Margaritas were yummy. We also enjoyed the food. Staff was very friendly. We will maybe visit again.

Excellent worth every calorie. Highly recommend the blackened Salam 'grandma salmon' the ceasar salad and the crab cakes. For dessert we had the mango coconut cheesecake. To die for. Great and memorable meal.

Even if we weren't on vacation, walking in here would feel like we were. The whole decor feels like a big party going on. It's hard not to smile when you walk in. We asked for outdoor seating where we could site see and people watch the lovely 5 th Ave Naples. Our server was friendly. Food was amazing. We ordered one app and one dinner and split all because we saw the potion sizes. Crispy green beans with spicy mayo as an app were amazing, worth returning for just to have again. The main course was Rasta pasta, love that name! Shrinmp, little neck clams, mussels, king crab, with garlic, white wine, fresh and sundried tomatoes, hearts of artichokes, and sweet basil in angel hair and Parmesan! Oh such happiness when these flavors came together. Also, there are 2 free parking garages downtown so easy to park. For sure, check this party place out!

We dined there Thursday night and it has a vacation atmosphere! They were great with the crayons and coloring worksheets for the kids. The food was excellent.

Decided to pick this place while walking on 5th. Had the Yabba Rita ( which tasted watered down but my quick buzz begged to differ) and mussels to start which were good. Service was attentive and on point. The best part was the cornbread and cheese bread with the spicy jam!! The Blackened Salmón was very good. It came with a Miso sauce that I couldn't have because of my soy allergy but was very tasty without it. A bit over cooked for my taste but I probably should've asked for a MR cook. Overall great place with a great view of 5th.

I don't think 3 stars is quite fair, but I don't think 4 stars is appropriate either. The food was good, not great. My wife ordered the black grouper. It was almost inedible for her and she is not a picky eater. It appeared to me that the fish was undercooked. They gladly returned the dish to the kitchen and prepared her a different dish. She opted for salmon this time. This piece of fish came out dry and over cooked. At this point she just shared my daughter's dinner. The service was good. The atmosphere was very nice. The appetizers were good and the entrees were good, just not great. 3 stars = above average.

I don't even like Seafood but this place was yummy. Everyone arrived skeptical and we left raving. The bread game was fantastic. It included 2 types of butter and bread. The service was very friendly. The calamari was great for an appetizer and the coconut shrimp was outstanding. We will definitely be back next time we are in Naples.

We were told by a local that they had a good happy hour. Only problem was we waited about 10 minutes our presence was not acknowledged. When my friend said out loud "I have been waiting 10 minutes" bartender told some one "let them wait" Ps- maybe 8 people at bar at time. Just sayin. Can't rate food as we did not eat.

1st... Our waitress was very nice. But.... I ordered the veggie Caesar salad with chicken. The chicken tasted old and was dried cubed. The salad a gallon of dressing on it and the veggies were old. My husband got the jerked chicken which made him a bit sick after. Overall.... I wouldn't go back.... But again... The waitress was very good!

Luckily we got there early (reservation at 5:15) because shortly after that they started to fill up, but boy was it good! From the flashy drinks to the "Dine and Dash" menu everything was to die for! We had crab cakes, crispy green beans, the chicken and lemon grass wontons and they were all delish!! The prices were reasonable and the view from the front room was perfect.

My boyfriend and I made reservations for my birthday this evening at another restaurant. Unfortunately, they discontinued our favorite menu choice and we decided to search for an alternative. We came across Yabba nearby and were impressed with the menu selection and were promptly seated inside at the dining area facing 5th avenue. Our server (I'm only making the decision not to mention his name so that he doesn't think we had a problem with him or get anyone in trouble!) was very attentive, polite, gave great recommendations, and was very personable. We ordered a variety of things, and in doing so, mentioned that it was my birthday (and that this dinner was my present from my boyfriend; I wasn't expecting a piñata with my name on it, just a little feeling of celebration, you know? That was the reason we went out): -Mussels appetizer: excellent! Garlic toast was great that came with it as well. Very flavorful. -Crab and Corn Chowder: had good flavor, but where was the crab? Lol -Kalifornia Roll (Yes! I spelled it correctly): excellent!! Loved. -Lobster Bomb: HOT HOT HOT!!! Hey, they warn you that there's ghost chili in this roll, and heed the warnings if you're sensitive to spice! But if you can handle it, definitely go for it!! I thought I was brave until my waiter had to refill my water haha -Rasta Pasta: Our waiter was very accommodating with the fact that my boyfriend has a severe shellfish allergy, thus leaving the shrimp out. This dish .. we were indifferent about. A lot of oil.. A lot. Then came time for us to box up our food..... We were asked if we made reservations with Yabba this evening. We explained, no, we did at another restaurant, etc, etc. Thus, we came to feel completely awkward when were told that we only get "free birthday cake with a reservation"..... In front of two other tables who looked over and kind of embarrassed us. Ok...? We've already hit $100...? A few more for a piece of any dessert would have been fine. Give me a candle in some whipped cream for all I care! The point is that we wanted to CELEBRATE! When asked if we 'still wanted it,' we obviously said no, and my boyfriend politely said that we would just go elsewhere for dessert. We never asked for anything, but what really grinds my gears is the fact that I had a clear view of the hostess stand where a woman, who I presume to be the manager on duty, stood staring at me. She looked right at me, then looked at the server and shook her head 'no'... Then wrote something on our check before handing it to our waiter who brought it over to us. I can't tell you how nice and apologetic our waiter was. He was great. If based on him alone, this would be 5 stars. Written on our check in curly cursive letters, was 'Happy Birthday'.... It's the thought that counts, right? LOL! Did she think I was lying about it being my birthday? She could've politely asked for my ID. I would have happily given it to her to prove it was my DOB. I'm a waitress/bartender myself and I've never heard of such a rule. No celebrations if no reservations!? I ALWAYS go out of my way to make sure my patrons feel special on any occasion. We felt anything but that. Any fun we did have was almost sucked out of us, as we felt like they thought we were being cheap, or lying, or whatever the case. But instead of our conversation on the ride home to Marco Island being on the great food, we talked only about how awkward and stupid that made us feel. We will not be returning.

