I took my wife here for dinner to celebrate our 7th anniversary. The food was very good and the place was really clean. My server was Bobby and he was great. Only one time I had to ask him to refill my drink, other than that the guy was awesome. My wife and I ordered the seafood tower. This was really pricey but the dish has some really good highs and some lows. First, I like my seafood to be served hot, this is a cold plate. The crab was slightly overcooked and when you serve it cold, it makes it a little harder to extract the meat. The lobster was cold also, this means some of the meat ends end-up tasting like crayons. Mind you the dish was still very good, just serving it cold, changes the taste. The Ceviche was okay, kind of tasted like a fresh garden, the meat lost most of its taste. The Shrimp was good. The Oysters were awesome, I really liked these and the Tuna Tar Tar was out of this world. I would not recommend spending the money for the dish, I would order the oysters and tuna separately as this was the best part of the dish for me. We also ordered the 9oz Filet. It came with a zucchini salad and scalloped potatoes. The potatoes were pretty good but would have been better if they were a little more warm. The steak was perfect. Overall I really enjoyed my meal, the atmosphere and for the money, it was a fine dining experience. I will be going back in the future. Lastly, I made a quick pit stop in the bathroom, and they were very clean. The only thing I though was a little out of place was huge neon sign pointing to the restrooms that said "Potty". Just seemed like for the nice dining experience, this seemed more like something suited for a bar rather than a restaurant. They do have a bar located outside, I guess the sign must be for the people who drink to much and need large visual clues. After all we would not want them to pee in the mop bucket like Justin Beiber does. I recommend this place. RoninMoto

I've been here so often that I'm starting to feel jaded. But, honestly, its a dependable destination with well-prepared meals. The outside patio works for stand-up cocktail parties. Bring your friends or associates from the great white north, stand out there in the warm Florida winter, and hear them say "Oh, now I understand why people enjoy Florida in the winter." Honestly, the patio is next to a drive way and there is no view, water, nothing! I think though that when you are shut-in due to storms and freezing temperatures in some god-forsaken northern locale, this place can change your attitude! Having sample most everything on the menu, I now just order whatever sushi the chef feels like preparing for our table. Our groups have never been disappointed. We receive a beautiful presentation and a delicious sushi, every time!

The only criticism I have of our (nearly perfect) dinner was the oysters on the half shell. Once opened, the oyster should be separated from the muscle before served. None were. Also, only one cocktail fork accompanied a platter of a dozen shared by my husband and me. Minor details from a restaurant that usually gets this service right. That said, my Tampa Delight Roll was delicious with just the tiniest bit of crunch. Loved it! My husband ate every bite of his seafood and pasta dish. Unusual for him. And the bread... OMG! Chewy on the outside and all hot doughy softness in the middle. If you're a "bread person", you want to try it. And they do a nice presentation of the accompanying oil plate. Last word? Happy hour house Cabernet was very pretty good AND the portion was generous.

City Fish was very good. We got the guacamole appetizer, which was very nicely seasoned. I ordered the grouper and my companion the portobello chicken. They were both nicely prepared. Good carrot cake for dessert. Service was very friendly and competent. Very nice dinner!

Ick. Really best way Summarize our neals. Husband had the fish and chips and couldn't stomach more than four bites. Said it tasted worse than Mrs. Paul ' s out of the box. I had lightly blackened fish tacos which had no flavor. We gave our leftovers to my mother in law who wastes nothing and apparently has no taste buds left.

Wow City Fish you did it again!!! Amazing food and impeccable service...thanks Caitlin! Try the seven course tasting with wine pairing for two and bring your appetite because with 5 appetizers two entrees and dessert it's going to fill you up.

We happened to stop by this place while driving by it and SO glad we did! What a pleasant surprise! Superbly prepared fish, fantastic sushi, great wine list, wonderful dessert and excellent service. A well thought out menu, creative with a wonderful variety of different dishes. We will be back. Highly recommend going there. After reading the other reviews, can't wait to go back and try the brunch.

I'm tempted to say this place doesn't live up to it's prices on a regular day but they have a Sunday brunch special that's phenomenal. They offer all you can drink mimosas with a bloody mary bar & a buffet stocked full of great food that includes: eggs benedict, bacon, mac and cheese, salad, omelette station, fresh fish, crab legs, sushi, oysters, and a chocolate fountain for dessert (obviously not a full list). I think it's around $25. It can get pretty busy so you might want to call for a reservation.

Heard rave reviews.... went for buffet. It's a 3 on a scale of 1-5 for selection and quality. People are nice. I ate at the bar. Met some nice people dining. The bartender looked like he could use about 8 other arms. He was clearly spread so thin we could see through him. As such, service was below average.

Fantastic food. I've been here with tables for 2, 4, and a group of 20. service was always good and attentive. Classy atmosphere, good for a date or hanging with friends. I like grabbing the outdoor bar patio during happy hour (believe HH is 2-7pm weekdays). My favorite HH drink is the $2.00 City fish red beer pint on draft. My girlfriend goes for the 2-for-1 wines. Food recommendation: filet tips, flat breads, salads are large, and chicken sandwich was excellent.

We went here for a reunion with our soldier friends returning from Afghanistan. We got a table for 10 and when we got there, there were only 8 seats and we were informed they didn't have a big enough table for 10.. After us suggesting to get another table, they finally brought one. The brunch was pretty good, not awesome or anything to write home about. The eggs tasted like they were powdered and the pizza was very chewy. The mimosa, sangria, monitor bar was delicious, but honestly, I would've rathered spend the 30 dollars for my meal elsewhere. Since its a buffet, we got our own food, which was fine. However with that being said, a tip was automatically added to our bill. While I realize we were a larger party, we really didn't have a "waiter" so for them to tell ME how much I should tip their "server" was a little odd. To top it all off, the guy sitting near us was completely wasted.. He was singing loudly, trying to entice female customers, and just being completely obnoxious. Aside from that, the people at the table behind us had gotten up to go get more food. The table was moved to combine with another table for a bigger party, and the elderly man sitting there came back to no table and was very confused. Our party told the "wait" staff and they did work to get him a new table, however, after all of that, the man and the other person he was with were BILLED at a different table, not even the one they were sitting at to start with. If that had been me, you could bet money on the fact that my meal would've been paid for. Honestly the only reason this place is getting 1 star from me is because the mimosa bar was pretty good. Never in a million years will I go back to this place or recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I go to City Fish about once a month and we always enjoy it. The service and food are consistently good. I usually order the steak and seafood kabob and the lemon drop martini and find both to be close to perfection. My only suggestion would be for them to change their vegetable garnish; the zuchini / tomato mix is bland and the juices spill into the entree.

I really enjoyed my entire experience here. I came with a large group and they placed us in a good area. The server did a fine job serving the large group and was willing to work with everyone to make sure all of the orders were correct. They had a happy hour with 2 for 1 wines, and the wine was pretty good. The food was delicious! I had a sushi roll as an appetizer. It was the City Fish roll, and it was very fresh and well made. I then had the Mediterranean salad and an appetizer of coconut shrimp as my main meal. Both were delicious and well prepared. I enjoyed our entire experience here, and with our large party of 12+ people, no one had a complaint!

Great ambiance. This place is a bit pricey but they have drink specials on the weekend. The menu is pretty large for a seafood restaurant and it is one of the few local places that have raw oysters on the menu. The best deal in the house is the seafood tower appetizer. Enough seafood to feed three for only $35.

Food was awesome. For appetizers we had the Crab Rangoon which was delicious and fatty! The Crab Chowder in a bowl was huge and very very tasty and creamy (highly recommend)-we couldn't finish it. We then ordered a Surf and Turf (Baby Back Ribs & Seared Scallop) which came with zucchini and pasta. Definitely a spot to try out if you come down to Tampa or Oldsmar!.

I thought this place looked really cool. Very upscale decor, I do agree with Ashe who reviewed the restaurant on 2/8/08 that the neon "Potty" sign was out of place. It does detract from the other classey decor. The plasma screens showing the Chef's preparing food is a very cool idea. Service was excellent! Wine list impressive. I ordered the Salmon cooked on a cedar wood plank and garlic smashed potatoes. The food was excellent. The Salmon turned out smokey and moist. Nicely done. The smashed potaoes were the best I ever had. I would have liked to know what they added to the mix to have them taste like they did. The crowd was upscale and mid 30's to 50. They had live music on the covered deck and the place was crowded on a Wednesday. This place looks like a great place to have drinks with a group of friends let alone dinner. The price/value relationship was good.

I had the seared ahi tuna salad and calamari. It was really good! The tuna was perfect. My only complaint was the calamari was very thin ... kind of like shoestring fries. My husband had the coconut shrimp, which was delicious. They had two types of dipping sauces with the shrimp ... the mango salsa was amazing! The atmosphere was just OK ... I thought the neon "potty" sign was a little out of place. Service was excellent. I will definitely eat here again.

Today was my first experience here and it didn't bode well. The food was excellent, but the service left much to be desired. At 1:30pm, I walked in and ordered from the server at the front station using their BOGO on hand-carved sandwiches. I ordered one club and one Cuban pork sandwich....to go. I even went ahead and paid so she didn't have to make two trips to the register I had one hour for lunch. at 2 pm, they come to tell me that the two gentlemen I had been talking to (whom I worked with) had mistakenly been given my order and I am told they will make a new order for me immediately. The manager Chris then comes over to tell me they are out of Cuban pork and will make me another sandwich and that he will be comping my lunch. I was astonished at this being the level of service I was getting considering I'd already had an issue. I ordered a Godfather and asked him to please hurry. By the time I received my food, I had 13 minutes left in my lunch hour. He explained that he didn't need my credit card to process my refund but would take care of it in the back office. I will now be watching my statement to see if he does what he says, but I'm not sure that I'll be back.

Best boozy brunch! Unlimited mimosas/Open Bloody Mary bar, omelet station and cheesecake bites make this place the best Sunday brunch spot in the area. Dinner at City Fish is also superb!

Get your act straight. Called for a reservation and your bartender answered. He transferred me 2x to the hostess and it went to voice mail. I ended up going to flame stones for an awesome dinner!

