A land remembered? This place should be renamed, A restaurant that should be forgotten. We went into the restaurant and waited to be seated. There were two hostesses at the podium, neither acknowledged us. After some time of them talking amongst themselves they finally found a table and seated us. When we were seated... more waiting. We sat there for about 15 min before our server came and asked us what we wanted to drink. We got our drinks and then he took our order. I ordered the New York Strip from the recommendation from the server. Our drinks were not refilled, the bread came after my friends ate their salads, and we had to ask for our check. I was extremely disappointed with my steak. I kept spitting out fat. For a $28 steak it was not worth it... The $7 value steak at Texas Roadhouse was better than the steak I ate at this restaurant. If you like overpriced fatty steak and terrible service... this place is for you.

um.... I don't really remembered what I did there but I do record that I was on land (not water). This is your typical steak house that is designed to empty your wallet and make sure that you exceed your expense account limit for the day. You typically won't remember much about this place after you got a severe beating from your boss upon submission of your expense report

I had an excellent dinner at A Land Remembered. I was in a party of six, and we had great food, fantastic wine and a lot of fun. After a long day of meetings and delays, I had to push back my original 9pm reservation to 9:30... and we got there at 9:45. No problem. The staff was so polite, courteous and understanding. I love the entryway in to A Land Remembered. It is a bit removed from the resort and you have to go through a long outdoor hall... if you're with a significant other, it's kind of romantic. Inside, the restaurant has a classic steakhouse feel to it. Dark mahogany, rich woods and perfect lighting. The bread service is fantastic. I ate a little too much actually. AND, they bring you butter in the shape of alligators!!! I loved it! We shared a few bottles of a Cabarnet... I can't remember the name of though, but it went down smoothly. For dinner, I started with their warm Romaine salad with goat cheese. I think it could have used some more greens, but it was very good. I then had their cedar plank salmon. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. For sides, we shared the collard greens (sinfully sweet and savory deliciousness), asparagus, mushrooms... and LOBSTER MAC AND CHEESE. I had two tablespoons of it, but could have eating the whole thing as a meal. Holy heartattack. Our whole dinner went flawlessly. Ok. The desserts here are off the hook amazing. While I am trying to stay away from sweets, I broke all the rules at this dinner. We shared the Cordial Ice Cream, bread pudding and their chocolate mousse cake. I can't tell you which one I liked best because they were all spectacular. While I did not have the steak, a client of mine dined here twice during the trip, and had their lamb chops twice because they were so good. If you are staying at the Rosen Shingle Creek, this is the best restaurant on the property.

Great restaurant! The filet was amazing and the wine recommendation was perfect. Great place to eat!

Sorry to say I was a little disappointed in my meal. We had five star service but my fish tastes very fishy and wasn't very edible. That said my alligator stew was fabulous and so was the grilled salad. I tried some of my friends filet and it was very good. So the moral of the story which I already know is eat the specialty of the house. When in a steakhouse - eat steak!!

Beautiful place with excellent service. As far as food goes, it was okay, nothing special. If I'm in the tourist corridor, I'd rather visit The Venetian Room. They did offer us a Florida discount of 25% after I asked to have my valet ticket validated. Nice touch.