Yabba Dabba... DON'T A distracted and detached receptionist who told us our table was not ready and then forgot about us. A river of ketchup not cleaned up beside the table we were seated at, a mess to clean up on shoes and maxi dress. A detached and distracted receptionist( same one) who sat us there. No apologies or offering to get club soda & napkins to clean it ...yes... same receptionist Seated at table sized for 2 we were 4, ahhh... details details details! Yabba menu Limited ..what are you Caribbean, Asian fusion, Southwestern? Food did not make up for all other deficiencies. Might be 3 stars if they cleaned up their act literally and figuratively!

Horrible Service after 20 minutes we left. We complained to the owner. She said she would send someone right over. 5 minutes later we left. Was not busy. Customer service not a strong suit.

First, I should say I have a general disdain for Florida. No offense, but I'm down there a lot for work and find the crowd at restaurants in the areas I'm in, Naples being one, to be exhausting to dine around. This undoubtedly colors my opinion of restaurants. That said, Yabba has gone upscale, along with most of the city, over the years. The food is good. I find it a bit pricey but their overhead is likely pretty steep for that location so I can't really say it wasn't expected. Crab corn chowder soup was good but not spectacular. I also had the seared ahi fish tacos. Good, the pineapple was a nice touch, but for one the tacos are really overfilled and difficult to eat and, for some reason, are put together with two flour tortillas rather than one which makes the dish extremely filling. The tuna was fairly average, slightly overcooked and a bit dry. I would like to say the service was very good, the waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. I have fonder memories of this restaurant when it wasn't trying so hard. A victim of changing surroundings I suppose.

Not very impressed with this place. My girlfriend and I were looking forward to a nice lunch on the patio however we were sorely disappointed. Our server barely said hello to us not recommending a single dish. Which was fine, we know the sorts of dishes we like. Keeping it simple my gf ordered a regular burger with blue cheese and bacon. After 25 minutes waiting the burger came out lacking both and was cold. Our server didn't show back up for 5 more minutes and after taking a few more minutes it was easy to see they slapped some bacon and blue cheese on the same cold burger. And the rest of the fries sat in the heat lamp window. She choked it down stale bun and all. What a poor experience for such a cool place. As locals, we really like coming down here and enjoying all the great restaurants, this was a poor performance for this restaurant.

I am unimpressed. The prices are fine and the ambience is nice. My party had memorable drinks including a margarita which I highly recommend (large & with fresh citrus), a reliable gin tonic and a few of the tropical drink specials. One of the orders was billed as large (not)- grilled shrimp in a lemon butter which was imperceptible. (Perhaps it was just forgotten). The cowboy burger was great. I ordered mussels in an uninspired medley of tomato, artichoke hearts served with limp, over cooked and broken linguine. Service is good aside from the fact that appetizers (chowder) were delivered right after our cocktails arrived which left us gulping to catch up. This was a slow night and whoever was executing dishes in the kitchen needed a bit more focus. Even the pasta could have been great. But I felt like I was twirling something from the strainer of a kitchen sink rather than a dish to be savored. I didn't want to make a fuss as I was taking our host out to thank them for a delightful visit. But it was tough to watch them eating what looked frankly unappetizing and pretend to enjoy my meal as well.

I thought this place had a pretty good atmosphere and a decent happy hour with some good beers on tap. We had the oysters for appetizers, which was good, but it was the stuff grouper (with crab and lobster) that really caught out attention. Seriously pretty amazing (if you could handle the hefty price!). The key lime pie was absolutely the perfect capper to the night. I felt this place was a bit expensive but everything we had was really good and our server was great, too.

I was in Naples this weekend for a wedding. My cousin (this bar knows him as my brother) and I meandered into this place at 1am after every other bar closed for the night. I can't say much for the patrons or the food, but the staff and the bar mamager were super nice. :) I guess I talked a lot about my new place of residence while we were there, and the next night when we are back with the wedding party I was greeted with, "Hey San Francisco!" I love meeting new friendly people when I travel, and these guys made the trip better. Ps. Thanks for the water.

My four star is a rating mostly due to great service. Food is better than average. Loved the sweet potato fries. The burgers are pretty decent here as compared to the great ones we have back home. I would recommend this place for a smaller budget and decent food.