Awww the sea bass for dinner was great. Have it with the beans and rice. Spicy and delish! You won't be let down. Eating lunch next time to check out again.

Went there for the first time tonight. The interior is very clean and modern. My martini was delish, and all the food we ordered, ahi and chicken, was fresh and so good! We will for sure be returning to try more stuff on the menu.

I am going to keep this short. I rate a steak based on whether steak sauce is needed to make it edible. I ordered a 6 oz. filet and the server was cocky enough not to offer steak sauce or any other topping for my filet. The server had a reason to be cocky, my steak tasted along the lines of the steaks I have had at Ruth Chris' and Morton's.

Love the food..hands down this is an excellent seafood and sushi restaurant. Service is good and consistent. However I won't be going back due to the smoking. They have a very large outdoor patio and tend to leave the front doors open. It's a small restaurant and the smoke billows in and fills it up quick. It's impossible to enjoy fresh seafood or any food for that matter, when smoke is present. What a shame. I wish that more restaurants would adopt a TRUE non smoking policy, you owe it to your food and your patrons.

    (3)
  • Vin C.

Excellent food, consistent quality. My only complaint is that the menu really does not vary much and the specials are just mild variations of the normal menu.

This place is as consistent as it gets. Seafood is extraordinarily fresh and the service is exemplary.

I do not understand what the hype is over their Sunday Brunch. Yeah, you get a wide variety of choices - crab benedict, hash browns, crab legs, waffles, pancakes, sushi, eggs, omlets, carving station, bloody marys & mimosas, and a lot more but it's overrated. I don't know where this place went wrong but I'll start with the service first. Our waiter was absolutely lousy! He wasn't friendly, didn't say anything about help yourself to our buffet it's over there, or even ask if this was our first time here & did we have any questions, no smile, nothing. Then I brought crab legs back to my table to eat cold because he failed to inform me that all I had to do was ask him to have them steemed. On to the buffet - cold! Everything was cold, overseasoned, mis-labled or missing a label (and I hate to say it but one item we couldn't even figure out what it was after eating it) and the croissants were stale. On a good note, the chocolate fountain was about the only cool thing. I was completely shocked at how horribly the brunch buffet was after hearing such amazing things about how yummy the food was. Totally overpriced and I will never go back there again.

Honestly, the best blackened grouper I have had in a long time. City Fish has amazingly fresh seafood and the service was excellent. I have also tried their sushi, also extremely good. Their outside bar is perfect for happy hour, especially when they have an acoustic guitar player out there. Very easy to get to, just West on Hillsborough on the left after Racetrack. Very impressed overall!

The worse dinning experience. The food was horrible and it took over an hour. We had salads! How does it take that long to prepair salads when we are one of 3 tables in the entire restaurant?????

Coming to Oldsmar often enough on business, I have been here a few dozen times in the past few years. Needless to say, I am a fan. The cooking is always well executed and the food is of pretty high quality. Occasionally, service is spotty, but the ambiance and food make up for this. Moreover, if you are used to paying for similar restaurants in New York City or San Francisco, City Fish is a good deal. I like starting out with raw oysters or sushi. The oysters are always fresh, served with the usual condiments, but of high quality. You don't get a mushy lemon or staid horseradish. The sushi is solid for this type of restaurant: always fresh, done with care, and knowledge. It's not exotic sushi, but rather more suited to a general American palette, but nonetheless good. I typically get the whole snapper, sometimes fried, sometimes grilled. It isn't often you can get an entire fish with the head, skin, and bones intact, expertly cooked. It is moist, flaky, and best eaten with your fingers. It's too bad many Americans won't go for whole fish, as the bones actually impart flavor. The kabob choices are also very good. On occasion, I've had the steaks, which were consistently prepared to my specifications and of solid quality. I especially like when they have the blue cheese crust on the filet. The sides are not elaborate, but like everything else, of quality, good portions, and well executed. The wines are more extensive than what is on the online menu. For example, I have had Silver Oak Cabernets and other excellent Napa and Sonoma wines. In summary, this is a place my business colleagues andI often bring clients and visit on our own time. It's not complex high end gourmet, but rather food of high quality prepared with pride and consistent quality. It's just a nice experience

I don't like giving bad reviews but I have to say I had a real bad experience when I went there with my husband. It was the worst service we have ever had when going out to eat. My sea bass was average and was husbands sea bass was literally bad. It smelled like ammonia and was literally rotten. Needless to say we will not be back.

We had heard about City Fish, checked the Yelp reviews, and decided to go there with friends visiting from Connecticut. It was really good, as to service, drinks, and food. It has a fun, sophisticated but casual atmosphere. The drink prices were reasonable - wine by the glass ($6.50 for Jacobs Creek) - and mojitos (I tried the pomegranite mojito $7.75). The food was great: filet special with blue cheese and a blueberry based sauce, with sauteed spinace ($31.90) was very tasty. I was worried the sauce would be too sweet, but it was not. It was just right, and went great with the meat and blue cheese. It was a little pricy, but the quality was very good. The whole snapper with sauteed spinach ($21.90) had a great thai sauce. Very delicious, eliciting oohs and ahs. Seabass with oscar topping ($33.85) was also very nicely prepared but over-priced for the portion. A friend had the lobster pasta ($24.95) and said it was very good. The kids ordered the tuna symphony ($10.90), yellowtail sashimi ($14.90), and a california roll ($6.90). They were very happy with their choices, and the fish all tasted very fresh. Portions were nice. Overall, the people working there were very upbeat and helpful, but our waitress, Kristina, was fair. The initial impression I had was that she did not seem very happy to have kids in the group (4 adults, 3 kids aged 10 to 13). I think she automatically assumed there would be less ordering, resulting in a smaller tip for the group, or perhaps she thought the kids would be difficult (which they were not, all were very well-mannered and are used to eating at better restaurants). When telling us about the specials, she was looking around like she had better things to do. But, all that being said, once the orders were in, the staff took good care of us (mainly people who were helping, rather than Kristina). We actually saw less of her than the others. So, setting aside the slight sour note with our main waitress, it was overall an excellent evening at a fun restaurant. We will go back).

Tia was our server, knew her products and made very good suggestions, also had a great personality. Food was great with the chippino excellent. I gave the lobster to my wife and enjoyed the rest. Sitting outside was fun. She had the fillet tips as a starter to add to the lobster, what a good dinner. Surf and turf in a strange way. How could it be bad? If we come back to the area we WILL come back.

I have dined twice before at City Fish and had the brunch once , excellent. Tonight was a different story, my friend ordered Grouper which looked and tasted like a piece of rubber fish , opaque in color and bounced like a ball. The salad wedge didn't hold a candle to Outbacks. I myself had fillet and lobster, give me a frigen break, crap, crap, crap. Last time I go to C F. Your dollar will be better spent at Golden Corral.

Food was good I would've rated it great but my steak was not what I ordered. I asked for well done because I'm pregnant and 1/2 way through the steak was red. It was a bit disappointing since the waiter just said oh maybe I should've specified extra well done. I hope he felt the same about his tip as I did about my steak, disappointed.

City Fish Seafood Grill and Chop House Where to start? Let's start by giving them 5 stars the restaurant and kitchen are impeccably clean as well as the restrooms. The décor is very easy on the eyes and there is plenty of room both inside and outside. They even have cameras over the range in the kitchen displaying what is cooking on large plasma TV's. We decided to sit outside under the covered patio it was nice, it is open but has air conditioning and ceiling fans. There was live entertainment, a guy playing a keyboard and he did not sound too bad. The service was excellent and he had told us the specials of the day and they sounded great, but we had our minds set on Sushi. Our server brought us some fresh baked bread and olive oil pesto for dipping. This was great and kept us busy while we chatted and waited for the food. We ordered Yellowtail Sashimi with diced chilies, yellowtail, jalapeno and yuzu juice. We also ordered the Big Boss roll which consisted of Yellowtail, Smoked Salmon, Tuna and Avocado. We finished it off with the Tuna Tempura Roll that had Yellow Fin tuna, Asparagus, Avocado; Cream Cheese, tempura Fried & Served with a Trio of sauces. All these dishes were excellent and displayed beautifully. The rest of the food on the menu looked great, so needless to say I have to return to taste more of these delicious culinary delights.

Absolutely remarkable. I have a policy that I don't "rate" a place unless I've dined there on on at least 4 occasions that way I have a chance to sample a variety of items. I will say without hesitation that this place is superb. The best muscles I've ever had and a wonderful atmosphere. A must go.

Best bang for your buck for Brunch!!!! I live in Land O Lakes so this was about a 30 minute drive for me, definitely worth the drive!! $23 a person gets you all you can eat and all you can drink Mimosas & Bloody Marys. The buffet included an omlet station, sushi, Crab legs, Peel & eat shrimp. Shrimp & grits, sausage, bacon, pasta station, biscuits & gravy, and a dessert station! They do not skimp on the food or the drinks! Super impressed by the food, beverage and the service. I've been recommending it all week to my friends and fellow hospitality friends. We had about 15 people in our group and had a great time!

Very disappointing. We went for dinner and didn't have a great experience. The service was slow and the food was below average. They were out of the dinner and the desert I ordered. The food took a long time to arrive and was cold when we got it. Our bill was over $100 and it was totally not with it. This was my first and last visit.

I realize this is a seafood restaurant, but I ordered the steak, and let me tell you this was one of the best restaurant steaks I have ever had. Fantastic flavor in the ribeye, I would recommend to anyone that enjoys a good steak. The asparagus was also exceptional. And the white chocolate creme brulee was absolutely fantastic. Good service, nice atmosphere.