Best dining decision whilst at Rosen Shingle Creek! We were looking for a nice restaurant for a business dinner, and I picked A Land Remembered - partially because it was the nicest restaurant at the Resort... and because it was at the resort! We could have taken an Uber offsite and whatnot, but the convenience and the great reviews lured us in. We made a reservation a few weeks in advance, and I'm glad we did. We were a party of 6 - so not huge, but for a round table, there aren't many. I'm not familiar with the book A Land Remembered, but that's how the restaurant got its name. I'm presuming that the book looks something like the menu does: leatherbound, metal plaque, etc. Pretty hefty. There is a room for private dining, which looks lovely, almost as soon as you walk in. If you have a need for an intimate dinner, I'd definitely recommend it. And now for a few points: Service: Top notch! Our server was always available, had very detailed knowledge of the menu, and knew her wines. My manager had asked several in-depth questions about the wines, and she was able to answer all of them. Food: DELICIOUS! Oh, yum, yum! I had a catered meal at the resort another night (and had steak), and it just did NOT compare to what was served at A Land Remembered. At A Land Remembered, we started with the mixed appetizer platter. A lot of the stuff on it was fishy - which I don't eat - but the melted brie was yummy. I used it on on the cheese bread that they served, and that was nice. I ordered the 8 oz filet and it was divine! Probably one of the top five steaks I've ever eaten (#1 - Chop House in Palm Spring, #2 - Mastro's in Costa Mesa, #3 - Gulliver's in Irvine...) Served with a full head of garlic, you can "customize" the flavor. No need for any sauces - absolutely lovely! All of the sizes are a la carte, and served family style. Seasonal mushrooms were my favorite, but we also ordered the collard greens, asparagus, and I believe one or two other things that escape me. I'm filling up just thinking about the meal! I'm sure that the desserts would have been scrumptious, but unfortunately, no room left in my tummy!

Really disappointed here when I dropped by for lunch. Looking back I don't think there is one positive thing I can say about this place based upon my experience. It went south right away when we found ourselves waiting five minutes at the hostess stand to be seated. When she finally did appear, there was no apology or explanation offered. The place looked to be about half full but perhaps they were short staffed? We did get our drinks ordered and delivered quickly (ok one good thing) but from there it took 50 minutes for us to get our food ordered and out from the kitchen. I went with the sliders and my table mates both got the grouper sandwich. My sliders arrived luke warm at best, had stale buns, were overcooked and lack any flavor. As a side, I picked homemade chips that were cold, not crispy and again not really tasty. At this point, we were late to get back from lunch or I would have sent everything back. Service was spotty throughout with my water glass going empty on two occasions and no real feedback on why things were so slow. Sorry to say you can do much better than here and this will be a land soon forgotten.

This place is class, all the way! What a great dining experience! We made reservations for two, and were immediately seated upon arrival. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. The decor is modeled after the book "A Land Remembered" - old Florida. We received delicious fresh baked rolled with a dollop of melted Asiago cheese on top. The butter was shaped like a Florida gator - cool touch! As an appetizer we ordered the crab cake, which was unquestionably fresh crab, all the way, with very little cake filler! Guys, seriously, I dream about these crab cakes with their delicious aoli sauce. For the main dish I ordered the maple pecan crusted chicken breast with collard greens, super savory and Delish! Being a super foodie we also wanted to try the lobster mac, which lived up to its expectation! Lumps of lobster throughout the entire dish, topped with sharp cheddar cheese and bread crumbs! I can not say enough about this place! Such a unique dining experience!

Our experience with A Land Remembered is pretty mixed. Our main waiter left a lot to be desired, but the waiter who was helping his area was fantastic. Overall, the appetizers and sides were decent. The frog legs and diver scallops (blackened) deserved a four, maybe five. On the other hand, the porterhouse (at $50+ dollars) that we ordered as medium rare to share could have been cooked by a new chef (aka, an eight-year-old). We sent it back once due to uneven cooking, which was medium well-to-well throughout the cut. Before accepting our request, the server insisted that the meat was cut across the filet to see if it was medium rare, which is insulting to say the least. Nicely put, the second steak suggests that the restaurant may want to invest time in selecting a new butcher at the very least. This meal was not worth the time nor money spent. If offered to return, even with a fully compensated meal, we would politely decline.

What a great place to dine with friends. This restaurant, in the Rosen Shingle Resort, is among the best in the area, which is why, we could not believe how empty it was on a Friday evening. It certainly wasn't because of the food or service which were superb! All our entrees (pan seared scallops, grouper, seabass and braised short ribs) were a good size and scrumptious. JJ, our server, was both very personable and helpful. For the amazing quality of the food, this definitely is a great place to dine.

