I really wanted to love this place. The beer garden appealed to me, and the place had a nice warm ambiance, but in the end it doesn't matter when the food and lack of attention aren't there. I brought my family here on Sunday night for dinner. I loved the decor and tho that it would be a great experience. On entering we were greeted immediately. The place was empty but we were seated right by the door (we had the choice to sit anywhere). The only people working in this restaurant were two cooks and a young waitress. I saw no manager on sight and there is no way this young girl could be a manager. I ordered a yeungling draft which arrived cool but not cold. For my meal I ordered the beef brisket and my wife ordered a pork platter with ribs and pulled pork. My brisket arrived pre-sliced in about 12 pieces. It was visibly dry and each piece had a smooth texture where you couldn't even see the grain of the meat. It was as if someone cooked it two days ago and warmed it back up for my dinner. So tried eating it but it was tough and inedible. I ate two pieces and told my waitress. She brought out 5 more pieces of brisket that appeared very fresh and you could see the grain on the meat. It was also tender. She took my remaining brisket back and left me with the 5 pieces. I was thinking that she would bring me a full order back but that was not the case. I received no more brisket. I did not even want to request more because I was disappointed. My wife enjoyed her meal but told me it doesn't compare to the other places in town. I told her that Sonny's would have been far superior. I'm not a bbq expert, but this place falls short at the top. It's my gut feeling that the restaurant takes a more relaxed approach on Sundays and that my experience might have been better on a different day. If this place was smart they would have advertised the games and some dinner specials for the NFL playoffs. Instead it was a slow night with mediocre service and bad food. Will not return.

Split a rack of ribs and the pulled pork and beef brisket combo with a boy friend and took home left overs. You know that you're having an amazing meal when you are too distracted to drink your great beer. Come one night for the meat, come back for dessert.

I stopped by for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The only other patrons were an older couple sitting quietly, eating their food. I was greeted promptly by a friendly server and instructed to sit wherever I liked. As I approached my booth of choice though it appeared to have only been recently vacated as it was still had water rings and crumbs on it from the previous occupants. You'd think w/ such a slow lunch service that the tbale would've been cleaned ASAP. Not a big deal though. Just something I noticed. So, after deciding on a place to sit I began searching the menu hoping to find something that would really jump out at me. I'd heard that the chili and the corn soup were good but with it being 92 degrees outside I wasn't much in the mood. I finally decided on the pulled pork sandwich. I was really craving sweet potato fries but a $2 upcharge deterred that decision. I settled on the homecut french fries instead. The food came out quickly and was served w/ the bottles of barbecue on the side. Unfortunately, the highlight of the meal was the nicely toasted roll the pulled pork came on and the corn muffin that's served on the side. The pork was served piping hot (microwaved, maybe?) but was a bit dry and had no flavor other than some light smoke. I didn't get any hint of a nice dry rub, brine or seasoning what so ever. So I resorted to the most resonable option which is to ladle on the sauce. The tangy gold sauce was very good, not too sweet and not too much mustard either. The other sauces didn't really bring much excitement compared to anything else I've ever had though. The Kanas city sauce was decent but didn't stand out from the crowd and the spicy lacked any real spice. I always give places a second chance so hopefully the next go around will prove more impressive but I'm not optimistic.

Pulled Pork Sliders are awesome. Wifey and I have ordered the brisket, ribs, chicken. All of it is super good. But the one that blew me out of the water was the Mojo Joe Burger. Wow. What a great dish. Wasn't expecting this from a BBQ place. The owner is very nice and great customer service. Also, they sell @darlandbakery cupcakes. Nuff said.

It's a small restaurant in the middle of a strip mall in Ocoee. You really don't expect much from the outside. We had good timing and got a table without wait. They had a little band (very acoustic, not loud) on Saturday night. Terrific selection of craft and domestic beers - 22 oz draft beers! By the time we were seated, at least three groups were in line for the next table. Very popular little place. We were greeted by the owner and he came by the table to ask how it was going a couple of times. The servers were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. Jason started with a bowl of chili - loved it - it had chunks of brisket in it! I had the brisket as well - flavorful and tasty. Fell apart it was so moist! I tried their Apple BBQ sauce and was in heaven - sweetness and spice. He too loved the brisket but he preferred the sweet sauce. All the sauces are handmade and superb. We split a Bananas Foster for dessert - I could have drank the sauce but it wasn't his favorite. Probably will try a different dessert next time. We will definitely be back. They do have beer garden in back for those waiting on tables and it sounded quite nice. I was told yesterday that this business started out as a food truck, so if you remember seeing the truck, now it's a lovely, thriving restaurant.

when you come here, they have the very best shrimp and grits. You won't regret it. Super yum!!!!!! Don't order burnt ends if you don't like fat because it is supposed to be very fatty. Their beef brisket is good. And they have a few BBQ sauce choices! I like the spicy. Enjoy!

