You know an Italian restaurant is good by the quality of its tomato sauce. This place is the real deal. AMAZING food and nice service. Very authentic and best italian food I've had since being in Italy. We split the clams/mussels app, the eggplant app, and the asparagus salad. To die for! The cannoli for dessert was better than any I even had in Italy. Loved this place!! Casual, small, and delicious. Perfect for a nice dinner after a day on the beach.

This is truly great home made Italian. We started with Mozzarello di Parma, then I had Agnolotti Nonno Paolo and my husband had the Cavatelli Giuseppe. Desert was cannoli and Tiramisu. Very friendly staff, and our waitress Donna know about all the specials. This is a must if your looking for great food. Reservations are suggested.

Best meal I had during my recent vacation in Florida. Both the service and food were excellent. They have a limited menu, but what they do have is homemade and authentic. I had the gnocchi with meatballs, was great, tomato sauce was also very good! This is just a small restaurant in a strip mall so I would probably recommend this for lunch on a sunny day so you can sit outside, relax, enjoy a good meal and watch the world go by...

Our date night was phenomenal thanks to speedy service and delicious food. Our waiter Katie brought our wine faster than I could say "red wine please". Katie recommend an eggplant lasagna for an appetizer. My girlfriend ate her half and was stealing mine before I could take a bite. The salad and diner came out within 15 minutes and the portion was so large that neither of us could finish. Can't wait to have seconds and to visit Trattoria again in the near future!!

My parents suggested we go here as the food never disappoints. So I promptly made a reservation on opentable. When we arrived, we had requested an outdoor table. The hostess started to become snarky and said that we didn't request it on the reservation. I had no idea you had to request this, it was my first time there. After some back and forth she says that a party of 5 was going to sit there (not sure how that would happen on a non-expanding 4 top table). I was very close to leaving but just gave up and sat inside. The whole bantering with the hostess ruined my experience. Our server was polite, but the food expediter (we sat by the kitchen window) also had an attitude problem. We had asked for some extra bread... Fast forward ten minutes later, we ask again, and we receive a snarky reply that it's being warmed up. Meanwhile I lost count on the loaves of bread going to other tables. I later looked outside at the table where I originally wanted to sit and there was a party of 3 there. That really upset me... I would've preferred the hostess just tell me that it was already reserved by someone else... Why lie? Anyways, not long after the food arrived. It was indeed outstanding, and I would definitely return if this place gets rid of the snooty hostess and expediter. Short version - if you want good food and don't care about the snobbish atmosphere, then this is the place to go for quality, fresh Italian cuisine.

A coworker took me to this almost hidden spot tucked into the same plaza as LA Fitness. Perfect, intimate Italian trattoria that offers fresh made pasta options. We went for lunch and two of my coworkers had the lasagna which looked awesome. I assume it was due to the empty plates. I had the manicotti which was stuffed with ricotta, spinach and smothered in their gravy. Also, they brought out freshly baked bread prior to the meals, and I think we gobbeled up a few baskets. I'm looking forward to getting back and trying there other options. In the land of a 1,000 Italian themed restaurants that is Naples, you should definitely check Trattoria Abruzzo out.

We were looking for a good Italian rrestaurant in this area and the reviews suggested that Trattoria Abruzzo was just the place. So last week, my wife and I tried it and afterwards wondered if these reviewers had eaten at the same place. My Snapper Livornese, one of my favorite Italian dishes, was not well prepared....the fish was chewey and the sauce smothered in tomato sauce. The accompanying spaghetti was tasteless mush and couldn't be saved by the sauce!! Dispite this unhappy experience, we returned with friends the next night to give Abruzzo a second chance....unwise decision: My Chicken Franchaise was far too salty and my wife's Chicken Marsala was very tough and swimming in a puddle of grease strewn with mushrooms. How many times must one try this place to get a good meal?? For me, never again!!

Great delicious food, great service next to a beautiful theater, so perfect for dinner before or after a movie. Wonderful varied menu, this is a great neighborhood location with outdoor seating and lots of people waiting for tables. Enjoy!