Once inside the restaurant (we also had trouble with parking as the previous reviewed mentioned), we had a wonderful dining experience. I have a bit different perspective on the food as I try to stick to a mainly vegan diet. To eat here, you need to eat meat or fish. Since I have fish occasionally, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and it was fantastic. My review for the stars is for a plant-based eating perspective, and since a vegan/vegetarian really couldn't eat here I'm giving it a 3. It is wonderful tasting food and service.

Very nice, intimate place for dinner. Food was perfection. The only thing we complained about was the lack of prompt service. After speaking with the manager, we received free dessert and coffee which was really nice. They really care about their guests experience. We will definitely return.

Excellent food and service! Our server provided excellent recommendations and advice. Our sides consisted of lobster mac & cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. Both were excellent, and in large portions. For appetizer we ordered sea scallops - which were delicious, but there were only 2! For entree, I ordered the sea bass, and my husband ordered the filet mignon. Both were cooked to perfection, simply delicious! We were too full for dessert, but would definitely return!

Our experience here was wonderful. My husband and I ordered ahi tuna, crab cakes surf and turf, lobster Mac n cheese, collard greens and mashed sweet potatoes. The food was all served jn generous portions. Ahi Tuna- fresh and just right Crab cakes- full of meat not batter which is nice and the sauce drizzled on the plate brought out great flavors Surf & turf- the steak was very good and tender Lobster Mac- wow what a great creation Collards-best I've ever had. Loved the subtle sweetness and bacon pieces. And Simo was our server and he was perfect. Very pleasant & attentive (but not overly present). He had Great knowledge of wine and gave a great Caymus recommendation. We will definitely be back

Wow that was a good steak really well done and besides creamed spinach was unbelievably good my wife had the grouper said it was fabulous very well done between the two of us it was just an awesome meal

WOW. I went here for my wife and I's 5th anniversary. We had the 22oz bone in ribeye, lobster mac and cheese and fried oysters. The fried oysters were very nice not overly done and were very tasty. The bone in Ribeye were one of the best steaks I have ever had. The bones were small making for more meat on the plate. I can not tell you in words how amazing this meal was. The lobster mac and cheese has huge pieces of lobster in it. When I ate at Ruth Chris or Del Friscos you can barely see the lobster. At A Land Remembered there was about 5 oz of lobster if I had to guess. Out Server Semore was also great. He was very fast wit hour food and drinks and keep our glasses full. I do not think they went below half empty. I will be back soon to eat here. Forget Shulas, Ruth Crist or Dels eat here it worth the drive. Also they comp your parking. Mark Gordon

We had an awesome meal here, great service, and nice atmosphere. They did a custom order for me that was fabulous - mix of the filet & tomato salad. The key lime pie was delicious as well. Our entire group raved about the food. Favorites were the filet, salads, gator soup, alligator shaped butter, and deserts.

One word describes the entire experience, including food, service & ambiance: Incredible! The ambiance is very elegant, modern and romantic. Perfect for a fancy bday, date night or anniversary. Dimly lit with nice decor. his establishment provides extraordinary service! Extremely timely and with a pleasant demeanor! The staff seems to enjoy serving, which is fantastic! The food was created to perfection! We started with the Indian Town Shrimp Cocktail, which had a delicious three tiered sauce, the Diver Scallops, would have preferred a bit more sear but were still great, and the Pine Island Steakhouse Salad, which featured a beautiful wedge with just enough dressing, tomatoes & bacon. The wedge was so conveniently portioned in two desperate dishes for us to share, how thoughtful. :D The 20oz peppercorn rubbed New York Strip was plenty for a shared portion because we paired it with the Lobster Mac n' Cheese. They both were FABulous! I was SO pleased with the PERFECT medium-rare center! The seared edges of the steak were delectable and seasoned to perfection. To end with a complimentary birthday moose cake slice was not necessary, but much enjoyed! All around, I am so glad that we found this restaurant! We don't go to fancy places too often but the prices arn't bad if you don't mind sharing, the portions definitely allow for it. We will definitely be back for special occasions in the future!