We've eaten here twice and the food and service have been very good both times. I ordered the shrimp scampi and a dinner salad on my last visit. The salad was crisp and fresh, served on a cold plate, and the lemon-basil dressing was excellent. The generous portion of shrimp was served on toast, and accompanied by my choices of garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The shrimp was delicious and the toast was a welcome change from Florida's habit of serving scampi over pasta. The green beans were cooked al dente, and the garlic mashed potatoes were very good as well. Others in our party ordered king crab, which disappeared quickly, surf & turf kabobs, and food I can't recall, but everyone was very pleased with their meals. The waiter bragged about their Key Lime pie (doesn't everyone in Florida?), so two of our group ordered it, and I gave it an obligatory taste. WOW. That was some good Key Lime pie!! Probably the best I've had. I crave it now as I write. The prices seem reasonable as well, the scampi was 15.90 and I was more than satisfied. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn next to this place so it was convenient. We checked out the menu posted on the outside and it looked like they had quite a variety. Our party of four was seated quickly. The guy waiter wasn't too good, but tried to be humorous and entertaining. We asked why we didn't see some of the same items on the menu that we read outside and he laughed at us and said they lost the key to the glass box that enclosed the menu so they couldn't update it. It made us wonder if there were more items on the property that needed repair but they were too cheap to fix? Everyone liked their food and our wait was about average for a busy evening. I did ask the owner about the menu box outside and he said that he does have a key, but he was waiting on a new outside menu to be printed...he also said the waiter shouldn't have made up the story about the lost key. We probably won't go back; there's better options in that area with some better scenery.

I figured City Fish would just be another run of the mill restaurant featuring seafood, steaks and chicken. While they do offer all this....everything is far more delicious than expected! I always get the tried and true blueberry compote filet--a special that is not on the menu all the time, but they will make it for you whenever. This filet is in the top 5 steaks I've ever had, including those from the other upscale steakhouses in Tampa. My boyfriend always orders something different and has not once been disappointed. Their Sunday brunch is something to write home about for sure with more food than you could ever wish to try in one sitting. The unlimited mimosas and bloody marys aren't bad either! If you'd like an appetizer, try the pulled pork nachos. They do not skimp on anything here! The restaurant and kitchen are impeccable. The only thing that throws me off is the neon "potty" sign near the restrooms, which others have mentioned as tacky as well. Do yourself a favor and eat here if you've been considering it. You'll be back.

Ordered the Chilean Sea Bass it was the best I have ever had. Also wife ordered (and we shared) the Filet with blueberry sauce and blue cheese mmmmmm mmmmm mmmmm mmmm mmmmmm was a very choice cut of meat, very tasty and the bluecheese potatos were also a hit. We are from Jacksonville and next time we are in the are we will be back.

I would've ranked this place higher had I not just been to the far better Belleair Grill & Wine Bar. Still, the food at City Fish was better than average by Florida standards (just not as good as BG). City Fish seems more about style over substance while BG is more about substance over style. As such, City Fish is better for a big night out, whereas BG is better for a quiet, romantic dinner. Either way, this gives Clearwater another nice place to eat in addition to the more casual, Frenchy's restaurants.

  • Ashe H.

Should I even bother reviewing a restaurant that has a sign the restroom says "Potty" in big neon yellow letters? I guess, but this one will be short because that visual burned into my retina, even though it's days later, still disgusts me. Tacky signs aside the place has a really nice Floridian charm. Darkened, with slow spinning ceiling fans that make me think of an old Humphrey Bogart flick that was never written (but should've been). It appears to be a pretty busy establishment catering to the upscale patrons of the sleepy town of Oldsmar, who apparently don't feel it's entirely necessary to dress up to go out. The staff was on their collective toes and we couldn't blink without them offering to refill our water glasses. As far as the food goes the flat bread bruschetta was simple but a tasty combination of shrimp and tomatoes. My mahi-mahi was served impeccably cooked, but none of the sauce suggestions seemed to quite fit. Eventually I just settled on the garlic/butter sauce to at least give it some semblance of flavor. Better tasting was my GF's exquisite seafood stuffed fillet Mignon which was bursting at the seams with all types of oceanic goodness. Tender and perfectly cooked I knew I'd made the wrong choice for an entree the moment our server placed it on the table. Although quite tasty neither of our sides were anything worth writing about and were terribly overshadowed by the main courses, though the vegetable medley was a very interesting choice. Chopped zucchini and green beans I believe it was, memorable it was not. Dinner, appetizers, and salad for two came to about $60 bucks and some change which exactly what I figured it'd be when walking through the door. Too bad I wasn't in a betting mood that would've made the night really interesting. On another note the restrooms were quite plush with flat screens in the men's urinals similar to those found at trendier nightclubs. It even had a lounge area with wicker table and chairs. Though all of that still does make up for that atrocious mockery of a sign. So no you cannot have that 4th star you might have gotten. Denied.

The City Fish.....what a great place to go and hang out. It's kind of in a strip mall so you think, no good, probably not a quality place. GUESS AGAIN!!!! When you first walk in, the decor is upscale. In the seating area, the servers can see from one end to the other, thus you can be assured you will be waited on in a timely manner. There are two bar areas, one inside and one outside - with drawn clear tarps when cold or hot. Both bars are in a shape of a horseshoe connected together but a wall separates them. The bartenders can go back and forth between though. I've only sat at the outside bar and the bartenders are the best. Thank you Jimmy, Curt, Emily and Chris! The food is stellar. Being a vegetarian, they made me a meal both nights (Yes I went twice it was that good) that was not on the menu. Both cooks (Duggie and Billy) came out and asked me what I liked and created something fresh, tasty and wonderful. Yum, the taste still lingers. Again, many thanks! If you are in Tampa, Oldsmar or the near area, the City Fish is a MUST visit. Live music from 5 nights a week in the outside bar area. Go, now!

We celebrated our Anniversary there last evening. First time going. Surprised we haven't been before. We started with some appetizers. Dozen Raw oysters and tempora tuna roll. Both were excellent! Oysters we very fresh. I just ordered a Cesar salad because I was full from the apps. My husband had the ribye and he loved it. We did also splurge on the Mac and Cheese which was amazing. I would go back just for that. Overall we will definitely be back!

I am personally sick of this place because I take every visiting employee and client here, every time. Also we do quarterly happy hours here, b\c it's close to the office. BUT - that being said, I'm sick of this place because I take everyone here because the food is so good. I give 4 instead if 5 stars because the ambiance is just okay and the hostess staff is weak tending to ignore v. welcoming you. You almost feel like you are annoying them. The food is excellent. I highly recommend the beef maduga and all the flatbread apps. The calamari is decent but nothing special. One of the best specials here is the filet w/ blueberry sauce and blue cheese au gratin potatoes. The grouper Oscar is amazing!!! The lobster and shrimp pasta is totally excellent, while the long fin Tilapia is sweet and savory. My general go- to is the cedar salmon, fantastic. Stay away from the Maine lobster, they're held too long and are tough. There are way better places in Tampa for lobster than here. But this place is fantastic overall!!

Where do I begin? Nothing but a great review for this place! By far of all the Sunday brunch places in Tampa, City Fish had the most variety of food choices. Paella to grits & shrimp (which was well seasoned), steak & eggs and list goes on. Even just sampling you still won't be able to try everything in one visit. And let's not forget the drink selections. A Bloody Mary bar, sangria, mimosa, various favored vodkas, all included in the price! Nice and casual but still somewhat upscale furnishing makes this a nice date spot. Will have to come back!

My experience at City Fish Grill was very, very mixed. I would give them 3.5 stars if I could. I am rounding down to 3 stars because the majority of the food had some issues. We visited City Fish on my Birthday. If you sign up for their emails and bring the printed certificate ON your Birthday, you get a free $30 Lobster dinner. I couldn't pass this offer up, so I decided to go here for my Birthday. We started with Beer Cheese Soup. It was very good. Not the best that I have had (Tampa Bay Brewing has that particular accolade), but very good. I would order this as my meal if they served it in a larger size. For entrees I received the free Lobster dinner which includes a seasonal vegetable and one side of your choice. I mistakenly picked the Potatoes Au Gratin based off of another review here and the vegetable was green beans. Blah. My lobster was large and split down the middle. It was accompanied with liquid butter and lemon. The lobster tail was VERY overcooked and chewy. If I had paid for it, I would have sent it back. Since it was free and I was stuck chewing a huge piece before I realized that it was so overcooked (I tried to bite into it and end up having to chew the entire piece since I couldn't bite through it) I did not send it back. I choked down the other half of the lobster tail and then moved on to the claws. The claws were delicious and made up for the earlier disappointment. The Potatoes Au Gratin were really freaking weird. They had a gravy. I am used to a cheese sauce with my potatoes au gratin. The gravy was good on first bite, heavy on the second and blah by the third. I did not finish them. I'm not a fan of green beans, but I still ate them all like a good girl. Not my thing. My Husband ordered the Swordfish. Neither of us have tried Swordfish before and it was excellent! It is a meatier fish that reminded me more of chicken or steak than fish. The Swordfish was well seasoned and grilled. I would highly recommend this entree. He received the same green beans and a baked potato. His baked potato was loaded, but COLD. Ugg. This was the first time I have seen him leave a potato on a plate...ever. Now for dessert. They had carrot cake on the menu which is one of my favorite cakes ever and it was my Birthday. It was also $10. My Husband talked me into it and I agreed since my Lobster was only half good and I left quite a bit of my side. Hubby ordered the Chocolate Cake (It was called Chocolate Seascape). We received HUGE 6-7 layered cake slices with three scoops of homemade ice cream. The carrot cake and ice cream were tasty. Not the best I have had, but very satisfying. I'm still not sure it was worth $10, but it was needed for this meal. A comment about the service. Our server was great the first half of our experience. He joked around with us and made suggestions. Then, after our food arrived he was missing in action. This is a big reason why we did not send anything back. I also want to comment on the atmosphere. It is weird. It feels like a cheap margaritaville beach restaurant when you walk in. I had already viewed the menu and knew the price-point. For me, it does not match the vibe of the indoor straw thatched bar. Then again, the bathrooms were super nice. My Husband said the Men's bathroom had a TV above every stall. The Women's bathroom only had one TV. It's just kind of weird. Don't view the menu and expect a fancier restaurant. All in all, we left happy with the majority of our meal. I think we were a little more satisfied because we were celebrating and we had fun cracking the lobster claws (which I needed lots of help with and we were both covered in lobster in the end). If this had been an everyday dinner, we would have been even more disappointed. We still had a bill around $60. That was probably due to our $20 in dessert. Would we return? Possibly. We now know more of what to order and what to avoid. Will I spend my 33rd Birthday here? No.