First off, it's on the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to the fancy food of Naples. I loved the decor and ambience of the place from as soon as I walked in. Our waitress was very nice and took out drink order right away. We ordered the wings as an appetizer, they tasted great and the sauce was awesome. I had the fish and chips, my mom had the tuna, and my dad had the ribs. The fish and chips were very good, the fish was cooked well and the breaking was a nice break from the usual beer battered crusts. The ribs were also good, a big portion with lots of meat on each rib. The tuna was great, the sticky rice that came along with it was also good. All in all, the food was very good, not incredibly exceptional but still very good. Service was alright, she was around most of the time and was always around to refill drinks. So, with all the Italian places in Naples, it's good to have a place that serve great food that's not pizza or pasta.

The location is prime on 5th Ave in Naples, and the restaurant is lovely and open so even if you're not sitting outside you catch the breeze and can see the people going by. Watch out for oysters - they don't do the sniff test and a couple of bad ones ended up on my plate. I have to be lenient here because oysters and hot weather have never got along so I can't imagine it's easy for them to offer them up to begin with, but it's definitely no fun discovering one of those bad boys in your mouth. **The Ribs with a blueberry sauce were honestly the best thing I've ever eaten. Fall of the bone, give it to me now, die for it - awesome. Worth a million bucks. BUT -- they get served up next to an overcooked sweet potato and a coleslaw with the texture of a chemistry experiment, which is too bad. Still the ribs are sincerely to die for. If Yabba would revamp their side dishes, and be a bit more careful about smelly oysters I would give this place a five-star rating.

Excellent service . Food was marginal in quality Small in quantity and overpriced. prime location and captive clientele of tourists or locals too well trained to eat where they'll be seen instead of where the food is good .

  • Marty C.

Compared to other options on 5th Ave, Yabba is lackluster, but I had a really great dish and would give it 4 stars had it not been for the other plates that came out. The sesame crusted tuna in a sweet and spicy sauce with coconut pineapple rice was outstanding, but it was a special (and should be added as a regular option). My buddy had the crab stuffed grouper which was mediocre and the plating was a complete mess for the price. How you can charge almost thirty bucks and send a plate out looking like it did is beyond me. It was a hodge podge. When I cook at home and don't even try it looks more appetizing. Sister got the tuna tacos and they were alright, but overpriced. Her friend got the Cuban sandwich and it was also lacking in appearance and flavor (too much bread, not pressed enough). The ambiance is definitely nice and the service was okay, but like I said before there are way better options on 5th if you're going to be forking over 25-30 bucks a plate. Would only go back to get the tuna that was on special.

The complimentary bread is pretty good, but the rest of the food was nothing to write home about. My salad was saturated in dressing, which is odd for me to say, because I love dressing! I did like the smashed potatoes, but the egg rolls, steak and vegetables were just okay. We had good service and delicious wine, so that was nice.

Lots of potential, but the staff an management seem apathetic. Not seating after 9:30 on a busy sat. The piña colada with melon liquor is the best you'll ever have. The bar and atmosphere are nice. Haven't tried the food. Just the vibe of the place seemed off.

  • McFoodie E.

This place was one of the only places on 5th ave that was open at 2 in the afternoon so despite lackluster reviews from Yelp we tried it anyway. The experience started out negative with a smart ass host and a waitress that didn't know where she was supposed to go. The table she took us to was not bussed yet so she took us back to the host stand. Then she wanted to seat us outside where it was freezing so we opted to just sit at the bar. Bar tender made us feel like we were a burden on him for sitting down at the bar. It took forever before they took our order. The glasses were filthy and the draft beer tasted "off". I had the Cowboy burger, and my wife had the salad off the limited lunch menu. The food was ok, but not what I would expect in this location. If the food would have been as bad as the service I would have given it one star. Expected more from a 5th ave restaurant. The fact that the entire wait staff acted miserable just made for a lousy experience. We couldn't wait to get out of there.

My Girlfriend and I made a day trip out to Lovers Key State Park in Ft Meyers and on the way back to Ft Lauderdale we stopped in Naples and had dinner and drinks on a slow off night at Yabba Island Grill. At first glance the big casual and charming restaurant looked promising and I had heard good things from the locals in the area. The menu was on the bigger side and looked good in spite of it's size. Let's just say the food wasn't "bad", it was typical of South Florida seafood restaurants, but it was NOT CARIBBEAN by any means. It was a very americanized version of caribbean island food or what some people call floribbean food in south Florida. The bartender Bob was the man though . Very knowledgable and charismatic but still attentive to everyone, and well crafted drinks. I had a good conversation with him about Rums. He said the place jumps on the weekends as it turns into a psuedo-nightclub with Dj's maybe bands and dancing. All in all it was a pleasant and clean restaurant with average food, especially for the price, and great drinks and bartender. If you are looking for authentic Island/Caribbean food , this isn't the place. But If you are looking for a fun bar scene and a restaurant that can accommodate both big groups and children in a nice setting then this is your place. R

Your service is the Pits! I used to come all the time before I would go to the theater. I just can't believe you don't see it for yourselves. Your location is wonderful. But being greeted by condescending arrogant hostesses and managers to the bar snobs to the too busy to be nice to you servers is enough. You need an entire staff turnover. I used too put up with all this to eat your mussels but even those are no longer decent. Tastes like they were swimming in plain tomato sauce. No more bits of clam or artichokes. Just blah! To top it off I ordered food to go for someone. It never arrived. They had to leave. When I asked to have it removed from my bill the bartender points over to the service bar and says there it is. Like I was supposed to know that and go get it I guess? There's better options all over 5th ave with nice staff and good food.

