We were at Aunt Fannie's this morning. First I have to say the menu posted online is way off! We looked at the menu online and got somewhat of a shock when we read the menu at the restaurant. Understandably, the prices have gone up. Correct the prices Aunt Fannie! I only dropped 1 start because of the confusion on the prices. Having said that: I had the full order Gravy & Biscuit. EXCELLENT! My friend had the, I think Moe Scramble. He said it was very good. He also like the gravy & biscuit I gave him from my plate. I look forward to having lunch there some time. I have it on good authority that the lunches are excellent as well. True: the menu does go on page after page after page............... Lot of variety! The staff are very friendly. And they smile! Something most restaurant servers have forgotten how to do. Also, congrats to the Lady there who is going to be a GrandMa for the first time tomorrow! Welcome into this crazy world Jaxson! Maybe we'll get to see a pic some time. How 'bout it GrandMa?

Hi, we just had dinner, and all I can say that I am stuffed. The Jumbalaya was outstanding and the beef tips were excellent. As I was driving by, all I could see was a very crowded place, and everyone there was right to eat here. The food was fast friendly and tasty. We had a choice of 3 sides with our dinner. There are many to choose from including fried okra, black eye peas, squash, coleslaw, carrots, raisins, beans, and on and on. I am looking forward to returning. Thanks for the great time.

Best breakfast. Great chili. Friendly staff. Blue Plate specials M-F. All American and Southern style. Big burgers and fries falling off the plate. Great selection of dinners with entree, THREE veggies, and big fat biscuits under $10.00. Tell 'm Chiliman sent ya!

Real, authentic, down-home Southern cooking! Paula Deen would be proud. I went here with family on a Sunday night and there were nine of us in our party. No problems, no waiting. We were seated immediately and drink orders were placed. The menu is extensive! Everything you could ever want from a southern kitchen is here. Fried everything, including catfish, pork chops, ribs, etc. I had the braised beef short ribs. Each entree comes with three veggies. (Now, this is a southern place, so don't expect any of that hippie steamed bok choy twaddle.) I had lima beans (simmered in hamhocks), sweet potato soufflé, and fried eggplant. For dessert, blueberry cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Did I mention this is a Southern place? So, the servings are HUGE! (My son ordered french toast for dinner and got eight enormous pieces!) And even better, the service is fantastic! Every order came out so fast from the kitchen, and every order came out great! My ribs were yummy, though a little on the dry side, and my veggies were everything I could have asked for. My blueberry cobbler was full of blueberries and was served hot, but not scalding hot. Next time I'm in town, this big city girl will be back to this charming country place!

Averageish, some good, some just ok. Went for breakfast. Large portions, biscuits cold and dense, grits plentiful but also cold, eggs runny, sausage tasteless, bacon ok, service good.

I have no idea what has happened to this place. I have been here several dozen times over the last several years, and always had a good, homestyle dining experience. This was not one of those times, and was bad enough that I couldn't, in good faith, give them a higher rating than two stars. We arrived to a packed restaurant--not unusual based on my *past* experiences--and were finally seated after 10 or 15 minutes. We placed our drink orders, then ordered food. Then the "fun" began. Every person who ordered, ordered something that they didn't have. Pulled pork, dark meat chicken, sides, desserts, you name it. I ended up ordering the meat loaf, which arrived luke warm, dry, and disappointing. The masked potatoes and gravy were COLD--like their microwave broke, or someone hit the wrong button when they tried to warm them up--and were bland. I am 99% sure they are potatoes out of a box. The vegetables were the only thing not completely disappointing. So maybe that was the Universe forcing me to eat healthy?? The next time I am in Ocala, I will definitely stop in for a re-do, mainly because of nostalgia and my *hope* that this was just a freak bad day at Aunt Fannie's. A repeat experience will guarantee that this place gets filed with the "good ol' days" of Christmas past.

When you walk into the restaurant it is like walking into your own home. The food is all home made and served with a smile. Mrs Beverly , our waitress treated use as if she was our family (she even told me how pretty I was) I would go back every day if I could. This place is what your grandpa would tell you in his stores.