Once you get past the "straight out of a Florida condo decorated in 1992" decor, the food is surprisingly good. They even know how to cook a decent steak! My dining companion sadly eats her steak well done, though it pains me to see! Even at well done the steak was well seasoned and still very juicy. The boursin mashed potatoes were fantastic! My seafood fish was cooked well and was a huge portion. I couldn't finish it all and still wanted to try the key lime pie. Took the pie back to my hotel room but was very disappointed in it. Weird grainy texture. Ended up throwing most of it away.

This is a wonderful restaurant and truly a hidden gem in quaint little Oldsmar, both which are understated in my opinion. I have been to City Fish several times before, but haven't been in two years. I came for the Saturday brunch, seeing that they've revamped the menu. The first thing I had was the blackened shrimp and cheesy grits, which was delicious. I knew I had to come back and try the crab cake benedict. This benedict used crab cake instead of English muffin, which I thought was creative. The crab cake was chunky with crab meat and seasoned well. Each were topped off with fried egg over easy, and smothered with hollandaise sauce. I rounded off my meal with their creamy cheesy grits. Both meals made me remember why I loved this place. The price for the breakfast is not too bad either; one entree will set you back under $20 and are satiating.

I'm happy with this place - we always feel welcome and the service is very good. We had the tasting menu for a special occasion and they did a really nice job on it - everything was delicious! My favorite is the cedar plank Salmon - hard to write this and not go there and order it! The sushi is good too - this is a nice well appointed restaurant - either for date night or a family outing. If you can tell from my other reviews, I'm A stickler for service - after 10 yrs in NY and 10 in Dallas it's as important as the food for me!

The food here was really good. There weren't many options for vegetarians which is a little by of a neg, but the two sides that we had... Au gratin potatoes and green beans were delicious! The rest of our table seemed to enjoy their food as well. The waitress was also really nice.

What a fantastic Sunday Brunch. I am so full and I didn't even try half of the items offer. I recommend the fresh steamed king crab legs, steak and eggs, shrimp and grits and the cedar plank salmon, just to name a few. They have a bar with make your own bloody Mary's, sangria, mojitos and mimosas that is included for $30.00 per person. Make sure you save room for dessert. Will definitely be back.

Other than our waitress, who La Chica described as "aloof," our first experience here last night was out-freaking-standing. Décor, prices, food & wine selection as well as food quality were all spot on! The only item I didn't see was a grouper sammich, but I'm guessing they'll whip one up if asked. I had a really hard time trying to determine what to order, but I could smell seared cedar planks coming from the kitchen, so I eventually settled on the CEDAR PLANK SALMON. The meal comes with the daily veggie, so I got that by default. For my second side, I went with a loaded baked potato. The salmon was absolutely delicious. I've only had this dish at one other place, and that was Mitchell's, where it's very good as well. Not sure which is better to be honest. The veggie of the day was squash and zucchini mixed with a light red tomato sauce and topped with fresh parm--also very good. As for the loaded potato, I was enjoying it just fine until I took a bite of La Chica's potatoes au gratin. They proved to be a much more tasty side item for sure! All bottles of wine were half off, so we went for a $46 of chardonnay, simply because we'd never spend that much. But at $23, it was a steal. I don't normally order a dessert, but we heard the KEY LIME PIE was made in house. Most places order them from bakeries, so I had to try it. We ordered one along with an Irish coffee, and wow... City Fish might be making a run at best Key lime pie here. It's a toss up between them and Rusty Bellies in Tarpon Springs. All-in-all, 2 meals, a bottle of wine, dessert and an Irish coffee only set us back $69. Couldn't have been happier, and we will most definitely be back. Only negative was with our waitress. She disappeared for extended periods of time, and never brought us any bread. Every table around us was building up their appetites with baskets of bread, but not us. By the time I had a second to asked, the waitress was bringing out our food. Who wants bread at that point?

Truly was a meal to forget. Actually it had been months since I had ate there, and I was easily reminded of all of its faults. To start off, I don't know what is wrong with the water, but it is funky bad. It may have a sulfur element that isn't getting filtered out. The waiter then brought us some bread and olive oil. The bread was great, piping hot and very fresh. But the oil was nasty. Whatever they sprinkle in the oil tastes like lawn clippings. Then we ordered the fish nuggets off of the children's menu and the first piece I tried was extremely fishy. I would have to assume that it was an old piece or it had gone bad because the other pieces didn't have the same taste. My wife ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the crab legs. I would have to say that my crab legs were cooked to perfection, but the accompanying vegetable of the day (sautéed summer squash) was horrible. Not even remotely seasoned with anything. My wife wondered if it was cooked for nursing home patients as it had no flavor other than oil. The real funny thing is that the waiter never asked how the food was. He must have already knew the answer. This is the first time in a long time that my wife wouldn't tip her regular 20%. I'll have to try to remember the previous experiences so I don't make the same mistake again.

Sea Bass was fresh and delicious but not worth the price. Almost $40 Dollars. Sides came out cold. Service was good but the coffee cups were dirty. Spent $155 for three people with no alcohol. I recommend the Coconut Shrimp.

I hate that I forgot to take a pic before I began eating because the presentation was nice. I wish I could have given a better review because the ppl were nice. I was wishy washy when I ordered and kept changing my mind. The girl who answered was really sweet& patient with me. The greeter & Bartender who gave me my take out order were attentive& Friendly. 5 stars for service. Not so much for food. And since I was ordering to go, taste came 1st for the ranking and Service a close 2nd. I ordered the Bimini stuffed Grouper & Broiled lobster on the side. The lobster was flavor less & DRY. They didn't put any butter in the container. Nor did they offer. I noticed but since I'm trying to cut back on calories I didn't say anything. Most times I can go without butter and a juicy lobster would be just fine. Not this one! I expected more from a restaurant with seafood in their name. The string beans & garlic Au gratin mashed potatoes were sooooooo good! I mean really really good. Almost made up for the lobster..... ALMOST. The stuffed grouper filling was yummy. Very flavorful, not too bready and I had a few shrimp (never found the lobster or scallops) but it was good nonetheless. The grouper part (main course) was SO CHARRED. If I didn't order takeout I would have really sent it back. The flavor on the fish was non existent. I made up for it by dipping the fish into the stuffing wine sauce. Without it I was just eating charred, bland fish. Even with those flaws I can honestly say it wasn't dry like the lobster. I would return to give Em another shot because they had potential. But today some of the food was off of the mark.

Came here for a birthday celebration during Sunday brunch. The food was good, but not the best. My biggest problem was our server (who according to our printed receipt was Alex D.) he provided terrible customer service. About half way through our brunch he brought over our tabs which made everyone look around thinking who asked for our tabs? Then about every 10-15 minutes he would walk to our table and open up a booklet to see if we had our cards inside so that he can cash us out... Beyond annoying. Most servers who want to get the tab out of the way would at least say "whenever you are ready" or "no rush" it was very obvious that this waiter wanted us out. Not only was our waiters entire demeanor unacceptable with our checks, but one of the guests accidentally signed a 15$ tip on MY card (a tip to a waiter who didn't deserve a penny) and he refused to void my tab and continued to tip himself 15$ because "it would be complicated". I left with bad customer service experience and feeling like I got robbed. Definitely will not be back and will recommend my friends and family to avoid City Fish Grill like the plague.

Very nice Restaraunt but service was slow. Magnetotail flatbread was the BEST I had. Tuna was outstanding but the sauce was to much. Grouper was good. All in all I would come back.

Large, lively and lots to like about this independently-owned and operated Oldsmar restaurant. Great place to meet/eat that enables to you actually enjoy conversation while also enjoying nicely priced drinks and well done, well proportioned food presentations. Have to hold off on giving it a higher rating until I try the sushi, the Sunday brunch (that sounds amazing and very reasonably priced) or the newly added Saturday brunch. Bartenders, the hostess and the server were all quite accommodating on a somewhat busy Saturday night. Our group started at the indoor tiki bar - which is a fun touch - and when the table was ready for us to be seated we did not set any speed records for settling up the bar tab before relocating that did not seem to put our table at risk of being re-assigned and we were soon well situated in a booth. From early evening until after 9 p.m. the place seemed to be steadily busy and food appeared to be flowing out of the kitchen fast enough to keep up with the demand. The server was quite helpful in terms of reciting and repeating specials and side dishes and checked back periodically throughout the evening to help with some special requests. This is a seafood and chop house and our orders proved the culinary staff is adept at preparing both with zest and finesse. This is also a full service dining experience (no ordering at the counter and waiting for your number to be called) and a dining room that features subdued lighting, interesting artwork and a layout that does not make you feel crowded or cramped. Good place to know and a good place to go!

Sunday brunch includes unlimited Bloody Marys, mimosas, and mojitos with a divergent selection of food. Meats for days, omelets, sushi, crab legs, pizza, taco bar, chocolate fountain. The seafood was very good, especially shrimp and grits. Dessert selection was unimpressive, but who has room for dessert? There was about a 45-minute wait, but they let us start our unlimited drinks during that time. Our waiter was great, but the bartender was surly when we asked for more Worcestershire sauce for the Bloody Marys.

City Fish is pretty awesome. The Chilean Sea Bass dinner is out of this world! The sushi is good. I've always had great service here for dinner. I used to frequent the Sunday champagne brunch here, before I got involved with singing in a Church Choir but it's been a while since I've been back. I have to put this on my calendar again, as writing this review is reminding me of what I'm missing every Sunday! The brunch is fantastic. Mimosas and bloody Mary's are served. The bar contains sushi, oysters, fish, shrimp, shrimp and grits, all the breakfast favorites including wonderful eggs Benedicts. The atmosphere is casual, but there's also an upscale feel to this restaurant as well. Can't wait to go back!

I love this place! The menu rocks, the brunch is the best in the Bay! Stop by Ashley's bar...she makes the best most tastiest drinks! I won't drink anywhere else...who needs to when the food is yummy, the drinks are perfect, the staff rocks and Ashley is behind the bar making magic lol. I love their bar, it's like "Cheers" everyone knows your name and it's a fun atmosphere!

