If you're a salt life lover, and/or a lover of the boat life, then you will feel right at home. For me, being that I like both those things and aspire to one day have or live on a boat, I felt thrilled over the prospect of visiting a place that is a staple in the Naples boating community. The concept is simple. It is a restaurant built upon a dock on a pier that borders a marina, as well as a neighboring inn for boaters. Many boaters come here to eat, or they dock at the Cove Inn and come on over, so it's popular among that crowd. As a result, expect a lot of flip flops, shorts, and tees, and if you're already thumbing your nose at the ambiance, then don't bother coming. Obviously, the dishes that will dominate the menu will be seafood, or contain some sort of seafood, though they do have dishes for those who don't eat seafood, but why come to a seafood spot in the first place? That is the equivalent of going to a steakhouse and ordering tofu. Prices are not cheap, they are somewhat mid-range. While the seafood seems fresh, there just isn't anything that truly jumps out at you from the menu. I liked my salad, but did not think it was amazing or out of this world. It was just okay and the tuna was too heavy on the dressing. I wasn't very full since the salad looked more like something you'd find in a gourmet restaurant (a/k/a, a small portion, meant more to look pretty and posh) so I stole some of my friend's fries. The best thing this restaurant has going for it is the ambiance, and obviously, the views. You cannot beat the waterfront views, because no matter where you sit, you will look out over the water and see the boats. The best thing is, after eating, you can take a walk on the docks and look at all the boats, some of which are for sale (very tempting!). Not only do you get to drool at the yachts and sailboats, but you also get to walk off the calories of your meal and digest your food. I would imagine that the sunsets here are to die for. As far as food goes though, it's okay. You can find better seafood restaurants anywhere in South Florida, but finding these views or ambiance along with the amazing seafood is rare.

Five stars simply because The Dock has always been a comfort-destination for me (and many) since I first came in 1983. Low ceilings, small (read "intimate") bar, tight fits, and generally boisterous going-ons would all be strikes against many places. Not here. Instead, these characteristics speak for themselves as they've done so for decades. The Dock of today is essentially identical as it was for me 32 years ago. Everything pretty much in the same place. The bartenders are salty - but know their mixology. They likely concoct Singapore Slings and other early 20th century cocktails with fair regularity. The food is good upscaled pub grub and the menu features many seafood options. We only came for drinks afternoon drinks yesterday so I can't speak about the food but it was always good "back in the day"

Loved it! Had the blackened grouper which was excellent and the the Dock Shrimp Nachos which were the best. The server Danielle was wonderful. Great young lady. Looking forward to returning again soon.

I really wanted to love this place. Honestly there is a lot to love. The vibe and views were awesome and each table has a view of the docks. It was gorgeous and we even saw a rainbow while waiting on our food. My cocktail was delicious ... Goombay smash or something along those lines. I ordered the lobster BLT and while it was by no means awful it didn't knock me into the inter-coastal. The sweet potato fries were tasty. My husband had the gulf shrimp. Traditional fried shrimp with a tasty Cajun-style tartar sauce. Everything was fine but I didn't leave dying to come back. That being said it was worth it to enjoy a meal by the water without waiting for three hours. The service was on point and we enjoyed the experience. This is definitely a worthwhile spot for a water side meal.

I had the paella and it was great, my wife had the baby back ribs, they fell off the bone and were delicious. My son in law said his burger was really good, and my daughter liked the fish tacos. The service was great. I would definitely recommend this place.

Have been here 4 times, two pretty good and two lousy. Today was my deciding visit, will not be back. Quiet afternoon with a few tables and we sat for at least 10 min watching servers mill about until the Managers realized. She apologized and took our order ( wrong) and food was only fair. Done here!