Kind of a trendy place, especially after dinner service for dancing and cocktails. I like this place in the early evening for drinks on the patio side of the bar, which allows you to soak in the Gulf air whilst enjoying your beverage and appetizers. The service here has always been friendly, but at times can be a little slow. The prices are also reasonable, and the food always fresh and good. I do love the location in the Sugden Theater plaza, as it's always great for people watching.

We love Yabba Island Grill. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly. We love sitting in the room closest to the street. Great tropical drinks. Probably our favorite in Naples. Food is always consistent. Love Bob Marley music for authentic touch.

Go at your own risk! Went here during art festival ordered our meals with our drinks and after an hour of waiting we still had no meals or any apologies. We asked for a manger which never offered an explanation or apology. So erased for the bill for our drinks and left. Not a good experience.

This is my first time going to Yabba Island Grill. Being in the Naples area I was looking for something tropical and Caribbean theme and this place fit perfectly. The kids loved the alligator in the front dressed up in chef clothes and crocks. We decided to sit outside on the patio to enjoy the view and the great island music playing. They have plenty of cool kids menu choices which included a kids cocktail inside of a coconut. My husband and I ordered a drink recommended by the waiter and it was AWESOME!! For our appetizer we had the sugar shack shrimp which was delicious, sweet, and spicy all at the same time and came with rice and beans. We were also served 2 types of bread which were also excellent. The cornbread with the sweet and heat added to it from the chilies and the cheese biscuits. YUM! For our entrees we stuck to chicken tenders and fries for the little ones and my husband ordered the jerk chicken with black beans and rice and I ordered the crab stuffed shrimp with vegetable rice. We had to add a side of berry berry BBQ ribs. And everything was delicious. Presentation was nice As well as the flavors. The prices were definitely pricey but that wouldn't stop us from coming back, which we will be very soon. Great waiter, great ambiance, great food, great experience!!!

I had dinner there tonight, and because of the reviews I had read, I was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was very sweet, attentive and friendly. I had the Cuban chicken sandwich which was sweet, yet spicy and very good. My husband had the crab stuffed lobster which he enjoyed.im not sure why this place gets mediocre reviews... The food, ambience and service were on point!

Quite possibly the worst food for the price that I have ever had. My daughter and I ordered the Fish & Chips, which was nothing more than cheap tasteless microwaved fish sticks and limp cold french fries. They also say they have a kids meal, but once you order one with a soft drink the cost is the same as an adult meal - with less food (probably not such a bad thing at this place). One bright spot was that they served Bell's Oberon. There are so many fine places to eat in Naples that you can easily avoid this one.

Service was very slow. Grouper was over cooked and very dry. Ordered 1/2 dozen oysters in the half shell and only brought me 4. Less than gracious when I asked for the other 2. Wife's lobster was way over cooked. Will not go back.

Great location, great place for drinks. Let me preface my post by mentioning our dinner was on New Year's Eve. We had a table for 5, a booth, probably the best location in the restaurant for dinner. The service is top notch, friendly, and responsive. Just enough care, without being overbearing. We started with a round of drinks, but found that several of the drinks off their special cocktail list were rather disappointing. A Margarita was watery, flavorless, while a combo mojito, margarita was not good at all - little mint taste (mojito), with oranges floating throughout. The food looks good on paper, but I found the entrees to be rather bland in general. We started with the Jerk chicken wings - underlying crispiness was missing, and the jerk season seemed a bit softened - I can think of no other way to describe the sauce. I had the grilled scallops and shrimp, little seasoning or flavor beyond the meat itself. A member of our group had the fajitas...flavor seemed missing. Others had the swordfish, and were generally pleased. Overall, we were not rushed, and enjoyed the atmosphere of Yabba's. A fun place.

Wish this could be a review based only on food and service. Great food and happy hour specials. Awesome atmosphere, great service. Oysters, clams, scallops were great. Here's where the good review ends. As we were strolling down 5th on Naples, there was a sign outside of Yabba's advertising a 3-course special meal. This was the primary reason we walked in. When we sat down to order we were informed that this special was not valid on Friday nights. I spoke to the manager who offered no recourse and told me that "the sign has since been taken down" without a word of apology. I told him that this was very bad customer service, but we would stay for dinner. I'm sure that it was a mistake, but they really should have honored their advertisement. We only come to Naples once a year... Too bad we will only go to Yabba's once. All it would have taken was a small concession from the manager and this would have been at least a 4-star review.

I really don't understand how this place has only 3 stars. I went here this past weekend and I had a wonderful experience. Our waitress was super friendly and I found the service to be pretty quick, especially for a seafood restaurant. It wasn't crowded so maybe the atmosphere is different during peak times, but I found our meal and the service to be excellent. I started with the crab and corn chowder which was, if you're a big chowder person like myself, absolutely divine. It was the perfect texture and the flavors really popped. Our waitress also brought bread for the table, which consisted of cheddar biscuits and some sort of biscuit with a spicy kick to it. The cheddar biscuits I expected to be on the greasy side like the ones from Red Lobster, but they were not. This was a pleasant surprise. I had the grilled tilapia with black beans and rice. I'm usually not a huge fan of tilapia, but this was by far the tastiest I've ever had. Tilapia is a somewhat skinny little fish so usually when you order it you get this skinny little filet with no flavor. Not this time! I don't know where they got this tilapia from, but it was pretty big with good volume and great flavor. My mother ordered the same thing and her filet was just the same. Travel Advisor actually has this place listed with 4 stars, which is honestly more of a realistic reflection of the experience to expect if you go to Yabba's.

