I LOVE Chipotle as a place to eat, HOWEVER.....the employees at this location were VERY rude and did not know how to handle a simple order. I had an employee tell me..." For future reference, you can order your food online!" How about just make the order. It's not that hard. I am a visitor to the Ocala area, bad impression on "locals".

Was looking forward to this place hoping it would be on caliber with moes southwestern grill but Chipotle is nothing more than bland bland bland. About as bland as a bowl of white rice. Went there once and will never go back again. I think Tijuana flats and there basket of chips has more flavor than anything chipotle has to offer.

Came here after watching the documentary on netflix. They did a good job with the food and it taste good. You definitely need to know what you want as it is fast paced. I like it and have been back several times. Update: Only thing I wish, is that there chips were warm and not always cold. They are still good and I do still order them. Just a suggestion.

Been in twice. Cold meat both times. Fountain machine down, but no sign posted before ordering. Too small and bad parking.

Surprised to go in and find that there wasnt a long line, maybe about 2 people in front of me. I found this chipolte location through yelp and i read the reviews. Dont be discouraged because the food is just as amazing as any other location. One thing though was that i ordered steak but they charged me for a chicken bowl. But in a way that was good right?

I'm normally a fan of Chipotle, but there's something lacking in the experience here. I was in the area and in the mood for some fresh upscale Mexican. Chipotle usually fits the bill nicely, but the food looked a little sad and the seating wasn't exactly inviting. The restaurant designers went with fixed bar stools, long communal table setup, with only two tables (see photo). As I began eating, I wondered if they were afraid that someone might steal their bar stools, or maybe they didn't want their customers to linger too long? LOL. But it had the feel of a cafeteria, albeit a stainless steel one. The major drawbacks here though is the food, with most of the items looking and tasting over cooked. Those warming trays only work so long I guess. One example is their famous guacamole. You've seen the shirts the employees wear? The ones proclaiming: "I made the Guacamole today!" Well I don't think anyone would be proud enough to wear them here. The Guacamole was browning and not very green. Now that means one of two things. It's been sitting too long, or someone didn't add enough lime juice. Either way, why didn't a manager switch it out or fix it? Another example was the soggy and wilted grilled onions and peppers. They were over cooked and ice cold. So if you are looking for that classic Chipotle experience of fresh, well prepared ingredients, I would skip this venue and keep driving. This is barely a Two Star experience and yes, I've had better. Sorry!

Portions are pretty small compared to the Chipotle's I'm used to. It's always concerning to see only teenagers working but they were pretty good. Got free coupons for 7 free sofritas and definitely took that up! All in all not a bad chipotle at all, I say this especially because the lines aren't always long.

Let me start by saying I LOVE chipotle! But this location was absolutely disgusting. First off, the service was unprofessional and slow. It seemed like I was interrupting them by coming in to eat. I entered through a side door and made my way to the queue. As I stood at the end waiting for someone to help me, a man came in through what I suppose is the main door and stood behind me. The woman handling the tortilla heater told me to step aside since he was there first. I did as she asked and let him order. When it was "my turn" I explained to her that I was there first but I didn't want to be rude. She apologized and took my order, but the rest of the line staff seemed to have been offended on her behalf and reflected it with their poor service. All of the toppings for the burrito from the rice to the lettuce looked old and cold. Not one pan was full of anything, not even lettuce. She scraped lettuce from the pan to fill my burrito instead of just grabbing a fresh batch. They didn't seem to be cooking more of anything. It was Friday at 7 pm!!! Once I paid and sat down to eat my burrito, it got worse. The meat was tough, as I expected. Rice was hard, toppings were mediocre. Overall, it was awful. I continued my road trip and vowed to stick to my local chipotle forever. Very disappointed.

While some of the employees can be a bit less outgoing than others, most of the regulars will recognize me and say hello (on account that I have a serious Chipotle addiction.) I've never had an issue with my order, and I've even been given coupons for BOGO meals a few times. Can't recommend 'em enough!

Meh. Two stars for the burrito and a bonus star for Hipster Neo Urban Chic (something quite thrilling in Ocala.) Unlike the previous critic I would have awarded another point for the errant bay leaf because of the small taste of adventure it might have afforded.

A Chipotle in Ocala. How exciting. I was in the area and was so happy to finally give it a try. Upon placing my order w/the tortilla warmer I asked a few basic questions about the food and was surprised to hear he did not know the menu. He asked someone else who in turn asked someone else. Granted they've only been open a week or so but that's no excuse for not knowing the menu items. I began eating my burrito in the restaurant and when I was nearly 1/2 way finished, as I began to swallow a bite I felt something scratching my throat. I gagged and spit up my bite and there was a whole bay leaf that I had been chewing. Bay leaves are used for flavor and then removed as they are toxic. Without going into all the detail I manager on duty did not resolve the problem to my satisfaction. He was very nonchalant and unconcerned. This is a totally unacceptable practice and no one I know will be going there. (see photo of bay leaf)

solid vegetarian option! Sofritas are hearty tofu protein option. This is hugely needed in this community. Thank goodness for Chipotle rolling this protein out nationally.

I'm not sure why this particular store got some bad reviews as my experience was excellent. The staff was extremely pleasant and friendly, the food was fresh (including the guacamole) and overall I was very happy with my experience. I was there on a Wednesday evening and was surprised at how many people were there. I love feeling full after eating here.

Vegan oasis or great for the carnivore burritos at best I understand this place being in Florida and butting into all the real mexican/latin american cuisine. But seriously, this is just like all chipotles: good prices, generous portions, industrial decor, and friendly staff. It's even vegan friendly--just go for a burrito with no cheese and tons of guac. You can get as much or as little of basically everything, and it tastes good. It's chipotle.

I went between a three and four star for Chipotle. I went in after watching the documentary. I was really impressed that the founder tries to find local organic produce and uses meats that are not industry (caged and treated like crap). The service was very prompt. The girl at the very end of the line (the first one to help us) was super friendly and smiled at us. As we moved down the line, I noticed that the closer we got the end- the more uptight the people became. Let me explain. You choose your items (tacos, burritos, etc) and then have them make them to order. You can add rice, beans, salsa, sour cream and so on. All was well. Until... we heard the guy at the end of the line. (I assume from watching the documentary that he is a team leader or something of the sorts). He was literally yelling at the nice girl on at the beginning of the line. I felt very uncomfortable. This went on for a couple of minutes. I felt very bad for her. I believe that if he had something to address, that he should have done it in private. We will be back but I do hope that this guy will learn how to talk or not talk to employees in front of customers. On a food note, the chicken tacos were quite tasty. The beef was kind of tough.

The food is always superb!! I tend to gravitate towards the Grilled Chicken Bowl with peppers / onions, medium salsa, cheese and of course their guacamole !!! I've never been disappointed !!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