When I came here I knew I just wanted a Pina Colada or at least one of those drinks in a Pina Colada cup and a pineapple on the side! The view is just so beautiful - right by the water. So we ended up getting goombay smashes, which was my first! Boy they were good, I could sip on those all summer. For our appetizer we had some stuffed blue crab in a phyllo and we shared the grouper. Both were amazing and the grouper was such a huge portion we were both stuffed from sharing it. We came during margarita happy hour ($5) so we downed a couple and just enjoyed the view. We got a seat right next to the water and there was just a group of fish hanging around. We threw some bread in and just watched them fight for it. What a fun little lunch we had :)

Two people had the grilled Grouper and loved it. I had grilled seafood with a sugarcane drizzle. I enjoyed that.

Enjoyed our first experience here and would make the drive again. The view was amazing and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the fish right next to where we sat. There was a fairly long wait to be seated but we attributed that to the rain that closed outside seating and the bar was on top of at least making sure we were hydrated and occupied during the wait. The only thing that I could list as a negative is one of our guest ordered the vegetarian dish and didn't appear to be seasoned at all. However the staff was more than accommodating in correcting the issue!

Summary; the food was under seasoned; we complained; and we were comped one dish. When we arrived, we were told there would be a short wait and were given a pager. After several minutes, we noticed that other parties were bing seated immediately. Susan went to the podium to inquire. She noticed that we had been struck from the list and explained that we had been waiting for a pager call. The hostess then sat us immediately. We ordered calamari and two grilled grouper sandwiches with beans and rice. The calamari was battered and flash fried. It was accompanied by battered and fried onion and red pepper rings as well as a marinara sauce. Every thing was crispy, but relatively bland, a harbinger of things to come. After finishing the calamari, the sandwiches came. The grouper had been fresh and nicely grilled, but lacked any noticeable seasoning. The sandwich was served with a red onion slice, crisp lettuce, and a decent, albeit mealy, tomato slice. The bread was a piece of a baguette style roll. There was also a small dish of tartar sauce and a sour pickle spear. The side dish was a small serving of very bland beans and rice. We also got 2 glasses of weak iced tea, which were continuously refilled. Both the server and a service manager independently inquired about about our food. We explained that the fish was under seasoned to our taste, but the quality of the fish was very good. We also told the manager about our problem with the hostess forgetting us. The manager offered to comp us for the calamari, which we accepted.

We could not be more pleased with our mid afternoon stop on our drive between Key West and Tampa. Yelp was a success again. The Dock restaurant was great. The atmosphere, food and service were all worth the stop in Naples. Our server was Trent and he was very attentive and knowledgable about the menu. Being from Montana we wanted to spend as much of our last day as we could looking at water. This is a great place to eat. We had the grouper sandwich and blue crab rolls. When we come back to Southern Florida we Wil be back.

loved the seating at this restaurant. sitting on the water is very nice. service was good. I got the fried grouper sandwich and it was the best one I've had so far. I also got the key lime colada and it was very good!

We came here as we were cruising around in old Naples. The food is pricy and very poor quality. There were 3 of us and we decided to order Mixed fry grouper, shrimp and scallop, it was served fried, blackened and grilled. The grouper smelled and tasted fishy, the shrimps were tough and chewy, the scallops were mushy. I definitely do not recommend to eat here, not worth it at all.

We loved our meals here and the leftovers were great too! I highly recommend the shrimp risotto. Our server Lorraine made the experience a memorable one and gave great recommendations. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed the meal, definitely recommend going after the busy dinner rush. We arrived shortly before 8pm and the place was dead. We were seated immediately and the service was fairly prompt. Not very pleasant though. Drinks are very over priced and watered down. Food was good. Small portions for the price of the dish. Key Lime pie was AMAZING. Tart, tangy, perfect combination of everything.

