We'd been driving for a while, down the back road of 301, wanting to get food, but there really weren't any acceptable optoons. It wasn't until we hit 75 that we came upon Red lobster and agreed on it for our dining cjoice. There was an.. odor the minute you walk in. It wasn't pleasant, it was like old grease and dead fisj, it was not a scent to make you hungry and yet we stayed. We ordered off the menu and our food came quickly, my salad was drowned in dressing, as was the Scots. Our food however was good, there was so much that we took more than half of it home. I remember when Red lobster was high end, now it's really just kind of fast food sea food.

I have never had a good meal here. I only come here because my daughter likes it. I will not eat here again. The 1st thing upon walking in the restaurant is the smell of fish- tired worn-out fish. A mild smell so we sat down to eat. I ordered the fish and chips. Guess what I got? The old tired piece of fish with some old tired french fries. It looked like the cook decided to give me the last pieces of fish from the lunch rush which I am guessing ended around 1pm and I am here at nearly 4pm. I ordered a salad with my meal. What I got was a bowl of blue cheese dressing with slightly brown lettuce. I have eaten here several times over the past 15 years and each year the slide downhill has been accelerating.

We were very happy and surprised on how well everything tasted. I haven't been to a Red Lobster in a long, long time. In the past, it always felt like some sort of never ending shrimp buffet place and a holdover from the '90s. Well times have changed and this newer restaurant feels more like a Ruth's Chris inside (photos). Clearly, Darden's ownership of the Capital Grille and Longhorns has rubbed off. We arrived for a late Friday lunch, as folk were clearing out around 1:30. We sat in the bar area and almost immediately, our waiter Josh came over with a basket of biscuits. Nice! We ordered the "pick your own" appetizer Combo of Calamari and Crab stuffed Mushrooms for $9.49. These were later Comped, since I scanned Red Lobster Seafood Club QR Reader. One of us also had a cup of the Clam Chowder for $4.49. Both were very good and tasted fresh. For our entrees, we ordered Broiled Flounder with Vegetable Medley (photo) for $8.79 and the Lobster Pizza for $10.99. The flounder had a nice taste and wasn't over cooked and the pizza was delicious. We split the bill, which came to $16.66 each including taxes but not gratuities. Since we were comped the appetizers, we gave a little extra for Josh who was outstanding. I don't know when the next time I'll be in a Red Lobster, but this one left us with a very good impression. I have also just received by emailed a $5.00 off coupon on our next dinner. LOL So Four Stars for the tasty lunch, excellent service by Josh and those never ending coupons.

OK, I said I wouldn't be back, but there I was again...... Hey...the food was hot and tasty. The restaurant had just had a remodel and looked nice even though the poor lighting made it difficult to see. The restrooms were pretty darn clean. And the service from Stacey was professional albeit she wasn't too familiar w/the menu. All in all, a very good meal. Bravo!!!!! Tip: If you love their cheddar biscuits, you'll now find them in the grocery store to bake. Yay!

The place has an odor as soon as you walk in. It is very dark and kind of filthy looking. I ordered the feast. Fried shrimp was warm, but shrimp scampi, lobster tail, and crab legs were very cold. I will never eat there again. Red lobster is going down hill.

We went with a party of 8 for an early birthday dinner. Appitizers were good. Meals were not 100%. The manager was able to fix the problems with our orders, however it shouldn't have needed fixing. Service was very basic but acceptable.

My boyfriend and I came here last weekend and we each got the $15.99 dinner special. First of all, let me just give a nod to those delicious Cheddar Bay biscuits. I could have eaten just those and been in heaven. Our waitress was a little on the quirky side, but we were ready for some tasty seafood so we didn't mind. We ordered drinks (Red Passion & a mojito, both of which were satisfactory). Then came salads (Caesar for me, garden for him) and soup (I had the potato, he had the clam chowder...yum!). My main dish consisted of two kinds of shrimp: coconut and pineapple grilled. I am a coconut shrimp fiend, and I was pleased with these big guys and their crunchy coconut crust. And the pina-colada-like dipping sauce tasted like the food of angels. Seriously. Le boyfriend had the salmon and some shrimp, which were both delicious as well. Last but not least, dessert! We both got a dessert as part of the dinner deal, but I was stuffed so I took my key lime pie home (it was pretty standard, tangy and sweet). We shared his brownie which came drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauces and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Now, I've had many a brownie in my day, but this one was mind-blowing: so incredibly chocolatey and fudgey in texture! The ice cream was the perfect creamy softness to complement it. I'm still dreaming about it... In short, it was one of the best meals I've had in a while. We'll be back!

All I can say is wow! New management and friendly staff finally! We have not been here for a year due to the fact the service was terrible and food dreadful. The new manager has done wonders turning it around!

Ever since Red Lobster did away with Oysters I've found them to be a faux seafood restaurant. A very overpriced seafood restaurant. This visit was no exception. The lobster baked potato and lobster mashed potato had to be the nastiest thing I've ever tasted with lobster in it. Very bland and lacked any taste. Couldn't get the waitress to get our drink orders right. Took forever to get the food, no re order of the cheddar baked biscuits we asked 4 times and kept saying she was bringing them, yet never did. I'm not impressed they just keep changing things around on the menu and masquerade as a seafood restaurant. If you want real seafood theres better selections and cheaper prices around.

Would give zero stars if it were possible. Totally gross , overly salted and swimming in butter.

The food was good, so this review is not a reflection of that. This issue I have, really, is with a waitress. However, she is really just a product of Ocala, FL. I should really be doing a review of the city but the incident happened here so... The restaurant was pretty packed, however we got seated after a five minute wait. The hostesses were super sweet. We waited 20 minutes for our waters, and an additional ten minutes to order. Our waitress was having issues with time management. BUT, the kicker was when she came over to take our order. I have to preface this dialogue with the fact that I am second generation Asian American who grew up in this backwards town and I was at the restaurant with my parents who are first generation Asian American, been citizens for awhile now. Here is how the order went down: I ordered first stating, "I would like to order the create your own platter..." The waitress: "Is that for you or for him?" [pointing to my father] Me: "That's for me because I said, 'I would like..." The waitress [asking me]: "What will she have?" [pointing to my mother] Me: "She can order for herself." The waitress, somewhat embarrassed then asked my mother what she wanted. My issue is the presumption of my parents' foreignness. They have been speaking English longer than I have been alive. Longer than my oldest sister has been alive, so we are talking 40+ years of English speaking! However, this woman just assumed that clearly these people must not know and it basically ruined the rest of the Red Lobster experience. The food was tasty, but the frickin' cluelessness of the waitress was a real downer. My hope is that someday, that Civil Rights Movement makes it down to Ocala. Geez. But, again, the hostesses from a different generation than our waitress, were very nice.