OMG....what a delicioso surprise. The only problem will be the gigantic crowds starting next week when the Paragon theater opens next door. Royal Scoop on one side of theater entrance and Abruzzo on the other. My guess is during the 'season' It will be hard to walk on the sidewalk. Reason: Ettore Laccetti and his sister Paola have transformed a former german breakfast/lunch diner into a perfect trattoria that you would find in Tuscany or Abruzzo or any other area in central Italy. The fresh bread - Nonna/Nana comes in daily and prepares the special lasagna; tiramasu; breads and other specialties. So we started with the lasagna/eggplant appetizer - all gave it thumbs up. Then a very special dish that I requested Ettore to make. I had been in Montalcino and ate one of my most memorable meals at Poggio Antico: A ricotta gnocchi con tartuffo nero. black truffles slivered on each gnocchi (think of gnudi). Ettore didn't have any black truffles so he prepared a ricotta gnocchi with porcini mushrooms in a truffle oil. I was almost transported back to Poggio Antico. The Salmon; the veal 'modo' (ala milanaise); the special eggplant rollitini were all devoured. Call ahead and if possible on a weekday night Ettore might try to recreate that special meal you had in Italy. Oh yes and ask for Donna - a server par excellance. Skip the burgermaven PS: when you sit down ask to hold some tiramisu...it sells out early.

Avoid at every cost. Ordered a bottle of wine. It took 6 people to decide if the bottle was correct claiming the label changed 3 times. Chef and or waitress forgot our appetizer and argued in kitchen whose fault it was. Waitress decided to bring out salads saying appetizer only needs a minute so I figured I would bring out salads so you did not wAit any longer. Olive oil on table was awful at best. I even question if it was olive olive. Appetizer finally came out cold sent back. They made a new one it was colder than the first ordered the trio it was bad and cold. I sent it back and did not eat. My girlfriend had pasta and kale. Someone should teach them to trim the monster stems from the kale prior to serving. They had audacity to send a waitress over when I finally asked for owner or manager. She admitted wrong bottle of wine but still charged me for wrong bottle. THIS PLACE IS POORLY RUN PIIRLY STAFFED AND THE COOK IS BAD. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Visited twice in three days because we enjoyed our first meal so well and the second night didn't disappoint. Special appetizer the first night was stuffed peppers like Mom used to make...bread, eggs and cheese not the American meat and rice. Seafood pasta special was amazing and a very generous portion. My wife had the ravioli and said it was the best she has had since our Aunt Yolanda used to make from scratch. She ordered it the second night as well. She finished with the tiramisu which again was the best she had ever had...very light. I enjoyed the cannoli, which although was not house made, the ricotta filing was creamy thick and outstanding. Had to have it again the second night. My brother and his significant other dine there every Friday night and thus, the staff were very attentive. Wished we lived in Naples to join them, but we are back in St. Louis and still talking about Trattoria Abruzzo. You must try it!

We found this place on yelp, the directions ar a bit off from Google maps, so just realize they are in the plaza on the corner of 41 and near/next to LA Fitness. Good food. The eggplant parm was a little too heavily breaded for my taste as well as my dad. My wife had eggplant rolatini which was good, but once again, too much breaking. The chicken and veal parm w good and the sauce was good. They made a few mistakes throughout our evening, but they made up for it. Despite the hiccups, the food was good. I am on the fence about giving them a 4 star review. I am not sure it warrants 3 stars, however it is my only choice at this time and I would have preferred 3.5 stars. We may try them again and see how it goes. I am open to it.

Despite what others said, the staff was very accommodating. We had a wonderful meal. The sautéed calamari with artichokes was light and refreshing. My wife had a trio special of chicken, veal and eggplant parm which was wonderful and I had their version of veal Milanese which was excellent. I would go back frequently when back in this area. Wish we had a restaurant like this in Savannah.