What happened? The girlfriend and I came here a couple of times before, thinking the food was decent, but a bit expensive.. But now it's a costly mess. They don't know how to cook a good steak anymore (medium doesn't mean rare, and substituting flavor with "smoke" doesn't help), and the burger was bland. I will say the cornbread was good! And you can't mess up a salad! I would not recommend this place any longer.

My husband and I have been coming to this place since it opened. When we started eating Paleo this was our go to restaurant for wings!!! What a disappointment when I placed an order for pick up. When I got home all our 20 wings were burned!!! And when I say burned I mean burned. We immediately called the restaurant and spoke to Nina. She was very nice and stated that next time we came in she would comp our meal since we were not going to drive all the way back. Today my husband called to place our usual order and was told that they could not comp our meal since we did not come in the same day and bring the charred wings back. I'm very disappointed!! Red Eye you have lost a costumer and I will not be referring anyone else to you :( I'm sure you will still do fine serving people burned food.

I had to come out of Yelp retirement for this restaurant. Full disclosure, we had the food delivered from a food delivery service, so I am very understanding of common issues and not considering them (things like fries being a little less crispy then desired, etc..) What I am considering is the following, the chili was quite good, I would eat that again. My wife's pulled pork sliders were ok, but severely lacking BBQ sauce. I ordered the Wagyu burger served medium, I received a burger that was so far past well done that each side of the burger had a layer of burnt crust on it. Like I said, I acknowledge that I got this food from a food delivery service, but unless they transport the food they pick up on their radiator, I don't really think that is an excuse. In all seriousness, this burger was well beyond "well done", there is no way a kitchen should have ever produced something like that. tl;dr Ordered a burger which costs more due to the quality of the meat, received a charcoal briquette

When we walked in and there were only 2 tables occupied, I thought it was because it was a Monday night...nope, it's because it's just not good. I had the brisket, which seemed to be more of a roast, then traditional sliced brisket. It was dry and not that good. The chili was OK, but nothing spectacular. My wife ordered a grilled chicken salad, and the chicken seemed to be low quality and had 0 seasoning on it. I could of made a better salad at home. We left feeling very bland and that we had just spent to much money on a sub-par meal. Speaking of prices, everything seemed to be about $2-3 over priced for being in a strip mall. Just not impressed at all and won't be returning.

A good place to go when you're hungry, good food, great beer selection... But some beers can be pricey. I like this place!

I've eaten at Red Eye when it was a food truck and now as a brick and mortar restaurant for dinner, but have really come to love it for its Sunday brunch! On a few occasions I've had the pleasure of eating an amazingly greasy, creamy, cast iron pot of shrimp and grits while listening to a fabulous jazz duo play. But wait, it gets better. All you can drink free mimosas you say? When I got the check I was genuinely confused and felt like I was about to rob the restaurant. Nope, they're really free. Alrighty then! Count me in and count this as the best brunch deal in town. Tip: you can also order off the lunch menu during Sunday brunch.