Brunch was good. Blackened mahi mahi in soft tacos, with strips of cabbage in a yogurt based sauce. A side of bonafide black beans and rice. You can sit inside and feel like you're outside because huge open air windows open to a view of the City's dock and marina. Or, you can be under umbrellas on the brick patio, also overlooking the marina. Nice of the Dock to be a good citizen as well as a good restaurant. On Tuesday evenings during "Yappy Hour" on the dog-friendly patio, a portion of one's bill is donated to support Naples Dog Park. We felt the influence of da islands, mohn, when we tried to figure out what time the Dock opened on Sunday morning. A busboy who was setting up the patio said 10AM. After we took a patio seat at 10:10, a server peeked through the door and said they woudn't open until 10:30. When we tapped at the window at 10:20 to see if we could coax a couple cups of coffee to the table while we waited, we were told the kitchen would open in ten minutes. The Dock's website doesn't post hours, so I guess it regularly picks its own operating times. Easy Breezy.

Very famous and successful Naples restaurant. Been there a few times and went back with a party of 10. As before and alike others places like that (Boathouse, Riverwalk), atmosphere/ambiance is great, location is great, fun place to be at, of course food is kind of good but not great at all and therefore quite overpriced. But this is Naples, tourism feeds town and this is normal and absolutely acceptable. Will we go back to Dock, yes of course, would I recommend it, for sure, should you expect a great meal, not at all, but enjoy some of their cocktails before and don't miss on the appetizers, best things on the menu.

Just recently ate here, the view and locale is a 5- everything else is a 0. If you like great, fresh seafood don't be fooled by the location on the water. My experience included 2 awful drinks (simple mojitos) that I had to send back because well they tasted nothing like a mojito should. I did have a mojito at the bar before being seated, it was very good. Obviously there are some of the bartenders that know how to make a drink and some that don't. Now to the food, I shared the 'shellfish tower' for 34.99. The mussels, crab legs, and oysters were all very underwhelming- in fact not very good. In addition, the waiter never cracked a smile and added nothing positive to our dining experience. Now onto my night, I woke up at 5 am with horrific food poisoning (I do understand that could happen with shellfish), but typically when prepared and handled properly it does not happen as I have no allergies. The icing on the cake was my debit card was charged 4 TIMES for our dinner after looking at my bank statement, again 4 TIMES! 2 of the 4 were properly taken off before my bank cleared them, however 2 of the charges went thru! Now the $ amount is not the issue but I will have to patiently wait 30 days to be reimbursed thru my bank. So to review: Bad service, Bad drinks, Bad food, A sick stomach, credit card charged 4 times... now that's quite a dinner out! Needless to say we will never be back. There is way better in Naples, don't waste your time.

The main courses was nothing to rave about; however, the appetizer were the best part of what we ordered. The blue crab rolls were excellent. However, the coconut shrimp was just ok, but the mango Thai chili sauce kicked it up a notch. The food was overpriced for the a menu that is not that spectacular. The service started off poor, but then got better as the meal progressed..which is towards the end of the meal when it was time to pay and leave a tip. There were some inconsistency of information from 3 different staff.

Easily one of the worst meals I've ever had. Ever! We ordered the oysters rockefeller and shrimp nachos. The oysters were more aptly described as oysters yuck-afeller. Shrimp nachos were awful. It was basically sweet and sour shrimp with a little bit of clumpy cheese on soggy tortilla chips. For entrees we ordered the steamer clams and fried Ipswich clams. I took one bite of my clams and was rewarded with nothing but a generous mouthful of grit. I decided to try one more clam to see if it was a fluke and was rewarded with so much grit I had to spit it out. The waiter asked if anything was wrong and I informed him they were so gritty they were inedible. He came back from the kitchen and informed me they could make me more but they would be the same. What seafood restaurant or chef doesn't realize you have to purge shellfish?! I politely declined any other type of meal as I was still busily chewing my clump of sand. My husbands fried clams were clam flavored fried breading. Completely awful. Moral of this review, heed a wide berth of this place. Unless you love chewing sand. Bbbblllleeeeccchhhh

Food wasn't the best--a bit under done all around. We ordered a pitcher of Margarita and it was mostly ice which promptly melted. The atmosphere was very nice though--that's about all that it has going for it.