I am sad to say that things are not up to par here. Last night 4 of us went here for dinner. The Blackened Salmon was a big disappointment as it had a very fishy taste. Definitely not a good sign for salmon. Magical dining is on and my wife and I have been taking advantage of it to try new restaurants. At all the restaurants we tried the portions were the same size as normally served from the regular full price menu. Not here. The filet mignon was a 6 oz. but the full price menu shows the smallest filet mignon at 8 oz. It was cooked okay but not with the charred outside as you would expect. The service was slow with many reminders that we had asked for things and had not gotten them yet. Overall not a great experience.

Amazing service! Delicious food. To begin, the bread was warm and yummy (and I'm not a big bread person) but it was hard to resist eating another roll. And the alligator shaped butter was very soft. I tried the fried oysters, they were good. The wedge salad was big with a spicy dressing. The lobster mac & cheese is a must! It's made for two and it's plenty. It was spiral noodles, very cheesy, with chunks of lobster. For my entree I had the filet mignon. It's accompanied with roasted garlic, so good!!! I had the asparagus without hollandaise sauce. It was good size side dish. At first I was intimidated by the surf and turf for $90! Woah! But I'm glad I ate here.

Amazing experience ! If you can, request Bob Fredette. Attentive , funny , personable, (but not a lingerer). Bob spent the proper amount of time conversing with us and then knew enough to give us our space . The bloody Mary's were made exactly how we like them, SPICY! I had the Bone in ribeye, baked onion, wife had the Filet, and we both had lobster Mac and wedge salad . The only issue we had was that we couldn't finish it all. Located at the Rosen Shingle Creek, customers enjoy free valet parking. Ambiance was great, there was a true mystical feel to the place. Enchanting, but not in a corny Disney type way, more of in a Malifocent meets four star dining type of way. Next time we head to Orlando, we will make it a point to dine at a Land Remembered - truly great. Remember , if you can, request Bob, you won't be sorry!

We went to A Land Remembered because of Magical Dining Month, and we'll definitely be coming back even when this special isn't running. The experience was definitely worth the price! We sat at the bar because we didn't have a reservation when we went. The bartenders will very attentive and friendly and my husband was able to keep up with college football while we waited for our food. The bread that comes before the appetizers is SO. GOOD. It reminded me of a biscuit as far as flakiness went, but there was melted cheese on top (maybe Asiago?) that added a nice crunch. It also came with alligator-shaped butter pads. Super cute! We both chose the Pine Island Wedge salad for our appetizer. I'm not much of a blue cheese fan, so it was just okay for me, but my husband really loved it. I ordered the Zech's Steak and Shrimp and my husband opted for the Filet Mignon. He was very impressed with the quality of the cut. I, too, was highly pleased with my ribeye. The melted butter on top really pulled the whole dish together! For dessert, we both opted for the Tobby's Chocolate Crunch. It reminded me of a chocolate mousse. It was rich and decadent and the berry garnish it came with was fresh and the perfect tart balance. This is definitely a place we will be coming back to!

We had a late dinner at the restaurant and started out with some of the best lump crab cake ever. The stuffed brie was outstanding, and the scallops were cooked perfectly. From here we went on with a great bottle of 2011 Darioush Cab and some incredible rib eye, file mignon oscar, seabags, and grouper. All were cooked to perfection. There service was impeccable; there's just no other word for it. This was the first time at the Rosen Shingles Resort, the restaurant fits in well with the rest of the hotel. All top-notch and a perfect spot to return to when in Orlando.

Sorry I don't have pictures but a photo could not describe the special treatment and the wonderful meal we recently had. This is THE place to go for special occasions or when you are really craving a fabulous meal. Order the escargot, best ever and not on the menu. Make sure Scott is the Chef, he is truly the best there is. Absolutely love this place, worth a couple hour drive.

Great service. Incredible food. Try the ribeye, and (my favorite) Lobster Mac and Cheese! For dessert, the Creme Brûlée is out of this world.