So I'm really pleased that I can come back and update my review of red eye to this extreme. After my first review I actually heard from the owner and he apologized that we had had a bad experience, said that they were working on some of the issues I had mentioned and encouraged us to please come back and give them another try. Knowing that they are one of the few places around that occasionally offers beef ribs and seeing as these are Marty's favorite food ever, we decided that if the beef ribs were available we would go here for his birthday dinner and give the place another try. When I checked ahead of time to see if they would have beef ribs, Rob said they would, so we made reservations to celebrate Marty's b'day with some BBQ. I am so happy we did. The difference between the two experiences and the food that we were served was night and day. First off, you can find them now because their overhead sign actually says Red Eye Bar and Grill. Rob explained that the previous sign came with the space and he had to jump through many zoning and leasing hoops before he was granted the variances and permission for the new signage. It's a vast improvement. Once we got inside, this time with our reservation we were seated in the dining room area which was a much more comfortable seating arrangement. I will say that the booth we were in was elevated and required you to go up two steps to get into it. This can be slightly hazardous if you have short term memory issues (or too many glasses of the lovely house wine) and forget you have to step down as you exit the booth. I would suggest if you are making reservations and a member of your party has mobility issues, you may want to request one of the booths along the wall which are at floor level. But if you can handle the steps - the height of the booth allows you to converse across the bar and watch the action on the grill. The same musician, Matt the saxman, was playing last night as had been there the first time we went and this time the sound level and mix was perfect adding to the experience rather than becoming a deterrent to any and all conversation. Now for the food. It's hard to believe it all came out of the same kitchen as before. None of the issues we experienced then existed this time around. We started out with a bowl of the french onion soup which is made with a vegetable broth rather than beef making it lighter and brighter tasting than a typical crock of onion soup. The broth was well seasoned but not too salty. The onions were nicely caramelized and sweet, the croutons while soaking up the broth still kept their body and had a good chew and the cheese was sufficiently melty and stretchy. Marty's beef rib was perfectly cooked. Tender and moist, the meat fell off the bone and had a wonderful flavor even without sauce. Speaking of which the first time we dined here we were given three BBQ sauces to choose from, none of which was sweet, so I ended up mixing my own concoction using some of the honey glaze they use on the ribs that our server got for us from the kitchen in a little ramekin. This time there were five BBQ sauces - one was exactly what we had missed before - a sweet yet nicely spiced option. They also had an apple based sauce this time. I tried the pork rib and pulled pork combo platter. My ribs were also fall off the bone tender, basted with that yummy honey glaze I mentioned before. The pulled pork was not the least bit dried out. It was juicy and flavorful on it's own accord but a hit of that sweet BBQ sauce put it right over the top. We shared a baked potato that was tender and fluffy. The corn muffin was moist with sweet kernels of corn dotted throughout. And the vinegar based coleslaw with apples provided the perfect touch of acidity needed to counter the richness of the meats. As if all this food wasn't enough, at Rob's suggestion we opted to share the banana's foster dessert. It was a special occasion after all. It came to the table twinkling with birthday candle light under a golden dome of sugar. Part the clouds, clue the singing angels, this dessert was divine. We lifted the dome to reveal a pillow of puffed pastry (say that three times fast) resting on top of a buttery, caramelized banana covered scoop of ice cream. Despite our already filled bellies we dove into this thing like we hadn't eaten in weeks. Truly luscious. Marty said it was the best bananas foster he's ever had and he's had many. Hands down this was a flawless meal. The staff couldn't have been any more accommodating, the food was beyond good, and they made my husband's birthday something truly special. We are converts. ... and seriously Dudes, the bananas foster dessert is mind blowing!

I was in the mood for BBQ, but where I wanted to go was closed. So we decided to try someplace new. I am so glad I did! Good menu selection and what I had was really tasty and reasonably priced.

We went early so it was not very busy. We were even offered the lunch menu, but wanted dinner with dinner salad. The beef brisket was very tender, as was the pulled pork. You are offered a variety of sauces, that the server is more than pleased to review with you. Was a great experience, we were early so we did not get to enjoy any of the live entertainment, but would go back again anytime. thanks Red Bar & Grill

This place is run by the former owner of one of Orlando's better gourmet food trucks. The cooking transcends typical barbecue, although that's certainly the emphasis. A nice assortment of sauces are served with the BBQ items, but the highlights of our meal were the flatbreads, corn and crab chowder, and the cornbread. Pricing is very reasonable, especially for lunch items. You're getting a sit down restaurant meal for the price of counter service. Good ambience, and a nice selection of beer and wine. Owner rob and our server were both very gracious and helpful.