On the Avenue with attitude. Very unaccommodating staff. Food mediocre. Once they serve you, you never see the wait person again except when I went to the ladies room and she was scrubbing the bathroom! Really?????

I have been going to Yabba for at least 10 years, and it is still rather hit and miss. The macadamian crusted grouper has been sublime, it has also been ok. The times it has been sublime keep me coming back. This grouper is not always on the menu so call first. Yabba gets 5 stars when this grouper is on target, overall though I have to give it 3 because its not cheap and it is so hit and miss otherwise. Lunch is a better bet than dinner because 2 people will drop only 50 bucks rather than $150 and there is a decent chance you will have a pretty good lunch.

We had a party of 6 adults and 4 boys under 5...and EVERYONE was thrilled here! The service was amazing! Adam was friendly and attentive, truly a great sever! The entire team was friendlier then I've come across lately! We went early because its easier with the kids so we got to take advantage of their early bird specials, making the amazing dinner a bargain! Their kids menu is great! Kids pick a starter (salad, fruit salad, onion rings or soup) an entree and a side (French fries, veggies, cole slaw, baked potato, etc) and. Mini ice cream cone!! Really can not say enough about much we enjoyed it here! Two tips: 1. Take advantage of the Early Bird specials! 2. If you are with a group and set on picking up the tab, ask for it first. They have a policy that they have to give it o the first one who asks :)

Great happy hour prices and choice of cocktails/beer/wine. Egg rolls were amazing!!!! Shrimp nachos were not that spectacular, thought it was odd to have what tasted like Parmesan cheese on the dish and only had 3 shrimp on it. Overall a good little spot.

Food is mediocre but portions are huge.. My daughter ordered the spaghetti with tomato sauce from the kids' menu and to our surprise we discovered the pasta sauce and tomato soup are one and the same. YUCK!!

2 words...mini marshmallows. We don't live around here but we found ourselves wandering around Naples one evening and decided to have dinner downtown. Walked down the main drag and looked a a couple of places. Yabba seemed ok and I was thinking something with fish sounded good. Besides, we just could not think of having a heavy, pasta laden meal at one of the myriad Italian restaurants we passed on the street. We looked at the menu, I saw plenty of fish items that weren't deep-fried so I signed off on this being our choice. I wanted to like this place. The menu looked decent for the type of place that this is and the service was prompt and very friendly...but the food just did nothing for me. We ordered the special appetizer; a tempura sampler with baby bok choy, 2 types of mushrooms and a soft-shell crab. It seemed really good at first. However, once we tried each of these battered & deep-fried selections, aside from the textural differences there just wasn't much to differentiate the two. The entrees? Downright disappointing. My wife ordered fish tacos which were 'meh' at best. The salsa was runny and made the tacos ultra drippy. Loads of cabbage. I ordered a blackened fish sandwich. The fish itself was alright...but the bun was dry and cracked. The cole slaw was watery and made the bottom bun of my sandwich soggy. And one last thing to bring the review full circle. Something on my plate that encapsulated and sealed my opinion of this place. Think Jurassic Park; you know, the sap which encased the mosquito which then turned into Amber, hermetically sealing the genetic material of it's final meal against millions of years of elements...only later to be extracted and re-breed an island full of dinosaurs which would eventually run amok. Mini. Marshmallows. Topping the cole slaw. Plucked straight from the bag and sprinkled willy nilly on the glop of cole slaw which oozed into my sandwich bun. Mini. Marshmallows. Should. Not. Be. Considered. A. Legitimate. Garnish. For. Mediocre. Cole. Slaw.

Ok so I was pretty out of my mind by the time we made it to Yabba. I'm from Michigan so I didn't know what to expect. Drinks seem kinda high than what I'm used to. I had a mai tai but I had him put it in a coconut and I ordered one other drink but I can't remember what it was. My total ended up being about 25 bucks. Kinda ridiculous in my opinion.

Interesting that my review was deleted! The managers was VERY rude to us at Yabbas. The server didn't order my food and my friend's dishes were cold by the time mine arrived. The manager, Matt K, was unprofessional in his demeanor and behavior toward our table of women. He didn't even give me a chance to say what had happened. My friends parents own a condo in Naples for the past 40 years. Looks like they will be losing some big business:(.

Good location, but service was terrible and food was marginal. Server not attentive, slow and made several mistakes. Grilled Salmon and Mahi meals were tails, not filet. Chicken sandwich was wrong cheese ordered, and served the wrong side item. Will not return!

I would give it 3 stars, but I just cannot seem to. This place both aggravates me and keeps my attention. The drink prices are horrid, but I cannot comment on that because when you go to 5th Avenue, you know you're gonna pay for it. Have drinks somewhere else and then end up there at the end of the night for dancing. Some Saturday nights can be amazing....the DJ is spot on, the dance floor is full and everyone is loving it. Other nights the DJ plays undanceable music, the place is nearly empty and the people that ARE there are probably cast-offs from a bad reality show. I'm sure this is true of any bar/restaurant, but maybe it would be more consistent clientele if the people that worked here were actually nice.

