our appetizers.....yes, 60 minutes. How hard is to just bring the chips/salsa and the pre-ordered guacamole out? Her excuse was that a huge order went before ours, but were are talking about chips and guac. It was just terrible. I would not have cared if the food had been good. But we were not that lucky. There are tons of places around this area. If you are lucky and there is no conference around that time, you should avoid this place and try other restaurants instead. Thumbs down from me!!!!

  • Lori R.

Once we FINALLY got drinks and food it wasn't bad. Nothing thrilling. Really really didn't like being ignored for a long time before we were waited on. (especially considering we were trying to catch a show at the comedy club). Once food arrived, it was edible. Just think they could do a lot better, IF they cared, and it didn't appear that they did.

  • Susan D.

Snunk in here after seeing a movie. Both the drinks and food were sub-par. Our barmaid must have thought she was too cute to smile. The place has a beachy rock dive vibe. If you like rock music and guy musicians with past shoulder length hair you'd like this place. For me,,, not so much.

    (2)
  • Bill B.

The atmosphere was that of a local watering hole with all the characters you might expect. The food was some of the worst "Mexican" food that I've had...beans and salsa tasted like it was bought at Safeway...the service was impeccable though!

    (2)
  • Berry N.

Fast service and cold beer. The ahi fish tacos were excellent. Nice outdoor area with live entertainment.

Awesome House Margarita's..Love the outside seating...it's like summer in December for us Iowa folks!

    (5)
  • Steve M.

When we walked in there was an Elvis impersonator performing and that was the best thing about our experience. The musician that came afterwards was not that great. Not sure if live music is the norm or if it just happens on Fridays We sat ourselves. We ordered chips with 3 dips...all of which tasted like they came from a jar. The beers came in plastic cups. I ordered the mahi tacos and my friend ordered the wet burrito. My tacos in the Dallas airport had more fish on them and these were very bland. The rice and beans tasted like they came from a can. Don't come here for the food. They have a good bar scene but better food quality can be found at restaraunts nearby.

Awful food. Rude and slow service. Management doesn't care if their servers deserve a complaint from their customers. Top 5 worst eating experience!

    (1)
  • Jesse R.

I'll start by saying I have food sensitivities, so I'm picky for a good reason. Their slogan is "This place bites." I could not have said it better myself. We had a movie date and this place was convenient to the theatre. My wife had eaten here plenty of times before so I figured I'd risk it. Bad move. The only thing that seemed appetizing on the menu to me was a side of refried beans and a side of rice. They had burgers but I wasn't in the mood. I take one bite of the beans, and my reaction was visceral - I had to spit them out they were so awful. I let my server know they tasted quite rancid and asked what was in them; the server didn't know. She sent out some dude from the back, he didn't seem to know what was going on. I asked what was in the beans and he nonchalantly explained that they put "all kinds of stuff" in there such as pico salsa, queso and a "bunch of other things." After seeing that I obviously was unhappy and did not care for the food, they didn't even offer to get me something else. At that point I would not have trusted it anyway. Who the heck puts pico and queso in refried beans? Disgusting (at least to me). Refried beans should be a plain and simple way to get some protein without interference from other possible allergens. This place is full of land mines for those with allergies, despite the "gluten free" logos on their menu, so I recommend avoiding if you don't like "all kinds of stuff" in your food.

Decided to dine here recently before checking out a comedy show across the way at the Improv. We wanted something casual, fairly affordable and quick and this restaurant fit the bill. My husband and I walked in and there was no one to greet us. Just noticed waitresses buzzing around helping customers but no real acknowledgement so we seated ourselves. We were sitting for a good 10 minutes before we were approached and asked if we wanted food menus. Very odd. I guess people come here solely to drink? At this time, our friend arrived to join us. Once she arrived, service improved. Drink and food orders were taken and brought out pretty quickly. And our server checked on us, filled drinks , etc. I ordered the chicken fingers and fries off the appetizer menu. The serving was huge. More than enough for one person. They were actually not too bad. Cooked as perfect as could be and definitely fresh. They were piping' hot when I got them. Some observations: 1) the guy lighting a cigar in the restaurant and then walking out leaving a stench of smoke. Yuck. 2) Several of the waitresses were wearing sunglasses while working. Call me old fashioned but I find this unprofessional and almost rude. Almost equivalent as talking on your cell while taking my order. 3) the silverware is given out in paper and the ends are taped. Really?! 4) Invest in a good tv that is mounted to the wall. The tv I saw looked like it was pulled from someone's house and rolled onto a metal rolling rack. This place has a TON of potential . They need to work on the small details of the restaurant , the service, decor, etc. It looks cheap and ends up coming off cheap.