Interesting to say the least... My family and I decided to hit up Red Eye on a Thursday evening. From glancing at the pictures on Yelp, I thought this was going to be a decent sized sports bar...Not quite. Red Eye is in a strip mall surrounded by many other businesses. The restaurant itself was tiny. Upon walking in, we thought to ourselves, "what are we in for?" I was told the that for my first meal here, I should get one of the burgers. I ordered a side salad to start and the Mojo Joe burger. The side salad was actually decent. Mixed greens with a few red onion slices, cucumber slices, and sliced cherry tomatoes. That's more than you get at most places. Upon looking at the menu for the burgers, they have like 5 custom builds although they all start at $11 a piece. Honestly, each of the burgers sounded decent but they all seem to be lacking one thing to make them stand out, especially for $11. For instance... Red Eye Burger is topped with jalapeño jack cheese, house BBQ sauce and crispy firecracker onions - It's really just cheese and crispy onions, (BBQ sauces on are each table). You probably have great BBQ food, put some chopped beef brisket on top. Black & Bleu Burger is wood grilled with blackened seasoning and topped with bleu cheese crumbles - Again, just cheese on it. This one would be good with bacon standard. Mojo Joe Burger is topped with a fried egg, cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon and ranch dressing - Almost there, put those crispy onions on there. Your sooo close to having a really great selection of burgers at $11 a piece. I like how you can substitute fish or chicken, that's good but offer a different type of bun. A wheat bun maybe? When my Mojo Joe burger came out, they forgot to put the ranch dressing on it. I used the BBQ sauce that was on the table. Would have been better with the ranch but was good. I will say the burger was cooked good and was decent in size. Definitely advertise that your burgers are half pounders. That's what it seemed to me at least. Drink selection wasn't bad. I was looking at the beers. They do have some crafts it seemed as well as the regular domestics. Thank God it was happy hour though. Beers were expensive. It was like $6 for anything not domestic. $4 for a bottle of domestic beer, $4.50 for a pint. Happy Hour was 2-for-1 on domestics bottles. Normally I choose craft beers to drink but these were too expensive for my tastes. I plan to go again. The char-grilled wings intrigued me. I'd also like to try the BBQ. I'll be there before 7pm for Happy Hour though. If they had Happy Hour during sports games, I'd consider coming here to watch. They also had live music, was enjoyable.

We went back to Red Eye Bar and Grill this past Friday night, and every piece of constructive criticism from my last review had been fixed. We were seated and served promptly, the food items came out on time, and the rootbeer was straight from the tap. Not only will we be back, we will also recommend it and continue to bring friends and family. Great experience.

Nothing fantastic. The kids meal was really overcooked and so was the steak on my salad. Maybe better for beer, but not a great family place.

How's your salad? Just ok. How's the steak? Just ok. How are the ribs? They're ok. This whole dining experience can be summed up by the words, just ok. We were looking for some dinner and the local love this place got lead us to it. In reality I wanted to try 4 rivers but they're closed Sundays. The food is forgettable here and while our waitress was nice we could see the lack of organization from the staff taking its toll on the tables. If you're driving through and are hungry, just keep going.

I was originally looking for Yellow Dog BBQ and I stumbled across this hole in a wall of Maguire in Ocoee. At first you wouldn't even noticed it from any other shop. The dark tinted windows show you nothing inside and if it weren't for the sign you'd think it was closed. Yet, this place turned out to be a gem. When I walked in for the first time the waitress was really nice and asked me if I wanted a to-go order. I guess she knew by my lost look as I walked in the door, not knowing what I was going to do. I asked if they had pulled pork sandwiches and root beer, to which I was told yes. She also told me that they brewed their own beers and smoked their own meats. So I told her to ring me up for a sandwich with beans and slaw. With out a wink she asked if I wanted to try their root beer and I said "yes". So she brought me a small cup to try. It was mighty tasty root beer. Now I don't know if there was some confusion. I did want a root beer but I'm not sure if they brew their own beer or their own root beer. That subject never came up and I was too hungry to ask because as soon as I got my sandwich I paid and was out the door. But before I left I found out that they have a nice breakfast/brunch on the weekends. As I looked over the menu I saw a lot of really delicious creations on the menu, which I will need to go try out! They apparently also have live music at times, either jazz or blues. Nice touch! Keep in mind I'm basing my 4 stars on two things. 1) their pull pork sandwich was really good. The beans were good also, but the slaw wasn't chilled enough for my liking but was good; 2) and just as important, the lady out front was a kick ass server who really was very pleasant. I think you should try this place out if you get a chance.

The location here is pretty small maybe 20 tables at most. I was greeted right away and seated at a booth. They don't have traditional bar seating that I normally look for while traveling since I'm by myself. My waitress was very friendly and knowledgable about there menu. I ordered a beer flight and she knew about the different beers, offered to help me make selections. One beer she was not familiar with she was very quick to find an answer. I ordered a wagyu burger, I always wanted to try one. I asked for it medium rare and it came out very well done. I normally wouldn't say anything but when you're paying $15 for a top quality burger you want it to be right. The waitress was excellent and had another one made for me. The Mac and cheese side was excellent as well! All and all a great experience, good beer selection, wonderful service, and great food!!