I have been wanting to try A Land Remembered for years, so my wife and I finally decided to give it a go during Magical Dining Month. We were greeted promptly at the door and seated right away. I loved the decor and atmosphere. Dimly lit, with dark, earthy colors. Very classy. Call it "romantic Southern." I appreciated the window patterns that blurred the TV light coming from the bar. A welcome separation. We sat at a booth near the back, which was nice and quiet at first. The decibel level was amped up drastically with the arrival of a group a rowdy businessmen (probably fresh off a day-long conference) that were seated at the table right behind to us. Needless to say, I was annoyed at having to speak up when talking to my wife, and surprised that the men weren't asked to take it down a notch. Magical Dining allows for a three-course dinner for $33/person. You simply cannot beat that price! We started with the Pine Island Wedge salad and Ahi Tuna, respectively. Then we both followed it up with the Zech's Steak & Shrimp, and ended the evening with a White Crème Brulee and Banana Cream Pie. Every dish was fantastic. Well cooked and seasoned, and very filling. Almost a bit much to handle, and these were supposedly"smaller portions" designed specifically for Magical Dining Month. So we of course had to take home a doggie bag. The alligator-shaped butter was a nice touch too. At first, our server J.J. "forgot" to bring us the Magical Dining menus we had requested; which I felt might have been a minor sales tactic. But when she forgot to add an extra side of collard greens to our order, I realized these were just minor hiccups. No harm done, really. She was very friendly and relaxed... and very helpful in recommending menu items. If only Yelp allowed us to give half-star ratings. This was really a 4.5 star experience overall. Near perfect. I can definitely see us coming back soon to try the main menu. Oh... and don't forget to ask for parking validation. You get free valet service for eating at the restaurant. That was a nice bonus considering the slow drive up to the main Shingle Creek entrance is a lovely one! ;-)

The food here will be sure to impress as the dictionary sized menu will make everyone happy, starting with the bread... We're do I start. The bread was warm and crispy with a warm centre. It was cheese bread so as you can imagine there was cheese on top, and you (unlike many other failed attempts at real cheese bread) can taste the cheese without it clouding the taste of the butter and bread. The butter was sculpted to perfection as it was shaped like a traditional Everglades alligator. The crab cake was the the star of the show, with a scallion dressing drizzled by the side in a zigzag across the dish. There were seasoned lemons that when you drizzle it across the plate you were met with a fresher tasting crab cake. The cake was 99.99 percent crab leading it to stand out from the rest. The next corse I had was a mixture of things. The first was the lobster mac and cheese. It was the macaroni without the cheese. It was nice and crispy but with very little lobster. The second was the steak and it was fantastic. It stole the show from the crab and lit up my tastebuds, and the The beautiful garlic source that came with It enhanced an already magnificent dish. Altogether it was amazing but I think the decor is slightly all over the place and they need to put more cheese in the macaroni. I have to say are service was grate and if you go here I recommend a server called Michael he will be sure to entertain you along with Deliver grate service.

This was absolutely an AMAZING experience. When I think of a steakhouse, I think yes, this please. The steaks are from Harris Ranch, which is from my home town in San Diego County; so that was a neat little side note. This does however mean the cuts of meat are prime and the beef is going to be grass fed. They have all of the cuts you would expect of a good steak house. They also have seafood. Hands down some of THE BEST Sea Bass I have EVER had. It was as amazing as the beef, which I appreciate. The sides were very good, but the proteins absolutely stole the show. They also offer escargot as an appetizer. DO NOT be intimidated (if you are one of those type). I ordered it for our group and was pleasantly surprised that they are already shelled and simmering in this amazing sauce. My friend who was very apprehensive at first wound up dang near licking the bowl. The ambience is nice and classy. The drinks are made like you would expect at a class act steakhouse. Service is spot on. I would seriously consider a trip back to Tampa simply to eat here. Yeah, it was that good.