I'm rounding up from a 3.5 stars here because I really waivered back and forth. The bad: Service was spotty with great attention for about 1/3 of my group's dinner but less-than-amazing for the rest of the meal. We found ourselves looking around a few times. When our server was there, she was very pleasant. I also take issue with establishments who do not have a printed beer list if they have a good selection on tap. Not that City Fish is lined with draugt pulls, but there were more than the server could remember and I would have liked to review my choice for more time. The good: The atmosphere is nice with the floorplan broken up for intimacy and a very nice back patio for nights that allow it. Everyone was nice. The 3 appetizers we ordered were tasty. The great: This is what pushed me to award a 4th star. On the recommendation of my old boss, I ordered the blueberry filet. It is one of the specialties, highlighted in a little golden box on the back of the menu and for good reason. Ermagourd, was it ever delicious! The way the saltiness of the meat and blue cheese played against the sweet blueberry reduction amazed my mouth with each delectable bite. I would recommend it on the lesser side of medium to fully enjoy the flavor. A charred tinge could potentially lessen the impact, but your choice. Overall, a good safe choice with an extensive menu that is sure to have something for most everyone.

I was visiting Dunedin, Florida and went to City Fish for brunch with a group. The food was excellent. The salmon was moist and delicious. I enjoyed the veggie rolls with ginger. The scrambled eggs were moist. The drinks were at the bar with a good selection. My sister loved the crab legs. Our waiter, Alex was wonderful and attentive. He even cleared plates that were finished thoroughly. He was pleasant, courteous, and an asset to your restaurant!! Thanks Alex! I will go to your restaurant on my next visit to Florida from California. Theresa L.

I have heard of the Sunday brunch for a long long while now but have never tried it out. We finally made it this weekend. What deliciousness! This was an amazing spread and great value. Some of the sterno warmed dishes (like the egg Benedict) was meh - it wasn't hot enough to be super tasty but I think the endless snow crab, salmon, sushi and other treats made up for it. The (also) endless mojitos, margaritas, sangria, mimosas and bloody Mary's helped too! Try this place out. I will definitely be going back!

City Fish was very good! Our server was amazing and he was very kind and accommodating to our party of 14. My only complaint would be for the valet- there was only one guy working on a Friday night. I think at least two should have been there, especially on the weekend. Other than that, my dining experience was great and I really want to come for their Sunday brunch.

I am looking forward to trying the Sunday brunch but not sure that I would return for dinner. While there is something for everyone on the menu there is plenty for higher priced items. Overall the food was decent to good but the service was lacking. Hubby and I went here because he wanted to go someplace new and different. We started with a cup of Zuppa di Pesce, She Crab Soup, and Calamari. The soups were good nothing to special, the zuppa was a little heavy on the salt. Somehow our waitress put in 2 orders of calamari ok whatever. The waitress didn't actually bring any food to the table so when we got our check at the end there was 2 calamari listed even though they took one back after we told them that there was only supposed to be one order. As for the calamari there was just something off with the batter. The actually squid was cooked well but the overall taste was not right and it wasn't crispy. The banana and cherry peppers were just piled on top and did nothing to add to the calamari. The pomodoro sauce that came with the calamari was boring and nothing special. I knew that I would be rather full after soup and calamari so I ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad for my dinner. Overall this was a tasty dish, it was heavy on the dressing. I am not sure that any of the Tuna was really seared and nothing was cut up. Looking back at the menu there was supposed to be Haas Avocado but I don't remember it being on the salad and I don't see it in the picture. Hubby had the Lobster and Shrimp Pasta which was tasty. I had a few bites for quality control but it was a heavy dish so we ended up taking half of it home for his lunch the next day. We decided to take our chance and end our meals with dessert so we shared the White Chocolate Crème Brulee. This was the best part of our meal with one flaw. The whipped cream that they heaped on plate was horrible, it tasted so watery I am not sure how it held its form.

My husband took me here on our 4th date over 3 years ago. Although we haven't been back (probably because it was a little pricey and he's done swooning me ;) I do remember it being good. Since it was when we were dating, I have no idea how much the bill was, but I do remember it wasn't cheap. The food was tasty and I think this is more of a nice date place instead of an every day restaurant. It's located in oldsmar, which lacks restaurants so it does pretty good.

Thank you America for the concept of a buffet. Thank you America for being such a wonderful place of gluttony and fatness. I love you. This was my second trip in a month with my girlfriend. First one was dinner, and I forgot to write a review and I forgot what I ate but we both really enjoyed it. While there, the server told us about their Sunday brunch buffet, which includes everything you can possibly imagine, plus unlimited mimosas, sangria, mojito, and margaritas, all for about $25 +/- per person. Seriously, why would you pass this up? You wouldn't, and if you would, please come a bit closer, so I can smack the stupid out of you. Lets start with the bad. No french toast, which is a major fail for a brunch buffet. Also their waffles and pancakes are really subpar. That should cause a loss of more than one star, but everything else was good enough to help avoid losing more than one. That said, the chef does deserve to have the pancakes and waffles thrown at him. The good - crab legs are included, and they will even boil them to heat them up for you. Omelet station has everything you could want in an Omelet and then some. Carving station is turkey, ham, roast beef, and salmon. They have au jus and turkey gravy. Obviously, they have eggs, sausage, bacon, egg benedicts, breakfast potatoes, and grits. They have paella, and wings, and pizza, and meatballs. They have so much more I am forgetting. They have a chocolate fountain for dessert that I am sure little kids have stuck their fingers in or sneezed in and now I am going to throw up. Hold on... Anyway...Kiddie germs in the chocolate aside, this was a very high quality buffet. It's amazing how they can only charge what they do. The only other drawback to the buffet is that the unlimited drinks are weak. Very. You expect that for an unlimited thing for a low cost, but if you stick with mimosas, like I did, you are going to drink a lot of orange juice. However, like I said, you would expect that when you get unlimited alcoholic beverages included in your meal, especially if you're only paying $25 or so.

Visited City Fish with a group of about 10 on a weeknight. The restaurant was within walking distance from our hotel, which was perfect for a group of weary travelers who wanted a low key dinner. The restaurant was not at all crowded. Our service was excellent. Everything came out as ordered, and our glasses were never empty. They had a nice wine selection and lots of choices on the menu. Our party ordered things from pasta to seafood to ribs, and everyone enjoyed their meal. I ordered grilled mahi mahi and it was fresh and cook to perfection. Great choice!

You can't go wrong with the brunch - either the plated Saturday or the buffet Sunday! The plated Saturday brunch offers exciting benedict choices, as well as a slew of other options! The Sunday buffet brunch is amazing - there are so many fresh, delicious options. Even the pickiest eater (me!) was stuffed walking out the door. They have a nice bottomless drink option for brunch (for $10 with an entree on Saturday or included in the $30ish on Sunday) where you can customize your own mimosas, mojitos and bloody mary's etc. Definitely give City Fish a try, just be prepared to be in a food coma afterwards!

It's just not that great. When you steer away from the fish items on the menu at a seafood restaurant something is definitely wrong. I have eaten here 20 times in the last few years: business dinners force my attendance, I would never eat here of my own free will. I never come away impressed. This restaurant is located on a busy street in the middle of a hotel/restaurant area. It offers nothing but clean floors and an outback steakhouse decor, no offense to outback steakhouse. The service is always one step away from good, servers who know the menu, which items to push, and really don't offer much else, because they don't eat there. They never know whats on tap, mostly but not completely, they are slow, sloppy, and generally just not friendly. The food is mediocre, I honestly don't know what people think when they eat there and write a good review. Do they have taste buds, are they all from up north, where they don't get a lot seafood, who knows, the food is just not Tampa worthy. Frozen fish, frozen appetizers, bland sauces, and tiny portions do not make for a good experience. If you have the time, do some quick searches and find a real seafood restaurant.

Worst meal ever. Grouper was overcooked and tough and had a nasty smoky flavor. Asparagus was huge, ridiculously smoky and cooked in a bland grody oil. Messed up my drink order and had rude wait staff to boot. Will never return.

Food was ok service was painfully slow. No drink refills. Waited 10 minutes for waitress to bring us our change.

"For Sunday Brunch buffet ...Absolutely awesome! -Good, plentiful food and nice ambiance." Linked up with friends here for Sunday brunch. Not only did they have the traditional omelet station and various "brunch" foods, they also had Paella, Italian type meat & cheeses, sushi, plenty of fresh fruit and crab legs. The staff we quick to clean up not only our plates but the serving areas as well. For the price it was Outstanding. This is some of the best food. Everything is prepared to be appealing to the sight and smell. Check it out if you're in the neighborhood. read less

Not over thrilled with this restaurant. The service was extremely slow. Although we had a larger group, the restaurant was nearly empty. It took longer than average to get a drink refill. The grouper tacos were average. The grouper was prepared blackened. The remoulade sauce served on the top was extremely spicy. And when I say spicy, I mean that I absolutely love hot food, but this left me feeling like I was breathing fire....like literally charring the hair of my guests across the table. It totally killed the overall grouper flavor. When I brought it to the attention of the server, he agreed that it was pretty spicey. There was no mention of this tied bit in the menu or when I was ordering. It was served with your choice of side. The beans and rice were average, nothing to write home about. Honestly the menu was a spitting image of Bone Fish. In fact, they have Volcano Shrimp on the menu too...hello bang bang....get creative people! Can't say I'll be walking through their doors any time soon.

A little too cold and dark inside for my taste, but delightful outside. We came on a Saturday night and they had live music going on outside. The outside seating area had a little bit of a tiki vibe with an outdoors bar. Even though we are in the middle of the summer, it was the perfect temperature. They have a lot of great flavored mojitos. I ended up getting a mango mojito, but they also have a peach and a strawberry. The first mojito was very good, but the second was extremely heavy handed on the rum. My friend who got a vodka orange juice had to get more orange juice, because it was so strong on the vodka. That would be a plus if we were younger, but at this age, I rather have a better tasting drink. I ended up getting the Caesar Salad, because I wasn't hungry. It was good and extremely well priced. My fiance got a surf and turf combo of ribeye and blackened jumbo shrimp. The blackened jumbo shrimp was good, but a little on the salty side. It worked really well with my salad though. Our waitress was very slow. It took forever to get drinks and to get food. It was as if we were on island time, while not being on an island. This was fine since I was with a good group of friends, but otherwise it might bother me more. Overall I like this place and would suggest it to friends.