Bad food. Bad menu. Beef ribs are all fat. Why would anyone debone and cut the fat off a ribeye? You expect humans to eat that? Lame. You stink. Try your food before you serve it. See my photo. That's your crap you serve.

It was Sunday after church, and I was in the mood for football and red meat. My husband and mom and I decided to go to the Red Eye Bar and Grill to try out their lunch fare and check out the atmosphere. We were not disappointed. I got a specialty hamburger--the Red Eye sandwich. It was a huge burger, and it was cooked juste the way I ordered it. A great deal for around $10. I got the sweet potato fries (they cost extra), which arrived on a big enough portion I had to take some home. My husband got the brisket against the server's suggestion. He should have listened to the server. At $14, the brisket was only slightly larger than an appetizer portion, and it was dry as a bone. It was only redeemed by the excellent offering of barbeque sauces to put on it. Mom got the sirloin medallions. The dipping sauce they came with was not fabulous, but again the BBQ sauce was a great compliment. Also, we get to watch every single football game that was on at the time on the many screens! It was a way better setup than Gators offers. Moral of the story: if you like Texas Roadhouse and are ok with the prices, you will be satisfied with this place.

Horrible experience. Waitress was rude and sarcastic. Then sent someone else over to finish serving us. I don't know if she just hates her job or has a problem with mixed race families but I know that I won't be going back but I will be sure to spread the word about my experience. The food was good but premium prices.

Went back the following Saturday night when they had a solo, easy listening musician. This was a great experience! Not too loud and talented enough to not be a distraction, but actually some entertainment (poking humor). Recommend you do catch this place when they have the live music. A couple of his dinner guests even took a turn at the mic and another later at the guitar. Not too shabby for friends at your "gig". Scary at first, but surprisingly good. Loved this sax tunes. (sorry, missed the entertainer's name) Umm, go early- the place was packed and - OMG- out of the Brisket when we arrived @ 6:30!! Whaaa!! As for the eats... The smothered BBQ Fries ($8) with pulled pork was a fantastic starter! Big enough for four to get some good bites in and the BBQ is pretty good too. If you want some different sauces they bring this "tote" of different sauce goodies to the table. The Smutty Nose Brews ($7 @ 22 oz) paired well with the fries and music. Highly recommended combo. The 6 oz Filet Mignon ($22) was a bit charred but that is actually a plus in my opinion. Truly grilled yummy. The house salad that came with my steak was better than what I'm accustomed to as a side salad. Some special attention was tended to in the prep and variety of ingredients. The additional Smutty Nose Brews ($6 @ 16 oz) paired well with the steak and blue cheese dressing. Now the shared Banana's Foster - was OVER THE TOP for me. Even shared between 3 other "forkers" - the entree includes a layer of luscious pastry and Whoo Boy , this was the hit of the night for me. I don't eat much sugar at all anymore and man, this is the way to cheat! I even wore some home on my shirt!! Again, our server for the evening; Kate is a Russian delight! She demonstrated a good knowledge of the menu items and just spot on good and accurate table hostess.

Expectation/rumor: at least as good as 4R Reality for me: still a 4R fan I guess I'm in the minority in that I wasn't blown away. The meat was great but my preference is big, bold, intense flavor and it just didn't have it. One complaint about 4R for me is that it's very salty. That is no problem here. The meat wasn't bland, don't get me wrong, in fact it's what many look for in BBQ: tasting the meat and smoke more than the seasoning. The sauce selection was very good for me to get my flavor on. The sweet potato fries are a-mazing! Thick cut and crispy! THICK CUT!! Best sweet potato fries I've ever had and worth the $2 upcharge. My server was very friendly and helpful. The place was clean, but it was just me so it better be. I did find the atmosphere confusing. Upscale place? Hometown watering hole? Best kept secret? The music didn't match upscale but the decor didn't match hometown watering hole. Pick one!! Great beer selection including my beloved St. Bernardus ABT 12. I appreciate the wine pairing suggestions in the menu for the wine ignoramuses such as myself. Overall it was a fine dining experience just not well suited for me.

I've read about Red Eye on a local food blog. When I saw a LivingSocial deal for it - I jumped - and I am glad I did! The food here is just as yummy as the food blog described. Winter Garden is filled with BBQ joints, but this places really does something different with it, but not ever the top. We enjoyed the Sliders that were corn biscuits topped with pulled pork and BBQ sauce. Delicious! My husband had the brisket platter which he enjoyed, but my choice was the best! I had the steakburger with cheddar cheese and bacon. My husband made me try the burger before adding ketchup, and I am glad he did - this burger did not need it. In fact, it really didn't need the bacon either! We also enjoyed one of my favorite craft beers - Toasted Coconut Porter. We will be back!