I love this place and always visit when in Naples, from Ohio. The view is great,it's family friendly, and the food always tastes great! We went last week and got a table almost immediately. Super friendly service too! The kids enjoy walking out on the Naples Dock, which is right there on the water. Hope to be back next year! I miss it already! Naples dining everyone must try!

Wait staff seemed constantly put upon and acted as if they were doing us a huge favor every time they (infrequently) acknowledged us. Food, chosen from an interesting menu, was actually pretty good. Sundays offer a well-stocked Bloody Mary bar from which you can make your own perfect Bloody.

I chose the The Dock because it was close by the Pier. I never dined on a Dock so it was my first experience which was nice. Pelicans, ducks, birds, boats, nice! The food was just okk the Shrimp nachos umm I didn't like the sweet flavor leaning towards Asian food...not my thing when it comes to nachos. It was a little before 6 and I got the 6 dollar banana margarita special which was good. The Red Stripe Beer ribs were not one of the best as the waitress suggested because they weren't fall off the bone. I ordered a burger for my son and it was delicious. I don't believe you pay highly for the food cause its just o-k, but you may pay for the location because its the closest restaurant by the Naples Pier and its on A Dock.

This place is a mixed bag, the drinks, service and ambience was terrific, but the entrees were pretty unenthusiastic. We had grouper fingers, smelt, mahi tacos and grilled veggie platter, and all were barely passable. The rock shrimp nachos were actually some of the best nachos I've ever eaten, and were flavorful and spicy. On the other hand, its easy to see why the oceans are predicted to be fish free within a few years, the way the over 60 crowd shovels it down meal after meal. Yikes. It was strange to have such a bulid up with the drinks, apps and service only to nosedive with the entrees. Well, kudos the app chef!

After a good experience in Tin City, my fiance and I decided to try the sister restaurant, Dock's. We had a short 10 min wait for lunch on a post season Sunday and were so happy to be seated on the terrace surrounded by water and lush greenery. Based on several Yelper Reviews, we ordered the shrimp nachos. The shrimp was delicious-could have just ordered that and skipped the nachos and cheese. Maybe next time. My beau ordered the brunch special, lobster omelet and I ordered a blackened grouper sandwich with sweet potato fries. The grouper was not great but the fries were the bomb! The omelet was also underwhelming. We had a great waitress and the service great considering the terrace filled up with hungry guests shortly after our food arrived. Decent and perhaps worth going back to next time around for drinks and apps.

I am a born and raised Floridian who loves a good seafood place. My problem with this restaurant is, it's situated at a great location on the water overlooking a nice bay with boats parked along the marina. You would automatically expect fresh seafood but unfortunately that's not the case. I ordered fried grouper and coconut rice with steamed veggies. The fish was very fishy tasting (which is a sign that it's not fresh) and I could tell it had been frozen before they fried it up. The coconut rice was dry and flavorless and the veggies were also tasteless. The margarita I ordered was mediocre. For a party of 6, with only 2 appetizers and beverages totaled $283!! I thought the cost was pricey for such bad food!

  • Meranda E.

Great service. Great food. Wonderful waterfront breeze. My waiter, Tyler, was fabulous at helping me navigate the menu of great options. I had a rum drink called a "monkey's fist" and the blue crab spring rolls which were both great. For my entree, the mahi mahi atop a perfect potato cake made with half sweet and half reg potatoes and served with caramelized plaintiffs, a buerre blanc sauce and tropical salsa. Absolutely the best mahi I've had anywhere and the best meal I've had in my 2+ weeks in Florida. No way I could think about dessert after all that plus the rolls and better before the meal. Total tab: $50 plus tip.

We like the interesting menu, but after the third time that I've been to this place I noticed that the menu never changes. And I still steer clear of a few things on the menu b/c I think that they're either going to be exactly like what I had last time or they just look bland. My other peeve is the expense for what you get. The quality is good though along with the recipes they use. We live in Miami and go to Naples only occasionally and we always eat here and have always been seated on the water. I wish that the waiters wouldn't feed the bread to the fish which just tells the visitors that it's ok to do it too. As a former Pennsylvanian, I like that they have yuengling on tap. here.