The Sunday brunch here is da bomb!!! Yes, it's pricey $29.90, BUT it includes all you can drink [help yourself at the bar] of Bloody Mary's (you add your own condiments and vodka), ready made Mojito's, Margaritas, Sangria (FAB!!) and Mimosas. The selection was amazing...ceviche, cedar plank salmon, sushi, breakfast pizza, taco bar, oysters, crab legs, fresh carved meats, omelets, and your standard breakfast items. PLUS a chocolate fountain, waffles, french toast strips, pancakes, bagels and muffins. I mean stuff yourself to the max! The ONLY issue I had was our waitress. Though extremely friendly, she brought over our checks when we were sitting there, with food on our plates, and just chatting. We had 7 at our table and we took our time, for this price we were NOT rushing. So we had her put them on the booth seat. Then at one point, we had our plates cleared, but still talking and drinking, and contemplating what else to get, she handed out the checks again. and PUT one down right in front of my face...I was NOT happy about that, but we just laughed it off (thanks to the delish drinks) and paid her right away because it seemed she was in a hurry!! LOL Other than that, highly recommend!!! I will go back...

The drinks at happy hour was a nice price, 241. We ordered Bombay & ginger ale. The drink was too sweet but not shy on the alcohol. So maybe the "ginger ale" was not ginger ale. The food was OK. We ordered the surf and turf (filet and lobster tail) and Chilean sea bass. The steak had a good taste but could have been juicier. Lobster tail was excellent. The Chilean sea bass had a nice texture but lack flavor. The vegetables (green beans and asparagus) were very good. The service was just OK. He could have been more attentive. For dropping over $100 for 2 people to dine, I expected better. Please note this is our second time. We visited about 2 years ago. It seemed better then.

Have dined here 20+ times in the last year, tried the brunch once (brunch: lots of offerings and great value, I found the meats extremely salty), both of our two recent experiences were less than desirable. Ordered a gift certificate online, When we used it in the restaurant it has a zero balance. This turned into a 15 minute inconvenience, after already being disappointed with the sushi (it was warm in temperature). What made us uncomfortable was the fact that the person who had to rectify our gift card issue was sitting on the other side of the bar area less than 20 ft away. It appeared as if he was using one of the bar tables as his office- fine. But when a guest has an issue it would of been nice for it to seem like a priority to resolve it as soon as possible. I felt bad for the bar tender, he repeatedly apologized for the delay and indicated he was waiting for his manager, who later brought the card back to him without saying anything to us on the other side of the bar. We came back again for dinner, assuming our issues were due to shift change or lunch crew. I ordered the sea bass which was great, my boyfriends sushi was warm again. No issues cashing out or with service. Prior to those experiences we really enjoyed coming to the bar for sushi and drinks. We also brought family in for dinner at a table and enjoyed it very much- the ribs were a favorite. Three stars here as when it's good, it's great... But the lack of consistency has made us replace city fish as our go to spot... We will be back again when the restaurant is "in season" rather than during the spring and summer months, and likely staying away from sushi from now on.

Never got in. Came in from out of town and called the day before to get a reservation for mothers day and was told it was first come first served. Got there and was told flat out "no" from the older gentlemen behind the counter and when I tried talking to him he just pretended I wasn't there and gave me a why are you still here look. As a small business owner I would be livid if an employee treated a guest like that. Went down the street to Flamestone instead and had a wonderful time..

I've been to City Fish a number of times. I've had dinner here a couple of times. On my recent visit I went for lunch, and from the sounds of it, my next venture here will have to be for Sunday Brunch. Boom... Trifecta bound. This place is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Pinellas. The food is great, and the restaurant design is elegant with a touch of tropical. I've also been lucky enough to have great servers each time. Parking can get a bit hectic and the food can be pricey but it's worth it. This is one of those places I don't mind spending extra for the quality and atmosphere.

We stopped in for lunch and were delightfully surprised at this establishment. The decor is very attractive with a tropical, Tommy Bahama feel to it. Of course, fish and seafood are the main attraction. They have about eight specialty sandwiches with meat they smoke or cook in-house and hand carve each order. I opted for the pastrami Reuben and was not disappointed. The fish and seafood options on the menu are endless and we are looking forward to returning for an evening meal here. Our waiter said it is best to make a reservation has they have a very popular following.

"Meh" about says it. The ambiance is okay - I did like the porch, which is air conditioned but still feels like it's outside. They didn't have a great selection of beer, food was just okay. We had fish and chips and steak/scallops. Not terrible; not great. Service was excellent. I'd probably go back and try something different.

First experience with the place. Indoor and outdoor seating. Decor is nice and the layout of the restaurant is nice if you are on a date. Went with a friend of mine for happy hour. Very nice happy hour offers-wish they had food happy hour offers as well! But overall good drink specials. We were the first at the bar but they filled up very quickly. It seemed like the bartenders knew many of the bar patrons which tells me they have a bar following. When looking at the menu they have a nice variety flatbread, burgers, pasta, nicer entree specials. They are more of a seafood restaurant. I started with the Oyster Rockefeller. You get half dozen for 8.9. Wow what a deal it was-the oysters were huge! Probably one of the best I have had in awhile-almost ordered a second round but wanted to try the flatbread. I also ordered the steak and bleu cheese flatbread. Cost around 12 dollars and was well worth it! Another huge item on their menu- had to take most of it home. The flatbread had tons of steak-cooked medium rare with bleu cheese, red peppers, and mushrooms. Only thing I would have added is a balsamic glaze to add a little sweetness. Overall it was a great experience! Too bad I live on the other side of town or I would come here more often. If you are thinking about trying city fish let me know about the main entrees. I would like to bring my husband here sometime!

Amazing... The only word I could think. Visiting (and moving ;) ) from Virginia, my girlfriend and I wanted crab legs in florida... All week... As much as we could get. It is surprisingly hard to find all you can eat... Until this AMAZING establishment blessed us one sudsy morning brunch. All you can DRINK (mimosas, margs, screwdrivers, bloody Mary's, even mojitos!) AND all you can eat surf and turf. Lackluster sushi lost them a star but the raw crabs you had cooked right in front of you makes up for it! Not a seafood fan? Well you're gonna over pay for the rest but all the best breakfast and deserts is nice too! Averaged about 60$ after tip... I never know how to tip at a buffet

Bad experience at this restaurant. I ordered a dozen of fresh oyster but it does not look fresh at all. All dozen are small pieces that looks like left over from the buffet brunch. I also ordered baked oyster but it was served cold and raw under cheese and spinach that has not melted. You can taste the oyster shell bits inside the cheese and spinach.

Simply not good! My steak was mostly fat and came out cold the first time!!! The food was greasy and the glaze tastes like it was from a can! No joke! I'd recommend going somewhere else for dinner than this place! I may go barf this slop up in their bathroom before I leave!

Have been here a few times now for brunch. Price is fantastic at $27 a person including the buffet and all you can drink bloody mary's, mimosas, margaritas, sangria, and mojitos. Drinks are ok. It's a small area and a lot of people trying to get drinks. Found out the second time that the server will bring them to you if you ask. You can also ask the bartender to "kick up" the champagne in the mimosas and he is a very nice guy who will gladly help you out! Cons on the buffet are the sushi (just okay rolls, not great), Caesar salad, some of the breakfast stuff (seasoning lacked) meatballs and flat breads. Pros are the carving stations (salmon, beef are fantastic!), chocolate fountain (duh) and the oysters and crab legs are wonderful (crab legs always super sweet) After the service being just good the past few times, I was super happy today to meet Tara B. She was a fantastic server (this coming from a bartender/server for over 7 years). She was attentive and very helpful with giving us some insider tips (like getting your crab legs steamed at the carving station...something the past servers left out). I will definitely go back and I will definitely be requesting Tara! Cheers!

Spent $180 on takeout tonight for one (1) person. Wanted a steak and lobster and didn't care what it cost really. What's so appalling though is the service standards here. The menu clearly copies other popular chains like Hillstone and a hodge-podge of others they've cherry-picked ideas from. That's fine. So are the prices. But you have to deliver great service (you can't just copy better menus from better restaurants and deliver below what they do just because you're in a tier III market). I was seated by a high school hostess and a raggedy server named Joseph greeted me with, "Hey, buddy. What's up, man? You do'n okay tonight pal?". Uh...seriously? That's the greeting and service style with these check averages? They'd give you a better greeting next door at BW3 for dollar beer night and $7 wings specials. And if I wanted road-side-dinner or a run-down Ale House of standards, I would have stopped at any number of other places like, uh, Applebee's or that horror of a Roadhouse knock-off, Cody's. You can't charge prices like The Palm, Capital Grille, Hillstone; and then deliver service akin to amateur night at Applebee's. Not expecting white-glove service, but not paying $180 for this terribly underpeforming delivery of hospitality. But, the good news is that after I explained this to the manager, he said they would actually give me the upgraded side dish I ordered if I wanted to make the 25 minute return trip back. Oh, yeah, just how I'd like to spend another 40 minutes - doing another roundtrip there for a $4.50 side dish upgrade I paid for but didn't receive.

Food is just ok, with the exception of fish. It's overpriced, and coated with breadcrumbs. I assume the point is so we don't notice that the fish isn't as fresh as someone would want, but it adds an undesirable poorly tasting bread flavor to the fish. Even the lobster tail had this disgusting breading. City fish is not a good place for fresh fish.