This place was pretty good. Was a smaller restaurant but the bow sauce was awesome! Cool atmosphere and they had a nifty beer garden. I got brisket sandwich and it was really good and had the mac n cheese also. They have a lot of beers on tap and a wide variety of craft beers too. I would go back again.

I just finished my meal at Red Eye, and to say I won't be going back, is an understatement. I ordered a mahi sandwich and baked potato. The mahi was a frozen patty from the Publix next door and the baked potato was undercooked. The waitress was pleasant and tried to make things well. Management gave me a $5 off coupon for my next visit, I left it on the table. Don't waste your money!

I really want the mom and pop locations to work. I have given this place 3 opportunities. Food is overpriced for what you get. However the food is not that good any way. Secondly the staff is very disorganized. I really want to see this succeed as this others struggled here. However you have to deliver good food and great service. Priority one.

We tried Red Eye out on Monday night to get some food and watch some MNF. We sat at a table right next to the bar and ordered the Smothered BBQ Fries to start off with. Not only are they amazing cheese fries, but they are covered in pulled pork! They were so good! I was also introduced to a new (to me) cider from Sweden, Kopparberg. The flavor I had was Strawberry Lime and it could be quite possibly the most dangerous drink in the world. It was so flavorful and tasted a bit like Kool-Aid. For an entree, I ended up getting the BLT sandwich and I do not regret it a bit. The pecan bacon was fantastic and I could probably eat it for the rest of my life and not get tired of it. The side I got was the mac and cheese (after debating between that and the sweet potato fries) and it was good. It was a little gritty for my liking, but it was good. We will definitely be back for more!

Housed in a Publix strip mall on Maguire Road in a space that used to belong to an upscale steakhouse, the Red Eye Grill has a very warm and inviting atmosphere. You won't find any farm implements or pig shaped ornaments adorning the walls here. The decor is actually a little more upscale. But don't let that fool you. It's very casual here. The staff is very welcoming and they keep a sharp eye on the front door, making sure to greet and seat incoming diners immediately. My first visit was during lunch hours so I tried one of the lunch specials, the barbecue flatbread. I was surprised to see how pretty it was when it was brought to the table. Tender chunks of brisket and shredded pork were layered atop a good sized crispy flatbread. Melted over the top was a very thin layer of cheese. Barbecue sauce was artfully drizzled over the entire creation. Best of all, it tasted as good as it looked. And all for only $6! On my next two visits, I had my husband with me and we both had the Ultimate Combo on both occasions. Slow smoked beef brisket and pulled pork were accompanied by fries and the best piece of cornbread we ever tasted! The cornbread is sweet, very light and literally melts in the mouth. I have had both of their regular soups. The crab and corn chowder was very creamy and full of taste, There was a nice little peppery note to it. But my favorite is the Jim Beam Chili, an awesome combination of beef brisket, chili beans and, of course, Mr. Beam himself. We had an order of the coconut shrimp for an appetizer which was unremarkable and just tasted like frozen shrimp that had been fried. It definitely was not worth the $9 price tag. Luckily, everything else more than made up for it. For the night owls, a small, cozy beer garden has been added onto the back of the restaurant. Out there you'll also see all the fresh herbs that they grown themselves and which will eventually wind up on your plate! We will definitely be returning to the Red Eye!

Nice neighborhood spot. Great food at a reasonable price. Live music. And a beer garden. Plus it is one of only a few great barbecue joints open on Sunday. Great craft beer selection with lots of rotating taps. That's a big plus for me.

Our items were hit or miss. The Fish Dip was dry and flavorless. They also served it with burnt tortilla chips but the menu said it came with captain wafers. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and it was good! The bun was DELISH the chicken was moist and I enjoyed it. The fries were standard. They seem to have great beers on tap but there aren't any descriptions! I was annoyed by that because I would have enjoyed trying a few different if I knew what I was ordering. I wasn't expecting a strong smell of BBQ from the name but this smells like a smokehouse. We smelled like it the rest of the day! I will go back... But I will have to google the beers on my own!