They hardly need me to add another vote but this was a wonderful experience. We requested the Magical Dining Month menu ($33 a person for 3 courses). We upgraded with some wine and beer. I followed our server's suggestion and ordered the Ahi tuna appetizer, Filet Mignon entree and the Tobby Crunch (chocolate supreme!!) dessert. One of our guests got the 12 oz. Ribeye steak - that thing was beautiful. Another guest got the blackened salmon - she is a fish-lover, and she loved it. I had wanted to eat at this place for a very long time. The name is taken from my favorite book about Florida. Five Stars is a little bit less than they deserve, but that is how good everything was. Many thanks to Harris Rosen and his team for such a wonderful setting.

Went here for a business dinner. The service from the second we walked in the front door, to the moment we walked out, was outstanding. The waitress was so nice, helpful, responsive, etc. The food was really good. Crab cake was excellent. It was a lot of crab with some stuffing, as opposed to a lot of breading and a little crab. The wine choices were good. The price was also reasonable. The meats were excellent. We all ordered different meat dishes and they all were perfect. This is definitely a restaurant I would visit again if I were in the area.

The waiter, Bob, was topnotch !! I could not locate enough positive adjective to describe the service, warm welcome, friendly personality, and many other qualities displayed by Bob, the waiter and staff. Since there is limited space, I decided to follow up with a "Thank You" note via US Mail. Sometimes, social media overshadows the "true media". Bob continue to serving quality meals as well as character education traits! Thanks again, Delores W.

2.5 Stars Sorry for the late review. I was here on Sunday (4/6) and had brought along 5 guests (customers) for an appreciation dinner. This was my 2nd time here in the last 5 years and had a great meal and experience the first time. Unfortunately my recent dining experience did not match first one. I think the problem started off by the restaurant having too many large parties as there was a Restaurant Facilities Conference at the Rosen Shingle Hotel and everyone had the same idea that I did. Our appetizers came out warm and not quite the quality I remembered the last time. We had to wait 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive after we finished our appetizers. The kitchen got slammed with too many entrée orders at once for all of the large parties as we noticed many other tables waiting a very long time for their entrees to arrive also. Once our entrees arrived, my guests said their steaks were just at room temperature. They did not want to send back the food because they were already tired and just wanted to end the evening and go back to their hotel room and rest. My wife and I shared the Chateaubriand and that was good, but the sides we ordered were just warm in temperature and kind of fell flat. The server did his best with what he had to work with and the manager even came by to apologize about the delay and provided us with 6 complimentary shot glass size desserts. The gesture was nice but after spending $900.00+ on a meal, I expected a better dining experience. Not sure if I would go back especially if I knew the restaurant would be full...sigh.

OMG, the best tartare and steak filet I have had in a long time! I was cold and I asked the air be turned down but it stayed cold... never did meet a manager. The only suggestion I have... the small breads offered with the tartare were hard... I would suggest maybe not to toast them. The rolls were yummy. A bit pricey... but very large portions. The sweet potato mash was heaven :)

What a dining experience. This restaurant pays attention to the details. From bottled water to boxed chocolates as you depart, you are pampered and catered to like a queen. I was a bit chilly so my server brought a wrap for me. Little things that make a difference. We started the meal off with the dive scallops that were divine. They melt in your mouth. I had the Chilean sea bass pan seared, my other guests had blackened sea bass and the bone-in ribeye. The sides were collard greens and sweet potatoes mashed with honey butter. Perfectly seasoned and prepared. For dessert we salivated over the key lime pie, bread pudding and chocolate mousse. I am in love. And cappuccino. Best dining experience in a long time. Will definitely be back. JJ was an awesome server!

If you're in need of a Steak after a round of golf, this is your place. My BFF since 7th grade was in town for a work conference at hotel. We met for dinner with our other lifelong friend who lives here in town. It was great to spend time with them and catch up. Add in great food - it was a great night. Thanks to Yelp's Elite Event we had at the Mexican restaurant here, I had a 50% coupon for my next visit to the hotel. We made a reservation that day and had no problem getting in. We each got a steak. I had the sirloin and shrimp. The others each got the filet. We split a cesar salad (which would have been a meal in itself). For accompaniments we got the asparagus, lobster mac & cheese and onion rings. The servers joked they were more like onion donuts. Which is an accurate description. Everything was cooked to perfection. Courses were timed well - especially since we were looking to talk and enjoy each others company. We skipped dessert. Next time? The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I had a great evening.