I'm not really seeing what everyone else is seeing in City Fish. Almost everyone at our table felt pretty "meh" about their food. The service was good, although our waitress was a little odd. The food took forever to come out, but I'm sure that problem lied more with the kitchen than with her. The drinks were questionable. First off, their water is TERRIBLE. Just don't get a water, trust me. The sweet tea was also pretty bad. I actually had to ask if it was sweetened, because I thought she had mistakenly given me unsweetened tea. Same goes for the mojito of one of our dining companions. There was almost zero sweetness to it. Maybe they're running low and rationing sugar in the back? Idk. As for the food, we started with calamari. The flavor was good, but it was quite chewy and over cooked. For my entree, I got the Bimini stuffed grouper. The grouper itself was quite bland. It seemed they relied solely on the sauce for flavor, but there wasn't much sauce to go around. It was stuffed with crab (didn't see any), shrimp (slightly tough and overcooked), and scallops (sadly tiny and chewy). Again, it wasn't bad, but for the price ($24) it should have been MUCH better. My husband said he's had better fish at Red Lobster. The two diners that had salmon, my husband being one of them, said that it was a bit dry. Not bad, but not great. My mother in law, who was the birthday girl, really enjoyed her scallops, so at least there was one solid win in there. All in all, I was really looking forward to some good seafood and was pretty disappointed, especially considering the price point. Chances are good that we won't be coming back.

A gem within Oldsmar. A nice mix of meat and seafood, great menu and refreshing drinks. The blueberry filet is my go-to dish, however the surf and turf is really nice too because you can mix and match. I would avoid the blackened seasoning, I enjoy cajun cuisine quite a bit, but everytime I get something like scallops or shrimp blackened, the seasoning is pretty gross and I wish I hadn't. Besides that you really can't go wrong. Jeff is our favorite server, really great guy.

Delightful restaurant. Chicken pasta was excellent and service was great. Wish it was closer to my house but a definite stop when I am in Oldsmar. Selected this for a business lunch based on Yelper reviews. I can always count on Yelpers to point me in right direction.

This place was perfect for brunch. I'm fairly confident it was the busiest place for miles. Staff was really friendly and even hand delivered salmon when it ran out at the buffet. Top three things to try: salmon, crab legs and the meatballs! Everything was included including unlimited mimosas, Bloody Mary bar, and sangria. Definitely would come back!

My family and I were thinking of a place to go get some seafood other than our usual spot, Red Lobster. After looking around on Yelp, I found City Fish again, so we said let's go there. I first called ahead to reserve a table just to ensure that we wouldn't be waiting on a Friday night. When we got there, we were immediately seated, even though the restaurant was pretty packed. After we were seated, the server gave us our menus and took our drink orders right away. The menu is pretty large with your typical food you'd expect to find, seafood, salads, pasta's and so on. We decided to start with the shrimp and lobster flat bread, which was delicious. For the main course, I chose the shrimp and lobster pasta, which came as a rather large portion with some garlic bread, and was absolute delicious. Overall, our food was great, the potatoes au gratin are to die for, highly recommend them as a side. The only reason I am not giving five stars is because of the server. We waited almost 15 minutes before he came back after we got our appetizers to order our main course. It appeared as if he was focusing more on a group of 8 that he had in his section, then the rest of us. Will definitely be coming back here.

Too bad a great birthday celebration turned bad. We were never asked if we wanted another drink to celebrate. We all felt we were rushed, Our meal came to the table when we were half way through our appetizers and my 3 other companions were 1/2 way through their salad. I had 5 oysters left and had to inhale them because the entree was at the table. My tasty oyster appetizer was ruined by rushing the oysters down. Two sides, string beans & spinach was too salty to eat. By that time we did not know to blame, we just wanted to leave. We refused desert. Unfortunately for us, we did leave a good tip only because the Lobster, swordfish, and the sea bass was ok but luke warm.

Hard to find a decent Sunday buffet in Tampa Bay anymore. Rated two for numerous reasons: for example, the hot carving station has no accompaniments at all to the ham, salmon, turkey or beef they offer. On a previous visit the turkey melted in your mouth, this time it was tough. They were serving and slicing from left over pieces at 11:00 am until we left at 2 pm. Typical breakfast items, and omelet station, dessert items w chocolate fountain and waffles is so so. Paella doesn't use yellow or Spanish rice- tastes like the chopped up ingredients and rice were cooked separately. A lot of the food was not hot, just lukewarm. The oysters were ice cold on previous visit, this time they were not cold- which is bad. Did not partake of the sushi, meatballs or pizza so no comment there. On ANOTHER VISIT WE HAD THE LOBSTER WHICH TASTED LIKE IT WAS THREE YEARS OLD, OVERCOOKED AND THE TOUGHEST WE'VE EVER HAD. Service-wise, we have no complaints. Both times the servers were attentive and helpful. For $30 a head, not including tax and tip, the Free Mixed Drinks are a nice feature, but the the mediocre and inconsistent food quality and limited selection make it a two in my judgement. We aren't going to return.

We started off with volcano shrimp appetizer which was delicious. Then I ordered the filet with asparagus and it was cooked to perfection! Service was as expected not outstanding but also not horrible as other reviewers stated. My husband ordered the Bimini grouper which he said was very tasty. We both left full and happy!

Delicious seafood restaurant. I visited Tampa on business, and ate a solo dinner. I tried their Tampa Surprise (or Special?) sushi roll, and a tuna salad. Dinner was pretty good, and in line with what I expected for a midpriced seafood restaurant. They had steaks, too, though I didn't try any.

I went to brunch today with great expectations. I left unfulfilled. We had a party of 12 with a reservation at 12:45 and showed up 15 min early. We were told it would be another 15 min as the table was still occupied but about to leave. No worries, we had a view of the table in question, and full access to the mimosa, Bloody Mary, sangria bar etc. We watched as our table got up and cleared. Then we noticed as a party of 8 started sitting down at our 12 top. They apparently decided it was too hot out and that our table was a good spot to sit down. We alerted the host staff who said this was "acceptable". In other words, they didn't have the cojones to tell the people that that wasn't their table and to move. We asked to speak to a manager who apologized, but made no move to ask the other party to leave. We ended up in the back where part of the buffet is normally set 20 minutes after out set reservation time. Fail. The good. For the money, one of the best buffets in the Bay Area for the price. $27 get you all you can eat and all you can drink from the aforementioned self serve mimosa etc bar. My mother in law may have eaten her weight in crab legs and oysters and the chocolate fountain was a hit with the 3 kids. Ok, some of the adults as well :) Disappointed in the management and the fact that a gratuity was built in to the total (I thought there was a federal law banning this). Large groups beware. You may have to fight for your table to sit down at the reserved time.

First visit for my wife and I on a Wednesday evening. Atmosphere was nice but nothing you haven't seen many times before. Started with soup and salad - Cesar Salad (anchovies was a welcomed option) had too much dressing for my taste. Seafood soup was good although lacked that fresh feeling you want with seafood. Wife ordered filet and it truly was excellent and cooked perfectly!!! I ordered Cedar Salmon, it was a over cooked but tasted ok. Service was average, had much better at less expensive restaurants. Other nights might get a 4, this was just my experience tonight.

Food is very good. I am local and was there very early (read that as 5 pm) and both times was not offered the two for twenty five special .... Had to ask. Is it a secret ?... Felt rushed .... Asking about desert while we were still eating and never asked if we wanted coffee....off to Starbucks after .... A nice yelp deal check in and get a free happy hour drink ....made well. And a nice gesture just next time can I get less ice so it is more than two sips. I will be back and hope for the best

My girlfriend and I dined at this seafood establishment after watching some movies over at the AMC in Westshore. I have driven past the City Fish Grill a couple times and from the road it is a very attractive restaurant and that is part of the reason why I wanted to dine at the establishment. I first checked Yelp and saw the majority of the reviews were positive so off to the Grill we went. Upon entering we were impressed with the interior not too fancy it seemed just right. We cozied up to the bar and met Chris the bartender. Chris was extremely friendly and answered all of our questions. Since this was our first time there we asked Chris what he would get and he recommend the sushi, the grouper tacos, and the flatbreads. I was a little surprised by the third recommendation since this is a seafood restaurant. So we started off with the Spicy Tuna Roll. The roll was good..it wasn't the best that I have had but it was pretty good. The tuna was fresh and flavorful and the rice was good...all around it was good sushi. Next came our entrees which we spit. I ordered the grouper tacos and my girlfriend ordered the buffalo chicken flatbread. The tacos were OK not really good not bad...just OK. The breading was light but the fish was not evenly coated and some pieces of the grouper were hot and others were kinda cold . The tacos had potential but there was a lot of spicy mayo sauce on the tacos...maybe a little too much. I can't comment on the flat breads at the City Fish Grill because we never ate it. When the server brought out the flatbread from the kitchen it was cold so we notified Chris and he took the flat bread back as told us we would get a new fresh and hot flatbread. It took about five minutes but the Manager came out with the flatbread and apologized about the cold food and bought our round of beers. After the Manager left, we noticed he brought the same re-heated flatbread minus one piece..opps I guess the cook was hungry. We told Chis and he apologized again and took the flatbread back. I told him not to worry about the flatbread and that we were good with just the tacos. I wanted to like this restaurant, but there are just so many good place to eat and to try in the bay area I doubt we will return.

3.5 Stars Based solely on Sunday brunch. $24 per person for an all you can eat and drink brunch sounds like a deal to me... sort of. Honestly I think buffets represent all that is wrong with the ever-so overindulgent American population... but I can't complain since I went here. I think you have to try it once and decide for yourself. Recommended for people who: Love to drink a lot of alcohol in the morning Love to eat a lot of seafood and carved meats Love to eat a lot period Don't mind room-temperature food that is normally served hot. Not recommended for people who: Have small stomachs Exercise portion control Like food HOT. Our experience probably would have been way better if we had a server that did their job properly. It was our first time here. Our server did not explain ANYTHING. He didn't smile once. He was efficient at clearing plates and refilling drinks, but nothing else. I saw another server explain everything to her table. What do I mean by this? Well... While the selection of food items was impressive, the temperature was not. Most food was luke warm at best. One of my sister's complaints was the crab legs were cold. While we were checking out, we saw the table behind us get served a steaming hot plate of crab legs. Apparently if you wanting something right out of the cooker, you can ask and get it. If we had known that, probably 4.5 stars would be awarded. Notes: Salmon benedict - fantastic Scrambled eggs - super fluffy and available in a few delicious styles Bloody mary bar - outstanding Chocolate brownie bites - so good and chocolately and fudgy Carving meats - not hot but delicious Paella - rice was sticky and overall just not very good Crab legs - not hot, but super fresh, not fishy at all Pancakes - if you get them hot, they are actually pretty good and there's an awesome selection of butters and toppings Fondue - Yummy!! lots of fresh fruits to dip Croissants - stale Finally, the bathroom is gorgeous. And each individual stall has a good amount of privacy. This is extremely beneficial since all that food is going to force some other things to come out. Bottom line: We were not totally disappointed, but will not be back from brunch.