I went here because I was staying at the hotel next door--Inn on Fifth. I had a light dinner--I was not to crazy about the food selection. But I would recommend the alcoholic beverages. I had two mango mojitos! The service is great! The waiters and waitress are extremely helpful with ordering and recommendations! I'm likely to go again--the food always smells good when I walk by.

Naples is one of my favorite places to visit and we accidentally run into this place and trust me I wasn't disappointed. We wanted to get dinner before catching sunset at the pier. They have this home made salad dressing honey-lime and walnut (yummers), I had the Grandma Blackened Salmon with coconut pineapple rice and I had to try the Fish Taco to compare to Black Point Marina....Black Point Fish Taco is still my favorite. My friend had the Jerk Chicken but she wasn't impress that it wasn't spices enough (lol). The server was very friendly and attentive to our needs and invite us back for there late night activity, which we accept and went back after sunset. The music was very cool and deadly island style. Naples ROCK!!! BIG UP YABBA!!!

Don't get the Grouper/fish sandwhich For being in florida you would expect all restaurants to have fresh grouper not frozen, the worst grouper sandwhich in naples. Good place at night to hang with the younger crowd.

I was not impress at all. The place is on a nice area, real clean real lay back, the food however is not great at all. I order Fish and Chips and let me tell you , its was greasy and the fish had no taste plus they are way to overpriced. The place turns into a "club" after hours but its like for older generations. I had my gratitude included in my bill, I guess no one leaves any because they aren't that good, so they take it into their own to charge it......

Our group dined here for our girls' night out during a bachelorette weekend. We had a great time. Our server was attentive without being overwhelming. We split a fun sized margarita, which was 24 oz of delicious booze. I had the tuna negril and the mussels. The tuna's ingredient list was better than its execution. The citrus dressing was much too acidic and threw the balance off completely. I only ended up eating half of it. On the other hand, the mussels sauce was so absolutely fantastic that I could have used two more pieces of bread to sop up the yummy broth. We left after dinner to try a bar or two before returning to dance at Yabba once the tables were cleared out. I tried two key lime drinks (a martini and a frozen concoction). The frozen drink was amazing, but the martini was so sickly sweet that I only managed three sips before trading it in for a vodka soda. The music was a mix of top 40, the video screen was a fun touch, and it was a great way to dance the night away and celebrate our friend's last nights as a single lady.

Great place for happy hour or after 11pm on a Friday or Saturday. The drinks are pricey after happy hour, but the atmosphere is great and when busy this place can be a really good time.

We just stopped by here for happy hour one day. The bartender was much less fun than the one at Chops, and also wouldn't let us have the happy hour special on their "special" drinks (which again, Chops let us do!). We didn't order any food since none of it sounded interesting. As for their dinner menu, it didn't make us want to come back. It's around the same price as Chops, but it's nowhere near as nice inside. So I guess if you want to spend that kind of money but have a group of kids with you, this would be your choice. Not for us though.

It's hard to believe that in downtown Naples there isn't more seafood places, so based on that fact alone, we ended up at Yabba Island Grill. But, it was a nice option. A little on the expensive side but there menu was worth it. They had some really unique fish and a variety of cooking methods, sauces, sides, etc. One downside of this place is that our waiter was super loud and wanted to talk to us constantly, which voided the romantic dinner.

My family was looking forward to having dinner at Yabba. Very disappointing! The hostess was extremely pretentious. We arrived at 4:50pm for our 5pm reservation, and was told by the insensitive hostess to wait outside. Needless to say that's including my disabled father in law who had a walker and has difficulty walking. The hostess who was without brains or compassion did not see the common sense in letting us sit at the bar or even wait inside. Once we were seated, our waitress was in some sort of foul mood. We had our menus in our hands for 3 seconds when she came up on us abruptly asked us if were ready to order. No hello, no Hi welcome to Yabbas, none of that fake pleasantry stuff... it was kind of uncomfortable right from the start. We weren't informed about the Happy Hour specials. We overheard it from the very affable and professional waitress at the next table. The food was just ok. Not bad by any means, just ok. My corn and crab chowder was actually the best part of the meal. It was quite good. My mahi mahi was just ok like I said before. The guava jalapeño sauce that was supposed to be on it was non-existent. The flavor of the fish was boring. It's like there was hardly any effort put into the meal. The portion was even small. My wife and in-laws also share similar experiences with their meal. My two little ones did like their Mac n cheese and chicken fingers, but their 5 and 3, it doesn't take much to satisfy them. It's just seemed like they couldn't be bothered with us. I know I'm no reality tv star or the poster child of the rich and trendy but at least make an effort! Like my mother in law says, there are too many good restaurants in Naples for them not to be on their A game. They were not even on their C game. We were not impressed by anything Yabba had to offer which was very little.

Very neat area on 5th ave in downtown Naples. Service was excellent and food was great. I had the "Mac Grouper" special. Was different and very good. Also had the conch fritters appetizer. Was very good as well. Presentation was done nicely as well. Casual or formal you will fit in. If I could, I would give it 4.5 stars. A few blocks away is the beach. Go early and catch an after dinner sunset walk.