I was visiting from Texas and was told a land remembered was the place to get a great dinner if you were staying at the Rosen Shingle. I'm glad i got to go. I travel all around, live in Texas and rarely come across a steak as good as this. I ordered the ribeye with blue cheese, cream spinach, mashed potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes. Every thing tasted perfect. The staff was clearly trained well in customer service. They made you feel welcome and seemed to really enjoy serving. They always knew just the right time to come by the table check in, and refill drinks. All in all it was an outstanding meal and and definite repeat.

Went here for a professional business meal and got professional service. The waiter replaced dropped napkins, pulled out and pushes in chairs for those going to and from the table. The service was quick and accurate. The suggested items from the menu were definitely the best. The food was cooked exactly as ordered, and tasted amazing. The crab mac'n cheese, portabella, and frog legs were all great appetizers. The sides are large enough for the table to share. I ordered the new york strip and was not disappointed. Ordered medium rare and it was cooked exactly as ordered. Lots of flavor in every bite. I recommend this place for all steak related items. Hope eveyone enjoys this place as much as I did.

Very attentive and friendly service. The decor isn't the posh steak house look of many of the other places in town, but more along the lines of a golf club house. Service in the bar was very solicitous.

Wow!!! One of the best (steak, but in general too) restaurants in the world! Kareem has been our server both times we came here and he is one of the most professional servers we've had at any upscale restaurant. Rivals Scomas in San Francisco...but much more beautiful atmosphere. Bone in ribeye is our favorite, shared both hot and cold mixed plate appetizers amongst friends last time, both are amazing! Steak tartare excellent! Again though, Kareem really made our experience. We came in at 10 pm last time when they stop serving and he made us feel so welcome and not like we were holding anyone up, went above and beyond offering desserts and even took his own time out to get fresh coffee as we were winding down, his insistence and by then well after closing time! Thanks Kareem, great service and wonderful restaurant atmosphere and chef selections. Our new favorite restaurant in Orlando.

I went with a colleague, as we were staying at the resort on business. We were looking forward to relaxing over an effortless dinner after a long day of conference. The service was promising at first, as was the expensive menu. He ordered the "sushi" appetizer, and I got the seared ahi tuna one. Both appetizers were huge portions - and it turned out that the portion size was obviously trying to make up for the quality and flavor. There was nothing refined or even very tasty about the shaved steak sushi-rolled with horseradish and asparagus. Just strong, bland flavors. My tuna...turned out to have a green film ON THE FISH. I ate one piece before noticing, pointed it out to the waiter, who barely apologized but went to show it to his chef. He asked if I wanted another, I said no, and that was end of story - no effort at all...AND he LEFT THE DISH ON THE BILL. Appalling. Then for the entrees - my colleague got the cedar planked salmon, said to come with some kind of onion dish, and I got the broiled salmon with almonds and chives - I wanted something on the lighter side, and I know that broiled means that. Wrong. My salmon (again, portion size for the almost $40!!! entree made up for quality) was smothered in butter and what seemed to be dried parm cheese (??) as well as almonds and chives. The salmon was overcooked and suspiciously fishy. My colleague invited me to share his, which was very tasty, although also slathered in butter. It came with a delicious mashed sweet potato, not onions (and I would have ordered if it I had known). We had no stomach left for dessert, nor interest in staying in the restaurant a moment longer - a place where we truly felt that patrons were tricked into a fake "luxury" experience. However, I will recommend the Gator Drool beer - it had a bright, fruity flavor that was delicious.