A divey-Mexican place, if I've ever seen one! The nachos were good and they had a nice selection on tap. Entrees were just okay--ordered a quesadilla and burrito. Service was good as it wasn't very crowded at 8:30pm on a Wednesday. Not sure I'd choose to go back as there are a lot of restaurants in the area, but would be a good place to grab a drink.

Went with wife and sister and brother in law. I ordered the burrito, so did my brother and law and those were good. My wife ordered the Mac and cheese but it was dry and she barely are any; also sister in law ate a pork chop that wasn't cooked all the way. They did take it back and cooked it fully but, that's a pretty big mistake. Server was apologetic, but damage was done.

I'd been to Adobe Gila's once before, years ago, for a friend's birthday. We just had drinks and it was a lot of fun at the time, but this second time around wasn't exactly the best experience. The beer selection is okay. They've got the usuals (Miller, Bud, Dos Equis, Corona) as well as a couple others (a Goose Island and Sweetwater 420), which is good for a Mexican restaurant, I suppose, but nothing like what I like or am used to. Food-wise, I had the bottomless chips and salsa (not bad, but nothing special, and hey at least it's only $1.50) and the mac-and-cheese skillet, which was good but could have used a more flavorful cheese mixture. (And once we added toppings to it the price was a bit much for the quantity.) Service was decent - could have been better, but could have been a lot worse. What really bothered me was the 'atmosphere'. They had a live band playing, and the band was BAD. As in, they sounded as if they'd gotten together and picked a bunch of 90s tunes and had one practice before playing at this bar. Also, we were sitting at a high top table in the back corner of the bar area. There was plenty of room when we sat there, but by the time we left the table next to us (which originally only had four people sitting at it) was taking up every bit of available space next to and even around us. Between them and the band the noise level was horrible and it took forever to get our waitress's attention because she obviously couldn't see us behind the crowd of people at that table. Needless to say, I was glad to get out of there when we were finally able to catch her and pay our tab.

My husband and I ate here several weeks ago and it was ok. The place itself is nice and has a fun atmosphere. The bartender serving us seemed like we were inconveniencing her when we ordered a drink and asked for menus. Her customer service was horrible. Hopefully if we do return it will be a better experience

The outdoor seating and atmosphere is great. Food is just ok. Drinks are descent. The service is just ok as well. All and all the best part about the place is the outdoor seating and atmosphere of the bar. Good place to have a drink and socialize.

I went here on 3/27/14 with my wife for dinner before taking in a comedy show. I will say that the service was a little slow. If you are in a hurry maybe think twice about this place or allow yourself enough time. While the food was good I am disappointed that I ordered a rare burger and received a medium close to medium well burger. The taste was still good but not what I ordered. I did not ask for a new one because time was running low and I did not want to wait. The fries are very good! My wife also got a burger not cooked to the temperature that she ordered but the taste was still good. I will be willing to give them a second chance and go back again. Just as a heads up we paid 30.00 for two of us to eat.

Dos Equis beer, Strawberry Margarita (for my lady friend) and fresh guacamole before the movie starts at 4:00. Nice place and atmosphere. The fresh, made to order guacamole was very good. A nice place to stop. We'll be back!

Food is good, but nothing to brag about (I've never been a fan if America Mexican). Service is terrible, and the crowd was pretty non existent.

This place has excellent margaritas and awesome fajitas. Everything I had here was delicious; the restaurant has mastered a certain and unique flavor that translates to all of their dishes. Very good. I came here with some colleagues since we were in town for a convention. It was so good the first night, we came back a second time later that week rather than checking out some other joints. BOTTOM LINE: Nothing here to disappoint.

Loved this place. We stopped here on our first afternoon in the area for our family vacation. We needed something that all 4 kids could enjoy and this totally fit the bill! My husband had the Cuban sandwich and said it was really good! 2 of our girls had the boneless wings and both enjoyed them. I had ahi tuna tacos and thought they were great! Our 3rd daughter had shrimp fajitas and loved them. I can't remember what the fourth kid had, but he ate it all - so it must have been good! Reasonable prices and good service - though they weren't crowded at all. Did I mention that I have a couple of picky eaters... Great place and we would go back!