Good Location, Downtown Naples. The crowd is OK, mixed age and race. Plenty of beautiful women, usually in groups, like office parties. Bar staff is fast and friendly. The DJ plays the lowest common denominator of music, kind of a K-Mart of sound. When she isn't playing some BET hack-job, electro cattle drum crap, she is playing something that kids at the skating rink should be moving too. I guess DJ's should be required to spend sometime on the world club tour every year so they can experience great beats. instead of Chris Brown, try playing "Passion for Percussion", instead of Nikki Minaja, try some "Lindstron and Christabelle", instead of playing straight to the lowest common denominator, try something that makes you want to dance. It works.

Baked oysters (like Oysters Rockefeller only better) were stunning. Special sea bass dusted with wasabi and a sauce that left me weak in the knees was just brilliant. Our party also had macadamia crusted grouper that was delicious. Fresh fish is always terrific at Yabba. The service was a little tentative, but it's a great place and I recommend it highly.

Went here for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised by this place. I had looked at the yelp review beforehand and was a little wary of the place, but my family and I decided to eat here anyways. I don't know about the dinner service, but lunch service was great. The waitress was attentive and kept checking up on us. The food was great; the burgers that were ordered were delicious, but a little overcooked to what I expected to be "medium". One of their shrimp dishes was a good spicy-sweet combination. The stone crab claws were fresh and the main reason we chose this place to eat for lunch, and it was worth it, although it was pretty pricey. Overall, it wasn't the best food I've ever eaten, but it definitely was good and I enjoyed the meal. One of the better places I've been to for a nice lunch in Naples.

I came here as a business traveler after a long work day. I came seeking three things: 1) A friendly place where I could eat alone (at the bar) and not stick out like a sore thumb. Check. I got that, and the servers behind the bar were exceedingly pleasant and accommodating. 2) A good beer. Check. Got a delicious beer (the "Drifter") and at an awesome price of $3 a pint for happy hour. 3) Good food. Here's where I was disappointed. I even went for a splurge and chose a pricey ($38) entree of off their "favorites" menu. I chose something along the lines of the wasabi-and-pistachio-topped fish with asian vegetables. For $38, I expected a lot more. The best thing I ate was the truly delicious cheddar-garlic biscuit that came on the side. The vegetables were at least hot, but limp and too well cooked. Nothing special. The fish was the biggest disappointment. It was lukewarm in temperature and the cooking method did nothing for it -- it was limp, opaque, and hardly flavorful. The wasabi seasoning on top didn't do much at all to flavor it -- don't expect the desirable "kick" that usually comes with eating wasabi. If this is one of their longtime "favorites," then I'd hate to try the newer things on the menu. A disappointing end to a long day.

This is a wild place. Two of us dinned and found it good. It is casual, kid friendly and loud. The menu is a mix of cuisines offering something for everyone. Nice portions, well seasoned. Just a good meal, service and managers. Key lime pie is the real thing!

Terrible service!! We stopped in for a later dinner, and were seated when the hostess said we would be. After ordering five minutes later, we waited over an hour for our food. The servers, kitchen, and manager seemed disorganized in that the kitchen kept saying just a couple minutes, though I'm not sure whether the server forgot to put our order in or if the kitchen decided those seated after us who ordered after us should all eat first. Regardless, the food sounded good but I can't comment on whether or not it was, since we cancelled our order after a 60+ minute wait for food (just entrees not even appetizers!).

Britney was our server and she was happy. We started of with a Mojito and some excellent Jamaican Jerk wings. Both were above average. They served up some corn bread and cheesy rolls that were excellent. A little bit of spice in the corn bread mixed with the sweet spread paired very well. Britney suggested I have the Parrot Fish special and my wife had the Ahi Tuna. Both dishes were well prepared and tasted great and were fairly good size portions. We got to sit outside and I can assure you that the people watching is second to none. The ambiance is an upscale casual and your mood could dictate which way you want to go. They have an above average list of wines, rums and beers to go with their very varied dinner menu. I guarantee you will find something you like to eat and drink. If you want to have a very nice meal in the heart of all the action Naples has to offer, this is your place.

If there is a line to get in this place than stay clear! The manager this past Saturday night, clearly doesn't know how to run a business. We had been seated and the waitress didn't take our order for roughly and hour. Once she took our order she couldn't get the food to us before another hour and kept forgetting our drink orders. I spoke to the manager and his answer was that we are short staffed and busy. WTF!!! The wait staff was busy, so one would think that the three women passing out flyer's at the front door could help out. Most managers would actually break a sweat and get things moving instead of making excuses. I guess this guy doesn't worry about a slow economy. Oh, I almost forgot about the food. I think I mentioned that it came two hours later. I live in a West Indian neighborhood in Brooklyn and know what the food should taste like. If there was a "Caribbean" dish at your local Applebees than it could be comparable. You may also be served by the Applebees' manager if the staff is short. Now I don't want to blame our waitress but maybe the food would have tasted better if she got our drinks on time.

Talk about pretentious! Yabba needs a reality check, called for a reservation...was given one really late on a tuesday night, only to find the place half empty. The specialty grouper didn't even come with a potato @ $28...waitress said included greens...sorry I misunderstood...where I come from a spinach leaf does not qualify as a side...the grouper was great, but not as a stand alone for the price.