I am attending a work conference at thee Rosen Shingle Creek hotel and report and since they offered us a $30 three-course menu special we thought we'd try this steak house out. The started us out with some bread which was tasty but nothing too novel. Oh, they did have these cool little alligator shaped butters that were quite neat (posted pic to FB of course!). I started off with an alligator meat chowder which was very tasty although nothing that blew my mind away. I actually thought the salads sounded really good but I had to try alligator meat (hate to use the cliche but it did taste like chicken, just tougher...and they were just little pieces of meat, so not that daring really). For the entrée I got the 8 oz. filet down medium rare (as always). It was good, but not the best I've ever had. It came with some very tasty garlic mashed potatoes and a little fried medallion of zucchini...at least I think that's what it was, if it's fried I usually ingest it before I realize what happened). For dessert I ordered the key lime pie which I thought was very good, although it put me over the edge of fullness and I felt much too full at that point. A friend of mine ordered their red velvet cake which she didn't care much for. Not the best desserts. Overall, this place was tasty and I'd have liked to try their seafood. All in all I think I might head into the city if I were looking for a true 5 star restaurant. Finally, our waiter was very well-mannered and his assistant made sure our drinks were filled and plates removed quickly. I did, however, detect an ever so slight condescending tone once he realized we were there for work and not the kind of clientèle this place is generally used to serving, but that could have just been me since he did nothing explicitly to make us feel this way. Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 ( a truly beautiful restaurant which is set apart from the main hotel) next to a golf course with alligators) Food: 4/5 Very good but a three course meal on the regular menu would easily be $70 + per person!

Great restaurant at Shingle Creek Orlando resort. I'm from Kansas so finding a great steak outside my hometown is a rarity. Great atmosphere and a really good steak.

Really enjoyed this place. I gave it 4 stars b/c while I while the steaks were not as great as say Capital Grille (the filet was tough, and the ribeye a tad fattier, than expected), but still succulent. The rolls at the beginning, mmmmm there's some magic butter/cheese/I dunno what in there - sooooo yummy. And yes the alligator shaped butter is a fun touch. For us mid-range spenders it was a fine night out. Nice thing too is there was us in kacky's and a dress next to folks in golf gear - any dress code flies here far as I can tell (aside of a ratty tshirt, but c'mon folks you can tell by the decor you should not expect Margaritaville). Oh, caution, portions are BIG - we cancelled one of our sides just in time because the salmon flatbread (so good) was such a big portion we knew we'd be bursting. The dessert menu looked amazing but we were too stuffed! (let's just say the menu took 4 lines to describe the chocolate cake - shoulda got a piece to go!).

A Land Remembered is located at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort, which, incidentally, sits on over 200 acres of impeccably manicured grounds; the place is huge and it's absolutely beautiful. From top to bottom, the attention to detail is second to none, but I digress: Let's talk food! Wow. Wow! Wow !! My wife and I were craving seafood in a fine dining environment, so what did we do? Went to a steakhouse! Actually, that was on the excellent recommendations of several people we talked to, including my aunt and uncle who've lived in Orlando for over thirty years. Started off w. a luxurious, velvety smooth Lobster Bisque as a first course and paired it up nicely with an equally luxurious glass of Pinot Noir. The superlatives are endless but in a word, absolutely decadent (ok, two) ! For the main, I chose the Salmon with roasted cipollini onion & chive butter cooked on a cedar plank. Ordered medium, but for me, it was just slightly over cooked, probably closer to Med-Well, but still very good. Now to the missus' dish, which frankly, should get its own review b/c I'm not kidding when I say it was w.out a doubt, the most incredible piece of Chilean Sea Bass i've ever tasted...it was pan seared w. brown butter, lemon & capers. I would love to articulate and put into words just how insanely good it was but I seriously can't. It was that good and i'll just leave it at that. We finished w. the Dark Chocolate Filet. Yea, that's right, a Chocolate Filet (and at a steakhouse, go figure). Essentially it's a dark chocolate mousse with a raspberry center on top of Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Shortbread. It was as decadent as the first course and wrapped up perfectly, one of the most memorable meals i've had in a good while. I was gonna give this a four star b/c of my salmon but it was sincerely one of the best dining experiences i've had, and my wife and I eat out A LOT in Chicago, so had to give it a 5 spot. A Land Remembered will aptly *be* remembered for a very long time.