So we went here again with family in town. My FIL insisted, as some guy on the airplane swore it has the best fish in town ( he's like that, it's mostly endearing). My husband & I thought , why not? It's Riverwalk's sister (or was, and we enjoy eating there) Well here it is boiled down: Neat looking location, we sat outside, not the porch but to the side under many lovely trees with tons of beautiful white lights. I was excited because it was just so pretty. We got over priced but yummy island drinks to start ( so far so good!) But the food again, was JUST. So. Bland. It all looked gorgeous when it came out, but had almost no taste. My poor father in law HATED his Sea Bass. Hated. And he's normally such a trooper, it was just slimy and gross. My husband tried a grouper dish which was tasteless, as were my ribs, and who can even remember what my mother in law had. Again it all looked perfect when it arrived to the table, sounded fun & creative, tasted like....blah. Server friendly but average. We're getting sick of the disappearing act at most of the places we visit in Naples. Then they feel free to grat you. Why is this place so blah?? Why?? It's so cute. But it is overpriced, and for right now, we can't afford to risk boring blah meals when we splurge. Still do not recommend.

  • Ben M.

Here is the thing,,,,,I get it.....you are doing business in Naples, the rent is high. I understand that you have to raise your prices to cover that. But if you are going to charge $11.00 for a burger it had better be a Kobe Beef Burger. The two stars is for a poor ratio between cost and quality. I really don't mind spending a lot of money for quality food, but it had better be really really good food. The food here is decent, some of the dishes are above average, but none of them are worth what you are paying even taking the view into account. Sit at the bar, order a beer and a bowl of chowder and soak in the view. Pay for a full meal? Meh.

I was hesitant to go here because of the "average" Yelp review it had, but this place was great! The calamari app was very good because of the cherry pepper sauce it came with, but it was a little more breaded then I would've liked. The grilled yellowfin tuna sandwiches were perfect, and the sweet potatoe fries were fantastic. I had the Florida paella, which was only $1 more than simple linguine and clam sauce, but came with mussels, clams, scallops, white fish, shrimp, andoille sausage, peas, and rice. The seafood and sausage was amazing, even if the rice could've been spiced a little more. The location is fantastic, so that adds the 5th star.

Beautiful location, so-so food (for me, anyways). I got the carmelized mahi mahi and it didn't have a lot of flavor. A couple of my companions got dishes with lobster, which they said was great (and it looked like there was quite a bit of lobster).

The Dock is classic Naples. It's big, so it attracts a lot of tourists, even buses in season. In season, it can be a long wait. If you go offseason or offpeak times, you'll really enjoy it. Good seafood, all open air seating (no AC-ever). Give it a try.

Nice place right on the water next to the marina. Service was fast and pleasant. Mom and I shared a grouper sandwich and burger which were both very good. The burger had a lot of flavor and the grouper was fresh. Potato salad was made with dill. My dad had the fried shrimp with beans and rice. He said the beans had a slight kick. All in all a good meal and nice ambiance. Get there early if you want to talk. It got very busy and loud when we were leaving.

Fantastic setting waterside views. Food is well above average with my favorites being the crab BLT and the sushi grade tuna steak sandwich. We bring our dogs to "Yappy Hour" for cocktails on the patio. Service is excellent too. These guys are friendly and attentive. Refills drinks for all and dogs too!

Stay away if you want edible food - we cannot understand who would write a good review. Every single thing on all 3 of our plates was simply terrible. The seafood is fishy, over cooked, frozen (the manager confirmed this - shame on them) - like bad food from a bad nursing home - yuck!!! The nice view isn't worth the disgusting meal!