Best outside bar on I-Dr. Great wings and good beer. Biggest margaritas in town. If you like tacos this is the place. The staff best in town too

This place has flavor and I'm talking more than just in the food, we'll get there soon. It has a nice funky vibe, indoor/outdoor seating, and regularly features live music. This is my go to pre-game spot before enjoying a night of laughs at the Orlando improv. yelp.com/biz/improv-come… You MUST try the pineapple curry wings (I prefer boneless but they have bone-in as well), can you say flavor explosion? They have typical bar fare with a Mexican twist (burgers, salads, sandwiches) but also other goodies like make your own loaded mac n cheese, where you can choose to add things like veggies, chili, shrimp, chorizo, and bacon. Drinks are non-expensive, they have a decent draft beer selection and margaritas are their specialty.' Honestly, I've never made a special trip just to come here but If you're ever in Pointe Orlando; stop in, have a drink, grab some good eats, and enjoy the atmosphere

Been here twice. One time for dinner and drinks and the other for just drinks. I wasn't impressed with my food when I ate here. Everything was just kinda blah. I felt like everything was rushed and not put together well. The second time my husband and I just stopped in for drinks. They have a nice outside seating area which is good for people watching. We ordered the Margaritas that were on happy hour special. Sadly the machine wasn't working right. I probably won't be back, unless I am with a group who really wants to stop in.

Adobe Gilas is a place to chill with friends and possibly, maybe, most likely get drunk while doing so. It's also a good place to hang out before or after a movie at the theater right next door. Their margaritas are pretty good (although I still prefer the one in EPCOT of all places), but their food is really not the greatest. The Texas Spinach Dip is decent, as well as their other dips. I think the problem actually lies with the Chips. They tend to taste old for some reason (maybe they really are old). The Fajitas are actually the best thing I've had here and my go-to food item on the menu. It's not the best in the world by any means, but it's still pretty good. The only dessert item I've tried is the Churros w/ Vanilla Ice Cream, and, um, not worth it. The churros tasted old (again with the old!) which makes the entire thing a waste. Therefore, the key to enjoying Adobe Gilas is to have low expectations, or go just to chill and have a few drinks with friends, or not go at all! You pick.

It was just an OK Mexican Restaurant. Food was good, I had the Ahi Platter ($14.95) but they charged me .75 for the wasabi sauce! My husband had the Chicken Fajita and there was plenty of it. Not the best Salsa....tasted commercial? Really didn't care for the Guac either...the two items we really need to be GREAT! Service was slow and we had 2 pitchers of Margs with our meal....that seems like ALLOT but the pitchers were mostly ice and we were served with plastic cups...ug! We did ask for glass and she did bring them to us. Probably won't be a return customer. Not very busy for a Friday night..hmmm.

I used to really like this place but upon my last visit not so much. Having outdoor seating and open atmosphere is nice. I love live music - even though the band was not necessarily my taste in music. I was disappointed at the staff there. They were understaffed for a Saturday night and the staff did not seemed to be too pleased that they had to serve us. I even detected an annoyed attitude from at least two of the staff members. When the band ended, no music was turned on afterwards, even when last call had not even happened yet. It is almost like they were forcing us to leave early. Next time I am at Point Orlando I will probably choose another establishment to give my business.

I would like to preface this review stating that I didn't think that I would be day drinking the day...but after a few drinks at the outdoor bar...I was glad I did :-) This is definitely a place to go on a beautiful, sunny day. It was almost like I was at a bar on a beach...unfortunately, there was not a beach in a 50 mile radius. Sitting at the bar, sipping on some drinks, and relaxing was just what we did. The bartender rocked. The drinks were great, he didn't bother us too much, but was always there when my drink was getting close to empty filling it right back up! Next time I go back I'm going to have to come to try some food. Not bad prices and worth the try. Definitely pick a nice day though!! SO WORTH IT!

Stopped here for drinks and app's on 2/9/14. 10 minutes after arriving a waitress showed up. We had margaritas and guacamole . Margaritas we quite good but the guacamole had very little flavor . We ended up using hot sauce to improve the taste. Half the chips that came with the guacamole were tiny pcs. not conducive to dipping. We decided to skip ordering lunch due to slow service and concerns about the quality of food we would receive.