When 10-12-2014 for brunch, they don't serve brunch any more, restaurant was more than 70% empty however 2 off the what I consider best seats, high tops next to the bar were reserved, we sat down and ordered asked brunch, no, still root beer with free refills told yes , got 2 root beers paid for two no more free refills, order rack of baby back ribs with some kind of loaded potatoe salad, ribs were cold and potoatoe was not appealing to the eye or taste bud, than I overhead the waitress ask the gentleman dining alone across from me if he woundnt mind paying his bill know because she was leaving, he obliged her request, Less than 5 minutes later a table of six came in and she jumped at that tip very quickly, all the while the gentle man she rushed was still watching his football game and drinking , and to remind you the restaurant is still mostly empty with reserved seats empty. Than in the back dining area there was a what looked like a cook hanging in the back in my line of vision , in a booth/table what looked like to be a date, and he couldn't sit ,he stood in the path to the bathroom most of the time , the other half of the time he was refilling his glass and his friends going back and forth . Bad food worse employees, but you can blame them LEADERSHIP DICTATES ATITUDE, worst dining experience since prison, best part of the meal was the cake I bought next door from publix , if you are the owner and you want me to call let me know , I was there around 2;30 on sunday

If you are local to the area, Red Eye is a must try. They just added on a patio/ beer garden in the back and I'll have to go back to give that a look. My husband enjoyed his burger, I enjoyed my salad and my son enjoyed his burger. The craft beer selection is very good. 2 thumbs up

This location is a vast improvement on its predecessor. The food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. The owner made a personal appearance to the table expressing his concern for our enjoyment. It's nice to see people who care about the customer experience again. We started with the sliders; which are pulled pork over homemade corn muffins drizzled with honey and barbecue sauce. They were delicious, as was the chili, served with cheese. For the entrée I ordered the mahi sandwich cafe caprese style. It's a tender mahi filet served with fresh mozzarella, basil and a balsamic reduction. The taste was to die for. Even the sandwich roll comes from a locally fresh-baked French bakery. For desert, I splurged on the bananas foster. The menu says serves 2, I would probably guess 4 could easily enjoy it. Fresh bananas served in a puff pastry covered with dark rum sauce, ice cream and a sprinkle of heaven. Truly unbelievable. Needless to say I didn't share. Not only do I recommend this establishment, I believe I will make this a regular stop.

We experienced the same as reviewer Vanessa this weekend - although the new owners were trying they missed the mark. I have been in the F&B business for over 30 yrs and it is pretty easy to tell when a place misses the mark. The food was just OK - the starter of coconut shrimp was very good but the BBQ Brisket wasn't. Tough, dry and stringy. The shrimp and grits had great potential but once again was missing the mark. A large bowl of grits with lightly blackened shrimp on top. The grits should have been made with some chicken stock for added flavor but instead were quite bland. The food did come out from the kitchen quite fast. The worst part of the night was we were seated at a table in the back of the restaurant near the restrooms. Every time someone opened the back door, we got an overwhelming smell from the restrooms - they must have put in new odor control items in the restrooms but they always smell like an institutional urinal cake and that is all we could smell - not very pleasant when trying to eat mediocre food. (or any food for that matter!) With some guidance this place has potential but without the proper leadership I'm afraid this place won't last.

Very good! My husband had the jerk chicken and I had the beef brisket sandwich. We also shared the BBQ sliders which is pulled pork on cornbread muffins. The cornbread is moist, it's almost a pound cake texture. My baked potato was really baked, fluffy yet crispy on the outside. It was very busy but we didn't have to wait for a table. My husband needs lots if liquid when he eats and our waitress was there with a new drink before he needed one. It was a nice new place to eat. Had a neighborhood feel to it.

Food is amazing and has wonderful flavor...service leaves something to be desired. Ideally should not take 2 hours to get your main entree.

The burnt ends are better than 4 Rivers. Believe it. Get the BBQ. Get the BBQ. Get the BBQ. And the beers. We met the owner, Rob, and had a great experience. Pulled pork is great. Sides are tasty. Cornbread is terrific. They aim to please. As locals we'd love to see Red Eye succeed. One and only tweak should be bigger, better, major signage. Replace the stale signage out front that was there beforehand, and scream "RED EYE BAR & GRILL is here!" from every rooftop.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend. There are a lot of great BBQ places in the area, but this one is definitely tops. Family friendly, great ambiance with live music that isn't too loud or overwhelming, reasonable prices and the food is great. I loved my ribs, hubby had the sirloin which was cooked perfectly, and my son had the kiddies hamburger. We left with leftovers and very satisfied. Looking forward to going back again!