Good place for lunch/brunch especially with elderly parents. I suspect it's quite loud during dinner. Menu slightly above average in quality, though selections read as quite creative, and at least for our lunch food preparation could be better. Our waiter was very attentive, and tried to correct one entree we felt was over rated on menu. I'll return.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch with outstanding service and very good food. They were a little busy as expected inseason. Outdoor seating was taken as the cold weather broke and the day was fab. Ordered the nachos and salsa to start and they were fresh baked with a great fresh made salsa. The broiled grouper and pulled pork sandwiches were very very good. The pulled pork arrived with a side a warmed BBQ sauce which was perfect for dipping. In addition the lunch came with choice of salad, ceasar or soup. Hot homemade cheddar corn muffins and cheddar biskets were served with a great dipping sauce. Try for a fun lunch.

I just revisited Yabba last week and was entirely disappointed. The only thing keeping me from dropping this down to 2 stars is the fact that I did enjoy my meal the last time I visited. On this occasion, the restaurant was not crowded at all and yet our waitress was not attentive. It took 3 tries just to get water on the table. She was more attentive to the only other table she had - which had more people at it. I had a champange cocktail, which was delicious though. For dinner, I ordered the Caribbean Cowboy Burger. It was awful. One of the worst burgers I have ever had. I asked for it medium and it came out dry. It had the consistency of meatloaf, but with no flavor at all. I was dousing it in ketchup, hoping for the best. The only thing redeeming about this dish were the onion rings on top of the burger and the fries.

The ambiance reminds me of the Carribean. The early bird dinner is a great deal. You get a appetizer, entree and dessert for under $20. I had the Deep Fried Calypso Calamari Served with Cocktail Sauce and Lemon and Jerk Aioli as an appetizer. Very good - light and crispy tempura. For the entree, I had St. Bart's Pasta - jumbo shrimp and Littleneck clams with sun-dried tomato, hearts of artichoke and sweet basil tossed with angel hair pasta and parmesan cheese. Delish! The Key Lime cheesecake for dessert was perfect. The fish and chips were lightly battered, crispy and yummy.

You're guaranteed to have a fun time when you eat at Yabba. First, you have to make reservations way in advance to even get in, especially during high season. The music is really fun and the food is delicious. Their mango salsa is amazing and I've had the Seafood Stir-Fry which was excellent too. Just a note: its pretty expensive, especially if you're drinking too.

We had a blast here. The overall vibe of the place is Caribbean Fabulous. We made reservations and were seated right away. Our table was in the front room, and now that's the only room I ever want to dine in. Our waitress was very efficient, ( though maybe just a little slightly miffed, we weren't "drinking".... as we were uh, "recovering") The menu has many " inspired" , and creative seafood selections as well as a few land fare items to choose from. I felt that for the portions of the main dish & one lonely side it was a tad pricey, but I fully expected that- We tried the cornbread ( not truly impressed, too crumbly) . Then he ordered a huge amazing plate of King Crab, & it was so, so , so Delicious. Along with the smashed potatoes, which were good, but very salty. I tried the blackened Mahi, with "island" rice ( which was buttery / white and blaaaah) and mango chutney. The Mahi was outstanding. I'll go back (soon) just for that. So the main dishes were gorgeous, the sides ( maybe an off night? Saturday?) were just alright in flavor , though plenty in quantity. Next time we are for sure going to aim to try their Early Dining menu, which offers you a whole meal at a great price, the trick is to getting there in time. Expect this to be a sort of expensive meal, especially if you are doing apps, drinks, dessert and are not independently wealthy-

Nice food. Nice atmosphere. Pricey, so it's not a value pick. Good place to get a dressy piece of fish. The island mussel appetizer is a fabulous meal in itself.

I really wanted to like Yabba's. I love seafood, it's in a great location, I love outdoor dining...but in the end the food really wasn't that good. I had the sea bass and my date had a steak - mine was actually really bad and his was just OK. It was a real disspointment. I'm giving Yabba's a 2 instead of a 1 though because the service was very friendly and the drinks were great. After my second margarita I barely noticed I didn't like my meal that much.

This is another very tasty and reasonably priced restaurant on 5th St. in Naples. All of the people i was dining with got the surf and turf spectacular, which was awesome. My fillet was cooked perfectly and the crab cake it came with was delicious. The meal CAME WITH A DRINK - a delicious and high octane margarita. Definitely a great place to go!

We stopped her for drinks and dinner randomly while walking down 5th ave. The cocktails YUMMO, and the dinner I don't remember very well due to the delicious cocktails. However, have a great outdoor seating area and a fun vibe. Good service and a nice place to people watch!

We stopped by Yabba around 2PM in the afternoon looking for an excuse to drink and we found one. The bar extends to the porch area and you can enjoy drinks while watching shoppers on 5th avenue. We had a light bottle of white wine in great weather. Couldn't have asked for a better more relaxing corner bar. Will definitely go back for the food when the next opportunity arises.

Starting at 10pm on Friday and Saturday nights, this restaurant opens up as a dance club. It is a really popular place and a ton of fun. For 21 and up, it is free to go in, and dance the night away. On Fridays it closes at 1:30 and on Saturdays it closes at 2:00. I have been there on both nights and I found the party on Saturday to be a bit busier and the crowd younger. The drinks are priced at typical Naples prices. If you just have a couple you can have an evening priced around 10 dollars. It can get pretty hot in there, but I really recommend this place for a fun evening out.