Some reviews here are pretty bad. Our experience was very good. We had the $3 house Margarita (plastic cup, however) and a good IPA (real pint glass) for $4.25. Both of us ordered the Carnitas, which we loved. Interestingly, having been to some Cuban eateries over the years, the Carnitas were more of a Cuban dish than Mexican. The shredded, seasoned pork, yellow rice, veggies and plantains were very Cuban-like. That is not a complaint, just a fact. It was excellent! The menu was varied, with burgers to go with regular Mexican things like Fajitas and enchilatas, and other Cuban-like dishes. We sat outdoors, enjoying a nice early evening rain with our good food. We enjoyed our server, also. I will surely come back here!

Pretty basic Mexican dive bar feel, very large menu with basic Mexican food items, burgers, wings, Cuban sandwiches. I tend to go to the movies at Pointe Orlando and Adobe Gilas is just outside next to the Hooters, I went before the movie on 7/8 and really just had a basic Cuban sandwich which was OK, nothing spectacular, the person I was with has a chipotle/garlic burger that pretty much lacked anything chipotle or garlic but was decent enough. We got there a little late as I noticed they also have a "Sunday Brunch" special for $9.95 that is a little buffet with omelet bar also screwdrivers and mimosas for $2.00 each (though kinda tiny). Unlimited chips and salsa is only $1.50 anytime and various drink specials on different days posted around the bar. I will probably be back to try the brunch buffet now that I know it is there, the place is a little grimey looking but looks like that is on purpose as the rest of Pointe Orlando is pretty pristine. I will add to this review once I have tried the brunch.

I loved it. The atmosphere was great. This was my first time here and I was using a coupon. The waiter treated us no different. The food was amazing and so was the drinks. I loved the fact that you could write a not on a dollar bill and staple gun it on the wall in your place of choice.

We found this restaurant/bar almost by accident as we were walking in the Pointe Orlando complex on International Drive. We decided to give them a chance and are glad we did. We got a 64oz jug of frozen margarita for $18, with refills for $12, and it was tasty. Not super strong but decent. Service was fine if not exceptional. We ate chips and queso only on one night, but we went back and had dinner another night. We had the loaded mac n cheese with chicken which was very good, and also a chicken quesadilla which we enjoyed. There was live music each night and the guy was pretty good actually. There were TVs inside and a large outside seating area (beware of the smokers though). We had a good time and I would recommend this restaurant without reservation.

A fun place to go for good food and drinks at The Pointe, especially on a warm brisk evening after work and at night when there's lots of action. Located on the upper level, the place can get crowded and pretty loud. The outdoor bar seating is pretty cool for chilling out and people watching, very touristy. There's live entertainment on many nights. The menu offers Mexican and Southwestern food such as appetizers, salads, sandwiches, fajitas, tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. On a recent visit to The Pointe, we stopped here for drinks and food. The Captain Morgan & Coke was decent and served in a very small "Dixie cup." The margaritas and well drinks were standard. No complementary chips & salsa were given. The Mahi Fish Tacos (served with a saffron rice and black beans), were tasty and very good. The service was good and attentive at the bar. 3.5 STARS, rounding up for the neat al fresco bar atmosphere.

Ok, this place is next to Hooters and I think the wait staff is probably outcasts from next door or working there on an off day. I have a feeling this place is a hit during spring break. It is nasty, filthy and slutty. I don't know how a restaurant can be slutty, but it is. I think they may have bands play there from time to time, but the stage is nothing more than a 4'x4' ripped up, carpeted square behind a big screen, projection TV on a cart. Possibly to watch "the big game". The food wasn't terrible and drinks were decently priced. Our server must have had to attend to the invisible customers, because we were the only two in the place at the time, but it took a considerable amount of time to get our food, refills, bill, change, etc. Well, if for some reason, you feel like donating any more of your money to this shit hole, be sure to grab a sharpie, write something witty, slutty, college-related, cover a dollar bill and staple it to the wall/ceiling/booth/waitress before you leave. Orlando? This place makes it feel like WHORElando.

Great Mac & Cheese dishes and their cheeseburger quesadilla pleases our niece who is a picky eater. I like the outdoor seating and love the irreverent attitude; I just can't stand beer in a plastic cup, even Yuengling, so it has been docked a star.

Excellent service! Our waitress was both helpful and kind. The highlights of our dinner included guacamole, the pork ribeye, and buffalo shrimp. The southwestern salad was less than lack luster thanks to the cold chicken. However, it was still a delicious stop that I would love to return to.

Good food, good atmosphere! Great waitstaff, the staff (owner?) very talkative and outgoing as well as very helpful! Good burgers and fries, great wings, good nachos! Definitely would visit again if ever in town. We ate here a couple of times for our vacation in Orlando. We all liked it a lot.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