This was my second trip RedEye Grill, and reading the other reviews find most comments here to be spot on. On this visit, I tried the ultimate sampler, brisket, pulled pork and a couple of sides. Presentation of the food was pathetic, 3 slices of brisket, and a ice cream scoop size serving of pork. Sweet potatoes fries were black in color. The meat was tender, but didn't have the proper smoke ring that a fresh brisket or pork butt would have. My guess is its pre-packaged meats, not smoked on site. Portion size was extremely small considering the $15 menu price. My wife had a salad, topped with shrimp, an unenthusiastic offering with a half dozen small to medium sized , wilted looking shrimp. Service was courteous yet inexperienced. Living in the area, I want to like this place, however the value and quality have yet to surface for this to become a favorite. I leave with the feeling that as time has passed, the establishment has cut back on quality and taken shortcuts in the meat smoking process. What happened to the Big Green Egg - now sitting on the floor by the restrooms?

Went here a while back for dinner and a few beers after work, and was not that impressed. Even decided to give the place a second shot, and my experience was even worse. First time decided to try the brisket chili, because I'm a huge fan of brisket. Let's just say I've had Hormel chili out of a can that's better than this crap. The second time I ordered some hot wings, and they came out cold. Maybe it was because it was almost closing time and the cook was in a hurry to get off, even at the expense of making a customer sick. The server was this chick with a Russian or yugoslavia accent and was very rude. Overheard her in the back arguing with another server. Plenty of good BBQ place's in Orlando, and this is certainly not one of them.

I came back Sunday after an amazing dinner with my lady the previous night. She loved her veggie flat bread, and I thoroughly enjoyed my burnt ends dinner. We love the atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. Rob the owner even came by to say hello and ensure our meal was perfect. This is one of our go-to local spots now.

We are local patrons and love to eat out at our local establishments, however, we have tried Red Eye Grill in Ocoee on several occasions both eating in and take out. We are very sad to say that since they have "changed hands", not only has their food quality gone down but their customer service skills have gone down as well! This applies to their eat in dining as well as their take out! But I have to say their take out is absolutely the worst I have ever experienced! The quality of their take out food is horrible but to make it even worse, when you call because your order is not correct the only thing they are capable of doing is to make excuses. As I am a manager in a customer service oriented business, I can assure you that if a client has a complaint it is my first and only thought to make my client happy - no matter what - not to make excuses...an upset client doesn't care! They just want someone to listen and to fix it. It is painfully apparent that Red Eye Grill does not have this ability nor do they care. We are very sad to say that Red Eye Grill is permanently eliminated from our "go to" restaurants!

The pulled pork sliders on cornbread were fantastic. Beer selection was decent with good range of styles. The service was a bit slow though. They seem to be working out the kinks still.

Not impressed with the service at all. We were seated and basically ignored by 2 different servers while others who were seated after us were given their drinks orders were taken. Ended up leaving before we ever taken care of.

I took my husband and daughter here for their birthday dinner. The service was amazing. The server and manager made them feel so special. They even asked if they could make anything special for them. The food was delicious. The ribs and steak were so tender and carrot cake was amazing. Thank you so much for making the experience so special.

I cannot say enough about this establishment. A cozy comfortable setting with great food and even better management! Ocoee is lucky to finally have a place like this.

A few freinds and I tried the Red Eye for lunch. We were greated very pleasently and seated fast. Two of us tried the blackened burger with onion tanglers WOW! The burger was cooked to perfection. The other order was the burger with the egg and my friend enjoyed it very much. The owner came to our table to see how our meals were, you don't see this any more and it was very impressive. We will definitely be back. The bar area looked great and I must go and try the beer in the boot.

I have visited the Red Eye 3 different times and loved it better each time! First time I played it safe and got the Burger which was cooked perfectly and flavorful and the sweet potato fries where great too! That night Matt "the saxman" was playing sax, guitar and singing and he does a great job mixing it up between sax and guitar and vocals! The second time I went it was on a Friday night with a few friends...even though we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table the server Kate was on top of it right from the start! I got the Ribeye steak special and it was yummy! The third time was a charm, I went back by myself after work on a Thurday and to my surprise there was music there by a cool guy name Carl Dirks doing a mix of classic rock and folky rock! I got the brisket which I was told is their most requested dish and it did disappoint! It was flavorful and cooked just right! I would recommend this place to tourist, locals and anybody just looking for good home cooked style food and good music! The draft and bottled beer selections was pretty good too!