Service was excellent and the food was excellent. Great place for home cooked comfort food. The chicken and dumplings on Wednesday are awesome. Comes with 3 sides and bread. So much food! I would definitely come back when in Ocala again

Stopped in here for a late night meal. Ordered the 1/4 lb mushroom and Swiss burger with a side of hash browns. Food was okay, nothing stood out in particular. Wait staff was pleasant, even though the food took a while to prepare. Judging it against similar offerings from competitors (Denny's, IHOP, etc), I would stick with those choices.

The service is terrific here, and the breakfast was pretty good. I wish that they would have used real cheese instead of that creepy American pre-sliced gooey cheese replica, but the bacon was crisp and the potatoes well done. The menu was very southern diner, and we will be going back for lunch or dinner some time soon.

One of my favorite places for breakfast. Food is great & plentiful, the staff super friendly. Only wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. This morning I had Jackie wait on me, and could not have been happier.

It's good breakfast, the tables aren't very large though so don't bring a large group.

If you are from the South, you have been to a place like Aunt Fannies, in fact, you may even have a real Aunt Fannie who cooks Southern food like this restaurant. Things like Chicken and Dumplings, Chicken Fried Steak and the like. She may have also cooked sides like AF's Lima Beans, Black Eyed Peas and Green Beans. If you are from the North, you have been to a place like Aunt Fannies too. You know, a place that serves breakfast-all-day, plus has a good Philly Cheesesteak, Cheeseburgers and a few other Northern delights. In fact, you too may have and Aunt Fannie...... The place is not flashy, seating is a little cramped, food is three stars (***), however the service and breadth of menu make it a four star place. The GoTo items here are the breakfast menu items. They do really well with eggs and such. The biscuits are not the fluffy sort I like, but they are tasty and weigh about a pound each. Blue Plate specials are always good and the two page lists of sides guarantee you lots of choices. Go once and feel uncomfortable, go a second time and feel like an honored guest, go a third time and they will remember your name and make you feel at home. If only my real Aunt Fannie lived closer.

Food and atmosphere are great in the mornings. Shady looking characters in the parking lot and in the restaurant in the evenings. Evening waitresses seem familiar with them. I get the feeling the parking lot folks may be street pharmacists.

A very fun place. All the servers are super friendly and efficient. You can definitely tell they enjoy their jobs and enjoy each other. That's a huge plus! We went for breakfast and you get gobs and gobs of food. Don't forget you can add cheese to just about anything - I regret not doing so to my grits. You can order either hash browns or home fries, again with cheese, and the latter you can also ask for extra crispy. I'd recommend the latter, in general, though the hash browns were very good too. Though the menu is pages and pages long, as a vegetarian there would not be much to choose from other than the breakfast items or side dishes. How do people eat so much meat in this area? To each his own... It's open 24 hours.

We were traveling with my family from California and if we dont know the area and looking for a restaurant we always know that if the parking lot near the restaurant is full means locals love it. And omg they know good stuff! We ordered baked salmon over yellow rice and grilled tilapia. Salmon was probably the best i ever tried! It almost melts in your mouth and my 13 y.o.daughter who is not fond of fish ate the whole thing in a second! The food is delicious and portions are big. Despite being in Ocala for a few days, we still managed to eat there twice. We highly recommend this place and i wish they had Aunt Fannie's in SoCal

I have to say that I am shocked that this place does not have at least a four star review. It's probably the best breakfast in Ocala. After moving to the area, we were hungry one day and decided to stop in for breakfast. The place was packed! Always a good sign. However, we had no problem getting a booth. We were greeted immediately and our drinks were out in a flash. I have to say that whatever this place is doing, they should keep doing it. The servers are simply awesome! You never wait for anything- including your food. We have never ever had a bad thing at this place and we have been here at least 10 times. We brought a group here (including 4 hungry teenagers) for Christmas dinner. The portions are crazy big and we had lots to bring home. We adore their breakfasts. Eggs are always cooked perfect and their biscuits and grits are amazing real southern cooking at its best. If you are not looking for breakfast, don't dismay. They have so much to offer every day you cannot imagine. Anything from veggies to blue plate specials. The prices are an insane good deal. Our typical bill is around $16 for two meals and a drink. You can't beat that with a stick. I'm certainly not calling this five star dining- but I am saying that it is good diner food and great service.

No, No, No. Found a large dead bug in my food. Even after that visit, went back months later and there was a foreign object in my glass of water.