Called them to see if they could accommodate a vegan. They offered a plain salad or as some may call it, a plate of lettuce. Usually a sign that veggies and pastas are prepackaged and not fresh. No offer for pasta with veggies or a risotto with veggies. The group went elsewhere.

Excellent food! We bought the Groupon deal of 7 off-menu courses for $85 (feeds 2). Incredible food! They forgot the ahi tuna nachos, so we had to ask. Also, menu claimed "four desserts" and we were only served 3 and waiter claimed "there's only three". Did I mention how good the food was? We are *S-T-U-F-F-E-D*!!!!!

After seeing the good reviews and reading the menu, I had high hopes for City Fish. Unfortunately, I walked away mildly disappointed. I dropped in around 6PM on a Tuesday evening, and although the restaurant was surprisingly busy, I was seated immediately. The server came by quickly, and I ordered a 2-for-1 (happy hour) glass of wine along with a grilled Mahi Mahi entree with Ponzu sauce. About 10 minutes later, the server told me the complimentary bread was burnt, so they had to put another in. About 15 minutes after that, he finally returned with my bread and oil, and within 60 seconds my entree came. It would've been nice to munch on some bread, while waiting, rather than just staying hungry for over 20 minutes. The fish was nicely grilled although a little salty. Sadly, it came with their "diablo sauce" rather than the ponzu I had ordered. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I ordered, and luckily I can handle spicy foods just fine. Otherwise, I would've had to send it back. The decor and location is nice, but in the end the poor service and just mediocre food is what counts, and City Fish doesn't come through.

Go for the Sunday brunch, its not the best in Tampa Bay but one of the better ones in the area. They serve mimosas, bloody marys, sushi, paella, omelets, shrimp grits, and so on. You can sit and eat inside or outside. Been here numerous times and the food has always been good. Why only 2 stars, because I would only go for the brunch not on a other regular day. You get a better value on the Sunday Brunch. Secondly, I'm very dissatisfied with how they handle reservations, especially during a holiday or special event. I called a month in advanced to make a reservation for Mother's Day, first told they were too busy to take it call back later, call a couple hours later and was told only the manager could take the reservation and he was gone for the day, called again the next day, they took my reservation and told me I'd get a call on the next day to confirm it... Call never came, I call back and told they are booked. This is just one of multiple scenarios. Found it surprisingly unprofessional. I expect better service. Will they get my business in the future... Doubtful.

I have been here a few times since my last review. I must they they even got us in on Mother's Day. I was surprised that their restaurant wasn't as full as I had expected, however. All in all I am happy with the restaurant. Their food is really great and I haven't had a thing I haven't liked.

Service was horrible. Stood waiting for a hostess for about 10 mins. Someone came over and asked if they could help us and I'm like "yeah I'm waiting to be seated" why else would I be standing there? Timed how long it would take to get drinks and at about the 8 minute mark my bf and I walked out to go elsewhere. The food looked good, pricey but good. Couldn't tell u how it tasted.

Good food but their on line ordering system needs help. I placed an order on line. Once I arrived they had no record of it being submitted. The manager on duty apologized and bought me a drink for the inconvenience.

Had reservations for brunch on Sunday. Took my mom for a belated Mother's Day brunch. By far one of the best Brunches I have been to. I have tried many different restaurants and have left feeling it was not worth the cost. I definitely did not feel that here. The food was phenomenal and service was great. On top of that Mom was happy and felt very special for going to such a great location. Highly recommend

We decided to try City Fish last night for the first time. The interior is beautiful and the restaurant is very inviting. We were seated immediately and the drink order was taken right away. Per the recommendation of other reviews we ordered the Seafood Tower appetizer. It was amazingly good and plenty for 3 of us. The tuna tartare was excellent and very reminiscent of the tuna poke we recently had in Maui -- Yum! When dinner came our appetizer plates (which are very large) were still on the table. We hadn't seen our server in a while (which is something I had read in other reviews -- true!) and the guy with the food was cheerily frustrated. He sat one plate on the edge of the table, then while balancing the other two, he cleared the plates to an empty table so that we could have our food. He then took the huge app platter and our dirty plates away as the server walked up to ask how everything looked. My son ordered the Surf and Turf -- pork chop & scallops with mashed potatoes. The scallops were incredible and my son was more than happy with everything on his plate (except the veggies which he won't eat anyway). I would like to note that I love the way they have the Surf and Turf portion of the menu set up -- all of the Turf items are listed with prices, and next to that all of the Surf items are listed with prices -- you can mix and match with no pre-determined combo which is awesome. The whole fried fish was excellent and asparagus was perfectly cooked. I ordered the Mahi Mahi with the bleu cheese scalloped potatoes -- the fish was cooked well but very bland. I actually took some of the mango chutney from the whole fish to give it some flavor. I wasn't impressed by the scalloped potatoes either. They were bland with no bleu cheese flavor. And, not being nit-picky, but the veggies (squash and zucchini) were also bland. I will say that although I was disappointed with my meal, the appetizer and other entrees were excellent, giving me ample reason to try another dish next time. I do want to make a note about the Yelp coupon that you get upon check in with an Android -- it is for Happy Hour use only. Of course we arrived 5 minutes after it was over...ugh... Overall we were very pleased with our visit. Even though my food was bland and the service was slow which should warrant 3 stars, I am giving 4 stars because of how "right" everything else was. We will be back!

I'm a big fan of their Sunday brunch and many of my friends also enjoy the variety and good quality of their Sunday offerings. When I received a coupon for a free Lobster Dinner from City Fish I was sure it was going to be a birthday to remember. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing meal at best. Our waiter managed to convince us we should "upgrade" the free Lobster Dinner from 1 1/4 pound to 2 pounds on account that it was "a better deal" but we ended up paying almost as much for the "upgrade" as the free dinner would have cost, and the tail meat was quite tough to boot. The claw meat was better but, by the time I was done fighting to get it out of the claw, the meat was lukewarm and frankly, I just wanted to get it over with, so not much in the enjoyment department. My companion ordered a lobster and shrimp pasta, and she was not impressed either. From now on I'll be sticking to their Sunday brunch, period.

I haven't been for their acclaimed Sunday brunch only for dinner a few times and luckily in no time crunch because they do a pretty hopping' weekend scene one of the few Oldsmar places to go and be seen We always opt to sit on their patio where its first come great ambience, live music, great for sipping some rum If you show up for happy hour you can redeem the Yelp treat A Free drink can definitely not be beat! If you are seafood lover like me and the hubby Order the seafood tower, it's lean and healthy so you don't get chubby It is filled with oysters, crab legs, shrimp, ceviche, and tuna tartare as far as a good deal to be had, they have raised the bar I always get so filled up with this giant app that I haven't explored the menu, just what's on tap I'll come back to check out the brunch and other menu selections and hopefully I'll find no imperfections!

The Sunday Brunch !!!!! Outstanding, Jeffrey our server was awesome, he made sure our drinks stayed full, plates cleared, and even brought melted butter and wet naps when he saw that I had crab legs, The food was great, really loved the shrimp and grits, cedar plank salmon, breakfast flatbread, Thai wings, cinnamon muffin rolls, crab legs( I like them hot so brought them over to the carving station and they will steam them) and sushi. They had a lot more food out that I tried and everything was hot and delicious. The mix your own Bloody Mary/ mimosa bar was awesome and it comes with your meal, plus the kids loved the chocolate fondue fountain.

City Fish is a beautiful restaurant. It has a very open, fun atmosphere and I like the outdoor patio too. Our server took our drink order right away but didn't come back for our food order for at least 15 minutes. She explained the specials and then said she'd give us a few minutes to decide. Then it was at least 10 more minutes before we even placed appetizer orders. We were really hungry too, so it was a long time to wait just to order our food. She seemed to kind of disappear for a while. That being said, the food was amazing. I shared the volcano shrimp appetizer which was very light and flavorful. For my entree I had the grilled swordfish was very flaky and moist, and it came with garlic mashed potatoes which were simply awesome. Excellent food. Awesome food and great restaurant. I know it was busy, but slow service kept me from rating this as 5 stars.

Good food, terrible service. Went on a weekday for dinner. Our waiter was brief and negligent. We ordered wine and soup, which we were told went well with their pretzel bread. A food runner brought us our soup after a long wait... But no bread. When our waiter finally checked on us, we had already finished our soup. He brought the bread anyway. We then waited 45 MINUTES to receive our entrées (which another food runner, not our server, brought us). Our server said the long wait time is because they can't put in our entree tickets until we finish our soup... Completely ridiculous. Our bill was around $140 plus tip. For spending that much, we expected much better service.

I went for my birthday. My friend made a reservation for 15 a week prior and when we got there, they didn't have the reservation listed on the current day but they did have it when they checked their book. The manager quickly apologized and they pushed tables together and made it work very quickly! Everyone's food was incredible! My steak was perfect! Make sure you have a reservation this place gets packed!!!

We arrived before 5 pm on a Thursday and pretty much had the place to ourselves. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken almost as fast. Our salads were fresh and tasty. We were surprised with the warm bread and olive oil for dipping. Our meals arrived at the perfect time and were delicious

We love City Fish! We go for brunch usually once or twice a month. The food is amazing, the drink options by the bar are great if you are looking for alcoholic beverages and the price is awesome. It's usually the same unfriendly, inattentive servers who take forever to greet you after youve been sat (how hard is it to stay on top of drink refills or check in when we serve our own food) every Sunday we go but this past Sunday was much better. Our server, an older gentleman with glasses, I believe his name was Adam, was GREAT! He was friendly, greeted us promptly, kept our drinks refilled and didnt act like we were an inconvenience like the others usually do. Will definitely ask to be seated in his section from now on. The food and price definitely makes up for the few sour apple servers.