Had lunch here last week. The service was excellent and so was the food!!! The carmelized Mahi Mahi was one of the BEST dishes I had on our vacation down in Naples!!!!!! The rock shrimp nachos were also very good!! Only thing I didnt really care for were the cocktails....The Original Dock Margarita was just so so. Order the carmelized Mahi Mahi!!!! You will not be disappointed!

This place is pretty good, I especially like it because we could bring our dogs in while we were on our ride home from vacation. The food doesn't come out particularly quick, so don't go there super hungry. I really enjoyed the view and our server was very courteous and hospitable. The pricing seemed a bit high, but we didn't particularly mind since we were just stopping in. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

This restaurant is also listed in yelp as "the dock" and gets more stars on those reviews. Fabulous location on the marina. Loud at dinner--loud enough for a party with kids. Great service--Tyler did a fantastic job and didn't miss a beat. Recommend the key lime colada--YUM! great grouper and chips, fabulous mahi mahi with plantains, good reviews from our party on everything, esp the mussels

The Dick offers an interesting Sunday brunch menu. We had a great three-cheese lobster omelet and a cheese/egg/steak Cuban sandwich. The hash browns were extra good. We didn't try it but they they offer a do-it-yourself Bloody Mary bar. The standard menu looked pretty extensive. They open at 10:30 Sunday's. They don't take reservations, but we arrived at 11 and got the last table outside on the terrace. The restaurant is on the edge of the marina and next to the Naples City Dock's short pier. From the pier we watched dolphins and about 30 sea gulls. Maybe covered small seating area provided shade.

Service is a 5 (out of 5) Friendly and fast. Food Quality / Taste is 3 (out of 5). It was better, years ago. They have gotten a little lazy with their food prep. View and Location 5 (out of 5) What to Try: Crab Salad BLT Sandwich

I have been going to The Dock for years, every time I have visited my family. But, I recently moved down to Florida full time. This is my go to bar, I go almost 2-3 times a week. The customer service at the bar is impeccable, and the food is always wonderful. This is like my bar, home away from home. I also have met some great new friends here as well. Thank You and your lovely staff for the delicious, food, drinks and impeccable service at he bar. My favorite appetizer here are the fresh raw oysters, and the delicious Bamboo Steamed Salmon. This is the place to go in Naples. Yea I read the review about the guy who got food poisoning and his credit card was charge 4 times. I'm calling bullshit on that . What a little punk weed. I bet if you read his reviews it's all one or five stars. Never trust a yelper that never gives a three star review. Having said that. Everything was outstanding. Minus half star for a $9 stoli that was really weak. Great view, great food and great ambience. Should be a 4.5 star .

Good place for dinner. Food was very good, prices were reasonable. Excellent atmosphere as we ate right on the water and our kids fed the fish by throwing pieces of their bread into the water. Will definitely eat there again next visit

Went here with a group and the food was pretty good, if inconsistent. I recommend the Key Lime Grouper, Carribean Carmelized Mahi Mahi, or the Yucatan Snapper. I thought the Whole Fish of the Day was pretty bland, and I'd avoid any of the Asian-fusiony dishes (if it has miso, sake, or thai chili, don't even think about it). The atmosphere is pleasant enough, grab a seat by the front of the patio and you'll have a nice view of the marina. Staff is friendly but on the slow side.

5 stars for the ambiance and view; 1 star for the food. My tilapia with key lime butter and coconut rice was lame and tasteless, served with bland steamed veggies for 20 bucks - the cheapest fresh fish on the menu and still not worth it. Other fish options are in the $20-30 range. As local residents, we have been here multiple times and we like to take out-of-town visitors here, primarily because of the casual open-air setting with great views of Naples Bay. Unfortunately, we continue to be disappointed in the entrees. I'll go back, but I'll stick with the fish tacos or conch fritters.

I really like the dock. The few times I've been to Naples we always go here - if even just for the atmosphere. They serve Yingeling which is always a bonus. But - the food is decent and if you're lucky you get to sit right on the water which is fun. Every time we've been there the service has been great and we've always had fun. The Dock is one of those Naples staples!