The food was impeccable. I had the lobster ravioli. My wife had a special--eggplant rollatini. We also had a lasagna-like appetizer which was phenomenal. Sauces are made fresh. Pastas are hand made, as well. Wine selection was a bit pricey for what was offered, but our cab-merlot blend was a good compliment to our meal. Our server, Gregory, was very knowledgeable, polite, and helpful. The only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is the reception I was given upon entering the restaurant. There was no host. So, I entered and let them know I took a table outside. They looked at me and one another as if they had to decide whether or not they were going to allow me to dine at their establishment. It was off-putting and I almost left, but I'm so glad I didn't. If you're going to feed me like that--treat me however you want!

The food is excellent - they make homemade pasta and sauces. Prices are great for what you're getting in quality of food. The restaurant is small so we called for reservations. Service could have been better as it took awhile to get drinks refilled and plates cleared, but still a friendly staff/atmosphere. That's why I gave 4/5 stars. Will definitely be back!

Found through yelp. Our experience excellant. Service was great! Although to be fair we were there early and not crowded. Food was very very good. All appeared fresh. The mozzarella appetizer was outstanding, tasted like the mozzarella was made minutes ago. Great sauce on the dishes, and Chicken Franciase excellent. I definitely recommend.

I frankly expected more from this popular Naples restaurant. The place was crowded when we arrived. We were greeted by the hostess who was chomping on a wad of chewing gum. We were seated about 15 minutes past our 7:30 pm reservation...not a big deal. Our server was attentive and the service overall was good. The food, however, left a bit to be desired. The salads were inconsistent, some overdressed and some underdressed. My lobster ravioli was in a bland pinkish cream sauce, not bad but nothing special. One at our table had the gnocchi which was smothered in blue cheese sauce as if gnocchi isn't heavy enough by itself. Another person had the linguini which included a bland sausage. Some spice on all of the dishes would have been nice.

I have no idea why helpers are giving this restaurant 5 stars- food is mediocre at best. Olive Garden might be better. The salad that comes with the meal came with a salad dressing from a bottle, so easy to tell since the taste is distinct. The bean soup was salty and tasteless. My chicken entree tasted like they never change the oil that they fry fish in, disgusting. I will not be going back.

I think this is one of three best restaurants in Naples. If you are visiting - please don't pass up this place. The food is so decadent. It's located in a plaza which is not so pleasant to look at. But the waitstaff is incredibly hospitable and cordial. The food is cooked with love. I usually shy away from yet another Italian restaurant but I have a hard time avoiding coming here anytime I go out to eat.

Fantastic unexpected find in a strip mall- don't let that location fool you into thinking its strip mall Italian food...Far from it. This is a old school family Italian restaurant. We had strolling viola playing and singing, FRESH pasta made on site. Superb. Small restaurant, but nice atmosphere and very cozy. Maybe 10-12 tables? Make sure you get to one of them - because it is worth it.

This not a five star because of the size of the Resturant , the decor or the even the service, it's the food and it's Italian authenticity. This is a small family trattoria with family roots in Italy, Grandma makes the bread, I mean really. I always try and order something different every time I go but I get cold feet and can't miss out on the homemade Lasagna it's more then perfect. If you close your eyes you think you are in Naples Italy not Naples Florida. This little spot should not be missed. Lunch and Dinner watch out for long lines in the winter months. Caio

Extremely authentic Italian food hidden in an unassuming location next to the LA Fitness in the Pavilion Shopping Plaza. The atmosphere in this small restaurant may not be anything to write home about, but you are guaranteed expertly prepared, genuine Italian cuisine. I ordered the salmon for my main course, which was grilled to perfection and served with a bed of arugula, cherry tomatoes, red onion and a drizzle of oil. It also came with a side of potato and grilled zucchini. Simple and delicious. Filling but not too heavy and flavors that I would give anything to replicate in my own kitchen. It's a small restaurant - reservations a must.

Can't speak to the internal atmosphere - had to eat outside and was comfortable. I had the Trio - was acceptable. Two of our party had the lobster ravioli - terrible, no lobster flavor, very fishy. One other had the angliotti with sausage - very poor flavor. Had the calamari as an appetizer, again not much flavor in the batter. Ordered all of our salads with dressing on the side - none of them came with dressing on the side.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
